ok but.. real talk i think ranchers is like. my number two "I actually ship this no strings or footnotes attached" ship right after ethubs.

I am usually not one to be moved by ships that are just "they are fun and healthy together and love eachother" but oh GOD the ranchers. See I think the thing is they just.. make sense for eachother even if you don't expect it until the point they realise they're soulmates.

Jimmy's situation has been talked about to hell and back at this point but Tango is also very out of his element in the life series. He says himself that pvp is not his specialty and he doesn't have the time or resources to make his skill set shine. So he ends up either somewhat ignored or outcasted for most of the games. (<-- fyi fun fact this is where the whole 'mech pilot tango' idea came from lol. i feel like he'd have a dva-style mech outside of the life series)

In particular i LOVE his relationship with team BEST and I NEED desperately to talk abt it more. the way he's constantly talked over by his own teammates, intimidated, asked to sacrifice his own lives for their sake, "tango's Easy", etc. etc.

They both have this habit of hiding their own insecurities behind a facade of boisterousness, but no matter how much either of them puff out their chests and raise their voices, their message of "please take me seriously" never seems to get through.

The Ranchers are just.. two losers against the world. and they inspire confidence within the other that they can't find in themselves. and yes the world forces them apart but you can Feel that influence they've had on one another in the background.

Yes, we're all gonna die, but isn't it cool that we laughed with eachother and made dumb jokes and adopted a frog and said "I love you" on the way there?

The Ranchers epitomize that.

They are doomed. They both know this, I think. Neither of them can fight, they're left begging for scraps by session 2, no one on the server takes either of them seriously and they lost a life literally like 10 minutes into the first episode.

But they built a home together, raised livestock, stood up for eachother. and they were happy together.

and isn't that what really matters?

and neither of them are even aware of how much they really meant to the other one. the game ends. tango tells jimmy to go home. go. they certainly don't break up to the extent of Some Other Pairings In This Series but i like to think tango distances himself, thinking jimmy would be happier with his friends and not stuck with him. jimmy thinks the same. but they still wave hi and call eachother rancher and now they're running a salad restaurant together or something i guess.

It's just.. everything that gets the two of them condemned and made fun of in their other relationships is what's Celebrated in theirs. They can just be themselves, mistakes and silliness and imperfections at all, with no pressure to perform amazing feats and make amazing stuff and I think that's great.

I AM SO SORRY THIS IS LATE 😭 I have just had no time to do literally anything but I didn’t want to let you guys down (and I miss writing </3). Reader is gender neutral!

Dream’s Spooktober 2022 👻

Mammon could sense that someone was following him.

He could feel someone’s eyes peering into his back, but whenever he turned- no one was there. Was it one of the witches looking to torture him again? Or did Lucifer finally gain wind of his new debt from the casino? Either way, he didn’t want to wait and find out, already hurrying to get back home.

But the small pitter patter of steps left him feeling uneasy and annoyed. Fine- if they were gonna try to get the jump on him, he’ll just have to do it first!

Whipping his head back, he had his mouth open to yell at them to back off-

Only no one was there.

No one but a small black cat with its back hunched, wide eyes staring into his own.

He’s honestly grateful that no one was around, because how could he explain that a little cat had him on edge?

“Oi, what gives? Are you lost or somethin’?”

All the black cat did was blink at his question, meowing loudly as if they was answering his question. He couldn’t help but laugh a bit, squatting down and rubbing behind their ears hearing their purring.

“Well either way, I can’t take you with me. Lucifer would find a way some crazy way to punish me, and Satan wouldn’t ever let you go if he got his eyes on you.” He felt the cat tense beneath his fingers, stopping their purring and meowing even louder.

“Listen, I don’t like it either, but I can’t get in trouble- I can’t take MC out if Lucifer got me strung up again!” Mammon felt a bit ridiculous talking like this- it’s not like this cat can understand him anyway- but it felt good to have someone listen to him, even if it was a runt like this. “Besides, I need all the luck I can get to score some more Grimm- can’t start getting bad luck now.”

But even as Mammon stood up and his hand left the kitty’s hand, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from them. The cat was pouting, pulling him in further- and he was falling for it.

“Oh no- you’re not pullin’ me in with that look!” Mammon turned from them, arms folded and eyes closed tight. You already suckered him enough as it is, he’s not dumb enough to fall for it again- but he still peeked open his eye to see them.

