Name of fic: Come As You Are Pairing: Mike McLusky x OFC (Allacia) Plot summary: Allacia is one of Mike’s assistants with Rebecca and she used to “work” for Milo Sunter. Warnings: Spoilers for MoK season 2 (especially episode 7), fluff, implied smut. Author’s note: I have watched the recent episode of the show, and I was kinda right with what happened next?. 😂This is my own idea of what would happen. Of course, this fic is inspired by a picture I saw on Twitter and I just had to. You’re welcome and enjoy. 😉
Tumblr media
Allacia unlocked Mike’s office door. He wasn’t at his desk. To be honest, he wasn’t in his office at all. But she heard his phone going off as soon as she opened his door.
Rebecca already went home, so Allacia was all alone in the office.
“Mike?” She called out to the empty room.
She went over to his desk and somehow managed to unlock the drawer that Mike always kept locked. She got a paperclip out of her pocket and opened it up. She fiddled with the lock, trying to get Mike’s phone out of it. The drawer opened eventually and she picked up the phone.
She noticed that his brother Kyle was trying to call him, so she answered it.
“Hello, Mike? I need to talk to you.” She heard the voice coming from the phone. “Kyle? It’s me Allacia. Mike locked his phone in his desk drawer, for some reason.” She replied to him, closing the drawer and sitting in Mike’s chair. “Alli? What are you doing in his office so late at night?” He asked her. “I was doing some paperwork. What did you want to talk to Mike about?” She questioned Kyle.
She heard Kyle sigh into the phone. She knew he was kind of distressed as his breathing became quicker with every huff.
“Fuck. I-I just saw Iris. At this nightclub, I went to.” He panted. “What? Which club? I’ll tell Mike… wherever he is.” You got a pen and a piece of paper out and waited for Kyle to tell her the name of the club he went to. “I don’t know. The sign on the building is very unclear on what the name is.”
Allacia rubbed the bridge of her nose as she took off her glasses.
“Okay, okay… I’ll go and find Mike and see what’s happening with him. It’s weird why he’s done this.” She said to him. “You know where you’re looking?” Kyle asked her. “Yeah… I know a few places.” “Be careful out there, okay?”
Allacia just nodded. She knew how to protect herself out there on the streets of Kingstown. She could shoot a gun and could stab someone with a knife.
“I will. Go home to Traci, she needs you.” She said to him softly. “Of course, I will. Mike needs you too, you know that right?”
As she heard Kyle’s words, she hesitated for a moment. She was worried about Mike. Was he kidnapped? Or did he just go out for a walk to calm himself down?
Kyle knew about her inevitable crush on his brother. He figured it out quite quickly. Allacia was quite obvious with the lovey-dovey eyes she gave Mike, mostly all of the time.
“I know. I’ll let you know if I find him okay?” “Yeah. Let me know.”
Allacia heard Kyle end the call and she threw Mike’s phone on the desk, sighing and leaning her head back on the chair. She tried to figure out where Mike could be at this time.
His cabin? Bunny’s territory near the laundromat? The ice rink? Evelyn’s office?
There were many places, but she knew exactly where he could be.
She then got up from his chair, picked up his phone, and walked out of his office.

Meanwhile, Mike was sitting at the bar counter, drinking some whiskey. He didn’t know what was going on in his mind at the moment.
Well, just about everything. Milo, Iris, Bunny, Kyle, and his family.
And then there was Allacia. All those feelings of uncertainty fogged up his thoughts as he put his head in his hands.
Was he falling in love with her?
He didn’t realize Allacia walking into the bar, as his back was facing the front door. Her heels clicked on the wooden floor. She recognized Mike’s suit and the short sandy-brown hair.
She shook her head as she noticed the way he was slouching forward.
She eventually stood next to him and sighed softly, seeing the state he was in.
“Mr. McLusky…” She muttered quietly. “Sorry, I’m not interested.” He instantly said before asking the bartender for another drink. “Mike.”
He turned his head towards her voice and was shocked to see her standing there.
“Alli?” He gulped, the bags under his eyes were visible to her chocolate brown eyes. “What are you doing here?” “I should ask you the same question.” She mumbled under her breath.
