A psychic monster appears who can make people fall asleep and trap them in an ilusional landscape based on their deepest wishes. Why would anyone try to wake up when they're living their dreamed life?
Saitama isn't affected and quickly snaps out of the fake scenario.
Genos however falls for it. In his dreams, he's sitting in the kitchen of his old house with his parents and he's a normal 15 years old boy again.
OKAY BUT. BUT IMAGINE THEY BOTH FALL VICTIM TO IT, BUT SAITAMA COMES OUT OF IT FIRST BECAUSE FEAR FOR GENOS' LIFE
Like. Okay, so Saitama gets hit first, falls tf asleep. Genos knows he'll be ok, but there's no guarantee the city will be, so he tries to wake him up. And, unfortunately, Genos' calls of his name only become a part of the dream, too. Like a distant beckoning in Sai's mind that keeps him chasing after it in the dream.
Then, while Genos was attempting to wake him, *he* gets hit, and falls unconscious, soon finding himself in that memory of being a kid, still with his parents. The absence of his voice registers in Saitama's dream, and at first he just thought he didn't need to chase it anymore. Until he starts getting anxious about it, because Saitama's dream was largely centered around the domestix life he has with Genos, and the cyborg's absence set him on edge. *Then* he remembers why he's there, and snaps out of it after several desperate attempts.
He awakens, immediately searching for Genos, and when he sees the borg unconscious beside him, he's instantly going into Guard Dog Mode, which leads to the monster getting killed because it started getting too close.
He then takes Genos home so he can wake him up somewhere safe. Or, he wakes up once the monster dies. But either way, mayhaps Genos gets mad at Saitama after waking up because he "took him away from his family"? 👀

Tagged by @unfortunatelycake ! Thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
46
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
474,023
3. What fandoms do you write for?
One Punch Man
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
- Metallic Koala, 724 kudos
- We're just helping them, 766 kudos
- Egg x Toaster oneshots, 962 kudos
- Who Is She?, 1813 kudos
- Demon Cyborg's livestream, 2545 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I'm really bad at doing it, but I love every single one I've received! I guess I don't reply much because it'd mostly be me yelling 'thank you!!' over and over (I do mean it though!)
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't do true angst, but overall I guess it might be The Danger of Trust, in which Kuseno dies. I wouldn't call the ending angsty though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think practically all my fics have happy endings, most happy, hm... I think I will say the Old Boys series because it implies a long happy life together to get to the point of when the stories take place.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't -think- so, not on my fics specifically that I can remember anyway.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
It happens. Pretty standard stuff lol.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't think I've written any yet...
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've granted permission when asked, but I don't know if the translations were carried out.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly, but many of my fics come out of discussing an idea or concept with friends, using our shared ideas etc. When this is the case it'll say in the fic notes.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Saitama/Genos!
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Years ago I drew a vague monk/fire demon AU thing, which got a fair few likes. I wrote a chapter one for a story about but never could continue it - I don't -have- a rest of the story and it was so long ago that I wouldn't know where to start. I should probably post what I do have to the oneshot collection.
16. What are your writing strengths?
This is really hard for me to answer. I enjoy writing dialogue a lot and I think I'm decent at writing it in a way people actually speak, you know?
I also try very, very hard to finish what I've started. My unfinished WIPs are all things I've never posted, everything I've posted I've finished (or they are series without defined endings that can stand alone).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Rushing. This shows as poor grammar, typos, rushing through the story in general. I think "filler" content is tough. For the grammar, to some extent I'll also put the blame on english not being my first language.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Not something I typically do. It was a plot point in one oneshot that Saitama learned an english phrase to tell Genos, I think that's the only time I've done it. Although on that subject, it could be funny to write Kuseno and Genos talking in english over Saitama's head lol.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
OPM is my first and so far only.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Oh, that's tough, I'm very self-critical. I like some of my oneshots a lot, it can be fun to build a small story around a particular scene. Three Princesses or Drunken Friends for instance.
For separate works, I enjoy writing Old Boys a lot (and that one started in the Oneshot collection too, ha).

One Punch Man Manga Chapter 169 Review
Tumblr media
Advertisement It’s taken me quite a number of days to prepare this review because time hasn’t really been friendly. But I’m happy i was able to do it all the same. This entire chapter was flawless. It was the perfect conclusion to the Monster Association saga. It received a perfect 10/10 from me for drama, intrigue and substance. As we go through this chapter, let's take a look at it 15 pages at a time. 1A. We can conclude that we have reached the end of the first page. Garou had sensory ability as he stated he couldn’t sense any presence before he was punched. The reason this punch was so powerful was because it was a punch from the future. Saitamawho had grown in power exponentially. And so, the punch was far too lethal for that version of Garou who was yet to begin his mimicry of Saitama’s abilities. B. B. These were mostly C-class heroes and Tank top Master's disciples. 2. Genos connected to the future version of him from another timeline and plugged it in. He was flooded with memories. Since this core was held by the future version of Saitama(who’s not a cyborg), all through his battle with Cosmic Garou, quantum energy, bearing the memories of all that transpired in that timeline were imbued into it. And so, as the bodies of his future and past self merged, Saitama lost his memories of what actually transpired but Genos’ mechanical core retained them. I believe this is a summary of Genos’ ambiguous explanations of the theory of relativity with regards to the occurrence of this phenomenon. 3. It’d seem that Saitama wasn’t the only one who traveled back in time. Temporarily but Somehow, Garou’s spirit made its way back to the past alongside Saitama long enough to see and awaken Tareo. It’s unclear if this was meant to save his past self or if he truly missed Tareo and wanted to see him one last time. 4A. The next 15 pages explain the attack on Garou by the lower-ranking heroes. Although Garou didn't understand why he was so badly hurt by Saitama's single punch, he accepted the consequences of his actions. And although he was still clad with the power of god and obviously had the power to beat up the Heroes bullying him, he didn’t resist this assault but instead taunted them more with the sole intention of provoking them to kill him. It was likely that his past self orchestrated everything. B. He was unaware that Garou had been defeated because Saitama interacted in the past. The Heroes didn't know either. Flashy flash was the one who suffered from vertigo after sustaining injuries in the battle against Garou and platinum sperm. Though he saw a naked silhouette, he couldn’t make out who exactly that was. He concluded that it was Blast, when it was actually Saitama. 5. Manga chapter 113 is the story of Homeless Emperor's encounter with God and how he gained his power. In chapter 153, Homeless Emperor is killed by an unknown force. It was therefore not surprising that Zombie Man stopped an angry attack of Heroes on Garou to ask about his power and any connection to god. Similar to chapter 138. In chapter 138 Blast explained to Flashy Flash and Saitama about a mysterious being which communicates with people, and grants them special heavy cubes that give them power. This mysterious being is not other than God. And so this was why Flash was able to bring Blast’s mention of God to remembrance. 6. Tareo's quick intervention and King's timely intervention saved Garou from the wrathful hands of Sweet mask, who was determined to execute the Hero Hunter because of his crimes. Bang also commented that Garou wouldn’t be allowed to die that easily as he had to make atonements for the many crimes he committed. Saitama also supported this by saying that in the end, Garou’s goal to become ‘Absolute Evil’ only succeeded in exposing the goodness in his heart as he saved Bang, Genos and King from the hands of dragon level monsters in chapter 154. Though Garou escaped, Saitama had faith that he had changed for the best as he refuted Genos’ words that Garou was going to go back to committing crime. Going forward, he also had faith in Bang’s ability to rehabilitate his wayward disciple. 7A. Contrary to what happened in the webcomic, Metal knight and his army of robot drones suspiciously arrived when the battle was already over to clear the Nuclear Fallout that resulted from Garou’s Nuclear punches in chapter 165. He also directed the heroes present that they submit to immediate nuclear poisoning decontamination. It’s unclear what motive Metal knight has for choosing to join the battle at this time when he outrightly refused to join the mission to rescue Waganma, son of Narinki, founder of the Hero Association in manga chapter 86. Bofoi might have an ulterior motive. However, time will reveal the truth. B. It’s seem Z-city was completely destroyed during Tatsumaki’s battle with Psychos. It’s no wonder Saitama said once Dr Kuseno fixed Genos, they’d go to look for what is “left of their apartment”. It’d be interesting to see what happens from this moment forward as we march into the Neo heroes saga. We appreciate you reading our review. If you are able, please comment or leave a response. You can let me know if I missed anything important. We’ll be happy to inform us about this within the comments So write your comments down below. We appreciate you reading our anime blog. Hi, not sure if this had been asked before, but I'm curious about your opinion. Assuming he won't die during a battle, how long do you think Genos will live? I think a lot of people view him as some (semi) immortal being, who will surely outlive Saitama. But somehow I always thought the opposite, like isn't living in a combat cyborg body puts a lot of strain/stress on your brain? There's probably a significant brain disease development risk. I'm not a doctor or anything, obviously, just my thoghts 😅
Also, another similiar question: how long do you think it took Genos to fully adapt to his cyborg body and be ready to use weaponry?
No, it's not been asked before. This is the sort of question that really is above my paygrade to answer seriously, but let me take half a stab at it. Remember that I am oversimplifying a very complex subject matter horribly.
When you take all of life's insults out of the equation, and even inherent matters like genetic defects out too, then what governs ultimate age is a race between how long the fabric of our body lasts and how long our key tissues can self-renew for. The fabric of our bodies, the extracellular matrix that comprises the scaffold of our tissues is generally laid down ONCE! and then it just gets repaired as best possible but never renewed. Our lungs are generally good for about 110 years to give one example and likewise, our other tissues have a limit to how long they last. The other side of the equation, self-renewal, is especially critical for blood cells. When super-aged people die (110+ years), typically all their blood cells are found to be clones of what was literally their last hematopoetic stem cell. The upper estimate of how long a human being can live runs somewhere between 120 -125 years, but no one's been attested to have made it to 125 years yet (see note 1).
That's under perfect conditions. There are many many things that shorten lifespan. Trauma and infections are obvious ones, as are non-infections diseases, environmental exposure to harmful materials, and cancers, but chronic stress is a huge, huge life shortener. Whether it comes from the mere fact of being socially disadvantaged, difficult to resolve emotional or psychological distress, a sense of isolation, a sense of irrelevance (huge killer of older adults), a part of illness or starvation, ongoing financial difficulty, whatever its source, all of it accelerates ageing, depending on how intense, how prolonged, and when it comes into one's life. The right kinds of stressors can steal lifespan before one is even born, but again, that's outside the remit of this ask.
So, let's get to Genos. If tomorrow, his problems were to be resolved satisfactorily and he's in a good place socially, financially, and emotionally, how long could he live? A big part of that depends on what body he has. If he has 'only' his brain, then his life expectancy is on the order of 1 - 2 months as there's no possibility of renewing the all-important blood cells. But if that were the case, leaving the lab for more than a few days at a time would have been impossible. If he's built on the same sort of terms as Erimin and Destro (with just under a tenth of their bodies left), then he may have enough body to self-maintain and self-renew and then he'll have the regular constraints of a human life, barring any accident due to being a cyborg.
But there's more. Stress-wise, Genos has been burning through his lifespan at a terrifying rate. It doesn't help either that he grew up poor -- childhood poverty is a big thief of lifespan. Hard to say, but if things get better for him soon, somewhere between 50 and 70 years should be achievable, if nothing goes wrong. Which is not bad for a guy who was supposed to have died at 15.
And say what one likes, no one can accuse Genos of taking tomorrow for granted.
Asides
A reasonably accessible review on the matter https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-00070-1
The influence of childhood experiences last a lifetime https://www.nytimes.com/2001/05/07/us/nuns-offer-clues-to-alzheimer-s-and-aging.html
Increasingly, you'll not just hear of lifespan, but healthy lifespan, the length of time one can expect to live before experiencing life-limiting chronic illness. There, environment and social standing make a huge difference. For example, in England, people living in the least deprived areas can expect nearly 20 years more healthy life than those in the most https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/healthinequalities/bulletins/healthstatelifeexpectanciesbyindexofmultipledeprivationimd/2018to2020
A more popular (https://www.apa.org/monitor/2014/10/chronic-stress) and more scientific (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3428505/) overview of the influence of stress on ageing.
Finding a reasonable article on the influence of the extracellular matrix (the scaffold that makes up our tissues) on ageing and organ function that's neither woo nor excessively scientific eludes me for now. In the meantime: WEAR SUNSCREEN! EVEN IF YOU'RE BLACK! Your skin will not recover from the extrinsic ageing of sun damage and your future self will thank you.

