Kaede and Shuichi were often busy people with their specific schedules: Kaede with piano and/or recital practice, and Shuichi with cases and/or detective work in general. This weekend, however, both fortunately were completely free: and so, they were going to have a little sleepover party tonight, via binging movies in a blanket fort they made together.

He already found himself having a lot of fun before the movie marathon had even started, mainly because of the excitement of building a blanket fort together with her. They already had their snacks and cans of iced drinks at the ready, along with the mountain of pillows and blanket set in their fort. And while the foot of mattress ‘floor’ was facing the TV, it still would have been a bit hard to actually see the entire TV from inside the fort, without having to practically be out of the fort.

So when Kaede proposed that idea to hook the blanket across the TV, Shuichi gave a rapid nod of his head in agreement. “Ohh! Great idea, Kaede! It would be nice to be able to enjoy our movies from within the fort, so let’s do it. Alright, let me first...” Crawling out of the fort, Shuichi first goes behind the TV to push it a bit closer towards the foot of the mattress. “There we go. I thought if we bring the TV a little closer, it’ll be easier to drape the blanket over it. Okay, now to drape it over.... Kaede, may I ask you to help make any adjustments from the inside, and tell me how it’ll look? Just to make sure it’s all good from my end, too.

Grabbing both ends of the blanket, Shuichi proceeds to hook it over the TV. He then makes sure the blanket ‘walls’ are still good, and the blanket is draped enough where it won’t risk sliding off the TV or, from the outside, looking like it’ll cover the screen part, too. “Alright, Kaede, how does it look...! Is it draped over the TV just fine?” If she’ll have to possibly push any parts of the blanket off the TV so that it’s not covering the screen, he’ll take that as a cue to pull parts of the blanket further back in turn. Then once she gives the OK it’s looking all good, he gives a satisfied smile. “Ah, that’s good! Alright, I’ll come back in, now.” Climbing back inside, he sits down next to her, smile softening as he looks at her. “Thank you for the help. Alright, now we can start our movie marathon for real, now! Hehe, I can’t wait: I’m very excited for this!” He chuckles, giving her a soft pat to her shoulder. “And for tonight in general. I’m having so much, Kaede: I’m happy we did this idea. Alright-” He grabs the remote to turn on the TV. “What movie would you like to start with, first? I don’t mind whatever we choose...!”

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)
