Iron Man & Captain America: Heroes United (2014)

My rating: 4/10

I have no idea why they would make a sequel to that crappy Iron Man & Hulk movie, but they did, and while it is marginally better than its predecessor (mostly, I think, because it has a better villain - Nazi punching will just always be superior to some generic energy being of the week), it still has much the same issues and just isn't very good.

i love you tmnt 2012 but i shall forever be annoyed that through the entire run of the show we never got a mikey and splinter moment. i know that in almost every iteration, mikey has always been the least close with his father, but watching the 2012 show it makes me mad that we got moments of each of the boys where splinter implements some wisdom to his sons and develops his relationship with them, but never does he have that moment with mikey. and obviously i know that this version of the show is like… not the best when it came to their treatment of mikey. but coming off the space arc in season 4 it feels like such a let down to have mikey have these really stellar moments of growth only once they get back to ny it feels pretty wasted. i think the only mikey and splinter moment that i can remember was way back in the beginning of season 2 with ‘mikey gets shellacne’ and even that is so brief. like literally two lines of splinter being like “hey don’t underestimate yourself. okay im done here now”

oh and when mikey and donnie rescue him and he hugs mikey. that’s it lmfao.

and like… don’t get me wrong, the ‘papa’ moment when splinter dies will FOREVER be painful but i so wish they’d actually developed an actual relationship between the two to make it feel more realistic cos otherwise im like “oh yeah that’s his dad technically lol i guess i forgot because they’ve barely said two words to each other the last four seasons”

anywho i guess that’s what fic is for lol. amen to that

The Mutant Apocalypse is the ending of the Series due to it's production order.

The Big Blowout is the series finally due to it's Air Date.

I personally see Season 5 mostly canon expect the The Mutant Apocalypse.

Nickelodeon's Failure on TMNT

You wanna know what's bullshit?

The Crew themselves seem disappointed that the Series ended like that.

But Nickeloden said "Hey, let's make ROTTMNT WHILE TMNT2012..what can go wrong?".

What has gone wrong:

TMNT 2012 had no real ending and the ending it got is disappointment.

ROTTMNT failed because it was rushed and barley promoted because it came too soon.

TMNT 2012 & ROTTMNT fans hate Nickelodeon for messing up TMNT.

And the worst part:

BOTH 2012 & ROTTMNT had A LOT leftovers, scrapings and more.

Yes, TMNT 2012 could have had a 6th Season, the Crew didn't said no...Nickeloden didn't wanted another Season.

What's left: Many characters still alive but with plot-holes like Fugitoid or the Squirrelanoids.

Not only that but while researching I found an Interview from 2019 where Ciro Nieli told an idea for a "spin-off" of TMNT 2012 INSPIRED from the ROTTMNT Movie with the only problem being Nickeloden.

ROTTMNT being cancelled, had too many stuff scrapped Episodes and the Movie was dragged for 2 years because of Nickelodeon and also failed terrible in the toy market due to low promotion.

Fans are left with 2 seasons and just some extras on YT.

I hate to say it..but it seems TMNT TV cartoons have reached their end, Nickeloden still owns TMNT and they messed the last two up by not planning, cancelling and more.

The Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes & X-Men Evolution series watch

Starting of with EMH Episode 1

Iron Man Is Born written by Brandon Auman

So the series starts with Tony Stark already established as Iron Man. The story doesn't get delve into Tony's backstory only that he was weapons developer but no longer is and now is Iron Man fights crime. Giants robots have been attacking majors cities and they are revealed to be made by Hydra using Stark tech. During Iron Man battle with one of the giant robots Nick Fury SHIELD intervene and try to convince Tony Stark to stop being Iron Man and go back to developing weapons. It's reveal they have use tech that Tony has previously sold to them to make "Mandroids" This almost starts a fight because Tony because upset that shield is appropriating his tech this way and he makes a point how Hydra is using the exact same tech SHIELD is Fury lets Tony walk because this means there's been a leak and that takes priority.

Last part of the episode focuses on SHIELD taken in the Hydra agents from the robot fight into custody into one of the super prison. It turns out is was a setup as Hydra member Grim Reaper attempts to breakout Hydra Baron Stucker. He pretty terrifying sucks the life out someone presumably killing them. Strucker and Grim nearly escapes but are stopped and taken back in to prison by Nick Fury.

So this episode is a lot of set-up with Tony Stark as a character, SHIELD and the overarching Hydra. Tony here is clearly heavily modeled after RDJ from, both in attitude and appearance. What interesting is this version it's SHIELD directly that does want Tony being Iron Man as they feel he is more of use to them if he continued building weapons. It's clear Fury feels it should be SHIELD facing the growing threats of monsters, super villains and other threats and not super heroes.

