Okay. So this is an mlp au set in a world very unlike Equestria of Gen 4. There is a war going on. One of the biggest wars pony kind has ever seen. The skies darken with new magical weapons while trenches cut into the country side. Airplanes are one of the new technologies that are introduced to the world. They are canvas, wood, magic, and metal. Very dangerous and prone to breakdowns. Only pegasi should fly them. New tactics are being created each battle to try to remaster the air. 

So in this setting, we have two countries on two different sides. One is Hoofertin and the other is Wiehernland. One speaks english, Hoofertin, one speaks german,Wiehernland, but the languages are called something else in world. Focusing even further in, we have Moon Canary and Dämmerung as “mane characters”. Moon Canary is from Hoofertin and Dämmerung is from Wiehernland. 

Both are earth ponies, going directly against the grain of only pegasi in the airplanes. Moon Canary is there because he showed himself to be a quick study and risktaker, able to very quickly adapt to aerial fighing. Dämmerung was able to prove himself to be a master strategist and was able to figure out new flight formations. Both have delt with enormous pressure from other pilots to leave. 

Moon Canary met this by becoming more of an individual and being sucsful despite the lack of help from anyone other than his one friend in the air. His bestfriend is Nightbloom who enjoys his jokes, and both can often be found joking in corners while on the ground.

Dämmerung kept pushing and proving himself and gained the respect of the other pilots and became the leader of his own troupe in the Leinenen Vögel (the name of the Wiehernland airforce). He has a second in command and best friend named Himmelherz. Himmelherz reminds Dämmerung to relax.

As I said before friendly fire knocks these two out of the sky during a dog fight and they end up on a haunted island trying to work together to survive.

Key character traits

Moon Canary: optimist, loves having funny, jokes around, small.

Dämmerung: serious, level-headed, tends to be analytical, 

Neither backs down.