She then sat on the barstool next to him, her body fully turned towards Mike. He had taken off his tie, maybe it was because he was getting hot and sweaty in the warm temperatures of the bar. Or maybe it was the whiskey he was drinking.
She put up her hand and shook her head, denying the offer for a drink from the bartender.
“Why did you run away? I know you did, don’t deny it like you always do.” She asked him. “I didn’t technically run away.”
She scoffed at him, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah. You did. Me and Kyle were worried about you.” “You talked to Kyle?” “Well yeah, I didn’t have a choice. You locked your phone in your desk drawer. He was calling you, so I managed to unlock it and answer the call for you.”
Mike then turned his head towards you as you put his phone on the bar counter, sliding it to him. He managed to catch it with his left hand and put it in his pocket.
“You answered my phone?!” He grumbled. “What the fuck was I supposed to do Mike? You weren’t answering your brother, who could’ve been in distress. Which he was, by the way. He found Iris.”
Mike froze for a moment.
“What?” He faltered, the words were coming out slowly. “He found Iris. He found her in some kind of nightclub. Unfortunately, he didn’t know the name of the club. The sign was very unclear to read.” She explained to him.
Mike just groaned as he placed his head on the counter.
“I’m guessing you’re not bothered to know that just yet, huh?” Allacia said to him, hearing his groaning. She kinda knew what was going on inside of his head.
All of this was just too much for Mike. Sometimes she didn’t want him to take this job at all. Give it to someone else.
But before Mitch got shot, he wanted Mike to take over, despite Mike denying the offer over and over again.
All she saw was Mike nodding his head, grunting again.
She then stood up and pushed the half-full glass of whiskey away from Mike. She then crossed her arms and stared at him. “Come on Mike. Let’s go home.” “No. Let me stay here and wallow in pity.” Mike retorted.
Allacia just sighed.
“For fuck sake Mike, get out of the fucking chair, or I will physically pull you off of the stool.” She exhaled a little bit. “Pft. You’re not strong enough to even lift me.” “Oh yeah? Try me.”
Somehow, she managed to successfully pulled him off of the stool and outside of the bar.
“Stop being such a grumpy pants and get in the car.” She commanded him, pushing him towards her car. “I’m going to take you home.” “I don’t have a home.” He whined back as he tried to open the passenger door.
She rolled her eyes as she opened it for him.
“What?! What about your cabin?” She asked him. “Can’t go back there anymore. The FBI closed it off, so I can’t enter it, just like the last office we had.” Mike explained, muttering every word.
He climbed into the passenger seat and just sat there, staring forwards at absolutely nothing.
Allacia sighed and rolled her eyes, mumbling to herself, “You are going to be the death of me, Mr. McLusky…”
She closed the passenger door before walking over to the driver's seat, opening that door, and getting into the car. She shut the door afterward.
“Fine then. I’ll take you to my house. You’re lucky I have a spare bedroom.”
She started the engine and drove out of the bar’s carpark onto the main road.
Allacia’s house was just outside of Kingstown, not as far as Mike’s cabin, but it was away from all the chaos of the town.
“So where were you sleeping exactly? In the office?” questioned Allacia.
Mike stayed silent, looking down slowly. He then eventually said something after a moment of silence. “What do you think?” “Mike. If you would’ve told me this earlier, I would’ve let you stay at mine.” Allacia spoke in a hushed tone, keeping her eyes on the road.
Mike finally looked at her after being silent for most of the car ride.
“Wait what? You would do that for me?” He faltered as he nervously looked at her. “Mike, just because I’m your assistant, doesn’t mean I can’t take care of you. We’ve been working together since your brother Mitch was the mayor.” She explained to him.
Mike just smiled at her, the first time he has that night.
“Thanks, Allacia. For being there for me.” “No problem. I know what you’re going through. Trust me.”
Tumblr media
・ 。゚☆: .☾ . :☆゚.・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚.
They finally arrived at her house and she parked the car in the driveway. Mike was sobering up as he managed to get out of the car.
