Angsty lawlu thought: any kids they have could develop laws disease. Imagine law seeing their kid born with those spots or gets it when their two or three. Law having to go through that trauma again. But has to focus on healing his kid.

Law sounds like the kind of dad who'd be so happy with a daughter. He'd do her ponytails, read her books, and do her nails and eyeliner when she gets older. Idk I just think he'd be so happy with a daughter. And she would remind him of his sister and he'd get emotional watching her sleep. So when the first spots start appearing, he sees Flevance all over again. He freezes. Nothing in the seven seas would have prepared him for that. It's all happening all over again. He'll lose it all again.

His daughter, barely six years old, doesn't understand why her dad is so terrified. She feels alright. Her little white spots are funny, even. They don't hurt. So why is dad so... pale ?

She tugs on his jeans and brings him back to his senses. He holds her close and tell her that everything will be alright. Silly daddy, she thinks, everything already is alright.

When Luffy reaches his house after Law's urgent call, he finds him in the kitchen, passed away surrounded by two empty wine bottles from their cellar (a gift from Mihawk).

They had moved in their house a few years after retiring. On an island in the east blue, a calm sea to raise their daughter. In a few years, they planned to start training her so that she gets to see the world with her own eyes. Those eyes were already full of wonder, in awe at the stories her fathers told of giant dragons and magical fairies, stories their friends told of giant whales and marvelous seas, stories her grand-grandparents told of great wars and great pirates.

Law never told her about Flevance. She is too young. He wanted to shield her from the horrors of the world, and yet, because of him, there she was, so young, and already thrust into them.

When Luffy hugs him from the back, Law wakes up and leans into his touch.

"Is everything alright ?" He asks, knowing fully well that everything was not okay.

"It's my fault, Luffy..." He mumbles in his husband's chest "I gave her that..."

Luffy stays silent and craddles his husband's hair. By extending his observation haki, he knows their daughter is sleeping in her room. He doesn't comment but hugs Law tighter, letting him know that he is not alone. He waits. He's not worried about their daughter. Law healed himself. He can heal her too. But that wasn't about the Amber Lead per se, Luffy knew. It was about the trauma, the loss, and all the suffering those white spots brought to his partner. His sister, his parents, Cora... Law lost them all, one way or another, because of those same spots he sees on their daughter.

After a few moments, Law broke the silence: " This shouldn't be happening."

"What ?"

"I took all the lead out of my system. I am healed. It shouldn't be happening."

" Okay. And ? "

" And ??? " Law was flabergasted. " What do you mean And ???? Our daughter has an incurable desease that she shouldn't be having in the first place !! What do you mean "And" ????"

"What does it matter, Torao, if she should be having it or not ? Why does it matter why she caught it ? "

"Aren't you worried ????"

"No-"

The slap that landed on Luffy's face was heard all across the house. He answered it by hugging his husband closer.

"I am not worried, Torao, because sometimes, the why doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that you healed yourself, and you can heal her too. Alright ?"

"Yeah... You're right."

I don’t think you’ve done anything on it at all (honestly i cant even remember how much you’ve drawn law) but do you have any thoughts on lawlu as a ship? Personally i love them, i’m a bit too much of a chump for sunshine x angry and rivalry.

I don't ship it personally but I do understand the appeal in it for some. For me I think Luffy is a bit young/immature for Law, but I also understand that some people like seeing Law driven up the wall by those antics, LOL. I think I prefer them platonically - I feel a lot for poor Law having to grow up much too early and I think it would do him a lot of good to be forced into an "alliance" (friendship) with someone who chooses very intentionally not to fall for that line of thinking. Both of them have seen the deaths of people very, very close to them whom they considered family, and they both dealt with it in opposite ways. You can really see the difference in how Law was alone for a lot of his early life while Luffy was surrounded by people and role models. I think Luffy has a lot to teach Law. And I look forward to seeing how the Law-Kidd-Luffy alliance manifests in lategame One Piece given their wildly different understandings of what an "alliance" means.

