Note: this is solely a list of their on-screen hospital appearances where they were admitted as patients (in gowns), not all the times they were injured and/or briefly taken care of.

Beyond the Sea (1x13)

Reason: He was shot during a rescue mission.

*this counts as two because she left the hospital and was brought back a second time.

So how many times did we see Mulder and Scully admitted to the hospital?

It’s a tie! 🥳

I stated earlier that this is not every time they were injured and not every time they went to the hospital. Instead, it is every time we saw them while they were admitted to the hospital as a patient.

As with everything, this can be calculated in different ways.

There were instances where we saw them go to the hospital for something temporary (Blood, Gesthemane) and there are episodes where they definitely went to hospital, but we didn’t see them (Zero Sum, Never Again).

This also doesn’t take into account variables like length of hospital stay or injury v. illness. It’s impossible to know the full circumstances in some cases and overall to estimate who spent the most *time* in the hospital.

All to say, this was just for fun and I acknowledge it is not comprehensive based on different criteria (so don’t come for me), but I do believe it is every time we see them on screen admitted in hospital gowns.

In 1x13 of Sleepy Hollow on FOX when Ichabod enters purgatory he sees a vision of his father who still loves him. Ichabod still remembers that when he switched sides during the American Revolution, his father disowned him as his own son. However Ichabod once realised that the reality presented to him is false, the vision of his father turns monstrous. When we 1st meet the old man Henry in 1x06 he’s a kind and caring person however once Katrina couldn’t stop the horseman of war from rising, Henry turns against Ichabod and Katrina and reveals that he’s working on the evil side, is the horseman of war and he is their son. Also in 2x18 an angry Katrina, who travelled back in time and is possessing her past self, pretends to be a loving wife when Ichabod comes home after throwing Abbie in jail for the death of Benjamin Franklin. However in reality she wants to kill him because she blamed him for having to abandon her son. Luckily Abbie warns Ichabod that the Katrina that is with them now is full of rage.

If kitty saw these parts of sleepy hollow and the scene in Captain America the winter soldier where the winter solider (Bucky) starts to remember his past do you think it would remind her of rediscovering her real memories of Eleanor behind the ideal façade?

What happened if Alison ended up in a similar situation as Abbie at near the end of sleep hollow 2x17 and most of 2x18 where she somehow managed to travel back in time to a few days before Kitty died? Would Alison able to successfully warn Kitty that Eleanor is what she appears to be like how Abbie managed to warn Ichabod about the angry Katrina who managed to travel back in time? 

1. I think it would, yes. But I don't think that would necessarily be a bad thing for Kitty. I was actually really surprised at how she was more dumbstruck by the truth about Eleanor and how wrong her memories were compared to how crushed I thought she would be based on the ghosts' reactions to the thought of her being told the truth. (And I secretly think that she has much more of a dark side than the ghosts give her credit for. I mean, when Lucy first shows up, even before they know who she really is and what's going on, Kitty sees her as a threat to her and Alison's sisterly relationship and I think that if they had let it, it could have gotten real dark on Kitty's end. Cause I think part of why Kitty buried all that is because she doesn't like feeling that hurt that and confusion that comes with realization of the truth, even if it's not permanent, so instead of facing it, she made it go away and I think seeing the same thing happen with Bucky might be another trigger, but she'd come out of it much stronger (especially with someone like Cap around to be a steadying influence and bring her back to herself.)

2. Well, it depends on how badly you want Kitty in Ghosts or at Button House in the present time, I think, and if you believe time travel can change things or if it's all fixed. I think what happened to Kitty was unfair, especially if it was Eleanor's doing or she had some hand in Kitty's death, so if Alison could somehow go back in time and warn Kitty about Eleanor's betrayal, I would like to think it would be a successful venture and we'd have one less ghost at Button House, but at the same time, what if they got stuck with Eleanor instead? That would be a real shame. And even if it didn't work and Kitty still died, they'd see her anyway, and Alison would know she had at least tried so that would be something.

Hi! Do you have a top 5 miggy moments and top 5 eps? (sorry for the hard question 😅)

Hey! Ugh I know , because they have all these little moments that may not seem like a big thing but to a shipper everything means so much!! Honestly the looks they exchange and the heart eyes are enough to make me melt but I also go back and rewatch some specific scenes

1x3 : I love how they're still learning how to work together, I love how Juliet is too selfish to admit she wants to help Magnum, I love how he tricks her into helping him, their bickering, they look so good together.

1x4 : I love the recurring tie theme. Thomas Magnum knows 100% how to tie a tie yet he wants Juliet to do it because in both instances she is disturbed and he wants to take her mind off of what's bothering her.

1x9 : I mean come on they make such a great team, I especially loved how Thomas suddenly got shy "eyes on the monitor" 😄😄😊

2x12 : Of course their talk over drinks. They really do look like a real couple there. Higgins admitting she wouldn't leave Magnum ,Thomas talking about workplace romances, both wanting to say something more but feel it's not the right time.

2x8 : THE absolute best ,sweetest scene. It makes me melt every time. They both look gorgeous and Thomas slowly going up to her, pushing everyone on his way, and then apologizing for disregarding her feelings and taking responsibility for his behaviour is so mature and what every adult man should do. And then reminding her that she should not keep inside what hurts her and that she should communicate more openly ( this is a mature relationship!). He's slowly teaching her how to be an honest partner , his (best) ideal? honest partner.

