Visual Novels/Otome games recommendations

Here are some of my favourite games! I’ll include the name, price, some info, and where you can find it, along with my favourite routes and route recommendations!

1. Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem (DEMO)

This is one of my all time favourite games. I’m not kidding when I say that if the full game came out tomorrow priced at like £150, I’d cut back on my food budget until I could afford it. There’s so much replayability, and although I’ve played countless hours again and again, I still occasionally find new secrets and dialogue.

You play as a delegate for a fictional country of your choice at an event in a neutral castle where you must find a marriage partner (political arrangement, love match or scandalous affair) and help mediate between opposing countries in a world on the brink of a war. Oh, and also survive. Yes, you can die in this game, but if you aren’t about that, you can play the story mode. You survive through your own skills and/or by making alliances.

There’s so much more to it than that, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

MC: Female by default, no artwork, but extremely customisable as far as traits, outfits, body type, skin colour, hair and backstory goes. There are multiple MCs to choose from, I believe it is currently 4-6 (?) with an extra 3 ish released when the full game comes out. You can play as any and every type of person with this game, it’s unbelievable!

PRICE: Free (full game will cost a fair amount if I remember what the creator said, but the demo is very long and completely free)

ROUTE RECS: Both male and female love interests! There are about 7/8 main love interests, some hidden, a couple of side romances and a couple of political matches too.

Duke Lyon is my all time favourite. He’s an incredibly intelligent but socially awkward duke who only agreed to turn up to make use of the extensive library and spends the rest of his time standing in the corner of parties being grumpy. With a strong moral code and the world’s most adorable blush (that’s easy to tease out of him) he’s absolutely my favourite.

But maybe you’d prefer the ever cheerful Earl Emmett, with a personality like sunshine and a love for travel and plants? Or Ana, the warrior princess who is very upset by the event’s ban on weaponry (although she makes do with using bread as a projectile). There’s so many to choose from!

There are also many friendship routes you can take which provide some of the best content!!

DOWNSIDES: The game is still not finished, so there are some grammar errors and the background art is a little lacking in some places, but honestly, it’s easy to ignore. I will say the major downside is how long the game is taking to complete. Although it’s still being developed and is in the final stages, the creator is active very rarely and I’ve been waiting for the game for half a decade now. It’s still really worth it though, and it’s not left on a cliff-hanger, so that’s good lol.

2. Ebon Light (Complete)

I followed the progress of this game very attentively as it was being developed. It has a very dark concept, and believe me, you will probably die at least a few dies, I certainly did.

You play as a poor woman living in the woods with her aunt, foraging for food, living that old timey life, when abruptly things take a turn and you end up on a hostile island full of very attractive but terrifying elves, most of who want to murder you for being human. But fear not, there are ways to keep your place, you just have to have the skills to pull them off without meeting a sticky end.

MC: Female by default but with multiple hairs, skin colours and eye colours.

PRICE: Free - the full game is completely free!

ROUTE RECS: Vadeyn is my favourite. He’s a competent soldier who wishes he lived anywhere but the militant country where he does. He is often bullied for being ‘soft’ for his pacifist tendencies. And he’s very pretty so....

But, maybe you’d prefer Haron, a cheeky and curious man who wants to learn more about humans. Or maybe his older brother Ernol, who is cold and withdrawn and in some serious denial about falling in love with a human? There are 5 love interests to choose from.

DOWNSIDES: The romance and gameplay is really good, but there is a side plot about magic that gets ignored as a result. The mystery of the magical poison is a bit blah, but if you’re here for the romance and the political intrigue/survival, then you probably won’t care. But it’s free so, yeah!

3. Changeling (Complete)

I had been watching this game for some time but couldn’t afford to pay full price when I was a teenager, but luckily, it was added to the racial equality bundle on Itchi.io for $5, so I managed to snag it cheap, which is no longer an option. I played through all the routes in three days where I did nothing but play this lol.

You play as a high school girl who is moving back to her hometown for the end of school after having been living in the city for a while. But strange things start happening and she ends up in a club full of... interesting people. I don’t want to spoil anymore, but the game is seriously big!

When I first played, I thought that there was going to be a lot of overlap between routes which would ruin the replayability, but no! Apart from a very small prologue, every route is entirely different with different dialogue, different plots, different side characters. It’s crazy! That really helps justify the price I think, because the gameplay lasts a very long time.

MC: Female, name is customisable, but that’s it.

PRICE: $19.99

ROUTE RECS: William the human psychic is an easy pick for my favourite. He’s shy and spends a lot of time on his own, but he’s also dedicated and dealing with a lot in his life outside of school. He’s the sweetest character by far, and I love him :)

But I also really liked Corvin the blond clutz who couldn’t stay on his own two feet if his life depended on it, and Elliot, a not so secret hopeless romantic with a pretty awkward but hilarious sense of humour.

There are 6 (? ish) routes to play.

DOWNSIDES: Sometimes the main character can be frustrating but it’s definitely in character and makes sense for a high school student, so it’s not a plot hole, it’s just teenagers like this that refuse to ask for help are very annoying. The price is a big one too, obviously, it would be too much for some people. There isn’t a demo, so be careful about spending money on my recommendation, be sure you actually want it. But if you happened to be one of the many people who bought the racial equality bundle from itch.io, then you’ll already have this game! If that’s the case, give it a shot!

4. The Letter

This is a visual novel, one with a horror theme! I loved this game so much, the way the game branched was so interesting! I remember thinking the game must have been super easy, because I kept the character alive the first time around, but a lot of my decisions were made on a whim with no real reason. I replayed it with opposite choices and oh boy. Turns out I was just lucky lmao.

I love love love the art for this game, and the deaths are really gruesome and impactful.

You play as the entire cast, going through the story of 7(?) ish people and unravelling the story in a non chronological, but easy to follow timeline. It’s a lot of reading and not much gameplay (emphasis the visual novel part) but the choices all have far reaching effects on the story. There are many times where I got caught up in the lives and dramas of the characters and then was completely caught of guard when I was suddenly having to press keys in the right order to escape a horrific monster that was slowly crawling towards me. Terrifying!

MC: None, you play as every character.

PRICE: £14.99

ROUTE RECS: None, there are no traditional routes, although there are romance subplots if you choose to get the characters together. There is also a huge walkthrough available if you’re interested in that.

DOWNSIDES: The voice acting is painful! Because it’s an entirely American cast trying to do a variety of accents. Some are good, for those who know her, AmaLee sings the opening and voices one of the characters, she’s really good. But hearing Americans do Scottish accents is really.... tough on the ears. Maybe if you aren’t British like me you could stomach it, but I played with the voices off. I didn’t find that took away from my experience though! Also, there is a lot of reading!

5. Tailor Tales (Some routes complete, others in progress)

This game is one where every route is a completely separate story, so even if the whole game isn't complete, your experience will be. I’ve actually only played one character, Dimitri, because he’s the only submissive love interest that’s out at the moment (although an even more explicit submissive character is in the works for some time over the next few years.)

My favourite part of this game, is that you can choose between king and fierce responses every time you have a choice. And the fierce responses aren’t mean, they’re just more forward, and I love that!

(Dimitri’s route) You play as an owner of a new boutique who bumps into her ex boyfriend’s little brother who is in desperate need for a place to stay. And you have a spare room and could use some help cooking and cleaning. Shenanigans ensue.

MC: Female, can’t choose backstory but I think I remember skin tone and hair and eye customisation.

PRICE: Free!! (The other submissive route I mentioned is going to be priced because of explicit content, but the current routes are free. You do have to play a mini game in between chapters to earn coins to get the next chaoter, but it doesn’t take long and isn’t that hard. If you want to skip that, and also get an extended epilogue and some extra nsfw content, you can buy the premium version, which costs £1.99.

ROUTE RECS: Dimitri, obviously haha. There are two other routes I think? I haven’t played them, because the LIs are a bit too dom for me, but you still get the kind vs fierce options, and I’ve heard that the MCs are still pretty good! I haven’t played them though.

DOWNSIDES: The mini games in-between chapters can be annoying, but it’s cheap to get rid of them. But, it’s free/cheap and really cute to fluster Dimitri!!

6. When the Night Comes

This was one I really don’t remember paying for? But I looked it up and it costs money? Maybe I hallucinated it lmao.

Either way, I really enjoyed a couple of the routes for this game, and the general story was pretty good too! If I remember it correctly, there were two character that were switches, so you could choose to lead or be led. I loved that!

MC: Customizable pronouns, male and female romances (mostly male I think)

PRICE: $12.99

ROUTE RECS: I remember Ezra being my favourite by far, I definitely played the rest of them, but the story is the same each time, so I wasn’t as invested. I can’t remember much about anyone else haha.

DOWNSIDES: Limited replayability because main story is the same each time. I also don’t remember the game lasting that long. If you have the money, it’d probably be worth it, but I wouldn’t suggest you save up unless you’re very interested in it.

7. The Wayhaven Chronicles

This is an interactive story, not a visual novel or otome game, but I think it’s amazing and I’d love to recommend it!

This is a series of interactve novels, only two are out so far, but I believe there’s supposed to be like 7 or something crazy.

You play as a detective in a small town where mysterious things have started to happen. Then, an equally mysterious team of agents rolls in to help you solve the mystery.

As an interactive novel, everything is insanely customisable! I’m waiting for the third one right now and I’m so excited that it might be out this year!

MC: Customisable pronouns, height, hair, clothes, food tastes, interior design, familial relationships, personality etc. Everything! Love interests are also customisable as male or female or a mix of both. There are four love interests.

PRICE: I think it’s £3.99 per book? You can play the first few chapters for free though, to see if you like it!

ROUTE RECS: Nate! (Or Nat) is my favourite by far, I love him. He’s an intelligent, caring man who is a little oblivious at times. If you’re looking for some pain too, you can play a love triangle route too, which is full of pain! It’s great!

DOWNSIDES: Because of the rules of the website, you can’t save your progress until the next book is almost finished. So, you do end up having to replay the books sometimes to prepare for the new books.

HEY GUYS STORY TIME!!!

OK first off new story.....yay...

I just came with this "Original" Idea while watching Spiderman into the Spidy verse, so here goes

You are Y/N Beck, daughter of Quentin Beck, who in this universe did not turn evil and still works at Stark industries, anyways you were born in New York City and for the first 2 years of your life, everything was going well, you had both parents and a nice house and was happy, until one night, while your father was out and your mother was taking care of you, someone broke in the house. Your mother fought back and did everything she could to protect you but she got killed, your father got home just in time with his boss and friend Tony Stark. They both were alerted that something happened and went they there, the villain was about to take you, but they both stopped him and got him behind bars. Devastated of his wife's death and almost losing his little girl, he almost quit his job just keep an eye out for you, but Tony had another suggestion, to move to Musutafu, Japan. Where most of the top Pro Heroes are and will keep both of them safe, plus he knows most of them, your father hesitated for a few moments, he wanted the best for you and you to be safe in the end he agreed.

