Modern AU where Eddie is a tech repair person at an apple store in Chicago while he tries to make it big with his band and Steve is a spoiled rich kid who is trying to cover up that he's been using his macbook to film for his OnlyFans or something similar and he needs that shit wiped.

Eddie is as professional as he can be, but can't help but be amused at Steve being worried that he's gonna see everything.

S: seriously, just wipe everything. nothing has to be saved. don't even look through each file. just start over. E: okay sure. but you know you could just buy a new laptop. S: my dad checks my credit card statements. E: okay, so tell him you bought it for a friend or something. S: just. can you wipe it? E: yeah i can.

Eddie doesn't let him know that he already has seen everything because of course he subscribes to S.H. and often leaves him bigger tips than he can afford. He doesn't even know why Steve does it since he's apparently rich, or his dad is.

It only takes a few hours to wipe it, and Eddie's grateful he managed to help Steve instead of his coworker who is a certified Creep ™️ who absolutely would have made sure to watch as many of the videos as he could first.

He calls Steve and leaves a message for him that it's done, but doesn't hear back and Steve doesn't come by. He does the same thing again the next day, and the day after that, starting to grow concerned.

He goes so far as to check Steve's OF page, just to see if there's an update, but sees it's been shut down, like it never existed.

He finally caves, does the most unprofessional thing he's ever done, and texts Steve's number from his own phone.

This is Eddie from the apple store. Your laptop's ready. Just want you to know after 30 days we usually get rid of unclaimed items.

There's no response.

But two days later, Steve comes into the store wearing sunglasses and a hat, clearly trying to hide.

When he takes off the sunglasses to sign everything, Eddie sees a healing black eye and swollen nose.

He isn't stupid.

And he suddenly feels extremely protective over him.

E: did your dad find out? S: find out what? E: about your online job? S: how do you know? E: I wasn't gonna say anything, and I swear everything got wiped without anyone including myself seeing, but I do subscribe to you and I recognized you when you came in. S, already having a panic attack: shit no. this is bad. okay you can't say anything about this to anyone. please. E: I wouldn't, I won't. but your dad found out didn't he? he did this to you? S: *nods* E: you safe now? S: *shrugs* E: need a place to stay? S: i've been saving. that's why i did this in the first place. so i can pay rent somewhere. E: I have a second bedroom at my place that just opened up. up to you.

And of course Steve takes it because he's desperate, and doesn't have real world experience with a lot of strangers, but has a good feeling about this.

Eddie finds that Steve is a very typical rich kid; ignorant to a lot of the world's struggles, but not an asshole despite his bitchy attitude sometimes coming out, thinks money can fix everything until Eddie shows him that apologies and a cuddle on the couch can be better.

Steve is so touch starved, he doesn't even realize the way he always folds into Eddie's side when they're just relaxing and watching a movie, or how he always lets his hand brush against his side or hand when Eddie gets home from work. Eddie helps him look for a job, and they find that he loves working at a daycare even though the money isn't that great.

They fall in love so easily, neither of them actually realize it happens until Steve comes home after a very long day before the Christmas holidays, covered in paint stains from crafts with the kids, and Eddie just welcomes him home with a kiss.

Chapter 2 - Page 24

Chapter 2 has finally concluded! A whole 8 pages longer than the first!! Woo!! I have a feeling they may just get longer as we get more into the story haha. Oh well! Like last time, I'll be taking a break between chapters to rest a little, get the plot points for the next chapter more polished, and try to get a solid backlog of pages ready. Going to take about of month off- POSSIBLY a month and a half? Depends on how well prepping the chapter goes (I have doomed myself by setting it in ancient Ecruteak City and am not as familiar with classic Japanese architecture as I would like hahaha- time to find some refs and do a bunch of studies!). Either way- it will be back in mid-late November! That DOESN'T mean that the comic feed will be quiet though! Like last time, there's a between chapter Interlude page that will be going up on October 11th! And after that, I plan to post some behind the scenes development stuff on days that the comic would normally update- so if folks want to they can get a look at how I put this together. If folks are interested, I could also open up the ask box for a little while? Do a bit of Q&A for comic related things (I won't be answering anything too spoilery, but you're welcome to ask!). And since it has been asked for (and rightfully so, this thing is getting long and difficult to navigate) I've compiled a pinned masterpost to make navigation easier for folks on mobile. There's been an Index Page set up for the web version since the beginning- unfortunately it's hard to get to normally on mobile, so a lot of folks didn't have an easy way to thumb through pages, and that's no good! So- fixed! I'm also in the process of going back and putting "Prev", "Next", "Read from the Beginning", and "Latest" links on each page update. Which honestly I SHOULD have been doing from the start, but hey- live and learn I suppose? Also ALSO am going to see about getting the Neocities page for the comic that I started months ago more finished so it has its own home away from Social Media- but that's a bit lower priority at the moment haha.

