I dunno man. I just watched the premiere of True Detective: Night Country, and it freaked me tf out, like, BADLY. And I don't freak out that easy. Something about the Artic and the idea of the boundary between this world and the spirit world being thin there during the periods of endless night, it just gives me a full-on case of the willies. It's also likely a bit of leftover trauma from watching The Terror.
Just ghost bears and freaky shit, man. Animals doing illogical and crazy things. Dead people casually appearing. Freezing in the darkness and bloodless body parts being the only thing anyone finds. Ferris Bueller lip-syncing "Twist and Shout" on repeat for literally DAYS. *shudder*
Also the soundtrack is full of eerie songs I thought only I had ever heard of.

I'm gonna sound so lame but I love shitty horror movies. People still put effort into them, and art doesn't need to be perfect. Give me a plot that doesn't make sense and generic or weird characters. I may not react in fear, but I'll still find joy in it.
