Taiwan is offering up another adaptation of a Chinese novel by another popular author Mu Su Li about brothers-not-brothers in The Only One, which is rumored to air in the middle of the year.
Tumblr media
Their parents are dating and move in together, so the mains go from enemies-to-??? and the only reason for the question marks on a Taiwanese BL is because the word on these BL streets (and his MDL page) is one of the actors works heavily in China, so . . .
Tumblr media
I'm going to have faith in queer director Liu Kuang Hui, who helmed Best Sisters Forever and YOUR NAME ENGRAVED HEREIN
Tumblr media
And for The Untamed fans, ALL the screenwriters are the same for this series.
Tumblr media
I trust you, Taiwan.
Tumblr media
No matter what.
I'm going to acknowledge that last year Taiwanese production companies said they were going to invest in QLs and here we are getting elite talent. I am biased and have never met a Taiwanese BL I didn't like, but we only get a handful of them every year. Now, we are still only getting a handful but with force behind them. Oooookay, Taiwan. You didn't have to snap like that. I see you boo boo!

number of unique chinese characters in a book
So there's this blog I read long ago on the number of unique chinese characters one uses. Say a person writes a 10k chinese novel. But how many characters are discrete?
Classical chinese poems and songs have me doubting my chinese ability as always, and that got me curious about how many chinese characters I know or write on a daily basis.
To answer this (and to very much knock my confidence like an idiot) I put together something to count the number of unique chinese characters in a passage. I use about... 2.8k characters in my general writing.
Then I wondered about the authors I read.
A quick search online suggests that a chinese user knows and uses 1000-3000 characters regularly, and after high school you are supposed to have taken in over 6000 characters -- something I'm pretty sure I didn't do.
That said, I got curious about the number of unique characters these authors I read usually use. That doesn't at all indicate writing competency, but well, it felt interesting regardless so I decided to go play with that a bit.
For reference, jinyong's wuxia novels are around 3.5k to 4.5k unique characters per novel.
you only need 2.5-3k characters to use chinese like natives do, it's not too much really!
methodology rambles feel free to skip to next heading
I recorded some numbers and figures for something to work with with works I enjoyed. Fanfics I also included, which I saved on my computer a long time ago.
I made attempts to analyse the data in a fairer way, looking at the total word count and the highest frequency of "的"s (a very common chinese particle, think the letter "e") used in the passage. That sort of helped, but at the same time there are always outliers that manage to muddle up understanding every single time.
Tumblr media
So now, observations. I categorised them into four levels according to the number of unique characters, from lowest to highest.
observations
note: notable novels are highlighted in yellow for easy spotting, and fanfictions are shaded in grey. I added english titles for most of them because I didn't put them in when I first did the screencaptures.
first level: below 3.5k unique characters
Good authors don't always equate an extensive character set. Conversely, there are authors who basically cannot write well (subjective) and still end up with a surprisingly not-low unique character count.
Tumblr media
Works like 靜影沉璧、瀟湘水冷、風骨同守 that adopted a more literary, classical chinese writing register had lower unique character counts than the others. This was not what I expected, considering these works were where I found most words I'm unfamiliar with and ended up questioning my chinese reading ability (sorry lol).
I was also surprised with 潭石、水千丞、覆水難收、木蘇里 (mu su li) because their writing are all pretty good, all achieved while using a much smaller lexicon range than what I've expected.
(不問三九 with good writing was also low and in this range, but I forgot to mark hers down so, shrugs.)
second: 3.6k to 4.5k characters
That said, some authors do typically reach a range of around 3.6-3.7k unique characters, which is a pretty wide character set. Supposing adding a book of an author increases the total number of unique characters the author has used, these authors tend to round up at around 4k+ words with 2-4 novels inputted.
With each book added, there would be an increase of a few hundred unique characters, but they tend to level off at about 4.3k etc., and that is likely their maximum unique character count.
Some do level off at around 3.7k though, which indicates a narrower range of lexicon employed.
Tumblr media
third level: the weird level
weird because the unique character count increases by leaps and bounds with every new novel of theirs that I added, and we end up perplexed and baffled.
At around 1M to 1.5M words inputted from an author, I thought that the unique character count would be pretty steady already, similar to how the unique character counts for authors at the second level levelled off eventually.
