Who’s the man at the prison gate in the Pit Babe Series 2 Trailer?!?!?

Hi, I’m an idiot with an internet connection So, here is my totally accurate and scientifically sound analysis in support of my theory that it’s Pete. Grab your tinfoil hats friends and follow me down the rabbit hole.

First, I’m going to need you to turn your brain off and live in a world with me in which we won’t even consider that this is a new character who has not been introduced yet ( jokes on me because change2561 would pull this type of thing).

Now we need to narrow down the pool of candidates from our currently known characters. Obviously if our Prison throuple of Kenta, Winner and Dean are out of prison and spying on the X-Hunter squad we can safely assume the person who got them out isn’t likely to be in the inner circle of the X-Hunter team, so we can safely disregard Babe, Charlie, Alan, Jeff, North, Sonic, and Kim. Now we have three players in the running- Way, Pete and Tony.

So let’s get to narrowing this down, behold Exhibit A

Our man in black stays out of focus for most of the clip, but from what we can see it seems that this man is dressed in a suit and as we never see Way ever dressed in those types of clothes the whole season I think it’s fair to also vote him off the Island.

Now to our final two candidates, it’s time to analyse some heights baby!!! We are going to use Kenta as a control subject, height wise, for this as he is the most likely of the prison throuple to have had scenes with both the remaining candidates.

So let’s start with Tony, it’s ridiculously difficult to get shots of these two together where Kenta isn’t half a mile behind and throwing off the perspective because of that, but I tried my best.

As you can see from these over the shoulder shots, Tony and Kenta’s eye level looks to be about the same, with them being almost exactly the same height ( Tony being slightly taller at a push). With this shot also confirming that they are very similar in height to each other.

Moving onto Pete, we can see that our baby boys have a bit of a height difference, with Kenta being the shorter of the two. His eyeline whenever talking to Pete is directed upward.

Now let’s head back to the original shot of the mystery man’s back and use our new found knowledge, and attempt to solve this by using the ancient scientific method of drawing lines on pictures.

As Winner isn’t standing at full height I’m disregarding him from the experiment, much like I wish I could disregard him from the narrative completely.

So let’s draw onto our screenshot where Kenta and Dean’s eyeline should land if they were looking at someone that was of similar height to them.

And now let’s draw where their actual eyeline ends up, taking into consideration where our mystery man’s shoulders are to give us a rough estimate of where their eyeline should land if they were looking at his face, which they are.

Now as you can see from my totally foolproof scientific method, both of their eyelines are pointed slightly upward indicating that the person on the other side of the gate is taller than both Kenta and Dean. Now there is only one of our candidates who is taller than Kenta and that leaves us with only on option left… Pete.

I rest my case.

( Also just on the logical side, why would Tony get the man who betrayed him and stabbed him out of jail, like that makes no narrative sense)

Spoilers below for P2, P3, P4, and P5R.

First, I want to give some thoughts on his character as a whole. For the certain type of character he is (doomed, remorseful harbinger), Ryoji Mochizuki is perfect. I don't think there's a better Persona twist than his reveal as the the Appriser/Death, the thirteenth Arcana Shadow. Just because a twist is easy to see coming doesn't make it less impactful, and I particularly enjoy the way Persona 3 distills information to the player in allotments. Even knowing that, Ryoji managed to surprise me with how much more he was. And fittingly, a lot of Ryoji's characterization bounces back to the P3 Hero, and vice versa.

On top of that, Nyx Avatar is my favorite final boss in the entire Persona series and unsettled me out the first time. I'd still say that Nyx Avatar causes me more fear than the Reaper, who I'd comparatively describe as inciting panic rather than fear.

Ryoji is frequently compared to Kaworu from Neon Genesis Evangelion (NGE), and, well. Yeah. I believe I read that in a developer interview that the P3 dev team deliberately took inspiration from NGE but I'm unable to find a source at hand, so don't quote me on that. Between the two, I prefer Ryoji. He is the strongest out of the character type for me.

favorite thing about them

His layers! Ryoji is one of those late game characters who comes in and recontextualizes all the information you've learned thus far. It's why I love watching the Dictionary update throughout a playthrough. I understand why people are put off by the way he's introduced as a serial flirt, but Reload made it much more textually clear that this isn't his true personality, nor his intentions. Ryoji is proto-Teddie (Japanese Teddie, anyway); a fully formed individual who sprang into existence seeking connection. However, where Teddie's isolation and lack of identity are his defining characteristics, Ryoji's are moored in how connected he is with P3 Hero.

Ryoji ultimately only exists because of that connection, that little bit of humanity he's been given, but that's also what prevents him from being fully human. He's had a role to play since his inception, and he can't avoid that even with his newfound connections.

Ryoji's present throughout the entire story. You've got Pharos at the very beginning with the contract running errands for the Velvet Room (I like it more and more that I think about it. Picture Elizabeth or Igor having to explain to this terrifying child what he has to say. Or maybe he knew what to say all along! He has been waiting ten years), Thanatos tearing himself out of Orpheus (by far the best Persona awakening in the series and a textual highlight for what an alien force he is), and a crucial lynchpin event for Yukari's backstory, Mitsuru's backstory, as well as the crucial event for Aigis and P3 Hero.

There is no version of Persona 3 without Ryoji and I'm all the happier for it. Genuinely, if something's confusing with P3's story, there's 90% chance the answer is Ryoji or one of his many numerous forms. The remaining 10% is the Kirijo Group. That said, we don't get a lot of time with Ryoji. Ultimately, he's a part of P3 Hero and you're left to extrapolate exactly how much of each other you believe they've influenced.

Sogabe, the P3 & P4 mangaka, chose to highlight how similar Ryoji and P3 Hero look. I consider it an essential element of their relationship together.

least favorite thing about them

It'd be cheating to say nothing, wouldn't it? I'd say that his design is easy to mock and hard to get right in fanart. Between Ryoji's forehead and very Axel Kingdom Hearts approach towards long limbs – and legs in specific – the movies did not help with this. I've read reviews saying how the higher budget allowed for the characters to be more consistently on model, and thus look better, but I fervently disagree. That boy is mostly leg. Late 00s and early 10s anime art Looked Like That, though. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a soft spot for some of it.

But I love how Ryoji looks and wouldn't change it for the world. Silly slick-backed hair boy. It is funny how whenever Persona wants a villain with sympathetic qualities, they slick back the protagonist's hair (Philemon and Maruki come to mind).

Reload fixed ("fixed") this anyway but making him much fluffier in his portraits and giving his skin some color! He's achingly soft in that game.

favorite line

There's many iconic ones I could pick but I'm going to go with a new one from Reload:

It's so small, it's so playful! I like that if you choose to start an exchange he finishes the bit. It says a lot about him in such a succinct way.

