there was a specific prompt in your letter about a selkie au with these two that really captured my imagination--my first thought was something about martyn's history of killing as a form of devotion, and the imbalance inherent to a relationship with a selkie and the weird bond these two formed; trust that felt genuine until the moment it wasn't.

the image in my head was something with martyn washing scott's blood out of his own coat for him, sometime after the yellow hunt for his time. (or even later down the line--if martyn was left to live out his time at the end, perhaps he'd find himself at the edge of the water, scrubbing his hands and that silvery-blue pelt clean of his own betrayal. old habits die hard.)

DunMeshi perfectly nails the found family trope, by the way. every character is equal, but distinctively different and makes up a part of the whole. Senshi feeds the party, because that's what he's good at, and what he knows. Chilchuck might scold everyone for being idiotic and stupid, but that's not because he's their dad, it's because that's his personality. there's no hierarchy or structure, no roles for the characters to fall into

Okay I want to be 100 percent transparent and say that I do not and will never hold any malice towards the actors in the show. The only things I’m critical of is the writing and the lighting.