Moving to Japan was a long journey, but you both make it and move into a house, that had a connect backyard with a fence. After moving in, both of you are greeted by your new neighbors, they talk to your father while also introducing their son, Sero Hanta, who seems to be a little older than you. You both get along just fine and soon become the best of friends, the both of you did everything together and got into a lot of mischiefs. And got even worse when Sero got his quirk, you both got hurt a lot and that got your father to worry about your safety, but didn't do anything until you got your quirk a few weeks after Sero got his. Then he got really worried, so then he pulled you out of school and had you homeschooled. But that didn't stop you from hanging and talking to Sero, you got homeschooled by the best tutors that your father hired for you(Thanks to Tony).

You grew very intelligent and was even doing things above your grade level, but got kinda boring, wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, study with a tutor, hang out with Sero, eat lunch, study again, practice violin, eat dinner alone, wait for your father to come home, fall asleep on the couch, then wake up in your room and repeat. This went on for a good 6 years(both of you are now 12) and Sero tried his best to be by your side, but school keeping him busy and vise versa. Plus he has been training his quirk to get into U.A, while you were ban from using yours at all plus you were not interested as he was of becoming a hero, that's until your father got into an accident at work and almost lost his life if some pro hero weren't there. Now knowing that you didn't want to see your father almost die ever again, you wanted to be a Pro hero, to protect him and your loved ones.

After begging your dad for weeks to let you train to go to U.A., he refused, of course, he didn't want his little girl to become a pro hero. He was scared that you might get into trouble and possibly might get killed. But you still plead and plead that he would let you got but nothing until you told your Uncle Tony about and he was on board of helping you train and getting into U.A. he sends some of the avengers to help you. And training behind your father's back was not easy but little lies here and there plus Uncle Tony keeping him distracted did the trick, at least that you thought but turns out that your father knew the whole time and he confronted you about it. After the conversation, he allowed you to keep training as long as you keep track of your health and safety.

2 years go by of training and studying, you're done with homeschool and get to see Sero more often. You don't tell him the news of you getting trained and that you been allowed to go to U.A., of course, your dad was scared when he heard about the entrance exam and fighting giant robots. So he asked Tony if there was another way to let you in without taking that entrance exam, so boom you got recommended to get into to U.A. At first you found it unfair that you get a pass to get in the school and others had to take a test to prove their worth, such as your best friend Sero, who has been training and wanted to be a hero his whole life. But it was the only way for your father to let you go to the school, so waiting for Sero to get the letter if he got in or not was kinda nerve wreaking for the both of you. But he got in and you both so happy that he got in and it kinda slipped out that you were going too, and he was even happier that his best friend was going to be by his side to become heroes.

So the day finally came, the first day of going to U.A., the first step to becoming a Pro Hero. That's where your story begins, a girl with a spider-like quirk going to U.A. with her childhood friend and new friends she meets in U.A. and having Pro Heroes as teachers, including All Might. But you know that becoming a hero is not easy, there will be villains, hard work training, a lot of studying, and even some complicated romance. But whatever this path leads you, you will not be alone. For your Father, your Mother, your Friends, and Family, and most importantly Yourself.

She had the ability of a spider, climb onto walls, shoots webs from her arm, spider senses, and can lift up 170 times her own weight, and her special moves are jumping about 25 feet in the air and having night vision. That's all she knows about her power so far.

Disadvantages: her arms get sore if she shoots too many webs and she scared of spiders(how ironic)she also can't really be in closed areas since she can't use her webs or jumping abilities.

1. Arthur and Eames meet as trust fund teens in a Manhattan private school. Eames is a new student who's just moved from overseas, and him and Arthur hit it off immediately. Friendship turns to a whirlwind summer romance, until Eames is forced to move back to London. They meet again many years later when Arthur has to kidnap Eames for a job.

2. A songfic featuring Aubrey by Bread, studying Arthur and Eames and what their relationship might have been like before the Fischer job. The characters aren't going to resemble fanon (Arthur's closed-off persona and Eames's flirtiness). I'm going to try to expand more on what Nolan gave us during the movie (Arthur's straightforwardness and Eames's aloof/cold personality). Basically, Eames is distant and Arthur chases.

3. A fic about arthur and eames and their first meeting in the military to all their other meetings in the criminal underworld of dreamshare. not that long, i'm aiming for 2.5k or maybe 3k if i can. i wanted to focus on their totems and how eames could use forging as a totem (because if he can't forge then he must be awake, right?) but he has a totem just in case. and arthur has a totem (the die from the movie) that he uses a lot more except when he happens to be taken and tortured for some secret or another and the only thing that convinces his brain that he isn't dreaming is the way eames stands when arthur aims a gun at him? if that makes sense....

here's a little bit of what i have written so far:

he’s more surprised at the lack of surprise he feels when eames digs a poker chip out of his desk. its blood red with gold and white accents, worth five thousand dollars at the particular casino it came from, disregarding the fact that it was arthur’s shitty first and last attempt at a real world forge after he participated in a poker game eames held on base many years ago and realized half the chips in the set were fake, pocketing a one thousand dollar chip to use as a reference.

“our totems match,” eames murmurs, flipping the chip over his knuckles with a concentration a bit too intense for something he could do in his sleep (ha).

“match how?” he asks, sipping a glass of orange juice, freshly squeezed because eames wanted to use the electric juicer. he's tempted to pull out his die from his pocket and roll to see it land on five, even though he knows this isn’t a dream.

“i have something that you made, and you have something i made. also, there’s some significance with the number five.”

4. When dreamshare is first developed, no one has totems. They've always gone into dreams for short amounts of time and always with another person, so there's no chance of someone forgetting their reality. Mal's friend Pip has consistently been pushing the boundaries of dreaming, and one day she decides to go a later deeper without Mal. When Mal wakes up, she realizes that Pip is still asleep and she has to go down after her where she basically incepts Pip with the idea of totems.

5. There was a small lake behind Arthur's house. The following night, he sat at its edge and stared at the moon's reflection in the water.

Arthur turned. A man was sitting next to him.

"Hello," Arthur said. "Thank you for helping me get home last night."

The moon smiled. "How did you know it was me?"

Arthur rolled his eyes. He picked up a pebble and tossed it into the water, watching the waves ripple the reflection. "How can you be here and there at the same time?"

The moon leaned back on his elbows and stared up at the sky. "Same way I can be in the lake and the sky at the same time."

Arthur frowned. "That's not the same thing. The lake's just reflecting the light from the moon. From you."

The moon turned to smile brightly at him. "Well aren't you a smart one, hm?" He leaned in and whispered, "I'm a reflection, too. We all are, at the end of the day."

Arthur thought about that. It didn't make sense, but that didn't mean it was wrong. He looked up at the moon in the sky, then at the moon sitting next to him.

"My name's Arthur," he offered. "What's your name?"

The moon looked at him strangely. "Eames. You can call me Eames."

"I'm going to be an astronaut, Eames," Arthur said. "Then I can come and visit you in the sky."

Eames smiled again. Arthur wouldn't have thought the moon liked to smile. "I would like that very much," Eames said. "Very much, indeed."

9. When Eames first moved to America, he was at a loss for things to cook. He wasn’t used to the supermarkets and ingredients he needed were expensive. So he Googled food bloggers and found Arthur’s blog. The weekly updates keep Eames going in his boring office job. It takes him a few months before he gets the courage to comment but it’s all downhill from there. Eames is lost with Arthur’s sardonic commentary and when Arthur’s next recipe is one Eames requested, he knows he’s in bad.

11. Haunted House AU. Arthur’s working at a popular horror maze escape place to make some extra money over the summer. It’s far from his dream job—making minimum wage crouching behind dark trap doors and chasing random couples and tourists—but at least he gets to vent his frustrations about his coworkers (who are, frankly, driving him insane day by day) by literally screaming at customers. Then there’s Eames, who finds haunted houses boring, overrated, and not the least bit frightening, but is willing to humor a friend (Ariadne?) by accompanying her. But an encounter (and some painfully obvious flirting) with the cute guy under the ghoul mask is enough to make him want to come back again, and again, and again—

FEATURING:

- Cobb as the owner/boss and the only guy who actually takes his job seriously. He probably squints a lot because sunlight genuinely hurts his eyes lmao - Mal as his wife, who used to be an actress but left to start a business with Dom. Super sweet and kind of protective of their employees. Plays the main ghost. She’s terrifying. - Yusuf doing their costumes and makeup!!!!

- Arthur getting the job in the first place because his screams are so full of rage (let! him! rest!)

- Eames blowing all his cash on haunted house admission fees so he can flirt with Arthur (who plays different roles on different days, maybe? but Eames can always recognize him, even under the masks/makeup)

- he’s not trying to be creepy, he just wants to ask if he can see him outside of work/get his number—but something always goes wrong before he can

- Arthur being frustrated because Eames is a) distracting, and b) not easily scared, which doesn’t look good for his job. And it annoys him because he has a track record of being able to freak out anyone. He takes it upon himself to make him scream at least once (I haven’t decided how he does, but he does, eventually. Eames probably jokes about screaming with something other than fear, but i am too babey to write any sexytimes)

- maybe??? mild h/c?? Dumbass Drunk College Students coming in all wanting to prove to their friends that they're the Alpha Male, picking a fight and being super violent/rowdy/destructive, + arthur getting hurt/generally kind of shaken up; that’s the first night he lets eames really talk to him outside of the job, maybe even lets him take him home (i dont know if im including this scene for sure but..perhaps)

- Ariadne getting them banned from the haunted house after reflexively slapping Arthur in the face with a rubber snake (Cobb takes the ‘no touching the actors’ rule seriously—especially after what happened^). Eames thinks he’s lost his chance for good, but Arthur finds him outside and finally makes the first move :)

12. Arthur is in love with Eames, and he's pretty sure Eames is at least interested in him back. Only problem? Arthur is ace, and not at all sure how Eames is going to react to that. But Arthur's going to talk to him about it, because the alternative is to lose even his friendship with the forger, and that's just not on.

STORY OUTLINE:

Arthur is ace, and no one knows. When Eames invites Arthur to join him for Christmas, Arthur panics and says no - and spends the whole of Christmas regretting it. The team comes back from Christmas break, and everything is awkward. Arthur knows he has to say something or ruin his relationship with Eames forever, and he's going to do that at the New Year's party where Eames will hopefully be in a good enough

But unbeknownst to him, he's not the only one who's realized something needs to happen. Cobb, Ariadne and Yusuf agree that an intervention is in order. And when better to set their two friends up than at New Years? Get them kissing and surely the tension between them will resolve itself.

