Harry saw his family in the Mirror, aka, his deepest desire, wanting to be loved. Ron saw himself as the best of his brothers, aka, wanting to be the best. Harry gets embarrassed but happy when shown affection, Ron gets annoyed at Molly coddling him. Harry is the most attracted to the Resurrection Stone because it’s a way to see his family, Ron is the most attracted to the Elder Wand because it would give him power. Harry tried to save Malfoy, someone that he “hated” from the fire because he will not let ANYONE die, Ron told Harry to leave them and got angry at going back for them. Harry can not be effected by a horcrux or Voldy cuz of the love inside him, Ron is effected a LOT

Of course Ron is driven by love, all the characters are, even Snape, but to say more than Harry is inaccurate

Oh great it’s the Harry stans again. Okay here’s a preface: Harry is such a pitiful good guy that he literally keeps the bad guy alive. Can you believe it? Being a Horcrux keeps Voldemort alive, and Harry is a Horcrux. So logically Harry does more harm by staying alive than by being dead. Had Dumbledore just effing killed him instead of getting attached and trying to save the dumbass Voldemort would have died faster. Fuck Harry man, worst saviour of the world ever.

Now that this is out of the way...

Harry saw his family in the Mirror, aka, his deepest desire, wanting to be loved.

Ah ah ah, nope. It’s not that. You say it yourself. Harry sees his family. So Harry’s desire, logically... is a family. If possible, his original family because we all know how much “found family” means to the traditional Rowling.

Ron saw himself as the best of his brothers, aka, wanting to be the best.

Ron saw himself cumulating the accomplishments of Bill and Charlie specifically. It’s a little small for “wanting to be the best”, isn’t it? The best of his brothers, sure, but he could have seen himself being crowned World’s Best Emperor, or defeating Voldemort, or having legions of fangirls at his feet. No. Instead he’s shown “being like your cool older brothers”. A bit underwhelming for "being the best”.

Harry’s desire stems from longing, Ron’s desire stems from admiration, you could say.

Harry gets embarrassed but happy when shown affection, Ron gets annoyed at Molly coddling him

Ron gets annoyed outwardly, but inwardly we don’t know how he reacts. Maybe he acts annoyed because ugh Mum not in front of my friends I’m supposed to be a cool macho manly man, but inside he’s all fuzzy and it’s only his teenage pride that stands in the way of him returning his mother’s hugs. Case in point, when Ron gets complimented, he also reacts embarrassed but happy. Also, Molly usually coddles Ron right in front of Fred and George, which is another deciding factor: Ron hates being vulnerable in front of Fred and George because he knows they’ll bully him for it.

Harry is the most attracted to the Resurrection Stone because it’s a way to see his family

Yes yes poor wee Harry the orphan wah wah. Only orphans can feel love it’s well-known.

Ron is the most attracted to the Elder Wand because it would give him power.

And why would he want that power, hm?

Maybe for the same reason why he saw himself being the best out of his brothers?

Maybe because Ron craves recognition, admiration, praise? Love? Maybe because Ron believes that, with the power the Wand could give him, he’d finally be special enough to be worthy of loving?

Let’s think deeper than just “hurr durr rawn wants powur”.

Harry tried to save Malfoy, someone that he “hated” from the fire because he will not let ANYONE die,

Because Harry’s a fucking dumbass with issues who literally has a “saving-people-thing” as Hermione so eloquently put it at the worst possible moment tto put it.

It’s not much love that drives Harry to save Malfoy. It’s just that Harry has that martyr complex that won’t let him let anyone die.

Ron told Harry to leave them and got angry at going back for them

Because Ron literally had Hermione flying with him, and to go back would mean not only putting himself in danger (which, as we saw multiple times through the series, he’d gladly do anytime anyday) but also putting THE WOMAN HE LOVES in danger, and that isn’t something Ron does. Ron is perfectly happy to lay down his life (except when it’s for a proto-Nazi like Malfoy, and he’s right, you know) but he’s not willing to risk Hermione’s along with his. Ron sacrifices himself only, thank you, he’s not like Harry who’d guilt his friends into his disastrous “let’s save Sirius” expedition.

And in the end guess what? Ron went back, while having Hermione on his broom with him, because Harry was enough of a stupid fuck to try to save both Malfoy and Goyle and would have died otherwise. Ron risked both his and Hermione’s lives for the sake of his friend’s martyr complex. Oh Ron, why do you care so much for those selfish fucks, they don’t deserve you.

Harry can not be effected by a horcrux or Voldy cuz of the love inside him

If Harry really couldn’t be affected by Voldemort because of ~the lurve~ within, then how come he spent years getting glimpses of Voldemort’s mind? How come Voldemort was able to send him a fake vision of Sirius being tortured? If Harry is really protected by ~his lurve~ then seems like he needs a serious refill because he was running low on it by fifth year.