Because Garou views heros and the popular as benefactors of suffering, I wonder that he'd think of S Class's backgrounds. Genos lost his family, home and body to a Mad Cyborg attack at 15. Tatsumaki's parents sold her to be experimented on. Zombieman was created in a lab and experimented on. Darkshine was bullied for being a wimp as a kid. Amai was bullied for being ugly and turned into a monster and used his new power to hide his face. They are both what he hates and what he fights to protect.
I think about this too. Probably that they took their trauma and let it turn them into the worst kind of people even though he’s like. You know. Or he’d just be blindsided by his own hatred to even consider these things. He sees what he’s doing is right and acts on that alone.

OPM Chapter 84, Update 125
As first published online
Translator: u/Mynthence
Title Page: In order to remain solitary, instead of in solitude.
Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5
Movements that are a perfect blend of attack and defense.
Even though it’s the same Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist the difference in degrees of completion are plainly evident.
The result is obvious.
Page 6
Fuu!!
Page 7 Page 8 Page 9
grab
Bwoh!?
Page 10
Ubuh!!
Page 11
Wh…what’s…with…
This flashy assault, it’s not like the damn geezer at all…
Page 12
N…not good…
My consciousness is fad…
No….I’m gonna die…
…….tsk!!!
Gwah!
Page 13
What’s with those weird movements
where did you learn them?
Like a beast
Not yet!
Page 14
If I can use the heroes that are unconscious as hostages, there’s still a chance!!
I won’t let you
Ugah
Page 15 Page 16
Bang!
I’ve taken care of all the monsters that came out of the hole
All that’s left is Garou
Page 17
There’s still some monster-like reactions but
Beep beep…
For some reason I can’t ascertain the exact number and location…
Will going through that hole take us to the Monster Association’s base?
The guys from the Monster Association…were they wiped out?
They’re useless…!!!
Page 18
I thought we brought enough forces to capture Garou alive but…
Demon Cyborg…to think that he would be this strong
Silver Fang is here too. With this there’s no chance to take him away…
But if I go back empty-handed after expending all these troops, I might be the next one to be eaten by Orochi…
Page 19
Garou will just have to break through this situation with his own power…
…but it’s hopeless…
Should I start thinking about how to live after leaving the Monster Association…?
Hey brother…if it was you…
Would you still be able to stand up with his level of injuries?
…if I was 60 years younger I could try
…probably
Alright! Just a little bit more!!!
Let’s finish this before the other heroes show up, Bang!
Indeed
Page 20
Gugi…
My arms aren’t working properly anymore…
That geezer Bang, going after his former number one disciple when he’s been weakened…how vicious is he?
Page 21
Not to mention that the geezer that’s beating me up with him is Bomb, the master of the Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist
For the leaders of the martial arts world to come at me two-on-one, do they have no shame or care for their reputations?
Even if I pretend to beg for my life to these guys, I’m sure the Demon Cyborg won’t let me go
In other words, in order to overcome this extremely critical situation, I need to kill all three of them
Page 22
That’s impossible.
Know the pain of my “number one disciple” Charanko
Garou!!
Page 23
Let’s play Hero!
Garou. You’ll play too, right?
Let’s play, let’s play.
Eh
Okay
Page 24
Introductory music
Justice Man has arrived!
Justice Man Kick
Ouch!
Hey
Page 25
That’s dangerous
What?
I feel bad for him
………………
Then you should play the part of the Monster
Justice Man Cross Chop
Woah
Why did you dodge
S, sorry Tacchan
I scratched up my hand
You’re the Monster. Why can’t you read the mood?
Hold Garou down
Okay
Page 26
Justice Man Kick!
I’ve defeated the Monster, Garou Poop Man~
What’s this, is it the thing they call a flashback?
This is a fairly private memory I’d prefer to not remember
This should be…Right…Tacchan…the popular kid in my class…
Page 27
Eh? What? Why are the boys fighting?
Did anyone call the teacher?
Garou’s going wild
Garou got mad, even though we were just playing
I can’t…stand it anymore…
What’s with him?
Tacchan
Fight me!
Huh? What are you saying?
It’s just Hero
Page 28 I don’t want to be the Monster anymore! It’s not fun! Fight me, and if I win, you have to promise that you won’t bother me anymore!
Sabuchin, Yochan, hold Garou down
That’s not fair…stop…let me go! I…
Ugh
Damnit!!
Woah, he’s snapped! Call the teacher
Tacchan, run away
Hold him down! Hold him down!
What’s going on?
Perfect timing. You guys help out too.
He got carried away because Taachan’s too nice
Gross
I heard Garou got pissed off at Taachan while they were playing Hero. (lol)
Seriously? What’s he thinking?
Poor Taachan
Page 29
Taachan would easily get carried away
Taachan was good at sports
Taachan liked bullying weak people
Taachan was popular with the girls
Taachan was a disgusting guy
Taachan was popular
I was the gloomy guy who was always alone
I didn’t have any friends
I hated popular people
Why did you go wild?
Teacher, Taachan always
I heard you got mad while playing Hero. Is that true?
They always make me be the Monster
You can’t even tell the difference between make-believe and reality!?
That’s not it. Everyone says it’s my fault because Taachan is popular…
You’re the one who went crazy! How will you take responsibility if the windows get broken!
NO!
Page 30
It’s not that I hate being the Monster.
Is it that I didn’t like Taachan being the Hero?
No that’s not it
I was sensing a crushing sense of unfairness through the Hero game. A game designed in a way that would let the popular kid who was loved by everyone to one-sidedly beat up the weak kid that no one liked.
You did something bad, so go apologize.
I’m calling your parents too
This wasn’t just bullying. The game that faithfully reproduced the children’s TV shows was accepted by the public. You’re free to play any role that you want in this game, but the role of the Hero requires the approval of all those who are playing, so naturally I never had a chance to play that part. And of course, a scenario where the Monster wins doesn’t exist to begin with, so I have to always lose.
Page 31
What’s Justice! What’s Evil! In the end, I get killed because of the majority! I can’t accept that! It’s unfair!
I can’t explain the reason very well but I’m angry!
I just want to let them know!
I want them to experience a weakling’s attack!
I want to deny the positions of good and evil!
Page 32
He’s going to fall
This is the end
Page 33
Like I’d let myself be finished off in a place like this!
Page 34 Page 35
What?
Page 36
Oh!
Page 37 Page 38
What’s with that power…
from that broken body!?
Page 39
Give it up Garou!
If you keep on going… You’ll really die!!!
Bang, above you!
Page 40 Page 41
Woah!?
Page 42
A monster!?
So there were still some left!!!
Page 43
!
Genos!
Bang, you saw his appearance just now!
He’s a monster now! He even has companions!
It’s okay if I shoot Garou down with him, right?
Page 44
Did you hear that!!?
I’ll take Garou away from here
You can crush everyone on the ground right now!
I leave the rest to you!!
???