What could possibly go wrong?

At the New Year's party, Ariadne suggests playing a game of spin the bottle. Arthur is less than enthused, but Cobb and Yusuf both back up the idea. They play a few rounds before it lands on Eames, whom Ariadne dares to make out with Arthur.

There's an awkward beat before Eames moves to do it. Arthur reacts by freezing and shying away physically. Eames takes this a rejection and leaves the room. Arthur sits there, frozen, and then leaves too.

He goes to the bathroom and breaks down, blaming himself for being so stupid and backwards. Eames hears him, and comes in and comforts him. Once Eames realizes what the problem is - that Arthur is ace - he promises Arthur that it doesn't matter to him, he just wants to be close to him. Cue happy end credits.

born and raised in busan as an only child

his father is a surgeon and his mother a literature teacher, so they’re both doing pretty ok for themselves. in terms of wealth, sungil grew up very comfortably.

with his parents putting their careers first however, sungil didn’t get to spend all that much time with them, and the times he did he was often compared to the children of relatives or neighbours and criticised for his grades in school which kind of sucked

desperate for their praise and attention, as a kid sungil always said he was going to be a doctor when he grows up even though he didn’t really like the idea of it

his parents were happy with that at least, but instead of loving him more, they just made him study extra hard which really really sucked

socializing with his peers was pretty much banned. nobody wanted to be his friend anyway because his parents were so scary, so his only friends were the characters in the games he’d play while shut in his room when he wasn’t reading from textbooks

his mood would plummet a lot tbh and even as a kid he was pretty unhappy but never showed it out of fear of looking ‘ungrateful’ for what he had

as a teenager he learned that he’d get a bit more freedom by lying, which he became incredibly good at especially since his parents seemed to trust him

they’d give him money for lunch and he’d tell them he was staying behind at school or at libraries to study more in a ‘better environment’ but really he was spending all his time at computer cafes to -- you guessed it -- play more video games

it was really his only escape from home so he spent most of his time there, and got really really good at the games he’d choose to play ( mostly first person shooters or fighting games )

it got to the point where he’d even skip school sometimes in order to play all day, sometimes entering competitions and earning some cash of his own

wasn’t too long until he got caught for it though, with one of his teachers contacting his parents about ‘suspicious absences’ a few days in a row

naturally, they were F U R I O U S

they trashed all his games and put him on lockdown basically, escorting him to and from school to make sure he actually went

sungil was pretty much miserable constantly and felt like a prisoner

his solution to this was to pretty much just run away?? with what little money he had, and even stealing some from his parents on the way out, at eighteen years old sungil decided to just skip town entirely

this was how he ends up in yongsa, with his plan being to stay with a friend he’d only ever spoken to in-game before

it wasn’t so bad for a while, but he still struggled greatly with depression and self worth issues

not knowing much else, he continued to play games and was eventually scouted for his talents by a small regional team

so now he kind of plays overwatch for a living, earning money from competitions and streaming, cool

at ninteen he moved out of his friends house and into the sharehouse. he’s been here for a year now

he’s kind of a mystery to some people, being reluctant to explain his history and instead putting on a cheery front 24/7 because if he didn’t make himself laugh and smile all the time he’d probably throw himself out the nearest window or sumn

WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS

1 || kind of a long shot, but i think it would be neat to interact with someone he used to game with a lot a couple of years back? alternatively, someone he games a lot with currently. as competitive as he is, he likes most games equally, and doesn’t mild chilling with some low effort ones just for fun from time to time

5 || a crush. puppy love. despite being twenty years old, he’s never actually dated before, or had a relationship of any kind. he’s clueless when it comes to romance, and is lowkey kind of whipped. he’s not sure how to explain his feelings, but when they walk in the room he’s tongue tied and 3 seconds away from a heart palpitation. can be one-sided. any gender is ok.

CHAPTER 5: THE LOVE POTION

You saw the elevator about to close and saw someone in it.

“Ah wait, hold on!” You cried out and managed to slip into the elevator before it closed completely.

You realized that the person had a hood over their head and was turned around so you couldn’t see their face.

“Which floor?”, the voice sounded like a woman’s.

“The 5th.”

“The 5th floor? Isn’t that all Suga’s floor?”

“Yeah, do you know Suga? Are you a client?” You then thought about it, “That’s odd, I don’t remember there being an appointment today…”

The figure turned and you saw that it didn’t have a head. You jump and give a cry of surprise, very startled and freaked out by the figure. You studied it and wondered if this was an illusion or a mannequin. It then moved again and you screamed again as the elevator opened with a ding.

You ran out of the elevator as fast as you can and went straight to Suga’s office. You saw that he was on the phone looking like he was having a serious conversation, but you were freaked out by the figure that looked straight from a horror movie.

“Suga! Suga!” You exclaimed as you rushed to his side and huddled against him, frightened. He paused and looked you, eyebrows raised.

“Y/N, recently your expressions of affection are getting stronger and stronger.” Suga said, gently pushing you off him, “You like me, don’t you?”

“That’s not it!” You cried, “in the elevator there was a figure with no head…” you noticed the figure had followed you and was at the doorway, “There it is!”

The figure put her hands on her hips, “Hey, I’m not that scary! There’s no need to run away like that…”

Suga stared at the figure and narrowed his eyes, he brought the phone to his ear again, “Yeah, I’ll call you back. I seem to have a…visitor...yes, it’s her.”

He then hung up and gave the figure a furious look, “Rose! What are you going here?”

“Wait, how did you know it was me?”

It seems Suga knows this headless figure, I should have known. Also, how is she talking, she has no mouth...

“I can tell from your voice.” This was the angriest you’ve seen Suga and you wonder what this Rose has done to him, “Why did you come here? I told you that I didn’t want to see your face for 100 years!”

“That’s why I left my face behind!” Rose insisted, walking up to Suga, “So everything should be fine!”

Suga was not amused, “Go back to normal right now! It’s even more disturbing to see a headless ghost.”

Rose laughed, “If you wanted to see my face that badly, I guess I’ll let you.”

Her head appeared, “Are you satisfied?” She had a beaming smile, “You missed me, didn’t you? Aren’t you happy now that you’ve seen me?”

“…Rose, your head is still not connected.”

Sure enough, her head was floating around not connected to her body. You thought it was even weirder and now the body was trying to chase the head. She literally looked like a chicken running without a head.

“Help me, Suga!!” Rose cried out as she struggled to catch her head and you saw Suga’s mood grow even more sour.

He did got up though and helped Rose put her head back to her body.

Rose beamed and turned to Suga, “Hey Suga, to tell you the truth…I was hoping I could live here for a while. That’s okay, right? Right?”

She seemed like a puppy, very happy and overactive. Suga looked like the owner who couldn’t quite control it and was very irritated at it.

“Definitely not.” Suga said flatly, “I don’t want you here.”

Rose pouted, tears forming in her eyes, “You’re too much! Right now I’m a poor, sad, homeless, shrineless magician girl.”

Suga didn’t fall for her bait, “Why don’t you have a house? Don’t you live in a castle in the country?”

“My house was invaded!”

Suga raised his eyebrows and she made a face.

“Okay, that’s not true. See…” Rose bit her lip, then said her story with such grandeur, “there was a fire, right? And everything was burned. It was an old castle, you see, so it burned really really fast. You know that we can’t get insurance, so I lost everything!”

Somehow you didn’t quite believe her story and neither did Suga.

He narrowed his eyes as her, “…tell me the truth. All of it. What did you do this time? Every time you mess something up, I get stuck having to clean it up. You haven’t changed a bit in the last 10,000 years!”

She pouted and looked around the room, she then took to notice of you.

“Oh yeah? Who’s that? It can’t possibly be your girlfriend…”

“Assistant, and don’t change the topic.” Suga snapped.

“I’m also here...” You said, a bit peeved they were talking about you as if you’re not in the room.

“Ah so she’s a servant.” Rose skipped over to you, “Hey assistant, I’m hungry. Make me some food fit for royalty!”

You gave her an incredulous look and looked at Suga for help; he looked like he was nursing a huge headache and was silently begging you to distract her. You sighed and got up from the couch.

“Alright, we’ll see what Suga has in the kitchen.”

Rose clapped, “Yay! Let’s eat!”

“One meal and you’re out.” Suga warned but Rose just grabbed your hands and happily skipped past him.

You gave him a glare but he picked up his phone, “I have an important call I have to make, so please distract her for a bit.”

You sighed and nodded, “Okay, but you owe me big time. You have to take me out to someplace yummy next Sunday.”

“Deal.” He said and you followed Rose out the office to the kitchen.

“So…”, you said as you searched thorough the cabinets of the kitchen, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Suga that upset—what did you do to him?”

She pouted, “Why does everyone assume I’m the one to blame? I’m only trying to be helpful. Suga was the one that hurt my feelings by not staying in that tree like I asked him to.”

You paused, connecting the dots, “Wait…you were the one that trapped Suga in that tree 18 years ago?”

“Yeah, isn’t he childish? Why get so worked up over a little thing like that?”

“Err…” You didn’t quite understand, “Why did you lock him up in a tree in the first place?”

Mind you, he could be difficult at times, but locking him up in a tree is excessive.

“Well you see, when I create a new spell I like to test it out on Suga.” Rose said brightly, “I was practicing escape magic that day. I didn’t get the spell right and had to figure out where I went wrong. You see, teacher always said that if I made a mistake, I should solve it myself. So then I spent the next ten years working on my escape magic. But while I was struggling to finish my training, Suga didn’t care at all! He just disappeared on his own--isn’t that too much?”

You manage to find some ramen but were in such a state of shock by her twisted words that you just stared at her. Doesn’t she see what’s wrong with what she just said?

“And then,” Rose continued, “when I finally found out where he was, he told me he didn’t want to see me face!” She started to cry, “He’s terrible, so cold-hearted—he’s always like that!”

“Always?” You asked hesitatingly as you found a pot to make the ramen in.

“Yes! Like that time I was practicing transformation magic and I turned him into a kitten for seven years…and that time I was practicing levitation magic and pushed him off a 50-story building and became flat like a pancake…he was always cold-hearted, saying things like I don’t want to see your face for 100 years and don’t come near me again….isn’t it okay if magician occasionally make mistakes?”

“…It’s not occasionally.” You muttered, but she didn’t hear, caught up in her monologue.

“Ans there’s more…” Rose said as she examined the tea.

There are more?, you thought, I never thought I’d say this, but poor Suga.

“Of course, my biggest mistake was when I tried to make a love potion for the first time…”

“Wait, love potion?”