I don't think I ship Law with anyone, really? I know Lawbin, KiddLaw and ZoLaw are all somewhat popular but while I can appreciate the content/jokes they don't do it for me. I do think SanLaw is funny though, lmao. Especially if it's Law with a one-sided fanboy crush on Sanji.

You also made me think about it and I'm not sure that I've ever actually drawn Law seriously outside of memes and one spot illustration for What Lurks Beneath... maybe I should change that lol

Well his visuals, and humor is more likely Law yet his intelligence is a mix of them..

He rarely smile around people and a little introverted as heck yet when we are both alone he smiles around my corny and dark humor things and was keeping up with my energy LMAO i often ask him sometimes "are you tired of taking care of a girlfriend with ADHD?" and he's like "No" with a freaking straight face.

And when I tell you his intelligence for me is kinda a plot twist cause that man knows advance math and was helping my friends from their math assignments and even mine even though I told him not to 😭.

Even some girls are lowkey falling for him due to his brains and some for visuals but he rejects them immediately and sometimes he reject them bluntly 😭, yet his kindness is like sabo with pure intentions and just like I said he rarely smiles, it's like he smiles i the said person deserves it which is funny to me.

Also the way he thinks about me is kinda like law on those LawLu fanfics where he cares too much for luffy and YES HE REALLY IS 😭 plus he was understanding since I'm a mentally unstable person so he's very careful of things he wanted to seriously say and do.

Sometimes I always ask him "What did you found in me that you didn't found in others?" and he said "You're kindness and the big energy you have despite of being down, like I just wanna take care of you and give all the love you deserve" AND I WAS TOO CLOSE TO CRY AT THAT MOMENT 😭 HE WAS LIKE A BIG BROTHER LIKE SABO WHO CARES TOO MUCH but it feels good that he cares yet its funny he doesn't care to others even to his family since he has a little problem when handling his family.

And to his humor...well let's just say I am more concerning than him and when I told you I always got surprised whenever he cracks a chuckle or laugh whenever I dropped the more dark and concerning jokes out there.

That's the Law and Sabo thing I saw him but he himself see Law too to himself and Shirogane since Shirogane was lowkey his fav character and his fav anime was of course Love Is War and one of the things he saw in me was the way I acted sometimes like kaguya BUT I MYSELF CAN'T SEE IT 😭 LIKE HELLO WHERE?, anyways there's also a reason why he like shirogane due to that one manga panel i forgot what chapter tho but that panel reallyotivated him up until today.

And the thing is last week I was just like jokingly told him that he suits a trafalgar cosplay since of his visuals and height, AND BOY HE DID BUY A TRAFALGAR COSPLAY THE PUNK HAZARD ONE WHICH WAS MY FAV. (but I didn't told him that) At first I thought he bought the onigashima one but I almost screamed when he revealed that it was the punk hazard one and he will put it on once I get to visit him by next week and BOY I AM NERVOUS RNFKVKSHAHAHA (please pray for me and my sanity).

gratsu natsu knocks on the door - I'm pretty sure the title is a pun to the opening scene of my only multichap gratsu fic, A Sham

Naruto:

kushina lives AU - exactly what it says, I'm working on it on and off every now and then; while Kushina lives, Tsunade is actually the main character, collecting kids just like old ladies collect cats 🤣

seals naruto au wanting to keep the fox in - tbh this is basically just an idea in form of an outline and a few written snippets scattered around; don't really know if I'll ever write it completely

naruto timetravel 1 - this was actually supposed to be team 7 boruto timetraveling to naruto canon before that timetravel filler arc in boruto ever happened. sadly, I never tried to finish it

naruto timetravel 2 - naruto and sauske's consciousness from the future appear as flashes of memories/dreams to naruto and sasuke of the original naruto canon timeline before they graduated academy

kamui raw bondage - a kakaobi kinktober fic I never got around finishing, it was supposed to be a companion fic to my I've patched up the scrapes in my heart

One Piece:

LawLu stranded on an island AU plot - so this is one rare outline instead of a fic lmao (I never do real outlines 😂)

ofmd crossover - had an idea for a crossover but never finished it.