Page 47 Page 48 Page 49 Page 50
What was that!?
Page 51 Page 52
Disaster Level: Dragon Giant Mysterious Insect Elder Centipede
Page 53
W…what….
Is this a living being !!?
Oh no!!!
We need to protect them!
Page 54
Here we go
Page 55 Page 56
So this is the source of the reaction from before…
It’s not that I couldn’t pinpoint its location…it was too big!
Page 57
To think that it could take a direct hit from the cannon and have no injuries
This is going to be a tough opponent…
That centipede is…
Page 58
What do you think you’re doing, butting in like that!
Just let Elder Centipede take care of things here
He is a great calamity that swallows up everything
I’m fascinated by that unstoppable destructive power
You’re not thorough enough Hero Hunter
Once you defeat an opponent, you need to make sure you finish them off
It seems that all those heroes lying down over there are still alive
Page 59
Well…don’t worry
Elder Centipede will end everything
!
Stop interfering!
Let me down right now!
Those are my prey!
Hey, quit struggling
Damnit! Go back!
I won’t forgive you!
Hahaha…why are you so mad.
It’s your fault for not finishing the job.
Also…it’s convenient that we can erase two S-class here.
For the Monster Association, S-class heroes are the biggest threat
Page 60
You also directly experienced it
…..
In any fight there’s something called compatibility
According to our adviser Gyoro Gyoro
Out of all the heroes there are only four who can stand up against the Elder Centipede
Page 61
The peerless one wielding the strongest psychic ability “Tornado of Terror”
The one whose hidden military strength can’t be grasped by even the Hero Association “Metal Knight”
Page 62
The strongest man on earth “King”
And…the top hero that pushed Elder Centipede to the brink of death two years ago
“Blast”
Page 63
They say that Elder Centipede decided to cooperate with the Monster Association in order to get its revenge on Blast
It’s eager to pull Blast, who doesn’t come to the forefront, back onto the battlefield.
But…Unfortunately, those two don’t have the ability to break through this current situation.
Silver Fang is without equal in regards to his strength in hand-to-hand combat, but that only applies to opponents that are of a size that can be affected by martial arts.
Demon Cyborg’s abilities are outstanding but
He shouldn’t be equipped with any weapons that can take on a giant insect beast
And his firepower can’t go beyond the capabilities of his weapons
That’s his limit
Page 64
They will definitely be destroyed
Here it comes!!!
Page 65 Page 66

Page 69 Page 70 Page 71 Page 72
What is that move
We have a special move that takes advantage of the opponent’s openings
We’re counting on you to distract it
It broken that super hard shell into pieces…!?
This is
The pinnacle of skill
Page 73

Page 74 Page 75
Oh….
Goaaaahhhh
!
Guh
Page 76
Oww…
We let down our guard
But it was effective
The shockwave is circulating throughout its body
Blow up into pieces you monster
It’s a super move that can only be pulled off once by geezers like us
I’m glad it hit
Thank you Genos
Page 77
It’s finished
Page 78
Hm?
Page 79
Seriously?
Page 80
This guy molted…!!!
And didn’t it get bigger than before!?
No way!
Page 81
We can’t beat this thing…!
If we have to protect the unconscious heroes at the same time…
What should we do!? Bang!
Even if we back off, it would probably come after us and…
It’s all residential areas outside of Forest Park…
If we leave, it’ll affect the civilians…
Page 82
Bang
I’ll fight it
I’ll hold off that centipede as long as I can so
Take the injured and escape
Page 83
Genos
Are you saying that you’ll fight that thing on your own?
I can’t agree with that…
You don’t need to push yourself. You know that you can’t win
You young ones have still have a future
Genos
Just don’t overdo it
Page 84
Is that…
Really okay?
Page 85
There’s no way
Page 86
That’s okay
Page 87 Page 88 Page 89
There’s no way!
Cannons don’t work on it!
Page 90

And the guy from yesterday

And Garou
Are all part of the Monster Association
This fight
Is unavoidable

That’s what it means to fight against them

Are you disgusted that you ended up being partially responsible for slaughtering those heroes?

That’s not it!
I’m just disappointed by this ending!!!
I…want to defeat them with my own power!
By doing so, I become the symbol of fear…!!
That’s the meaning behind the hero hunting!!!
The symbol of fear? You? Hahaha…
If you were to go back now, you would only end up getting stomped on together with the heroes.
Right now you don’t have the strength to go against Elder Centipede or the officers of the Monster Association.

And it’s turned around

Blast…?

If you want to fight against Blast again, come over here!
What’s wrong? Are you so scared that you can’t move!? You’re spineless!!! Hey, if you’re going to shit yourself, do it at home!
A weak little bug like you should go back underground and suck on your mom’s tits!!!
Page 119
King made it to the location in City S where Elder Centipede reappeared!!!
That’s good! King should be able to do something about this situation…
Yes…there are still several heroes in that area
And when I told him that they might become casualties from any fighting nearby
He told me “Give me any information that might provoke Elder Centipede”
He undoubtedly plans on luring the enemy to where he is and fighting it one-on-one
Page 120
When Blast severely wounded it, it escaped and ran away underground
I hope we can defeat it this time…
It was top secret information, but I relayed the information detailing the monster and Blast’s connection to him
Also, I told him that if the battle were to be prolonged or if they were to change locations, the damage to the surrounding areas would be tremendous
And what how did he respond?
Just one word: “Understood”…
Together with the reverberations of the King Engine
Page 121
Draw the enemy this way so there aren’t any more casualties…
If the enemy is wounded, finish it off before it escapes underground…
Finish it as quickly as possible…
Any attacks should be contained within a limited range…and no attacks that might knock the centipede into the residential areas…
That’s all

Saitama…you look kind of refreshed
What happened?
I kind of feel like I let off a lot of steam
Page 136
I had a lot of stress built up because you kept beating me in those games
So he was still pissed off
Well…I wanted to teach you that your way of fighting with only one style of attack isn’t good…
Saitama-sensei, I wish to ask you a question
What is it?
What do you think I am lacking?
Eh
Isn’t it power?
Page 137

Thank you very much!
Ahhhhhhhh….That’s no good…
You probably shouldn’t use Saitama as a point of reference, Genos…
Sensei’s fights show me the path that I should take

That is what I should aim for…
I will also reach that place

I’ve been looking at your posts for a while now and I love your Headcanons so much! I only made an acc today just to thank you for making these! Also I’ve also seen your A03 acc and read your fanfics there and I think you’re a great writer! I wrote a huge comment on one of your stories just rambling about how much I like your tumblr and works but I don’t think it sent cause I don’t have an A03 :( today I’m 15 and I was wondering if you’d make Headcanons for how you think S Class heroes would celebrate their birthdays (if that’s alright of course I don’t wanna make you do anything you don’t wanna) and also just a question, why don’t you do PPP headcanons at all? He’s an S Class Hero and I think he’s the only hero you skip out on. Other then that, keep making these headcanons cause they are great and inspire me for my own OPM crack storie book I created (Random One Punch Man Crack Fanfictions on Wattpad i only wrote one story there and only said it if you’re interested)
Thank you thank you thank you so much. I’ve already sent you a dm but I just wanted to say it again because I’m literally vibrating with happiness. Happy birthday <3.
Birthday Headcanons:
Terrible Tornado: Sticks a candle in a store-bought cupcake and calls it a day. She’ll go get her nails and hair done, buy herself a new dress, and just spend the entire time relaxing. Fubuki used to throw her parties when they were kids but she doesn’t really expect that from her anymore.
Silverfang: His disciples used to get together and throw him a surprise party every year. However, ever since the Garou Incident, Charanko will take it upon himself to fill the void somewhat and scrape together enough money to buy a cake (or the ingredients to make one) and a small gift. Silverfang can go both ways: he likes people but he can also be quiet and reflective. So, he has a great time regardless of whether or not he has a party and spends the day enjoying nature, meditating, and being thankful for living as long as he has.
Atomic Samurai: He’s not antisocial by any stretch of the word but he prefers to celebrate this day only with those closest to him. He and his disciples do something new every year and it’s always grounded and casual. Sometimes they’ll all go out to drink, sometimes Okama and Iaian will prepare a feast, sometimes they’ll have lighthearted competitions on who’s the best swordsmaster (with weird contests like who can balance their sheaths on their head the longest and who can catch the hilt of their blade after doing a backflip 3 consecutive times). Good times all around. However, if someone mentions Atomic Samurai’s age, he will sass them to oblivion.
Child Emperor: He doesn’t really plan to do anything out of the ordinary. It’s mostly just business as usual on his birthday. But after meeting Zombieman, however, he practically gets dragged out of the lab and into something special each year. Whether it’s a horror movie marathon, a late-night drive to catch a glittering view of the city, or just chilling and stuffing themselves on sweets, it makes Zombieman a little sad to see wasted youth knowing his life (and age) is as fucked up as it is so he tries to make the kid have at least a little fun the best he can. Child Emperor always has a great time and he now sees the importance of valuing youth and no longer shows shame in pausing his work and enjoying himself every once and a while.
Metal Knight: When he wakes up on his birthday, his alarm clock plays a little tune. That’s about it. He sees no real importance behind age or youth or seniority because as long as he’s at his height of intellect, nothing else matters. Gotta build them robots. It’s business as usual.
King: Holy shit. Shut the blinds. Lock the doors. Silence the phones. It’s game time, baby. Twenty-four hours of blue screen madness. He pigs out on chips, soda, buys himself a cake, and absolutely revels in solitude. He calls his mom each year and they talk for hours on end. She tells him how proud she is of him being a kickass hero and killing monsters and he dies a little inside each time but he loves her nonetheless and keeps up the facade for her sake. She sends him a card with a few coupons and a love-filled note about how much she adores him. He nearly cries each year upon receiving it.
Zombieman: He buys the best cigars he can find, cooks himself a massive T-bone, drinks an entire six-pack of beer, and reclines while watching crime movies. He wears sweatpants, polishes his weaponry, plays Mötley Crüe loud enough for his neighbors to yell at him for it, and just has a great time all by himself. He doesn’t really like parties or get-togethers and even sometimes has to take a break from Child Emperor. This is his day to recharge his social battery and sleep for seventeen hours. This is his day to get absolutely wasted on expensive alcohol and accidentally hotbox his own house. This is his day.
Drive Knight: Pretty much the same as Metal Knight. Whenever the clock strikes midnight on his birthday, a little tune plays in his processing unit and that’s about the end of it.
Pig God: Every restaurant in the damn country has a special on his birthday. He just goes around collecting free food, taking pictures with fans, and eats until he can’t eat anymore (which is a lot). The restaurants he visits have pictures of him eating their food on the walls; he’s become a bit of a indication that if he visits a somewhere to eat, the food’s gotta be bomb as hell. He doesn’t really do anything other than that. He doesn’t really strike up conversation or anything, he just eats in silent contentment and that’s enough for everyone to have a good time.
Superalloy Darkshine: He’s a fan favorite as well. Social media will be blowing up with birthday messages, he’ll be trending on whatever the OPM universe equivalent of Twitter is, and he’ll waste no time going out to meet his fans and spreading birthday happiness. He’ll eat cake, drink with strangers, share laughs and smile without stopping. People will give him little gifts and free food and he accepts it all graciously. Everyone’s invited. Good times all around.
Watchdog Man: This is one of the few days of the year in which he takes the day off from protecting City Q. He’ll just sleep a full twenty-four hours and resume his duty the next day like clockwork each year. Sometimes passerby will leave him little gifts on his podium like meats and dog treats but he doesn’t really take any of it since he’s really particular about what he eats.
Flashy Flash: On this day, he spends time reflecting on how much he’s improved since last year and adopts an extra-vigorous training regimen for the next twenty-four hours. One year, he climbed a mountain in sub-zero temperatures. Another, he ran across a saltwater lake without breaking the surface tension of the water. He spends it alone, occasionally has a drink, and that’s about it. Sometimes he’ll go out to have a nice dinner but that’s only on years he believes he’s deserved it.
Demon Cyborg: He doesn’t really care about his birthday. This makes Doctor Kuseno kind of sad because he believes that Genos is still a kid who deserves to enjoy his birthday like one. So, he does what he can to make the day somewhat special while also pertaining to what Genos could want. This is very hard because Genos never outright says he wishes for anything and that means Kuseno has to do a lot of guesswork. It varies year to year, but the best gift he’s ever given Genos was the sense of taste so the kid could eat birthday cake and enjoy it. Genos isn’t too fond of sweets, he much prefers fruits over cakes, but nevertheless, he was so happy to get one step closer to humanity that something malfunctioned in his head and his hands wouldn’t stop shaking for a whole week.
Metal Bat: Go hard or go home. This fuckin kid pulls an all-nighter with Zenko on the weekend of his birthday to stay inside, build a pillow fort, and play video games. They order pizza, do prank calls, play fighting games, and when the sun comes out they get a couple hours of sleep before riding out again at the height of a sugar high to go to the local carnival (he’s a summer baby) and spend a paycheck’s worth of cash. Once they come home, they collapse in Bad’s bed together, curl up, and fall asleep to some movies.
Tanktop Master: He and the Tanktop Gang have an all-out birthday bash. Everyone and their grandma is invited. There’s food, alcohol, and sports playing on the television in the host’s house (each of them take turns every year). The first few hours of partying, everyone’s having lighthearted fun and watching sports and drinking lightly (Tanktoppers drink responsibly). After that, everyone kind of calms down and they all gather around in the living room and sit on the floor together and just talk about what a great year it is to be alive. They catch up, share stories, eat snacks, and wish Tanktop Master the happiest of birthdays. He absolutely adores spending time with his friends and gives a toast to everyone and their hard work. After that, he goes home and calls his mom before going to bed.
Puri-Puri Prisoner: He and his boyfriend share a slice of birthday cake from the prison cafeteria with a single candle stuck into it. His boyfriend gives him crochet and knitting lessons, they and the other prisoners dance to some music, and the guards give him a pat on the back along with some birthday wishes. That’s about it. There’s only so much he can do in prison, but he makes it work with what he has and has the time of his life nevertheless. Angel Hugs all around.
And to answer your question about PPP, I straight up just forgot he existed akshshshs. I’ll be brainstorming some stuff about him soon. Love you lots 💞💞💞💕