* Can I also add 2x13 ? Their scene at the bar where Thomas says he knew everything and never said anything because he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. He comforts her and is not judgmental.

Now about the favourite episodes , I like certain subplots although I'm sometimes disappointed in how they are handled.

1x4 : They're both all dressed up , we see some action and I always love crime and art mixed together on an investigation show. Also jealous Magnum.

1x11 : Is this some domestic Miggy? Is this how they spend their mornings? Racing each other on the beach? I'd love to see more of it. And also topless Magnum teasing Juliet? Yes please

1x13 : The Viper storyline could have been so much better but again we have Miggy all dressed up and beautiful, determined to kick ass , Thomas doing the research for his "role ", him being worried about Juliet as she seems lost for the first time and he's trying to help and guide her.

2x17 : I really liked that episode , lots of running around and Thomas proposing ? Hawaiian sunset? Him making sure she wouldn't leave his side?My kind of smitten pi.

2x19 -2x20 : I love their moments in the study so much , they're both sad about the uncertain future of their *professional* relationship, they're genuine, sweet and Thomas would really do anything to keep her in Hawaii (even offering to marry her about 10 times).

This was just off the top of my head, there are many more , and hopefully we'll be treated to a lot more of this in the next season.

What are some Dean and reader moments that you like before they got together?

Do I even have any? lol I’m so used to people asking me about just all around, you’re making me think here. In my personal opinion, I feel like the earlier seasons (well, mostly season one) really don’t have any good moments that I can think of on the top of my head. However I will try my best! It’s been like five years since I wrote/read any of season one through 3 so bear with me!

Season One: 1x01 for sure, there was a couple pretty cute moments between Dean and the reader that I can’t forget about. Possibly 1x12 and 1x13 was a fun one to write considering we get a little jealous reader. 1x17, 1x19 (wow big shocker there) and probably 1x22 with a scene between Dean and the reader towards the way end. 

Season Two: 2x01 and 2x02 for SURE, I have to squeeze in 2x05 because I will forever love the scene with the reader and Dean trying to fool Andy with being a couple, 2x06 for reasons (I’m always a slut for protective Dean) 2x17 obviously lol, 2x19 along with 2x20, and if you want to add some angst we can throw 2x22 in there! (also i guess 2x10 for some a sprinkle of angst)

Season Three: Can i honestly just put all 16 episodes down? (If I really had to narrow it down it would go 3x08, 3x10, 3x14 and 3x16)

1. Favorite episode and why

Ok I know 1x15 “Yes Men” is like Questionable in a lot of ways but I love Sif and I think Lorelei is just so much fun to watch and also Fitz gets hit with a fire extinguisher which is peak comedy AND it also has my favorite Skimmons scene!

2. Funniest/crackiest/it’s-terrible-but-I-still-love-it episode/scene

Honestly most of 6x03 “Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson” but especially any scene with Jemma and Daisy being high and gay, it just makes me so happy.

3. It’s-terrible-and-I-hate it episode/scene

oh probably the scene where, uh, Jiaying’s DISSECTED DEAD BODY is just straight up shown!! onscreen!! it still shows up in my nightmares sometimes! it was VERY upsetting to look at for several reasons!!! and also any of the multiple scenes of Daisy getting tortured. 4. Best episode/scene for my favorite character

I’m really fond of the scene in 2x17 “Melinda” where Jiaying is showing Daisy how to move the mountain with her powers. I think that was like, one of the last times we got to actually see her be happy.

5. Best episode/scene for my favorite ship

Well I already mentioned a couple above, but also there’s 4x15 “Self Control,” in which they are two of the only human/non-corrupted people left in the whole base and Daisy QUAKES JEMMA’S BONES TO PROVE TO EACH OTHER THAT THEY’RE HUMAN and it’s VERY ROMANTIC

6. Best episode/scene for a particular supporting character

I basically just enjoy Raina at all times always but especially this scene because it’s just like, so her in a nutshell. 

7. Best episode/scene for a character I don’t usually like

Okay y’all know how much I hate Ward but him saying “Mistakes were made” is honestly fucking comedy gold lmfao

8. Most visually beautiful or interesting episode/scene

Okay well SHIELD kind of looks like it’s filmed with a potato most of the time tbh, like it’s not really their fault but they’re in poorly lit planes and shit a lot lmao. BUT I really like all the Afterlife scenes, I just think they look nice.

9. Most emotionally affecting episode/scene

I mean for me personally it’s the part where Daisy meets her parents because I had been terrified they weren’t going to confirm her as biracial so I actually cried lmao. But also it’s a very sweet scene!

10. Most powerful use of music in an episode/scene

Daisy’s transformation theme in 2x10 is so good!!!!!!

11. Episode/scene that changed my perspective on the show

Well...so this show has always been one where I’m like BUT IT’S MY SHOW even when it’s very bad. My perspective was always “I love this weird scrappy dorky show” from, honestly, the character descriptions on. But 1x06 “FZZT” is the first episode that I would say is technically “good.”

12. Episode/scene where the acting stands out

Ming Na is never going to get nominations or anything which is dumb as hell because when they let her she’s amazing, see also 2x17 “Melinda.”

13. Overall best-written episode

Hmmmm. I don’t know if 1x13 “T.R.A.C.K.S.” gets a lot of love anymore but I feel like that one’s a real standout in season 1. Also 1x17 “Turn Turn Turn” because I WAS RIGHT ABOUT WARD I WAS RIGHT I WAS RIGHT.

