One of my favourite examples when talking about how well Wilson and House know each other, is the episode where Wilson becomes convinced that House has a gun. The fact that Wilson even knows House has a gun in the first place shows how much they know each other. But in the episode, they both trick each other and Wilson breaks into House's apartment and House tries to stop Wilson, but eventually Wilson outsmarts him and ends up going through House's apartment and everything he owns, all while House is insistent that he does not own a gun.

And then, at the end, Wilson pulls up to House's office, brandishing the gun, going, "Ah ha! I knew it." And House rolls his eyes and tells Wilson it's fake and Wilson doesn't believe him, and House eventually hands him back the gun and tells him to shoot him. So Wilson is standing there holding a gun with House encouraging and trying to goad him into shooting him to prove that it's fake. Eventually, Wilson gives up and gives House back the gun and concedes. And then, at the end, it's revealed that the gun was real, and House's bluff was to try to get Wilson to shoot him with a loaded gun as a way to earn his trust.

This is such a good example because I feel like it wouldn't have worked the way it did with anyone else. House was betting his life on how well he knows Wilson, he was so sure that Wilson wouldn't risk shooting him even with a fake gun, that he handed him a loaded weapon and tried to convince Wilson to shoot him. He only did that because he knew Wilson wouldn't. Wilson, on the other hand, knows House well enough to know that he definitely had a gun, and there was always a chance that it was real even if House said it wasn't. He took the gun with that knowledge and refused to do what House was encouraging him to do. He knew House well enough to know that House knew him well enough that there's a chance he'd pull a bluff like this. And so Wilson didn't risk it. They know each other so well that House can hand a loaded gun to Wilson, convince him it's fake, tell Wilson to shoot him, and then be secure in the knowledge that he's not in danger because Wilson wouldnt do it.

I feel like 90% of the characters would've just shot him because they fell for it and wouldn't have believed House would pull something like that. And I don't think House would've pulled that with anyone but Wilson.

lord above! you have to be some kind of gem to secure a man such as alastor. to be that woman, it’s almost certain that you’re someone who understands alastor in ways no one else has.

he doesn’t tend to express his affections physically, but more than makes up for it through his sweet nothings and lavish gifts

he’s most definitely the type to spoil his wife, but only if you ask him for it yourself. he doesn’t want to buy things you have no use for

has a trust fund in his will set for you if, god forbid, he died before you. he doesnt want his love to worry about money, just let him take care of it.

unlike many households at the time, alastor would help with the chores. despite his full-time job, he’d sorta understand that taking care of a house is a full-time job in itself since he’d spent his childhood watching how hard his mother works so, he agrees to always split chores with you.

because of his work, and his popularity, his boss asks that he comes in early to host the morning segment of the show. because of this, it’s not often that you two share a morning together. but, he still remembers to kiss your pretty head good morning, occasionally adding a request for dinner

his mother is MORE than happy to welcome you into the family. she’s just glad that her son found someone that makes him happy.

honestly on the fence about kids. on one hand, it’d make his mother really happy, as well as how it’s expected at the time period. but, he isn’t too interested in physically showing his desires. and, he is quite busy as well with his job and the whole murdering thing. it’s only if you ask him explicitly that he’d decide to look into it, maybe adoption? :>

as the sweet nothings fell from his lips, your tears ceased, finding the warmth in his touch. “thank you, dear… you always know how to make me feel better, i love you so much…” you sighed, curling into his touch. “mmh, i love you as well, my pretty girl.” he grinned, kissing your forehead.

as stated above, alastor is not particularly attracted to your looks, but moreso your intelligence and your ability to see right through that charming facade of his. funnily enough, it started a healthy relationship for one of the most deranged men out there.

he’d also be quite attracted to you if you joined him one night. nothing’s more attractive than your beautiful wife in a pretty dress he bought for you all bloodied up with a knife in your hand.

he loves to show you off to the newspapers as his pretty doll, not only because you’re quite the eye candy, but to also make you confident in yourself

he’d still get jealous whenever he’d catch someone staring too long though. ironically enough, he thinks it’s adorable when you get jealous and pout your face. he’s your’s after all, body and soul! why fuss over something that’s not gonna happen?

arguments are quite rare since alastor doesn’t tend to do things that are argument worthy. one of the few reasons you tend to argue is when alastor heads to the club after work and comes home drunk and much later than he intended to. and, after all that, he still apologizes for coming home late, probably tries to come home early so he can cook dinner the next day as an apology :>

(Part 1??)