Is that what Suga meant by having loved before?

“Yeah, Teacher got really mad at me--he destroyed all my hard work and banned me from using magic for five years.” She pouted.

Rose then turned to you with a grin, “Hey assistant! Aren’t you curious on how Suga acts when he’s in love?”

You tried to picture Suga in love, shuddered at the image, and turned back to cutting onions, “Nope, not really.”

“Huh? Why not? Don’t you think it will be fun?”

“No, I get goosebumps just thinking about it. The thought of someone like Suga, who has such a terrible personality, falling in love…it’s just too strange.”

“Wow, such harsh words…did you get that nastiness from him? Is it contagious? He has no compassion at all! Suga is so cold-hearted and rude that he’s practically handicap. You see, Suga’s teacher died before he was able to teach him everything.”

“Teacher? That’s right, I’ve wondering for a while now. Who’s Suga’s teacher? And how many more of his disciples are there?”

You figured the teacher was some crotchety old man with a long white beard, someone with infinite wisdom and patience (especially if he had to deal with Suga and Rose!)

“Ah teacher, our teacher. He always said things I couldn’t understand…and then he died before I was able to figure him out.”

“What about the other students? Were there others besides you and J?”

“Out of the seven students, the nicest one, J, and a few others either died or disappeared. I wonder why nice people always die young…it’s a miracle I’ve lived so long….the only ones left are cold-blooded Suga, that weird V, whose thoughts I could never figure out, and the scary old man RM….RM….He’s a grumpy old man who is always lecturing me about everything. He’s always very mean to me and criticize everything I do. Why does he always take it out on me…?”

You looked at Rose, she seemed lost in her own thoughts.

“Why are you standing there in a daze?” You asked her as you took the pot out of the stove to cool down, “Your Royal Ramen is done. Eat.”

Rose looked down at the ramen and frowned, “Isn’t this just ramen?”

“I’m telling you, it’s ‘royal’ ramen.”

Just eat the ramen, you thought, I went though all the trouble to prepare it for you!

Rose turned away, “I don’t eat things like this, I’ll just have tea with Suga later.”

This brat!, you cursed her in your thoughts.

“Fine,” you set the ramen aside and went towards the tea, “I’ll serve your tea then—”

“No!” Rose rushed ahead of you and got the tray before you, “I want to serve the tea myself, if you don’t mind. I have some private things I want to discuss with Suga anyway.”

You shrugged, “Okay, whatever. Tell Suga I’m here in the kitchen.”

There’s only so much Rose I can take.

She smiled and walked out of the room, “He’ll be…preoccupied, so if you’re done with your duties you can leave.”

You glared at her as she left, who is she to order me around? I only answer to Suga. Wait…am I really getting mad at being able to go home early? I must be crazy. Still, it’s mean if I leave Suga all alone with Rose. I’ll stay and make sure that everything goes well and she doesn’t end up locking him in the teapot or something.

You then looked at the ramen, well it’s her lost. I’m going to eat it. You brought out some chopsticks and started to eat. It was pretty good, if you had to say so yourself. You didn’t had time to eat before you came here, so you were pretty hungry.

You suddenly heard a commotion near the lobby and the bell ringing. Strange, there shouldn’t be any visitors at this time...You decide to check it out and tell them to reschedule, since Suga is currently busy. You sat on the reception desk and opened the window to greet the people who ringed the bell and the sight made your blood run cold. The lobby was filled with people, you’ve never seen the lobby so crowded before. They looked almost like zombies, with a blank stare, and they kept muttering. Some were wearing maid outfits, others chefs, others wore fancy evening clothes. The one thing they had in common was that they were calling out Rose’s name.

“Rose! Please, let me see her.”

“I love you, Rose, please be mine.”

“I live for you and only you, Rose!”

“Um...can I help you?” You asked tentatively, not sure how to react.

“We need to see Rose.” A man dressed as a chef told you, “We must speak to her.”

“...she’s not here...” you said, knowing that this cannot be good.

Maybe this is what she meant by the invasion on her home...

“She’s here, we know!” Said a maid angrily and the others agreed.

“Let us see her!”

“Why are you keeping her from us?”

“Please let us see our love.”

They tried to open the door and you were so thankful that it was locked.

This is really weird, you thought as you quickly shut the window before they became any more aggressive.

I think Suga can handle this, you thought as you rushed to his office. Neither him nor Rose was there. Odd, you thought, didn’t Rose came in here not even ten minutes ago to drink tea and talk to him?

You didn’t have much time to think about it, because they were now knocking at the door and shouting and you wondered how long they could be appeased. I gotta find Suga. You ran down the hallway, checking the rooms. Nope, not either of the treasure rooms, not in the bathroom, not in the kitchen or the living room…the last door was to his bedroom. You saw a sign that said ‘DO NOT DISTURB’. You ignored it, this was an emergency, he can sleep later. You found it locked, but remembered the method Jin taught you to pick a lock—so you used your credit card and opened the door. You burst through the door.

“Suga! Quick, there’s a situation!”

You found it odd that Suga was standing in the room, staring at you, but you didn’t have time. When you saw that he didn’t seem to make a move, you went up to him and grabbed his wrist to drag him towards the lobby.

You looked at him and frowned at his expression, “Why do you look so weird?”

He didn’t answer you but you finally got to the door and opened it, revealing the people, “Look at these people!”

Suga looked away from you and glanced at the people, “…what’s wrong?”

You gave him an incredulous look, “What’s wrong? Don’t you see all these people shouting ‘I love you, Rose’? Obviously they’re not in their right minds…”

A man in front of you was sobbing, “Please, let me see her…”

“See?” You said, turning to Suga, but he wasn’t looking at them. He was staring at you.

“Um, Suga…”

“I don’t see them.” Suga said as he stepped closer to you and took your hand, “All I can see right now is you.” He brought your hand up and kissed it.

Your eyes widened as you snatched your hand away from him, “W-what are you doing? This isn’t the time to play around!”

“Play around?” Suga frowned, “Please, don’t mock my love in such a way.”

“Oh my god,” you muttered, completely in shock, “Suga’s gone crazy—that’s literally the only explanation.”

“Yes, you’re right,” Suga said, stepping towards you and stroking your cheek, “I’m crazy in love. Please accept me.”

“G-get away from me!” You stammered, at a lost at what to do. You’ve never seen Suga act like this, “Stop it!” You tried to get away but found he had grabbed your hand again and had a tight grip.

“Suga, seriously—what the hell!” You were now panicking, the look in his eyes were so intense, you’ve never seen his face so expressive before, “I-If you don’t stop, I’m…I’m going to….to turn into a chicken!”

Wow, I’m a idiot.

“Then I’ll turn into a chicken with you.” He said seriously.

Never mind, he’s a bigger idiot.

You figured his weird behavior had something to do with Rose, she was the last person he saw before he became…like this. You pushed away and said, “Where’s Rose?”

“I sent her away.” Suga said and you cried out in frustration, “Are you okay, love? I feel your frustration.”

“No I’m not okay!” You cried out and closed the door before anyone of the hoard forced their way inside.

Suga frowned, “Is there anyway I can make you feel better?”

“Well you can start by taking me to where you sent Rose.” You demanded, “....please.” You added as an afterthought.

“Since you said please...” He walked down the hallway and pushed on a brick, revealing a secret door you’ve never seen before, “She’s in there.”

You reached for the door then turned to Suga, “I need you to stay here.”

“Why?” He asked, pouting.

“Please, don’t follow me.” You said firmly as you opened the door and entered the room. Thankfully Suga didn’t try to follow you as you closed the door behind you and you sighed in relief. It seemed like another bedroom and you saw that Rose was in the big bed in the middle of the room—sound asleep in it.

“Rose!” You called out as you ran up to her, but she didn’t even stir, “I can’t believe this!”

You tried to shake her awake, “Get up, you evil witch! This isn’t the time to be sleeping! Wake up!”

“Leave her alone. Once the sun goes down, she falls asleep like a corpse and doesn’t wake up until sunrise ” You heard a deep voice and stopped, turning to a corner of the room you didn’t see before. A young, handsome man was leaning against the wall, “If waking her up could have solved this problem, I wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of calling Suga and listen to all those insults just to ask for a wish.”

You looked at the strange man, “Who are you?”

“RM…RM! You just wait…” you heard Rose mutter in her sleep, “You rotten old man, one day I’ll…”

RM chuckled as he looked at Rose tossing and turning, “Rose, what kind of grudge do you have against me that you keep calling out my name in your sleep?”

“Huh? Then you’re that RM?”

“That RM, this RM…would there be anyone else with such a weird name?”

“Don’t try to trick me!” You said, walking up to him, “Rose clearly said that RM was an old man, but you don’t look much older than me!”

“I recovered my youth by drinking the blood of 3,000 young virgin girls. You look fresh and tasty.”

Panicking, you said, “I-I’m not a virgin! I’ve slept with many, many men thank you very much.”

He smirked, showing his dimples, “It’s a joke. Kids these days have no sense of humor. What a shame…”

You frowned, “This isn’t the time to make silly jokes!”

You felt like you want to cry; this day has been stressful enough without some guy joking about drinking your blood.

RM sighed as he got up and walked towards Rose, “It’s true that I’m very old and that Rose has never seen my face. So she naturally assumed I was an old man.”

“Why hasn’t Rose seen your face?” You asked, confused.

“I have to avoid sunlight,” RM answered, “so I conceal my face during the day. And, as you can see, this child goes to sleep right after sunset, so she doesn’t know how I really look.” He frowned as he tucked Rose in under the covers, “Stop moving around so much, you’re making a mess out of the covers, stay still.”

“Mmmm...don’t scold me, old man...” Rose muttered in her sleep.

Hmm…I can see how Rose will mistake him for an old man, you thought, he speaks like an old man and his voice is pretty husky…

“Wait, that doesn’t matter. Who are are all those people in the lobby and what happened to Suga?”

“That’s all because of the love potion.”, RM answered, “Rose swore to bring love to Suga but the potion that the teacher destroyed many years ago was really hard to make again. So she did endless experiments on her servants and guests.”

“Wait,” You said, “they’re her guinea pigs? That’s why they love Rose?”

RM sighed, wiping some drool off of Rose’s face, “Yes, that immature kid said it was all for Suga, but in the process she messed up the lives of all those people…and now Suga’s life, because he drank the potion, and your life, as the object of his affection, will be destroyed too.”

“W-what?” You cried out, wait he drank some love potion and that’s why he’s acting strange?, “Wait, why is my life ruined as well?”

RM studied you, his expression almost pitiful, “If you know beforehand, you won’t be able to get any sleep tonight.”

“What?”