She unlocked her front door and let Mike in first, turning on the hallway light and closing it behind her. She put her keys in her usual spot; a container that was on a shelf near the door.
Mike made himself at home, sitting on the black leather sofa in the living room.
Allacia put down her handbag, took her phone out of it, and put it on charge. She placed it on the TV stand.
She then took a creamed-colored sweater and put it on.
Mike watched as she walked into the kitchen, which was connected to the living room, and was pouring 2 cups; one was coffee and the other was herbal tea. It was peppermint flavored of course.
Herbal tea was Allacia’s guilty pleasure whenever she wanted to relax after a busy day.
She came back into the living room with the mugs, holding them from the handles. Mike raised an eyebrow at her and she noticed it. “What?” “Are you sure coffee is a good idea after I just had alcohol?” He disputed, taking the cup of coffee in his own hands. “Well, I don’t know what else you like, besides black coffee. You want me to get you anything else?” She hesitated, trying to grab back the cup of coffee.
Mike smirked at her, pulling the cup away from her grasp.
“No, no! It’s fine now. The damage is already been done.” He taunted, chuckling a little bit. “I’m going to be more hyper now, thanks to you.”
She rolled her eyes yet again, sighing at his teasing.
“How are your parents doing? Heard they were in prison…” Mike asked her, after a moment of silence. “I don’t know and I don’t care.” She shrugged her shoulders, carefully sipping her peppermint tea. “What did they do exactly? You haven’t told me about them.”
Allacia just looked at him with a sad look on her face.
“They were part of a gang. Not one that you’ve heard of though. My father was the leader of them and they were the cause of the mass shootings in Kingstown in the late 80s.” Allacia explained. “After they went into prison, I had no one to take care of me, not even a big brother or sister. I was like… 12 at the time.”
“Didn’t you like, go into an orphanage back then?” “Pft, you think the orphanage here in Kingstown took in a black kid, whose parents were big-time criminals back in the late 90s - early 2000s? Yeah right.” She scoffed, putting her cup down on the coffee table.
Mike felt sorry for her. He didn’t have a good childhood back then either.
“I’m sorry.” “Don’t be, that’s the way life goes. Of course, when I was in my early 20s… like 20-21, I went into some bad things.”
Allacia sighed. This was it. She was going to tell her about how she already knows Milo.
“You know about Milo right?” She mumbled to him.
Mike froze yet again. Did she use to work for Milo back then?
“Yeah… you worked for him?” Mike hinted, kind of already knowing what her answer was going to be.
All she did was nod.
Tears fell silently from her eyes as she tried to wipe them away. Mike wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into her chest.
She didn’t care, it was quite nice to be in his arm as she broke down. Her head was buried in Mike’s chest, his shirt was now wet from her salty tears. He patted her head, shushing her softly and trying to comfort her in some way.
“Hey. It’s okay. You know he can’t hurt you anymore.” He comforted her, rubbing her back with his other hand. He felt her nodding. She wouldn’t let go of his grasp.
“Not when I’m here to protect you.”
Allacia lifted her head to meet Mike’s blue-grey eyes. He stared back at her.
He then noticed she was fiddling with the sleeves of her sweater.
Was she nervous to be around him? Mike was nervous when he thought of her. His hands would shake slightly and he would adjust his suit every time she would enter his office or any other room he was in.
“Mike…” She would whisper to him. “Alli.” He would quietly reply to her, stroking her hair softly. “Thank you. For everything.”

Hello there! Can you help me find an alternative for Audrey Plaza? I was using her as my fancast for Merryweather for Sleeping Beauty, but after seeing her on Biden's letter, I am not comfortable using her. She should be in her 30s and I would ideally like her to be a woman of color, but I am open to whoever would be best. She should be able to work with Kathy Bates (Flora) and Naomie Harris (Fauna). Thank you, and keep up the great work! :)
Jana Schmieding (1981) Miniconjou Lakota Sioux and Sicangu Oyate Lakota Sioux.
Beth Ditto (1981) - is queer - is pro Palestine!
Jolene Purdy (1983) Japanese / English, Scottish, Irish, German, at least 1/8 Ashkenazi Jewish.