I’ve got a question for you: Top 5 (or 10) underrated Batcat moments in Gotham. (You have a wonderful blog and it brings me massive amounts of joy.)

Usually my tags on Batcat posts are the actual embodiment of the “In this essay I will -” meme, and now you’re actually asking me to write the essay? Thank you so much, you are literally the awesome anon that everyone wants in their inbox. Top 10 Underrated Batcat Moments from Gotham:

1. In episode 1x10, when Bruce and Selina are on the run and Bruce asks Selina if she has any change for a pay phone so he could call Alfred. She says she doesn’t have a dime, and the lie rolls off her tongue easily and she doesn’t regret it. And why should she? This is billionaire Bruce Wayne. If he doesn’t carry change, it’s because rich people don’t need coins when they’ve got billions of dollars lying around untouched in bank vaults. Not like her, who’s had to sneak and steal and risk her neck for everything she’s ever had. But then Bruce tells her that Alfred’s his family. And you can see that look on Selina’s face. That she doesn’t want to care but she does. And she gives Bruce the coins he needs to call Alfred.

2. I’ve talked about this in the tags before, but when Bruce gives Selina the snow globe (1x13). Selina’s a street kid and a thief. She knows that people just don’t give you things. She’s used to having to steal or manipulate to get what she wants, and here Bruce is, just giving her an actual present that he picked out just for her. So, in a rare moment in her life, she gets to accept something and say “Thank you,” instead of taking something and running.

3. 2x17 where Bruce sews Selina’s jacket and cooks for her. First of all, it’s awesome because the future Batman and the vengeance and the night and whatnot is totally cool with being domestic and doesn’t look down on the work (probably because he respects Alfred so much.) But, also, Selina didn’t grow up with people taking care of her and cooking her meals. She never knew who her Dad was and her Mom was who knows where, so someone just so willingly taking care of her? You can see how surprised and pleased she is.

4. I just talked about this in the tags, but that episode (2x3) where they’re at the gala and in danger, and Bruce is going to go back in, Selina says she won’t, he says he didn’t expect her to, and that he misses her. Because Selina? She knows all about manipulation. She can manipulate with the best of them and she knows how to spot it. And right then would have been the perfect time to try to guilt her or shame her for not going back in or manipulate her into doing so. But not Bruce Wayne. He respects her decision, doesn’t think any less of her for it. And when he tells her that he misses her, it’s so genuine. There’s no strings attached. He just really means it and wants her to know.

5. 3x7 where Selina’s way late for their date and Bruce asks her to be honest with him. Now, this so could have easily turned into one of those irritating tropes where Person A demands an answer and then gets all mad when Person B gives it to them. But thankfully it was not. Selina’s understandably standoffish and then in the face of confrontation she blurts out that it’s weird, and it comes out all blunt and aggressive and defensive like she’s preparing for a fight. But Bruce? He takes it in stride. Because she was being honest with him and he understands how hard it is for someone as guarded as her to talk about her emotions. So for her to just tell him what she’s feeling? She really must care about him.

6. 1x10 “Let’s keep things honest between us, I already took this.” First of all, Selina already knew Bruce well enough to know he wouldn’t be mad. And secondly? She did try to keep things honest. And in her world, a street thief’s world where you know there’s dirty cops and justice that never gets served and lies are expected, that is a sign of trust and friendship.

7. 5x3 “Whose side are you on, Bruce?” “Yours. Always.” Okay, so when I first heard this, I thought it was like an emotional punch to the gut because we know they end up on opposite sides. But then I realized…they don’t. Not exactly. Because although they may not agree with each other or understand each other’s point of view, they’re always rooting for each other, always hoping the other will come out of a situation okay, and always having faith in each other. They’re never completely on opposite sides, not really.

8. 5x9. Bruce sets up a surprise date and somehow manages to get candles and music and fancy glasses all for a meal of canned food. And he pulls out her chair for her and treats her like a lady while knowing full well how strong and capable she is and how she could probably knock him out with just the candle holder alone. He never underestimates her or her strength or thinks she’s delicate, he just feels she should be treated nice.

9. 2x21. “I’ve got you wrapped round my pinky. Always have.” “…Be that as it may…” The thing is, Bruce doesn’t deny it. He knows all it takes is a flash of her green eyes or for her to give him a smirk or say one of her clever ideas or boss him around and he’s done for. She knows this, and she knows that he knows it too. And he tells her to get out and she say’s she’ll do what she wants. (Which happens to be staying to help save him and everyone else.)

10. Any single one of those moments where Selina decides to stay and help Bruce, where she prioritizes him over her safety. Because Selina’s self-preserving. She does not think of herself as nice or loyal or morally superior. Rule #1 is to look after #1. People are expendable and she’s stolen and lied and manipulated for her own protection. But Selina, the self-preserving realist, had to go do the least self-preserving thing of all and fall in love with some idealist with no regard for personal safety and a vision. And if you’d told Selina, way back in season one, that this was a boy she’d get shot for and paralyzed for and put her life on the line for again and again and again, she’d laugh call you crazy. But the thing is, she does. She is so incredibly loyal and loving. So much more than she gives herself credit for.

Hi! I hope you’re doing well :)) I was randomly thinking about Brittana the other day and — do you think Santana came out to anyone before she was outed? and do you think Brittany ever “came out”? Because nobody seems to be acting as if her liking girls is new information in 3x07.

