DAY 5798
Jalsa, Mumbai Jan 1/2, 2024 Mon/Tue 12:20 AM
🪔 ,
January 02 .. birthday wishes to Ef Smita Buch .. Ef Nita Menon .. Ef Mohammad Amin Sarwar from Faisalabad, Pakistan 🇵🇰 .. and Ef Minie Manal from Russia 🇷🇺 .. love and affection .. 🙏🏻🚩
The hand goes in repetition to the 12 and '23 .. and then you realise it's done .. it is now 1 and 1 and '24 ..
It was the 31 st that was intriguing .. last DAY of the week , last day of the month , last day day of the year 🥹 .. pretty darn cool .. naaah !! .. too Gen Z colloquial .. errmm .. "it was rather coincidental" .. hmm .. better .. !
😁
So the year endeth as does the 23 to 24 .. bringing as is often expressed , a better year .. blessed and hope filled with achievement and prosperity ..
But they all say that at the end of the year .. always .. and then the year takes over and performs according to its willing .. to be assessed when it shifts from 24 to 25 .. and on ....
The celebrations on the turn of the tide remained quiet, sombre and mostly on solitudinous thought .. no reflections on what went by .. it never does bring any reflect .. and the memory simply fails to bring those visuals alive .. indeed the memory fails to bring many of the past, alive .. moments , names , incidents , details and places - there at the tip of your tongue, but ailing, yes ailing, not failing, to form those magical words ..
🙃
words that were readily available at the drop of the 'proverbial hat' ..
'proverbial hat ..' ?
where on earth did this expression come from ..
AAAAHHHH .. found out ..
'The phrase “at the drop of a hat” originated sometime in the early 19th century when it was common for people to signal the start of a fight or a race by literally dropping a hat or waving it down through the air.
This signal would prompt the participants to start fighting or running immediately. As years passed, the phrase took on a broader meaning and became associated with almost any activity done without a second thought.'
hmmm .. nothing very bright or original ..
but the GOJ is ever original and filled with the love of the well wishers and a joy as ever to be in their midst every Sunday .. and the consideration for having the drinking water available , ad also the fans that sprinkle a thin layer of the acqua into the audience just to keep them cool and comfortable ..
some complained that they were positioned right in front of them so they could not see, so had pedestals made for them and hope that the well wishers are adapting to this immediate request of theirs ..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
see the fans on either sides of the gate .. ?
🕺
... the namaste .. hmm .. the little finger still struggling to straighten out after the surgery .. well .. most of the hand is struggling .. its strength not back to normal .. holding writing with pen and several other deeds that hands are involved in , are in limbo ..
The medical says it normally takes 5-6 months .. !
The hand .. the most complicated machinery on the human body .. serviced by several nerves .. in fact three of the fingers serviced by one particular nerve .. one and half finger serviced by another .. and the remaining by another ..
amaze .. !!
I often ask the medical professionalists how and what they feel when they - who are privileged to have access to the workings of most of the elements in the body - feel, at the complexities of our human system and its working ..
And they seem perplexed that we should seek such information .. for, for them, it is the education, medical degrees address .. much as the grammar equations they teach at English language classes or the attaining of degrees in their education .. the adjective the adverb the consonance et al .. frightening moments for me .. never could understand these delicacies of the language and still do not .. much of the reason I rejected BA English and took up BSc .. but then those 'delicacies' were equally non understandable !!!! 😳
see ya .. and love ❤️

i can’t respond to your posts but thank you olanzapine was the other i kept trying to think of! i was like “it sounds similar to clozapine” but i couldn’t remember. olanzapine is what made me finally start refusing them altogether. i had had enough of about 20 different APs over 15 years, being called uncooperative and diagnosed with PDs i did not have on top of schizophrenia as reasoning for why i was so “uncooperative”. i had a BSc in psychology and i loathe this term. i think it’s a terrible term and psychology frequently takes little interest in the reasoning.
my history is pretty bad as well, i’ve been in the hospital a lot, and at one point they wanted to put me long term in a hospital for six months. i’ve been in the psychiatric system since i was 12, so i relate and feel you, even if it wasn’t schizophrenia.
so sorry for your olanzapine experience. that stuff made me feel awful.