The cat looked downright pitiful- and it wasn’t helping when they practically leaped at him as a clap of thunder resounded in the air. Luckily he was fast enough to catch them, feeling the rain drops fall harder and how much they were shivering in his arms. The cat’s once sleek coat was now growing damp, and Mammon knew he couldn’t just leave them like this.

He shrugged off his jacket and wrapped the tiny animal inside of it, “Fine, you can come with me tonight- but don’t expect this special treatment to last forever, got it?!” His words held no real bite, even as his drenched locks were sticking to his face.

The cat meowed once more, happily snuggling into the little warmth they were provided. Even Mammon couldn’t help but crack a smile at how bright its eyes lit up at his words.

They reminded him of you for some reason.

Sneaking the little cat in wasn’t an issue for Mammon, but his mind was focused on other matters at the moment- like why weren’t you answering him.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit of jealousy- was your magic lessons with Solomon that important that you couldn’t shoot him a quick text? He knows that it’s important, but you could at least say something to him. He’s your first man after all! He’s been there for you way longer than that old wizard- what makes him so special that you had to ignore him?

But he also knew that you‘re not ignoring him on purpose- didn’t mean that he couldn’t be annoyed by it though.

He sucked his teeth as he tossed his phone aside, “Whatever- who needs ‘em? They’re gonna be begging for my attention as soon as they get home anyway!“ Though his words were petty, he really was a little bit worried. You’ll usually send back a sticker if you couldn’t text, and you didn’t even do that!

Something light crawled on his chest, and he soon felt something soft kneading at his pouting cheeks. Looking down, his golden-blue eyes locked with the cat’s- which strangely reflected the shade of your own eyes that he would get lost in so much (not that he ever say that out loud). Even the reassuring look that the cat was giving him resembled you-

But he didn’t stay on the thought long enough as he felt the cat rub alongside his neck, purring.

“Alright, alright- enough already ya runt!” He choked, trying to hold back his laughter from the sensation. “You don’t have to make me feel better, alright?” He held them up gently, “I know that they’re busy but…I can’t help but miss them, y’know?”

Mammon chuckled when he felt the cat lick at his hand, and then brought them back down to his chest where they crawled back to his face, touching their nose with his. He could kinda understand Satan’s obsession now-

And he didn’t know why he was pouring his heart out to them- but what else did he have to do? Maybe it was because of how attentive they were to him? It really did feel like they were listening to him.

“They mean a lot to me, and I wanna do right by them. That’s why I’m planning to take them out tomorrow as a surprise! I’ve been saving up my Grimm and staying out of trouble just to make it happen- a night with just the two of us.”

Just hearing himself say the words out loud made his cheeks dust red, but he still held the dreamy expression on his face. Was it cheesy? Of course, but imagining the beaming smile you that you would to him and only him was enough was enough to make his heart race.

“It was a hassle planning it but…MC’s worth it-“

Mammon couldn’t finish his words as a puff of smoke filled his vision, and something suddenly falling on top of him, sending him to the ground.

He choked as he tried to figure out just what the hell was happening. When the smoke finally disappeared, he froze when he locked eyes with you. Not the cat, but you, still brushing your nose with his.

It was a long silence as he looked on in a mix of confusion and horror, while you looked embarrassed, cracking a weak smile as you laid on top of him.

“Um-“ you sat up, frantically waving your hands. “Don’t freak out- I can explain!”

Mammon seemed to be in a trance, still trying to process everything. “You’re…the cat?”

You nodded.

He blinked, “Does that mean…you heard everything I said?”

You nervously wrung your fingers together and nodded again.

All he could do was stare at the ceiling in disbelief, defeated. So much was running through his mind-

You felt immensely guilty that you pretty much broke him, but it was a complete accident! You weren’t expecting the new transformation spell to turn you into a cat of all things, and losing track of Solomon didn’t help either. Being surrounded by figures who look like literal giants had you nervous-

But when your eyes landed on those familiar white locks, you immediately felt safe. Even more so as he carried you back home in the rain.

And hearing how much he wanted to do for you when he already does so much warmed your heart, even if you couldn’t say it at first.

“Hey,” you gently cradled Mammon’s face, his golden-blue jewel eyes avoiding yours. “You know I love you right?”

“Of-Of course I do.” He sputtered out, cheeks darkening. You chuckled, not surprised at his actions.