So the short answers are: 

With the exceptions of Brittany Pierce,Holly Holliday, and Dave Karofsky, I don’t think Santana ever really comes outto anyone (at least in so many words) prior to episode 3x06. 

As for Brittany, I don’t think she ever comesout so much as she just is out andhas been kinda forever.

Long answers after the cut.

First, a quick rundown:

In episode 1x02, in her very first appearance on the show,Brittany checks out Santana’s ass as Santana twirls in her Cheerios skirt,demonstrating the “teasing not pleasing” technique. Several other cheerleaders,including Quinn, are present to witness the incident. Brittany makes no effortto hide her obvious attraction.

In episode 1x13, Brittany reveals to Kurt, Mercedes, Artie, andTina that she and Santana have sex with each other often enough that by some definitionsthey could be dating.

In episode 1x14, Santana offers to make out with Brittany whileFinn spectates.

In episode 1x17, Brittany reveals to Kurt, Mercedes, Artie, andTina that she has personally made out with “everyone” at the school, includingboys and girls.

In episode 2x04, Mercedes witnesses Brittana’s silent hallway “lovers’quarrel,” when Brittany indicates that she is cutting Santana off from havingsex with her.

In episode 2x06, Artie witnesses Brittana leaving Breadstix withPuck, presumably to have a threesome with him.

In episode 2x14, Santana takes shots off of Brittany’s abs at theRachel Berry House Party Train Wreck Extravaganza.

In episode 2x15, Brittana come out to Holly Holliday—thoughSantana still maintains the pretense that she is attracted to boys. Later,Brittana sing “Landslide” to each other and hug in plain view of the glee club.Rachel comments on the sapphic nature of the performance. Based on her bodylanguage, Quinn may also realize what’s up. Artie appears somewhat suspiciousof the exchange and what it might mean for his relationship with Brittany.However, Sam fails to understand the significance of the moment.

In episode 2x17, Santana defends Klaine from Dave’s homophobicbullying. Though she doesn’t indicate that she is doing so because she, likeKlaine, is gay, Kurt may realize, at least to some degree, that something is upwith her.

In episode 2x18, Santana comes out to Dave and blackmails him intobearding with her. She then forms the Bully Whips, using Dave to help her makeWMHS safe for Kurt’s return. However, she refuses to participate in the gleeclub’s “Born This Way” performance and only dons the “LEBANESE” t-shirtBrittany made for her at the very end of the episode, where no one but Dave cansee her do so.

In episode 2x19, Brittany reveals on FF2 that Santana “plays foranother team.” The Muckraker then runs a blind item column which refers toSantana as the prom queen candidate who is in the closet. Santana angrilyconfronts Brittany about her word choice in the presence of several other gleeclub members. Later, Brittany reveals to Artie that she is cheating on him withSantana, and Bartie break up.

In episode 2x20, Brittany dances with a girl at the prom.

In episode 2x22, Quinn notes that all of the other girls in theglee club aside from her “have love.” Though she doesn’t mention Brittany andSantana by name, she does spare them a pointed look which strongly suggeststhat she knows they are in love with each other. Seconds later, she confusesBrittana’s offer to cheer her up with a haircut up as an invitation to jointhem in a threesome. Surprisingly, Santana is able to laugh off the mistake.

In episode 3x01, in their very first scene of the season, Brittanygets a food tray for both her and Santana to eat from. The girls then meet up,link elbows, and happily skip away for their “lunch date.” Jacob Ben Israelcatches this whole exchange on film and broadcasts it to the school. Later,when Will exiles Santana from the glee club, Brittany appears very upset, andFinn seems to take notice.

Between episodes 3x01 and 3x04, Brittana are generally very touchywith each other, and, for the first time in a long while, neither one of themhas a boyfriend or even a boy toy. They also don’t express any interest in boysat all.

In episode 3x02, Brittany tries to sell Kurt on her ProjectUnicorn campaign platform, which is specifically designed to combat homophobicbullying at WMHS. Brittany makes it clear to Kurt that she has a personalinvestment in the cause. Later, Santana stands up to Kurt when he disparagesBrittany’s platform. Brittany eventually decides to run for senior classpresident on her own ticket. She identifies herself as a “bicorn” to Kurt.

In episode 3x03, Brittany shows up to Booty Camp, even though sheis personally exempted from the practice, expressly for the purpose of hangingout with Santana. In Mercedes’s “It’s All Over” fever dream sequence, sherefers to Santana “knockin’ off that piece who thinks she’s better thaneverybody runnin’ for president”—i.e., Brittany—indicating that she at leaststrongly suspects if not knows for a fact that Brittana are back to sleepingtogether again.

In episode 3x04, Brittany dodges Rory’s romantic advances. Santanaalso threatens Rory against pursuing Brittany, referring to Brittany has “[her]girl” and calling her beautiful, innocent, and “everything that’s good inthis miserable, stinking world” in the process. Elsewhere, when Mercedes approachesSantana to join her new glee club, she is savvy enough to realize that Brittanycomes as a package deal, further indicating that she is aware that Brittana aretogether, and, moreover, that their relationship is both committed andfeelings-based.  

In episode 3x06, prior to being outed, Brittana continue to bevery affectionate with each other in public—and especially during the “Stop theviolence!” scene during Troubletones practice, when Santana practically meltsat Brittany’s cuteness, in plain view of Sugar, Mercedes, Shelby, and the otherglee club members. Santana also chews Finn’s ass for calling Brittany stupid.