Nicole Byer (1986) African-American - "doesn't identify as straight" but doesn't like labels.
Evelyn Mok (1987) Hongkonger / Chinese.
Naomi Watanabe (1987) Japanese / Taiwanese.
Britney Young (1988) African-American / White.
Sophia Nomvete (1990) Black South African and Iranian.
Nabela Noor (1991) Bangladeshi - is pro Palestine!
Raven Goodwin (1992) African-American.
Raini Rodriguez (1993) Mexican.
Hey anon! As a fat person I think she should be cast as a fat person because she's clearly depicted as not thin so here are some suggestions. 💌

Bingung mau ngapain...
Orang yg pengen bgt aku chat malah gak bisa aku chat..
Mungkin aku kasih review film2 yang aku tonton belakangan ini sebelum mengenal kamu bisa meredakan kerinduanku... padamu.
#Review: Everything Everywhere All at Once
What’s wroooong with ya gal?

Anonymous asked: Great to see you back and posting again. I know you have a very British sense of humour and so I was wondering if you ever saw American comedian Dave Chappelle’s special ‘The Closer’ on Netflix? I don’t know if that is, as you Brits might put it, ‘your cup of tea’ but it has caused a huge flashpoint in the culture wars against wokedom here in the US. Appreciate your thoughts as a cultured outsider.
All humour is ‘my cup of tea’. I’m not sniffy where I get my sip of laughter brew. It can be drunk from many cups. I enjoy the literary ironic humour of PG Wodehouse, Anthony Powell, and Evelyn Waugh for example to other literary comic writing from Douglas Adams to Tom Sharpe. All very British I know.
But I also grew up in a family saturated on generations of Cambridge Footlights humour (Cambridge University’s famed comedy club) that partly spawned Beyond the Fringe, Monty Python, Not the Nine O’Clock News, Fry & Laurie etc. John Oliver also cut his teeth at Cambridge at the Footlights before he went over the pond to better things. I used to go to the ‘smokers’ (stand up comedy nights) as often as I could when I was a student there. I’ve gone to the odd comedy show but these days I may just listen to an audio especially when I am travelling a lot as I am on a plane for my work. But I love British comedy of Armando Ianucci and Richard Curtis & Ben Elton (the guys behind the Blackadder series) to new faces like Evelyn Mok (a Swedish-Chinese third culture kid).
Tumblr media
But I enjoy comedy in other languages for example in France I’ve relied on French friends here in Paris to take me to comedy shows to see Blanche Gardin, Florence Foresti, and Yacine Belhousse for example. And I’ve gone to great lengths to see Eddie Izzard - one of my favourites from behind the bars of my english girls’ boarding school days - do gigs in French.
I also love American humour. As I said, I’m not sniffy about which nation’s humour is better. It’s such a silly waste of time. If it makes you laugh then that’s as pure as it gets. Sure, I don’t like the mainstream canned laughter TV shows that you often see but then we have the same in the UK. But I love 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Brooklyn 99, Rick & Morty, Community etc. With stand ups I’ve enjoyed comedians who make you think whilst you’re spilling your guts out such as George Carlin and Bill Hicks. And of course I’ve also liked Dave Chappelle.
I got more than a few asks in my inbox about Dave Chappelle’s comedy special ‘The Closer’ and what I made of it. I really don’t want to focus on the toxic politics of this whole drama but focus instead on the nature of humour instead.
I did watch it on a plane on my lap top. I think the air stewardess in my business class flight thought I needed a sedative because I got a severe case of the giggles. I was trying so hard not to laugh out loud out of respect to the sleeping passengers near me. I just couldn’t help myself. I wet my knickers laughing so hard. Oh, was that too much information? Hmmm.
Overall I loved the show. The one part that did give me pause was when he told the heartfelt and tragic story of his transexual friend, Daphne, who took her own life because of either issues in her life or because of online bullying from her own trans community. He made that story funny and ultimately bittersweet. It would be inhuman not to relate to Chappelle’s pain in losing a friend and also the life story of Daphne herself. That whole story was very loving, compassionate, poignant. Oh and also very funny.
