#I've got so many samplers and she's been having fun choosing a new scent for me to try each day! but she also happens to be chaotic neutral #today's choice (cleopatra by tocca) had all the hallmarks of a scent that I would absolutely despise #musky (every musky perfume I've tried so far I've hated)! heavy grapefruit notes (I have a personal vendetta against grapefruit)! #I even brought a trusted backup to work expecting to wash today's choice off within the first hour #I'm. SERIOUSLY considering getting a full bottle. this shit smells delectable #the muskiness actually plays exceedingly well with the heavier notes of patchouli and blackcurrant #(and coincidentally every blackcurrant-adjacent perfume I've tried I've absolutely adored) #and the sweetness of the grapefruit is made lighter with potent but not overpowering green notes #and then the heart notes! juicy peach and gentle tuberose just - MMN #it smells like fresh-brewed green tea. but yeah, the greens definitely didn't have serious motivations to do what they did. alicent surely didn't worry for the safety of her children when it comes to daemon because there is absolutely no evidence of him disliking her (when viserys chose her as his new wife he "reportedly whipped the serving boy who brought him the news within an inch of his life" pg 361), being cold to her sons ("men said that the prince was notably cool toward her children, especially his nephews, Aegon and Aemond, whose births had pushed him still lower in the order of succession" pg 369), or just generally being someone who delighted at the opportunity to be violent (see: his time as commander of the city watch, detailed briefly on pg 355).

you can say that you don't think they were correct in those assumptions if you want i suppose, but to act like they are baseless is stretching. honest to god my hottest take might be that rhaenyra would have had an easier time ascending if she'd not married daemon. he wrecked any goodwill or credibility she could have ever had with alicent. and honestly.... i can't blame her for worrying about the safety of her children.

I just realized something that I'm not even sure if the authors were looking at doing something this in-depth with Azula's time in the asylum and yeah we're talking about a completely different universe so this is all nit-picky.

But I wonder if the asylum even had wings for different age groups; when I was hospitalized (inpatient for a week and then outpatient the summer before my senior year) I was under 18 so not only at times was I with all (or mostly) girls, but I was surrounded by people close to my age. EDIT: during outpatient it was a larger mixture of teens ages and boys and girls so there were some differences there from inpatient

So let alone the fact that we don't have any evidence of medicine or how the place runs, as someone who's been on the receiving end of being in a hospital (voluntarily I might add) the fact that they wanted to play up her being in an asylum but not commit to the fact that Zuko hasn't checked on her, hasn't looked into the therapy/curriculum, made sure she's with peers her age just screams shoddy writing not to mention using this to maintain her villain status? Lmao F

The one thing she says that I'm willing to look past is her remark about the food, bc 1. It's probably going to be hospital grade food and 2. Azula is royalty and is used to getting gourmet stuff