My replies are limited to people who have followed me for a week or more, so that might be why! But thank you for your sympathy and solidarity. I am sorry you've had to go through similar struggles ❤️

I don’t think we talk enough of what happened to people in their late 20s and early 30s during Covid.
You had just graduated and entered the workforce a few years back. Started building your career, taking steps up on those ladders. You had maybe moved in with a spouse a few years back.
Suddenly, everything changed. You were locked in with the spouse. Or perhaps you missed out on your golden years of finding a spouse. Work changed. Suddenly everything was Gen Z this and that. You were suddenly too old for the specialist level and way too uncool as per your year of birth, and too young for management and exec level. You were supposed to have children, but the spouse left during the lockdown, or you didn't find anyone because of the said lockdown.
And now you're this person with a strange period in your CV when you've been stuck. It doesn't matter if you took courses in Yale, Harvard, or Cambrigde to boost your knowledge. Your still the one who got stuck during Covid.
I literally have BBA, BSc, MBA, MSc, diploma in information technology, and a degree worth of courses from universities like Yale, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins, and can't get a job anymore because they either go to Gen Z just graduating or Boomers in the end of their career, and my doctor keeps asking me if I'm pregnant soon while my fiancee left after lockdown to run away with a younger girl.

20 Questions Game
Thanks for the tag, @wrathofthestag!
How many works do you have on AO3?
51
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
577,841
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Check, Please!, which is also the only fandom I have fics for on ao3, but I've also written for Parks and Recreation and The Baby-Sitters Club. And I have a Black Widow WIP that I started writing for a friend and haven't found a way back to.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
All I Want is You Just Jack Here Comes the Sun  I Only Have Pies for You And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always try to respond to comments, but sometimes some slip through the cracks.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Regular readers of my fic know don't do unhappy endings, but I'll say With Extra Chocolate Chips because while it's a soft, fluffy fic, the problem that exists at the beginning hasn't been resolved by the end.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of my endings are happy, lol. But I'll say And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here? because it has three happy endings. (Bitty deserves all the happy endings.)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
If people hate my fic, they have fortunately kept it to themselves.
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?
I'm so bad at writing smut. Maybe I've written some things that are smut adjacent, but most of it is awkward and/or humorous with a lot of talking and laughter.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've never written a crossover.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Years ago, between my kids being born (so...2004?), I cowrote a BSC "Super Special" fic with a bunch of people I met in the BSC thread on the old Fametracker forums. I wrote a couple of the Dawn chapters.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
It's definitely a tie between Jack and Bitty from Check, Please! and Leslie and Ben from Parks and Rec.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Longtime followers might remember my AU where Bitty and Jack meet later in life, when their daughters are college roommates. I started writing it months before I even posted anything for this fandom. And I just haven't been able to figure it out. Part of it is that it's so complex, with two original characters (the daughters) and four different POVs. I haven't quite figured out where I want one daughter's plot to go. I've since written a fic with a similar concept (Bitty and Jack never kiss, reunite years later when they both have teenage daughters), but it's still very different from this WIP. I'd like to say I'll eventually finish it but at this point who knows.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, probably.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Any type of description, particularly how things move or work, which is probably why I have such a hard time writing smut.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
If it works for the fic, sure, though I'm only fluent in English so it's unlikely I would ever do it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
When I was 7, I read all of Beverly Cleary's Ramona books and was distraught that I couldn't find out what happened next. My dad told me to write my own Ramona book so I did. I think I wrote one chapter before abandoning it because I'd discovered Judy Blume's books.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
This is such a tough call, but right now it might be And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here? because it has a good blend of fluff and angst, three happy endings, a wild premise that still managed to be (as of its writing) canon compliant, and one of my absolute favorite scenes that I've ever written. Writing it was such a good time, and I miss when my words flowed that easily.
Tagging @cricketnationrise, @sweatersinthesummer, @the-lincyclopedia, @anyawen, @montrealmadison, @ohyoufool, and whoever else wants to share!

the Anglo-Celtic Isles as song’s from Maisie Peter’s “the Good Witch”
(With little to no explanation) (featuring OCs)
THE GOOD WITCH: WALES
“When all I do is think about the past, and haunt a house nobody lives in, you wanna hear about it all, where do I start? Well, I guess when it kicks in.”