And yet in the fall out of the show, no one has talked about that. About Daphne in particular. Chappelle did more to humanise the transexual community to the mainstream with that one story than the shrill rantings of the transexual extreme activists.
Tumblr media
Dave Chappelle. Arguably one of America’s greatest living comedian. Hilarious and humane, brutal and true. It’s true I don’t get all the cultural references but what I love about Chapelle is his craft. This is an artist committed to his craft. He is a master at it. He himself said he laughs at the jokes of racist stand up comedians because he may not agree with the content he does respect the craft.
Do I agree with his politics or his views? No, not always. He can say cutting things about women, about white people, about the LGBT people, and just about everyone else. He makes fun of everyone. What is the problem here? It’s just jokes. Damn funny ones too.
I’m sure I don’t agree with his politics. But I don’t have to but I can laugh at his jokes because they are so beautifully crafted and have a ring of truth, otherwise it wouldn’t be funny.
Humour has been on the minds of thinkers for centuries. As Peter McGraw and Joel Warner explain in their insightful book, The Humor Code: A global search for what makes things funny,  “Plato and Aristotle contemplated the meaning of comedy while laying  the foundations of Western philosophy… Charles Darwin looked for the  seeds of laughter in the joyful cries of tickled chimpanzees. Sigmund  Freud sought the underlying motivations behind jokes in the nooks and  crannies of our unconscious.”
We tend to see comedy through the romantic lens of the  one-off inspired comic whose unique view of the world is entertaining.  But the focus on the individual witty voice misses the gigantic,  political nature of the task of comedy. Comedy isn’t just a bit of fun.
We don’t laugh at things unless they cause us very serious problems at  other points in life. We can see this in the standard category of jokes:  about relationships, family, sex, money, impotence, bowel movements, identity etc. We  laugh most readily around things that in other ways are very  distressing. A good joke invariably has a relationship with darkness,  anxiety and pain.
I’ve always valued humour in people as a precious gift. I love having a laugh and even more if it’s at my expense because I firmly believe humour should be an equal opportunity offender. Moreover what I love about enjoying a good joke is that one the singular properties of certain comedy when done well is the  freedom to explore ideas in an unconventional or counter-intuitive way,  to subvert society’s norms.
No one does that better than a comedian. No one does it better than Dave Chappelle. As the great George Carlin put it, “I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately.“
Tumblr media
Being British we’re always raised to enjoy making fun of ourselves and we enjoy nothing more than to see the self-righteous smug and the boorish taken down a peg or two. It’s just who we are. Most other Europeans are the same. I’m very sure this true elsewhere too if my many travels and experience of living in other cultures is anything to go by.
However I didn’t know the real importance of dark humour until I actually served in the British army and found humour as a form of therapy to deal with stress and situations of life and death with my army brothers and sisters. Our shared jokes were so extremely off colour and un-PC that we would dare not repeat them in polite and respectable company. But that kind of shared humour served a crucial importance as any soldier will tell you. By mocking dangerous things or the situations you might find yourself with others, humour can embolden us.
Dark humour helpfully paints what is potentially very frightening as deeply absurd and ridiculous. This was often when we junior officers would look at each other in confused bewilderment at the thinking and decision making of some of our clueless senior officers before we would lead our soldiers on a battlefield mission in Afghanistan.
The comic perspective fills a central need of every society; it enables  us to cope much better with our own follies and disappointments, our troubles around work and love and our difficulties enduring ourselves.  Comedy is waiting to be reframed as a central tool behind the creation  of a better world.
Comedy offers us a way of having a better  time around things which, otherwise, can feel pretty disastrous.  Ideally, in the utopia, comedy and its therapeutic potential wouldn’t be  left to chance. Humour would be deliberately cultivated as a benign  response to a range of entrenched difficulties. Previously, certain  countries had an elaborate carnival season devoted to enforced comic  activities. For a brief time, the weak could boss around the powerful,  priests and nuns were supposed to hold obscene rituals in their churches, serious people were required to get  drunk and throw bags of flour over each other’s heads. Humour wasn’t  just left to those who felt so inclined: it was a kind of duty.