BNHA:

DFO/canon - tbh I don't even remember what this is supposed to be beyond DFO, but what I can see from a fast scan, it's one of the rare outlines lol

baku deku unconventional A/B/O - it's unconventional because it's alpha/alpha pairing; an old idea that I never got to finishing

genderswap au - ah this is one of the oldest wips in the fanfic folder; it's not so much of a genderswap as much as genderswap characters come to the canon through a portal; very fun

DabiHawks mermaid au - a discord drabble I wrote for a prompt and saved to finish one day

FT x DA:II crossover funny - just like it says: crackfic crossover of fairy tail and dragon age 2; Fenris is sure Natsu is a rage demon 🤣🤣🤣

Josuke'a accidental time travel adventure - I had a craving for Josuke time-traveling to part 3 and there was none to read. gasp. but then one day a fic with a similar premise appeared on ao3 so I read that instead of finishing my own XD

FuruSawa fic - an ace no diamond oneshot that just needs a satisfying end (which I need to write so who knows when I'll finish 🤣)

Shiki x Weisz - eden's zero fic just as title says XD

I still have a few more docs but those are literally a few sentences and I didn't bother to list them here

What would happen if you swapped Buggy design with young Rayleigh, Mihawk, Smoker, or whoever is trending now?

Shuggy never would be main one but definitely popular since chapter 19 and time in manga (a lot of ships lacks it, still more seen in tags), fear of cancellation (look at any fandom popular ships) has very little to do with the way things are now.

I’ve been thinking about it since OPLA happened and suddenly it got popular. Because of buggy actor being good looking.

I just get bitter every time someone brings it up, sorry.

You're so real for this. I already said it, but basically one of the only reasons why the ship isn't more popular is because people refuse to admit Buggy is hot lmfao. OPLA's success made people suddenly like Buggy wayyyy more (same thing happened with Usopp. My blood is boiling).

And the cancellation thing, once again, I say it's because I've seen people complaining about that and that's why I mention it in my post. But "the way things are now" is way worse than they used to be. You literally can't ship anything without people coming at you complaining about every little thing. I mean, I have shitty recent experiences with people that complained about me shipping Lawlu (funny experience because I don't even ship them that much lmfao). I get what you're trying to say, but what I meant by cancel culture being one of the main reasons why the ship is not more popular here, is that the Japanese side of the fandom doesn't seem to care about that and that's why that little half that sees Shuggy as siblings and also talks shit about the shippers probably doesn't exist over there.

Favorite romantic ship with Law (Besides Kid)

hmmmm..... KidLaw really is by far my mainship with Law. I have waves of shipping LawLu sometimes, but only as long as no sex is involved. I also enjoy SmoLaw. I've seen some nice ZoLaw fanart/fics too that I could appreciate, but do I really ship it?? I don't think so. I also really like the odd pairing with Shachi and Penguin. Don't really know if I see them romantically though, or more like really close friends with benefits. AceLaw can be nice too... And I'll admit I read some DoflaLaw as well (but like smutty stuff only), but I really can't see them romantically involved. (cause Doflamingo is like the abusive uncle from hell to Law)

I guess I can see Law with a lot of guys (no girls, sorry, Law screams GAY to me), but him really being romantically involved with anyone else than Kid? that's hard. I guess if I have to choose one of the ones I said as favorite, I'll go with SmoLaw, but it's far beneath KidLaw and on almost equal foot with some other Law ships.

(Which is funny, becase if you had asked me about Kid, it would have been a completely different story :P)

No. It's only Sanji.

😛 But honestly, I can't imagine him being with anyone else romantically. sexually, yes, I don't mind seeing him with Law, and maybe without sex I could see him with Luffy (but I ship that less than LawLu). But that's about it.

Zoro also gives off a major gay vibe, and I can only broship him with girls (Robin, Nami, Perona - though the last one quite literally as a sister), but in my head Zoro isn't such a slut as Law 😂 Law I can see with pretty much all the guys, Zoro I can pretty much only see with one guy 😛

((And if i werent shy af id also love to share mine (prob might just slide into ur dms w this one c.c))) If it happens it's gna be pretty underwhelming tho. my plan so far is zou-time law (sans kikoku) bc i think it's the only outfit i can try to pull off ahhh, if even that.