Even more so when you consider the reason he came here was for Junpei's sake. Being able to balance joking around while keeping a touch of concern endears me beyond belief. Thank you, Reload.

brOTP

Junpei & Ryoji. It's not even close. This was the one element I was hoping Reload would show more and I was not disappointed! The dynamic is good for a variety of reasons, but chief among them is that despite Junpei's Persona being Magician Arcana, he is not the P3 Hero's Magician Social Link. Junpei is not the male protagonist's best friend. He clearly wants to be, but his frustration is palpable. The P3 Hero is cool, charming, and everything that Junpei plays second fiddle to, but he won't even acknowledge him. But what if there were a more likeable version of the Hero?

Instant friendship. Those two are besties from day one, where Ryoji has all the qualities but none of the knowledge, and so their dynamic is a much more even one. To me, it indicates how well Junpei and the P3 Hero might have gotten along had he not carried Death inside him for ten years. It's a brief window into another world.

There's also the fact that Ryoji, Death, befriends Junpei so close to when Takaya shoots him and he perishes. His character arc is defined by change, this act being what radically transforms his soul, and what's one of the meanings of the Death Tarot? It's like universal foreshadowing. It's funny to me too that the Magician Arcana Shadow is the one Thanatos tore to pieces. Growth for Ryoji too.

As an aside, I miss the dynamic movements from the PS2 cutscenes. Junpei being so quick to drown Ryoji is nowhere comparable to him covering Ryoji's mouth.

OTP

Hmm. This might take a second. I wonder what pairing I might like with Ryoji. Here's an unrelated picture of Messiah:

You know, Messiah is one of those Personas that has only grown on me more as time passes. My favorite of the final protagonist ones, due in part to how you have to fuse him yourself. Orpheus, the starting Persona, combined with the power of Thanatos, the penultimate manifestation of the Death Arcana. They compliment each other beautifully, and regardless of if you the player create him, he is always the true final Persona, the final result of the Judgement Arcana.

They are inevitable.

Of course it's Ryoji and P3 Hero. How could it be anything else? These two make me sick with joy. Death has a clear favorite and in the end, gets to keep him forever.

nOTP

It's funny, because I can't think of any serious pairing with Ryoji that I wouldn't view as a crack ship? I can't see any version of Ryoji with anyone but the P3 Hero nor can I take that relationship seriously. The only other being Ryoji has an established relationship with is Aigis, and that ship comes across as black comedy. I mean, there's also Ryoji and the P3 Heroine, who he is undoubtedly head over heels for, but I see her as heavily preferring Aigis. Oops.

Wait, I did remember one! Ryoji and Junpei! I'll admit, maybe it's the sheer "dudebro" vibe of their relationship, but people pairing these two was not an outcome I expected from Reload. I've seen it enough to know those who like it aren't joking, either.

It's funny, because they're both soul-taken at the tail end of their friendship (Ryoji with P3 Hero and Junpei with Chidori) so I guess I wasn't looking for it? Then again I can't see Junpei Iori kissing a man in general. If there's a Ryoji pairing that isn't my thing, these two are the Most not my thing.

random headcanon

Ryoji memory backfill!

I've seen multiple interpretations for how Ryoji's sudden transfer, housing, and parental situations were never questioned. I like exploring this for myself, especially from Ryoji's perspective. Ryoji fully believes himself to be human until 12/2's Dark Hour. So, how does he reconcile his own situation?

This headcanon states that whenever Ryoji is prompted to answer on where he lives, what he likes, or where he went to school before, he'll often "backfill" what memories he think should be there. If it's something he should reasonably know, it'll be there.

In-game you can see a couple instances of Ryoji being stumped at simple questions, like where his class trip was going to be, but excelling at others, such as when he asks Mitsuru out to a restaurant date. According to the headcanon, he failed the class trip question because it wasn't something he anticipated, but he knew a date location because it was essential to his personality. Ryoji Mochizuki is a hearthrob, it wouldn't make sense if he didn't. So he does.

I like to think Reload Ryoji's phone is another example of this backfill, though this one spills over into material items. Ryoji thinks he should have a phone and knows he should ask for others' numbers, but when he reaches for it on his first day it isn't there.

His inconsistencies are fun.

Rapid fire small ones: his favorite color is blue, he likes sunrises but not sunsets, and he's good with children.

unpopular opinion

This may be the most unpopular opinion I have in general, but I don't believe Ryoji is bisexual. Or rather, I don't necessarily believe he must be bisexual. It's not like I'm trying to shirk representation, but I think there are so many fascinating ways that you can analyze orientation for a character. Same with gender.

Ryoji, through my interpretation, is someone who could only love the protagonist. And it doesn't have to be a sexual kind of love. There's an entire spectrum of identities in our culture that we've labeled for what Ryoji's experiences could be. It brings me joy to be able to think about how – even if Ryoji knew about these identities – he'd define himself. On top of that, would how he define himself be accurate? Would he have misunderstandings about his own identity?

There tends to be a large backlash when someone even suggests a different label for a character with one widely agreed upon, which means my gender and sexuality thoughts stay hidden away. I'm more than aware of those that insist any hint of same-sex attraction is obviously platonic and fans are reading too much into things. I'd never want to take away from an individual identifying with a character for what a fandom settles on calling them.

Though one note: it's interesting to me that from the collective opinion I've seen, people have latched onto bisexual as a label rather than pansexual despite them ostensibly meaning the same thing. Something something changing social climate. Anyway. Play around with character gender and sexuality. It's good for you.

It's a traditional New Year's celebration song. Auld Lang Syne essentially means "for old time's sake". It originates from a precursor to Scottish, and exists as a fossil word inside this otherwise Standard English prose. I find it sweet how this little, historic piece gets to survive through something that redefines it.

My favorite pictures of Ryoji are his portraits:

Sweet. Fluffy. Endlessly endeared by the way his hair flairs out. A much clearer heart shape for his face. Perfection. Special mention to his startled expression. His eyes get small and I get happy, simple as that.

Although, I'll never forgive Reload for dropping his Messiah pose:

There's an element to this portrait that's a little more unearthly, but earnest. Visually, his eyes are also a clearer parallel to Aigis's in this version.

How's BG3 been going? I wanted to see your option on the companions and story (if you've completed it yet lol). I have like 200+ hours in it so far and it's deff one of my new all time favs haha. Have you done a dark urge playthrough yet? I just finished mine it and it's really good—especially in the feels department. Anyways, I just wanted to ask one of my favorite writers opinions about my new favorite game! ❤️

Oh darling, beware the rabbit holes you stumble into. I could talk about Baldur's Gate for days upon days and still not be anywhere close to done.

Spoilers big and small, visual and text, for Baldur's Gate 3 and all previous games in the series. I have few opportunities to talk about the game so we're going all in here. You have been warned.