To the best of my recollections, these represent all of theinstances in which Santana’s lesbianism, Brittany’s bisexuality, and Brittana’ssexual and romantic relationship are either discussed or brought to theattention of other characters prior to Santana’s outing in episode 3x06.

Of course, that’s to say nothing of the flirtatious, pining,bedroom, adoring, moony, thirsty, love-eyed looks they sling each other betweenepisodes 1x02 and 3x06, or the way they drape themselves all over each othersitting on the back row in the choir room, or how they dance together duringpractices, or the fact that they’re usually glued at the hip, or that Santananever smiles at anyone in the way she smiles at Brittany, and Brittany hasnothing but praise for Santana (never mind what everyone else says), and, and,and—

There may be other instances in which either Santana or Brittanyas individuals or Brittana as a couple come out to people, but if there are, wecertainly don’t see them take place on screen.

Personally, my sense is that prior to her outing, Santana neverpurposefully comes out to anyone besides the select individuals mentionedabove. I have two reasons for thinking this way.

First, I tend to believe that had Santana come out to anyonebesides Brittany, Holly, and Dave, TPTB would have shown her doing so onscreen—because it kinda would have been a BIG DEAL.

Santana is very much the epitome of this text post:

Compare her tearfully admitting to Brittany that she’s in lovewith her during the Hurt Locker scene in episode 2x15 versus her casually quipping to Quinn’s boyfriend the very first time she meets him in episode 5x12, “Wordon the street is you’re old money. I’m a lesbian, but I’m totally into that.”

Back in S3, Santana is still so new to coming out (and even toaccepting her own lesbian identity) that I just have to believe that had shecome out to anyone—whether on purpose or accidentally—it would have been depictedas part of her storyline. It’s something that would have factored into her arcin a major way.

—which brings me to my second reason for believing that she doesn’tcome out to anyone else prior to episode 3x06: namely, I don’t think she’sready to make “that kind of announcement,” just from a character standpoint.

In episode 3x04, she’s still holding Brittany’s hand under the napkin. While making thingsofficial with her dream girl probably boosts her confidence at least somewhat,it also doesn’t necessarily mean that she suddenly has enough confidence tocome out.

Honestly, based on her reaction to Finn outing her and Reggie Salazarrunning his political ad (“Not just the school, you idiot! Everyone!,” “I haven’teven told my parents yet!”), I tend to think that Santana’s m.o. is not to comeout at school until after she comesout to her family. They’re her first priority when it comes to taking thatstep. She doesn’t want anything to get back to them before she’s had a chanceto tell them the truth herself.

Since we know she isn’t out to her parents and grandmotherpre-episode 3x06, then my guess is that she also isn’t out to anyone else atschool—at least not in a formal way.

Instead, I think she tends to take “the Brittany approach.”

—which brings us to the matter of Brittany’s “outness.”  

As mentioned above, there are several instances prior to episode3x06 when Brittany makes her attraction to girls known in a public setting.

In particular, in both episodes 1x13 and 1x17, she admits to groupsof her peers that she has both kissed and had sex with girls. 

Neither one ofthese scenes is a “coming out” scene in the traditional sense, as she isn’tlabeling her sexual identity or framing what she says as a disclosure but rather simply talking about her life and about the way things are with her in a general, matter-of-fact way. 

Her attitudesuggests that what she’s saying isn’t a secret or something that she considersrevelatory.

That’s why I say that Brittany never comes out as much as she just isout.

While there may be some instance before the start of the show(like in middle school or the ninth grade) when Brittany formally announces toher classmates that she is bisexual, my sense is that there isn’t. 

I honestly don’tthink Brittany ever tells anyone in so many words “I’m interested in multiplegenders” or “I’m bi.” I think she is just always kind of open about the factthat she is.

In fact, a lot of the friction between her and Santana during S1and S2 derives from the fact that they have differing comfort levels withoutness.

Even though they are in love with each other, Santana isn’t readyto admit that they are even to herself, much less to anyone else, so sheinsists that any time she and Brittany are actively hooking up with each other,then they must also actively be hooking up with boys on the side. Frankly, ifgiven her druthers, Brittany would probably prefer to be monogamous withSantana—and, in fact, according to my calculations, Brittana probably arefairly monogamous with each other between episodes 1x16 and 2x06 (see here)—sothe only reason she bothers making out with random classmates outside ofSantana is because Santana insists that they “play straight.” The desire toconceal her sexual orientation and her feelings for Santana never comes fromher. She only participates in misdirecting behavior because Santana’s “rules”necessitate it.

On the few occasions when Brittany oversteps Santana’s boundaries,pushing her to be open if not about her own sexual orientation than at leastabout the true nature of her and Brittany’s relationship (see episodes 1x13 and2x04), Santana immediately shuts her down, and Brittana experience relationalfriction.

Consequently, Brittany tends to back down—at least until S2, whenshe decides that if Santana doesn’t want to be her girlfriend, then maybe sheshould try dating someone else, and she ends up becoming a couple with Artie.

Of course, the really interesting thing is that even thoughBrittany is generally open about her bisexuality, very few people seem to pickup on it prior to episode 3x06.

That whole “gals being pals” phenomenon, where people look at wlwshowing romantic love for their partners but mistake it for platonic bestfriendly affection because heteronormativity—that’s Brittany’s entire lifeexperience prior to Santana’s outing.