DEATH BATTLE Review: Genos vs. War Machine
So I only recently remembered that my other preferred opponent for War Machine was Steel from DC, and that I still wanted Genos to fight Cyborg.
So throughout the episode proper, Wiz pronounces Genos as “Jen-Os” while Boomstick says “Gene-Os.”
Genos’ Preview.
So to start off, Genos was an ordinary kid until his family was killed by a rampaging robot cyborg. However, he found a scientist who rebuilt him into a cyborg as well, allowing Genos to fight back and take his revenge.
Tumblr media
However, Genos would soon meet Saitama, and train under him to learn more after nearly dying to a mosquito lady that Boomstick openly expresses is very attractive.
Tumblr media
Regardless, the two became friends, and Genos was very popular due to his appearance and attitude.
But in order to fight giant monsters and evil dudes, Genos would need a lot of weapons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of his weapons, like his adhesive from the heels, were built-in as a response to other threats.
Tumblr media
Genos is also equipped with special sensors in his eyes that let him track heat and image signatures.
He has a wide assortment of weapons, like detachable body parts, missiles, and incinerator cannnons.
Tumblr media
And when he wants to get really serious, he blasts foes with two of them at once.
Tumblr media
Unib- I mean, uh, Spiral Incineration Cannon!
He’s got a stronger one that I unfortunately didn’t get a screenshot for, but yeah. It’s strong.
All of this leads into a Wiz and Boomstick segment where they finally fixed Boomstick’s smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adding on, Genos once used his incinerator cannons on a mountain, which resulted in a blast worth over 66 kilotons of TNT.
Tumblr media
He’s even managed to tag and track a massive meteor, which means that he can move 200 times faster than sound.
Tumblr media
And remember the mosquito lady?- Her swarm of mosquitoes once covered Genos completely.  While that may not sound intimidating, he was swarmed by nearly 65 Trillion of those things. Which equates to 358178 tons of mosquitoes. I doubt that there’s a masochist that would still want to get it on with the bug-lady if those are her party-mates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But regardless of his weakness of his power core being the one thing that fuels everything, Genos has shown time and time again that he can compete with the best.
And Boomstick provides a nice little heartwarming moment that while Genos hasn’t found his family’s killer yet, he’s found a new family with Saitama and friends. And that he’ll keep getting stronger.
Tumblr media
Y’know, I forgot how much of an edgelord he could be before he met Saitama.
War Machine′s Preview.
So right off the bat, we go into a brief backstory about Colonel James Rupert Rhodes and how he wanted to be in the military annd wound up helping out Iron Man, so Iron Man helped him back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eventually, Tony offered Rhodes a suit of his own and Rhodes became War Machine.
Tumblr media
Worth noting: Boomstick absolutely gushes about the amount of weapons Rhodes has on deck. It’s kinda nice to see him going back to his “Lover of weapons” persona rather than his “pervvy redneck” one.
Anyways, Rhodes has a massive amount of weapons, including a powerful beam that he can fire from his chest. Spiral Incin- I mean, Unibeam!
Tumblr media
And all this talk about weapons leads into our next Wiz and Boomstick segment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Real men wear pink… Except for Dan. Dan just sucks.
Regardless, the hosts go over how Rhodes has gotten multiple suits, each stronger than the last.
Tumblr media
The latest one comes equipped with camo and Ghost tech, allowing Rhodes to turn invisible and intangible. Making him immune to most attacks.
And should the suit ever be in danger of falling into the wrong hands, Rhodes can detonate it. I guess that’s a thing this episode since Genos can do the same thing.
Tumblr media
Also worth noting is that since Tony isn’t one for half-measures, Rhodey’s suit is just as strong as the Iron Man suit, just not as maneuverable what with all the weapons. This means that it can scale to Tony’s suits in terms of strength. What does this mean?
Tumblr media
It means that he can survive massive blows.
Tumblr media
This one in particular was worth over 2.5 Megatons of TNT.
And despite the lack of maneuverability, the suit is still fast. In a short ammount of time, Rhodes managed to get into orbit. This means that he was moving at over mach 600.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rhodey’s PTSD can make it hard for him to keep his head on straight in a fight, but when it comes down to protecting the people, his friends, the planet, or even just punching some dictator in the face, he’s always going to power through.
Also, remember how in Iron Man vs. Lex Luthor, Iron Man’s end quote was just him showing off his weapon?
Tumblr media
Same verse as the first it seems.
The Battle Itself.
RT 2D Animation team on deck for this animated fight (directed by Jordan Battle), Genos will be voiced by Howard Wang and War Machine will be voiced by Mark Allen Jr. Therewolf made K.O Computer , and audio by Chris Kokkinos.
So, Rhodes is basically taking a nice flight when an explosion interrupts him and makes him spill some of his coffee. Credit where it’s due, he takes it more in stride than when Leonardo lost his food.
Tumblr media
So, after confronting Genos, the Demon Cyborg determines that War Machine is another cyborg. Lack of credit where it’s due: He jumps to conclusions just as fast as Jason did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, right off the bat, it’s fairly clear that Rhodes has some advantage in at least one area. As he was just able to catch Genos’ punch with ease. It’s either in strength or defense.
More likely to be defense because Genos’ Incinerator cannons don’t really do much against the War Machine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we get a really nice fist clash, and with Rhodes keeping up, he may either match speed or surpass it.
Tumblr media
He certainly takes tech. He was able to find some flaws in his opponent that Genos simply can’t counter.
But credit where it’s due: Genos doesn’t go down easy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We cycle back into another punch clash right before the fight is brought back down to the ground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rhodes turns on his invisibility and Genos, well…
Tumblr media
He can’t find him. Genos believes that he went home, but then he makes the mistake of insulting the tech, which ticks off Rhodey.
So Genos retaliates by rendering the invisibility useless with his adhesive making Rhodes visible enough to hit, which Genos follows up with…
Tumblr media
Rhodes  counters…
Tumblr media
God I love Beam Struggles. Genos kinda wins this one and gets a bit overconfident. But…
Tumblr media
Rhodes was still standing.
Anyways, Genos starts spamming an attack.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like… You know that one scene in the Days of Future Past HISHE where Mystique just tries to shoot Trask but it doesn’t work? Yeah, this is pretty much like that.
So Rhodes escapes the glue trap and starts his attack.
Finishing Blow in