“And I appreciate everything that you do for me.” You kissed his forehead, then his cheeks, and you heard him coo a bit. “And I still wanna go on a date with you, even if it isn’t a surprise anymore.”

Mammon was still pouting, but you could feel his resolve crumbling.

“This isn’t going to ruin spending time with my first man, is it?”

“As if!” He shot straight up, almost knocking you down to the ground before you felt his arms wrap around you, steadying yourself on his lap.

It was so different being this up close to Mammon back as a human- much better too. He’s always been someone so beautiful to gaze at, and you could only imagine if this is how his fans felt just looking at his magazine covers. It was a view you always found yourself getting lost in-

And it seemed that Mammon shared the same thoughts, with the way his eyes kept flickering at your lips.

Your noses brushed once more, both of you leaning in closer and closer.

“Let’s keep this our little secret.”

Hi! Yes absolutely! I am so sorry it took so long. I haven't opened Tumblr in forever. I'm not sure if I can list down 2 characters from the same media platform once but just in case I'm not, I'll just list down one. This is based on the order I remember them by since I have really shit memory and there might've been a few fave characters I missed 🥲

I'll list down what comes to mind first haha

1. Yukine (Noragami)

-I love him SO MUCH. The first time I watched Noragami back in 2016, I knew I would love this boy with all my heart. Something about troubled and misunderstood anime kids with fucked up backstories just make me want to take care of them man. He's my adopted baby period. His character development is also very beautiful.

He's a very complex character. Idk why people shit on him for acting like a child when he is quite literally a child 😭 let him be a kid man, let him be immature, I was also immature at 14 and I'm happy for him bc he's got someone understanding by his side at all times.

I wish the ending would do justice to his character fr.

2. Kagura (Gintama)

She's funny asf. Also, strong asf. I love good female rep in anime and Kagura takes the cake for me. She has no filter, she's really cool, really funny, and just a fun and enjoyable character overall. (You should watch Gintama btw, it's my favorite anime).

3. Usopp (One Piece)

People shit on him a lot and I'm sick of it. I love him because he is SO REAL. He represents ordinary human beings in the One Piece world and I admire his bravery so much. His goal isn't even something grand, he just wants to be the bravest man who crossed the sea and I love that for him. He's a coward fr but seeing him break out of his shell and take courage to face his fears make me so emotional and proud. He inspires me to face my fears too :')

4. Izaya (Durarara!!)

He was lowkey the reason why I majored in Psychology. I love this cunning man. Watching everything go into flames bc of the shit he pulls excites me so much. I love watching him work. Totally not bc of his VA.

5. Newt (The Maze Runner Series)

Okay, this person was also real as shit. The way he's depicted in the books? Perfection. He's just so kind and caring and gentle to the gladers and to people they met during the scorch trials and ugh he deserved sm better :(

the way i have a whole 'nother blog dedicated to the maze runner series and it's always just abt him 💀 i was obsessed w him man. something abt broken/complex characters who are just so kind and tragic always have my heart.

6. Chuuya (Bungou Stray Dogs)

After I read stormbringer, I was never the same again. He is actually super sweet and super down to earth. I love him so much because he is so genuine with his intentions? Also, the shit has been through man... Yet, he still chose to live and fight. I admire that so much from him.

he is also a very complex and tragic character. i love him sm bc of that... i'm sensing a pattern here.

7. Armin (Attack on Titan)

His smartass made me fall in love with him. My boy just wanted to see the sea man. I admire his bravery so much and he gets shit ton of hate too for not kissing Eren's ass but I love him so much for standing his ground and having faith in his best friend. He was lowkey psycho too tbh. Smart men>>

8. Yuuta (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Okay, something about timid guys who are lowkey psychotic always get me going. He's a cool character and he's sexy. Period.

9. Killua (Hunter x Hunter)

ALSO MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!! He deserves the world 😭 He went through so much at 12 bro and I just want to take care of him so much bc he deserves to be a kid!!!!! Big brother Killua also has my heart. He's so sweet and caring and kind and genuine and UGH I LOVE HIM.

the way he just wanted a friend 😭 i'd gladly be his friend man if i were in the hxh universe. he's too sweet 😔 and he deserves sm better!!!