Brittany can talk openly about how she’s made out with boys andgirls; dance with a girl at the junior prom; and spend every day in glee practicemaking eyes at Santana, holding her hands, stroking her hair, and justgenerally being moony about her, but people will still view her as being prettymuch straight until her girlfriend is outed as a lesbian.

—and even then it’s debatable to what extent the general publicunderstands Brittany’s sexuality.

As I talk about in thispost,

Brittanyhas been vocal about her attraction to men and women since early in S1, firststating that she’s slept with Santana in episode 1x13, then revealing thatshe’s made out with girls, boys, and Mr. Kidney the janitor in episode 1x17.

The factthat she is not straight has never exactly been a secret.

—and yetno one at McKinley seems to raise an eyebrow at her sexuality, never mind that,for a time, she is the only out LGBTQIA+ kid in the student body.

(Lateron, various people on the show will talk about how Kurt Hummel is the first outgay kid at the school, which, though true in terms of being gay specifically,is not necessarily true in terms of being “not straight” in a more general way.The fact that no one at McKinley seems to acknowledge Brittany as the first outLGBTQIA+ kid at the school shows that her sexual orientation doesn’t reallyregister with the more part of the student body. No one really thinks of her asbisexual/pansexual/sexually fluid/queer Brittany, or at least they don’t thinkof her in those terms in the same way that they think of Kurt as gay. Hersexual orientation isn’t viewed as an important part of her identity, eventhough it’s something she is actually fairly open about from the start.)

Whilemembers of the New Directions give Brittany funny looks when she talks abouthaving sex with Santana and achieving her perfect kissing record with everyoneat school (regardless of gender), these funny looks aren’t particularlydifferent from the ones they give her for spouting off Brittanyisms or speakingin non sequiturs.

So whythe nonreactions on their parts? Why do Brittany’s teammates not really seem tonotice or care that Brittany isn’t straight?

Part ofit probably has to do with their misunderstanding of Brittany in general:

She’sincomprehensibly strange to them, something between a child and an idiot. Doesshe even know what she’s saying? Does she even understand what making out orhaving sex means? Since they view her as having such low intelligence, it’sprobably somewhat uncomfortable for them to think of her as having sexualagency, so they don’t dwell on it.

She’sjust Brittany being Brittany, after all. Best not to press the matter.

Anotherpart of it definitely has to do with heteronormativity: 

They’reconditioned to think of straight as a baseline. And straight girls can stillmake out with girls sometimes, right—especially if they’re dumb straight girlswith active libidos? After all, Brittany only really goes on dates with guys,and observable behavior = orientation, doesn’t it? So Brittany must bestraight. The “kissing (and having sex with) girls” thing is an anomaly, asometimes thing, the exception and not the rule. Somehow it doesn’t count.

So even though Brittany never goes out of her way to conceal her bisexuality, she still manages to “hide in plain sight.” Her peers don’t really seem to notice or care about her sexuality until it relates to her relationship with Santana.

—which brings us back to Santana in S3.

Based on her behavior in early S3, I tend to believe that Santana adopts the same method to “outness” as Brittany does: namely, though she doesn’t actually come out to anyone, either directly or in so manywords, she also gives up on attempting to conceal both her sexualorientation and feelings for Brittany—and especially to the degreethat she did in the past.  

In S1 and S2, whenever Brittana were engaged in a sexualrelationship with each other, they would also each maintain sexualrelationships with boys on the side, so as to create plausible deniability. Butcome S3, neither one of them has a boy toy or beard, even though they aretogether.

They also don’t express sexual or romantic interest in anyonebesides each other—i.e., they’re clearly not on the hunt for boyfriends or evenpretending that they are. Gone are the days of them (and mainly Santana)working overtime to convince everyone that they’re straight or even thatthey’re not each other’s primary relationship.

While they’re not yet to the point of kissing or holding hands inpublic, they are very touchy with each other. They’re also openly emotionally supportive of each other, such aswhen Santana defends Brittany’s unicorn campaign to Kurt in episode 3x02 orwhen Brittany shows up to Booty Camp just to hang out with Santana in episode3x03.

Essentially, then, they are no longer in the business of activelyconcealing the truth about Santana’s sexual orientation and their romanticrelationship, though they’re also not yet ready to make a public announcementregarding those topics, either. They start out S3 hiding in plain sight, as itwere.

Santana’s attitude during this point in time seems to be along thelines of, “I’m gonna start being more and more myself, and if someone noticeswhat’s up, then someone notices. Otherwise, I will come out when I’m good andready.”

Spike! Since he showed up in season 2 :) I think I was 14 when I start watching the show, and now 15 years later he’s still my favorite. I even have parrot named after him :)

Hmmm...well the most annoying for me was Ruby - I couldn’t stand her. I’m also not a fan of Jiaying. And with Ward - I hate him for what he did, but I also enjoyed him as villain so...

Hmmmm....I love season 2 finale - it was so stressful and emotional!

Ohh I’m not sure, I binge watched whole series so all season bland for me. But I think that this season when Monica and Chandler got together and they had secret relationship ;).

It’s hard to choose, especially that I don’t remember names of episodes lol. But I think the one I like to rewatch the most: "The One Where Everybody Finds Out"

It’s been awhile since I watched it, but I think season 6 was my favorite :).

