One day they bought him a cat named Cassiopeia and eventually he became more lucid. I think he also lost color vision because his soulmate (harry) died in the war. vena did not want to go with duncan. he had to drag them kicking and screaming from their clan. they’re deeply upset with marethari and feel like they were betrayed. they didn’t want to die, but they wanted a choice and they were not given one. they are not sad when duncan dies.

they promised merrill they would not return without finding tamlen. they stay true to this.

tamlen attacking the camp is far more upsetting to them than anything else, because it means tamlen was alive and could have been helped, but they were not allowed or given the chance to look for him further.