I've completed one playthrough and am act 2 deep into my second. First playthrough came out at 124 hours, trying to be relatively thorough, and I'd been an early access player so I always storm my way through act 1.

As for choices/options, let's do a quick rundown:

Umrae, Seldarine Drow, Monk of the Four Elements, Neutral Good

Saved the Tieflings in the grove

'Killed' Ethel

Zero interaction with the Zents

Killed a large portion of the Goblin camp

Destroyed the creepy book

Hung around far too long in the Underdark

Less so in the mountains

Did not complete Lae'zel's quest for Act 1 (I know, I know, I amended this playthrough 2)

Least friendly companion... honestly a toss up early game between Astarion and Lae'zel. Long term definitely Lae'zel.

Aylin and Isobel are my best girls, and nobody hurts my best girls.

The underdark has a bunch of new residents and I feel like Umrae has some explaining to do when she gets home.

Nobody hurts Karlach and gets away with their skulls intact.

The hells have a new two person devil kicking team and a nice house to return to.

There's going to be a new bard's school in Baldur's Gate once someone cleans up the mess.

Shadowheart is going to have a house in the countryside with animals, flowers, a partner.

Lae'zel 'ascended'...

Gale is getting swimming and diving lessons.

Ok, I’ve had a Persona 5 X Shining Nikki AU rattling around in my head for a while now.

If you are interested In my ramblings continue onwards, otherwise I hope y’all have a good day/night!

The only reason this AU exists is because I think P5 and SN’s stories are surprisingly similar in theme. Just with the “let’s believe in humanity and save it while using powers that come from a place between reality and myth” thing going on. Also, I’m not super into angst or lore in this AU. I could conjure up some if people are interested, but most of this is fluff headcannonimg. Also Also this is a chaotic mess of a post, so apologies for very disjointed thoughts at times, but I couldn’t care more for organization right now.

In my own personal head cannon of SN, the way I describe how styling power works is that, stylists can use and or make their own Designer Reflections freely, however they cannot use other people’s. (Ex: Nikki can use her own, but she can’t use Momo DR). The only person who can use DR made by another stylist is the player. (My player is named Lily Kayla so that is what I will be referring to her as!). Nikki simply has more styling power than most people and Lily Kayla is the one who channels other DRs for Nikki to use.

Now, I don’t particularly care whether Nikki, Lily Kayla, and Momo go to the P5 universe, or if the Phantom Thieves go the SN universe. I have ideas for both which I will now ramble about. SN in P5 is here if you scroll down a bit.

Phantom Thieves in the Shining Nikki Universe

If the PTs go to the SN universe, I think they would be considered stylists and their Persona would transfer over into having a main style. Here’s a list that I will makeup on the spot now along with which nation style they would best fit into!

Joker: cool, north or apple

Mona: cool or cute, apple

Skull: fresh, apple

Panther: Sexy or cute, apple

Fox: elegant, cloud

Queen: cool or sexy, north

Oracle: cool, wasteland or ruin

Noir: cute, pigeon or Ninir

Crow: elegant and then cool, Ninir change to north

Violet: elegant or cute, Ninir or pigeon

There’s a lot of “cool” in there I know, but I just think it fits.

And now jumping into character interactions because that’s the main reason why I like crossover stuff in the first place.

I think Lily Kayla would totally show the ark off to the PTs. She would also show off a lot of DRs which she has acquired. Sorika (SN’s version of the gentlewoman thief) would definitely be on the list to show off. I think Lily would also show off or meet up with Ai, simply for Futaba’s sake. I could also see possibly something coming up the Justiciars and the PTs could go and meet Zoey’s crew. Maybe Zoey could show Ann more ways to use her whip along with general gun skills. I’d like to think that Nikki would surprise them with how good her gun skills are, or something of the sort.

Lily Kayla, Nikki, and Momo would definitely take the PTs on like, a small tour or something (I have no idea how big Miraland actually is). Yusuke would definitely get lost looking at something and I think he would just have a good time in general. I also want the cat not cats to talk to each other. See how that conversation would go or something. I think Futaba would also freak out at the prospect of Ruin Island until the Phantom Thieves come to find out what happened.

The entire Glow arc along side Modric having the ability the remove people memories with music could definitely be connected with Maruki’s entire thing. The PTs and the Shining Gang would have some interesting topics that they could convene on.

Oh! Nikki and Lily Kayla would definitely dress the PTs up with their extensive wardrobe. I actually have a picture I drew of the PTs in casual outfits, but I won’t add it here because I’m not even halfway through and I could still keep going. I also think Lily would like to show off their models guns and swords which they own for the purpose of ✨fashion✨. That’s mostly the gist of this half of the au. There’s definitely more that I’ve thought of, but I’ll cut this part short before it turns into a small fanfiction.

Shining Nikki in the Persona 5 Universe

I think that Nikki and Lily Kayla would be in the P5 universe thanks to one of Aeon’s experiments. They would initially end up in Momentos, and whether they met the PTs while they were in Momentos or after they escape from it, I don’t really care. I’m just kinda open to anything really.

Because Lily Kayla is the only one who has access to multiple DRs, I think she would be placed in the wildcard/velvet attendant spot. Specifically, I think she would be Nikki’s velvet attendant and Nikki would be considered the wild card. I think that upon first arrival that Justine and Caroline would throw her in a jail cell and Joker would have to bargain with them (maybe a plea deal or something) to get her out. From then on Lily doesn’t go near the Velvet Room anymore. (I also have a drawing of Lily in an attendant outfit, but as stated before, unless someone asks for it I’ll leave it for a different post). (I should also make Nikki a PT outfit!!).

DRs would change from having style elements to Metaverse Elements. Here are a few outfits I think would get used often and what element I think they would have. (Btw, I’m going off of my own personal collection, so if there’s a better DR which would fit an element that I don’t have, that’s why I didn’t mention it! :)) (also please keep in mind that I’ve never actually played P5 or P5R, I’ve just watched RTgame play it on twitch/youtube)

But, general overview, most of Zoey’s DR are gonna by gun/physical, Caprico’s or anyone from Ruin is gonna be Nuke or Electric, Lilith’s Curse/Dark, Nikki, Stars, and Light elves are Bless/Light, etc. etc. (if you want to know more then ask and I’ll respond!)

I think Lily Kayla in the real world (outside of Momentos) would be incorporeal. Kinda like Morgana where unless you’ve seen them in the Metaverse or know that they exist, they’ll be a ghost or Phantom (haha) otherwise.