So im currently looking around the secondhands for a white baseball cap (it's so hard to find one without some text on it? Jfc. But ye gna put spots on it w a marker); a black dressshirt; jeans that i might also paint with spots but tbh im too scared ill ruin em (and i only have one pair of blue jeans xD i wear black usually); +plus i'll buy some facepaint n do the tattoos!!; The only one thing i actually have so far at the ready is a black wig, purely by chance. Idk if ill manage the rest in time ahhh.

Whats funny is that im gna be at that con for around 3-4hours tops, and my only motivation to do law is because i wanna let ppl know that i wanna talk ab him asffghjjkl (tho i might be too awkward to actually hold a convo lmao thatll be funny. In and out.). My whole idea w going to that con started actually PURELY bc im deeply hiperfixated w law rn (and by 'right now' i mean 'for the last two months', ever since i read the most recent spoiler regarding him n drowned in the fandom again ahah), and im having a very minimal outlet socially ahh. The next anime-related con i could attend would be in winter.. i dont wanna wait that long..

bestie there's no such thing as underwhelming cosplay!! it's either you do or you don't and if you do? you already deserve a star bc at least you tried! ⭐ I know how some people are very particular and want it to follow their character design to a perfect t but you also need to consider time and resources for it. some people can afford to buy expensive props while others have to make it from scratch and I think that's the fun part of cosplaying that is lost these days. you have to get crafty ^-^

ashjkl also mildly related to this I love watching hijabi cosplayers getting creative with their costumes whilst covering themselves properly. I think I'm gonna take a leaf out of their book and wear my yellow blouse and make it a modest version of law so I don't have to draw all over my chest lol. I recently cut my hair to a short wolf cut and it's naturally black so that part is settled too :] don't paint on your jeans, though!! it's pretty risky. maybe buy a black cloth duct tape and cut it into small round shapes and paste it on? that's what I'm planning to do to my jeans too hehe

and I feel you on wanting to talk about your fav character with other people!! honestly I can't shut up about luffy even for a second. I went to a concert with another tumblr mutual recently and one piece was all I talked about lol. but since I'm a big lawlu believer I can't help but love torao too 💛

Fic Year In Review

Okay I was gonna wait until January but I’m not writing shit right now, I mean I am TOTALLY braindead so I might as well do this now

FICS I POSTED THIS YEAR:

A Rose By Any Other Scent

ABO, Lance has no sense of smell until he regains it in a cryopod, thinks Keith is another alpha but falls for him anyway. Much angst towards the end, but it gets better.

An old klance fic I started probably years ago, and while its technically one chapter away from being finished for good wen all know I’m never gonna figure out how to write that last resolution chapter. It’s a good fic though, with a good ending point that at least resolved the emotional conflict between the boys.

Matelotage

Written for my friend Isa whom I love dearly, this shit was inspired by that chocolate guy who’s so popular on the internet. It’s some cute fluff, but mostly, it’s FUNNY. I nailed this one. I’m a funny bitch, god damn it. Anyway I like it, if it wasn’t for the Valentine’s fic and the ItaFushi this would be my favorite fic of the year. But it’s not lol. It’s third place.

So in conclusion, I wrote less than usual this year, but what I did write was pretty baller. Mostly. IDK, I made the most of what I could.

I asked before how many Lawlu outsider POV fics are too many and then didn’t wait for an answer. Sorry, Kid, but you knew your turn would come eventually :)

Summary: Kid never would have believed there was a person crazy enough to actually mate with Straw Hat Luffy, the biggest, most selfish idiot on the seas. But seeing as the mating mark on said idiot's neck was very real, Kid had only one question:Who the hell is Torao?