“Can you feel it, though?” Ron asked in a hushed voice, as he held it tight in his clenched fist. “What d’you mean?” Ron passed the Horcrux to Harry. After a moment or two, Harry thought he knew what Ron meant. Was it his own blood pulsing through his veins that he could feel, or was it something beating inside the locket, like a tiny metal heart? - Deathly Hallows, chapter 14

Aaaand yeah he needs a refill in lurve there. Cmon Harry you’re supposed to be the speshul one but even Ron can tell there’s something Voldemort-related here before you do. Really Harry, make an effort, you’re supposed to be the Voldemort radar and your “useless” sidekick beats you to it.

And look how much Harry is ~unaffected~ by the Horcrux thanks to his super ultra special awesome coolest power of LURVE:

Such unaffected much immunity very protagonist wow.

Also, what tells you it’s really ~LURVE~ that “protects” Harry from Horcruxes? After all, Harry is a Horcrux himself. Who’s to say the Horcruxes aren’t a little more lenient on him because they think he’s one of them? Who’s to say it’s really love that protects Harry and not the fact that he’s literal part of Voldemort? It makes more sense to me that the Horcruxes would act a bit more like antibodies, trying to destroy the part of Harry they can identify as “Not-Voldemort” and to keep the “Voldemort” part but having a hard time guessing which is which, rather than the hazy power of feeling feelings that every human being has.

All in all: Harry ain’t special dude. Yes he feels love. Like everyfuckingbody else. Yes his mother sacrificed herself for him. Like any halfway decent mother would.

But aside from being Mr Generic McGeneric there’s nothing that tells me he’s ~so purely strongly associated with love~. No. Nothing. He fights Voldemort because destiny wah wah killed my parents and stuff; Ron could have sat out the war as a neutral Pureblood and didn’t. Harry went around in circles thinking it would somehow accomplish something and being pissy at everyone but himself when it turned out doing the same thing over and over isn’t productive; Ron was told to leave and left the Hunt before he came back because he loved his friends.

Yeah if I should name a character I feel is more loving, I’d go for Ron, not for Harry, regardless of what ~canon~ tells but doesn’t show.

Lando's appearance in TROS is infuriating

I wanted Lando's appearance in this stupid fucking movie to be something good. But as always, they wasted Billy Dee's and our fucking time.

Would we find out that Lando Calrissian is Senator of Bespin who brings the remnants of the New Republic to aid The Resistance? No.

Would he be leading the Resistance after Han's death, Leia's message and Luke's sacrifice? lolno

In fact. Lando never mentions Han. He never mentions his nephew. "I miss Han." "I will always love the little boy you used to be, Ben. But you are a monster." Hell, there isn’t even a scene of Ben reaching out to Lando during his redemption. Ben could’ve signaled Lando for Help, Lando and Chewie would pick him up and they could make peace so Ben could save Rey. It could also be explained that they drop Ben off on Exegol via escape pods while Lando leads the fleet in the Battle of Exegol.

Is Lando giving inspiring and rousing speeches to motivate The Resistance? No, instead Lando listens to Poe.

Lando barely has a relationship with Finn and Poe, when he should have a mentorship with Poe and since he lost a child to The First Order, shouldn’t Finn have emphasized with him since he himself was a child soldier?

Luke and Lando were looking for the Wayfinders together apparently...any reason why it's not Luke and Leia? You know, ANAKIN'S CHILDREN and at this point, Leia is somewhat trained as a Jedi.

Apparently Lando stayed on Pasana after his kids was stolen.....Yeah this is complete and utter bullshit. You mean to tell me that Lando couldn't ask his old buddy Han for help? Han and Chewie would stop at nothing to search and find Lando's lost child.

"Landonis Balthazar Calrissian" Disney.....do you have to ruin everything? Even a simple name isn't enough for you is it?

"We had each other." No. No. No. You complete and utter blithering fucking idiots. Unlike the Resistance, the Rebel Alliance had a proper military which included different cells, thousands of soldiers and pilots determined to give up their lives for a cause greater than themselves. Luke, Han, Leia and Lando may have had leadership roles in the Rebellion, but they weren't the only ones who defeated the Empire. Hell, Rebels addresses this theme somewhat with Hera constantly making speeches about how the Lothal crew is fighting a fight bigger than themselves, but they were doing it so the galaxy could be free. This was before the events of the original trilogy.

Also Lando? "Not ready" Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Chewie, Artoo didn't sit around whining about how they weren't "ready" - they went out and did the thing, with the rest of the Rebel Alliance.