That's not the case for these two authors here. It is perplexing because the settings of their books do not vary greatly, yet the choice of characters and words were, apparently, diverse enough to give a "forever"-going increase in unique character count with every book I added.
Tumblr media
This category aggravates me so much I couldn't make head and tail of it honestly lol.
the final level: the eloquent and literate
Of course, in this world there are always very literate individuals, and verbose they may seem, some are good writers. Here are the authors who actually have a vast unique character range.
Tumblr media
You may be wondering how this 3.7k differs from the ones in the second level, but bear in mind this is merely the result from a single work of the author, or that the author's book is, like, half the length of the other authors while achieving a far higher unique character count than others.
And there's meatbun at the top of the list; I used both 2ha and Yu Wu for her stats, but her 2ha alone was already higher than Royal Nirvana and any other book I tested, so she goes in this category.
And et voila. All of this may not make sense to you, I'm not even sure about how the reception of this would be, it was a passion project and an interesting evening that I had, and now that I have some (sort of subjective) results I hope to share it out. :)
feel free to hmu for peculiar thought experiments and discussions on this topic!!
this is a repost from another site. i have used too many a username, and am not ready to link together all of them yet (someday) -- if you recognise this and wonder, message me, that's probably another account of mine.

Note
what's your ranking of danmei novels you've read so far? i'd love to know your favorites!
I don’t really like rankings, so please don’t take my words as a strict top or something
In short, my favorites are: Qiang Jin jiu, Can Ci Pin, Lie Huo Jiao Chou, Mo Du, close seconds are Zhen Hun and Sha Po Lang — I re-read all of them once a year or so
In length, from Priest I’ve also read Faraway Wanderers, Lord Seventh, Liu Yao, Jinse; I would say Priest is my favorite author, looking forward to read more (all) of her novels
I’ve read MXTX, of course: I love Tian Guan Ci Fu; I’m okay with Mo Dao Zu Shi, I’m neutral to Svsss
From T97 I’ve read only Qjj, but I’m planning to read Nan Chan one day
I’ve also read Qian Qiu by Meng Xi Shi, QQGK by Mu Su Li, Golden Stage by Cang Wu Bin Bai; I like them quite much
Here you go, hope I didn’t forget any!

Kinda shocked how Copper Coins by Mu Su Li (author of global examination I believe?) Isn't as popular as it should be. It's well written and has amazing and fun characters with found family vibes. Great mystery and the MC is shameless dramatic tsundere who's so easy to love ngl with the ML being a "cold" mysterious quiet but also kind guy who puts up with the MC's shit.
Each arc has great pacing and emotional moments. It's hard to put down. I'm only 35% of the way through but it's so good so hopefully it doesn't disappoint and stays great all the way to the end.

To celebrate Science Fiction Day, which is today on January 2nd, 2023, we asked DPP contributors to recommend us their favorite science fiction that they read in 2022! And we got some really awesome answers… (all spelling/grammar is sic the original recommender)
The Red Scholar’s Wake by Aliette de Bodard. D. V. Morse’s recommendation: “lesbian pirates in space with lots of Vietnamese culture throughout. And so much more I want to say that I keep deleting because spoilers.”
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Cap’s recommendation: “a ‘motley crew/found family on a perilous journey’ story that centers queer, poly, and otherwise non-traditional characters and relationships. Book 1 of a Hugo-winning series, female author.”
The Testing (The Testing Trilogy) by Joelle Charbonneau. Annabeth Lynch’s recommendation: “I absolutely loved it and I never see people talk about it. It’s distopian sci-fi.”
Threadbare (Storm Fronts Series) by Elle E. Ire. boneturtle’s recommendation: “an action-packed futuristic scifi story featuring ruthless mercenary and cyborg Vick, whom no one (including herself) believes is human, and her lover and handler Kelly, the only person who trusts her implicitly. A simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking lesbian romance that confronts the nature of love and humanity, and what it means to be the hero when you feel like the villain.”
Firebreak by Nicole Kornher-Stace. Adrian Harley’s recommendation: “one of my favorite books I read this year. It’s got a fun adventure setup about a VR gamer who starts discovering the truth behind the star NPCs of the VR game, PLUS the most chillingly plausible dystopia I’ve ever read, bar none, PLUS an aro/ace protagonist and a central platonic relationship.”