When Kid had first noticed the scar on Straw Hat's neck, he had assumed it was simply yet another injury from his fight with Kaido. After all, when they had first tossed him in the cell with him, he was covered head to toe in bandages, the blood still seeping through in several places. It wouldn't have been so weird for him to have a wound or twenty still visible a week later.

But when all his other injuries disappeared only a few days later, leaving behind the one single, comparatively minor scar, Kid couldn’t stop wondering about it.

Every time the reddish patch of skin caught his attention, his eyes would linger on it, trying to figure out just why. Was it poison? Something to prevent the skin from mending fully? He’d really rather know if there was someone with a power like that among the Beast Pirates before he went back to kick Kaido’s ass. Would make recovery a real bitch.

It didn’t seem to bother Straw Hat much, if at all, however. Most of the time, he went on on his infuriating way of picking fights with Kid over the smallest things as if nothing was wrong so Kid supposed it was nothing for him to lose sleep over.

Yet, there was something that didn’t let Kid completely forget about it. Every single day in the evening, when all the prisoners were sent back to their cells and there was nothing to do, Straw Hat would inevitably end up with his hand on his neck, tracing the scar with his fingers with a complicated expression on his face. Kid would be lying if he said he wasn’t curious as hell.

But he’d be damned if he actually asked so he simply resorted to showing slight concern over his rival's injury. Meaning, he teased Straw Hat mercilessly, riling him up as much as he could during their little competitions.

What could he say, the kid was infuriating and it wasn’t like he didn’t do the same thing to him.

Kid couldn’t wait for the day Kaido was out of the way, so he would be able to fucking show Straw Hat who was stonger, faster, better, and teach him and everyone else that a missing arm was nothing; not with Kid’s power and his crew by his side. But currently, the Emperor was the thing on the very top of Kid’s shit list so Straw Hat was safe. For now.

Unless his stupid charity would get him before Kid could. That would be a damn shame.

Kid rolled his eyes as he watched Straw Hat give a bunch of his meal tickets to the tiny, withered old man again. Seriously, what was Straw Hat’s deal? Did he not get the memo that pirates did not do charity? It was kill or be killed, in labour camps especially.

But Straw Hat didn’t seem to care how much of a joke he was as a pirate. And obviously, neither did the old man.

“Thank you once again, Straw Hat man,” the old man said, accepting the tickets gratefully.

Straw Hat grinned. “Don’t worry about it, gramps. I’ll get lots more.” As if to prove his point, Straw Hat flexed his arm, causing Kid to roll his eyes once more.

But not before taking note of how many tickets Straw Hat had in his hands and how many he gave to the old man, and comparing them to the amount he himself had amassed during the day. Kid smirked. He was pretty confident he won. Just as he did every day.

"Are they okay?" the old man asked then, voice full of concern.

"What?" Straw Hat sounded painfully confused as he replied.

The old man huffed, gesturing to where Straw Hat was once more absent-mindedly massaging his neck. "Your mate. You keep touching your mark. Are they okay?"

Kid did a double take.

Straw Hat. A mate. Straw Hat had a mate. That was what the weird scar on his neck was.

He mentally berated himself for not realizing sooner but honestly, who would ever look at Straw Hat and think, ‘Oh yeah, he's mated.’ No one sane, that's for damn sure.

"Oh," Straw Hat uttered simply before going silent for a moment again. But then his face split in that idiotic, bright grin again. "It’s just itchy. It’s fine, Torao’s strong.”

The old man didn’t look convinced but it was obvious he didn’t want to push it either. It took only a second for him to sigh, shake his head, and change the subject. Probably because he knew that even if there was something wrong with this ‘Torao,’ there was nothing Straw Hat—or anyone else in this goddamned prisoner mine—could do about it.

If Kid cared about his problems at all, he’d say it was a good thing Straw Hat was such an air headed moron. If he had any more brain cells in that head of his, he’d probably go crazy in here, literally climbing walls, trying to get to his mate. This blind trust he seemed to have in people was saving him a lot of energy—while sadly robbing Kid of entertainment. It would have been pretty damn funny watch, whether it be Straw Hat losing his mind, or the guards losing their minds over Straw Hat going on a rampage but oh well.