But the most infuriating and egregious thing about Lando in this shitstain of a movie is the fact that he is wearing the same fucking outfit from Solo. Lando is the definition of style, charm and fucking fashion porn. Are you fucking shitting me? You seriously couldn't give him a new outfit?

Does Lando decide to help out Poe with governing the Republic and helping to bring peace to the galaxy(think of it, Chancellor Calrissian has a nice ring to it) lolno but it's okay, we have an underdeveloped father and daughter storyline. Yay?

The most frustrating thing about Lando is the fact that they only brought him back when Carrie Fisher passed away. I'll never not be convinced that adding Lando (and Billy Dee) never crossed their minds until they felt the need to course-correct after TLJ.

Here are ways they could’ve used Lando in TFA and TLJ

If they had wanted to include Lando (even as a cameo) in TFA... you know what would've been the perfect role for him? Someone who owns a well known watering hole, a place Han might have taken a couple wanted kids in confidence.... someone who, because they used to run Bespin, might actually make a lick of sense to have Anakin's previously lost lightsaber. Someone of good reputation with both the legit and less savory members of the galaxy... someone who would definitely know about casino planets and code breakers. So NOT Maz Kanata, Lando. Also, if you needed to have someone explain the Lightsaber and the force to Finn and Rey, why not Leia?

TLJ Pitch 1. Lando should have been The Master Codebreaker. Let’s look at Maz’s description for the Master Codebreaker "He's a master codebreaker, an ace pilot, a poet with a blaster." That sure does sound like fucking Lando to me. It still baffles me that they gave us a casino planet in TLJ but then chose to not include Lando in that setting although he was introduced as a gambler back in TESB. Lando is the person Finn and Rose are meant to meet, the one in the Indiana Jones type tuxedo and has the a red plom bloom. Only, Finn and Rose actually parks legally and doesn’t get stupidly arrested. Lando is on Canto Bight to grieve in his own way for Han, but also because he’s doing a stakeout on Crime Lord King Prana(played by Benico del Toro and King Prana was set up by being the guy Han was gonna sell Raftars to) Finn and Rose help Lando out and in exchange, Lando helps Finn and Rose in their quest to disable the Hyperspace Tracker. We also get to see Lando and FInn both grieve for Han. So yes, Lando would be able to disable the Hyperspace tracker, but Phasma would catch them on their way to the escape pods.

Pitch 2. Lando brings the remnants of the New Republic after hearing Leia’s message. After Leia’s signal and Luke’s sacrifice, Hux informs Kylo Ren that they have the Falcon in their sights(keep in mind they have their fleet in orbit) a massive fleet appearing in the planet’s orbit. Ships of all different sizes and shapes, from countless planets throughout the galaxy, lead by Lando Calrissian flying his flagship the Lady Luck! Uniting and standing up to the First Order for once. They don’t even have to attack, just show up and fire a few shots to blow up a few walkers or something as the First Order retreats in a panic. Prior to Luke's sacrifice. we find out that he appeared as a hologram to several major New Republic leaders in the galaxy, calling them to arms. He then bought the Resistance time to hold out until help arrived. Together with Leia’s signal and Luke’s message. New The Republic is united in facing The First Order.

Then in TROS, we could’ve seen him as the esteemed Admiral Calrissian. Leading the Republic fleets and mentoring Finn and Poe. We could’ve introduced Jannah as his daughter instead of pointlessly taking away Finn’s backstory. Lando tells Poe that he will honor Leia’s wish that Ben would return home, depending on what choice he makes. If Ben chooses the light, Lando will welcome him back and help him on his path of atonement, if he chooses to stay in darkness, he will be tried for crimes against the Republic. Naturally Ben would seek Lando out for help. Lando and Chewie would fly Ben to Exegol so Ben and Rey can destroy Palpatine. Celebration. Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Jannah and Ben. While Lando and Chewie are happy that their nephew is alive. We could have novels telling us that Lando became Chancellor while Rey, FInn, Poe, Jannah, Rose and Ben help Lando heal the galaxy.

That’s how Lando should have been handled in the Sequel Trilogy

No it seems to be impying that Terezi as a Mind player is on the same sort of narrative Turf as Dirk here, but that this is sort of home base for her, while Dirk is in actuality out of his element in controlling words and narrative

Probably because it has been seen to be a purely mental state in terms of the characters who experience it, and even in Homestuck1 Terezi did have little nods that she was sort of aware of the text

well that was uncomfortable as fuck but still quite in character for the guy who said Plants were the best kind of friend because they didnt fight back.

Give your friends juuust enough free will until it becomes inconvenient to you then force them to do what you want, yeah thats not repulsive at all.