- Originally Bickslow and Freed lived together as roommates, Evergreen lived in fairy hills and Laxus had his own penthouse. When Fairy Tail disbanded they began living together while they were in Blue Pegasus as it was just easier, and they never stopped (im running off the hc that theyre all living together for most of these)

- Freed is the cook of the raijin tribe, they used to have a cooking rotor but it slowly became just Freed cooking every night

- Evergreen CAN cook basic meals but hates doing it so just, wont. Back when there was a schedule she asked Freed to do it instead and he usually agreed because he enjoys cooking

- Bickslow also can cook, but likes to experiment quite heavily and will not be convinced to make a normal meal. Got banned from cooking after he served shrimp pasta with ice cream

- Laxus can cook you a damn good grilled cheese, but thats it. Only cooks when people are feeling like grilled cheese

- Bickslow is a painter, not-quite Reedus level but still good, they like to paint from the imagination more than from reference which ends in very interesting (and only mildly disturbing) pieces

- Evergreen likes to garden, its something she started when she was young because her mother told her fairies like to care for nature. Their apartment is filled with various plants that she keeps and cares for, and while she could use magic to help them grow she prefers doing it by hand

- Freed enjoys playing a lot of musical instruments, hes best at violin and has been playing since quite young along with piano, but can also play gutair and bass as of more recently. Also has a collection of books in the apartment, originally all stored in his room before he ran out of space

- They have a schedule of getting up at about 7am at the latest most days, its not heavily enforced day to day but they stick to it on missions, if not getting up even earlier depending on the job

- Off-mission though? Nobody is actually getting up at 7am. Bickslow doesnt have a set time to wake but tends to actually be an early riser, he enjoys the mornings so he usually gets up a bit before 7, occasionally to do some painting or stretch ect

- Freed wakes up at 6am sharp and gets straight out of bed, no yawning or stretching or anything just stands up and walks away

- he is also the one attempting to enforce the 7am rule (sorry king) but bickslow usually joins in if only to annoy people

- Evergreen prefers to sleep in a bit more where possible, usually till half 8 or 9 if she can get away with it, then spends way to long in the bathroom doing her hair, makeup, and picking an outfit

- Laxus normally gets up at 10 and is impossible to wake before that, youd have to kick him awake and hes still grumpy afterwards

- Freed is French (I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL) and comes from a military background, specifically a noble house that specialised in military trading and training in France (i have an entire backstory mapped out for this freak if anyones interested drop me an ask)

- Bickslow grew up in the circus, hes always been naturally flexible but its where he honed that ability as well as learning some acrobatics, however it burned down when he was a teenager and the puppets (“babies”) he keeps around are the result of friends who died in that fire

- Evergreen is Scottish and grew up mostly raised by a single mother, her father was around for a few years but was generally a horrible man, a drinker and abuser who eventually left her mother alone. She also has a brother a few years younger than her who she helped to raise and is still close to

- Freed is the tactician of the thunder legion, comes along with being a leader but hes usually the one coming up with the plans

- Speaking of, hes someone who prefers to have a plan before a fight where possible, particularly as his magic is one where its difficult to construct quickly, especially if he wants a high powered jutsu shiki. So while he can think quickly on his feet hed rather have a plan mapped out

- Evergreen is the one who’s best at thinking quickly, if they end up in a situation where a snap decision needs to be made shes confident enough to make it and order her teammates around without second guessing herself

- They also all understand the importance of teamwork and its the main reason they’re so effective (as seen in the battle of fairy tail) their close bond allows them to work extremely well together, even if they tend to argue sometimes

- When Bickslow dislikes someone they have a habit of showing it on his face, usually by pulling a disgusted expression