Nick Fury: We need Tony Stark more than some armored vigilante. You can't do this alone. You're only one man!

Tony: One of me is more than enough.

The fight scenes and storyboards are all really well done. It is mostly action based for this episode But it still does a pretty good job as setting up the characters. Tony very quickly establishing as his arrogant but well intentioned self. His conflict that he is clearly going to have with Fury. Pepper and Rhodey friendship and concern for Tony. It all good stuff.

Also say it here and now that stupid theme song is going to stuck in my head for the next month.

Next with X-Men Evolution episode 1

Strategy X Written by Bob Forward, Avi Arad and Rick Ungar

At a high school football game we're interduce to high school students Scott Summers and Jean Grey. Scot sees delinquent Toad pick pocketing people in the crowd and when he catches up to him Toad he is about to be beat up by some of the football players. Scott tries to intervene and get the players to let Toad go but there's a scuffle and Scott's glasses get knocked off and his eye beams ended up hitting a propane tank and causing explosion. Police come in to investigate but Xavier is able to use is powers to compel them from looking to into it. Next day Storm and Xavier pick up a new student at the train station. Toad has a meeting with the school principal has she's pieced together that Scott and wants Toad to recruit Scott and find Xavier Institute. Xavier interduces the new student to Scott and Jean. It's Nightcrawler, they show him around the mansion and give him a hologram watch so he can blend in and go to the local school. Later that day Toad reveals to Scott that he's a mutant and that he figured out that so is Scott and suggest getting to know each other better. Scott tells Xavier about Toad, Xavier says he just found about toad through Cerebro and that that maybe that Toad could also join them.

Later that night Toad has found the mansion there ends up being a confrontation, Toad and Night Crawler fight a bit end up in the danger room end up setting it off and almost get killed. They get out fine, Wolverine shows up scares off toad, Xaviar decides he's not suited to be a X-men right now. Toad gets chewed out by the principal and for failing to recruit and Scott and also apparently Xaviar erased Toad memories of where the mansion was so he can't find it again. The principal is revealed to be Mistique and that the one person who she's talking orders from is Magento.

This show is already aggressively as 00's as I remember

So contrast to EMH Evolution is far less action focused and more about setting up the premise introducing the characters and their powers. It establishes that Wolverine is already part of the group and considers the place. But out of all the characters Scott probably get the strongest characterization in the first episode as he shown to be a do gooder and someone who is against bullying even when the target is a less the virtuous person. Kurt is really cute in this as his perky personality is on full display. They do a good job at making all the characters likeable and I'm ready to watch more.

The animation in this series is nice. It's very good with character expressions and it's good at angles and framing shots to look interesting. The action scene is okay, it's more there to show off what each character can do then it is to be a dynamic.

So as far as the first episode of both goes I'd say there both and enjoyable and easy watch I would recommend

Star Wars: Clone Wars "Chapter 19"

Having been defeated atop the ancient Massassi temples of Yavin 4 by Anakin Skywalker, Asajj Ventress fell into a seemingly bottomless gorge. While falls are notoriously survivable for the force uses of the galaxy far far away this could have been the assassins ignominious end.

Star Wars: Republic 71

Asajj Ventress stumbles upon Anakin Skywalker as he receives a message from his wife, goading him into a Duel in the Coruscant Underlevels. After inflicting his eye scar Asajj Ventress is crushed and electrocuted by Anakin Skywalker before falling into the depths of Coruscant.

Star Wars: Obsession 5

Having failed Dooku for the last time Asajj Ventress is shot and wounded by a MagnaGuard. She then attempts to stab Obi-Wan Kenobi with a piece of shrapnel when he attempts to save her and is stopped by a slash of Anakin’s Lightsaber. Asajj Ventress finally dies in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s arms...

... for all of 1 page. Some sort of executive meddling probably was responsible for this epilogue, the final appearance of Asajj Ventress in the Legends continuity.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Dark Disciple 

Part of the The Clone Wars Legacy project Dark Disciple is a novel based on a series of scripts from unfinished episodes of The Clone Wars wherein according to Wookiepedia:

Quinlan Vos (her lover) planned to rescue Dooku only to be led to Darth Sidious and kill both Sith, but that plan failed when Vos, Dooku, and Ventress crashed on Christophsis. Pursued by the Jedi, Dooku learned of Vos' plan and tried to kill him with Force lightning, but Ventress stood in the way and saved Quinlan's life, at the cost of her own. After Dooku escaped, Ventress' sacrifice helped Vos break the dark side's grip on him completely.

Ventress, now once again on the light side of the Force, died in Vos' arms.

Star Wars Resistance

According to Star Wars Resistance executive producer/head writer Brandon Auman, the Disney animated series very nearly featured a battle between the villainous Kylo Ren and fan-favorite Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Asajj Ventress.

Considering the Sequel Trilogy’s habit of killing of Original Trilogy protagonists to build up Kylo Ren, and his obsession with killing beings his grandfather could not it seems likely he would murder the then ~84 year old Asajj Ventress.

so by contrast, who was the writer of one of your lower-rated episodes of 2012?

i’ll be honest… finding just one episode to focus on was hard. i tried my damnedest to find one that i didn’t hate the concept of—i just thought the overall writing and pacing wasn’t well done.

The Kraang Conspiracy - Brandon Auman

i’m gonna talk about why it bugged me and what i would have done differently that would have still given the show the development it needed (i.e. the whole point of this episode is so the turtles and april learn she’s part kraang and a mutant).

firstly, why it bugged me: pacing.

the episode starts with the turtles being stalked by someone while doing they're doing warmups. after realizing they’re being watched, they go after the stalker and track him back to his place where they meet Kurtzman and learn he’s been tracking and gathering evidence of the kraang’s plans. the kraang attack, the turtles fight, and after successfully getting away, they decide to listen to Kurtzman.

it’s not a bad premise to give a character a role like this, but this is Kurtzman’s debut episode and he was used as a way to infodump, rather than letting both the characters and audience pick up on all this through small scenes and clues. and like, i remember seeing some small scenes that were clueing the audience in to this april-mutant twist. this felt like a cheap way to conveniently clue the turtles in. and an even cheaper way to introduce the “april’s mom” angle. how does Kurtzman even know about that??

so the turtles head to the thought-to-be-destroyed TCRI building, which has mysteriously been rebuilt. they head inside, and discover… basically everything Kurtzman told them. that april is the key to the kraang plot. except they don’t really have much evidence? they just learn the kraang have clones of april, and that april can push anyone away with a strong enough headache.

so having a new character introduced to infodump all this and then having the turtles discover and confirm all he said seems really… repetitive. it made the episode feel both drawn out, and way too fast paced. at the same time. some people might consider that clever. i consider it… hard to watch.

you could try cutting out Kurtzman to give it more mystery and let the turtles discover this for themselves, but the things that happen in TCRI don’t convey the same information that Kurtzman straight up tells them. it’s in a weird place where the episode makes no sense without Kurtzman, but it’s way too much information to learn with him.

the other thing that bugs me is the way they conveyed this information. i.e. a bunch of april clones that pop when hit once. and a giant deformed clone to fight. a clone that is written as a gag. you could have done something badass and cool with this. we could have had a cool fight scene. instead we get derp april bouncing mikey against her (for some reason squishy???) grotesque hip. without Kurtzman, it just seems like the Kraang have a creepy obsession with april - which, we already knew??

and then, AFTER ALL OF THAT, donnie finally just looks at april’s blood and discovers she’s a human-kraang mutant. that was the entire point of the episode.

i think it would have been better if all this wasn’t sprung on the audience in one episode. the audience and turtles both know april is tied to the kraang somehow. Kurtzman shouldn’t have had to come in, conveniently drop all this information that makes no sense for him to know, and then peace out until the plot calls for him again.

it’s almost as if it’s written in a way where it doesn’t believe the audience could have picked up on all those moments before and wants to shoehorn this information in the audience’s face. or it was made for a newer, not-quite-caught-up-to-everything audience.

now, like… i get studios sometimes don’t give you a lot of time or you only have one episode to work with or whatever. part of this isn’t an episode issue—if you have to put all this into one episode to get onto the next episode that already has this established information, that’s a lack of pacing for the overall series.

En una entrevista con “Breakfast With Kenobi”, los productores Justin Ridge y Brandon Auman confirmaron que ambos llevaban un feliz matrimonio. "Creo que no es arriesgado decir que tienen una relación", señaló el primero. Y el segundo añadió: "Son una pareja gay, desde luego, y estamos orgullosos de ello. Amamos a Flix y Orka".

Bobby Moynihan, el actor de voz de Orka, agregó luego "Estoy muy contento de que nos permitan decirlo", afirmó, declarando tener “una frase preparada desde hace un año y medio". "Todo lo que puedo decir es que, cuando Flix dice 'te quiero', Orka contesta 'lo sé".

My rating: 4/10

I mean, yes, this movie is visually unappealing and has all the production values of wet toast, but let's not forget the awkward direction, bad pacing, and half-baked script. Best thing that can be said about it is that they got some seasoned voice actors who did what they could with what they were given.