The Spare Man by Mary Robinette Kowal. Dei Walker’s recommendation: “it’s The Thin Man in SPAAAACE with a heroine with chronic pain, a really deftly handled non-gender-binary selection of characters, and queer.”
Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell. alec’s recommendation (without comment).
Scythe by Neal Shusterman. nottesilhouette’s recommendation: “the whole series has queer characters in it though the first book is really focused on like 5 people that are all kinda straight. and I am queer, and I like it.”
Global Examination by Mu Su Li. Nina Waters’s recommendation: “queer semi-dystopian vaguely sci-fi manhua shenanigans!”
The Martian by Andy Weir. Rascal Hartley’s recommendation: “not queer, but definitely one of my absolute favorite reads.”
What were YOUR favorite science fiction reads of 2022? We’d love to hear about them!

Recent Reads : November 📚
Tumblr media
This is not gonna be a monthly thing. I just wanted to post it and i don’t know how much i’m gonna be able to read this December cause it’s a busy month. I’m thinking of picking up Qiang Jin Jiu and it’s a pretty long and heavy novel so it might take me the whole month. who knows if I’m gonna pick up a short novel in between. If you have any recs based on what I share below, please let me know. Oh, and I also wanna try Fake Slackers.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
• First Class Lawyer - NU Link | English Translation
An example of a novel I picked up once and dropped cause i wasn’t in the right headspace. Also at the time it was not completed so I thought to just wait. You can really go back to other stories and give it another try, it’s not always the novel’s fault and i’m happy that I decided to go back and read it. This is such a special story, my first Mu Su Li novel which is from what I understand a popular author ( yes I did read Global Examination but the Manhua ). I’ve always been a fan of scifi stories and settings that touch upon interstellar living. This is really not heavy on technical terms or boring— which is an easy presumption because of the whole “lawyer” thing. There is a good balance between the plot and relationship between the characters.
Tumblr media
I adore the dynamic between the MC & ML and i don’t think there is an imbalance at all despite the whole teacher-student setting. if you read the summary of it, you’ll understand there is a twist to it. The ML ( Gu Yan ) is well written too and not flat even if his personality is supposed to be aloof. My favorite trope here tho is how the MC is changed and healed ( in a way ) by the love between him and the ML. It may seem cliche but i like the thought of people living a fuller life because they have someone to share it with. Also Gu Yan’s feelings for Yan Sizhui is so pure i just 😭😭😭
• After I Possessed the Tmall Genie of the School Grass - NU Link | English Translation
I was browsing through some school themed novels because i enjoyed the moon is coming to me novel and this came up. I don’t know why i’m in a school tropes kick for the month but I truly enjoy it. The title sounds like it’s gonna be an absurd story but i was so wrong. T-mall genie is like google home or alexa, where you can ask it do stuff. I thought this will focus on the fantasy aspect but it was so much more based on reality. The “possession” was just a plot device for the MC to get to know the life of the ML that not everyone is privy too.
Lu Yunfei’s hate for the english subject is so hilarious 😂😂😂 and I like the side characters/ friends. The star of the story tho is the ML, Bian Jinyuan. The top student who has to work multiple jobs and has secrets of his own. I feel for Bian Bian because I know how hard it is to work for your education. He is so smart but he is in danger of not finishing school because his family can’t afford it. I love these kids! I don’t think it’s possible to read this and not root for them. This story is really charming. It’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s about overcoming your prejudice towards people and finding common ground. Strangers/Enemies to Friends to Lovers tropes at it’s finest. Plus it’s super short, only 80 chapters. It’s the perfect weekend read if you wanna be cozy and have no plans to go out— give this a try.
• My Underachieving Seatmate Doesn't Need Any Comforting - NU Link | English Translation
Another high school setting but with tears. Please read the tags over at NU in case you don’t like some topics on your novel and only want fluffy ones. A short story at 120 ( with extras ) and is a solid novel. There is hidden identity trope that causes funny misunderstandings and it’s so sweet how they wanna save each other from their “unfortunate” circumstance. It’s about trying to live a normal life after traumatic things happened to you. A hopeful story, that it’s gonna be a long road to recovery and there will be people helping you along the way.