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Verdict + Explanation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so right off the bat, Rhodes was just a better Genos.
Tumblr media
Experience was obvious. Rhodes has seen way more than what Genos has, and that’s before putting on the suit.
Genos knocking around the Elder Centipede is impressive, as it clocks in at about 725 meters, and the amount of force to knock it around would be over 15 Megatons of TNT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Rhodes has taken on far stronger and dealt way more damage.
Tumblr media
Tony-Designed suits can bust up mountains, and those feats are worth over 280 Terratons of TNT. And yeah, they made a typo here. Better start asking questions or telling them to fix this. Pretty sure that it doesn’t matter in the long run, but still.
Rhodes was also way faster.
Tumblr media
And even if Genos could get in a hit, he’s got no counters for the massive amounts of tech that Rhodey has at his disposal, like energy draining tech or “Ghost Chameleon” mode as Boomstick put it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall impression.
So the previews go by pretty fast, essentially glossing over backstory and personality, and focusing on each character’s stats feats, and arsenal. Which, while I’m not against, kinda makes this episode feel really fast-paced with little room to breathe between each stat. This, while being an interesting way to show the character off, makes it really hard to keep up with what each character can do and what they have at their disposal. In comparison to the previous episode, where they do have room to breathe between each stat, these characters seem as if they are only analyzing their stats and nothing else.
It just seems as if this was written in a rush is all. Trying to get as much information out as possible, and that rush job is pretty apparent when you see those typos.
Not to mention that the animation felt a bit repetitive in certain parts. Like the punch clashes. I like those and all, but there’s a reason why the Jotaro vs. Kenshiro one is a better one. It’s because the punches actually clash. Heck! Even the Venom vs. Bane punch clash was better.
Also, it seems odd that they chose this battle to be a hand-drawn one. I’m pretty sure that there are plenty of fan-made Genos sprites or even official ones too. Not that it isn’t spectacular or anything, I’m just kinda curious.
Also: I was looking around in the comments section, and there are a lot of comments about audio. Maybe it’s because my mother could surpass Sindel’s loudest scream when watching Basketball, but I didn’t notice anything. Maybe you did.
7.5/10. Great fight, just a weird one…
Next Time…
Y’know, maybe I should start watching one of these.
Tumblr media
I mean, I wasn’t interested at all in Yu Yu Hakusho until Hiei made his debut, and now I’m pushing for Krillin vs. Kuwabara (People who think that Krillin vs. Saitama is a good fight should honestly just admit that they want a baldy battle and be done with it).
Is there a fight that you want me to review? - Send an ask/request, and I’ll look into it!
Do you want to read my fanfic based around DEATH BATTLE itself? click here!
Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you next time for…
From what I understand, a missed opportunity for Icy vs. Elsa.