10. Jo March (Little Women)

I SEE MYSELF IN HER SO MUCH. The way she just wanted everything to stay the same even when change was inevitable and the people in her life ended up growing up. I love how as I watched her grow up, the traits that she had as a kid were still there yet she was slowly opening to change. I just relate to her so much and we are so alike in so many ways.

For example, I think the only way I can prove it is this; So originally my name was not @Jellyscreamer, it was called, get ready for this: "thecheesecakeemporiumlove" which I fucking hated because it was fucking long as shit and I thought it was super cute at the time and so original and I had the cutest pfp if you can believe that.

But then I changed my name to @jellyscreamer because I wanted to fit in with the cool kids (aka ppl like you) because y'all had these super short names that were all creative in their own ways and that was the best I could come up with at the time. Then almost immediately after I changed my name again to @thedejabluesimp which, I kept for my side blog for Avatar called @dejabluesimp.

Before ultimately deleting my account in the end because I wanted to set up an avatar blog as I stated before and working on it so that it would grow popular over time and people could send me questions, imagines, headcanons, theories on Avatar and my account @jellyscreamer was somehow hidden like you couldn't find my account even if you tried. It would show up in search results, nothing, zilch.

This is a really long and winded explanation and I am getting a little dizzy writing all of this but I have had the account @jellyscreamer, as you formerly know it as since I was (probably, dates are blurry now) in middle school. If you searched through my blog you would have found the old embarrassing art I made when I was in middle school when I thought that I would turn my blog into an art blog before quickly dropping that altogether.

I had reached the tag limit on love persevering but you NEED to know my thoughts because it was SO FUCKING GOOD OK YOU KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE BALLPARK! You got the characterization of literally everyone so perfect & I love the way you write about Fjord’s strained relationship with tickling & backed it up with canon justification ‘cause it would honestly make sense for him to feel that way about it with the way he grew up. His struggle to want to be close with his friends & engage in their playful affection but having these valid reservations about doing so is literally sooo good! & it made me so sad when Jester tried to tickle him but he was all shut off & upset & Caduceus quietly comforting her is just so 🥺 & I can tell it would be something Fjord would overthink when given the time to do so & literally just blurting out the question to Caleb in the middle of the night. Caleb’s reaction is so damn funny & genuine like that is 100% how he would response he is NOT equipped for this conversation without combusting from embarrassment. The way they all cried over Molly literally brought tears to my eyes it was so heartfelt & emotional & I was not expecting that omg. I needed to mourn him alongside the other characters, it was so cathartic. & the way they literally had a tickle fight in his memory felt so fitting & was such a mighty nein move! & THEN HE ACTUALLY SHOWED UP & ONLY CADUCEUS COULD SEE HIM?? ACTUAL PERFECTION LITERALLY THE BEST MOMENT IN ALL OF FANFICTION! & then he joined the fray & got to tickle his friends 1 last time & make them laugh & feel loved & AAAAHHHH I HAVE SO MANY EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS FIC!!!! Seriously this was amazing I am so grateful for this & for you sorry for the long tangent but I NEED you to know just how amazing & wonderful that fic is seriously you cured every ailment in my body

Yesss Fjord is SUCH an overthinker but he just keeps everything to himself and then blurts it out at the worst moment lmao. And Caleb is just starting to get used to that with regular day-to-day stuff, he’s NOT prepared for the conversation Fjord is trying to start. But he doesn’t want to push him away so he does the next best thing: Put them both in front of Cad and let him handle it 😂 There were definitely tears when I was writing them all talking about Molly, I think we all needed that mourning. And then I just couldn’t leave him out of a tickle fight being held in his honor!! You know he would find a way to show up for that if he had to petition multiple goddesses themselves! And Caduceus! What are high perception and insight characters even for if not to see the ghost of your friends’ best friend coming back to make them laugh one last time?? Ahhh Fjord and Jester, I love them so much and I was sooo sad to write Fjord rejecting Jester’s silliness this time 🥺 But he just needed some time to (over)think. When I was sitting there thinking ‘what would it take for Fjord to be okay with being tickled’ the first thing that came to my mind was Jester, it would take Jester. But it actually took all of them in different ways because that’s just how it works with the mighty nein and I love them for that. It took me forever to get into Fjord’s head for this but once I did I just fell in love with him even more, he wants to be close and playful with his friends but he’s just not sure how and he’s had so many bad experiences he doesn’t even know what to do. He’s always walking that line of trying to be cool and tough vs being vulnerable and silly with his friends and it was so fun to write that. Anyway thank YOU for sharing all your thoughts with me, it literally made my day!!!