Tumblr media
The romance aspect is so lovely but I like how the author included friends and family in making the MC/ML be a better version of themselves. Usually it’s all about the romantic relationship in novels like this so it is refreshing to read about how important it is to have a good support system and not just you & me against the world. Qiao Shao ( MC ) is really the best boy. I sometimes wanna cry because of how hard he wants to try and get better for the people around him. Seeing his transformation from Chapter 1 to the end is so rewarding. The ML ( He Shen ) is one of favorite characters now. He is a gremlin towards the MC and then cold towards everyone else. The way he dotes on the MC is so sweet too 🤍 Definitely a story I will be thinking about from time to time and will re-read.
That’s all for the Month and I enjoyed it all! I can hopefully apply the trend of one long novel and 1 or 2 shorts ones moving forward but who knows. I still have a lot of stories to get to. ✌🏼

Batch #18: Mystery BL
It's been a while since I posted anything, but here's a batch of some Mystery-ish BL titles I wrote about while procrastinating reading SVSSS.
It’s been a while since I posted a batch. Or anything at all. It’s not been a lot of posts this year, but here is another one nonetheless and it’s not SVSSS, although I will post reviews of volumes 3 and 4 sooner rather than later. Believe it or not, mystery and crime are honestly my fav genres, aside from historical fiction, so it’s probably odd I don’t write about more mystery titles. But I’m…

Znao sam to! Vraća se do kola i uzima mali frižider sa pićem iz njega.Uzimaju ležaljku do samog mora. Zatvara mu usta i pita :voliš? Ljubi je.
Čuje šum talasa u daljini. Udaraju na neke stene prekrivene školjkama.Izmislila je priču o steni i školjci i učinila je živom.Jednom stena, uvek stena, rekao joj je tada. Moja stena, pomislila je ona. Ugasićemo sunce svojom ljubavlju, kaže on, i bićemo samo nas dvoje, sami u svom kosmosu. Sipa vino.Ono crno, sa Pelješca. Dingač? Piju iz iste čaše. Usne im imaju slatkasto opori ukus vina.
Odjednom se otvara nebo i sve kiše ovog sveta se sliju na njih. Praznik ljubavi i kiše! Gotovo je nosi do kola. Pokriva je suvim peškirom i dugo ljubi. Ušuškana u njegovom zagrljaju zaspi. On pali kola i vozi jednom rukom, drugom je drži uz sebe.
Budi je oštar , rezak zvuk alarma.Mora na posao.. Misli s nežnošću na noćašnji san i pita se da li je on onakav, kakav je u njemu, ili..."stvari imaju onakav izgled kakav im da naša duša"

Very Subjective Comments on literary prose in danmei and cnovels
again just reposting an answer i wrote for record just dismiss it
Truthfully I don't generally find chinese web novels very well written. Outside danmei I've read web novels like Nirvana in Fire, The Longest Day in Chang'An, and Joy of Life, and while personal enjoyment level varies I did not find the writing literary, or the writing particularly good for any of them.
The same goes for danmei web novels. Some of them do have good writing, (all subjective of course), but the ones I marked with good prose are scantily few. These would include Before and After Marriage, Meng Xi Shi, 不问三九, 潭石, 三三娘, 静影沉璧; I also enjoyed the prose of Encountering a Snake and 2ha, but people have said to hate the prose so this is really subjective haha.
Prose which I'd say is good (subjective??) would be Dream of the Red Chamber, Jin Yong's wuxia novels (it's lively enough to be good for me), Yu Guangzhong, Qian Zhongshu's writings, etc., and many more of these san wen authors because their prose usually flows pretty well.
I've recently counted the number of unique chinese characters some of the danmei uses, it is by no means indicative of good prose but if you would like to use it for reference, here you go: https://fateandloveentwined.tumblr.com/post/724325933336625152/number-of-unique-chinese-characters-in-a-book
Note: I sometimes dabble in fanfiction circles -- some of the writing on lofter (chinese site akin to tumblr) has really good prose, especially for the Thousand Autumns fandom, I'm amazed haha anyway.
If one wishes for actual opinions:
MXTX -- same as Nirvana in Fire, prose isn't bad but is not very good either.
Priest -- a little less refined but still again, not bad at all.
Mu su li -- same as MXTX.
Meatbun -- I've read 2ha and Remnants of Filth -- the prose for the latter imo is not as good.
Yan Liangyu -- same as Priest.