“Kids need their sleep. I’ll send you to your house so you can have a good night’s rest. Starting tomorrow, your life will be completely ruined. You should at least have pleasant dreams tonight….I just hope that Suga doesn’t go as far as he did all those years ago…”

Before you could say anything, RM waved his hand and you were teleported to your bedroom. You didn’t move for the longest time, still shocked by everything RM told you.

How can I even sleep with that ominous parting message?, you thought.

You didn’t have a restful sleep at all. You kept tossing and turning, thinking about what RM told you and remembering Suga’s strange behavior. When you finally were able to sleep, you ended up oversleeping and had to hurry to get ready for school. You ran out of your apartment building when you caught sight of Suga.

“Suga!” You exclaimed in panic, you almost didn’t recognize him.

He wasn’t wearing his customary suit and tie, but an oversized sweater, jeans, a coat, and a scarf. You had to admit he looked very good in casual clothes, really human. The thing that shocked you the most, though, was that his hair was no longer blue, but the same shade your hair was.

“Good morning.” He said.

“Your hair...”

“I thought I needed a change and decided on this color. Do you like it?”

You had to admit that he did look good in that color, but quickly snapped out of it.

“Sorry Suga, I wish could stay and chat, but I need to go to school...”

“Don’t go.”

“No, I’m already late I can’t--”

Suga gave you a gummy smile, “Don’t go, stay and play with me.”

This was the first time you’ve seen him truly smile and you felt your heart race by how handsome he looks when he smiles. You were almost tempted to do what he says.

“No!” You shook your thoughts, get a hold of yourself, this isn’t the real Suga, “I must do my best as a student. See you later!”

Suga pouted, “Is that so? Then I guess there’s nothing I can do. Let’s go together.”

You froze, “What?”

“I want to see what you learn in that school, let’s go.”

“But--”

He took your hand and started to walk. You tried to wrench free but his grip was tight.

“Suga, really you can’t--”

“Don’t worry, my love.” Suga said, “I’ll be good.”

“Please stop following me”, you tried again, “how much further are you going to go?”

“As far as you go.”

Ah! I’m going crazy, you thought, I really can’t have him follow me everywhere. What I need is a distraction...

“Oh look!” You pointed to the opposite direction you were going to, “a UFO!”

Surprisingly, it worked and Suga looked.

“Where?”

You took advantage and ran like hell before he noticed. You reached your campus and had to stop to catch your breath; you really need to start exercising more. You started to walk again when a boy accidentally bumped into you.

“Sor--” He started to say but was interrupted by a voice.

“Don’t touch her.”

You turned and saw a furious Suga stalking up to the kid. Oh no.

“Excuse me, but--”

Suga grabbed hold of his shirt, his eyes flashing, “Do you want to die? No? Then don’t do around touching something that it not yours.”

His?, you thought, did he refer to you as a possession?

The man stuttered, “I-I’m sorry, I’ll be more c-careful next time.”

He shrank as Suga brought his face real close, “And don’t forget it,”He let go of his shirt and the boy scurried off. You just looked at Suga in shock. He was really going to kill that poor boy...

With a heavy heart, you walked into your class, closely followed by Suga.

Hyelin smiled and waved you over, “Hey Y/N! Why are you so late? I saved you a seat.”

Before you could reply, Suga was already glaring at Hyelin, “Who are you to save her a seat? What relationship do you have with her?”

Hyelin shot you a look of confusion “Who’s he?”

Suga leaned over at Hyelin, “Don’t look at her—answer me.”

“I-I’m Y/N’s closest friend…but—”

Suga looked shocked, “Closest friend?”

Fearing the worst, you faked a bright smile and led him to an empty chair, “What are you talking about? Closest friend? I don’t know her! Here, sit next to me.”

You shot an apologetic look to Hyelin and she said, “What?”

“I’m sorry Hyelin, but if you don’t want to die, just sit somewhere else.” You whispered to her. Hyelin saw your desperate look and nodded, “Fine, but you’re going to have to explain to me later.”

You quickly sat down next to Suga, noticing that your little spat caused a commotion and people were murmuring all around you.

You looked at Suga, who had a content expression, “Are you happy now that you’re next to me?”

He shot you a smile, “Yes.”

The teacher started to lecture, but you turned to Suga.

“It’s fine for this class since there’s so many students, but my next class there’s only a few of us so the teacher would notice…”

“I refuse.” Suga simply said.

“Hey, if you really love me, can’t you listen to what I said, at least once? Isn’t that what true love is?”

“Didn’t I already listen to what you said once?”

“When?”

“Last night. When you told me to not follow you, I didn’t. I waited until morning to follow you, even though it pained me.”

You stared at him, wondering what have you done in a past life to deserve this, “Actually when you love someone you should listen to them more than once! Twice, three times, all the time. So please leave after this class.”

“Sorry, but you know I can only grant one wish.” Suga said with a smirk and you groaned.

“Ah! I’m going crazy!” You dropped your head against the desk in defeat.

“Ah, Y/N, nice for you to volunteer.” Your teacher said and you quickly brought your head up. Oh no. “Why don’t you go ahead and translate page 45 in your textbook?”

Right, this is English class, you felt dread wash over you.

“Well, why don’t we listen to our cute Y/N’s excellent English pronunciation.”

“Ah yes.” You murmur, giving a side glance at Suga in panic. Please don’t call me cute.

Because your English pronunciation was good, you were Professor Kim’s favorite in the class and he was an old man that liked the compliment his students a lot. Usually that was fine...but not when you have a possessive stalker lover next to you.

“Come up and read, cutie Y/N.”

You quickly opened your book to the page and spared a glance at Suga. He looked absolutely furious.

Oh shit-

“Who are you calling ‘your cutie’! She’s my cutie!” Suga roared as he threw his desk, fire in his eyes.

“Oh my god I’m so embarrassed.” You groaned as you walked by the park, with Suga in tow, “I don’t know if I can show my face in that class again. The classroom was completely destroyed so now my class has to share with another one.” You turned to Suga as tears began to form in your eyes, “You heartless stalker! Aren’t you even a bit sorry?”

Suga looked at you, then turned away, “I’m not sorry at all. I saw this is a movie once--love means never having to say you’re sorry.”

“You’re horrible!” You cried out, “How is this love? I’m in anguish because of you!”

Suga frowned as his eyes started to grow tears too, “I know you’re in anguish. My magic makes me empathetic so I feel what you feel. I’m suffering too. But I don’t know what else to do. I forgot the right way to love a long time ago. If no one shows me what to do, I’ll never understand it.”

You felt your face soften at his cute pout.

“Well...okay. I’ll teach you how to love. Little by little.”

Suga perked up, “Really?”

“Yeah, what do you want to learn first? Ask me anything, I’ll teach it to you.”

Suga smirked as he walked up to you and stroked your cheek, wiping a remaining tear away, “How about how to kiss?”

You almost choked on your saliva. Oh my god, please, let Suga turn back to normal soon! Rose, you evil witch, what did you do to him?

You pushed him away, “You bastard! Can’t you show a little basic human decency?”

“But I’m not human...”

“Stop playing with my words!” You cried out in frustration, “I agree to teach you about love out of the kindness of my heart and the first thing you want to do is kiss? You pervert! Such things come later, much later, when both parties like each other!”

You arrived at a playground and Suga sat on the swings.

“You don’t do it from the start?” Suga asked in surprise, “You’re not supposed to? That must be why that person got so mad back then...”

“What? What person?”

“Someone I loved a long time ago. When I tried kissing, that person almost killed me. So I thought that I had done it wrong.”

“What kind of person was it?” You asked, curious. I want to hear their side of the story, if it’s anything like mine...

“Do you really want to know? Then here, watch what I draw...” Suga crouched down to the sand, got a stick and started to draw on the ground. You watched him draw and had to admit he looked pretty cute. He was almost like a little kid. If only he would lose that stalker personality, this wouldn’t be so bad...

Suga turned around and looked at you. He then gave you that gummy smile of his and you couldn’t help but smile back. He looks so adorable. You then heard his phone ring but he didn’t move to answer the phone.

“Uh…Suga, your phone’s ringing.”

Suga answered the phone, “Yes, RM?...Rose is in trouble? If I don’t hurry she’ll be cut into pieces…?”

That’s right!, you thought, we just left Rose with that horde of stalkers! We’re in big trouble—this is no time to be talking about love. If we don’t hurry—

“Nope, I can’t go.” Suga simply said, “I’m on a date right now. You guys will need to solve this problem by yourselves.”

He promptly hung up the phone and you looked at him in shock.

“You…you better get over there now!” Suga ignored you and continued to draw in the dirt with his stick, “What are you doing? Go to Rose now! Aren’t you scared that your friend is in danger?”

“I don’t need friends.” Suga said, turning to you, “The only important thing is love, right? Let’s focus on ourselves.”

Ugh, there’s not getting through him, you thought, but if we don’t hurry Rose might actually die. What can I…you got an idea.

You smirked at Suga and grabbed his scarf, bringing him close to you, “Fine then, do you really want to play? You know, there’s always something I’ve always wanted to do once I got a boyfriend…you’ll help, right?”

Suga looked at you in fascination, “What’s that?”

You giggled as you got up, bringing him up with you, “Well…” You suddenly let go and started to run, “Run, honey! Catch me if you can!”

Hopefully this works, you thought as he ran after you.

He was enthusiastic at first, but after a while Suga grew bored of running.

“Can we stop now? How much further are you going to go? I want to play something else.”

You were already out of breath, but you forced yourself to say, “Now, honey, if you stop now I’ll cry! We have to go all the way back home.”

You lamented on how you got into this mess. You swore that when you see Rose, you’ll give her divine punishment. By some miracle, you were able to reach the elevator. Suga brought you into his arms.

“Got you.” He said happily, “Do I get my prize now?”

Prize, what prize? Did I mentioned a prize? Oh crap, I didn’t think this far ahead.

He brought you closer and you didn’t know if the racing of your heart is from the exercise or his close proximity. Suga leaned forward but before he can kiss you, you heard the elevator ding. Thankful for the distraction, you quickly slip from his arms and laughed.

“C’mon, let’s go inside.”

Man, being flirty is exhausting, you thought.

He pouted but followed you into his office. You heard a crash and your heart sank. You ran to the direction of the noise and saw that the horde tore open a hole where the secret bedroom you found last night was. You saw Rose and RM, who was completely covered, and Rose looked very pale.

“My lady,” the man with the axe said, “let’s stop playing hide and seek now. We already explained and don’t want to annoy you anymore, that’s why we’ll divide you into equal pieces for all of us!”

He was about to strike Rose with the axe, but RM shoved her out of the way and was struck instead. Rose cried out as blood began to pour everywhere and you just noticed that Suga was next to you. Before the man could strike again, Suga snapped his fingers and the horde disappeared.