Speaking of Lily Kayla!! Because she is basically my OC at this point I have some extra points I’d like to bring up. She’d probably make the connection from the Velvet Room to the Ark and talk to either Justine and Caroline or Joker about the Sea of Souls vs the Ocean of Memories. I think Lily Kayla would rope Nikki into telling the PTs about how they defeated the Goddess of Desire from their world sometime after the PTs explain how Momentos and Palaces work. Also, she’d be absolutely horrified by the fusions. Perhaps ever traumatized. Lily’s way of summoning DR in this world is through her mirror thing. As long as she has that, I kinda think it would work like a compendium of sorts.

When the DRs get summoned in Momentos, Lily and Nikki can control what elements from the outfit and the memory get summoned. Key word can. Most of the time I think they would just summon the whole outfit and memory to save the trouble, but I do think in certain times that specific parts of an outfit could be summoned at a time. (Ex: like only summoning Zoey’s Gun, Netga’s Mech or any other accessory to an outfit. With only summoning memories, it’d only be so that Lily or Nikki could talk to them or get advice from them).

Now for outside stuff that could happen!! Maybe once Lily Kayla becomes more physical (or maybe not I’m not picky) she and Nikki would probably just hang around the PTs and maybe crash at someone’s place. (Probably Haru’s). Joker (I’m calling P5 Protag Joker because I don’t have a preference on his name) would make them curry and I know that Nikki would fall in love with it. She’d probably want to cook with Joker sometime, but Lily Kayla would stop her before she could make something that even Yexiao couldn’t swallow.

Depending on how you interpret NG+, Nikki and Joker could get along with being tortured time travel buddies. Joker and Lily could get along we being the receptive “wildcard” of their group too. Lily would still probably introduce the thieves to a few of their friends from back home by summoning their memories.

Okay!! This post is long enough, I’m definitely cutting myself off here!! If even one person asks more about this insane crossover, then I’d be happy to write more about it, but for now this will satisfy me! If anyone gets to the bottom of this post, congrats! 5 Common Stereotypes to Avoid: African-Americans

As humans we naturally stereotype whether we like to admit or not. Many of us are exposed to hundreds of stereotypes everyday about all sorts of demographics, and we frequently fall trapped into without ever realizing.

Stereotypes are always negative either, there are hundreds of positive stereotypes, and each can be harmful in its own way.

Now it’s also best to remember some of these facts and traits are acceptable onto any character, but do look closely to make sure you aren’t just adding them as a stereotype and that they make sense for the character. This applies to any for of creative media.

The Stereotypes and Origins

1. Being unable to Swim

This is a common stereotype, especially in older media, and it’s origins are quite sinister. As very well known the United States remained very hostile to people of color way after slavery was abolished. One of the major ways they maintained this hostility was through segregation. Public pools did not allow black people in, therefor many in urban areas never learned to. Overtime this became a stereotype for African-Americans, and many old shows remind of this by using it as a form of joke gimmick.

2. Love for Watermelon and Fried Chicken

This one always bothered me growing up, because I am part African-American, and happen to be a vegetarian. People would always respond shocked in such an annoying way to that information. Now the origins...

For watermelon, it originated as a result of the civil war, due to African-American’s appreciation of being given even a little bit of fruit being misinterpreted and twisted by white people at the time. They used that imagery to paint a picture of a simple minded people. Eventually old newspapers, a racist song from the 1870s, and continued references to it throughout culture germinated the stereotype.

For chicken, it had a very similar origin. Chicken has been a prominent food in southern diets of the United States for a long time. Chicken itself was also viewed as a cheaper and less high class food, being served to primarily slaves a cheap way to feed them. Overtime this too turned into a stereotype, constantly being reiterated by soul food, fried chicken, and more.

3. Basketball

An estranged love and tremendous skill in basketball became one of the positive stereotypes, but again these can be harmful in their own ways. My older sister herself was a basketball player, and attended rural American schools in her early teens. She was at some point subjected to slurs by an opposing rural all white team, and upon her team winning they blamed the victory on the fact that a person of color was on their team.

This stereotype actually originates against two demographic, from the idea that white people cannot jump, and that African-Americans are athletically superior in specific ways. The origins are mostly pointed towards that the average height of several African nations is quite tall, and that a few ethnicities from Africa have a genetic upperhand on running long distance. This is more amplified that the prolonged American belief of white people sports, and black people sports.

4. The angry black woman

I honestly still see this one frequently, and it has taken on many different names over the years.

This stereotype originates from an older racist and sexist ideal known as the sapphire stereotype; which depicted a domineering overly strong black female, and was also aided from the assertive mammy stereotype. This one evolved overtime in a contemporary stereotype of the constantly angry loud domineering independent strong black woman. This one struggles to go away as many of the younger generations of people of color have witnessed this stereotype among influencers and celebrities, mimicking their behavior, not knowing they are reviving a stereotype.

5. The racism, thievery, and murderers

You know. I know. And we all the origins here. Just don’t. Pls.

omg I don't talk about him much but I actually really love satellite characters and ness is totally kaiser's satellite

since I don't talk about ness that much I'm pouring everything into this one post lol, so brushing everything under the cut to spare everyone the long essay. also, obligatory disclaimer that my thoughts on him will probably change once we get his backstory.

I think ness is an interesting character to have in the germany team because BM is all about rationality and the rational part here is to rely on and support kaiser to score. if blue lock shakes up that system, is ness "rational" enough to support other players if it's the logical thing to do, even if (especially if) it's against kaiser, or will he stick by kaiser anyway? tbh I don't know enough about him to say, but I'm willing to bet he's actually more loyal than logical, but that loyalty didn't come from nothing! maybe he truly believes kaiser is better than everyone and he is the best strategy, or maybe his loyalty just happens to coincide with what is the best strategy right now. but I'm really betting his loyalty trumps "rationality" because just look at his eyes here after isagi steals the ball and assist kunigami

he's such a smiley, cheery person usually. I wonder what his backstory is...

we already know that the chain designs are deliberately drawn in ways that say something about the character (like sae's broken and golden chains, kaiser's clear chain, etc). ness's chain having blue roses is kinda a given since he makes it his goal to direct the plays around kaiser and it's probably also holding him back since he doesn't cultivate his own "ego" outside of it. what is ness outside of kaiser? how do we define him without kaiser in the picture?

I would love to get a ness arc to explore the implications of this picture!!

we already know plenty of characters like him with similar roles/skills but they can stand on their own (tabito, hiori, heck even isagi himself) and/or are growing past their need to be defined as a shadow of someone else's talents (reo). he's a nice contrast to all of that. I don't necessarily think he needs to get rid of or surpass kaiser for growth (like how nagi and reo broke up), but maybe their relationship dynamics can change. like how bachira didn't necessarily move on from isagi to surpass him, but their relationship changed to one where they constantly challenge each other to be better. as much as ness is defined around kaiser, kaiser is also only able to prop himself up because of ness and that doesn't have to change. I mean, rose thorn imagery aside, their relationship seems (for now) waaay healthier than reonagi and even rin and sae back when rin was just as obsessed with being sae's right hand man (see the post's tags for more on this topic).

