akechi standing over his rival's slumped body, gloating in his total victory. he's finally dead. he bends down to get a better look at him. he wants to appreciate this kill. wants to get one last good look at his enemy, his once-rival, whom he bested. yes, those gray eyes are well and truly dead. the glint akechi grew so accustomed to, that filled him with such utter fury and hatred, is gone. they're empty now. there's no challenge in them. no smirk. just the shock of cold, lonely death.

akechi should leave now. but something keeps him in place. something about those eyes. eyes that will never mock him again. eyes that will never look at him with that perplexing fondness he never did comprehend. eyes that will never beckon him or egg him on. these eyes don't hold his rival within them. akechi snuffed them out.

he stares at the eyes that hold absolutely nothing left in them. and feels that same emptiness, deep inside, slowly consuming him whole.

and then, before akechi's own eyes, the body disintegrates into black dust.