One of the most enduring theories of humour arrived courtesy of the philosopher Thomas Hobbes. It asserts that humour is ostensibly about  mocking the weak and exerting superiority. While this is clearly the  function of some comedy – anyone who has flinched at a comic’s lame  attempt to poke fun at, for example, disability will attest to this –  it’s a relentlessly bleak and far from complete explanation of the  purpose of humour. It’s better for a comedian to punch up then down.
Tumblr media
It’s a charge that has been leveled at Dave Chappelle for his many jokes about different groups who have invested a great deal in their identity and also exert their own social and political power. But does he really do that? I don’t think so.
The mainstream media critics publicly hated his comedy special, but the ordinary audience overwhelmingly loved it (if rotten tomatoes metric score of 96% approval is anything to go by). It’s clear that many in the mainstream media had not really watched the show or gave an accurate account. Indeed the mainstream cultural critics in the US and in the UK prevented its readers from knowing that a debate was even happening, let alone what it is really about. If the argument about gender theory is mentioned at all, it is dismissed as a bunch of “anti-trans” bigots - aka “TERFs” - hurting a beleaguered and tiny minority, for some inconceivable, but surely awful, reason.
One of my favourite conservative writers (and who happens gay), Andrew Sullivan, also happens to be a leading scholarly authority on a little known British conservative philosopher, Michael Oakeshott, who was a huge influence in my thinking, Sullivan put it really well, as he always does:
“Chappelle’s final Netflix special, The Closer, is a classic. Far from being outdated, it’s slightly ahead of its time, as the pushback against wokeness gains traction. It is extremely funny, a bit meta, monumentally mischievous, and I sat with another homo through the whole thing, stoned, laughing our asses off — especially when he made fun of us. The way the elite media portrays us, you’d think every member of the BLT community is so fragile we cannot laugh at ourselves. It doesn’t occur to them that, for many of us, Chappelle is a breath of honest air, doing what every comic should do: take aim at every suffocating piety of the powers that be - including the increasingly weird 2SLGBTQQIA+ mafia - and detonating them all.
The Closer is, in fact, a humanely brilliant indictment of elite culture at this moment in time: a brutal exposure of its identitarian monomania, its denial of reality, and its ruthless tactics of personal and public destruction. It marks a real moment: a punching up against the powerful, especially those who pretend they aren’t. Bigoted? Please. Anyone who can watch this special and think Chappelle is homophobic or transphobic is either stupendously dumb or a touchy fanatic. He is no more transphobic than J.K. Rowling, i.e. not at all, and the full set masterfully proves it to anyone with eyes and ears.“
Tumblr media
It’s hugely reassuring to see the  ‘powerful’ laughing at themselves - in this case the LGBTQ+ community’s more shrill and self-righteous social justice warrior activists that brook no public criticism of their conduct against women and other critics who don’t have the power to fight back. It is a trusim to say that finding oneself comical is a token of  maturity. It means being able to see one’s faults, without being too  defensive about them. This, I argue, was one of the messages of Chappelle’s comedy show.
The thing that intimidates us isn’t  actually power. It’s power that looks like it’s going to be inhumane:  insensitive, unkind power. So we’re intently interested in things that  reveal a mature, kindly sort of power.
Humour often provides a mechanism whereby  the powerless (or at least the less powerful) can give constructive but  pointed feedback to the powerful. Whether the powerful - in Chappelle’s view that would be the trans and social just warrior crowd - can take social commentary masked as a joke says a lot about their level of maturity.
Humour, as one neuroscientist friend of mine put it, is a form of psychological processing, a coping mechanism that  helps people to deal with complex and contradictory messages, a response to conflict and confusion in our brain. Humour that is in bad taste or cruelly targeted at particular groups may  generate conflict, but humour is also our way of working through  difficult subjects or feelings. In this sense the comedian’s role is not validate our feelings but to make us think.