(tangent: tbh I think the reason why isagi can't beat kaiser yet despite learning to do meta vision at will is because he forgets that kaiser is relying on two sets of eyes... ness is right there with probably the same vision skills so together they consume less energy to control the field unlike isagi who just solos it)

idk if we'll ever see it but I would love to see some story moments that contrasts him with kurona (who, in order to stay in the team, chose to be isagi's satellite), hiori (the OG isagi satellite and cheerleader!! but currently benched...), and reo (who is trying to move on from being nagi's satellite but damn the reonagisagi thing just keeps getting messier and messier. I really feel bad for the guy). I think there's potential in exploring ness's character with these other three as foils.

(another tangent: I've been wondering why his chain becomes transparent at the back but I saw someone point out that it could be because it connects to kaiser's. super neat detail!!)

I think ness has more control over the team than is apparent, he's just not loud about it like kaiser is. it's like... if kaiser is the director of a play, ness is the stage manager that makes it all happen, y'know? kaiser might be the star but I think they both know and understand that ness holds just as much power here. but he's a super chill guy who's got a handle on things so I'd love to see what makes him mad. this is blue lock! we deserve to see a truly pissed off ness!!

outside of plot, and more into fanon territory: I think he holds 90% of kaiser's impulse control; he would make a great mom friend (how come no one thought of giving the blue lock kids the magical mikage translation earbuds until he arrived?? also he probably knows how to calm down a Kasier Tantrum if it happens); he would probably be down for a karaoke/hangout chapter with the blue lock kids; he either has anger management issues deep inside OR he already took care of that in therapy and is now just living his mostly-chill but pretty-obsessed happy life being the stage magician for kaiser

further fanon delusions: I hope they turn out to be childhood friends. omg wait, even better: I hope the twist is that kaiser actually got a blue rose tattoo because of ness............. because ness genuinely thinks he can "attain the impossible" (one of the things a blue rose symbolizes) and kaiser got that tattoo'd as a reminder to himself. oh man, that would be nice I think. I think it would be fun to flip the script and make ness the hidden reason for kaiser's existence even though on the outside it seems like the other way around.

but lol maybe kaiser really is just a dramatic person that likes blue roses and maybe ness really is just a super big kaiser fan. I have no problem with that too!! these two are just theater kids playing football tbh!!

the pokemon thing's fun so imma make teams for Karasuno.

Third Years

Daichi- We're gonna stick with early gens for Daichi's team with Steelix, Regirock, Roselia, Meganium, Starling and Slaking. I wanted to keep him with types associated with the Earth so Ground, Rock, and Grass for the most part with Slaking being the only exception. Steelix and Regirock are both Rock types with great defense stats to mirror Daichi's great defense skills and Meganium's got the most balanced base stats out of all the starters which matches how balanced a player Daichi is. Slaking's got great stats too and a really good attack stat because the quote "he's not part of the defense line, he's an attacker who can defend" is fundamental to my understanding of Daichi as a character and needs to be included. I don't have much reasoning for Roselia other than the fact I can picture him with one so clearly in my head but I think it'd be fun to give him a poison type. The Starling was added last because it bugged me that the captain of Karasuno didn't have a single flying type on his team so obviously I had to give him the most aggressive one because of course Daichi would have a difficult pokemon (matches his difficult team hah)

Suga- I'm giving Suga all the cute but deceptively strong pokemon here with Dunsparce, Chimecho, Mawile, Vulpix, Mantine and Zorua. Dunsparce has pretty terrible stats but it's got a great range of moves that it can learn with experience and one of Suga's greatest strengths on the court is his experience so I found it fitting. Additionally, Dunsparce is characterized by its flight response and in the beginning of the series, Suga struggles with being under pressure/in the spotlight. Chimecho is clever, beautiful and can knock out opponents way bigger than itself so it's apt. Mawile fits that description too but more importantly, I think tiny, vicious, and powerful is a fitting metaphor for Noya and you know i'll bring my Noya/Asahi/Suga connections onto every au of all time. On a similar note, Vulpix is there due to it being the counterpart to Asashi's Growlithe. The Mantine's because he needed a flying type and after scouring the pokedex this one fit best and I don't have much on an explanation for Zorua other than the fact I really want Suga to have one. I tried sticking to Normal types for the most part, especially ones with interesting secondary types like Mawile's steel/normal and zorua's ghost/normal. Note: Swanna was briefly considered and then disgarded. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't make it fit him.

Asahi- Emolga, Torkoal, Audino, Bewear, Tranquill, and Growlithe. No specific types for Asahi but I did stick to pokemon that are nonthreatening. Audino and Tranquill were specifically chosen for their soothing, calm natures while Emolga's represents Noya and Growlithe is the counterpart to Suga's Vulpix. I also think Asahi deserves to be surrounded by pokemon that can protect him so he's got Bewear the normal/fighting type and Torkoal with great defense stats. With Bewear specifically, it looks cute but is considered the most dangerous pokemon in Alola aka the opposite of Asahi who seems like a gang leader but is super nice and a bit wimpy. Bewear can also crush its trainer to death and I think that's a nice way to translate the threat of being an ace into the pokemon world. The Torkoal also helped add some type variety which was desperately needed.

Second Years

Tanaka- Drampa, Blaziken, Butterfree, Braviary and Rhydon. Making him a dragon-type trainer was contemplated but then I figured it was too heavy-handed, even for me, so instead I leaned more into fighting types and pokemon known for their loyalty/bravery. So you've got the valiant "sky warrior" Braviary, dragon type Drampa who would burn someone's home to the ground if they bullied its friend, the fire/fighting Blaziken, and heavy hitter Rhydon. Butterfree is there for the vibes. It's a nice mix of types that I think suit Tanaka, fighting, fire, and dragon along with the classic Karasuno flying. I did contemplate Machamp because I think it would mesh well with Tanaka's personality but I didn't want to give him a full team nor take Butterfree away.

Ennoshita- Houndoon, Honchcrow, Slowbro, Shiftry, Wobbuffet. Is this team ridiculously overpowered? Probably but we can only have the best, most intimidating pokemon for our favourite mob boss. Ennoshita's team was picked more for aesthetic, their pokedex descriptions and typology (i favoured dark types) over stats. Honchcrow was the first and most obvious pick because it physically resembles a mob boss followed by Houndoon which is basically a one headed Cerberus. Shiftry too is known to terrify people but it's also a dual grass type to keep in line with Karasuno's captains having Grass pokemon. (This was unintentional and realized in hindsight after the teams were created lol) Slowbro and Wobbuffet are the metaphorical mob thugs/bodyguards in this scenario because Slowbro's a heavy hitter and Wobbuffet is banned in competition for a reason (because it's a broken pokemon, this thing can beat any opponent you throw at it)

Noya's was the second most fun team to pick after Ennoshita's because I could get away with giving him some super flashy and/or powerful pokemon (as if this isn't my own au and i couldn't do whatever i wanted anyway) so Milotic, Metagross, Chansey, Hawlucha, Granbul. Milotic for the cool design and power as well as an ode to his marlin fishing days, Metagross because of the pseudo-legendary stats, Chansey as a nod to Suga (also because if you've ever battled one of those things you'll know it's annnoyingly hard to defeat which i imagine is a lot like trying to get past Noya's defenses) Granbul is Asahi in pokemon form, and Hawlucha just reminded me of Noya himself.