Toonami Weekly Recap 10/19/2019
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba EP#02 - Trainer Sakonji Urokodaki: Tanjiro continues to make his way to Mt. Sagiri, carrying Nezuko in a clothed straw basket on his back during the day. That night, they encounter a demon feeding in a temple, who attacks Tanjiro. Tanjiro barely manages to fend him off, but Nezuko manages to decapitate it with a kick. Tanjiro manages to pin the demon's head to the tree using his axe and pushes its still-alive body off a cliff. An old man with a tengu mask approaches the siblings and orders Tanjiro to kill it, but he hesitates until daybreak, where the sunlight burns the demon to ash. The man, revealed to be Urokodaki, worries that Tanjiro's kindness and weak resolve will be his undoing should he become a demon hunter, but nevertheless brings him and Nezuko to Mt. Sagiri. Urokodaki leaves the sleeping Nezuko in his cabin and brings Tanjiro to the peak of the mountain, ordering him to return by daybreak, as a test to see if he is fit to become a demon hunter. However, the test may not be as easy as it seems as the mountain road is filled with booby traps, greatly slowing his progress, coupled with the fact that the air is extremely thin. Tanjiro manages to use his keen sense of smell to detect the scent of the traps and evade most of them, allowing him to return just in time. Urokodaki recalls a letter sent by Giyū requesting that he train the siblings, and acknowledges Tanjiro.
One-Punch Man 2 EP#02 (14) - The Human Monster: During the meeting, Garou insults both the heroes and the villains, saying that he is on the side of monsters and declares everyone as his enemy. He beats up everyone using his martial arts skill except Sitch as a message to spread the word of Garou. Meanwhile, Saitama is at his house playing video games on the PlayStation Portable that he stole from King, while Genos is doing chores when Genos hears a knock on the door. Genos opens the door to see Speed O Sound Sonic trying to find Saitama to fight him. While Genos and Sonic fight someplace else, Fubuki, going by Hellish Blizzard, is the B-Class Rank 1 hero who tries to persuade Saitama to join her faction. Fubuki fails to convince Saitama, and orders her underlings to attack him, but Saitama easily beats them in one punch. Fubuki uses her psychic abilities to seemingly defeat Saitama, but Saitama remains unfazed from her attacks. He then berates her for surrounding herself with underlings, as she thinks that if she's surrounded by underlings she would be stronger. However, he tells her she would eventually face a villain that would be stronger than her and her underlings. Saitama proclaims that factions are useless, and warns the esper to never insult heroes ever again. Fubuki ignores his lecture and tries to attack him again, but Saitama sees Sonic and Genos fighting behind her and an imminent explosion. When the explosion clears, it is shown that Saitama saved Fubuki from the blast while remaining unscathed himself. During the scuffle, it seems that there is no clear winner as Sonic is too fast while Genos is way too durable. Genos tries to create a huge explosion which would knock out Sonic, but Saitama knocks Genos down, reminding him that if he made the explosion, it would have destroyed Saitama's apartment. Saitama then challenges Sonic, and hilariously counters Sonic's shadow clone move with Killer Move: Serious Series Sideway Jumps (by side jumping really fast). Sonic is shocked, and in the moment Sonic passes through the after images, he crashes to the ground, badly bruised and defeated, while Fubuki watches the whole thing in awe of Saitama’s ease of defeating such an obviously powerful opponent. Later in Saitama’s apartment, Fubuki reveals that she is the younger sister of Tatsumaki, S Class Hero Rank 2 known as Tornado of Terror. Due to Tatsumaki being overwhelmingly strong compared to her, Fubuki gathers underlings to be stronger. Genos asks why she doesn’t strive to be Class A Rank 1, but Fubuki says she can't because Amai Mask is Class A Rank 1, and he is too strong. Elsewhere, Amai Mask brutally kills a monster named Suppon, emphasizing her point. Fubuki also says that she would never be Rank Number 1. Fubuki tries to convince Saitama one last time to join her faction, but Saitama refuses. Before Fubuki could insult him, King arrives to retrieve his video game. Fubuki is shocked to be in King’s presence, while Saitama tries to explain that he accidentally destroyed the PSP as well as erased King's saved data. The Hero Association gives Saitama the hero name Caped Baldy because of his appearance, while Genos is named Demon Cyborg due to his aggressive attacks. In the closing scene, Garou defeats Tank Top Vegetarian in an alleyway.
Dr. Stone Kingdom of Science Arc EP#09 - Let There Be the Light of Science: During their ramen patronage, the gang are approached by Gen Asagiri, a magician from Senku's time, who had been sent by Tsukasa to confirm Senku's death but claims he will give a false report instead. Using the successfully completed iron, Senku takes advantage of a sudden thunderstorm to turn it into powerful magnets. While Gen uses his street magic to ward off a violent villager named Magma, the gang use the magnets to build a power generator which they manage to convince Kinro and Ginro to operate, leading to the reinvention of the lightbulb.
Fire Force EP#12 - Eve of Hostilities in Asakusa: The fire fighters, including Company 8, commence reconstruction of Asakusa following the destruction by Benimaru, and relations improve between the two companies. However, the White Hoods dupe Benimaru into believing that Obi and Hinawa are creating Infernals and he attacks them. Obi and Benimaru fight each other to a standstill, and Konro risks his life to stop Benimaru and forces him to listen to reason. As Koro recovers from his injuries, he tells the 8th the story of his injuries. He suffers from tephrosis, permanent damage inflicted his body, after he exceeded the limit of his pyrokenesis when he saved Benimaru from a powerful Infernal.
Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Training Camp Arc) EP#15 - The Man Called "Carnage”: As the students make their way home, Shinomiya decides to return to France to make his restaurant the best in Paris, while the other alumni explain how the training camp also serves as a recruitment ground to determine potential for future employment. Soma ends up missing his bus and has to hitch a ride back to school with Erina, who explains the next event, the Autumn Festival. Returning to the Polar Star Dormitory, Soma is surprised to see his father, Joichiro, who is revealed to be an alumnus and former member of the Elite Ten who went by the name Jouchirou Saiba. As Joichiro treats the returning residents to a meal, Fumio explains that Joichiro and Dojima were once fellow Polar Star residents who were responsible for many of the luxuries the dorm has. It is also revealed that Erina has fond memories of Joichiro as well. Later that night, Joichiro tells Soma about his campus memories, filling him with more determination. The next morning, Joichiro challenges Soma to a cooking battle.
Lupin the 3rd Part 5 EP#18 - Fujiko's Souvenir: One day, Lupin finds his hotel room's toilet clogged. The resulting sanitary restriction, their need for secrecy, and Goemon's strict preference for Japanese cuisine creates friction among Lupin's gang, which is not helped when Fujiko unexpected appears, apparently let in by a drunk Lupin the previous night. While they wait for the plumber, Fujiko begins to act secretively about the bathroom, and they suspect one of her usual schemes against them. The situation becomes more complicated when a passing Zenigata is attracted by the smell of Goemon's cooking and pays a brief visit. In the end, it transpires that Fujiko had dropped by for a special anniversary between herself and Lupin, complete with a gift which she hid in the toilet's water tank, inadvertently causing the blockage.
Black Clover: Elf Tribe Reincarnation Arc EP#91 - Mereoleona vs. Rhya the Disloyal: Yuno learns from a defeated mage that the Midnight Sun is planning to be reborn into their true forms. Asta encounters a clone of himself causing confusion, until Mereoleona sets them both on fire, exposing Rhya as capable of using Copy magic to recreate the spells of other mages. He attempts to use Yami's Darkness magic but Mereoleona sets his spell on fire then punches him in the face. Elsewhere, Mereoleona's brother, Fuegoleon, appears to almost awaken from his coma. Mereoleona's power proves to be a match for Rhya's multiple magic's, even with his third eye activated. Zora reveals that Mereoleona spends most of her time living in the wilderness and has grown impossibly powerful by absorbing nature's magic. Furious, Rhya summons a copy of Asta's Demon Slayer Sword, but it is easily destroyed by Mereoleona as it was merely a copy of the sword and contained no Anti Magic. Mereoleona reveals she can use a powerful ability, Mana Zone, to completely control all the magic within a defined space, and annihilates Rhya, shocking Asta who knows from experience how powerful members of the Third Eye are. Elsewhere, Yuno's skill leads Mimosa to suspect Yuno is also capable of using Mana Zone. They follow the sound of a powerful heartbeat and find a mage floating within a sphere of light.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind will premiere its English Dub on Toonami this Saturday at 2:30 AM.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
thank you my love!! ^v^
(lmao i finally did it @solienna... it’s been like months but i finally completed this. also if you’re wondering, when i first tried to answer the original ask, it wouldn’t save any of what i’d written as a draft, so i just started a new post lol)
1. three songs that come up when you put your phone on shuffle
Flaws (acoustic) by Bastille
Wait For It from Hamilton
Here Comes the Rain Again by Eurythmics
3. three songs you were recently obsessed with
World in my Pocket by The Unlikely Candidates
The Darker the Weather, the Better the Man by MISSIO
Walk Me Home by P!NK
8. three songs that remind you most of summer and vacation
this is probably a weird choice but The Kids Aren’t Alright. I honestly don’t know why, it just gives me summer vibes.
Taste by Sleeping at Last (probably bc i listened to this A LOT while playing stardew valley and stardew gives me summer vibes)
Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy
(this section was so hard.... there are like 0 songs that i actually associate with summer and vacation. literally the only way i do is if i discover said song and listen to a lot around the time summer starts)
11. three favourite songs from movie or TV series soundtrack
What’s Up Danger By Blackway & Black Caviar
I’m Still Standing by Taron Egerton
The Cyborg Fights (Genos’ theme from One-Punch Man. It’s an instrumental piece, and it goes off).
12. three favourite songs from video games
i fucking hate you adri, so much, i never listen to video game soundtracks, you fool, i have nothing to offer you
Klavier’s theme from Ace Attorney! Called Guilty Love lmao
I played Night in the Woods recently, and I think my two favourite pieces were Astral Alley (it plays during a dream sequence and i literally fucked around doing nothing for a bit just to listen to this. It’s so peaceful, but there’s something also... wistful or sad about it, that i just love.)
and Dusk Stars! (That one plays while stargazing with a professor as a sidequest and tbh it was one of my favourite parts of the game. Surprisingly wholesome, and the last bit really struck a cord with me.)
13. three songs you want at your funeral
Saturn by Sleeping at Last
I Lived by One Republic
Pieces by Harbor and Home (low-key this song is practically a narrative for my life and for once it’s just comforting)
14. three songs you want at your wedding
Bright by Echosmith
Lovesong by Adele
Meaning of Life by Kelly Clarkson
(i don’t.... listen to happy love songs.... i was just going through my library of romantic songs and i was like “this is too pop, this is too angsty, this is pre-relationship, etc. etc”.)
15. three songs you want to dance with your love to
Fly Me to the Moon
Turn Time Off
Anna Sun by Walk the Moon (tbh this song gives me a very specific image of like moving into a new home with my lover and this song is playing while we’re unpacking, or even just any high energy song, and we end up pausing unpacking long enough to dance silly together and sing the song and it ends with us like hugging with a peck for good measure and life seems so good and perfect)
18. three songs that remind you of your best friend
Budapest (legit bc she showed me this song and was like “i think you would like this!” and you bet your ass i would love that song even if it was trash)
Another Night on Mars
Trouble is a Friend by Lenka (why? i legitimately don’t know. Especially since she’s the sweetest and most peaceful person ever. Then again she is a junkrat main.... never mind it makes sense)
19. three songs that are your guilty pleasure
Waters of Megalovania
Jessie’s Girl (this is like. the quintessential chad complaining about being friend-zoned, but i jam out to it every time, and im sucker for jealousy and unrequited love)
I Don’t Even Care About You by MISSIO for the days when im angry or having a bad day or more annoyed than usual at people trying to interact with me, and I just want to indulge in my old cynicism and hatred of the world in general
20. three songs that remind you of the person who sends this one
False Confidence by Noah Kahan
Hate That You Know Me by the Bleachers
Happy by Marina and the Diamonds
21. three songs of your childhood
oh boy adri, i was an angsty kid. I also tried to keep this specifically to songs I listened to before the age of ten just bc in my head my childhood was pretty much from the ages 3 to ~9, and honestly corresponds to a very specific period in my life
Because of You by Kelly Clarkson
Pieces by Sum 41
Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
22. three songs you listen to when you’re sad
All We Do by Oh Wonder
All the King’s Horses by Karmina
SoLow by Keegan Calmes
(this selection was actually hard bc there are... a surprising amount tbh and that probably isnt a good thing lol)
23. three songs that never fail to get you pumped up
How Far We’ve Come by Matchbox Twenty
High on Humans by Oh Wonder
Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon (to the surprise of exactly no one. This song came out five years ago and it’s STILL my feel good song, even when i feel terrible)
(this was also a hard choice because i got so many feel good, pump me up songs as well, which i guess??? balances out the amount of sad songs i know and love??)
24. three favourite old songs
lmao how old are we talking here? early 2000s? before that? 1950s? i’ll just go with some goodies
Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer (OKAY SO. this is low-key an all-time favourite of mine and that i relate(d) to a LOT as the person he’s singing about.)
Africa by Toto (damn fucking right im putting it adri!!!)
For What It’s Worth by Buffalo Springfield
26. three favourite non-English songs
Alles Neu by Peter Fox (for once not a lyrics video, bc the official video is part of the Experience for this song)
The Narrow Street by Shin-Yong Woo (aka Jumin’s voice actor. This is simultaneously a huge mood, and gives me feels for my husband)
Little Traveler by clear (the only vocaloid song i know! im truly a sucker for The Little Prince though, the novel that inspired this song)
(be proud of me adri, this section could’ve been nothing but japanese songs, a good portion just from anime.)
29. three songs that influenced you most (some songs change or save lives)
im not gonna lie, a lot of these songs were kind of taken by the childhood ones but lemme see if i can scrounge up any others
In a Big Country by Big Country
Stand by Rascal Flatts
Better Get to Livin’ by Dolly Parton
(As you know, I listen to the first one A LOT, pretty much every time I get into sad mood and want some comfort, but the other two, i sort of forget about, even though i remember these songs being super important to me when i was younger. And re-listening to these now is... kind of crazy tbh, and bringing up all sorts of memories. I will say, perhaps i should give younger me more credit for how hard she was trying to heal and be a better person, just based on these songs lol)
30. three songs you really want your followers to know (for reasons other than all those above)
Lemme see, im gonna give you guys some songs that I internally categorize as late night songs. The songs that make you feel like you’re listening to it at 2 am on a Saturday night, and reality feels just a little bit shifted, and everything feels deeper, more meaningful
Sloppy Seconds by Watsky
Shrike by Hozier
Hurricane by Reuben and the Dark
Sunflower by Post Malone, Swae Lee
+Bonus. Three songs I can listen to, no matter what my mood
Muscle Memory (Acoustic) by Lights. No joke, even on days where i feel like any song is going to irritate the fuck out of me and im sick of listening to music and the emotions they evoke, i can listen to this and immediately feel better
It’s Alright by Mother Mother (legit whenever it shows up in my recommended i smash that mf play button no matter what. it’s like one of, if not the only, song that matches the screaming in my head.)
You’re Somebody Else by flora cash (same as the two above tbh)