- Ever does this too in a more subtle way, usually exchanging a glance with one of the thunder legion if shes not liking what somebodies saying. She WILL be gossiping about it later

- If Freeds not interested in a conversation he just silently walks away when youre not looking, people have gone 10 minutes before noticing hes left before

- Laxus just leaves mid-sentence though, doesn’t even think about it just walks away

- None of them can drive anywhere for various reasons, Laxus obviously gets extremely motion sick so is out for the count right off the bat

- Bickslow was banned due to being deemed “a danger to himself and others” after he got too many speeding tickets and crashed the car into a postbox

- Evergreen literally applies makeup while driving, shes blasting the radio while doing lipstick without looking at the road and its terrifying

- Freed is who people THINK would be the most responsible driver, and while he’ll get you to your destination safely, he also has a bad habit of ignoring the speed limit and accidentally running red lights. Unlike Bickslow however hes somehow managed to avoid getting any tickets

I call Nea and Kitty the next day. As always, they are up for a new adventure!

Nea drives while Loki casts the spell Frigga taught him to divine the whereabouts of this magic quill.

After a few hours, we arrive in a strange little town called "Forgotten Hollow".

Nea parks the cars and Loki weaves his magic.

"Please let it not be in that creepy mansion over there," I say to Nea.

"It's in that creepy mansion over there!" Loki yells cheerfully over his shoulder.

"I should have brought Dean," Kitty grumbles. "This place is giving me the creeps."

"I kind of like it," Nea shrugs. "It's awesome in a spooky sort of way!"

It is early September, but snowflakes are already drifting down from the sky above. I shiver. This whole place is weird!

"Are you sure it's there?" I ask Loki.

"Do you not trust my magic?" He replies archly.

"Just cast the spell again please, just to make sure."

"Well, that answers that question," Nea grins.

Loki makes his way to the door.

"It's open," he says as he steps inside.

"Loki! You can't just walk into someone's home unannounced!" I follow him with a sigh.

"Why not? it gives us the element of surprise!"

The home owner sure seems surprised!

"Nea, isnt' that the guy we met in the club?" Kitty asks.

"What do you think you are doing just barging into my home?"

"My name is Loki, son of Odin, formerly prince of Asgard, god of Mischief." loki introduces himself politely.

"We are looking for a powerful atrifact and my scrying spell led me to your home."

"My name is Valentin," V says. "And whther you are a prince or a god doesnt' matter, you can't just come barging into my home!"

"My sincere apologies, we weren't certain what to expect," Loki apologises smoothly.

Valentin invites us to take a seat.

He seems rather taken with Nea.

"We are looking for Hela's Quill," Kitty explains. "Wwe are hoping we could borrow it so we can bring Loki back to life."

"Hela's Quill? I have it here, yes. It is not something I particularly care for, I have to admit. You are free to take it. Follow me."

We follow him down the stairs into the basement where we find an underground hedge maze.

"Well, this place just keeps getting weirder," Nea comments.

Valentin just smiles. "You should see the rest of the house. perhaps i'll show you around some other time."

"This is Hela's Quill. You are free to take it, but i'm afraid it won't do you any good."

"We have a capable author amongts us," Loki explains.

"That is not the problem. The problem is that the author has to write down the subject's life story before said subject dies. It wont' work posthumously, I'm afraid.

But feel free to take it. I'd rather be rid of it, if I am to be honest."

Loki takes the quill, not showing his dissapointment.

"Come, let's go," I say. "let's give Valentin and Nea a chance to talk!"

We walk out of the door just as Valentin sits himself down at his pie organ.

"See, he gets to have an organ," Loki grumbles.

"This is quite the place you've got here," Nea says.

"It belonged to my Father's family. They were strange people."

"And your mother?"

Valentin glaces at the door Loki just left through. "They are even stranger," he smiles.

"Yeah, that isn't mysterious at all," Nea mutters to herself. "You aren't going to tell me more about yourself, are you?"

"No, not right now," Valentin grins. "perhaps the next time."

"You said that the last time," Nea points out.

Valentin stands up and takes her hands into his.

"I promised you we'd meet again, and so we did."