But yeah! Honestly, thank you all so much for reading! The response to this silly little passion project has honestly blown me out of the water, I can't believe how many people are keeping up with it now. :'D I love love LOVE reading reactions and speculation in the comments and tags! Thank you all for sticking around so far, and I hope you continue to enjoy this self-indulgent little project as it goes!

Welcome Home Website Update Reaction Notes (3/9/2024) Part 1 (SPOILERS)

Hey guys! Today I'm gonna show you my reactions to the Welcome Home website via my notes on Google Docs. I wrote 5 pages and spent around a few hours exploring the website lol. Hope you enjoy it! Here's Part 1!

NEW HOME ART IT'S SNOWING

Wally’s Christmas outfit makes him look like he’s ready to work at the North Pole lol

THEY’RE ALL DECORATED FOR CHRISTMAS (or in this world they seem to call it “Housewarming” which is pretty fitting)

Also “Happy Housewarming” and “Welcome Pillar Family”??? WE GET TO MEET HOWDY’S FAMILY???

I remember seeing Clown’s post that there’s going to be a new voice actor in Welcome Home so I’m wondering if the new voice actor is voicing one of Howdy’s relatives I can’t wait to find out

Also is that a clock tower at the bottom??? It looks like a clock tower lol

Also the clock tower’s faces looks like Yellow Guy from Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared lol

Wally has painted something on the empty canvas…Is that a cup or a genie lamp? Please let me know what this is lol

New Wally information added: “Home is the reason behind the creation of ‘Homewarming,’ a holiday created by Wally.”

New Barnaby information added: “Similar sources, such as Barnaby’s Joke Kit in ‘The Welcome Home Wishbook,’ noted Barnaby being able to perform a gaggle of tricks, such as juggling, balancing on a ball, and steadying large objects on the tip of his nose.”

I think Barnaby’s Joke Kit is a new merchandise that the Playfellow Exhibition uncovered but we’ll see later

New Julie information added: “Many of her skits and activities centered around playing games, whether they were as familiar as jump rope and hopscotch or simply made up on a whim. ( See ‘The Welcome Home Wishbook.’ )” and “Hibernation may be another descriptor of this cartoon species, as uncovered media surrounding the holiday of ‘Homewarming’ depicted Julie hibernating throughout the winter. Akin to Barnaby, Julie’s paws also have hearts at the bottom.”

So basically Julie and her family hibernate and she has paws that have hearts in the bottom??? Interesting…

New Frank information added: “Some audio, such as in the vinyl record titled, ‘Homewarming,’ presents a strange sound that can be heard accompanying Frank’s vocals and could imply his head rotating.”

…Frank??? Are you ok??? I’m scared…

Also I just realized that at the end of their profiles so far, it shows how the puppets operate except for Wally (which is sus)

“It is assumed Barnaby’s puppet was rotated between a live-hand puppet and a walk-around puppet, typically to keep him in frame with his much shorter neighbors and requiring two puppeteers.”

“Julie is believed to be a puppet operated by one handler.”

“Frank is believed to be a puppet operated by one handler.”

Eddie doesn’t seem to have new information added except that he “...was a live-hand puppet who required two puppeteers to operate.”

HOWDY I MISS YOU

New Howdy information added: “Within the vinyl record, ‘Howdy’s Holiday Hullabaloo,’ one can see a ‘quarter of a wiggle’ of them.”

I don’t know what that really means but I can’t wait to hear (or maybe see) Howdy again

“Howdy’s puppet was rotated between a live-hand puppet and a walk-around puppet in order to keep him in frame with his fellow residents, requiring two or more puppeteers.”