Kinoshita- This one was the hardest for me but he gets Makuhita, Swellow, and Skiploom. Makuhita is known as the Guts Pokemon which is beyond fitting for a guy that tries as much as Kinoshita does. Swellow for Karasuno's flying type and Skiploom based on a general feeling.

Narita- Narita's the type of guy that can come fresh onto the court and play normally so he gets some reliable, adaptable pokemon in Crobat, Sableye, Ditto, Smeargle. Am I giving too much to the second years? Maybe but you can't stop me

First Years

Yamaguchi - Snivy, Umbreon, Deerling, Lilligant, Tropius. I explained most of these in that one inthetags post a couple hours ago but he didn't have a flying type and I wanted to keep him as deep into grass type pokemon as possible and flying/grass dual types are a slim category of which i hate most of them so Trophius it is. Helps that it resembles a dinosaur.

Hinata - Pidgeot, Mimikyu, Riolu, Skidoo. Same thing except for the last one because I forgot about giving Hinata some type of mountain associated pokemon. I thought about giving him a Rookidee because it's small, fierce and evolves to be one of the strongest flying pokemon but then I figured it was a better fit for Hoshiumi. All of Hinata's pokemon except Pidgeot were purposefully picked to be on the smaller side + ones that don't evolve/are on their lowest evolutionary form.

Kageyama- Ninjask, Espeon, Kirlia, Alakazam, Phantump and Cubone. Originally, I was only going to have either Phantump or Cubone but honestly, why not both. I think he gets Cubone very soon after his grandpa dies - a shunned, mourning boy and his equally shunned, mourning pokemon- and then finds Phantump later on and decides to keep it because he's tenderhearted. Espeon is practically Kageyama's spirit animal. It's rare, has premonition, is insanely loyal, and gains power by bathing in sunlight (*cough* HINATA). Psychic types suit Kageyama well so he also gets Kirlia which is another psychic with premonition and also association with sunlight. He also gets Alakazam who wasn't originally on here before I decided Tobio should get a full team of 6 and what better than an Alakazam he got from his grandfather? This gets rounded off with Ninjask, both because Kageyama 'speed is everything' Tobio would def be interested in Ninjask's crazy speed stats and because it's the pokemon embodiment of Hinata (small, fast, few skills outside of speed).

Tsukishima - Bastion, Nincada, Leafeon, Quilfish, Deino. Quilfish are just as prickly as Tsukki is so that was an immediate yes and Leafeon is pokemon Tadashi so also an immediete yes. The Deino latched itself onto Tsukki and despite all of Tsukki's attempts, it won't leave him alone. (It's pokemon Hinata lmfao). Nincada was chosen for it's high defense along with it having great senses but it's definitely a plus that nincadas hate sunlight and its evolutionary forms are either pokemon hinata or a moon metaphor. I debated between Larvitar and Bastion because Larvitars take a long time to come to the surface and I thought it was a good parallel to Tsukki taking a lot of time to start trying in volleyball but Bastion's got great defense stats, is a fossil pokemon and is literally also the shield pokemon so I went with that instead. (too heavyhanded with a metaphor? me? never) I did want to give him more of a ghost/dark team but it ended up pretty diverse.

Part 2 of my long Analyis of the Hello Puppets midnight show trailer!

First and foremost, please check the prior parts for congruency and seeing other interesting details and stupid jokes I added to this:

Here's a quick important note that you need to read first before diving into this long messy post:

If you see this TW this will signify a trigger warning. I'll try to give some space to avoid individuals who do not which to see it time to skip it. SAFE means that you can read this part ^^

SPOILERS!!! is a new addition to those who do not want to be spoiled over certain puzzles presented in the BETA. END!!! means they are done

Without further ado let's continue!

Recap: I analyzed and gave silly commentary up to the trailer's start to Riley's ending introduction. To compensate here's a silly joke:

Well, ignore the red haired puppet who was clearly not trying to kill you. She just woke up and chose violence, let's meet the mom friend of the group!

*Cuts to Daisy*

Can we take a moment to appreciate how adorable Daisy's puppet is? She certainly looks like the sweetest and I really love her animation during this portion of the trailer. Also...how's that pie giving out smoke

Vending machine out of service. It's pointless, but it was distracting me :P

We also got MAPS!!!!!

And yes, each character level has their own map with their respective character. I also noticed the notes!

@sarilolla did point out during a quick sneak and peak videos that the official Hello Puppets account released, there were notes. They pointed out that we may have an ally

The other one is hard to read but I figured out the message but I also noticed something as well.

I managed to see what it reads and it says "Just play along" I believe this is actually one of the puppets trying to trick ya into confusing the notes because the notes of our ally are in black not red. So the Handeemen are playing dirty in this!

This is the best picture I can get but it looks we are gonna get an exclusive game for each of the puppets

That is the best assumption of why we got Daisy's icon specifically, but this is also one of her levels

Not a nitpick, actually. I'm not really bothered by it and I appreciate how the devs used as many resources as they could.

Ok, now let's get to another important detail for the game

I remember this type of puzzle for one of Sewingsilly's gameplay of the BETA version but I can't remember which part it was. It was similar but it was a Riley level, this is a Nick Nack level.

SPOILERS for the puzzle!!!

So the whole gimmick of this puzzle, the puppet you see in the middle of the box, is representing the puppet of the puzzle you are doing. (In Sewingsilly's vid, the hand puppet was holding a beaker to represent Riley, a character did not look like her at all. It appears that maybe we're goin to get a hand puppet similar to them.It took me a while to realize it looked like Nick) So this little bastard is asking that you become their best friend

Sounds easy enough, but apparently their friendship has a prize. Nice

So this character will be asking you to bring them three things. It;s all related to them and it's scattered around the level I believe.

I'd say, perhaps Paige still has feelings for him and hoping that when he returns they could pick up where they left off (and vice versa). However, when Glen returns, perhaps some supernatural stuffs happened around Paige, and they could find out that she's a whitelighter together or not. But regardless, Paige would love to has her buddy around. If they would end up being together or not, is up to the player to decide. Glen and Paige should be the same, or similar in age (hence 26/ 27 years old). And he should count as a canon. The FC I am suggesting is Cody Christian, you can also use Colin Woodell, or anyone you feel is appropriate for this character, really. I am very open FC wise.