"You couldn't possibly have known we'd walk into your house today," Nea points out.

"Couldn't I?"

"Well, I suppose I've seen a lot weirder stuff recently," Nea admits.

"Good. Because having me in your life means you'd better get use to the strange and unexplainable."

"Does that mean I'll see you more often?"

"Oh yes. I am certain we are destined to meet again," Valentin says with a smile that makes her go weak at the knees, not that Nea would ever admit to that!

"But you should go now, your friends are waiting for you."

"Farewell, my beautiful Nea. Until we meet again."

We were playing all night. I didn't really care about the time, since I don’t have any classes tomorrow, or should I say today. “You're not tired?” I asked her since we were on a call. “nope,” she said, but you could obviously tell she was falling asleep. “Just go to sleep, dumbass. I can literally tell that you are falling asleep.” “No, we have to beat the ender dragon.” “We don't even have ender pearls, so how are we going to beat it?” “ We need more gold.” “For?” “To go to the nether and trade with the piglens, duh (🙄).”

We ended up mining. Surprisingly, we found almost six stacks of gold, plus the gold we already had, we for sure would get more than 12.

She went through the portal first and we started trading with the piglens.

“MAN, WHAT THE FUCK!” I yelled. “I KNOW RIGHT! LIKE HOW THE FUCK ARE THESE MF’s GOING TO SCAM US LIKE THIS!!” The piglens only gave us 5 ender pearls, and we already gave them over ⅔ of the gold we had. “They don't deserve to live,” she sounded so sinisterly. We ended up killing them.

We went back through the portal.

“Should we go to the end???” she asks. “I don't know. You wanna go.” “Yeah, but I'm kinda tired to be honest” “Well no shit, it's literally about to be 4” “I know, I know… um i'll talk to you later so we can continue, ok” “Yeah, I'm cool with that” “Ok good night Katsuki” “Night” i scoffed at her good night since it was about to be the time that i usually wake up. “Fuck it's late”

Before I crashed into my bed, I went to feed my cat.

rhaenyras death would shut down viserys not only as a father but as a person in whole.

viserys clings to rhaenyra as his way to remember aemma, and repent for what he did to her. with rhaenyra gone too there is no hope for him anymore. he would give up on life.

rhaenyra confesses in ep3 that she feels like viserys is trying to replace her, any attention he gave to aegon or his other children with alicent would make him feel like hes proving her right. hed feel like hes betraying rhaenyra, and through her aemma. hed shun those kids earlier/worse than he does in baseline. doesnt mean hed stop having kids, of course. rhaenyras death would only prove him right, that the targaryen line is too easily extinguished. he needs spares on spares to do his duty to his house, but he would not care for any of them. theyd all be too painful of a reminder of the ‘true’ daughter he lost.

assuming rhaenyra dies of illness or a freak accident, is not Killed, i think he looses daemon too. daemon has been clinging to rhaenyra as his replacement viserys. he would blame viserys for her death even though its no ones fault. because he Needs someone to blame for her loss. theoretically, they could reconcile, but it would have to be viserys reaching out to daemon. the way he did at laenas funeral. but viserys is too broken by rhaenyras death to even attempt or realize this.

ive talked before about how i think viserys decline between episodes 7 and 8 is caused by him “losing” both daemon and rhaenyra. that he gave up on living. i think this would happen faster as well, leading to viserys dying sooner. vis never looks or asks for a cure for his illness, but he does try and fight it, he still *wants* to live. but without rhaenyra (or daemon) he doesnt have any reason to continue to try and fight. the way we see him go almost catatonic after aemmas death? thats how he would stay until he died too. hed lie down in bed and wait for his illness to take him.

Has minor suggestion magic over thise who's names he knows, his magic is mostly deal-based, cant touch iron, everything has a price, he wont take gifts unless very specifically told there's no cost to it, and has power over those whithin his home/domain by rule of hospitality- you might be able to know what he is.

He makes weirdly accurate plushies of people, which by an enchantment change to maych the person the doll is of.

