Favorite Holidays: Christmas and Halloween. even tho i find it harder to feel the holiday spirit up until the very last minute i love christmas so much. and not even to be corny but its true that when you grow up you start to care less about the presents and more about the memories with family and friends.

i grew up in a religous family so my parents didnt let me celebrate halloween but i still love it with my whole heart. im a november baby so i love fall and all things eerie and spooky.

Current Favorite Musician: currently ive been really enjoying pinkpantheress. her new album is literally 10/10. she has such a knack for melodies, and her lyrics are very eerie and poetic while maintaining a cutesy 2000s vibe. shes also a sampling queen.

Last Book/Fic Finished: last fic i finished was keeping up with the berzattos by chefskiss40 on ao3. ive reread it like 3 or 4 times now and im patiently waiting for an update. its just so good, i love the domestic vibes. im not a fan of seeing my ships start families in canon but in fic? oh i could read that forever

Last Book/Fic Abandoned: not really abandoned but sorta modified? the sydcarmy high school au i started in the summer was a good concept but i didnt really have a concrete idea where the overall story would go. BUT im planning on maybe doing a series which is just a collection of one shots of them in HS? OR i plan on doing a multi-chapter shorter story that is an AU that also takes place in a high school setting but with a twist that i dont want to reveal bc that would mean i would have to commit to it. lol

Currently Reading: nothing. unless you count all these articles/research papers I've been reading for my health research studies course (think i aced the exam yesterday so maybe all the pain was worth it)

Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: doesnt really count as research but basically i was on pinterest creating boards for 3 different fics. was researching wedding dresses for a nat & syd fic where they go wedding dress shopping (will be finishing after my last exam). also just creating two other boards to inspire myself to start the au i teased above and my bones and all AU/retelling i talked about last month. i want to watch some more cannibalism media and maybe research about 80s pop culture and politics before i dive into that one fully.

Thanks to YouTuber Simon the Magpie's review of a different model entirely, I have finally rediscovered what my first synthesizer was.

Well, I say synthesizer.

The Yamaha TYU-30 was a toy keyboard with 25 miniature keys, each with an LED; the only voice was a "piano" patch. There was a little cartridge slot that you could load songs from, though only two carts were ever made, and I only had the first. You could transpose these songs up and down, and sing along via the included microphone; the keys for the melody would light up while it'd play a three voice accompaniment, and depending on the mode, it would either wait for you to hit the keys, not wait, play them itself, or just play the rhythm.

We weren't the sort of family who could afford this kind of thing; I won it at a craft and gift show that mom was selling her pinecone Christmas decorations at. One of the biggest exhibitors, right up near the front of the show by the entrance, had an hourly drawing for various things they were selling, and it was one of those must-be-present-to-win deals; my ticket was the second one drawn for this, near the end of the show. (I don't think I won anything else for a decade.)

The thing got broken or went missing somewhere in our various moves, so I probably haven't seen one since the 1980s. Nostalgia, huh?

There wasn't too much room for reflecting mode or writing mode this past month, with work mode, problem-solving mode, and fun/chilling mode taking up most of my time. Appreciating the present, continuing to enjoy winter's greatest charms with my lingering Christmas lights and the snow we finally got, was the other priority.

Some Januarys feel like the new beginning the calendar designates them as, and some feel like the continuation - the middle of a season and chapter in progress - that they are.

My new job has been going well. Lots of work available (more than I even want to do), some projects I enjoy, and encouragement to delve more deeply into projects than I normally do at my other jobs (which, to be fair, pays off better with hourly pay than with project-based pay, since it takes more time), which results in a more comprehensive use of my skills and a better final product and is ultimately more rewarding. And I feel like it's making me better at what I do in a way that will transfer to other jobs. Also, I like the people I work with, and it's an overall good environment that feels nice to be part of in a way that... again, I don't usually feel too much at work. I wondered how this company got so much love in employee reviews despite its low pay, but I kind of get it now.