A Long Collection of inessential Genos, Saitama, and GenoSai headcanons that gradually get more chaotic
Individual Headcanons:
Saitama has no connection with his parents whatsoever. He practically raised himself. And, as a result, he hasn't had much of a childhood, and he isn't as knowledgeable as he should be about certain subjects due to lack of role models to teach him (projection go brr)
Genos initially learned how to cook si he could provide for Kuseno whenever he stopped by, because he secretly always felt bad for being a "burden" and for distancing himself from the man for the first 1 1/2 years since becoming a cyborg. He and Kuseno spoke about his feelings, however, and now he just learns cuz he gets bored on his hunt for the Mad Cyborg sometimes.
Saitama used to have trichotillomania, and it was what he first thought caused his hair loss. Additionally, after about a month of having godly strength, he knows the exact reason why he lost his hair (and no, it was not his strength. Kinda.)
Genos simultaneously loves autumn and hates it. Loves it cuz pretty, hates it cuz overactive (and edgy teen) brain is reminded of dying almost every time the season comes.
Saitama has ADHD-PI (ADHD predominantly inattentive). He is also autistic, with auditory and vestibular stims.
Genos has ADHD-HI (ADHD hyperactive-impulsive). Like Saitama, he has autism as well, but he has visual stims (he likes to zoom in and out on stuff with his robo eyes)
Saitama sees himself as a person heavily leaning towards Masc., and he's only ever known to be a man, but if someone somehow thought/referred to him as a different gender, he wouldn't care. (To this day, he justifies it as him not caring enough about a small mistake like that)
Genos also does not give a fuck if you thought of/referred to him as a different gender. He's too concerned about the Mad Cyborg to care whenever it happens.
Saitama has two exes. A shitty one and a chill one. He doesn't talk to either of them, but he did see them on the same day sometime after Genos moved in.
Genos has a massive soft spot for symbolism, major and small things alike. Aka: give him symbolic flowers and he probably won't throw them away immediately.
Saitama bites his nails when he's anxious. His palms are very calloused, too, compared to the rest of his skin.
Genos likes ducks—specifically Plumed Whistling ducks. He just thinks the feathers are neat.
Saitama loves lykois ("werewolf cats"). He spent 4 years begging his mom to get him one when he found out they existed. It didn't work.
Genos specifically asked Kuseno to make his latest arm set black because Saitama had told him once that black suited him.
Saitama used to be a D&D (or OPM universe equivalent) nerd when he was a young teen. He dropped it cuz of high school bullies (teachers included)
Genos sense of humor is just anything bizarre and loud.
Saitama takes long showers because he likes being enveloped in hot water. (Aka: he's touch starved to the 3rd degree)
Genos considered having Kuseno change his hair brown when he was 15.
Saitama despises beaches. Apart from the views, he hates everything about them and will actually go on a passionate rant about them.
Genos knows how to drive. Saitama doesn't.
Saitama used to work as an actor for a haunted house when he was 17.
Genos went through a grunge phase when he was 15.
Saitama knows how to steal without being caught, but he never uses that knowledge.
Genos eats straight sugar sometimes.
Saitama used to collect rocks, sticks, and marbles. He still has a few of those, sitting in a duffel bag he has in his closet.
Genos once got a shitty sticker stuck on his arm and couldn't get rid of it for a full week.
Saitama, prior to meeting Genos, used to go dumpster diving for paint cans so he could put graffiti on abandoned buildings.
Genos picked a fight with a squirrel once in his late teen years for "disrespecting Dr. Kuseno's property"
Saitama once put a hole in the wall from headbanging to music (punk rock, specifically). He put a ban on himself to never listen to it in the house again.
Genos spent an entire day chasing down a dog that took off with his (broken off) arm.
Saitama got stuck in a strip club overnight twice. Both times he was drunk and woke up under the stages. He snuck out when the clubs opened up again.
Genos burned half of Kuseno's hair when he was first learning how to use his fire attacks. He felt bad and burned his own to make it even.
Saitama snuck into his school during the night just to get back his favorite pencil that he left in his locker. He somehow didn't get caught.
Genos, before he learned proper combat, he used to have a "grab whatever's close and throw it" type of style of fighting. More often than not, it was usually chairs and tables he threw.

RTARL’s 2020 NFL Season Week 5 Extravapalooza
Tumblr media
My 13-year-old nephew was visiting this weekend, and he decided he wanted to become an NFL fan. In his short time on Earth, he’s lived in England, Montana, Georgia, Guam, and Connecticut, so he doesn’t really have strong regional ties anywhere. My brother and I are New Englanders, and since they now live in Connecticut, the Patriots seemed like a logical choice. But, he wasn’t feeling it. He has a fascination with New York City, so I helpfully told him that NYC has TWO teams he could choose from. He was excited, and settled on the Jets. Years from now, when he’s bigger and stronger than me, he will stuff me in a garbage can for setting him down the path of New York Jets fandom, and I will totally deserve it.
BONUS LINK THAT I FOUND INTERESTING: Scoring is way up in the NFL so far in 2020, and this post on 538 tries to figure out both why that is, and which teams benefit the most from this high-scoring and aggressive environment.
My picks are in BOLD, and the lines come to us courtesy of our friends at Vegas Insider. I use the “VI Consensus” line, which is the line that occurs most frequently across Vegas Insider’s list of sportsbooks. Your sportsbook of choice may offer a different number, and if you’d like my opinion on said number A) you are insane, and B) leave a comment below and I’ll try to answer at some point before things kickoff today.
Tumblr media
EARLY GAMES
Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7)
I saw a Smart Football Knower on Twitter saying that the Steelers defensive line leads the NFL in “pass rush win rate,” and that Carson Wentz has been the worst QB in the league when under pressure. That seems less than ideal for Philly, and it’s good enough for me to lay the points here.
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons (-2)
The Packers’ ruthless stomping of the Falcons this past Monday probably choked out any hope and crushed whatever will Atlanta had, and they’re doomed to spend the rest of the season listlessly playing out the string and losing to less-talented squads like Carolina....IS JUST WHAT ATLANTA WANTS YOU TO THINK! I’m not falling for it and neither should you.
Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-11.5)
Kill them, Patrick. Make them regret they were ever born. It’s crazy that as good as the Chiefs have been, it still feels like they haven’t played at their full planet-destroying potential for a whole game yet. Doing so this week against the hated Raiders would make me a happy man, all because the Raiders have had the audacity to ruin my picks more than any other team over the last couple of seasons. Well, it sure SEEMS like they have, anyway. I suppose I could actually go back and check to see if the numbers bear this out, but that seems like far more work than I’m willing to put in. It’s way easier just to hate them in blissful ignorance.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-5.5)
I’m happy for Texans fans finally being rid of Bill O’Brien, but this team still has issues and I’m gonna need to see drastically improved performance on the field before I raise them above “Trash” in my personal power rankings. Also:
Tumblr media
Arizona Cardinals (-7) at New York Jets
The Jets had their own coronavirus scare yesterday when one of their players popped a positive test result. Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately, it turned out to be a false positive, so game on. Allow me to be the 1,000th person to make the joke that Adam Gase purposely tried to infect his team in order to get this game postponed, so that he may live to coach another week.
Los Angeles Rams (-7) at Washington Football Team
It’s COMPLETELY insane that Alex Smith is the #2 QB for Washington in this game. He has drop foot! His leg is made of paper mache!  Alex Smith entering the game to the deafening silence of a fanless stadium and immediately having his leg destroyed again would be the most Washington Football Team thing imaginable.
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-12.5)
Cincinnati’s 8-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Geno Atkins will be making his season debut in this one, and that should be enough for the Bengals defense to contain Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Hahahaha, just kidding. This pick is based purely on my potentially misguided faith in super cool new kid Joe Burrow and his ability to put up enough points in garbage time to hit an infuriating backdoor cover.
Tumblr media
LATE GAMES
Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers (-8)
San Francisco is 2-2, they’ve had an absurdly easy schedule so far, and they’ve also been decimated by injuries. Tough to get a read on these fellas. I’m inclined to believe they’ll round into form and make a nice playoff run, but it might take a bit for them to get into rhythm as they reintegrate their returning players. I think the Dolphins are plenty frisky enough to make this a legit scrap.
Indianapolis Colts (PK) at Cleveland Browns
Is it just me or is Indy Phillip Rivers infinitely less charming than San Diego Phillip? I don’t even know why I feel this way, he’s the same loudmouthed redass as before, but the Colt version just seems so bland. Maybe it’s the missing lightning bolts on the helmet/uniform. Those really do add pizazz to everything. Like everyone else, I very much enjoyed the Browns deploying multiple gadget plays in their thrashing of Dallas, but I’m not sure it’s a good sign that they felt the need to bust out so many of them against a truly ghastly Cowboy defense. Baker Mayfield still wasn’t all that great in that game (19-30, 165 yds and 2 TDs), so it’s tough for me to say the Cleveland offense has actually turned any sort of corner, especially with the loss of Nick Chubb.
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-8.5)
I assumed this game was gonna be on FOX and I was excited at the prospect of Uber-Crotchety Troy Aikman making an appearance as he finally loses it completely and shits all over a poor Cowboys performance and the NFC East as a whole, but it turns out this is getting the CBS Romo/Nantz treatment. So, now I think we’re gonna get a hefty dose of Gigglin’ Tony as Dak throws for another 450 in a blowout win. Is this sound reasoning for making picks? Absolutely not.
SNF: Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks (-7)
Once again, the Seahawks find themselves in the game with the highest over/under for the week (56). Giddy up! Vikings QB Kurt Cousins finally showed faint signs of life last week in a win over Houston, and a meeting with Seattle’s worst-in-the-league secondary should fully unleash the dragon. Among a fantastic-looking rookie class of WRs, Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson is quietly emerging as the best of the bunch. GEAUX TIGUHS!
MNF (Early): Denver Broncos at New England Patriots (-8)
As of now, the Broncos and Pats are scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM on Monday night, but this could obviously be derailed by another positive COVID-19 test result from New England (or Denver, I guess). There’s also a question as to whether or not Cam Newton will be allowed to start at QB for the Patriots. Since Cam’s infection has been asymptomatic, he’s allowed to resume playing either A) ten days after his initial positive test or B) five days after his initial test, but with two consecutive negative tests 24-hours apart. Cam tested positive on Oct. 2, and the game is set for Oct. 12.
This game is off the board at sportsbooks right now, but Vegas Insider pulled that Pats -8 from somewhere, so fuck it I’ll take a crack at it. I’m picking the Broncos to cover based on my assumption that Cam will NOT play, because believe it or not emotionless cyborg Bill Belichick has been one of the more progressive coaches at any level of football in terms of taking COVID-19 seriously. Low bar to clear, but still.
UPDATE: This game has now been postponed as another Patriot has tested positive for COVID-19.
MNF (Late): Los Angeles Chargers at New Orleans Saints (-8)
The Saints appear to be getting healthier, with WR Michael Thomas, TE Jared Cook, CB Marshon Lattimore, offensive linemen Andrus Peat and Ryan Ramczyk, defensive linemen Marcus Davenport and Trey Hendrickson, and safety Malcolm Jenkins all returning to practice, albeit in limited fashion. But, the Justin Herbert-led Chargers have lost their three games by a combined 15 points, and they’ve looked extremely feisty each week, including decent stretches where they were in control against both the mighty Chiefs and championship-contender Buccaneers. Eight points is too many, in my opinion. Have I mentioned that I love Justin Herbert? What a dreamboat.
Tuesday: Buffalo Bills (-6.5) at Tennessee Titans
Much like the Patriots/Broncos game, this game isn’t being offered at sportsbooks as of right now. But, in my relentless commitment to consequence-free handicapping with no discernible benefit to me personally, I’m gonna pick it using the Vegas Insider line provided.
It’s a real shame the coronavirus has turned this game into such a redheaded stepchild, because it’s a seriously tasty matchup. The Bills are on track to welcome excellent CB Tre’Davious White back, which is great news for a defense that’s been much shittier than expected so far. Tennessee’s best WR A.J. Brown is still listed as Questionable with a knee injury after missing the Titans’ last game (Week 3), and on top of that WRs Corey Davis and Adam Humphries are question marks due to testing positive for COVID-19. Not great! But, the Titans do still have Derrick Henry and a great offensive line, and as I mentioned before the Bills D has been butt so far this season. I think the Titans will still be able to move the ball effectively and eat up clock even with their potentially depleted pass-catching corps. Dare I say we’re in for some SMASH-MOUTH FOOTBALL?! Somewhere, John Madden just used a marker to telestrate a Halfback Dive on the nearest wall. BOOM!
Now for some stupid jokes! Hey, how ‘bout this Titans team holding outlaw practices and keeping their in-house plague going? More like TENNESSEE TYPHOIDS, amiright? If this game is canceled due to another positive test by Tennessee, you can always get your football fix by watching the classic film Remdesivir the Titans!
*thanks to Gov. Mike Huckabeav for helping me with that last paragraph
UPDATE: Another member of the Titans organization has tested positive, and their facilities have been closed down once again. This game seems perilously close to being postponed/canceled. Son of a bitch.

Chestnutfest Day 2: If I could be a superhero...
9/15
AU/Cosplay (Both)
Rights to Dragonball and other properties are held by their respective owners. No infringement is implied or intended.
If I could be a superhero…
By koinekid
“Krillin, this is stupid.”
“It’s supposed to be fun, babe.”
“Why do I have to ‘dress up’ like a cyborg? I’m already a cyborg.”
“But you don’t look like one.”
“How do cyborgs look?”
“You know, metal arms and glowing eyes and stuff.” He gestured to her current costumed appearance.
Eighteen grumbled, “These contact lenses are uncomfortable.”
“We’ll only stay a little while, and you can take them out once we meet everyone.”
“Fine.” Eighteen tried to cross her arms, but her costume’s bulk prevented her. With a few notable exceptions, said costume didn’t look all that different from her normal attire. Her jeans were black instead of blue, and for her top, she had ripped off and discarded the striped sleeves from one of her old black and white tees. She had also tied back her hair—not in the pony tail she frequently sported while chasing their energetic eight-year-old around the house—but with pins, the goal being to make her look as if she had cut her hair short. She didn’t like it.
By far the most annoying aspect of the costume were the fake cybernetic arms: store-bought gray silicone rubber pieces designed for someone with much thicker arms than her own. They flopped around every time she moved.
And the contacts made her eyes appear black with yellow pupils.
Krillin said she looked great, but he was hardly an unbiased observer: He’d tell her she looked fantastic wearing a sack and be completely genuine while doing so.
To keep their makeshift costumes looking their best, they took an air car, but finding an open area to land in this unfamiliar city proved a challenge. In the end, they had to touch down several blocks away, and now would probably be late.
Krillin rubbed her back as they walked. “I’m sorry you’re uncomfortable, babe, but if we want to break into the superhero biz, we have to network.”
Eighteen sighed, noting in appreciation that he avoided pointing out it was her idea for them to become superheroes in the first place. Now that Marron attended school and Krillin had a few years’ experience as a cop under his belt, Eighteen decided it was time to take his law enforcement career to the next level. To be frank, she also missed fighting alongside him and felt it would bring the two of them closer together as a couple. Since her unthinkably cruel comment at the tournament, they desperately needed it.
She closed her eyes, willing tears not to fall. Krillin said he forgave her, but it would be a long time before she could forgive herself.
“And we network at a costume party while dressed as other heroes?” She spoke more calmly now, deliberately forcing any harshness from her tone.
Krillin shrugged. He wore a frumpy yellow jumpsuit with a white cape and red boots and gloves. “Apparently it’s a big thing among their crowd.”
They were nearing the house hosting the party, and Eighteen wanted to hug him in apology for her bad mood, but those silicone arms were in her way, so she settled for gently teasing him.
“You look funny in a bald cap, husband.” She called him that whenever possible to try and associate the word with positive comments once more.
“Only because you wouldn’t let me shave my head.” His hair started growing back after the tournament, reminding her how attractive it made him.
Matter-of-factly, she stated, “I’m not losing that gorgeous hair of yours because of a costume party.”
He grinned. “Gorgeous, huh?”
She nodded. “Sexy, too.”
“I thought we were fighting.”
“We were. Now we’re making up.”
They reached the door, but before he could ring the bell, she leaned down, grabbing him as best she could in her rubber arms and kissing him hard. He threaded a hand around her neck and pulled her down for more.
One of them must have leaned against the doorbell because it suddenly sounded. Neither of them paid attention until the door opened.
“Huh,” a voice said. “Ever think you’d see the two of us making out, Genos?”
“Not outside of those online fan arts.”
“You visit those sites?” Saitama raised a brow.
“To find and correct those disrespecting you, Teacher.”
Eighteen blinked in surprise. In the doorway stood two of the heroes Krillin told her he most wanted to meet—Saitama, the so called Caped Baldy, and his student, Genos, the Demon Cyborg. She and Krillin had come to the party dressed as them.
And it was like looking in a mirror…sort of, a cracked mirror to be sure, but a mirror nonetheless. Saitama was dressed as a taller version of Krillin—complete with magic-markered moxibustion burns and the traditional orange uniform of the Kamesennin school.
Saitama extended his hand to Krillin. “We’re big fans.”
“Of us?”
“Yeah. Who wouldn’t be? You guys are Earth’s Special Forces.” Saitama pointed to the insignia on his chest. “Is the kanji right? I had to copy it from one of the plush toys, and it might have been a knockoff.”
Eighteen didn’t catch her husband’s response, because she was busy eyeing Genos. His outfit was a mockery of hers: blue jeans and one of the black-and-white long-sleeved tee shirts she had ruined to put together her own costume, except his obscenely large arms stretched the sleeves so far they looked like they might tear at any moment. He also wore a blonde wig that got the length of her hair right but not the style. He didn’t bother wearing contacts to hide his eye color, though. His was a “natural” black with yellow irises.
She was about to ask him a question when she noticed his eyes lower to her chest. Ordinarily she would be put out and balling up her fist ready to strike—or expecting Krillin to do so. So, what if she could defend her own honor? It was her husband’s responsibility! But then Genos spoke.
“You’re a—a woman.”
She planted her hands on her hips. “What gave it away?”
He nodded toward her chest, and she rolled her eyes.
“Teacher,” he said, “You told me I was dressed as the male cyborg.”
“Did I? Must have mixed up the numbers. Hey, you two, come on in. There’s a lot of people itching to meet you. You’re going to fit in around here just fine.”
Before following Krillin and Saitama inside, Eighteen fixed a glare on Genos. Leaning in, she said. “I just want to know one thing.”
Genos shifted subtly into attack mode. “Yeah?”
“Where…did you get that shirt? The stores back home stopped selling them, and I can’t find replacements anywhere.”
“Oh, a—a place downtown.”
“Good,” she said. “Remind me to get the details from you later. For now, I’ll catch up with my husband. It’s going to be a long night.” And with any luck, she thought, an interesting career.
The END

Note: I wrote this pretty quickly. Apologies if it isn’t very good and if the OPM characters are OOC (I’m sure they are). I’ve never read or watched OnePunch Man, but since I heard the creator was a DBZ fan, I couldn’t resist writing this as an answer to the AU/Cosplay challenge.

Thanks once again, @deadlybeautydbz and @chestnutisland

@arsanatomica comments as part of this:
also, I don't know if this is stretching it, but I just want to mention that since you mentioned the process of innovation and iterative invention that is realistically depicted in this comic.   Surgeries happen the same way. Surgeries are generally not all in one procedures but are instead of a series of stepwise procedures.
This is why you hear of people getting something like dozens of surgery to reach an intended result vs one major surgery. Even disregarding some sort of lengthy recovery time, It seems bizarre to me that he would just be out fighting monsters off the bat..... and that kuseno would allow this.  I mean this can be handwaved cuz parody manga, but the timeline just doesn't make a lot of sense to me and it makes me wonder if he's  not quite a reliable narrator.
Yup, I’m quite familiar with the concept of staged surgeries, although I’ve not had the personal experience of them, touch wood!   Within the world of OPM, let me introduce you to a recently-introduced webcomic character, Webigaza, who provides us with another lens to look at your very questions.   She’s also a cyborg and was a successful idol who chose body modification in order to compete head-to-head with Amai Mask. Envy is a hell of a drug, isn’t it?  Her modifications are nowhere near as extensive as Genos’s (*only* about 70% of her body is modified, which in itself is considered impossible in their world), but they have required several surgeries, months, lots and lots of drugs and have left her with a distinctly reduced quality of life.  In particular, if she exerts herself, she’s at constant risk of over-heating. Which is a big problem for her in her roles as an idol and a hero.
Very interesting and also raises more WTF questions. WTF 3. First, h-how is Genos walking around the place, eating and drinking and living such a comfortable human life? He’s alluded to that in passing, saying only that Dr Kuseno put in a lot of work to ensure he could, but still, huh?
WTF 4. How long has Genos been a cyborg for, exactly? The other weasel term in that introduction speech is that Genos says nothing about when within the time between his being saved by Dr Kuseno at 15 and his roaming the world at 19 that he became a cyborg.   Speaking just for myself, I have a sneaking feeling that he’s not been one for very long.  The two strongest things driving my feeling are first, if he’s been fighting for four years, how come not turning his back on a monster was news to him?  The steepness with which he’s picked up on a sense of danger and battle awareness speaks to starting from a very low level.   Second, his bad habit of burning them all and let God sort ‘em out?  -- at least until Saitama had a word with him, yes, it is as illegal as heck.  The Hero Association hadn’t been trailing him to give him a pat on the back and a medal.  I can buy his staying ahead of them for several weeks or even months, but four years? Hmmm!
We need answers to so much.