His coworker is a sentient doll known as ash. [Not my character]

He has in the past taken people's memories and the things they care most about as payment, and the payment for the enchanted dolls are done by intent. If you want one because you appreciate the craftmenship? It's pretty cheap. Want one to keep an eye on someone, or to experiment with the magic? Gimme your memories. And they have every opportunity to back down from the deal and leave, but they always take the deal and leave worse off.

He has a few friends outside of his coworker, being a sentient automaton [not my character], and a miserable guy with memory issues that he likes to spend time with whenever he gets a chance [also not my character] second guy in these drawings vvvvv

Also he feels bad about a deal where he took a guys wings because he has issues with messing with people's wings since he- used to- have wings. He's blind in one eye, as well from the same incident with his lost wings.

He specifically tries to freak people out because if they dont run away if he's trying to scare them off, then they wont run away if he's teying to be their friends. It's convoluted, but it's his way of making sure he doesnt get hurt from someone leaving him behind. So- so many abandonment issues.

He wants to seperate his coworker's life from his own, because he doesnt want them to have to die if he does. [If Jax dies, ash also will]

He has a soft spot for kids, and will go out of his way to help one [specifying lack of cost] that needs help. [Example: a kid that knows the automaton friend shows up without his glasses, dizzy and tired, so he finds them a place in his shop/house where they can safely rest before they find their way to where they're going. Also gave them advice that is very specific to his species, being to not thank him for doing the bare minimum to help, because saying "thank you" implies a debt owed]

He's simultaneously creepy, adorable, sad, and also has 'cool aunt' vibes lol.

Everything takes place after s4 vol.2 but Eddie didnt die obvs. And Max survived but she is 85% blind and her legs dont work that well still. Probably she's got a service dog thanks to the government (I very much like this hc).

Nancy ended up breaking up with Jonathan during the battle against Vecna/the MindFlayer. Also told Steve that she's in no way interested in his dream life and the 6 little nuggets thing. That she thinks he needs to find someone else who wants the same.

Robin (with Steves help obvs) asks Vickie out and they go on some dates, but soon realizes that they are too similar, practically the same person, and they just end up being very very good friends.

Also, she realizes that she doesnt identify estrictly as a woman and does a lot of research to then identify as nonbinary and uses both she and they pronouns.

Steve is supportive as always, altho he is a bit slow and fucks up a bit in the beggining. But he loves them so much and he corrects himself pretty quickly.

Eddie and Steve start to hang out a lot after the battle. In the beggining they just want to take care of Dustin and make sure he's alright. Also, Dustin needs to be around Eddie cause he almost died and he doesnt want to let go so Steve needs to make sure both of them are safe. they take turns driving him (and the party) around town.

Idk how, but Family Video didnt get distroyed and Steve and Robin are able to get Eddie a job there after all the ordeal.

Eddie thrives annoying Steve when they work together. Basically flirting nonstop.

Steve starts annoyed but with time he just gets more and more flustered. Robin likes to tease him about it. But they also make sure he knows she's there if he needs to talk about it.

How do they end up roomates you ask

Steve parents are practically nonexistent since for ever, but after all this shit goes down he wants some place to call it home and Robin is his home, his person.

Robin is very tired of her parents asking them if they're a couple and she's tired of faking being straight. So one day, after breaking up with Vicky and feeling the exhaustion from not being able to be themselves at home, they ask Steve if he wants to get a place with her.

They both are so excited about it.

They tell Eddie and Nancy the next time they all hangout (they do weekly drinks and movie at steves house)

Nancy wants to help them get a nice place so she gets pretty into searchmode.

Eddie just smiles and cheers about it. And they make sure their place is big enough so they'll be able to host not only them for but the kids (not that they're kids anymore) too.

This is not a vent post, it’s a book recommendation and self-analysis kinda. Please consider reading this, I won’t blame you if you don’t.

Last year around this time, my granddaddy passed away. Usually, online and in formal spaces I would call him my grandfather, but that’s not what I call him and I will not limit myself for this post.

Last year around this time I was beginning my second semester of college ever. I was not doing so well. My grades were low because my attendance was abysmal and my work outside the class was shit. However the previous semester I had taken a class that I was able to stick around for more than the rest.