Honestly? I've been conscious of my reading of "trashy romance fluff" in the past but I no longer care. I enjoy reading it, and it brings me much relieve from the hectic day, so why feel bad about my choice of fiction xD (Classics? yeah I'm getting to them, slowly.)

What are kaleidescope of death and global examination? You've piqued my interest after your liveblogging lol (as in, I'm very curious to know what makes one so terrible and the other so good, and what they're about)
Heyy! They are both danmei webnovels of the unlimited flow genre, with basically levelled survival games where if you die in the "game" you die in real life. Kaleidoscope of Death by Xi Zixu (147 chapters, info carrd) is horror-focused, where characters who are close to death must pass 12 doors that are kind of like elaborate escape rooms filled with ghosts and monsters typically from urban legends. Global Examination by Mu Su Li (166 chapters, info carrd) is similar but less focused on horror and follows characters who have been pulled into a mysterious system where they have to solve exam-style questions except the questions are actually dangerous scenarios where it's easy to die. And there's romance in both of them <3
GE is brilliant in the way that both the MC and ML are well-written with fleshed-out backstories and they are both incredibly smart and complement each other's skills perfectly. The exam system is really cleverly laid out and the way the characters solve each level is presented in a very logical way, so that the way they are smart doesn't feel forced and instead reads very natural! The world inside the system is also consistent and we get to find out more and more about it at a good pace, and the recurring characters all turn out to be very important not only to the plot but also to our protagonists.
To me the plot never felt like it was dragging on, because on top of solving each exam level there is a greater narrative connecting everything, so that eventually all the plot points come together in a very satisfying way at the end! The leads also have great chemistry even without knowing their backstories, which makes it even more emotional and romantic after you learn everything about them. It's genuinely one of my favourite webnovels!!
In comparison, KOD just falls flat despite the amount of 5 star reviews and the hype i keep seeing by people who recommend it as a similar novel to GE. I didn't think the horror part was scary at all, at least for me, because it relied mainly on stuff like grotesque ways to die and mutilated body parts, which i thought were just gross instead of actually scary. But the main problem i have with this novel is that the main characters are presented as 'smart' but the way they solved each door relied too much on luck and coincidences or them somehow coming to 'obvious' conclusions that seem like they just came out of nowhere. It was like the author just kept telling us that 'oh here is this random item or situation so clearly it must be like this' without any intermediate steps, and most of the time they never would've even escaped the door if the ML or MC hadn't ~somehow~ stumbled on a key item or hint.
There is also a ridiculous amount of plot armor for the main characters, which i could suspend disbelief for, if the rest of the story wasn't also written in this hand-wavy style of 'anyway so this is how they solved the problem' and 'anyway so this is how they got out the door'. The world of the doors is never clearly explained or given any more meaningful treatment than if they were levels in some random video game, and the climax felt like a poor attempt at bringing it all together but just ended up with basically 'then so-and-so many days passed and they survived'.
The characters were not very fleshed-out*, especially the MC who seemed like he was only given basic traits like 'exceptionally calm' and 'cat-lover' - and even the cat-lover part was forgotten for most of the story and feels like when you make an OC and give them random traits that are only ever mentioned in the character sheet... The way the leads got together felt abrupt and superficial, and after that it's like no other characters mattered, which i suppose is a romance trope of its own, but when you apply it to shallowly-written characters like this, it just feels forced.
*) My biggest gripe was the author deciding to put key plot twists about the main characters in the first extra chapter after the ending (like ?!?!?), that changed the whole perspective of the story but didn't actually add anything of value to the plot itself and just makes everything more convoluted and plain worse if you think about it. The side characters who were actually interesting were either used as plot devices or plain forgotten about. And the ML who starts off relatively interesting in comparison to the others, is practically reduced to a caricature of himself by the end.
Anyway. Sorry this got so long i really had to rant about KOD to get it out of my system. Basically GE did everything that KOD tried to do but wayyyy better, and if you're looking for a well-written infinite flow novel with an ingenious plot and well-written characters with outstanding chemistry, look no further than Global Examination!!

Popular danmei books I ditched due to ➡️personal⬅️ tastes:
(Been a while since I attempted reading these, so if there are minor inaccuracies below, that’s why.)