COMING OF AGE: IRELAND
“I wish I would’ve seen it sooner, why did it take me ages to say it? I wasn’t your cliché, no, this is my coming of age!”
WATCH: SCOTLAND
“You’re so bad (so bad!), you look better (what the fuck?) I fought it but I saw it and it sawed me right in half. You still get to me, but I still let you (yes I do!) you’re being a superstar and all I’ve got are victim cards and you’ve got every single thing you want, and I just watch.”
BODY BETTER: NORTHERN IRELAND
“Then I, I can’t help thinking that she’s got a better body, has she got a body better than mine? And I, I can help thinking when you touched it were you sorry, were you sorry like weren’t at the time? Loving you was easy, that’s why it hurts now, the worst way to love somebody’s to watch them love somebody else and it work out, now, I can’t help thinking that she’s got a better body, has she got a body better than mine?”
WANT YOU BACK: NORTHERN IRELAND
“So I know, that you did bad, but if one more person says it I might go mad. Yeah I know, it didn’t last, and what was cheap to you to me was all I had. The issue is, I know all of this and I, I still want you back.”
THE BAND AND I: ENGLAND
“It was Friday nights, it was video gold, oh it was shining lights, it was rock and roll. It was the band and I, on a 12 bed bus, it was making and messing it up! It was endless roads, in the same old boots, oh it was letting go of everything but you. It was the band and I, on a 12 bed bus, if we’re living the dream, I hope we never wake up.”
YOU’RE JUST A BOY (AND I’M KINDA THE MAN): CORNWALL
“I’m on a one-way trip to take over the world, you could’ve come but your head’s in the sand, what’s a girl gonna do when she’s in love with you, but you’re just a boy and I’m kinda the man. I’m on a one-way trip to take over the world, you could’ve come, babe, I held out my hand. Yeah it’s sad and it’s true, and I’m in love with you, but you’re just a boy and I’m kinda the man!”
LOST THE BREAKUP: IRELAND
“I know I’m obsessed and right now I might be a mess, but one day you’re gonna wake up, and OH SHIT! You lost the breakup. I’ll smile and you’ll have to face it, I’m the greatest love that you wasted, but by then I’ll be far away, and OH SHIT! You lost the breakup!”
WENDY: WALES
“You could take me to neverland, baby, we could live off of magic and maybes, but I know the girl that you want and it scares me, behind every lost boy there’s always a Wendy. So I’ll lock the windows and turn on the AC, you’ll throw your rocks and you’ll scream that you hate me, but it gets old being forever 20, and what about my wings? What about Wendy?”
RUN: SCOTLAND
“If a man says that he wants you in his life forever (run!) if he calls you up says he’s so in love and it’s been one week you better (run!) if your heart says broke and your friends say “don’t” it’s an r.i.p you better (run!) as fast as you can, take a quick sharp turn at the side of the man and make it done! If a man says that he wants you in his life forever, (run!)”
TWO WEEKS AGO: NORTHUMBRIA
“You were driving fast, I was holding back and I loved you babe but I bet you knew that. The song was true and the sky was black, god, I wish it was two weeks ago. When you said we’re like your mum and dad, knew you loved me babe, when you told me that, and the song was true and the sky was black, god, I wish it was two weeks ago.”
BSC: CORNWALL
“Broke me big time, it’s funny and im laughing baby, you think im alright, but im actually bloody motherfucking batshit crazy!”
THERAPY: IRELAND
“Now you’re gone, honey I can’t sleep, I’m just talking to your memory. I still love you, but you’re taking me from your arms back to therapy, therapy, oh Lord, I’m going back to therapy, therapy. You swore it’s somewhere I would never be, so how come you’re taking me from your arms back to therapy?”
THERE IT GOES: SCOTLAND
“The love we had was covered in snow, I had to let it go. The love we had was eating me whole, I had to send it home. Oh there it was, heaven knows, there it was, now there it goes.”
HISTORY OF MAN: NORTHUMBRIA
“I’ve seen it in the poems and the sands, I’ve pleaded with the powers and their plans, I’ve tried to rewrite it but I can’t, it’s the history of man. She stays up, he’s sleeping like a lamb, she begs him, he says he doesn’t understand, she loves him more than anyone ever has in the history, the history of man.”

30 is just the beginning
I've recently seen a few people lamenting turning 30. I guess it hits differently when you're told at 29 that you're unlikely to live to see 31, but gazing back at that time from where I sit in my mid-40s I'm struck by the sheer amount of shit I've accomplished since 30. I'm sure conquering death had something to do with lighting a fire under my ass, but seriously, you can achieve SO much more than you ever thought possible.
I started compiling this list for myself and I'm choosing to share it now, not as a "look what I've done!" bragging exercise, but as a way to remind myself that I'm capable of doing epic shit.
And that we are ALL capable of change, growth, and adventure no matter what our age. Your thirties don't have to be about settling down or settling for.
In my 20s, I:
Studied abroad
Eurorailed around Europe for 6 weeks
Survived meningitis (the first time)
Graduated with an Hon BSc
Moved to a different country
Met my bestie
Started my dream job
Started running
Started sewing
Was on the front page of the New York Times
Had my first boyfriends (got dumped by one checking himself into a mental hospital in another country)
Got paid to work backstage at Glastonbury several times
Went to literally thousands of gigs
Met/interviewed Trent Reznor
Met my future husband
Bought a home
Got a cat
Lost 50+ pounds
Started a pension
Became seriously ill and was told I had months to live unless I underwent a risky procedure
Froze embryos
In my 30s, I:
Was saved from certain death by medical science (chemo ain't so bad)
Grew a new blood type
Survived meningitis, shingles, swine flu, and a constant stream of flu
Had all my childhood vaccinations… again.
Married my husband
Appeared on a BBC cooking show
Joined a running crew
Started my own business
Worked behind-the-scenes on a popular tv show
Had laser eye surgery
Wrote my first book
Ran my first half marathon (& then countless others)
Ran my first marathon (& then 7 more including 3 Boston Qualifiers)
Ran an accidental ultra in Transylvania
Had my face on a billboard and in a bunch of banks
Became undefeated GB & world champion on the track (multiple times - 16 golds for GB)
Cycled my first century (& then 2 more)
Started a pension
Started therapy
Started regular meditation
In my 40s, I:
Finished a 15 year home renovation
Shielded (couldn’t leave home) for 14 months in the pandemic
Having the best sex of my life
Broke 2 more world records and retained my world champion status on the track
Mourned a father & grandfather
Started swimming lessons for the first time since childhood
Received my first ever bonus check
Completed my first multisport race
…7 more years to go??
Frankly, I can't wait to see what my 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s have in store if my first 40-odd years have been so endlessly interesting. Happy birthday.
(Each of these is absolutely true, btw, and I'm happy to clarify/expand on these if you want to ask in the comments or using the Ask Me on my page)

[Background: I have a rather atypical life. It could partially be because of where I am and partially for my loop. I started really well, was a good student and my teachers thought I was going to have a bright future.
During late teen years I found out the name of what I was dealing with, which had to do with being LGBT. I became depressed and reserved, but couldn't tell anyone about it, not even my family. So I kept it to myself and planned to immigrate one day.
I kind of ended up studying the 2nd thing my family wanted for me, but I resented it. My family told me to graduate and then do what I want. I was in my mid-20s when I graduated, and I was unemployed and lost. I studied hard and got accepted to a reputable grad school. I wanted to use that opportunity to build my CV.
A family member had promised (several times) to pay for my housing in case I got accepted to a good uni, but right when I told them about my acceptance, they pulled the rug under me and got what they had said back without any reason. So I ended up not going due to money issues.]
The main part : I'm now in my late 20s, and I feel even more lost. I compare myself with people my age from around the world and even my own past, and I feel behind in life.
I'm stuck in this Ni-Ti (or Ti-Si?) loop. I still haven't "moved out" to a more liberal part of the world, haven't begun my "process", and the depression caused by it, the pressure to keep all of it inside, and my inability to find my way out are killing me. It's like everytime I try to fix my situation, I fail and get back to stage one
I guess the logical thing is to have a fresh start, study something reasonable in my own town, get a BSc degree in it and try for an internship position while studying, in order to gain work experience, build my CV and then leave.
But I just don't have the energy to do it. I'm already stuck in my Ni-Ti loop. It's paradoxical, like a negative cycle or a dead-end. I know I have to let go of my internal state and work hard, in order to reach my goal, but I lack the energy, hope and internal strength to do it. And besides, what if I fail?