Who makes the coffee (or tea)? mav! he’s an early bird, there’s almost always a full cup already waiting for sli by the time he makes it to the kitchen because he takes so long in the bathroom in the mornings (no he’s not shitting 💀 he just has to shower and shave because mans grows hair like no tomorrow and he stinks)

funnily enough, mav actually never drank coffee before coming to topgun, but now that he is constantly plagued by the horrors a cup of coffee does wonders for him throughout the day. however he is not allowed to have more than one cup per day or there will be consequences per the wrath of one iceman kazansky

16. Who is scared of thunderstorms? i don’t think either of them are scared of thunderstorms per se, but sometimes when mav dreams about hop 31 the nightmares fuck him up pretty bad… he’s flown through a lot worse though.

also i personally think the fandom hc that mav is afraid of ghosts is infinitely funnier bc he would be so ridiculous about it 😭 (also slider is afraid of clowns you can’t change my mind on this)

31. Who is more affectionate? ice: you guys its not a competition slider & mav, aggressively cuddling on the couch: YES IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!

but if id have to say its gonna be slider bc that man is such a fucking teddy bear he has no shame or self-consciousness when it comes to being a sucker for mav both in public and in private meanwhile mav is more shy and reserved so hes most affectionate in private :’)

same anon as before but thank u for the interesting response! and i’m sorry in advance for this long venting lol, but honestly i’m just really frustrated because i think fence could be as popular and mainstream as projects like check please or heartstopper if 1) there was good marketing for it, 2) if the releasing of the issues wasn’t so puzzling, and 3) if the storyline was progressing in a natural way.

rise makes no sense in context of the novels at all and im just? if they were going to have tie-in novels they should have been used to progress character and relationship development, not create an alternate world that’s never going to be addressed. even putting aside gross mischaracterization the novels literally cannot be canon so they’re just published for? no good reason i can see? they could have prequels (seiji and jesse or harvard and aiden pre-series) or been about the team bonding/getting better at fencing, or focused on side characters that won’t get as much focus in the comics (eugene! if he’s mostly being side-lined in the comics the novels could have been his time to shine instead of him being even more sidelined. or even bobby and dante or kally and tanner). there’s definitely a lot of characters in the comics and if it was getting overwhelming the novels could have picked up that slack but they didn’t so their purpose mystifies me — there was also clearly no reason to have nicholas and seiji as pov characters in those books because srb (and i do adore all srb’s other work so this is hard for me to say) was terrible at writing them. when she was good she was good (which makes me think if there had been more editing the novels could have been better) but when she was bad she was very very bad. since she was even worse at writing eugene i guess i should be glad eugene didn’t have a pov. but seriously if the novels were mainly just haiden it could have just been haiden pov.

idk i just used to love fence so much and always noticed there was never a huge following for it, which is okay because the small fence fandom is great!! but i’ve always thought it could have had a bigger audience. there is so much promise in the first issues of fence — kings row competing against exton, the revelation of the truth about nicholas, the reactions and results from that, character development for all the main characters, relationship development for nichoji & haiden, the team actually Becoming a team & the idea of seiji nicholas and eugene being the fencing team after aiden and harvard graduate. but i feel like we’re never going to see any of that. page time is spent on things that aren’t as important instead, and then it takes ages for the next issue/volume and like you said it doesn’t feel coherent or connected to the other issues anymore. it confuses me that all the edges in fence r being sanded down and that the interesting promises in it are constantly being put off.

i’m sorry for talking about this sm i have not been successful in getting anyone into fence irl 😭 i hadn’t read rise or the novels until this month and i reread vol 1-4 before i read the new stuff and it made me very nostalgic

Hi again! lmfao dude no need to ever apologize to me for vents about Fence because I am forever pontificating about it. I agree that Fence has (or, rather, had) the potential to be really popular to a wide audience and I think you hit the nail on the head. And so much of it is just such easy fixes--like putting any effort into marketing lol or when releasing the compiled issues as volumes, giving them all distinct covers and names would have been SO helpful. Reusing the issue covers for the volumes was a mistake (and again, that's something marketing should have been all over!!). and the storyline. oh man. yeah. that ship has sailed and I've had mental breakdowns about it--but if we'd stayed true to the original concept of Fence and BOOM and Pacat put more effort into reaching a wider audience, it could have been big. Another consideration here, of course, is the content-to-hiatus ratio, which loses a ton of fans, but I maintain that if BOOM had their shit together, they could have fixed that problem too! and it's so frustrating