It was silent as Rose began to sob over RM’s body.

“No!”

“…your love potion is truly amazing, Rose.” Suga said, “One of my few friends died, but I’m not even sad nor do I want revenge for his death…the only thing I can think of is Y/N….I hate myself. Is this what you meant by helping me become a better person?”

Rose sobbed, “No, no, it’s not! All I wanted…you see…the only person I wished to impress…the only person I wanted to impress is lying dead in front of me!” She fell unto her knees and sobbed into her hands.

Suga stepped toward Rose, “Rose…it’s late, but here’s a present from RM.”

“What?”

“RM asked me for a wish. It was troublesome to grant it, but I had no choice. He wanted me to give all of his magic powers to you. He was willing to sacrifice all his magic and be a regular human for you to prevent you from doing the same mistakes he made.”

“He told me,” Rose murmured, “About how he made a love potion so powerful that even the sun fell in love with him and that’s why he had to hide from the sun. But what you end up taking from him?”

“A way to cancel the effects of the love potion.” Suga answered, “He spent his entire life looking for a way to break that kind of spell.”

“But…why did he make such a sacrifice…? He could have been just fine, if never cared for someone as worthless as me!”

“For two reasons. Look Rose, I’m no expert on love, but love takes many forms. When people fall in love, some become stalkers, some want to be acknowledged by others… and some endlessly criticize the person they love. He loved you. You were always important to him. You didn’t have to seek out his recognition. Just by living and breathing…he was grateful for that alone.”

“And the second reason?” Rose asked, looking at RM’s body.

“I think you already know.” Suga answered.

SUGA’S P.O.V

Suga examined his old friend, all healthy and alive.

“Damn, you really are a devious old man.”

“What, I am?”

“You were one of the most powerful magicians in the universe, even messing around with life itself. You knew that the magic used to revive the dead would be passed on to Rose, so that’s why you used your body, right?” Suga couldn’t help but be impressed by RM, “That little show was pretty effective, I doubt Rose will be careless about magic anymore.”

RM smiled, “Your teacher always told me I was the only one who could deal with Rose, it seemed like a good lesson for her.”

“True. A single wish eliminated all the love potions, plus you knew you’d come back from the dead. You killed two birds with one stone. It’s very rare for someone to achieve your level of sneakiness.”

“Who asked you to break the love spell on the sun?” RM said, smiling as he looked out the window, “I didn’t say anything about that. You’re just soft-hearted.”

Suga looked at RM in surprise, “Soft-hearted? Me?”

“Go ahead and deny it, but you’ve been like that since childhood. But during this past year, you seemed to have changed a bit…”

“Changed? How?”

RM turned and studied Suga, “Hmm…how can I describe it?...you’ve become more expressive. More…human.”

Suga couldn’t help but think of you, and that somehow you were to blame for this change. You were, after all, a very bad influence. Not that he’ll ever admit this to RM.

Suga snorted as he turned away, “Ridiculous. I’m a bloodless, tearless, emotionless magician.”

RM wasn’t fooled though, “You’re giving off a different vibe. The new you looks better…but I’m a little worried. Your newfound humanity may become a weakness. Be careful, V is back and hiding behind a new face.”

Suga stiffened at the mention of the fellow disciple. V.

“I’ll be fine.” Suga said, “I’ve dealt with V once, I’m sure I can deal with him again.”

Status Update: 12/19/18

Me: Ooo! Transformers comic! My brain: No. Bad. You can't read a series out of order. Me: It says one shot right on the cover! My brain: It's still part of a series. You'll have no idea what's going on. Me: Then I'll have to track down more! My brain: You do know the series ends in misery. Me: Then I won't read the end. My brain: ... Me: ... Me: I could write a better ending anyway. Unicron is stupid. My brain: You don't need more plot bunnies. Me: I NEED ALL THE PLOT BUNNIES AND MUST FIX ALL THE THINGS.

Ahem. But in seriousness, guess who visited a comic shop yesterday. ;) They actually had the entire Unicron miniseries and some of the late Lost Light issues too, but... Well, who wants to begin reading at the point where all the characters die?

I did also get this, though:

I’ll be honest, I only grabbed it off the shelf because it has Trixie on the cover and she’s my favorite pony outside the Mane 6 (not to mention one half of exactly two ships I sail after more than 7 seasons of watching. And for those who care enough to want to know, I ship her with Starlight Glimmer). Actually, with Tempest on there, both of the aforementioned ships are represented (my brain decided to ship her with Twilight because of one glance in the movie, so shoot me).

Anyway! Ponies aside, I apologize for being so quiet lately. Between getting sick, NaNoWriMo, work, the holidays, and looking for other work, it’s been a busy couple of months (oh, and getting mad at Tumblr for banning visual NSFW. That was a thing that happened). On the bright side, I cleared Nano for the first time ever, and drafted no fewer than eight chapters for Unleashed in the process! At the moment I don’t know when I’ll have them ready for posting, as I have a lot of editing to do before they’re done - plus some plot points to work out - but my hope is to begin a regular update schedule in January.

In other news, tomorrow marks the first day of Yule, so I thought I would share a few fic recs, songs, and other fun stuff over the next several days. Including a rant about the movie The Notebook, inspired by someone trying to tell me that it’s “a sappy and cute romance” (what do you mean that’s not fun? Rants are always fun!). My plan is to que it all up, but Tumblr hasn’t let me save drafts since they started messing with the site again, so we’ll see if it objects to ques.

And yes, I do plan to leave Tumblr, though not immediately. I’ll be transferring to Pillowfort eventually, and technically have an account there, though I haven’t done anything with it yet. As long as there are people here who want to see my stuff I’ll be around, I suspect. Until I can’t handle it anymore.

I believe that’s all for now, but keep an eye out for the upcoming fun stuff! And seriously, if anyone can suggest a good location to acquire IDW Transformers comics from, drop me a link! Early comics preferred, because as I understand it, things began to... fall apart around the time of Lost Light and Optimus Prime (not to mention I’m currently outlining a story in which Rung appears, and I really prefer to get the base for my characterizations straight from the source material).

1. How did you begin writing? I was writing from childhood. My primary school tutor was really encouraging so I started posting fanfic on FF.net illegally at like age 9. It was bad. When I was about 13 I started doing online RP and fell in with a group of brilliant people who helped me keep that up for YEARS and is kinda how I got into writing properly, not my shitty childhood fanfic.

2. What was your first writing project? Tell us a little about it. Like I said, shitty childhood fanfic. First legit project though would probably be last years NaNoWriMo (where you write 50k in a month). I wrote the first draft of a high fantasy kinda thing I’m working on but like the entire plot of that has been scrapped and I’m starting from scratch this year so...

3. What is your preferred medium for writing first drafts? Oh, I use ywriter 5 (link here) it’s like a free program that lets you write (without a spell check importantly so I don’t stop) and like add in like character and location and item tabs so you can keep track of what and who appears in the story and what each scene fulfills and shit. Imma shut up before this turns into an add but it’s really good and yall should check it out (even if I basically just use the POV system myself)

4. What rituals or habits do you have around writing?

I don’t really have any I don’t think? For me it’s kinda just sit down and go for as long as I’ve got the motivation. Usually late at night admittedly but yeah there’s nothing particularly consistent about the way I write.

5. We all have a “type”– of character, plot, theme– what is yours? I feel called out.

Probably wit though. Across all my characters RP, actual story, weves, I like the snarky asshole ones. I’m weak for that banter.

Also kinda both theme/character: good characters bore the shit out of me. I like ‘em morally grey or immoral and as such I write a lot about the subjective nature of morality in my original shit.

6. Introduce us to one (or more!) of your OC’s. Right so my current original shit has 6 mains and asking me to choose between them is inhumane so you get the 4 starting ones and the other two will remain a mystery.

Ren --> Brings a knife to a gun fight because ‘you gotta live life on hard mode’, makes bad choices for fun, stupidly reckless, very loyal but issues with authority. Military deserter turned pirate. Unofficial leader of this band of misfits.

Marcel --> Brings 2 knives to a gun fight because he is both a follower and coward. Just here for a laff and a taste of freedom. Prince of a country but does not want to rule. Falls in love with the first man who pays attention to him. Alignment is chaotic dumbass.

Kia --> Supposed to be the party thief but ‘it’s easier to loot a corpse than pick a pocket’. An actual proper coward, will leave everyone else to die if it saves her. Can’t take anything seriously. Tries to life-hack everything. Thinks murder is the solution to everything.

Corvus --> Absolute pacifist regardless of the danger. RLLY into blackmail (and plants). Lowkey the token evil teammate. Perpetually rolling his eyes. Makes all the plans and then gets salty when no one follows them. Would sell you to Satan for one corn chip.

7. What’s your favorite genre to read? FANTASY! Which is why, despite only really writing fic for Carry On, I’ve not actually read any of Rainbow Rowell’s other work. Contemporary romance doesn’t really interest me.

Also I’m weak for anything featuring like crime, but the criminals doing the crime, not the crime solving.

8. Your favorite genre to write? Fantasy again! Both high and low but with a preference for high because I like to world build.

9. How do you conduct your authorial research? LMAO what?

Like I said I like to write high fantasy so I don’t so much research as like to perpetually learn and incorporating things I like in.

10. What does your editing (gasp) process look like? So in 3. I said ywriter doesn’t have spell check? For fanfic I give it a cursory read over and fix anything glaring, then I copy it into word and use spellcheck and also grammarly. Then to the betas for the final round (I should do more but also?? Just fanfic)

My NaNo project tho? Never got edited at all.

11. What are your favorite tropes? BRuh I love all the tropes. I am WEaK for tropes. So trimming down to the favs:

I have a weird thing for catagorising so I love me some Cast Calculus

I try but never quite succeed with Blue and Orange Morality

Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking barely counts but I love it

A comedic Rashomon AKA that thing where everyone is being interrogated and they all tell completely different stories

I high key love a Magnificent Bastard in any form

And I mean a nice round five would have been good but how can one resist a Deadpan Snarker

15. Your writing beverage/snack of choice? I drink a lot of tea but it usually goes cold.

16. How do you compile your ideas? I don’t mostly, it’s a bad habit. Sometimes I drop stuff in my phone for fanfic or I have a couple of pocket sized leather note books I used to carry around for my original shit.

Writing isn’t hard.

Originally and concepts and stringing together a proper story? Yeah it’s a challenge. But just writing? Nah. not for me at least. If I’m sitting in front of a blank word document it’s because I have a problem with the scene. It doesn’t happen that often but when it does I find the best thing to do is go back and redo the sequence because going off no 13. It probably means I’m not interested in the scene.