So, theses kinds of abusive behaviours are just inherent to Dirk then, even if simply because he’s just the kind of guy who prioritizes himself and his own comfort and control above others and feels like he can force other people to be and act like the kind of people he wants them be whenever he feels like it, no consideration at all for if they want to do shit that has nothing to do with him or worse, go against him.

I like how its really hammering it in through all of these references that the exact same outcome would have been inevitable in this scenario no matter who was the author of homestuck, it always would have been a communal work that turned into a story of one mans design, and no matter how good that design would be, one man is simply not the sum of an entire fandom, and if he were, he would be formless and identityless with no consciousness of his own.

I am however, not excited to devolve into random midnight updates that interrupt my sleep schedule because im too old for that shit and also i have a steady job with regular hours now so i have an actual sleep schedule now (so hopefully thats another thing that Not!Homestuck^2 decides to be all opposite day on...hopefully..)

As the news of AcEijun spreads like wildfire, I'm gonna spew out some unpopular opinions about the developments (or lack thereof, as complained by some fans) on Act II.

Not really spoilers. Just a personal view from someone who never plays baseball. (Although I had, at one point, played Pawapuro.)

During the first 100 chapters of Act II I read complaints on the spoiler forums. Most of them can be summarized as such:

1. "Why tf Furuya gets power-up in Spring Koshien? His control and stamina is terrible!" 2. "Why haven't people recognize Eijun already? Look at him, his pitches, his control! *does the Will Smith pose*" 3. "Wtf is Kataoka doing throughout spring? Planning on buying new shades? lol"

And one question that arose from Act I:

4. "Why didn't Kataoka let Eijun pitch in the Fall T finals till the end? Don't give the glory to Furuya ffs!"

(There are probably more questions but these are the noticeable ones.)

So my issues with the replies to these questions are that... they are not satisfying to me. All of them are said in the technical aspect of the story, while ultimately forgetting that this story also leans towards the people aspect. We, the readers somehow are trained to think that EVERYONE who watches baseball are players and automatically know the baseball jargons.

The thing is, they aren't.

The in-universe spectators actually have the very same reactions like IRL spectators. Some of them are / were players themselves, meaning they knew all the rules and technicals. But the majority of them? They know NOTHING about baseball.

People who know nothing about baseball (let's call them the plebs) watch the games differently than those who have experience playing baseball. People who do play baseball pay attention to all the details; pitch type, whether a pitch is strike or ball, pitch count for each pitcher, the usage of the strike zones, all the detailed statistics.

But the plebs? They can't differentiate between a corner strike and a corner ball. Curves and slurves, 2-seamers and 4-seamers look the same. So they focus on what they can understand.

Pitch speed display "154 km/h"? Wow look at that pitch, it's damn fast! Players making errors on the field? lolololol what the heck. A runner ramming against a fielder? OMG is the fielder okay? OH, HE GETS HOMERUN!!!!111 And ofc, "Aww look at that pitcher, he's the ace his pitches are fast he even gets a homerun, so cooooooooooooooooool~"

So before you start typing and complain about the spectators, maybe you need to read the manga as someone who never plays baseball. This is a manga with multiple perspectives, if you choose to only read it from a player's PoV ofc you'd wonder why the heck Eijun is not immediately popular in Spring T.

Okay. Opinion time.

1. "Why tf Furuya gets power-up in Spring Koshien? His control and stamina is terrible!"

The statement, that I totally agree. From what I've noticed, Furuya is the type of player who must not go all out in a peak body condition. He has excessive strength - unfortunately it's not needed because it keeps backfiring on him.

Just. Look at all of his matches when he's at peak condition. His pitches go all over the place lol he even injured Ono with them, poor boys.

"But, but how do you explain his best pitches?"

Okay, here's the thing. One thing Furuya always does when he becomes a relief is to pitch in the bullpen. And he always goes all out. After a while he loses that extra strength, he gets sweaty, he's warmed up - then he could pitch better. When he's the starter, he has little to no chance to warm up, no chance to flex the stiff muscles, no way to reduce that excess strength, hence the reason his pitches fly everywhere.

Spring Koshien is a tournament packed in about 7 days. Imagine pitching for many days straight? Your energy gets drained, you sweat a lot, you become fatigued.

Luckily, Spring Koshien is held in - surprise - spring, meaning cool breezy weather, less sweaty, nicely rested. Stamina lasts longer. Fatigue is still there though, and it limits Furuya's pitches.

Aaaaaaaand yep, because fatigue became Furuya's limiter his pitches were more manageable. All of his best pitches are always due to some kind of limiter. Spring Koshien with his fatigue. Fall T finals? It was because he was pitching despite a foot injury lol must be painful, it restricts his movements.

Just. Re-read those matches.