GOD RIGHT??? The novels came in, ruined Fence, and then aren't even actually canon because they don't actually fit in the universe??? My theory is that since Pacat is a SRB superfan, he kind of let her go overboard and realized after the novels were published and he had to move his story forward post-Disarmed that he'd fucked up giving so much freedom to her. Because they called it canon--and he still says it's '80% canon' but it couldn't have happened. So the point of the novels was basically for Pacat to read fanfiction from his favorite author of his OCs--it did nothing positive for the story, the characters, the franchise, or the fans. and LITERALLY!!! I've always thought doing a prequel for the tie-ins made more sense. Like following the fencing team with Harvard, Aiden, Kally, and Tanner would have been so fun, or focusing on Kally and Tanner or Bobby and Dante would have been fun and would have left room for actual plot progression!! It was pure selfishness on the authors' part to do the novels how they did them. And if Pacat would father fangirl over SRB than write a meaningful story, that's his right, but it still bugs me that there was clearly no thought given to the consequences of the novels. So instead of dealing with them, we ignore them and pretend that they're still '80% canon' to make ourselves feel better for our oopsie. hahaaa I have nothing nice to say about SRB or her writing. I don't think she got anything right in Fence--except for hinting Eugesse, which you know she only did because she knew it was popular in the fandom and she wanted the hype and baited us with it lmfao But! I've always had issues with her even before she touched Fence--her blatant sexism in In Other Lands was disturbing to me when I read it (shaming and looking down on feminine traits isn't Woke or Revolutionary just because you assigned those traits to men in your "badass feminist society" and had all the women be grossly sexist and predatory) so it's not just me being an asshole because she ruined my favorite thing in the world <3 But I know she's very beloved among her fans and I'm sorry that she failed you in Fence when you love her other works so much. If there was one mercy from the novels, it was the lack of a Eugene POV even if it further proves he's not really part of the team/a main character...unfortunately that's a fair trade jkdfah

I always thought Fence deserved a bigger following than it ever got--and maybe having a bigger fanbase and more money being thrown at it would have helped BOOM commit to buying enough ahead to let Pacat and Jo actually work on it consistently and put out content more regularly. It really was setting itself up to be so fun and full of tropes the gays LOVE. i mean, sports 'manga' that's actually queer? All the fun tropes with rivals and 'becoming a team'? The classic character archetypes used smartly and effectively? I genuinely think it would have appealed to all the people who love Check Please and Heartstopper and Yuri on Ice. And it still does, I guess, but I feel like if Fence gets popular now, I'd be a bit sad to see all that love centered around a version of Fence I don't like (but that is pure selfishness lmfao I fully admit it). I just so love/d all the edges and conflicts in Fence and it's sad to see them sanded down in canon and resolved of screen.

I SEE THIS AND I AM EXCITED!!!! Time to push my unpopular-opinion-agenda on everyone who follows me!! This guy has been a LEECH on my brain lately, so I got lots to say and little sense to make!!

RODIMUS

one aspect about them i love: Despite everything he's been through, despite Nyon, despite dying, despite the WAR.. He's gotta be the only one that's handling the end of the war well in face. You know? He's got that Optimus thing going on with the positivity. Even with the dying sarcasm and adhd and unemployed vibes, he's still got that going for him. It's admirable. He's absolutely depressed, pushes everyone away despite being ''friendly'' with everyone. He's got one single best friend and he still pushed Drift away. Now when I started MTMTE I was expecting a totally different character. There is not much interaction between him and the others, he's rarely around actually. But I'll be damned if he isn't the most positive one on the ship. And I just know that helps somehow. He keeps it lighthearted and bears that agonizing weight of trauma on his own. Sheesh..

one aspect i wish more people understood about them: Despite his lack of thinking before he acts or speaks, I do think he's pretty smart to a fault. He's masking. He's literally masking. Like.. he may not understand the consequences or effect of what he does, but he isn't.. blatantly cruel on purpose? Does that make sense? He's confident and knows himself, but he's... Yeah. OH ALSO: Just because he's got a speedster frame doesn't mean he's a damsel in distress. He can take care of himself. He's not a tiny frail thing.

