On or about this day in 1692, Sarah Osborne, Sarah Good, and Tituba were accused of witchcraft, marking the beginning of what would become the Salem Witch Trials.

This dark period would change the lives of everyone involved, and bring an end to at least 25 lives.

Sarah Osborne was the first victim to die. She died in prison on the 10th of May, 1692. Many people accused of witchcraft (or other crimes), including at least four other people involved in the Salem witch trials, shared this fate.

Sarah Good died on the 29th of July, 1692. She was one of 19 people to be hanged over the course of the trials, and one of the 20 people killed for witchcraft in Salem.

Tituba (an enslaved woman) later confessed to witchcraft and accused numerous others of the same, adding fire to the flame of Salem’s supposed witch problem, which would become increasingly disastrous for everyone involved as a result. The last known record of her is from 1693, when an unknown person bought her.

I saw a tin sign that I wanted but could only find it with cats. So I made my own. I have a fascination with 1692 Salem as my 7ggramma was THERE. (Provided Southwyck Gaskill). Her story is just ...insipid. Her parents were tried and kicked out of the colony for being Quakers. The Salem court kept Provided and her brother . . Wait for it ... as payment for "court costs." The court put Provided up on the slave auction block but she had no takers. Fast forward to 1692 - She and her husband were part of a group that confronted the leaders about the witch trials. I read one document that basically said, "Thou art stupid." John, you really fucked up here. Davesprite has been single-mindedly focused on saving you and Jade for months, and you’ve unintentionally spat in his face. He’s not a cut-rate Dave, you know!

John’s a good kid, and this was probably just a slip of the tongue, but it was pretty much the single worst thing he could have said.

Four months is just the official score. Dave's a time traveler now, and it sounds like his personal timeline is three times longer. Even worse, Rose wasn’t travelling those loops with him - he was completely alone.

Come to think of it, why are all our conversations one-on-one? Switching to a group chat would solve all our coordination problems in one fell swoop.

If, for some bizarre reason, Pesterchum doesn’t have that functionality, we could try and convince the troll hacker to implement it.

Worry about it.

Dave is dismissing this way too quickly. His future self isn’t his exact equivalent, and this is something Present Dave has no reason to be touchy about. Dave doesn’t strike me as the introspective type, and that probably extends to other iterations of him, too.

EB: hey dave... TG: what EB: in case i forgot to say so before... EB: thanks for saving my life!

I mean, that’s a good first step, but this is going to take a lot more work. Can someone just give Davesprite a hug?

First world problems:

My heating pad doesn’t have a “just right” setting. It’s either barely warm enough to feel that it’s plugged in or burning me alive like it’s 1692 and I’ve been found to be a witch in Salem.