He’d have to make do with their little fights.

Kid did have to wonder what kind of person this Torao was, however. He didn't recall anyone called that on Straw Hat’s crew, nor did he know of anyone else by that name. Kid wanted to meet them, see what kind of person was stupid enough to bond with Straw Hat of all people; willing to deal with his insufferable idiocy and selfishness for the rest of their lives. At the very least, he'd have liked to give them his condolences.

He was… intrigued by this development. But he wasn't desperate enough for answers to actively eavesdrop, and definitely not enough to ask.

He'd rather stay locked in this damned labour camp than do that.

But seriously, he had better things to worry about—his escape for one, then it was looking for Killer and the rest of his crew. Then it was off to beat up Kaido.

And if he knew anything about Straw Hat, he wasn't about to stick around the mine much longer either. Then he'd pick up his cozy little alliance with Trafalgar Law of all people and go after Kaido, same as Kid. So, if this mate of his was in Wano, Kid was sure it was only a matter of time before he met them for himself.

Kid hoped they wouldn’t cry once he had Straw Hat beaten. He hated it when people cried. It was so very annoying.

No, Killer, it wasn’t because seeing people cry made him want to cry, too.

Shaking his head to rid himself of the image of Killer giving him his best unimpressed look, Kid got up from the dusty ground, shooting one last glance at Straw Hat before he walked away. Having a mate didn’t matter in the end at all. What mattered was strength, power, loyalty, and only trusting the people closest to you.

Everyone else could get fucked. Especially your ‘allies.’ He was sure Straw Hat would learn that the hard way with Trafalgar, just as Kid had with Hawkins and fucking Scratchmen. Straw Hat could only hope that mistake didn’t cost him his mate, the most obvious weak spot.

Kid, for one, was done risking his partner. Done with alliances.

That was what he had thought at least but of course Killer had to be the voice of reason and insist that if they were to go against Kaido, they'd better wait to join in the large-scale raid the Straw Hats had planned. Or that Trafalgar had planned, more likely. It was stupid and Kid din't want to get involved in anything where those two played a part but he could never win against his first mate and Killer knew it. Asshole.

"So you showed up after all, Jaggy?!" Straw Hat called, sounding way too happy and excited considering the situation.

"Like I'd let you have the glory for taking down Kaido!" Kid shouted back, clicking his tongue in distaste at the very notion.

Just then, someone from the Straw Hat ship spoke up, tone a mix of relief and exasperation, "Luffy, look, Torao's here! You can stop fidgeting now!"

At that, Straw Hat whipped around, making a full circle and looking like an idiot as he searched for something through the heavy storm. The 'Torao', most likely. The mate.

Kid had nearly forgotten about that. But now that the person was there themselves, his previous curiosity came back. Instead of focusing on the enemy ships ahead, he continued watching his fellow captain as he took off to run to the other end of the ship, no doubt to get a better view of the sea in the back. Kid winced when after only a two steps, Roronoa grabbed Straw Hat's collar, making the rubber man's head jerk forward from the momentum, going further from his shoulders than should be humanly possible.

Seriously, Straw Hat and his weird powers.

Shaking his head, Kid focused back on where Roronoa was dragging his own captain towards the side of the ship, pointing him towards something below, in the water. Kid's eyes inadvertently followed in the direction as well until they found Trafalgar's submarine with the pathetic samurai boat perched on top. Was this Torao one of the samurai? Would explain why Kid had never heard of them.

"TORAO! HI!" Straw Hat screamed immediately, waving his hands widely to get the person's attention.

The crashing waves and heavy rain were his only response but Straw Hat didn't seem dettered in the least. Instead, his screaming continued, "Where were you?! I was looking for you but your friends refused to say!"

"Focus on the mission, Straw Hat-ya!" Trafalgar finally snapped with annoyance.

Probably not what or whom Straw Hat wanted to hear but on the other hand, Kid was glad Trafgar hadn't gone completely crazy yet. Even though Kid had to admit he didn't have much room to talk with picking allies, he had his doubts about Trafalgar’s sanity from the moment he heard he had allied with Straw Hat of all people.