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: Here we go, my unpopular opinion: He's Asexual. 1000% Ace. That stuff just doesn't come naturally to him. He's not a prude, but he's not like.. actively seeking it out or jumping at the opportunity. He sees people eyeing him up and tells them where he got his paintjob, where he got his mods. He doesn't realize they're eyeing him up for other reasons. Don't tell him that either. He'll just get mad that people keep treating him like a meal rather than the leader he is. His frame is for being quick, fast, versatile. Flashy, yes, but he picked the colors to be SEEN, not drooled over. Yes, he seeks attention because he's never taken seriously, but he gets that by being loud, wild, irresponsible. Thats uh, thats it. There's no hidden meaning behind his actions or words. Maybe he's had a few flings in his past, or in current, but it ain't nearly as much as everyone assumes. Not even CLOSE. The real secret sex life of Rodimus Prime is that he's not focused on such a life.

one character i love seeing them interact with: Drift!! I love their friendship so much! It's so so soo great to see a close friendship in comics and shows. I have a best friend, an Amica, who I love and adore very much! So I see Rodimus and Drift and get excited! They're besties! They've had their ups and downs, but they're always there for each other!! When Rodimus told Magnus that he WANTED Drift's opinion? Love love loved that. That's his best fuckin FRIEND, Magnus! (Yes, he did do Drift HORRIBLY wrong on the Lost Light, I understand that and I'm very mad at him for it, but we all make shitty mistakes with friendships. This guy ain't had a friend in forever, he's self sabotaging constantly. Its no excuse but it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a second chance at being a good friend.)

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: Okay very very odd, but Starscream. They'd both hate it, but I think they got quite a bit in common if you break them down to their basics and I think they'd have a lot to talk about. They both have this odd... not-so-friends but not-so-enemies with Megatron, (there's some trauma there that's shared with that as well). They both want to be taken seriously and be this leader but neither can really get there and even when they do get there, its taken from them very fast. I just want to see them talk. Just sit 'em down and fuckin crack them open like eggs for frying. If Starscream went Autobot, he'd be Rodimus and if Rodimus went Decepticon, he'd be Starscream. Does that make any sense? Its odd, I know.. BUT..

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: I love the whole 'Ratchet and Rodimus have a Uncle-Nephew type relationship', and with Ratchet ending up with Drift in the end, I LOVE the idea of Rodimus being that tag-a-long that ends up somehow squeezing himself into hang outs with them. They're his friends! He loves them! He just wants to hang with them! All the time, yes, but he's just really enjoying how happy his bestie is, and enjoys being able to mess with Ratchet and get away with it to a degree. He's always in their habsuite eating their snacks. Drift doesn't yell at him for it but Ratchet does. Disclaimer!!! I don't ship them all together, I cherish the friendships.

I can talk forever about this onion. Roddy has so many layers and so much to his character and I am obsessed with diving into him. I have SO much to say and SO little cohesiveness to say it all!!

Ohhhh no, an AU where Dimitri and Dainsleif are siblings but Dain was a slip (doubt it. Dimitri's papa is a good man *sobs*) or he is the son of Dimitri's uncle (Rufus? I always forget his name). Whatever, the point is, Dain is the second possible heir that royalty don't want people to know about, so they assign him as Dimitri's personal knight without telling them they are related. They train and study together, and suffer the catastrophe together... but in the end, Dainsleif had to flee as they belived him a traitor. As a wanted child who has a remarkable similarity to Prince Dimitri, he covered half of his face so no one can recognize him.

You and Dimitri met at the academia, and he fell madly in love with you. You felt flattered but never returned his feelings, not wanting to be part of royal costumes and all but you gave him all the support a friend cand give when he hitted one of his lowest points. When the 5 years gap passes, through that time, you met Dansleif, deciding to travel together away from the war which ended with him pinning after you, but now he is on a quest to find his lost brother/cousin to inform him of the betrayal of Rufus, the real reason of the massacre.

Now, that everything is better and you have establish yourself in some city of Faerghus, were one day a visit from the new king is taking place, which is not weird due of the recent events of Rufus being revealed as the true traitor of the Duscur event. What you didn't expect, was Dainsleif walking almost right beside him. It finally makes sense in your brain why he always asked about the whereabouts of Dimitri whenever the two of you reached a settlement, and why he looked at you with so much hope in his eyes for the first time since you two met, when you told him about him being in Garreg Mach just before you parted ways.