If I was a puppeteer and got hired by the creators of Welcome Home, I would work with the Howdy puppet lol

SALLY’S BACK TO NORMAL…but I’m still worried about her…

New Sally information added: “In recently uncovered material and archived footage, Sally is shown to be able to literally shine or glow in the dark, although it is unclear if a similar effect was applied to the puppet. Concept artwork revealed that Sally was a live-hand puppet that required two or three puppeteers to operate due to the size of her head, as it was much larger than other puppets.”

I wonder if a toy exists somewhere where it’s a Sally plush that talks and glows in the dark…That would be sick and I would buy it immediately and use her as my new cuddle buddy/night light…

New Poppy information added: “Poppy was rarely seen outside of her barn, typically being visited by neighbors instead, and has no material, illustrated or otherwise, showing her outdoors. This is further proven in found footage where Poppy is excluded (for unclear reasons) from Wally’s Homewarming party.” and “Within the context of the show, this was because she was too scared to use appliances. This also may be the reason why she is a vegetarian, according to “The Welcome Home Cookbook” that depicted an only sunflower seed turkey.”

Poppy is excluded??? For unclear reasons???

I’m worried about Poppy now…

“Poppy’s puppet is a walk around puppet that concept work noted stood at around eight feet tall, but photographs showing her height have yet to be uncovered.”

Also the clock tower doesn’t seem to be clickable…sad

In the About Us section, there’s a new question which is “This isn’t the same website as before. Why did you move it?” and a doodle next to the question…Interesting…

I checked the News section and I only see half of the title “Latest Headlines and Updates for Welcome Home!”...I wonder if that’s a mistake or if that was on purpose…

“I apologize about the date on the most recent news post. I assumed it was still December. I’m not sure how this could have happened. The individual who posted this must not have been paying proper attention. Please pay it no mind, have a wonderful day! Happy spring! Almost as good as Homewarming!”...That seems kinda sus

FAQ:

Are “T”, “D”, and “Their Captor” really these character’s names? For now, yes, but probably not forever! They are stand-in placeholder names until I can think of proper names for these guys. I wanted to get the entries that I wrote for WoW's Birthday Whump Event! posted in time, so they don’t have names yet. Can’t rush those things, yanno? Hopefully when I’m ready to post the actual canon story they’ll all have real names!

How old are the characters in your main story? D and T are college age, though Iʻm not sure what specific ages yet. Theyʻre both beyond legal drinking age, and D is slightly older than T. Thatʻs all I know for now, as Iʻm still writing the main canon story. They might be older or younger in side fics/AUs. If so, Iʻll state it in the post of the story entry itself.

Why is the “D” capitalized in “We Are TroubleD”? Because right now the characters stand-in names are “T” and “D”, so “T”rouble"D”! “We” are T and D, and they are in trouble because they are whump characters.

How often will you update the canon story? Hopefully frequently once I get it off the ground, but you can never really predict that. Iʻm going to try to have as much as I can done of the whole story before I start posting in earnest, so hopefully once it starts going you wonʻt have to wait long!

Can I draw/write about your characters? Sure! Though it might be a bit challenging without references or profiles for them yet. Fingers crossed Iʻll have those made for the future! The one thing I ask is that if you create anything with my characters, please link back to me and donʻt claim them as your own. Thanks!

🪶 GULLCLAN 🪶

Gullclan is founded by Gullstar, an unwilling leader who was thrust into the role after gaining a reputation among cats of the coast for taking in those who were in need. When more clowders began crowding in, the need for some sort of organization was needed, and they settled upon creating "Clans", each named for their leader to separate them from one another.

Gullclan lives in a series of caves around a number of tidepools, most of their hunting being seafowl or the animals who live in the pools. They are good at swimming by default and prefer to keep to themselves rather than tangle with the other groups. However, this doesn't mean they're afraid to defend themselves and the homes that they've built. Gullstar is ready to show anyone who tests his clan exactly what they're made of.

As Gullstar's deputy stands Laureldrop, a careful molly who wants nothing more than the best for her clan.