And they like me too? Like a lot? Had another call with them to check in after a month and they're like, we feel like you've been here forever. And quickly started giving me more technical projects that they normally don't let freelancers do. Not that they pay any more per hour. T_T

A couple of my other jobs have picked up a little too - but not my best-paying ones. And yeah, I've been working a fair bit, sometimes fucking up my schedule in the process. One week I went to bed around 7 AM two days in a row due to projects for two different jobs running unexpectedly long. Last week I did the same again for a different job still. It's still not a crazy amount of work or anything, but by my standards, it can feel like a jam-packed schedule sometimes. And I've really really neglected applying for new jobs, which, no matter how much work I have or how much I like my current jobs, I still need to do because what I get out of the hours I put in just isn't going to be enough in the long run.

Slowly, I'm emerging from this transitional period, trying to reorient myself to things I've put on the back burner. My inner clock is feeling the shift to February, and suddenly I really want to work on my picture blog again.

And the lights I never ever ever want to let go are about to go out.

Embarrassed By Patriots with 2023 Twist for Buffalo Bills

What year is this?  Losing to New England isn’t supposed to be a tradition anymore for the Buffalo Bills.  A relapse is way worse considering the franchises supposedly crossed paths on respective tracks.  The supposedly better one better be as embarrassed as its fans are.

The score was 10-0 after one quarter just like everyone guessed.  The Bills play like they’re not morning people deep into the afternoon.  A leisurely approach to getting started drags down the record in the season’s middle.

Professionals shouldn’t need adjustment time.  Showing up at kickoff is one of the job responsibilities.  Game-playing millionaires should know the value of playing intensely from the start.  The Bills can’t work from home.  It’s time to pay this roster hourly, as they can’t be trusted to put in work while on salaries.

A lack of focus blurs hopes.  Buffalo has spaced out early in games and the schedule.  They’re running out of time to become awesome both in individual and broader samples.  It’s nearly November in case you couldn’t tell because Halloween decorations have been up since Independence Day.  The season only seems eternal.  By the time Christmas decorations are up this weekend, nearly half the football one will be a memory kept in consciousness by an unimpressive record.

Idlers knew deep down they could only feel inspired by the Bills for so long.  Waiting until the final quarter leads to a comeuppance for arrogant loafers.  This club is playing as if they think coasting on talent will win them another division.  The Bills are surprised by lousy grades after writing term papers on the bus.  Blame typos on potholes.

The only thing worse than Ken Dorsey learning on the job is him not learning.  John Y. Brown is more popular amongst Buffalo fans.  Conditioning a rushing quarterback to not rush is a nice touch.  Meanwhile, the coach who started his Buffalo career getting a team to overachieve is now overseeing underachieving.  The eternally perspicacious Pegulas gave Sean McDermott an extension just like they did Don Granato if we’re still into that One Buffalo thing.

Dorsey would rage about the defense if he knew it wouldn’t get him canned from an undeserved job.  It’s easy to determine who played well when the list is so short.  Look away from mortifying tackling paired with unimpressive attempts at coverage lead to an offense-level meltdown.  I’d would rather have ‘90s Sabre Dane Jackson in coverage than the present Bill.  Christian Benford is playing like a BCS school alumnus who was the 185th pick.  Taron Johnson is finally known, and now it’s for the wrong reason.

You’re just missing the long game.  Making Mac Jones look amazing suckers the Patriots into thinking he’s their quarterback solution.  Then they wouldn’t even get their first choice to replace him because winning hurts their draft standing during a season when they are playing for an insurance settlement.  You didn’t think the Bills just played badly because they’re overrated, did you?

There’s no reward for suffering.  A just world would feature steady enjoyment of New England’s descent into its eternal spot.  Instead, Buffalo helped Satan’s favorite coach get his 300th win in a moment that brought back the kind of painful memories that resurface when your alarm’s going off in five hours and your brain flaunts its sense of humor by reviewing every torment.

Frustration at idling was so thorough that complaining about officiating is an afterthought.   The NFL apparently can’t have a play clock alarm.  Why won’t the NBA loan them shot clock buzzers?  This league is notorious for never making money, which is also why they can’t implement a tennis-style imaging system that can spot where the ball is to determine first downs and scores.  Scraping together enough to make the game fair seems like it’s worth skipping an iced cappuccino treat or two.  Next, make offsetting personal foul committers sit for five plays each instead of nothing happening.

The Bills failed a test that wasn’t one.  Dominating as expected against a franchise that’s plummeting faster than my optimism wouldn’t have moved them up power rankings.  But they couldn’t even manage that modest feat in perhaps this season’s most mortifying example of falling short.  Blaming the inherent toughness of divisional matchups is an excuse this team isn’t granted.