Well I started in the end of 2015 when I binge watched 2,5 seasons but the show was on hiatus and my really life was messy so I didn’t come back to it until summer of 2017. Back then I binge watched all seasons again and since then I watch it “live” (or day after everyone because time zones sucks lol).

11. How did you become interested in 3?

Well...like with most of my favorite shows - I saw gifs on Tumblr and I thought “oh it looks nice” :D so I watched and I loved it <3.

12. Who is your favorite actor in 4?

I really like Kristen Bell, and I have small celebrity crush on Jason Dohring ;).

13. Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?

I can’t choose! AoS is still on and I’m little obsessed with it. BtVS reminds me about my teenage years and it’s gonna be forever my favorite show. Friends are iconic. So sorry - I’m not choosing ;).

Well Merlin has 5 season, 13 episodes each, and AoS 5 seasons with 22 episodes and 1 season with 13 so.... ;). I also rewatched both tv shows few times but I think AoS is winning ;).

Hmmm....Veronica Mars!

16. Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?

Not really - only with time travel lol. One is fantasy show during King Arthur’s times and the other is story about young detective in present times so...it would be weird crossover :D

17. Pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple.

I have no idea tbh. I mean...I have my favorite couples and most of them are canon, and sometimes I read fics with not so popular couples but I don’t know which one fits this criteria ;).

18. Overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?

Those shows are so different, so it’s really hard to choose. I think Merlin? Even if I hate last season and pretend this show only have 4 seasons :D. Or maybe Friends? This show is ridiculous sometime but this is why I love it :D

Those two shows have my favorite theme musics! But I think Buffy’s is a little bit better ;).

I was watching 3x09-10 today with my husband (he's trying to catch up and watch the finale when it airs 😊) and he has this theory (sorry if it was discussed before, I couldn't find it). What if Pierce (the first murderer) really is trying to make Lucifer kill a human (as you said on a post the other day) and turn him into the first angel murderer. Maybe he knows something we don't about the repercussions of that? Idk... Just a thought.

First of all, I love your husband! 

Now, this might be a long post I have no idea yet but I read you Ask when I was just about to go to bed and something just stuck with me although I forced myself to sleep instead of replying you. Good thing I did because now I’m feeling like I can analyse anything you tell me to. 

Okay, so long ago I had posted Lucifer’s line from S2 where he said that judgment day is only a couple of years away. 

So I always thought what if Lucifer and Chloe had something to do with it? If we think about it Mum almost caused the end of the word. Last night I also wrote a post where I was thinking that perhaps the 3x16 line on the jock the princess and the nerd corresponded to Dan, Charlotte and Ella because as far as I see it, everyone will have an important task in their hands and some may even fall because of that. I’m mentioning the above because I made a weird connection last night… Can Lucifer by killing a human start an apocalypse? I’m not sure and I doubt we will get there but there is something that I overlooked as it didn’t make much sense at the beginning. The Z prophesy said that the magma of the Earth is blocked and if the magma was not released soon we would have a big magma apocalypse. 

This may sound a bit overstretched but… What is holding Lucifer’s Devil face back or worse his eyes? Why do they glow amber and only two times this season? Was the dagger the only way to let out his light-bringing power? I always believed that his red glowing eyes since S1 were a sign of that power within him. As you may have guessed I’’m wondering on whether Marcus is trying to manipulate something inside of Lucifer. His purpose might have never been to die… Perhaps a revenge then towards God’s favourite son? 

I still don’t buy the favourite was Amenadiel and I presume that Marcus knows that. I have mentioned the following question before that the metal book in S2 was written by whom exactly?  It was written in Sumerian according to Amenadiel and remember what Lucifer said in 3x16 regarding Abel? 

Lucifer: Whilst this is all very illuminating, Maze, how do we find Abel? Keep an ear out for someone babbling in Sumerian? - Lucifer 3x16Lucifer: So whatever language this is- Amenadiel: It’s Sumerian. Unlike some of us who had everything handed to him, I actually spent my youth studying. - Lucifer 2x17

Again who wrote the book that dates back to Abel’s murder according to the timeline Lucifer gives us? Or better yet who was still alive to write it? Cain. At least that’s what I see here. 

If all the above are true what does that tell us about Marcus so far?

- He knows more about divinity and mystical objects than Lucifer, Amenadiel and even Mum. -He knew about the medallion of life and perhaps he has possed himself with it in order to acquire that knowledge as the page of the medallion was at the left side of the book and the flaming sword at the right side. -He knows about Lucifer’s light-brining power. -He knows who the favourite son is… 

But let’s go a bit further. 

Marcus in 3x12 - All About Her, told Lucifer that when he found out that a human had made the Devil bleed so he had to check and that he had high hopes because that would help him find a way to die. I believe that all, meaning wanting to die that is not true. Or at least not entirely true. (Half truths Lucifer 1x04 - I don’t lie but I don’t say the whole truth either.)

Marcus knows that Lucifer bled early on as that was the scene the production went within the flashbacks shown in 3x12. Not 1x13, not 2x13 but 1x04! Meaning that he could have been in Los Angeles immediately when that happened but he didn’t. 

So we get to S2 where Azrael’s blade comes to L.A. and even if Marcus never found out about Uriel (doubtful) he knew about the blade by the episode 2x08 - Trip To Stubby Town. If he wrote the book or was around for millennia he knows that the blade can not only kill him but also vanish his soul once and for all. 