(Miyuki is the only person who notices this particular weakness and has been pointing it out, but Furuya just. Doesn't. Listen. Another huge weakness Furuya has.)

2. "Why haven't people recognize Eijun already? Look at him, his pitches, his control! *does the Will Smith pose*"

This complaint came in during the Spring T arc. Do you know? Only 2 high school baseball tournaments in Japan get TV broadcasts - the Spring Koshien, and the Summer Tournaments all the way to Summer Koshien.

Spring T is not broadcasted on TV, so whatever development Eijun showed was limited only to those who personally went to the stadiums to watch the matches. On the other hand, whatever impression people have on Eijun is still stuck at the Spring Koshien debut. You know, that match where Eijun rolled off the mound lol

If we want all 120 million people to recognize Eijun's greatness during Spring T, they'd have to go to Tokyo and watch in the stadium, which can only fit between 35k to 60k people. Realistically? It's an impossible feat. Seriously. You're dreaming of the impossible.

BUT.

Because Eijun's epic debut is that funny incident, people are not going to forget him that easily. (Compare to the possible scenario on debuting normally, which means he'd definitely be overshadowed by Furuya because what did Eijun have? His pitches was not fast, his batting skills were still questionable. Very easily forgettable.) Now that he's officially appointed as Seidou's ace, what do you think people's reaction would be, now that Summer T will be broadcasted on local TVs and online?

"Hey, isn't that the guy who fell on Koshien's mound last spring? HE'S THE ACE?? WTF HOW?? WHY??"

Oh, people's reactions will be priceless. And they will definitely be interested in him. Because last time they saw this kid, he was a clown.

NOW IT'S EIJUN'S TIME TO SHINE.

3. "Wtf is Kataoka doing throughout spring? Planning on buying new shades? lol"

This question refers to Kataoka's impassiveness throughout Spring Koshien and Spring T. He went silent mode during training and matches and left all players to do things by themselves (under constant monitoring ofc). Yeah we're not the coaches but I do get why he acted like that.

First of all Kataoka wanted the players to think for themselves. Play in matches, watch the replay, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, work on them. Eijun does that. Miyuki does that. Kuramochi and Zono do that. Kataoka did not try to meddle in their training (unlike one old man) but if they ask for help, he will help. Eijun and his batchmates have been teammates for a year, they are supposed to know what to do by now, so Kataoka can focus on new kids.

But of course, his silence didn't help much because Furuya was clearly struggling, to the point that Eijun got royally pissed off in the match against... against who? Was it Ichidai San? I forgot.

(People were like "Yay, look at Miyuki, he has goosebumps! He's very proud of Eijun!" but judging from Miyuki's facial expression I was like, "lolno, Miyuki is fucking scared of Eijun's accurate pitches, Eijun's really pissed off lmao")

Eijun's pissed off pitches were wake-up slaps to Kataoka's face lmao

Aaaaaaand the final question.

4. "Why didn't Kataoka let Eijun pitch in the Fall T finals till the end? Don't give the glory to Furuya ffs!"

My instant response for this question: lol you guys rly don't care about Eijun's mental health, do you.

I want you to imagine this:

It's Fall Tournament, and Eijun has been suffering from yips for about 3 months. He can't pitch to the inside corner; the deadball against Inashiro's Shirakawa in the last Summer T finals made him scared of pitching there. He has to try other ways, other methods, and eventually he learns the outside corner.

The outside corner is so effective, but when the opponents figure out his pitching pattern? They forced him to eventually use the inside corner. He succeeded, yes, but it was still scary. What if he pitched a deadball again?

Fast forward to the semi-finals. Seidou vs. Seikou, a.k.a. the scariest game in Eijun's life. Ever? Probably ever. Because despite his success on pitching into the inside corner, and that he learned change-up, remember that he was still afraid of deadballs, and one wrong step could destroy everything he had worked. For good and for real.

If you actually read the Seidou vs. Seikou match from Eijun's PoV, you'll find that it's indeed fucking scary.

First, he threw a deadball. Just several days after he was able to throw to the inside corner, and he pitched a deadball. The thing he was scared of the most, he did it.

Second, Kanemaru's mistakes. It added more fuel to trigger the yips back in full force. Ever noticed how Eijun's hands tremble after that? Eijun was so fucking scared, he was stressed, he actually panicked. It was thanks to his teammates that he was able to pitch easier after that.

Then when he got an easier time pitching, came another incident. Miyuki was slammed by the big pitcher. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

(I can imagine part of the reason Miyuki hid his pain was because he knew Eijun was already nearing his mental health limit just playing in that game. Imagine if Eijun found out - even he'd be devastated no matter how much he wanted to emit sunshine. That was why Miyuki kept hiding it until the end of the Fall T finals.)

So the finals came ONE DAY after the semi-finals. Eijun's mental health was improving but was still scarred from yesterday's match. Kataoka knew this. Miyuki knew this. Their decision: to not stretch Eijun's mental health limits too far.

And we all know which is the most stressful part of the finals, because we have seen it before - the final innings of the match.

Basically Kataoka pulled Eijun off the final inning to preserve his mental health that had been stretched to its limit due to yesterday's match against Seikou. And you guys wanted him to face the most stressful inning that destroyed him last time in the Summer T? wtf

So what if Furuya hogged the glory? Furuya only pitched in that one inning, he shouldn't be too complacent (even though he was lol)

And that's basically my opinions throughout the so-called unfair treatments throughout the series. Like I said, this manga is not supposed to be read entirely from the technical aspects of high school baseball. You need to understand the people involved in it, too.

who do you think sansa will end up with?

“End up with” is kind of vague. I think that could mean a lot of things. In the books Sansa and Sandor have a mutual attraction that I expect to be resolved or addressed somehow, but I don’t at all know how, and that doesn’t mean that ship will be “endgame” (”exist past the last page of the books” is the definition of “endgame” I’m going with here).

THE SHOW

I would not be surprised if Sansa ended up with no one. The plot is quickly turning toward the war against the White Walkers, and with only 13 episodes left there’s not a lot of room for non-essential plotlines, which I think a Sansa romance would be. Honestly, I would strongly prefer a Single Sansa plotline where she cuddles with her siblings in Winterfell (also my book preference).

It’s very unclear whether her path will intersect with Tyrion’s and Sandor’s again (my top book choices, below) and whether her ties to them will ever come to fruition on the show, so I can’t say there. On the whole I’m a bit more doubtful than optimistic.

The main guys surrounding her at the moment are Littlefinger, Podrick, and Jon. Littlefinger–nope. Jon–also no, his story is taking him away from Winterfell for long stretches, and despite the Weird Vibes of last season I really don’t think they’re going there. Podrick would be my choice if Sansa has to have a romance (and again, I don’t think she does). I doubt there would be much to it–a bit of flirting, a lingering gaze, a hint that something might happen in the future. I’m 100% sure it would be adorable. (Everything Pod does is adorable.) If D&D decided to take a vote, this would be mine.

THE BOOKS

There are more candidates here, and it’s significantly murkier for me.

It’s indisputable that Sandor is her main romantic attachment at the moment, and I do fully expect them to cross paths again and resolve that. I’m not personally interested in it in a fannish way (I’m only interested in Sandor as a character development device for Sansa, really) but presumably something is going to happen there. What that something will be is hard to say, though. There’s the matter of the un-kiss, of course. I have strong doubts that their relationship will end up in an “endgame” marriage, though, largely because I think Sandor is probably slated for the chopping block. (I fully expect Sansa to survive the series, though.)

My other vote for “most likely” is Tyrion. For one thing, they’re already married. (I don’t expect their marriage to be successfully annuled.) Their marriage was unconsummated and unwanted by both parties, but that only means it would close the circle for them to decide to be together in the end after all and make their marriage a true one, a symbol of peace between Stark and Lannister. And for both Sandor and Tyrion, who are conventionally unattractive, there is a certain fittingness to closing out the theme of Sansa finally rejecting “beauty=goodness” through her choice of romantic partner. But my problem here is the same as with Sandor–especially if Tyrion is the third head of the dragon, he’s gonna die. (I don’t expect there to be any living dragons at the end of the series.)

On to some less likely, but in some ways more likely, choices.

There’s Edric “Ned” Dayne. I found his introduction in ASOS to be particularly noteworthy, with the delayed revelation of his identity signaling its importance and potentially a larger role for him to play in the books in the future. It’s definitely interesting that he has curly blond hair, like Joffrey, and he did make a point of mentioning to Arya how he noticed Sansa at the Hand’s tourney. Certainly, like Sandor, he’s embroiled in the main theme and image of Sansa’s story–knighthood. All in all, a strong outside candidate. It’s not really clear how they might meet up; his story is more connected to Arya’s in location so far, but maybe he shows up for the War for the Dawn?

However, at the same time as I see Ned’s strength as a candidate, I also see concerns. If Sansa’s desires and values have truly changed, doesn’t that preclude the kind, chivalrous, blond dreamboat of her youthful fantasies? I’m not saying Sansa shouldn’t get what she wants–only that what she wants might change to such a degree that Ned ends up excluded from the set. Or perhaps Sansa does get the kind, chivalrous dreamboat but with a more mature understanding of love, relationships, and goodness deliberately contrasting with her relationship with Joffrey, in a “coming full circle” kind of way.

(Personally, I’m not hugely into any of “Arya’s people” falling in love with Sansa. Ned isn’t one of Arya’s people to the same degree as Gendry, of course, but it is a slight reservation on my part.)

Again, Podrick is an option here, another strong outside candidate. He too is part of the “knighthood” thread throughout the books, and if–as I hope–Brienne does meet up with Sansa eventually, it is clearer how he might become part of her story. As a romance, it would possibly be doomed because he’s not of an appropriate station to marry Sansa (unlike Ned, who is).

Littlefinger–no.

Sweetrobin–lolno. Also, he’s doomed.

Harry Hardyng–Obviously this is canonically on the table, and Harry is part of the “knighthood” thread too, and maybe he’s strung along for a while with a betrothal after Sansa’s identity is revealed (he’s certainly thirsty enough to want power over two main regions of Westeros, and LF knows how to handle thirsty social climbers if only because he is one himself), but also ultimately no. I expect the Arryns to die out, if only because of the drama that would ensue. (Anytime the situation of “there’s only one heir and the line is in danger of extinction” is foregrounded in a plot, I think it’s only reasonable to assume the extinction has at least a strong possibility of happening, particularly when it’s a writer like GRRM.)

Also, I just don’t want it to happen. Fuck Harry. I dislike him more than Joffrey, honestly, and I don’t want him anywhere near Sansa. It’s not entirely rational, but there it is.

Aegon (or fAegon)–I don’t really see their storylines connecting. Also doomed.

Willas–That plotline is over for good, I think.

Jon–no. Yes, I really ship it, but no. Jon is not part of the “knighthood” cluster at all, and I think thematically only characters strongly connected to “knighthood” are really eligible for a Sansa endgame. Honestly, Garlan Tyrell would make a better match in that regard, and he’s already married, haha. Also, I think Jon has an even better chance than Sandor or Tyrion of being dead at the end of the series. Like 99.999% repeating.

I can’t think of any other major candidates, but if I missed one, LMK.

Re: long “about you” (circa 2013 vs now)

I’m going through my posts (which is a terrible idea with 18,000+ posts), and I have found this “about you” survey thing. For my personal enjoyment, and any followers who cares enjoyment, I am answering it again, but also keeping my original answers (from November 1st, 2013--first semester of college, still living at home, had never gone on a real date, poor lil baby me).

New answers in bold! Read if you wanna compare first semester of college me to last semester of college me.

1. Are you satisfied with the way your life is right now? Mostly, yeah,

Yeah, I’d keep this answer about the same honestly. Satisfaction seems like such a hard thing to quantify. I want more. I always want more. I’m an ambitious person. But right now in this moment, I’m getting decent grades, in a decent apartment, with an amazing partner, I have enough food, enough money to buy coffee on the way to class, enough hope for the future to keep going. Pretty satisfied with the right now life, and I’m excited for the more to come.

2. Do you drink enough water? No, water is gross.

God no, never. I drink mostly coffee and wine. I am never hydrated enough.

3. When was the last time you ate at Burger King? Like a year or more ago, I guess.

I . . . have no idea? Have I eaten at Burger King since 2012? Maybe? I had Wendy’s today, let’s pretend that counts.

4. Do you prefer the beach or the mountains? I’m more familiar with beaches, but ugh mountains sure look pretty.

This is the same answer. I have far more experience with beaches than mountains, but I still really love looking at mountains (also at beaches (also at anything else pretty)).

5. How do you usually feel when you wake up on a morning? I try to avoid waking up in the morning.

A strange mixture of sad and mad. I super dislike waking up. It makes me angry. My partner has told me, when I’ve asked them to help me wake up, “but you get mad at me when I wake you up.” Yes, sorry I know, it’s not you, it’s waking up--it sucks. Angry at whatever has woken me up, and sad because I get very sad when sleepy.

6. Would you rather take someone on a date, or be taken on a date? I would rather just not go on a date. Can’t we watch sci-fi and cuddle on the couch instead?

Yeah all three. I really love being spoiled, being taken somewhere and treated sweetly and kissed passionately, and I really love taking someone somewhere and treated them sweetly and kissing them passionately. I also love stay-in dates. Let’s watch ATLA in bed and eat ice cream? (actually a super common date with my partner and I--I love it<3 and them<3).

7. When was the last time you wore high heeled shoes? About a month ago! I was sexy, man, sexy.

Ooooh. I have not very high heels I wear nearly daily, a little bit higher but still not high heels I wore at work this summer, and then I had actual high heels that I wore to a fundraiser wine-tasting thing with my mother this summer. 8. How often do you cry? I get a little teary eyed when I see LotR posts, but I hardly ever actually cry. Real crying happens like once a month, maybe.