Falling short gets to the point where exceptions become the rule.  We call that the Dawson Knox standard.  Hopefully, he’ll be able to catch footballs after surgery in a way he couldn’t before.  Listlessness is no longer merely a phase.  The club can’t shrug off barely getting past the imploding Giants.  The Bills have already blown a high percentage of their 17 chances.

Shiftlessness always catches up.  The Bills have been avoiding hangovers despite debauched nights.  They got plastered during Sunday Night Football and woke up fine.  But indulging finally dehydrated them.  They have to shake wanting to sleep through a splitting headache, as they have to wake up by Thursday.  On a related note, the day after Amazon football night offers a good chance to fire a coordinator managing indolence.  The Bills simply don’t look right.  Wasting potential isn’t fun to watch.  The score merely offers confirmation.

I like to stay close to canon compliant, but it could be pre, during, or post! Honestly as long as they're together and happy.

I did want to add that I will enjoy smut, but I truly want these boyos to be in L.O.V.E. = LOVE. I'm such a sucker for a good story behind any smutty bits that may be included. I had to think about hard limits for a while because I don't have many, if you've delved into my AO3 bookmarks at all you'll see QUITE A RANGE LEMME TELL YOU. I'm typically not a fan of anything that straight up bashes characters, I truly see them all with faults, strengths, and weaknesses. As long as things/opinions are explained within a fic, I'm good with most of it. There are no individual characters I avoid or dislike. I'm not a fan of elriel (I'm mentioning this because it's one of the only things I typically scroll past but not sure it's at all applicable here?) If you're specifically asking about kink ranges, lemme know cuz they're WIDE AND VARIED. If there's anal there must be lubrication of some kind, that's a hard line for me.

As for my favorite color, I've got a lot of teal things, but I'm starting to tend more towards deeper, darker blue-greens and lots of forest greens.

Comfort movie? Oh gods...this question...I'm not sure that I have one. I literally had to go look at my streaming services because I haven't watched many movies recently. I also tend to rewatch TV shows more than movies d/t time constraints. I'm also such a mood watcher/reader/listener that this answer literally changes hourly. I'm a huge fan of Disney's Peter Pan (see: my Azris Peter Pan AU), Beauty and the Beast (OG animation), and Hercules. I don't think I could watch The Prince of Egypt enough in one lifetime. Anastasia is another favorite. I enjoy The Proposal a lot too. White Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie. I'm a huge sucker for movies like "Rush" that are retellings of actual events (and a big F1 fan).

Pride and Prejudice and The Holiday are both great movies that I really enjoy, but haven't watched in a while!!

so i had this idea of an oc, an undeveloped one, where he’s basically like the mafia boss and the reader is a college/university student. and surprise surprise, the mafia boss is a hardcore yandere. if you guys like him, then i’ll happily develop his character more and if you don’t, i’ll still write more about him.

this man is the epitome of someone who, although appears dangerous, violent and conniving, and is actually all of those and more, is deep down a needy child. he throws regular tantrums and fits when he doesn’t get what he wants, usually because you can’t fulfil his wish on those days. his fits and tantrums have gotten worse, more so violent, ever since he came into contact with you. no one can calm him down, everyone just waits until he’s exhausted from it. but once you came into the picture, his tantrums became more easier to manage.

at one point he had asked his father if buying you would make it easier in claiming you as his. his dad said yes. it didn’t work. he had another tantrum.

being a normal college student, your protection is his top priority. this means bodyguards wherever you go. he’ll order them to escort you to and from your institute. they will be in your classes standing beside you, shooing and scaring away any fellow students who are walking past or attempting to sit beside you. to your frustration, they sometimes try to enter the bathroom with you but luckily they’ve learnt to just stand outside after you gave them a stern lecture. but because he sees you as his valuable future spouse to be, he’ll sometimes deem himself as one of your bodyguards on some days. those days are mainly when he frees up his schedule because he craves the sight of you. he’s paranoid when he can’t see you with his own eyes. he can’t risk you being far from him or gone for too long or else he’ll spiral further into his paranoia.