• First-Class Lawyer/Yi Ji Lǚ Shi 一级律师 by Mu Su Li: the trials in the book are not bound by the laws of our real-world countries, and that’s fine, but I doubt that any fair legal system will allow major surprise evidence/arguments to be sprung on a party during the trial. To address each side’s reasoning properly during the trial, parties have to receive and get to know each other’s general arguments before the trial. How can you prepare a proper defence if you don’t understand the reasons and evidence behind the accusation? How can the prosecution deal with the defendant’s counter-arguments if they don’t know what they are until the last minute? Furthermore, evidence has to be submitted for approval by the court before the trial to filter out irrelevant, bias-inducing evidence.
—From what I remember from my law course, that’s roughly how it works in the U.K., and I think that’s a fair way of doing things so I’d bet most civilised societies do that. The surprise-evidence plot twist smelled too illegal to me, so I was put off from reading the rest of the book.
• Priest’s books:
1. Sha Po Lang 杀破狼: stories with ancient yet non-xianxia/wuxia settings tend to bore me. Ancient yet non-xianxia/wuxia means the plot likely revolves around politicking and sometimes war, which I don’t like when they come in large (and male-dominated) spades because they’re too dry for me.
2 & 3. Tian Ya Ke 天涯客, Liu Yao 六爻: I love xianxia and wuxia so I thought I’d love these, but I just couldn’t keep reading far enough. Things were happening, but they weren’t riveting. I couldn’t get attached to the characters.
4. Zhen Hun 镇魂: I couldn’t get into it, partly because “modern + superpowers” isn’t a setting I usually like. (I do like it if it comes with a generous serving of humour, like in Depressed Husbands Want to Live a Peaceful Life by Green Wings.) Things were happening, but they weren’t riveting.
5. Mo Du 默读: part of the reason why I couldn’t get into it is because it’s a police story. Strangely, I love mysteries but not danmei police investigation novels, though I hope I’ll come to like them one day. (But I like police investigation fics! I guess I need to feel an attachment to characters first before they get involved in policing.)
• Criminal Psychology/Fan Zui Xin Li 犯罪心理 by Chang Er: it’s a police story, so the same reason as the one for Mo Du applies
• Qiang Jin Jiu 将进酒 by Tang Jiu Qing: same reason as Sha Po Lang
• Golden Stage/Huang Jin Tai 黄金台 by Cang Wu Bin Bai: same reason as Sha Po Lang
• Thousand Autumns/Qian Qiu 千秋 by Meng Xi Shi: I found the protagonist, romantic relationship, and events (as far as I managed to read them) bland
• Little Mushroom/Xiao Mo Gu 小蘑菇 by Yi Shi Si Zhou: interesting setting, but there are three things preventing me from liking the book:
1. I usually don’t like danmei books that are wholly set in a futuristic dystopia. I don’t read danmei to enjoy imagining a world/society that’s similar to ours but more oppressive/painful.
2. The protagonist’s personality is too mild for me, and the love interest’s personality isn’t a type I like either.
3. Female suffering. I can’t forget that part of the book because it’s so realistic (kudos to the author), it feels like shit that would actually happen if our world were to face those conditions. Good for the story, but I read danmei to feel semi-free from gender inequality, so it’s not great for me personally.
• Tong Qian Kan Shi 铜钱龛世 by Mu Su Li: the plot and characters weren’t attractive enough
• Supernatural Movie Actor App 灵异片演员app by Xi Zi Ji Jiu: the horror wasn’t horrifying enough and the protagonist tried too hard to seem impressive
• Qi Zi 契子 by Yi Xiu Luo: the systemic inequality within spousal relationships in the book is too huge and oppressive for me to enjoy the story
• Ru Xi 入戏 by Tong Zi/Zhe Yi Mei Zhen: racist, and based on the part I read, it looks like it’s on track to treat its female characters badly too
• Welcome to the Nightmare Livestream 欢迎进入梦魇直播间 by Sang Wo: 1) it feels too game-like and unrealistic (some books, but not this one, have fantasy settings that feel viable, like they could actually exist); 2) I’m not attached to the protagonist, and 3) there is very little interaction between the protagonist and love interest.
• Pan Guan 判官 by Mu Su Li: I wasn’t attached to the characters
• Quan Qiu Gao Kao 全球高考 by Mu Su Li: I wasn’t attached to the characters
*
Danmei books that fit my tastes:
