Now that I think about it, didn't the infamous "Supreme Leader and two young men" lost lore event use Male!Byleth as the BE teacher? L!Ladle trailer also used him, and now Engage has SL simping over m!Billy as well. Meanwhile, everytime F!Billy is used by IS she's associated with the kingdom and church. Her duo with Rhea, Sothis costume, paralogue with Ingrid and Sylvain, Gatekeeper's animations, L!Dimitri's trailer, cipher card with blue soldiers, pic with Dee n Nemesis, etc. Interesting...

We know what is the main market/target both Feh and Fe16 panders to, and he Supreme Leader's doodle wasn't clear enough, M!Billy is supposed to be the default Billy, or at least Supreme Leader's luf interest.

But in every apparition that is not Fe16 (even nopes to an extent) Billy, when they're allowed to be more than a cardboard the player can "insert" themselves in, shows more affinity for the church, and in a way, to the kingdom (since the alliance is a republic and we know what IS thinks of republics in the fe series).

It's pretty telling how some parts of the Fandom only use Billy to depict Supreme Leader as "progressive", to the point of erasing M!Billy's existence...