HA. HA. HA. Like two days ago. I’ve been crying nearly daily lately. I’m a mess. (this feels contradictory to the satisfaction as mentioned above, but it’s not really. I can be fully aware of how nice my life is, how satisfied I am with it, and still be depression and neurotic and a general anxious mess. It’s fun.)

9. Ever had a crush on a teacher? I was homeschooled until this year when I started college, so no, I’ve never had a crush on a teacher.

Still gonna say no. I’ve had teachers I’ve thought were really cute (one grad student teacher that everyone in the class agreed “wanna fuck that”), and I’ve had a teacher who crushed on me (that was weird). But never a person I’ve actually crushed on.

10. Can you wire a plug? I’ve changed outlets before. Does that count?

Same answer. Still wondering if changing outlets counts.

11. Do you wear socks to bed? No. Socks annoy my feet.

12. What is currently bugging you? I am currently bugged that I have homework that I don’t want to do. Homework bugs me.

Yeah yeah, still avoiding homework.

13. Where were you when you got your first period? I woke up in a puddle of blood when I was about 13. That was fun.

Oh yeah this answer can’t change. Still true. I was 13 and slept hard enough to wake up in a puddle. I still wake up in puddles occasionally. It’s great fun.

14. Can you change a car tire? Yeah, I’ve helped my dad do it before, but truth is, I can’t do it by myself. I’m too weak.

Yeah still same. I don’t think I could actually do it by myself, but, in theory, I know how.

15. Have you met more than ten celebrities? I’ve never met any. D:

I am going to argue that I have because I think I have met pre-celebrities. “Celebrities” being interrupted lightly. The thing about being a creative writing major is most of my classmates are aspiring novelists or poets, and I think some of them are really good and/or really determined. While writers are very rarely “celebrities”, I think for the writing community, at least 10 of them will be noted in some form or another.

16. Do you sleep naked? Eh, I have a couple times, but I prefer clothes.

Sometimes after sex, yeah, but usually I’ll put on undies and a shirt. I find it more comfy.

17. What was the best music gig you’ve ever attended? Oh man. I’ve seen some good concerts. I recently saw Skillet, and boy howdy, they were good. They knew how to put on a show. Other good ones were Sick Puppies, Staind, and Halestorm.

GREEN DAY. They were the best fucking concert ever. AND ALSO. I groped my partner throughout the entire concert, which made it even better.

18. Have you ever had sexual feelings for anyone you follow? Yo, I follow Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Of course I have had sexual feelings for someone I follow.

I follow my partner, and I have sex with them daily. So yes.

19. Do you think bisexual candycorn is hot? Candycorn is gross, but I’m bisexual and hot.

Actually, I am not bi. This was little baby me trying to find a word to describe my sexuality, and, upon finding bisexual, clung to it firmly and with great passion. At this point in my life, I am choosing to not pick a firmer label and am just going with queer. Bi is too limiting, too binary. Pan is more accurate, but I feel weird about that, like it still doesn’t feel right. So. I am identifying as queer now.

20. Favourite Disney princess? Mulan and Merida. Those are some strong-willed women who don’t need a man.

21. Favourite city? Minas Tirith.

Yeah, true, it’s a cool city. I really like Philadelphia though. I’ve loved living here, it’s such a cool city. I’m going to miss it a lot when I graduate and move away. I’m excited to try on Chicago though, and I look forward to trying some west coast cities--Portland maybe? San Fran maybe?

22. Can you drive? Yeah, but I don’t like it.

NOT LEGALLY. I couldn’t then either, yo. I can drive, as in I know how and have done it before, I don’t drive and don’t have a licence. HOPEFULLY that is coming soon.

23. Cigarettes or alcohol? Alcohol. Yes.

24. Exercise or healthy eating? I am currently consuming beer and animal crackers. Healthy eating isn’t a priority of mine. As for exercise, I have asthma and nearly die when I try to!

Lol I am currently consuming a poptart and rum, and I still have asthma. Yeah, some things never changed.

25. Favourite and least favourite accents? I love accents. I have never met one I didn’t like. My favorite though is probably Scottish.

Yeeaaaah, gimme some sexy Scots speaking so thickly I can’t understand it. It’s so pretty though.

26. What are you looking forward to? Not doing homework.

GRADUATION. I’m so close. I’m so ready. So uhm. Basically the same as then, but in a more long-term way (until I go to grad school--but that’s a couple years off probably).

27. Did you play Red Rover when you were a child? Bitch, I was the Blue Ranger.

I don’t know what my answer means honestly. But yes to both.

28. Are you more attracted to men or women? Erm, men. Preferences are okay. ^_^