to heighten that level of protection, once you are finished with the day, you are immediately taken to his home, willingly or not. you are confined there until your next class or you have a family gathering that almost always he invites himself to. if he is the one who has a family gathering, he’ll invite you to specific ones to show you off but those others where he doesn’t is because he wants to keep you away from prying eyes that may take interest in you. you are considered to be rare and he can’t take the chance of you being taken away from him.

when there was a time where the two of you didn’t get along, and you continually rejected his advances and forceful nature, he came to the conclusion that he needed to ask someone who had more power than him. fortunately, this period was also around Christmas. he paid a visit to a shopping mall Santa, pushed all the children out of the way, sat on his lap and asked if he could have his darling chained in his room this Christmas. Santa said he couldn’t do that and he got mad which resulted in him having another one of his tantrums. he got kicked out by security. his guards arrived and kicked the entire security teams ass.

because you are confined to his house majority of the day, he likes to check in with cameras and watch you. especially when you’re sleeping on his bed. he specifically locked all other extra bedrooms so you could spread your heat and smell on his. when he returns, he will not do, say or have anything until he gets his hourly hug. hourly hug: you are ordered to hug him close to your chest until he states that he has had enough. when he orders you to do so, it feels like a threat to you. but even though they’re called his ‘hourly hug’, they’re barely ever just an hour. could you blame him? you’re body is what he cherishes and to have you hold him close to you after being away from you. he melts at the sight of you, so you could imagine how he would feel being held. usually those hourly hugs ends up with him wanting more from you, and he’ll make sure that you cannot deny him.

your professors or fellow students are giving you a hard time? not to worry, he has suitcases of money and a whole army to make sure that no one brings a frown to your face. the last professor that made that mistake, he ordered his goons to find his location and investigate his background. while you were soundly asleep, he and his goons drove to his home. with several blackmailing and threatening statements, you were given extra credit, much to your surprise. one student made the fatal mistake of asking you on a date, and the next day his parents had to begin preparations for his funeral. students are aware they need to keep their distance from you and they do. no one messes with the mafia boss’ spouse to be.

he uses his lifestyle and role to his advantage. he was never passionate in what he did, nor did he have any sort of attachment to his work. but that instantly flipped when you entered the picture. his attitude converted drastically. he became more serious, hardworking and committed. he likes to perceive himself as your working husband, making the money to sustain you now and forever. he found the business useful in various situations; he was able to discover your background information, he has bodyguards he trusts to keep you safe and away from the public, he has an estate away from society so they could never reach you, and the money to allow you to spend on anything you desire. his father believes that having you in his son’s life will have him continue controlling the family business flawlessly— this leads him to encouraging his son, lending him advice in how to keep you beside him.

if anyone opposes your relationship with him, then he will very easily shut them up. that can be in a form of blackmail, ending their life permanently or even stitching their mouths which he has done. this has proven to be difficult for you to handle because a few of your family members and old friends were/are aware of who he is and the relationship you have with him. he goes easy on those specific family members, sending subtle threats to their face and even to their door. but, there is a reason why it says ‘old friends’. i’ll leave that up to your imagination. it ain’t pretty.

due to the lack of interaction with others because of your reputation as being under the care of the mafia boss’ spouse to be, his goons have become your friends but they are always told to keep themselves firmly behind that line for if they step over it and become too close to you, they’ll lose their head. to him they’re replaceable, but not you. no, never you. his goons find you as significant as their boss is to them so whatever you call for, they’ll do it gladly. they are devoted to you as they are to their boss. you are going to be their boss’ spouse so, with all their might, together they will serve you with great loyalty.

on those days where you have nothing, or did but he freed your schedule for him, you are subjected to his neediness. he appears to the public as a stoic, sadistic and terrifying man— he is all that but add clingy, lustful, possessive child to the equation, but that is revealed to only you. those days and nights where he has you are his favourite memories. when he makes a mess of you over and over, and you call out his name as you climax. even the thought of it gets him hard that he needs to have you to calm down. you are always left exhausted from those days and night, not just from his stamina— this man will finish after more than 5 long rounds, leave to take care of some business that usually take up no more than a few hours, and come back to feed you then continue where he left off.

and when he wants more of you, he makes sure to fuck you senseless so you aren’t able to attend your classes the next day. that is mainly on Thursdays and Sundays— if he fucks you crazy on Thursday then you won’t be able to go on Friday and when he has his way with you on Sundays, then that means that you’ll have Monday free for him.