But that’s just my opinion so please extinguish your torches and put down the pitchforks.

DON BROCO. I still find them a recent discovery, and they’ve just released a 10/10 album Technology.

6: is there an artist whose solo career you prefer over their work with their band(s)?

Harry Styles hands down. I only liked one or two One Direction songs and I absolutely love most of Harry’s solo work, which is more mature, sexy and basically showing his full potential. I also much prefer solo Julian Casablancas over his work with The Strokes.

10: any bands you got into after seeing them live?

So many! Nothing But Thieves became one of my top bands after seeing them support Gerard Way, and I’ve been to 5 more of their gigs since - they gained a major fanbase in Poland. I feel in love with Palisades after seeing them open for Our Last Night. Also, in a major way, Creeper. I saw them open for Pierce The Veil and then was lucky enough to see them again, opening for All Time Low. In March I’ll see them open for ATL again! But live music in general has a huge potential of dragging people in, because your full focus is on the band currently onstage and you can really hear what their music is about. I love that.

Star Wars rewatch, part 5: Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith

General Impressions

I’ve been sitting on this review for a while because life has been busy lately – I’m starting a new job in a little over a week – and hadn’t gotten around to writing it. This film was a large part of why I wanted to do this rewatch, to see whether or not Revenge of the Sith was as good as I remembered it.

The answer is that I’d actually forgotten just how good this movie is. Like, seriously, I will fight you on this, RotS is a good movie. Not a great movie, and we will be talking about its flaws as I go along, most of which center around Padme. But it is a good movie, at least on par with Return of the Jedi.

It really does help, I think, to watch Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars immediately before this, not just because that film-length series ends right before RotS opens, but because there’s a certain stylistic match. A lot of the action moments in RotS feel very Tartakovsky-esque, and preceding this with an animated film made the CGI a lot more palatable – this looks very much like an animated film, just with live action performers filling in the human parts. It’s a definite upgrade from the previous sequels, sometimes looking absolutely gorgeous, especially on Coruscant.

Also upgraded? The acting. Hayden Christiansen is massively improved in this film. While still not an Oscar-worthy performance or what have you, he’s on the level of the original actors in the first trilogy, which is to say competent most of the time, and occasionally even quite intensely compelling. It helps that he and Natalie Portman seem to have settled on how to handle their ridiculous romantic dialog, playing it as “Anakin can’t do romantic interactions well, Padme knows this, finds it charming, and teases him for it.” The lines are still awkward but played with an awareness of the awkwardness.

But speaking of romance, having rewatched these, how in love with Anakin was Obiwan? The answer is a lot. I know, I know, when they met Anakin was a child and that’s kind of creepy, but by the end of RotS it’s hard not to read Ewan MacGregor’s performance as more than a little bit smitten. It doesn’t help that in Clone Wars, he and Anakin have an exchange that is a literal copy-paste of Han and Leia.

The music is also killer for this film, and supplements all of the best scenes, like the tale of Darth Plagueis, Padme and Anakin on the balconies at sunset, the implements of Order 66, Obiwan and Anakin’s final battle…this is a well-made film, you guys. But let’s dig into some of the flaws.

Continuity, part 1: Relation to the Other Prequels

You know, if the mitochlorians had just been introduced as “a kind of symbiont that can spontaneously generate life” as an explanation for Shmi’s mysterious pregnancy, I don’t think people would’ve had a problem with it. It’s that it explains connectivity to the Force that nobody likes. So the reappearance of mitochlorians doesn’t bother me at all in this context.

I mentioned in my last post that one cut of Attack of the Clones that I enjoyed deleted Anakin confessing the murder of the Sand People to Padme, and while I support that change, it would make that Anakin told Palpatine the truth that much more disturbing. Palpatine is genuinely manipulating the fatherless Anakin in a disturbing way.

The biggest problem in relation to the other prequels, though, is the demotion of Padme to side character. She’s very passive in this film, as being increasingly pregnant limits her ability to be an action girl. But it didn’t have to be this way – there are a sequence of deleted scenes, some of which are redundant and thus wouldn’t be more than about 5 minutes, that depict Padme being one of the founding members of what became the Rebel Alliance. It’s an unfortunate cut not just because it would have kept Padme as a more active figure, but also because one scene has Palpatine trying to sow doubts in Anakin’s mind about Padme’s trustworthiness, setting up that he will snap at the end and kill her.

Continuity, part 2: Relation to the Original Series

Which brings us to Padme’s death, the other big flaw in her character in this film. That she has nothing physically wrong with her, she just “lost the will to live,” is the dumbest part of this film, and one that was almost immediately retconned. I understand that Lucas was trying to say that the psychological effect of everything that had happened to her had as much to do with her death as physical injuries, but it could have been something more like “we’ve done what we can to fix her, but the shock and emotional strain is inhibiting her body’s recovery process.”

More significantly, though, Padme shouldn’t have died yet. Leia says very clearly in Return of the Jedi that she remembers her mother, so unless Leia can remember events from her birth…or did Bail Organa’s wife also die, when Leia was very young? Leia must have known she was adopted, why does she not mention that instead?

When I was growing up watching the OT, I’d always assumed that Leia’s mother remarried Bail and passed off Leia as their daughter. That wouldn’t work with the trilogy as-is, because Bail is too prominent and it wouldn’t be a good place to hide her.

So let me propose an alternative scenario: Padme survives, but is clearly never going to recover from her injuries. Obiwan persuades her to divide up her children to keep them safe, with her keeping one and other sent to live with Anakin’s siblings. Padme lives in hiding on Alderaan for a few years before ultimately dying, and Bail adopts Leia. She remembers her biological mother and thinks of Bail as her father. Maybe he’s a single father; maybe he’s got a husband. Either way, it fills in that continuity gap.

The other dumb connection to the main trilogy is the random scene of Chewbacca knowing Yoda. I have no problem with Wookies being in this film, or with Chewbacca being a former general who had to go rogue after the war was over, but him knowing Yoda? Pointless fan service, doesn’t add anything to his character.

The best connection with the main trilogy is that ending, though. Critics are absolutely correct that the reveal of Darth Vader being accompanied by an anguished “NO!!!” isn’t a good transition into episode 4, where you need him to be a terrifying villain. But it is the perfect transition into episode 6, where you need to realize that he’s a broken, miserable, hollow human being. So yeah, the correct order for the first time watching is, indeed, 4-5-1-2-Clone Wars-3-6.

On every subsequent viewing, though, make it 4-5-Clone Wars-3-6. 1 and 2 just aren’t good enough to justify rewatch.

Continuity, part 3: Relation to the Current Series

There is still a part of me that wants Hayden Christiansen to get his redemption and reappear as Anakin’s Force ghost with a good script and a good director and yell at his grandson about how badly he is behaving. Failing that, Ewan MacGregor as Obiwan.

That said, the status of Force ghosts are still strange in this universe. In a deleted scene for RotS, Yoda gets a message from Qui-Gon that he’s learned to basically transition his body straight into a Force ghost at the point of death, which is why Yoda and Obiwan can appear after their deaths. The scene’s actually in the film, but there’s no voice over and so we’re left to figure out what message Yoda got from Qui-Gon by ourselves. But why doesn’t Qui-Gon appear in the OT? Is there a point chronologically after which you can’t do it, and that’s why we don’t have Force ghost Anakin yelling at Kylo? How did Anakin know how to do this if it was something new?

I kind of want to do a “Reimagined Prequel Trilogy” that fixes these hiccups, with the premise that Tartakovsky could remake them in animated form. That’s not ever going to happen, any more than Game of Thrones is going to remake seasons 3 and on to actually match their source material, but I always like speculating on these things, it helps me as a writer.

Conclusion: Brainwashing as a Joke

C3PO gets his mind casually wiped at the end of this film, which by all appearance is standard procedure for protocol droids when they get new owners, presumably to keep secrets of their former owners safe and to ensure their loyalty to their new ones. This is absolutely horrifying if you accept droids as sentient beings, of course, and seems to be banned in the New Republic.

What’s unnerving is that in the captioning, R2’s reaction is described as laughter. He’s mocking C3PO for his plight. From this I can only conclude that the true tenderness of their relationship must have started after episode 3, and R2 right now is taking delight in the irony of his more obedient counterpart being victimized by a system he supported. Not a cool attitude, R2, but it gives him an implied arc, too, as the two droids grow closer.