The two men who haven't stop loving you after so much time are in front of you. How are you going to get out of this? You don't seek a relationship right now or in the near future, but with the way both of them are looking at you, you feel that you won't have that much of a say.

Alternatively, Dimitri is the true ruler of Dragonspine, but he was in an ice-induced slumber until one day you and Dainsleif find him, and ever since the three of you adventurer together.

We're adding other genshin characters into the mix cause frick it WHY NOT?!

YANDERE!DIMITRI AND DAINSLEIF BRAINROT (CROSSOVER):

Some world building details:

We're gonna pretend the Monastery and the Akademiya are the same thing and that Fodlan exists as a continent besides Teyvat (and that Khaenri'ah didn't exist lmao. Khaenri'ah erasure–)

First off: the twins are either both on the Golden Deer or they're split between Black Eagles and Blue Lions. And for the sake of angst we're choosing the latter option–

Dainsleif was born with the major crest of Blaiddyd unlike Dimitri who only has a minor crest, and that unfortunately means he has a better chance at succeeding the throne in this society.

They come from an archonless land (Sothis doesn't have one element she could control and "time" is a very complex concept) so naturally they depend on crests more than visions. Besides, they rely on reason and faith rather than elemental reactions. And the Akademiya/Officer's Academy is a prestigious university who offers all of that.

But of course, Dain did not have a rich upbringing. I imagine he would be found in an orphanage with Lumine.

For the sake of extra angst, Lumine is separated from Aether, who lived a life of luxury in Mondstadt. This happened because she did not bear a crest like her brother did.

Perhaps Alois found the two kids before he realized they're both likely to be children kf nobility. Based on the orphanage's data on him, his mother used to rendezvous with Rufus as well.

Luckily, he is "just" one of Rufus' many bastards. Lying to everyone that he doesn't have a crest comes as easy as breathing.

His Teyvat-an mother taught him not to trust nobles so easily before she passed.

Dainsleif easily pretended that it was his blood they used to check if he had a crest of not, even though it was likely Lumine's. Rufus lost interest quickly. But he keeps an eye on him by making sure he's raised as Dimitri's retainer. Spy might be the more fitting word, but Dainsleif doesn't care for his father.

I like to imagine young!dimitri is lowkey pissed at Dain because when Dain has a long haircut he's seen as cool and collected but when Dimi has a long haircut he gets called a "young maiden" by a well-known knight lmao

And thus, Dainsleif became the "Twilight Sword", known for his repertoire and loyalty to the crown.

And being Dimitri, Sylvain, Felix, and Glenn's spokesperson when the boys started doing something stupid. And it's always just Sylvain.

Felix doesn't like him, but he tolerates him better than Dimitri that's for sure. (Unlike Dimitri, Dain's a lot more sane after losing everything but that might just be because 500 years have passed.) His skill with the sword is impeccable, and he doesn't hold back when calling Dimitri out either.

"For all your years of being close to one another, it's a pity that you lack Felix's clarity when it comes to your apparent mental distress." - Dain @ Dimitri, probably.

(Dain is the sassiest king of tutorials lmao)

Well, at least that's how positively stark his reputation was until the Tragedy of Duscur and the loss of his closest friend, Glenn.

Rufus's retainer idea failed when Dimitri insisted on having Dedue as his main right hand man. The two relatives didn't argue about this, in fact, they agreed that this was the better choice.

To prove his loyalty to Dimitri's cause, he decided to leave Faerghus, and therefore don his infamous half mask whilst traveling Teyvat.

This, to him, is a way to atone his sins.

Enter (Y/n)!!!

The first person you meet is Lumine! You had quite the "meet-cute", bumping into each other on the halls with you losing your notes and with her dropping her inteyvats on the ground.

Lumine apparently got in the Akademiya as a a scholar. You asked her what her field of study was before but her answer is complicated. She said something about how her tuition is paid by doing daily commissions. You didn't understand it.

Of course, you're both in Blue Lions!!!!

Besties are cute af Lumine is a swordmaster and you're like annette who's good at boosting strength stats!!!

Because of that, Byleth partners you more with her, and never Dimitri because his stats are enough. Which, by the way, makes him pretend to be ill sometimes just for a chance to talk to you. He's not above lying. He did the same with his supports with Ashe.