Marcus claimed he experienced no guilt for what he had done so he wouldn’t go to Hell but that would leave only Heaven as an option. Thinking about it, an internal life in Heaven is it really a good thing for him after so many millennia? Wouldn’t be wise to just kill yourself with the blade and be over with it? 

Let’s not forget that Dad probably has a saying even in the afterlife so why would Cain ever subject himself to go to the same place where his torturer is? It doesn’t make any sense… But how about taking revenge on the favourite son of Dad? That is a high possibility but why now? Because Lucifer has something to lose and can suffer. Additionally, his light-bringing powers might be something that can be used against God? Who knows…Okay, so around 2x13 if Marcus knows about it, the Devil dies for a human… Did the hospital had any footage? No idea some do but they require a special order to be turned on. 

Now see this… in a very weird way, Earl Johnson in 2x16 was committed for giving away all his money and because he had been delusional a few months ago (02/03/2017) by his wife…

If you go back a few episodes you will realise that this happened around the time Azrael’s blade was on the move (2x06-2x08) or when Chloe was poisoned (2x11-2x13). So was Earl Johnson planted somehow? I mean why would a guy from Odessa, Texas end up being committed at a ward in California? I may be going a bit too far but what if Marcus was manipulating things since S2 and wanted Lucifer to start a new war against his Dad along with Mum?

Now in 2x18 Mum is gone, the blade is gone but in less than 2-3 hours later Marcus has someone Devilnap Lucifer. Miraculously Lucifer ends up with wings so that makes me wonder if the light-bringing power can be harvested somehow and reused… 

Too far? Okay, think of this. Marcus had 2 seasons to act and he does it when A) Mum is gone, B) the blade is gone, C) Amenadiel’s powers may be returning but not really, D) Maze is out of Lucifer’s house and E) Marcus has proof that Lucifer can summon the light-bringing power. 

All the above get us to S3. 

How did Marcus or the Sinnerman brainwash that guy in 3x02 into thinking he had killed Lucifer’s kidnapper because of his girlfriend? Why do we always forget that? Sometimes I wonder if the original Heart Break Killer was manipulated by the 1950s Marcus… 

Moving forward we get to 3x04  - What Would Lucifer Do?, where Marcus is shot but was he really trying to test his mortality around Chloe? That was a bit too rushed and it doesn’t make much sense… It seems almost as if Marcus wanted some time off to set up a new game… 

3x05 - Charlotte comes back and perhaps Marcus steps away as he wants to see the lasting effects of Mum and how a Hell damned soul is reacting back to her earth body… I do wonder if Charlotte acted as a live experiment for him in a way. 

3x06 and 3x07 are the standalones but Lucifer and Chloe are coming closer something that perhaps does not fit Marcus plan whatever that is. He needs Lucifer in pain. Like Linda said in S2, Lucifer had to feel his pain and indeed in that way, he ignited the blade so… - I believe this has been mentioned before at least once on a basic level? - 

3x08 - Marcus returns and all of sudden in 3x09 The Sinnerman starts to slaughter Lucifer’s old favour recipients. The mafia boy was a recent deal but the woman with the hair products was a few years old deal/favour. I remind you that only Marcus has the archived files on the celestials. 

In 3x10 we get several enigmatic clues and the first arc finishes with Marcus shooting Sinnerman. Now the weirdest part for me was that Sinnerman had kept their photo together photo in a pristine condition with him… Why? It will be answered for sure but… Sometimes I wondered if Marcus could have children for some purpose or if there is something more in there…

The next episodes 3x11 aside, seem like a big joke something like getting the Devil a colour book and let him have some fun. They do hold a deeper meaning but what interests me more is 3x16 for one more reason. Marcus knows that his brother by returning to Hell will fall again into the punishment loop. 

What had me thinking was why didn’t Marcus ask from Lucifer to bring back his brother after Abel was run over? How cruel can you be to let your brother, who you claim to care about at the end of the episode, return to Hell? If that’s not sadistic I don’t know what is. 

Everything I have written so far, of course, do not answer your question if we do not take them as one unit with unseen yet existing connections. 

Marcus is using Lucifer. Chloe has a gift there is no question about it but as Sinnerman said, it has to be you aka Lucifer. We might not know the motivation and the real reason behind Marcus’ actions so far and we might find it out only when the scene is aired but what we should remember is that no matter how precious is Chloe, Lucifer is the object of interest here… 

Which makes me think this. Lucifer is supposed to punish the guilty so was Cain’s mark under Lucifer’s influence? Just a random idea here though…

So your husband is partly right in my opinion. Marcus is forcing people to spin around themselves and do things they would never do… Killing a human as you remember is an Angel 101, no-no. Also, do remember Gaudium… taking a pleasure out of the idea of the committed sin and by reliving that sin and not the sin itself…

I know that this post has been a bit all over the place and I apologise for that. It’s just you gave me an opportunity to go back to S1 and rethink certain coincidences or what we assumed they were at the time. Thank you both!

Also - thinking season wise, I think it’s pretty clear how I feel.  

Seasons 2 and 5 are my favorites - though I think season 2 has extreme highs and lows, while season 5 is more consistent. 

Seasons 4 and 6 Idk if I could choose between - I think I like them equally, tbh. 

Season 1 - which has some great things in the back 9, but the Front 13 always feels like a slog.  

and Season 3.  Ug. But it does have some bright moments in it.