Kyle Brody ❥ Canon ❥ Human ❥ Early - Late 30s ❥ FBI Agent

Agent Kyle Brody, a Homeland Security agent who possessed vast knowledge of the supernatural world, more specifically witches and the Avatars. If you'd like to make him not as aware of the Avatars and blindsided by his urge to revenge, it would also be great. I like his character specifically cause he's morally grey, like he is good because he would do anything to help those needed his assistance, at the same time, he would hurt anyone standing in his way. I was thinking that his investigation of the Halliwell sisters has him crossing Paige's way, and maybe Paige found out about that her (potential, because she doesn't know yet) half-sisters are witches that way. In the middle if things get heated up, you know, they are both gorgeous people. Kyle is a canon, while I placed Nathaniel Buzolic here as a suggested FC, you do not have to pick him if you'd like to keep Kyle as a younger character. Know that if you're picking Nathaniel as suggested, Kyle will be in his mid to late 30s right now. Collin Woodell is another good choice since he's Danielle's real life partner and they too have tons of cute pictures we can actually spam each other. I am open to other suggestions too if you have a preference, feel free to run them by me.

For Leo Wyatt

This is more of a plot wanted than an actual wanted ad. So here we have Leo Wyatt, who I believe everyone following the Charmed franchise is familiar with! However, Leo we have here is not exactly like the Leo we have in the show. Our Leo here is a little rougher on the edges. He's still kind, he's still wise, and he still loves Piper more than anything in the world, but no one would call Leo a pacifist. His experience with Piper and realizing that the Elders' way being a little more than outdated, Leo isn't someone who would obey their rules and instructions anymore. Our Leo here is willing to fight. He will fight along with his charges if that's what he needs to do to protect them. He has also gained hand-to-hand combat skills and know how to use his Whitelighter powers in an offensive ways (like using orbs to levitate, orbing-telekinesis etc). So where did Leo learned all these skills you may ask, because from what we know of the Elders, they are not going to train their agents to fight. No, Leo actually found a band of Whitelighters who have been training to fight, Whitelighters who believe in more than just guiding and hiding behind witches' backs. This band of Whitelighters are called "The Rogues", and I am thinking there should have about 9 - 12 members. Let's keep it to a small group for now. I don't think The Rogues are evil, they just have their own freewill and have different believes than the Elders. They practice to fight and practice to use their powers to help the Greater Good in a more active ways than traditional Whitelighters would. They each could have their own stories that lead them down on this path.

Here we have "Lydia" which of course, does not have to be the name you pick. What I have in mind is that she has the ability of foresight and is able to warn the group about it, but if you'd like to change her ability, I'm open for it as well. Open personality and history, I am also leaving her age open, so she can be older or younger than Leo, but she would have been in the group longer than Leo because Leo was one of their newer recruit. I'd suggest the lovely Holland Roden as an FC, if you'd like to use someone else though, of course, feel free to run the idea by me. Suggested FC: Holland Roden.

Let me introduce you to "Malia", who I'd imaging being the snarky one in the group. I'd like her to be like, the trouble child of the Whitelighter and maybe even one of the few who has started with The Rogue. But like the other two, I'd leave her details to be mostly open so that you can have freedom to create this character. I'd definitely imagine her to be older than Leo, but still open age, open history, personality (if you do not like her to be snarky). Suggested FC is Shelley Hennig, you don't have to use her but I'd like to see more Teen Wolf actors/ actresses around the site and also for plotting purpose. Suggested FC: Shelley Hennig.

Artist Challenge "Dimpro"

Diversity and Improvement ==> Dimpro

I thought of this while texting a friend and it seemed fun at the time. Plus I’ve wanted to improve my art for quite some time, so here we go! A list of things I (and probably others along with me) have had trouble with and, in my opinion, would, not only improve, but also diversify your art!

Dimpro challenge!

1. Yourself

Introduce yourself by drawing yourself, the pose and clothes you’re in or the way you see yourself :)

2. Perspective following a dynamic motion

Animation often follows the motion of the action (e.g., a baseball player but the camera is looking at them from the bat, someone running but the pov is from the ground looking up etc.) It gives the illustration a dynamic feel (plus it looks cool;))

3. Hands and legs (+ at least 3 pairs of shoes)

Since they seem to be a difficulty to many, let’s finish this off in the beginning. (Shoes must be different types, can’t be all, for example, boots, or all sneakers, etc.)

4. A fight scene/a spots event (bonus if it’s a short comic)

Again – for dynamics and motion

5. A cyborg/steampunk

I’ve always had trouble with doing cogs/robot parts etc. This is to make it more fun. Remember to use a lot of references!

6. Vehicles/means of transport (+- someone in it)

Self-explanatory. Do trams, cars, bikes, etc.

7. A furry/anthropomorphic animal

Someone once said that furrys were the best artists because no one made the art they wanted, so they had to do it themselves. So, design yourself a cool little furry/anthropomorphic animal. If you don’t want to make one, Disney has made enough anthropomorphic animals that one can chose from ;)

Preferably use an animal you have trouble drawing/don’t draw often.

8. An animal (must be different from your furry)

Draw a regular animal (or maybe a bunch of animals). Don’t make it the same as the furry, we need diversity after all!

9. A feral animal (not the same as 7.)

10. An unusual piece of architecture/exterior

Draw a complicated or some sort of fantasy building. It helps with perspective (bonus points for more details)

11. A homeless man, a 12-year-old boy and a hooker (bonus if in one frame)

This is from a song, but character diversity is important, so what better than this. Bonus points for creativity if they’re in the same scene and/or interacting.

12. A band on stage

Preferably find a reference picture of a stage performance and illustrate it. (reminder to use reference.)

13. Strong perspective/fisheye

With reference! Link reference as well :)))

14. Bird view of a city (may include the bird itself)

Similar as the fisheye one, but from bird flight hight.

15. A monster/cryptid/strongly non-human creature

This one is just for fun. Thinking of monster anatomy, bone structure etc. can be fun, so go wild!

16. An illustration of what a fly sees (multiple hexagons and everything)

17. A character sheet (with outfits and expressions) for a website generated OC

If you don’t know how/want to search for a generator, here are some I like:

18. A short motion picture/action frames for an action your website generated OC (around 5 frames?)

You don’t have to study/want to be an animator to see that doing the outlines of animations will help improve your sense for movement/motion. It can be the simplest of tasks like picking up a piece of garbage or pointing at something passing by.

19. Interior

As important as exterior, and almost as neglected. Draw your workplace or a café you enjoy! Use reference!