This class was studying how different major religions and cultures coped with death and how they thought of the afterlife. I bought the books for that class with financial aid and never read them.

Just now I got done reading one of the books, When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold S. Kushner, never read it until I found it sitting around today.

It’s a relatively short book, under 200 pages, about how Kushner deals with the question “Why do bad things happen to good people?” from his place as a rabbi.

Now I don’t have any sort of relationship with god. i’m not strictly atheist or anything but i tend to believe in whatever religion people want me to believe in if they ask me to pray for them or a family member.

when grandaddy died, i had nothing to fall back on. granddaddy was extremely religious and generous, i am so incredibly grateful he was involved in my life and there for me. but people from his church said it was a part of god’s plan or that there was a reason he passed when he did and when i was in such a low state at college already.

i moved away to college and the landlord sold my home. i was in an unfamiliar uncomfortable place where the only place i felt fully comfortable was now completely inaccessible. my mom moved in with grandaddy and took care of him before he passed. it was tense. he was kind but old and stubborn and so is everyone else. the drain of taking care of someone can be worth it, but that doesnt mean its not there.

i was, and am, dealing with severe depression surrounded by other gloomy people who didnt make it much better. i never went to class and i had, and have, crushing guilt that i was wasting the time and money of my family.

and then granddaddy went to the hospital. and then he died. and its unfair.

all of it is unfair, and if it was a part of gods plan then hes fucking unfair too.

now, i have not necessarily moved on. my fingers shake still if i think about it too long. i dont even know if im going to post this because of how exposed and raw i feel. but its important to me that somehow in some way this gets expressed and that someone other than myself will read it.

your suffering was unfair, whether it was a lot or a little. the world is unfair. we all know it. i hope you know that you will never be able to look into the eyes of someone who has never known suffering, and i hope you can find some comfort in that connection.

this book is from the point of view from a religious man. it talks a lot about a god i dont believe in. but the way it talks about suffering and how it effects people makes it helpful for me to parse my own feelings and thoughts.

so feel free to replace god with whatever you want, with humanity and spirit and the universe and everything good. here are some quotes, alt text included:

i dont think i can forgive other people for being unfair, not without effort. but i think i can forgive the universe because the unfairness is proof that people have choices. shit happens, you choose what to do after it.

for a lot of people, mourning and religion bring them the strength to move on, as he talks about in the book. things dont get better because of prayer that god will fix everything or the universe will set itself right again or you can escape through fantasy books to another world,

they get better because something gives us strength to get up again and keep moving. to kushner, thats god and people who came together to support him. to me, i dont know yet, i dont know if i’ve really started to pick up my life yet. but i think this book helped me start to see the bigger picture

Nell and Belly (btw their full names are Nathanel and Anabelle) are born twins, nell just a few minutes before his sister. their mother died at birth which sent their father (an already not . good guy) into deep constant rage and pain . once they grow up a bit . i mean like. 7 or so. theres sexual abuse happening . and beatings. selling out his kids for a night for money. nothing fun. nell and belly get through it together until at like 16 nell (who's like, underfed, short, no muscles) snaps and stabs their dad over and over again .

nell only remembers this, killing his dad, with absolutely no context behind (protecting himself, protecting his sister, freeing them) so he thinks he used to be a Bad person. after that they get placed in the system, ig theres a trial but its ruled as legitime defense, and once they're 18 belly just. vanishes. they both deal very differently with what their whole life was, nell cant go on, can barely support himself, thinks he should have died right then, and belly flees from nell to find . somewhere where she can forget. she regrets it but nell dies before she can reconnect (not sure how, his death isn't rly whats important here,,, im thinking . so numb he can't rly recognize whats around him . walk in front of a car. yeah). belly struggles to have a happy life after that and ... im not sure how she dies yet. im thinking drowning bc its a thing that almost happens in the farm au....

as an angel, she doesnt remember much, because there wasn't much happiness in her life. also these two as twins have a bond that still connect them in angel/demon realm ! so they know the other exist and they remember once they meet !!

this happens in a fictif medieval era lmao she's the princess of a kingdom, daughter of a kind king and queen, destined to rule, fighting among the army already, everyone loves her, except her small kingdom gets torn apart by another kingdom, not that much bigger, but with much greater military strength. the country gets torn apart before the army, the king and queen can do anything. the enemies arrive to the capital and lena doesn't even ask and joins the vanguard. she uses a sword at this point, get through enemies after enemies, and it looks like there's hope, until one of the enemy's captain reach her. it's a bit of a eowyn versus the nazgul vibe in lotr except lena doesn't win. she's slain, and slowly dies on hte battlefield with her beloved country burning, and the people she swore to protect screaming and dying.

she's very loved. i care her so much. she's my default when idk what to draw :3 she remembers being a loved princess, and slowly remember the last fight. it haunts her, the weight of losing this fight, that she couldn't do more, even if it's from a time long gone.

she loses her parents very young and thus, is cared for by the local church. there's a priest here who teaches her to use her looks and innocence as a way to get things, information, food, anything. once she's 13/14, he starts showing her the more physical way to do so.

she starts using sex as a way to learn things. she's the person who knows the most about anyone in the village. she's an important figure, one who's gifted things to keep silent, who gives her body in exchange for things to hang up against someone. she hates the priest who made her who she is . she couldn't have been something else, happier, lighter, but she's this, and she's too deep in to just stop.

she's too powerful, she knows too much, and when there's word in the village of a witch inhabiting it, they all turn to her. they have a way to get rid of her and the power she holds over them. she screams what she knows when she's brought to the center of the village, screams her hate of the priest who made her who she is, destroys everyone's nice little life because it cost hers. she dies burning, and everyone chooses to act like they never heard her in her final day.

she's the wise calm one who's actually full of anger and wrath. i love her a lot. there's this french song i love ("a witch like any other") which talks abt . women. women and men treating women like they're granted. and like. its a titania song. if u wanna give it a listen this version is amazing altho it's more powerful if u know french....

it's snowing. it's pretty. he wishes his mom could wake up and see it but he's starting to think that maybe she won't.

he doesn't remember anything, and his ignorance nd naivety makes him so much easier for noah to manipulate him. she doesn't mean to at first, she sees a child who could use some help, and she's always wanted a child. but they're at war, and sacrifices need to be made.

WOOH i am. a little tired and brain foggy.

I don't have much left to pack myself, and my dad has decided he doesn't want to take much at all. It'll be easy to fit all of it in the car. We're a few appointments and some sorting of my own things away from the roadtrip.

I'm still a little nervous but honestly not afraid. I'm not ready to jump straight into being an adult finally but I'm so ready, to NOT be ready. Like I know this is gonna sap my energy and be super difficult but it will be the kind of difficult I have wanted to deal with for YEARS, INSTEAD of the shit i had to drag myself through for years.

I've wanted to be an Actual Adult(TM) since i was TWELVE but I never got the chance. We were suffocated under the genuine, actual, horrors of abuse at every turn. Then, I'm legitamitely uncomfortable with being in the system in my home state. I don't have whatever it would take to put up with possible discrimination and roadblock after roadblock in my path to transition. I couldn't do that.

Any amount of conflict between me and [Life Thing] or [Person I Dont Know] just fucks with me. It's more complicated than that obviously, but to be concise, I barely have the energy in this house to brush my teeth each day and get up on time. And I want to get up on time and care for myself and this house but I just, can't.

It's too much. And you know it doesnt help that we haven't owned a vacuum cleaner or a mop for three years at this point which is much much worse a reality than you might think. and the washer dryer died recently + wasn't working well for the past few years. so that's fun.

I'm, not anxious right now but I've been anxious and nervy about this move before. It'll come back, I know it but god I'm ready for the "goop year," I am so so ready for the problems we'll face because finally, it won't be in vain. Finally, we won't be suffering for the promise of upgrades we can't afford due to the debt. I want an apartment for myself and my dad to live in together, I don't think I can jump straight into living on my own but if that's what I have to do I think I could manage it.

Either way we plan to be in the same complex at bare minimum.

I'm excited and afraid and optimistic and altogether right now, tired. Like usual- I know I mention how tired I am a lot but honestly it's never physical it's always mental. I am always mentally tired in this house. When we had a schedule with delivery driving and I was on my supplements, we were making money and I felt good, I wasn't like this.

I wasn't tired 24/7 and I can't wait to have more spoons than ever before. This house is a miserable ruin of debt and sorrow and two decades of pain I cannot put into words, I might never be able to explain my own feelings in this house. I'm not sure I even know how deep it goes, not right now while I live here still and have to shield myself from the pain, but god it's awful.

All I have ever wanted was to be content. To have enough. To be able to get a treat for myself or a gift for someone I loved now and again. A liveable income. I don't expect to have that immediately in the new state & housing. But I DO expect that it will be a hell of a lot easier to figure how to have that in the new place.

1)summarize

after trying to explain this book to someone 5 min after k, rly got the feeling that a 'book review' urge was in order lest i keep harrassinf others w bad ones. Lapvona is a town in feudal medieval times and the story lapvona describes 5 seasons in the town. written in third person with shifting perspective/main characters. the most main character is an ugly misshapen boy, Marek. the town is very religious and markek is as well. very convinced that meekness and abuse by others raise one up in the eyes of god. given how the story turns out, hes kind of vindicated. his dad, jude, tends sheep and abuses himself and marek with good faith. feudal life is unpleasant. a lord lives on a hillside, with the pastures below, and the town below that. it is quickly and then continually revealed how the social structure is determined on tactics by the lord, villiam, to extract resources from peasants/townspeople. villiam is spoiled and accustomed to a leisurely, entertainment filled life.

after an especially brutal beating from Jude, marek meets his rich friend (son of villiam) and kills him on the mountaintop. the son (jacob) lies on a rock after falling, while marek watches and then guiltily but detachedly runs home. villiam is not interested in mourning his lost son, and so he trades his corpse for marek, who suddenly finds himself living in the castle with a servant attending to him around the clock. the servant is young and was in love with young jude and so hates marek and uses her service to him as a way to prove her righteousness.

after jacob dies, it doesnt rain for months. famine soon follows. most people abandon their houses and live by the lake, eating mud and each other. jude and ina eat the local blind man, reluctantly and then very enthusiastically.

marek and others in the castle do not suffer of course. the drought is also made much worse because villiam hoards snowfall before it reaches the town, using up a bunch on peaches, gardens, pools, flowers, etc. while the town has all dried out. villiams wife is killed while she tries to run after a lover who has also been killed, and the rains begin again.

grigor seems like one of the few townspeople who begins to question villiam's ruling practices. after the drought, rewards of food are bestowed upon the village. grigor wonders where they came from, and also starts to see strange coincidences in the timings of raids upon the village and tax-paying practices. grigor is grumpy about all this, and also resents the local 100 year old midwife, ina. ina is an expert naturalist and is very healthy and feeds all the babies milk. many grown men continue to return to her to suck her nipples etc.

grigor meets ina, believing she is a witch and connected to the kings extraction schemes. he finds her very intelligent, opens his eyes you could say. they get along well and he too starts to enjoy botanical medicine/farming.

mareks entire family, includingg his mom who abandoned him and jude after birth, ends up living at the castle; marek as the little lord, jude caring for the horses, and his mother as wife-to-be. she is pregnant and the baby is given a christlike significance since nobody knows what a virgin is supposed to look like.

mareks mother hates marek because he is the product of the incestual rape of her brother. her new child was conceived when jude raped her just after eating the blind man. she dies in childbirth, but ina keeps it a secret. ina, adoptive mother of 100ish, gets her hair color and milk back and is generally flourishing.

villiam gets killed by a bottle of wine that everyone seems to know is poison. in the confusion marek finally sneaks in to meet his somewhat brother, who he has been resenting since learning of its conception. with everyone distracted, marek takes the baby to the top of the mountain and tells it how much better it is to be like a bird.

xong. i liked the shifting perspective, used to describe someone's reading of a situation and then upset it with someone elses view. makes everyone seem very bumbling which was entertaining. also the suffering is presented as somewhat detached (partly bc of the religious ecstasy aspect), often comic.