The Sky post y'all been waiting for

Ladies and gentlemen, enemies of the sun this is the long promised Sky post y'all have been waiting for I'm sorry I can't use images since my laptop won't work and I have to do this on mobile and now without further redo let's start WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS WINX CLUB SPOILERS Season 1: We are actually introduced to him as Brandon because of an unnecessary role switch. I don't even know why they thought this was a good idea since anyone who would've wanted to harm Sky and did proper research would know immediately who the real Sky is. That's not that much of a problem however starting to "date" someone while still being engaged is. He wouldn't even have to out himself as prince who just would've had to tell Bloom: Sorry I have a fiancée or to break things up with Diaspro. TBH this whole love triangle that has been going on since then is his fault he shouldn't have just started "dating" Boom. And then everyone starts acting like everything is Diaspro's fault tbh it was neither Bloom's or hers it was Sky's. And then he tried to solve things with Bloom not his actual fiancée no the girl he cheated on her with I doubt he even talked to Diaspro what even should he say: Ehm sorry I cheated on but I didn't bother to break up with you before I started seeing someone else? Other than that he is pretty tolerable this season. Season 2: OH BOI that's where the major drama begins. He starts out just fine but the second Avalon gets introduced "sigh" I still can't believe to this day that he thought it was a good idea to spy on his girlfriend in a party where he is not invited with the excuse of making sure she's okay (or what was it were we even given an excuse?) anyways and then he sees her talking to HER FREAKIN TEACHER and he gets jealous immediately. Like dude you were spying on your girlfriend and saw her talking to her teacher WHILE THEY WERE AT SCHOOL it's not like they were together in the city or something no they were RIGHT THERE at school and the party was FOR THAT EXACT TEACHER and your first thought is that she might like him then idk if it's her problem or yours TBH . Then that teacher promises her to help her find out about her past and you should be excited for her but no you're being a jealous asshole. And then at red fountain he "dies" and then gets resurrected with Bloom's healing powers but still believes that she likes the teacher more and who would blame her it seems like the teacher treats her better than her actual boyfriend does. And then he still manages to help her get healed from Darkar spell like Bloom if I was you I would've blown him away because honestly speaking Bloom deserves better. Season 3: Oh beloved season 3 in this season he's kinda okay I guess except the part they had an off-scream fight in and we never knew what happened there and the part where he is under Valtor's curse and tries to get rid of everyone and idk if he apologized for that it's actually not that much his fault except it's pretty stupid to trust Diaspro at that point. I don't recall anything else if you do you can add it. Season 4: Now this season is weird because other than a few things I didn't seem to have much impact on anything. Anyways this season was incredibly frustrating to watch from the romance perspective (well relatively anyways) because we had various love triangles that were what the children call incredibly stupid and cringeworthy. Like It didn't really have to be and it didn't add to anything in the season except maybe that one filler episode with Mitzy. And what role does Sky play in all of this? As always the jealous asshole. (I know it was not only him but still) dude just because some dudes were helping your girlfriend with painting the god dam walls while you weren't there doesn't mean they're cheating and you have to behave like jealous children when someone plays with their fave toy on the playground. Like dude Andy and Bloom are childhood best friends of course they're close like what even do you expect and instead of talking you just walk away like what is? What are we? You have a mouth and y'all can talk instead of this stupid miscommunication. Also think about from who the "Anonymous" message was because if you consider it i don't thing "girl that hates bloom since they were children and wants to date Brandon although she knows he has a gf" isn't exactly what you would call a reliable source. Then he is normal I guess for the rest of the season. Ah I wish he would fall of somewhere I just hate him. Season 5: Be careful what you wish for because yes he fell but he DIDN'T FREAKIN DIE. No he lost his memory and didn't want it back because...? Like dude I get it you lost the jewelry but that doesn't mean that you and Bloom will never live happily ever after like come on how superstitious are you to think that the only reason you and your gf won't have a happy life because of that piece of jewelry you won't have a a good life with Bloom because you have hundreds of other problems in your god dam relationship. (Note: this is the part in season 5 where I gave up the first time I was watching it) And how could it not be Diaspro decides to show us again how much they wasted her potential. You'd think after season 3 she would be banned never to return to Eraklyon but noooooo how can king Erenidiot ever make a good and smart decision in his life he even appoints her as Sky's royal advisor or something like that. Yes you read it right folks she got a position of power. What happened next will shock y'all. She became a controlling bitch who would even control his phone calls (and Bloom totally falls for it but that's a story for another day) and then they have this meeting where they discuss if they should do something against Tritanus where he at first doesn't even wanna join forces and suddenly when it still happens he decides he's the perfect person to lead it (Ah yes forgot to mention that he gets his memory back somewhere before Diaspro became his royal babysitter because Flora found the piece of Jewelry in Domino idk how it got there) And the season ends there this was one of the more frustrating seasons too. Season 6: I wouldn't say there was much Bloom x Sky drama here except where the part where Diaspro tried to kill Bloom but I think we're used to that by now like we're used to wake up every morning: incredibly annoying and hard to go through. Surprisingly enough that's not the part where he angers me the most no he annoyed me because he has the mentality of some people on this website to hold something a person did while they were 10 against them for the rest of their lives. Like if I was 10 and playing in the forest and some random dudes attached me I would run away too and nobody would judge me since that's and instinct and TBH the only logical thing to do unless you're some anime protagonist. And I wouldn't hold a grudge against someone who did it like come on Sky you could've ran for it too and it's sadly not like any harm happens to you since you're alive and well unfortunately. Season 7: If I'm being completely honest with y'all I'm still in denial this season ever happened and you know what else I can't believe ? The fact that this season featured a Bloom x Sky "love triangle" where the third person was a talking unicorn ( I know it's one episode but still) Come on dude if after all these years of being together you still have to fight for Bloom's heart WITH A UNICORN then dude something is seriously wrong and it's not Blooms fault. I'm not talking about this particular incident more or else I will go on a long long rant. Conclusion (I guess): In general you can say I don't really like Sky and think he's one of the worst character'a ever to exist in the Winx universe and who can blame me? Also if you go ahead and call Bloom a Mary Sue I except you to call out Sky too who apparently is the best in his class even while losing his memory. And I think it's safe to say that Bloom and Sky are one of the worst couples in this show. IMPORTANT NOTE: I didn't include the movies since it's been a while since I watched them Here you have it folks the long Sky post y'all been waiting for thank you for sticking around to the end I tried to keep it brief and I'm curious to here your thoughts on the matter

It’s not like either of these couples have much money to spare–putting food on the table is sometimes hard enough :p

Jesse sleeps on Skitts ALL THE TIME, and Jack loves falling asleep with his head on Race’s lap, but sometimes when he won’t quit reading his dime novels Race curls up on him instead.

3: Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on some clothes?

JESSE WALKS AROUND HALF-NAKED (or worse) ALMOST 24/7 AND IT’S SKITTS’ WORST FEAR THAT ONE DAY TUMBLER WILL SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED AND BE SCARRED FOR LIFE

Jack occasionally walks around shirtless, especially when he gets distracted in the middle of getting ready, but Race does it as an actual Choice…not that Jack would complain.

4: Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway?

Skitts is always nagging Jesse to go to bed.

When Race’s telling Jack not to stay up, it’s because he’s trying to finish all of his latest Western, but when Jack’s telling her not to stay up, it’s because she’s worrying about something (like cooking ten thousand dishes for her family gathering)

5: Which one tries to make food for the other but burns it all by accident and which one tells them that it’s okay and makes them both cookies?

Jesse and Skitts are both decent cooks–Skitts makes the basics and bartends, and Jesse makes gourmet Mexican food.

But JACK. The poor kid TRIES…but then he gets banned from the kitchen forever.

6: Which one reads OTP prompts and says “Oh that’s us!” and which one goes “Eh, not really”?

Jesse would read them to Skitts, who rolls his eyes.

Jack would be more likely to read them–anything to get in a dime novel–but he’s not super into reading about romance, in general.

7: Which one constantly wears the other’s clothes?

Jesse wears Skitts’ shirts all the time, and Race will occasionally steal a sweatshirt or flannel from Jack (which ends up looking more like a dress on her, but it’s comfortable).

8: Which one spends all day running errands and which one says “You remembered [thing], right?”

Skitts would do the errands because he’s more organized, and Jesse would come up with these ridiculous requests.

I could see either Jack or Race going on errand runs–Race in the mornings and Jack after work–and Race doesn’t realize that she has to write everything down if she wants Jack to remember it, while Jack doesn’t remember whether or not he even mentioned that they’re out of Coke and chips.

9: Which one drives the car and which one gives them directions?

Jesse and Skitts constantly argue about driving, but Skitts is the better navigator–Jesse wings it to the point of having to crawl along on fumes until they reach a gas station, every single trip.

Jack normally drives because a) it’s his truck and b) Race’s feet hardly reach the pedals, and Race gives him directions (which he sometimes ignores, and sometimes is justified, because she’d be an awful backseat driver).

10: Which one does the posing while the other one draws?

Race poses and Jack draws, definitely. (I’m not sure if Jesse or Skitts draw at all.)

11: If they were about to rob a museum, which one does backflips through lasers and which one is strolling behind with a bag of chips?

Jesse would be making dramatic entrances and fighting guards and things while Skitts snuck through a back door behind a delivery man.

Jack would break in while eating the chips–robbery makes him hungry, all right?–and Race would use charm to distract the guards.

12: Which one of your OTP overdoes it on the alcohol and which one makes the other stop drinking?

Jesse drinks and Skitts cuts him off.

Both Jack and Race would have their moments of drinking too much, but they normally try to look out for each other. (I feel like at least one of their children may have been born after they both drank too much one night, though.)

13: Which one likes to surprise the other with a lot of small random gifts?

Jesse and Jack.

14: Which one keeps accidentally using the other’s last name instead of their own?

Jesse and Skitts are more careful to keep their relationship somewhat hidden, but with all the drama surrounding Race’s family, Jack has used her name a few times.

15: Which one screams about the spider and which one brings the spider outside?

Skittery isn’t a huge fan of spiders.

Race would make Jack take it outside, but not because she’s afraid–it’s more because “I’M TRYING TO COOK FOR FORTY PEOPLE AND I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR BUGS IN THE PASTA, CARINO”

16: Which one gives the other their jacket?

Skitts and Jack.

17: Who keeps getting threatened by the other’s overprotective older sibling?

Jesse to Skitts, and Race to Jack, although Jack’s the first to tell her he loves her.

19: How good would your OTP be at parenting?

Skitts is already like some mixture of brother and dad to Tumbler, and Jesse loves the kid too, so they’d be all right.

Jack and Race would do more struggling because they’ve got a much more complicated situation–between the arranged marriage, neither being prepared to be parents, Race’s family, and Spot’s kid–but they’d make it work. Race would be fiercely protective as a mom, and Jack looks out for everybody.

20: Which one types with perfect grammar and which one types using numbers as letters?

Skittery uses perfect grammar, and it drives him crazy that Jesse doesn’t.

Jack, on the other hand, can barely use technology, and are his texts autocorrected? Is he drunk? Is he even writing in English? No one knows.

21: Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?

These two couples will defend each other until the day they die.

22: Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?

Jesse and Race make the puns. Skittery and Jack suffer because they love them.

With fem!Jessie, Skitts would do the carrying, but I could see him finally letting Jesse carry him (as long as no one was looking. The kid has a reputation to protect!) :p

Jack, on the other hand, will carry Race anywhere…and sometimes not even make a short joke.

25: Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?

The whole drag thing took a while for Skitts to get behind…but he’s sure as heck going to support Jesse when he competes.

Jack would be more likely than Race to compete in something, and Race would be screaming obscenities in Italian at his competition (but then, for the most part, just greet him with a relatively chaste kiss when things were over.)

26: Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?

Jesse, which he then snapchats to everyone ever.

Jack, because he’s secretly sentimental.

27: Which one would give the other a makeover if they asked?

JESSE AND RACE WOULD DEFINITELY LEAP AT THE CHANCE (and I still stand by Race insisting that Jack start wearing more color).

28: Which one owns a pet that the other is absolutely terrified of?

Skitts isn’t a terribly confident rider at first, and Race is pretty convinced Nell will kill Jack one day, but they’re not terrified of horses. If anyone had a truly terrifying pet, I feel like it’d be Jesse and Race.

29: Which one holds the umbrella over both of them when it rains?

I can’t really see Jesse or Skitts using an umbrella, and Jack wouldn’t either except that it’s the Nice Thing To Do when he’s out with Race (and he has to hold it so he won’t get stabbed in the eye).

30: If your OTP went on vacation, where would they go and what would they do? Who would take the pictures?

I REALLY WANT TO SEE JESS(I)E AND SKITTS ON A STEREOTYPICAL ISLAND VACATION OKAY?!?!?!

Jack’s choice would obviously be Santa Fe, and maybe Race would want to go back to Italy at some point, but it’s most likely that they’d just take the kids to Coney Island for the day, in which case the souvenir-shop man would take a picture of all of them.