Not to mention how long the two had been working together at this point. If Trafalgar wasn't insane before, he had to be by now by association alone. But it was comforting to know he still had it in himself to rein the biggest idiot on the entire Grand Line in.

“Also I’d hate to rub salt in the wound, but today’s banquet will celebrate the official alliance between the Beast Pirates and the Big Mom Pirates!” At the taunting remark from one of the Beast pirates, Kid whipped around, immediately forgetting about Trafalgar, Straw Hat, and the mystery mate.

“Big Mom and Kaido?!!” You’ve got to be kidding. Just one of them was bad enough, an alliance between two Emperors just as they were getting ready to attack was nothing but bad news. Not like it would change the result, Kid was going to beat them both regardless, but it was complicating matters considerably.

“In the name of Emperor Kaido, get this over with and sink them!”

Kid rolled his eyes at how confident these small fries were just because they had Kaido and Big Mom backing them up. As if they would save them from getting beaten up from all the way over at Onigashima.

Raising his fists, flesh and metal, he aimed at the enemy ship, readying himself to haul himself over to show his idiot ‘allies’ how it’s done.

“Why are these underlings getting so cocky!! They’re looking down on us, stand back!!!”

“Idiot, you’re the one who should stand back!!”

Oh no, you don’t, Kid thought. “Don’t get in my way!!!”

“Torao! That power's cheating!”

“Oh, Torao, where did you go?”

“Torao, move the samurai below!”

“Torao, did you guys beat Big Mom?!”

“To-ra-ooo!!”

Remembering all the times that Straw Hat had called his ‘Torao’ over the course of the night, Kid was almost embarrassed that it took him until now to connect the dots. In his defense, it was the heat of the battle and there were a lot bigger things to worry about than Straw Hat and Torao’s love life and honestly, Kid didn’t even really care in the first place. But he would have certainly appreciated a heads up before this.

Upon hearing that Straw Hat was finally awake after passing out from exhaustion, Killer had insisted that checking up on him was the least Kid should do. So, despite his better judgement, Kid had complied and really, this might have had just been the worst advice his first mate had ever given him and that was including the stupid alliance with Hawkins and Apoo.

As he stared with wide eyes at the scene before him, he suddenly understood why all the idiot friends of Straw Hat’s were scrambling off as if running from something, even going as far as dragging a protesting, confused son of Kaido away by force. Seriously, if Kid wasn’t rooted in place as he was, he, too, would have been running from the smell of possessive pheromones and the loopy, content grin on Straw Hat’s face while Trafalgar fucking Law had his face burried in the crook of his neck, his teeth sinking deep into the flesh where Straw Hat’s mating mark was.

Honestly, Kid would rather walk in on them fucking than… this.

“It’s okay, Torao. I’m fine,” Straw Hat said quietly, raising one shaky hand to weakly run his fingers through Trafalgar’s hair.

“When will you stop being so damn reckless? I swear one day I’ll kill you myself,” Trafalgar growled back after a moment, once he finally released his bite.

Straw Hat snickered. “Eh, better you than stupid Kaido.”

Trafalgar groaned in response, frustration with his mate obvious even while his head was still resting against Straw Hat’s shoulder. “Fuck you.”

“No thanks,” Straw Hat laughed, making Trafalgar click his tongue in annoyance.

“You know what I mean,” he snapped, making Straw Hat only laugh harder.

Kid wasn’t entirely sure what this last exchange meant but he sure as hell didn’t need or care to know. Finally breaking himself out of his stupor, he quickly slammed the sliding doors shut once more, then turned on his heel to leave as fast as he could.

As he stormed away, a few last words carried over to him from Straw Hat’s room.

“Jaggy just left,” Straw Hat noted off-handedly.

Trafalgar sighed in response. “Fucking finally.”

Assholes.

Kid all but ran outside then, heading straight for the nearest drinks table and grabbing for the first bottle of hard liquor he could find. He could only hope that would be enough to bleach his entire brain.