20. A grumpy old person/grandma(?)

Combining facial expressions and wrinkles/more complicated facial features is important.

21. A back alley

Have fun with this one :)))

22. Design a trashcan (with a personality)

Give the garbage bin a personality. Treat it as if you’re making a character sheet all over again (accept this time it’s an inanimate object.)

23. A biome of choice

Scenery, nature, do as you’d like.

24. Free

Do whatever you want

25. Yourself

As a goodbye and to show your progress ;)))

No deadline, improvement shouldn't be rushed!

Marble hornets!stuck thoughts bc its that time of night again and talking into the void of shit nobody cares abt is my thing and bc this has been brewing in my head for half a year now i think? Some of these are disconnected thoughts and concepts that dont work together

their session is a horribly glitched out seemingly void session where the white queen and black queen were not separate entities (may also include black king and white king idk!) (this is the operator)

This entity is also their first guardian. Lord english esque in how it perpetuates its own creation (yknow how arasol found the code for sgrub. I think it does smth similar w tapes or some other method. Arg to find your sburb disc loser) and in how it seems almost to have always been present in the life of tim (you know) and alex (birthday video)

Possibility: Alex discovered the sburb code or whatever the mechanism was and tried to hide it thinking it would prevent the apocalypse from happening. It doesnt and never would have. Jay finds them i think (maybe for a while alex blames jay for the apocalypse bc he couldnt keep his goddamn nose out of it)

as an amalgam of four game constructs (WQ BQ BK WK) it is considered the exile of the main four (alex, brian, tim, and jay) and indirectly fucks them via “commands” on the computer terminal. Tims pills run interference for whatever reason.

Brian (as hoodie) eventually gains access to his terminal and occasionally through “hacking”, the terminals of the other four guys. TTA brainblasts you w audio visual hallucinations sometimes

Jessica, seth, amy, and sarah have “normal” exiles. Thank god

Heres a fucked up thought: tim and alex have opposing views on initiating the scratch. Who is on what side probably requires a more nuanced understanding of their characters than what i have but heres an attempt to pick a side for each and figure out reasoning:

So first of all neither character has a perfect understanding of what the scratch truly is or how it works. They do not have a doc scratch or trolls to yell at them for universe cancer so there is no real way for them to have a full picture of the implications of doing this.

alex is actually for NOT initiating the scratchz his reaction to finding out they “caused” the end of the world (or more accurately were harbingers of that end) is “we all deserve to die.”, heavily rooted in christian/cartholic (i am tired sorry for conflating the two) guilt for what i hope are Obvious Reasons and the whole “you need to kill everyone and then yourself” thing. Additionally does not believe the scratch will destroy the operator (he is right) so trapping it in this dead universe is the best they can do in his eyes (he can not actually hope to trap it). Sees them all as infected by it but ESPECIALLY Tim as “the source” (why? I dont know. I think it favored him as a doom player. Tim being a doom player also makes him the most literally representation of everything alex hates and resents about the situation).

Tim is for initiating the scratch. He believes that the scratch will wipe out the operator for good (it wont). I had mlre thoughts on this but i got sjdetracked sorry

Jessica survives the scratch somehow

Maybe she is hidden away by tim before the scratch starts, maybe he even is able to hide with her from it? Would imply tim knows the scratch is surviveable and thus the operator could escape from it but would also reflect how his self preservation kind of outweighs any desire to be a martyr unlike alex. Tim Will Survive a la final girl? I had better ways of expressing this thought but i lost it. If you look at this and say “you dont know what youre talking about” you are so correct

Either way, due to tims planning or a glitch in their already buggy session, she falls through the fabric of spacetime and into the new universe but loses all her memories/has a fuzzy recollection.

If tim does survive this could explain how she is able to be situated in a universe where she should not exist (he got everything arranged the way sburb guardians (non first ones) would)

This is how marble hornets comic happens and that cast would get involved

Have you considered skully sprite for your troubles. Yes? Okay i dont have a more developed thought than that i spedread the comics from excitement and did. Not internalize the meaningful stuff bc im small brained

….i just rmbrd the ^2sprites and. Thinking sbt that in relation to skullysprite is… yeah id be wanting to fix the broken too if i was an amalgam of several dead bodies shoved into a sprite in this timeline (maybe)

Anyway this sessions FOR SURE players are jessica, taylor, adam (who i ALWAYS tag as seth bc i dont have a BRAIN) and david (and skully! In a way)

Weird Half-Life secret shows Gordon Freeman can actually talk, kind of

Half-Life is well-known for a variety of reasons. Even after 25 years, the Valve FPS game remains a genre mainstay, from the legendary Black Mesa labs to the ominous G-Man and always entertaining scientific NPCs. Above all, Half-Life is remembered for Gordon Freeman and his mute protagonist gimmick. Because he doesn't speak, the player can fully immerse themselves in his HEV-suited shoes and picture himself inside the Half-Life environment. But, if you find a creepy little secret in Half-Life, Gordon Freeman does, in a manner, genuinely speak. Maybe this is the big character revelation we've all been waiting for in anticipation of Half-Life 3. When you die in Half-Life, the HEV suit makes a telling little noise. We can all hear it in our heads, that final ‘beep, beep, beeeeeep’ as the suit’s vital sign readings flatline. Run in front of a turret gun. Trip the laser beam on a satchel charge. Plummet to your death from the top of a ladder. All familiar experiences to the Half-Life veteran, and all accompanied by that iconic sound effect. But where does it come from? You’d think it just emanates from the suit somehow, or plays automatically when the game detects that you’ve died. Game development, however, is rarely that simple, and it turns out Valve has a secret little trick to make the death sound effect play properly. In the Half-Life game engine, GoldSrc (pronounced ‘gold source’), sound effects have to come from some kind of in-game entity. They can’t just materialize in the world – they have to be attached to a character or, in some later versions of the engine, such as Source, an object. In Portal, for example, a lot of GLaDOS’s voice lines are ‘spoken’ by cubes and other items that are hidden off-screen. The original Half-Life uses a similar trick. I just realized Gordon makes the death sound with his mouthby u/F9klco in HalfLife In a video shared by ‘F9klco,’ we can view Gordon Freeman in third-person. After triggering a satchel charge, the poor physicist promptly explodes, and that familiar HEV beeping starts to play. But if you look closely, you can see that Gordon’s mouth is moving. That’s because the death sound is attached to Gordon as a ‘voice line.’ He’s ‘speaking’ the HEV sound. So, in a way, Gordon Freeman can talk. It’s just that he only talks when he’s dead, and the only thing he can say is a kind of R2D2 impression. This isn’t the first time recently that we’ve come upon a fascinating revelation about a beloved Half-Life character. If you’re a big fan of Valve’s shooter classic, try some of the other best old games on PC, to feed your nostalgia.