Tumblr media
As a classicist, I may be speaking outside my lane when I talk about medieval history (I would suggest pinging @oldshrewsburyian who is an actual medieval historian and the kind of professor who cares about her profession in these cynically consumer driven times (she also infectiously shares my love of bollywood and historical detective fiction). But as I understand it in olden days, the idea of the court jester –  in effect an officially licensed and salaried comic – was built on the importance  of humour to the mental health of the powerful. Even if in the council  room or around the dinner high table, the leading people didn’t feel much like joking, the jester was required to make barbed, witty and perhaps  mocking remarks to deflate pomposity and restore sane perspective. Of course a lot has changed. These days the high table may not be occupied by the feudal elites anymore but by an outwardly more egalitarian society.
Who can disagree with the fact that all of us - leftist, conservative, revolutionary, traditonalist, straight, gay, lesbian, bi, trans, colour, and creed - are not in need of our self important egos and the pompous bubbles they inhabit from being burst open from time to time?
If we live in a world where everyone demands equality, in other words to sit at the same high table, then we also sign up to be equally ‘offended’ by the court jester, however fair or unfair it may feel.
The shrill of cancelling a comedian is not the answer if we find a joke offensive. We have the right to protest because that is the flipside to our right to free speech. We can protest by...not laughing. It really is that simple.
I’ll end by saying you won’t get very far in life if you don’t learn how to laugh at yourself. So much of life will pass you by if you don’t stop and see how absurd one can be. I’ve always lived by that and those are the kind of friends I like to surround myself with. Because only self-centred narcissists take themselves seriously.

I am working on a character who happens to be a badass, all-muscle redheaded ancient Celtic werewolf lady... I wanna give her an epic name... do you have any suggestions?
I probably have far more than you need 😂 obviously “Celtic” can apply to many different places and cultures, but being Irish my expertise is with Irish names, so my suggestions will all be Irish. if anyone else wants to chip in with other names feel free, but I figure I’ll have enough to keep me going just with the Irish ones lol. ancient Irish names tend to be super impressive in terms of length, too, so have fun with that. it was also common to receive a name based on an obvious physical quality (beautiful, red-haired, tall, etc) or a quality you had/your parents hoped you’d have, so there’s lots of options to choose from here.
anyway, onto some Names™:
Aodhamair [ey-mir] -- meaning fire.
Aodhnait [ey-nit] -- meaning little fire.
Aoife [ee-fah] -- meaning radiant, beautiful.
Eimear [emer] -- in mythology, Eimear was the wife of Cúchulainn, perhaps the most famous of Ireland’s mythological warriors.
Éadaoin [ade-een] -- in mythology, one of the Tuatha Dé Danann, and said to be the most beautiful woman in Ireland.
Eibhlín [eye-leen] [ev-leen] -- Irish form of Eileen or Evelyn, meaning radiance.
Fachtna [fokt-na] -- meaning malicious, hostile.
Fianait [fee-nit] -- meaning little deer or wild creature.
Gráinne [grawn-yeh] -- could come from a word meaning grain, could also mean she who inspires terror; famously associated with Gráinne Ní Mháille, leader of a clan of sea-faring raiders (pirates, essentially), though if your story is set in ancient times it would be before this Gráinne’s time (?1530-?1600). still, a name with good warrior and badass lady associations.
Lasairíona [loh-ser-ee-on-ah] -- meaning flame, fire of wine.
Macha [mok-ah] -- in mythology, the goddess of sovereignty, often also described as a goddess of war.
Mór [more] -- meaning tall, great.
Niamh [neev] -- originally a term for a goddess, meaning radiance, brightness.
Ríonach [ree-na] -- meaning queenly.
Ruan [roo-an] -- meaning red.
Treise [tresh-eh] -- meaning strength.
these are all old names/old versions of the name, so they should all be fitting for ancient times!

Mok’s Mod List 2.0
Note that some of these mods require Content Patcher from the Nexus, and some mods listed need a bit of tweaking.
But thats not the point, the point is wanting to play Stardew Valley with Additions.
[cp] Babies Take After Spouse by Lakoria
What it says on the tin-- this mod lets your kids look like your kids! Its nice.
[cp] Dammit Clint Stop Hitting on My Wife by Rubecula
Tweaks Clint’s whole... thing to be closer to the whole “Guy with super bad social skills and anxiety about trying to talk to people”/”not really outgoing dude” and not so much “dude that literally watches Emily at her place of work and from bushes outside her house”/”Incel that you’d call the cops on if possible”. It correctly stops him hitting on emily when married to you. It makes him way more personable in terms of not setting off creep vibes. There’s a version available also of toning things down while being just friends.