Everyday, I mourn for my lost youth, and I think it's already too late for me now, let alone after 4-5 years or more. I would be in my early to mid 30s by then, and even thinking about it makes me hopeless, anxious and suicidal. If the things in my past hadn't happened, I would be where I wanted to be right now, and I keep thinking about that (Ni loop of tunnel vision?).
I'm really tired of being repressed and closeted, not being able to explain my pain, appear like myself, choose my outfit, etc. And my future is ambiguous, which makes things even harder for me to deal with. I can't really talk about my "condition" with anyone in my life, and I feel too shy to trust and confess that to a therapist or ask for help in real life.
My question: How can I get out of this Ni-Ti loop/cycle and have a healthy life? I read a lot of self help books, but they don't seem to work. How can I stop feeling behind in life compared to people my age or even younger?
------------------------
As explained in the study guides, getting out of Ni-Ti loop requires healthy dominant Ni functioning and developing healthy auxiliary Fe functioning.
Your Ni difficulties involve not having a good direction. This began with you not making the best decision with regard to your schooling and career; this likely continues because your idea of what your career should look like is too rigid or naive. Job and career aren't the same thing. It is possible to be happy without a career and career is only as important as you make it to be. Nowadays, it is quite common for people to explore many different career paths throughout life. Yet, you beat yourself up for it and, gradually, fear of failure infects your entire mindset, which is counterproductive and a waste of energy. As long as you devote energy to the negativity of guilt or regret, that energy isn't going to be available for positive efforts. Life isn't and shouldn't be a straight line and the sooner you understand and accept this reality, the more energy you will free up for positive growth.
Your Fe difficulties involve not having enough social support. You cannot avoid suffering in life, but good social support can help ease it. There is reason for you to keep this secret of yours, but remember that secrets eat you up inside. It is a self-destructive choice. Staying in the closet is harmful to mental health for a variety of reasons.
It isn't either/or; there is a healthy middle ground between complete silence and loudly proclaiming your identity in the streets. Of course, depending on where one lives, one has to exercise enough care and caution in exposing oneself. Remember that it doesn't matter where you live, every place has its fair share of good and bad people, and sexual minorities exist and have always existed among the majority population. There are always kindred spirits and sympathetic allies around, even if they can only be found online at first. Communicating with people online is sometimes the safer way and better than having no social support at all. An important part of being a healthy N is opening the mind to possibility.
If you care about your mental health and well-being, you should put out the effort to find some kind of social support. Bearing such suffering alone isn't a sustainable strategy, and it's especially unhealthy when it interferes with type development and keeps you trapped in harmful tertiary loop patterns.
Your Fe development issues are very understandable because of lack of social support, but they go far deeper than that in the way you rely on social comparison to measure yourself. This is an immature and maladaptive thought pattern that needs to be changed. Do you understand that every person is an individual and has their own path in life? Do you understand that your social comparisons are wrongheaded because you're comparing yourself against what you merely superficially see of others? Are you a mindreader? You don't know what other people are really thinking, feeling, or going through behind closed doors. And how they live is irrelevant to you and how you should live your life, that is, if you ever hope to become a truly independent adult.
You want social validation/acceptance, which is legitimate, but contorting yourself into a false image isn't the healthy way to achieve it. In fact, the start of the career problem came when you didn't decide according to your own needs but to meet the expectations of your family. Until you learn to put your own needs in perspective and prioritize them properly, you won't find your direction, and this will make it difficult to have healthy Ni.

Best BS Animations Tournament Masterpost
I will be pinning this list on this blog. I have left out a few animations, because I feel they weren’t worthwhile enough to count as one. My criteria was “Is it animated” and a slightly stricter one “Does it add anything new”.
I have now created the match-ups. If anyone has any animations that I have missed and thinks it should be in the tournament, I am open to suggestions up until round one is officially over.
Send a dm, ask, or any other way you wish to contact me on tumblr. :)
I have paired up animations that have enough in common, have the same tone, or is implied to take place as a direct sequel/correlation. If one of the paired up ones is the winner, I will then pit those two against each other.
So... Here are the current entries!
Edit: Darryl's Barrels is OUT. I added Rosa’s Debut in lieu of it. Credit to @wheatleylabs010 for the reminder.