As the clan's first healer stands Splashfoot, a nervous tom who is still getting used to the weight of his duties. He never thought he'd have such an imporant role in anything, much less a clan, but he's dedicated to keeping Gullclan healthy.

From various walks of life come the other founders of the clan, named Riverlightning, Ivysnap, Tansyspot, Juncodapple, Patridgeholly, Saplingrose, and Rosemarythroat. Together these cats form the foundations of Gullclan, and seek to create a home for not only themselves but also any others who seek a place to call home along the coast.

Hi! Welcome to the tumblr for Gullclan, where I'll be posting about the life of the clan as it goes on and seeing where the tide takes them. Gullclan is a clan generated by Sablesteel's Clangen! Theory for Welcome Home

Based off of the new Updates

SPOILERS!!!!

If you haven’t see it yet I recommend Watching the Night Minds walkthrough of the new Welcome Home Updates.

Read on

So. In the update it’s revealed that the museum where the researchers were trying to restore the art and artifacts from Welcome Hone had to wear gloves.

WHY

Because some kind of mold was coming from it and effecting the workers. There was mention of you couldn’t stop hearing a phone ring. And many speculate most of the workers went mad crazy.

Now, here’s what’s interesting. We see the same black mold under who???

HOME.

Home is supposed to be alive. Another character that others can talk to. In the Neighborhood page on the website, You can see the black stuff under him and that picture of the eye looking at Wally through the window surrounded by the black goo.

What if somehow Home got infected by the mold. And it’s effecting Wally. He acts so monotone. So awkward. He actually sounds like he’s not well.

Now scientifically mold can cause things like behavioral changes, headaches, stuffy noise or throat. It can cause physiological changes. Soo…what if that’s what is going on…and…maybe home is slowly killing Wally. And it’s causing Wally to forget things

I will update this later.

i've always kind of meant to fic rec more and even when sometimes I can post a fic i'm reading on here I always feel bad I don't do it more often. The ao3 share option always feels hard to read and you always wanna edit the summaries to expand on what you as a reader found compelling instead of what the author thought to put... anyway, tonight i finally mustered myself and ignored everything I usually do at night to spend (checks watch) 2.5 hours putting this list together and fighting tumblr formatting. They're in no particular order, and every single author you should check out their other fics; a lot of them have updated other things since I read these in my AO3 history. If you've never read fics for fandoms you're not in: this is the list to pic one from and just go. Crossovers may be posted in multiple sections, just in case. This is just a list of fics that, when I found them in my history I said, "I remember this one! It was so good!" and a lot of them are ones that, every time they show up in my inbox, I drop everything to read (or I stow them away for the upcoming three hours I desperately will need them). Because of that, a lot of them are fucked up, so check warnings once you get on the page. But like. I think they're fucked up in a delightful little way.

Also a lot of them are long. SUPER long. You all did this for free. Do you know how much I owe you for nightshifts alone, much less long trips and difficult, depressed days that I just had to get to tomorrow and a long fanfic gave me somewhere else to be?

Update from Battleship Texas Foundation, September 2022.

"Hi everyone!

Over the last couple of days this group has grown. And that's great! We rely heavily on this group to pump out information (we're no longer pumping out water so this will have to do) to everyone.

As you can guess we are swamped with posts of all the awesome pictures and videos you took of the tow. We're doing our very best to get them approved. Give us a little time and we'll get through them. (The BTF riding crew just returned home today and all of them need some rest.)

I want to welcome all of our new members and address two super common questions that I am noticing when going through posts. So here we go!

1) How close can I get to the shipyard?

You can't get close to the shipyard on land and there's really no angle to see it on Pelican island at all. Your best bet is to go over to Pier 21 and you'll see it front and center.

2) Will there be a livestream of the restoration?

Not yet, and we can't guarantee it. Right now we're focusing on getting the ship ready for those major repairs. Keeping a streaming device on the dock floor or the ship while there's work going on is a tough thing to do and as always, safety first!"

Poor Erik is in ⚡🔋no shape🔋⚡ to communicate, but he's doing his best. Maggie has no idea whether he's messing with her on purpose, or what's wrong with him, but she won't let him go. They'll get to him eventually. (I've just finished that part, actually. They've got him! Uh. Sorta. At least he's... safe now? 😅Oh, I can't say that with a straight face.)