[cp] Elle's Cat Replacements by Junimods
[cp] Elle's Dog Replacements by Junimods

Adjust Baby Chance by JertsukkaTheMan
Some of us want to start a game with the goal of having a family with an LI. Its nice, its cute etc. But sometimes the game just won’t make your spouse ask you about having kids. For years. So this mod lets you adjust the chance of your spouse asking.
All Professions by cantorsdust
Tired of only having one set of proficiency? Long to be a titan of farming? think its bullshit that you can’t master raising cattle AND growing potatoes? This mod unlocks both professions as you level things up.
Animal Sitter by jwdred
Let your pet feed, water, and care for your farm animals. Or have your spouse do it. Pay for it or don’t, set if animal things go in to your inventory or a chest. Is very good if you wanna have animals but also are bad at telling which you’ve pet and which ones you haven’t.

Lets you set the max number of children you and your spouse can have at a time.
Free Dusty by skuld
Freedom for the doggo! Allows Alex’s dog Dusty to wander the town with Alex or wait for him in places. Not great irl, very good in game with the alternative being a way too small yard.
Gift Taste helper by tstaples

Lets you set a birthday for your Farmer, because really, you should have one.

People now actually talk about the festivals happening around town! Like you know, normal people.
Instant grow Trees by cantorsdust
are you, too, impatient as shit? Want to have a syrup farm in a specific pattern but dont wanna wait? Get this and instant trees in the morning.
Kisekae by Kabigon [use Pathoschild unofficial update]
Like Get Dressed, this mod lets you alter the image of your farmer without having to pay the wizard. Why do you have to do dark magic for a haircut. It’s bullshit. So use this mod and get dressed up for festivals. The unofficial patch is on the compatibility page of the wiki.
Longjevity by RTGOAT
Adds more things to the game. Optional taxes, also adds more crops and clothing changes, and soda crafting. Can conflict with Seasonal Outfits, but can be worked in together.
Map image exporter by spacechase0
Screenshots are now less of a pain
NPC Map Locations by Bouhm
“Where the fuck are they?” a sentence of the past! Adds markers to the location of villagers and shows if they move.
Paririe King Made Easy by Mucchan and PathosChild
Spelling Prairie is hard, but the games shouldn’t be. Makes you functionally immortal bc that minigame hurts me.
Range Display by CatCattyCat
Displays a colored grid showing how far things cover. Scarecrows, beehives, and sprinklers. No more guessing where things reach!
Remote Fridge Storage by arjan3004
Fridge is tiny, is too small for mighty farming and foraging skills. Chest, though, chest is many and large together. Use chest as ice chest to store fridge, and cook with those things! No inventory management required.
Replanter by jwdred
Like Animal Sitter, but for the farm bit. Option for instant selling upon harvest. Also has option to put it into a chest for later.
Part of the Community by bmarquismarkail
Ever feel weird about the fact you never get to know people through, like, social osmosis? Like if you’re super good friends with Sam, he’s probably talked to his family and friends about you. If you’re selling all these things to people, and helping people out, shouldn’t most people at least know ur a chill person? This mod gives a couple points toward your relationship to the citizens for every festival, for every thing sent in the box, and if you talk to people in a room with others, they all get a point or five. It’s very useful for keeping relationships going.
SBM Black Roof by ??
Mod i used to make my house pretty, but i can’t find it anywhere.
Skull Cavern Elevator by Bifibi
Adds an elevator to Skull cavern, with option to change when the thing appears. No need to keep trying to not die every 10 floors only to need to do it again later.
Stardew Hack by bcmpinc
Basic thing that allows for below mod.
Wear More Rings by bcmpinc
You have ten fingers, why not so many rings? It would only make sense. So get your shinies on yall
Note 2: I have not included links in the post as links would make it not show up in the tags and thus would make sharing harder. Searching the Nexus modding website or the compatibility page will get you there.