This is the last of my queued posts/instalments, and I have no idea where my reading and drawing ability will be when it goes live. If I can't update you on my condition (and the condition of the next six instalments) I'll hafta have the spouse type a note for me. I want to do six more right away, or I might take a two week break, or - if I'm really struggling - it'll be a break of indeterminate length. I hope I'll be okay to just keep going, my Patrons have been so patient this year. Thanks, y'all.

But, either way, there will be a break at some point, because I'll have a while where I can't write or draw and that's going to eat up my backlog. Also, recent updates have done more stupid things to my theme and I think the site needs a redesign - maybe including some radical simplification. I'm just not mobile friendly and I can't make the current format behave. People with better eyesight than me do a lot of reading on their phones.

I have no idea how to build a community and I'm flailing, really, but maybe if I can get the interface more convenient, more people will like me? (I have no idea. Probably they won't.)

I'm not in love with how Erik's design looks right now - he looks like a train wreck, but he should look like a train wreck. Nobody is going to fix his hair. I still feel self-conscious about it. He used to be cute. I've got to do a full-body rendering of how he'll clean up, but I don't have time for it now.

However, I did do a page of something trying to get comfortable with his ability to emote in train reck form. I don't have time to finish it, but I think it looks cool so I'm sharing.

This is potentially a way for me to serve you the music without lyric backgrounds that you can't read! It's very labour-intensive, but I was figuring out how to do it and it might get a little easier with practice. Also, my current tablet is struggling with the resolution and I plan to update it by the end of the year - depending on sale prices.

After I saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I found out the original Off-Broadway incarnation had filked music with lyrics by John Cameron Mitchell. 🥹😊I'm calling it! This is something other people sharing my identity do to tell their stories! Filk musicals are an enby thing! We do not give a shit about the music industry's copyrights! I'm performing nonbinary correctly!

Nature of Knoves - March 2023

Hello and welcome to the March Knoves update! How is everyone doing now that winter is slowly losing its grip on us and spring is on its way? The fields near my home are full of dandelions and it's just so wonderful to see colour again.

Before I update you on show specific changes I thought I would let you all know about some company changes being made. We are currently going through some rebranding and resifting of company structure, because of this we will not be taking any money on for a couple months due to a few legal changes that are being made. This means we will be freezing the Patreon and Redbubble for some time.

This does not stop us from releasing content. We appreciate your patience with us whilst we sort this out.

So let's go through the updates of our shows one by one.

Morland PI

Morland PI Season One has been released in full, and not only that, we hit 1000 listeners today! That's amazing, imagine that, 1000 separate listens of this Podcast! Our next goal for this show is to reach 2000 listens and have season two recorded by the end of June. I think we can do it, especially with our cracking show runner May Toudic - seriously she is a beast.

SQUISHH

Squishh took a slightly unplanned hiatus. With Christmas, jobs, new projects, and just the general need for self care we had to take a little unplanned break to recuperate our energies. We are working on bringing Squishh back soon, with new episodes about Queerness and Disability hosted guesting the amazing Maddie Cooper, along with an episode on asexuality in the Stormlight Archive.

Rihamtheria - DND

We have been slowly recording episodes for this fun new DnD podcast - however due to the nature of DnD being longer format, each episode is a beast to edit. We are plugging through to get this ready for a big fun release.

Murray Mysteries

Murray Mysteries has hit 69k listens (noice). We are also going to be talking about Murray Mysteries at the Aberdeen WarWORD festival in a special panel about adaptation - From page to wave: making audio drama adaptations.

It has been scheduled for Saturday 30th September, 3-4pm at Aberdeen Central Library. You can find a link to the website here. The panel will have show runner May Toudic, voice of Lucy Westenra - Megan John, and voice of Mina Murray - Drew Frankie Victorie.

For sometime now I have been encourage to post and share my fanfics with the public. I chose tumblr as a safe spot to place my writing because of the kindness in the community and the shared love for composition. I am a first time writer but a big dreamer, with an active imagination and if you’re here… your curiosity served you well.

Travel with me down the road of fantasies- for I would love to show you my world 💜 Here’s the information of the fics I’m currently working on. Some of these are all to be projected well over 15 chapters but, first:
