I have a controversial theory
The Papyrus QnA was in-universe staged. Now, I know that sounds weird, so let me explain.
Something's that been bothering me about the Papyrus QnA is that Papyrus is constantly smiling -- Which, yeah, he's a skeleton. So what? But the thing is, is that he's *always* smiling, even when he's supposed to be mad.
Tumblr media
Here, when he's ranting about mayonnaise being used as a beauty item, when he chastises Sans, he's not upset like his sprite before. No, he's smiling. Like he's trying not laugh or something.
It reminds me a lot of this one Noelle sprite in Deltarune.
Tumblr media
Here, Noelle's being playful while also being "mad" or something along those lines. And it's the exact same face Papyrus does. (I suck at describing faces smh)
And it's not just this one case, either. Otherwise we could chalk it up to Papyrus just playing in general. Here's some other points cases of him smiling despite it not being "appropriate":
Tumblr media
(He should be mad at Sans for exposing him, yet he seems like he's having fun with this)
Tumblr media
(Despite his brother chastising him, he's still smiling and seemingly having fun)
There's more, but I'll move onto more compelling point.
Another major red flag that makes me think the skelebrothers staged this entire thing is the fact they're bathing in front of each other. Now, assuming the Undertale fandom got the whole ectodick wrong, this isn't like bad or anything, but it's still strange to me. Why is Papyrus doing this interview inside the bathroom? You'd think he'd be doing this literally anywhere else, but no. His bathroom is the place to be.
Tumblr media
Also, another case is the heavy hitting final question:
Tumblr media
Now, this seems weird to some. It's led many to think that Papyrus forgot or something, but what's really weird is how okay he is with Sans taking over, despite earlier he hated the idea of Sans stealing his interview.
Tumblr media
This tells me that he's purposely avoiding the question. Now, I previously said that it may be because he doesn't want to think about it. But I have a new suggestion this time:
If this was staged, he's purposely leading us on. We know that he knows all about time and space (by extension, probably timelines and universes), so there's no reason for him to have forgotten that he literally came from another universe.
Tumblr media
And he can't really be avoiding the question (Despite him doing it previously with other questions) since unlike this one question:
Tumblr media
He doesn't get nervous before avoiding the question, he just outright does it. So, if he can't be avoiding it and he couldn't have outright forgot it.
That leaves one option: He's purposely hiding it. Thus, meaning, they probably staged it. Not just the one question, but the entire interview, thanks to just how Papyrus acts. If you voiced him as always seconds away from laughing and just overall fucking around with us, it'd make more sense really! Outside of a few instances of course.
Papyrus, and Sans by extension, are purposely hiding it. But why? I mean, of course, Toby Fox wants to raise questions and build hype for Deltarune, but I mean in-universe.
My best guess is that they not only know more than they let on (which is on brand for our favorite skeleton duo), but here's where we enter purely speculation:
The main idea I have is this:
One of them, probably Papyrus, is trying to send a message to a single person in specific, that's right, the fandom's favorite scape-goat... Drumroll please! W.D. Gaster! Of course, saying the name of the Universe they came from for the interview that will be seen by millions of people is bad.
So if he gives a vague hint, before being interrupted and having Sans "finish" the question, he won't be asked why he just gave a vague hint, instead placing the blame on his brother whom is known to pull stunt like this.
But of course, if Gaster is scattered across time and space, then he should know exactly what Papyrus means by his vague hint. And for those who question further, Sans can just claim that Papyrus meant the Ruins, where all monsters used to live. Or if he had to be really specific, he could claim they actually came from the surface, where they hid for a few years after the human-monster war ended.
So, yeah, that's it. This entire interview was staged to get Gaster's attention to lead him back to Deltarune. Why? Who knows, but maybe we're not seeing Sans and Papyrus before they went to Undertale, maybe we're seeing them going back to their hometown after years of being away. Maybe they have unfinished business?

I see your “Gaster Prime’s entry is glitched to hell” and raise you “He writes it himself as a scientific analysis of how becoming a prime soul has changed him”
my friends and i (credit especially to @/devicecontact (hi)) talked about it a bit more actually. gaster would be able to sniff out what hell's deal is pretty early on which is why the superorganism would take great interest in him. i don't know if it'd feel threatened exactly, cause the underground IS in the mouth of hell and functions by its rules, so i think it'd just start playing with him.
i really like the mad scientist/spiraling gaster idea just because i think it's fun to write about so you can just smash those two together. hell is able to hijack technology so it'd talk to him, give him clues and eventually lead him to his own demise all for its own entertainment.
hell would let frisk know of its omniscience again purely for its own entertainment, which is why you'd be able to find records of previous expeditions into hell inside the true lab. all this to say i think the terminal entry on gaster would be written by hell itself and it'd be ridiculously well hidden but still accessible. gaster on the other hand i think would be well suited as a prime soul.
real answer ends here what's under the cut is just me rambling some more cause this ask got the thought ball rolling
in a way you can also use this for sans' character. i don't think everybody would act THAT differently. since the underground functions by hell's rules (and hell itself is by ultrakill canon on another plane of reality altogether) then the saves, loads and resets are entirely given to you by hell. not to mention prime souls in ultrakill seem aware when you die and come back, which you could say means hell just takes v1 and puts it back together every time.
anyways, since sans seems aware that resets, loads and saves are a thing i imagine he'd have some history with gaster and his studies as well. however, he never really acknowledges it nor did he ever go as far as gaster ever did. it's just the type of person he is - he prefers minding his own business. as for how much of hell he's aware of, well. who knows?

Can I request something based on something you reblogged to your side blog? The one about canon papyrus being the only one who doesn’t baby/belittle worry about sans?
Also, I think he’s the smartest of the main AU trio (swap, fell, and canon) because his sole passion being puzzles instead of Murder and Timelines. so including something like that?
Sorry, I’ve never requested a writing thing before but I love your work so much! ^_^
💬
Of course you can, Anon! I hope you like headcanons though because I had no idea how I'd write a crossover like this lol
For those wondering, this is the post in question.
I will preface this by mentioning that I have nicknames for each of these precious bois.
Undertale Sans: Classic
Undertale Papyrus: Vanilla
Underfell Sans: Red
Underfell Papyrus: Edge
Underswap Sans: Blue
Underswap Papyrus: Saffron
Also, I headcanon that Sans is the elder brother in these AU's although the actual age gap may vary. I usually go with about eight years difference because I like the idea of Sans raising Papyrus by himself after Gaster was scattered across time and space. One other thing I should mention is that the Underfell brothers have LV and so Red's HP is higher, but compared to the rest of the Underground, he might as well only have 1 HP.
Papyrus' Thoughts On Sans' Low HP
- While Classic is the weakest monster Vanilla knows, he also knows that his older brother worked extremely hard for years to raise them. They didn't have anyone else and until Vanilla had outgrown his stripes, he was reliant on his brother for everything. They had occasional disagreements of course as children normally do, but no matter what happened they still had each other.
- If Classic was able to do all that, he can handle himself well enough, now if only he could motivate himself enough to properly look after himself. To put it frankly, he respects his brother and loves him dearly.
- Vanilla certainly worries quite a bit about his brother. While Classic is well liked by almost everyone, everytime he gets into an encounter could be the last time. They actually used to spar quite a bit when Vanilla was learning how to use his magic but Classic always avoided every attack. They had to stop though when Vanilla got a little too competitive and Classic began having a hard time keeping up. That was just before Papyrus started trying to join the Royal Guard.
- Vanilla has taken over most of the household responsibilities now, mostly because Classic is struggling with some things, but also because he finds enjoyment in a job well done. While he doesn't really understand what his older brother is going through, Vanilla still loves him dearly and will do anything to try and support him. He's confident that he can help, afterall, he is the Great Papyrus! He is the best at encouraging and supporting his loved ones.
- While Red did his best to raise Edge on his own, they struggled to survive for several years and both had strong personalities which led to many, many fights. They are very much family as they both share the same stubborn nature and are hot-headed to a fault. Unfortunately, this led Edge to resent Red as he didn't think his older brother's rules made any sense. He was the Great and Terrible Papyrus after all! Anyone who would dare challenge him to a fight must have a death wish! It also didn't help that Red wasn't the nicest, but neither was Edge either.
- As soon as Edge was out of his stripes, he got a reality check real quick. Apparently, not everyone would leave him alone, now that he wasn't seen as a child, if he taunted or insulted them. This was when he found out how low Red's HP was. Even Edge had far higher HP and he'd barely been in any encounters so far.
- Cue Edge hatching a plan to both protect themselves (while he resents his brother, he doesn't wish him dead because he's the only one he's got) and elevate his status in monster society like he'd always dreamed. He trained day and night to get stronger and as soon as he could pass as the minimum age to apply, he joined the Royal Guard. As the years passed by, he only grew more ruthless and while Red tried to rein him in before he inevitably got himself killed, Edge was far stronger than he'd thought.
- Red had already been struggling to motivate himself to do basic tasks and so he gave up. He'd done everything he could but Edge had long stopped listening to him, so what point was there in trying? He still looked out for his younger brother of course as he'd made many connections over the years. He just had to endure the constant insults and belittling. It was better than being dead though...right?
- As far back as he remembers, Saffron always had Blue and they were pretty much alone. No matter what happened, Blue always kept a bright smile on his skull and assured Saffron that they would get through it together. Saffron soon noticed that despite his older brother's attempts to be popular and well liked, his continued attempts to befriend people only served to drive them away.
- He had a much easier time making friends and he came to be known as the chill, funny skeleton. Blue was almost uptight in comparison, which Saffron didn't understand. What was the point in getting all worked up and bothered if something didn't go to plan? Still, his brother is pretty magnificent, and he'll always cheer him on.
- Saffron sometimes feels like he's the oldest because he is seen as the more mature one. While deep down he doesn't mean to, it's easy to brush off his brother's ambitions for a more reasonable approach. He won't actually say it out loud, but he is often embarrassed by his brother's antics.
- He got used to pulling strings and calling in favours behind Blue's back, just so his brother could remain blissfully ignorant to what people really think of him. Saffron knows that despite how good of a fighter his brother is, with how low his HP is, he wouldn't last long in a real fight. So he often subtly steers him away from potentially dangerous situations so that he can continue being that beacon of joy and hope for those who need it, like himself for one.
As For Vanilla Being The Smartest...
- I'm not going to rank these characters on an intelligence scale because they're all smart. They just have different interests in my opinion.
- To be fair, Vanilla is passionate about a lot of things, like his friends, his future ambitions, and his various hobbies like cooking and planning battles with his action figures. It just so happens that creating puzzles and usually non-lethal traps is one of the things he is most passionate about.
- Thinking up brand new ideas for puzzles and then actually making them is certainly good exercise for his brain, even if he doesn't actually have one. Most monsters, and later humans as well, don't see that about him though. They see his naturally cheerful and sometimes oblivious demeanor as just that and only those close to Vanilla ever truely see him.
- Sure, Vanilla is a bit slower on the uptake in certain social situations but he isn't dumb at all, far from it! He's the type of guy that would figure out the solution to one of those trick puzzle gadgets surprisingly quickly and then immediately build his own that's much harder. He would get a kick out of a Rubik's cube but would end up trying to make different patterns with the coloured sections rather than simply keep solving it.
- Edge also has a lot of passion, unfortunately he is only publicly passionate about being a Royal Guard and fighting. Behind closed doors though, he has many interests, some of which even his brother isn't aware of. He is passionate about cooking and his future ambitions of course, but he's also secretly a bit of a nerd and he has a soft spot for animals. He'll do anything for his precious Doomfanger and he likes to collect human things like books and electronics.
- While Edge does make traps and puzzles, they lack the finesse of Vanilla's and are generally always lethal. Well that's not entirely true, but they'll definitely maime any unlucky person that gets caught and if they're still alive, Edge pretty much always finishes the job. He tries not to think about it much, but a part of him dislikes putting people out of their misery and he often feels relieved when he just finds monster dust.
- Edge definitely has a better combat sense than either Vanilla or Saffron though, but it's because of the rough world he grew up in and all the experience he has. Also, having high LV makes hurting people a lot easier, both physically and emotionally. The other two would probably still be able to give him a run for his money if they ever sparred, although Vanilla would last longer than Saffron just because he likes fighting more.
- Saffron is an interesting case, as he's technically a combination of Vanilla's appearance but with Classic's personality. He doesn't care for a lot of things anymore as he doesn't see the point. He has quite a few interests though that neither Vanilla or Edge share.
- Despite his overall lazy demeanor, Saffron could qualify as a genius if he applied himself. Growing up, he regularly devoured any and all books he could find, both from the Librarby and the dump. He was, and still is to an extent, interested in technical and scientific things, including theoretical physics. He's friends with Undyne of course, to the extent where she occasionally asks for his input with various projects. Saffron would probably have an easy time if he wanted to apply to be a Royal Scientist so he could be more involved, but he doesn't want to go through all the effort. He quite likes being the lazy, carefree brother.
- Otherwise, Saffron enjoys making people laugh, more often groan, with his humor and he's constantly thinking up puns for various situations. He's also musically gifted but doesn't play much, except to provide incidental humour. (Would he also play trombone or something else? I'm not sure...) Another thing Saffron is good at, is gathering information on people. He's very observant, he has to be though with his role as Judge, and the ease at which he can make friends comes in handy when doing so.

Came back wrong theory
I think an upcoming motif in Deltarune will revolve around characters attempting to revive various family members, only for them to come back horribly wrong.
Firstly, there is Noelle, who wants healing magic to cure her father's ailments. I believe this is foreshadowing of a future chapter, where she somehow takes her father to a dark world in order to heal him, only for the results to make him look similar to the DT extractor. A machine infamous for looking like a deer's skull.
Tumblr media
But there's another machine that looks like a skull in Undertale: The Gaster Blasters, which resemble a turtle skull, snake skull or dragon skull. For relevance, though, I will assume it's a turtle skull.
Tumblr media
It could be that Father Alvin is following a similar path to Noelle and is trying to figure out a way to bring his father back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He gets the idea to somehow revive Gerson, only for Gerson to come back as...Gaster?
Tumblr media
Even though, under the basic theory, the Gaster Blaster is a turtle skull, it could be intentionally ambiguous to fit all three skulls. As all three can equally fit Gaster's hypothetical characterization.
The turtle represents Gaster's ties to Gerson and how he was originally meant as a revival of a long-gone man, only to turn out to be his own person.
The snake represents how Gaster became symbolically "the Devil" to Deltarune's world since his drive to create a better future for the world only ended up hurting it more. Putting the player in the control of Kris when they heavily dislike it, making the superbosses mental state break, and possibly more.
The dragon is a reference to Gaster's hobbies and interests. Gaster is shown to name discoveries after RPG tropes in Undertale, and maybe this is a deep tie to the man he came from if he is a revived Gerson. After all, what are RPGs but modern fantasies? Gerson used to love to write about fantasy scenarios, and Gaster, hypothetically, would love to play through them. Not to mention, one of the games in the Deltarune universe is Dragon Blazers 3, a game that features an ice-themed boss. It would be so interesting if the Gaster Blaster was designed after that boss' appearance and attacks. A way for Gaster to show off his interests while also being a legitimate threat.
The biggest issue here is that both co-existed in Undertale, though it's possible that Undertale's Gaster has a separate origin or even "came in" from Deltarune.
Then Undertale's Gaster gets thrown around about time and space in the Undertale universe. What is important to know about Gaster is that it is somewhat implied that he likes RPG tropes due to naming EXP after them, puzzles due to the CORE's layout, and cheesy acronyms.
Who would fit these character traits after Gaster's gone? Papyrus. Maybe Sans tried to bring back Gaster too, and he came back as Papyrus. Recreating Gaster could have been one of the purposes of Sans' lab.
Papyrus has a poor memory because he is just a fragmented version of the man that came before him. And if Gerson Gaster is also true in Undertale, then Papyrus would be a fragment of a fragment.
Maybe a deeper meaning about creation can be assigned to all three.
Noelle trying to heal her dad being "flawed creation", creating something in order to help others (in this case her dad) that ultimately ends up flawed.
Alvin's attempt to revive Gerson is "corrupt creation", basically removing his father's right to rest in peace in order to get him back. If Alvin's motivations are tied to his questioning if his father was truly proud of him, and he wants to bring Gerson back for validation, it could be a little sympathetic. However, even with family bonds, raising the dead is not the right move, and Alvin would find himself distraught if his revival of Gerson did end up becoming an instinctively different person who has interests and hobbies that Alvin can't comprehend.
Tumblr media
Ironically, if Alvin really is Gaster's creator, and if Alvin does express a level of disappointment in how he isn't Gerson, then Alvin's relationship with Gaster would be similar to the perceived one he had with his own father.
Sans trying to fix Gaster would be a recycled creation. Papyrus would be a "wonderful new thing" made out of "old stuff". So Sans would still be supportive of Papyrus despite him not being Gaster, because, hey, Papyrus is a pretty cool guy and is still his brother no matter what.
All three of these could also symbolically portray the theoretical audience's perception of Deltarune. Noelle represents the new audience, which gets invested in the characters only to see them get killed. Alvin represents the returning audience, who are disappointed Deltarune isn't more like Undertale. Sans represents the returning audience, which likes the mix of old Undertale and new storytelling.
Kinda stretchy, but something I may build on in the future if there are more allusions to this kinda stuff.

Hot take but honestly I don't really like the idea of AddiSpam (and past Jevil too, for that matter) being a sweet and innocent little uwu bean who only became evil after Gaster got his hands on him. Personally, I think it's more interesting and more better fitting in the narrative if he was never really that good of of a person to begin with even before Gaster's influence and also raises an interesting debacle on whether he truly "deserved" what happened to him.
That's a good interpretation!
First of all, I can understand where people come from when they make Spamton formerly a chipper, friendly person before becoming corrupted. It does feel like a strong tragedy, and is in essence the trope of Corrupt the Cutie. It is a very popular trope with a lot of tragedy potential so I absolutely get where people are coming from and why they want to use this trope for Spamton.
Tropes are not bad, but they can become overused especially in a specific case like this. I personally find nothing wrong with the Corrupt the Cutie interpretation as, again, it's easy to imagine and it's a popular trope in tragic characters. However, I can agree with you that it would make for a more interesting character if he were never morally pure at the start, and that's personally what I think.
He was always a little smug, had an inflated ego that he used to mask his insecurities, didn't respect his coworkers, you name it. It makes his downfall easier to imagine and you can see why the Addisons don't want to talk about him. On the other hand there is the "He was just unlucky" line that implies less about him being an unpleasant person and moreso somebody who was down on his luck and couldn't reach the heights he wanted to. You could definitely combine the two qualities, perhaps him being so unlucky led to him being sour and unpleasant, and when he finally hit his big break, he got worse from there on.

So
want to talk a little bit about my favorite characters so this is a post about Papyrus, Gaster and Rouxls. (forgive me Mettaton, there is nothing about you)
At the beginning I wanted to add some things to "Papyrus Knight Theory". It will be very chaotic because this is my first post, but if anyone has any ideas, let them write. if someone said something similar, could you give me a link?
And also, use google translator because my English sucks.
First, I saw people think the knight was doing something terrible. 'Cause you know, opening the Fountains leads to Roaring etc. But actually I think Papyrus might be looking for Gaster
I mean, we know Papyrus tried to fix the machine behind the house. And the blueprints for that machine are probably in Wingdings. I think this is the machine the Skelebros are trying to get Gaster out of Deltarune? Or they both want to move to Deltarune.
Gaster fell into his Creation, so he fell into Deltarune (theory only). Or, more specifically, fell into the dark world.
"Dark darker yet Darker"
I think Gaster opened a dark world in a dark world. (Do we know what happens then?)
So to sum up what I mean. I believe Papyrus opens dark worlds to find Gaster.
Second, I want to raise the topic that it was probably the Knight that caused Jevil and Spamton to go crazy. Anyone have any idea what Papyrus might tell them in that case?
I mean, I know people think Gaster told them that they live in the game etc. But what if Papyrus told them something?
I know there is a theory that Papyrus opens up worlds because he wants friends, but I think it would be too easy for Tobys ideas.
Also, We know that Gaster himself is a representation of the Devil from the Bible. I thought that Gaster found out he was lives in the game and defied the creator (Toby / annoying dog) and was thrown into the void for it (removed from the game). You know how the devil fell for defying God.
I also think the Annoying dog is a representation of God. 'Cause Dog is God in reverse
Toby likes anagrams
But that would also suggest that the Gaster is now almost on par with Toby Fox himself.
(I'm not sure I put it right)
It can be said that from a fictional character from the game he becomes a real person
Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. But I love the Gaster concept because it gives me the feeling of a really good Creepypasta. Anyone have the same?
Maybe I'll do a separate post sometime about how much I like Gaster as the presentation of the Devil in Undertale / Deltarune
CHANGE TOPIC TO SECRET BOSS
I've been wondering about that. And I found something interesting.
Jevil fell out of favor with the king and was locked in a cell. He can be described as a Fallen Angel.
Spamton, which himself has a lot of biblical references, has ceased to be Big Shot and has fallen out of favor as well. May be referred to as Fallen Angel.
Do you know how many Fallen Angels are there?
Seven. As many chapters. And each chapter has one Secret Boss / Fallen Angel.
The last and most important is, of course, Satan. So I think you have high hopes that Gaster himself will appear in Chapter 7.
But do you know who's in front of him? Beelzebub
The one that is said to be strongly related to worms .... Beelzebub is also another name for the devil himself.
Strongly related to worms? -Rouxls Kaard has worms
Another name for the devil? - Rouxls looks very similar to MysteryMan, which is probably Gaster
"Baal" means Lord. And Rouxls Kaard referred to himself as Lord of the Puzzles.
If you have other connections between them, please write to me.
By the way, Beelzebub is sixth in the line of Demons.
Secret enemies are in reverse order to the Bosses in Undertale during Genocide.
Following this route, chapter 6 would be a chapter of Papyrus. A We know that Rouxls Kaard is a representation of Papyrus in a dark world. (Just like Jevil is Sans, Spamton is Mettaton etc)
I think Rouxls Kaard will be the secret boss in the Papyrus Chapter.
Rouxls is a great fit as Secret Boss. You know, he has a good chance of falling out of favor, because nobody actually wants him anywhere. He is as forgotten as Papyrus.
What I mean. Jevil was forgotten after he was locked in a cell. No one remembers Spamton after he ended up in the garbage. Rouxls Kaard has not even fallen out of favor yet, and is already forgotten.
Everyone wonders what it looks like when the characters go crazy after meeting a mysterious person. Maybe Rouxls will be an example of this and we will be able to watch him slowly plunging into madness?
By the way. Duke of Puzzles It is also a term for Rouxls. Duke is another word meaning "prince". I sincerely believe that Rouxls Kaard is the Prince From The Dark, and I am not saying this ironically
I just don't think Rouxls knows it yet.
the theme of Deltarune is being forgotten. And the three characters that are forgotten in this story are Gaster, Papyrus and Rouxls Kaard. Maybe they are the real three heroes?

When it comes to Noir's AU it's called Monotale, basically his story is that his Frisk are two different children. Queenie and King who are about the age of Kris and may possibly be older than them.
Gaster in this AU made Sans and Papyrus raising to understand the darker forms of love magic*. While it wasn't their natural magic they both easily attuned and were put in charge of Queenie and King.
Gaster would feed off of Sans and Papyrus who would feed off of Queenie and King. However Papyrus and Sans never tried to use any type of negative enforcement on the both of them. Gaster didn't take that well, to make up for the lost magic he started injecting the matter that would congeal on the bodies of amalgamations into Sans and Papyrus.
Their emotions fueled Gaster's magic and in turn they would have to keep their LV up. Papyrus wore down quickly though, Sans noticed something was wrong and decided to handle it all on his own.
He ripped Papyrus' soul out and injected his brother's soul into Queenie and King, killing Papyrus while magically powering the children. To Sans that was the best to keep his brother's memory while also putting him out of his misery.
The same day he overloaded the Core and lured Gaster there, killing Gaster and making it out with the kids.
They do make it to the surface in this AU. It's...just, Noir learns about a love of making dolls and made the choice that Monsters needed a leader who was more perceptive than a Goat who couldn't see the atrocities that were being committed by monsters in his court.
*Love magic is a powerful form of magic that have many different sections but boils down into a few. It tends to come from feeding off of the passive magic that leeks off from the natural world and that is part of what makes it powerful. However the magic used can also be taken from other living beings but that comes with the potential with the user hurting the person the love. This means even the user gaining levels of LV but in a way where the burn of it doesn't just effect them but the person they took the magic from. Because of the victims lack of LVs they will either have to raise their own LV or slowly die like a rotting from the inside out.
*Noir changed his name after he blew up the Core and lived in a pocket space that he created in Waterfall. Queenie and King feel a familial connection to Noir and it's actually good for them. Noir would never harm the children as he finds his father's way of raising him disgusts him, but will teach them values that... aren't morally the best. He thinks he does everything out of love when it comes to people he cares about, however when he hates he HATES.
There are a lotta fucked up and weird about him, but like...I would like to draw it more.

The book of Ceruleans trauma by me💕 his author
*stands at podium
"Ok so,,, I have come to the conclusion that I myself am losing track of the cannon of Cerulean soo here's what I'm using for character references.
i.e. major moments in his life.
Created by his gaster to be a tool to both kill/fight the humans and also breath the barrier.
at 12 papyrus is created
He spends the first 17 years of life in the lab.
He is forced to wear a shock collar and is trained by gaster to follow certain commands and respond certain ways to certain stimuli
breaking down after one shot to many of DT and killing his father and everyone in the lab too he escapes
Only papyrus and an intern (undyne) survive his first LV rush.
He has at this point killed 20 ish monsters and gained 7 LV
He raises Papyrus for the next 6 years after getting them both out... then Papyrus runs away (to the queen) and goes no contact. He is 23 at this point
The human falls when he's 27.
The resests start.
The human has done only one pacifist route all the others are either genoside or neutral.
reset number 148 happens.. he breaks. His LV that he already has and the need to make this shit stop makes him resort to well murder. He kills everyone in the underground and the human thinks its funny so they reset about 50 more times where this is the case... Ceruleans LV gets ticked up from 7 to 8 simply because of the residual ability to cause harm.
He stops having the drive to actually stop the human. Thus starts the suicide resets or... Cerulean tries to kill himself every reset just so he doesn't have to deal with the same bullshit. after about 20.. temmie intervenes and sets Cerulean straight. Telling him about the AU's.
They meet Error and Ink. - Error wraps them up in his strings.. unknowingly leaving a few on his soul when Cerulean breaks free.
Ink and Error destroy his world for the sake of the balance (yes there is a balance but it's actually more toward the destruction side so they have no reason to destroy his world.)
Cerulean is stuck in the void for 3 weeks.. no sleep no food. very little interaction _ goes a little stir crazy - meets Cascade
Error takes over his body. It sucks... It's painful and it feels like when gaster injected DT into his soul but worse- because his body is beating the shit out of Cascade (not really lol his stats are really shitty) - Error does not know how to use Ceruleans body.
Dream "saves" Cerulean from Error. -Plants a bit of his magic into his head making him unable to refuse Dream. (fucks with the memories of his AU)
Dreams plot is discovered and he is locked out of Ceruleans brain by Nightmare! Who also fucks with his brain but more so in the hopes of fixing it.
Cross sets off mind control trauma with you guessed it! MIND CONTROL!!! :)))
Nightlight sets off Gaster trauma by digging around in his brain!
Now because of the talk with Nightlight Cerulean is having trouble with identity issues and also he just had his first LV rush in years.. so theres that.
Is Cerulean actually the spare Version of BlueBerry? Will I ever let anyone know? Find out more on the next episode of DRAGON BALL Z!!!!!!!

Hi, i'd like a matchup for my sons (ocs), please. Their names are Glitchy (8) and Eon (11), and their both the kids of a human error. We live in a big house in a forest, and i have a lot of experience with bitties. They've been raised with bitties ever since i adopted them, and we have some living in the house that they help care for as well, though they want their own. Their elder siblings, all of which have moved out, own bitties as well.
Glitchy is a hyperactive sweetheart who, ironically for an error kid, loves affection and cuddles. Hes prone to excitement-induced glitch attacks, though their not dangerous. He particularly loves to draw. I think a high energy bitty that could keep up with him would fit well, though he already has a blue ribbon blueberror from, i believe, selkiesbittybonanza, so they'd need to get along, obviously.
Eon is quiet, nervous, sensitive to sensory input, and his touch adversivness depends on the day. (He's a sweetheart too) He likes to read & write stories (dreams of being a theatre writer), and bake, and he's more prone to erroring shutdowns and panic. He's very close with his brother, so hyperactivity is something he's used to, but i think a cheery or calm bitty would be best. He doesn't have any bitties yet, but hopefully that will soon change.
As for the bitty's type, anything but the bugs and satyrs/fauns, but we have the most experience with lamias, animal-eared (kitsunes, nekos, etc) and regulars. Sorry if this is too specific.
Not to specific at all! Knowing all this helps us with matchups and knowing hard no's helps us stay away from types you don’t want/like/trigger you for whatever reason!
Also, I often add the newest types(I also often forget when asks were sent and I'm constantly adding new bitty types!) So I am going to assume you don’t want any Unicorns either! As they would fall very close to the Satyrs/Fauns!
-
Glitchy:
Carpet Python(Tale paps lamia): These caring noodles can get along with just about any bitty type, they can also help with glitches/errors/crashes as well! They are also a more affectionate type so there won't be a problem there!
Tiel Inu(Tale sans Aralez): These bitties are super active and affectionate! They might end up being a bit too active, and they get zoomies when they are happy and healthy! They can fly so this may be a bit of a challenge but they always come back! They are not picky eaters nor super ornery, so they are a pretty good beginner type, say for the energy levels! They have separation anxiety and hate to be alone, but this is similar to his Blue Ribbon already so there shouldn't be any issues with it!
Sketti(normal tale paps): These friendly bois are as caring as they are trusting, they can adjust to a new home easily and are very excitable, even hyperactive at times! They are patient and love to help, so they can also help with crashes/glitches/errors as well! Though they can get a little loud sometimes and at the center, some Skettis have accidentally caused some glitches/crashes/errors among some of out error types, though more out of surprise than anything and they always felt bad about it!
-
Eon:
San Garter(error sans lamia): These bitties know what its like to not want much physical affection and glitches/crashes/error, they can be pretty calm and even lazy, though they do like knocking things over! But some wooden blocks or bells they can knock around is an easy fix! Note that many San Garters do become comfortable with physical touch with time, and can even be an affectionate type with their owners/housemates, though not all are like that!
Bookworm(normal tale gaster): These bitties might be affectionate but can do just fine either going to Glitchy or another bitty when they want some affection! They love to write and take notes, they also are a type that love to learn about things, and will find whatever they can on errors/glitches/crashes so he can help Eon!
1.0 Toy Chica: These bitties are a much more optimistic type and will understand when Eon doesn't want too much physical contact, they love to cook/bake and can both be more energetic and on the calmer side when needed, they love family time and things like game or movie nights!

Love is Blind - Part 1
So I’ve been hanging out with @studionovella and the team for @nightmare-castle, and the sheer talent in their discord server is so amazing. It led me to be inspired, and while I’m typically more of a Sanscest writer, I figured that it’d be fun to try something new considering the source of my inspiration! So have some Nightmare x MC (Nightmare x Reader).
Be warned, this story handles blindness and... probably some other sensitive topics considering it’s me. So just watch the tags for any relevant triggers!
*******************************************************************************************
You didn’t think that it was possible, but somehow you had fallen for Nightmare. On the surface he was cold, cruel, and calculating, using everyone he could to advance his goals. But if you could tolerate the coldness, get past his clinical treatment of those he believed were beneath him, then there was so much more to him. Nightmare was a scholar, a brilliant mind with a vision for a world all his own. He appreciated the arts, often enjoying his downtime with a good book and a calming cup of tea. And believe it or not, there was a small part of him that genuinely cared for the skeletons under his charge. You’ve seen that side of him more than most, managing to open even his eye to what was hidden beneath the centuries of anger and hatred.
Even if negativity was still a large part of who he was, you found yourself able to accept that darkness, because it only made the small lights within him shine brighter. Just like the stars the two of you were gazing at. Though as your gaze shifted to the skeleton currently dominating your thoughts, you found that piercing cyan eye of his locked onto you instead of the sky. If there was ever any doubt in your mind that your feelings were reciprocated, one look at his gaze would sweep it all away. There was a tenderness to him, reserved only for you as he would say. It was only in these moments where the two of you were alone that he would let his imposing demeanor slide.
Getting moments to yourselves was easier said than done though. Despite the sheer size of the castle, the others always seemed to be around. They knew how Nightmare favoured you, how he treated you special and wasn’t as harsh. You were pretty sure that they’d managed to piece everything together on their own, even if none of them ever said anything for fear of angering their king. That said, some of them, namely Killer, seemed to delight in getting in the way of your fleeting moments alone. And there was always no shortage of work to be done, not when your partner was as ambitious as he was. Nightmare aimed to create an empire, and you were doing what you could to further his goals. Even if all that work and Killer’s interference left you and Nightmare fleeing to other worlds in order to have some semblance of a relationship.
Outertale was a favourite destination of yours, the beauty of the cosmos always taking your breath away. It always seemed so far removed from the chaos of the multiverse, or the chaos of the castle. The peace and quiet out here made it perfect for when both you and your partner just needed a break. You could stand out here for hours, watching the subtle shifts in the sky or mapping constellations.
But for now, you were seemingly locked in a staring contest with the lord of darkness, neither willing to look away or break the silence that had fallen. Unsure of what to do, you simply reached out with your finger and booped the tip of his nose. The look of utter surprise on his face left you giggling, only for his own rich laughter to mingle with yours.
“You dare to lay a hand on the God of Negativity, hmm?” He teased, pulling you close with his tentacles before wrapping his arms around your waist. “You are either very brave or very foolish… maybe a bit of both. How shall I deal with your crime, my little moon?”
You couldn’t help but swoon a bit at the pet name he called you, grinning up at him like a fool as you took advantage of the close proximity to snuggle close. “I could swear my love to you, would that appease the great Nightmare?”
“Perhaps,” he chuckled, the distance closing between the two of you even further as he ducked his head down to be level with your own. Nightmare opened his mouth, perhaps to say something else or to move in for the kiss you were anticipating. Before either option could happen though, the dark skeleton froze for a split second. There wasn’t even time to ask what was wrong before you found yourself hefted into his arms, the two of you dodging a volley of bright blue arrows that had speared where you’d been moments ago.
Your heart hammered in your throat, adrenaline pumping through your veins as you tried to get a grip on what was happening. Nightmare still had you cradled to his chest, dodging arrows and… was that paint? Following the paint’s trajectory, you could see your partner’s enemies had managed to crash your little date.
The Star Sanses stood on the other end of the floating chunk of rock you were on, the portal they’d used to arrive closing behind them. Blue was just coming through the portal, his gaster blaster hammer in his grip. Dream had another arrow ready to fire, though he hesitated upon seeing you staring back at him. Ink on the other hand wasted no time in splattering more of his paints everywhere, a tentacle raising to block you from the oncoming attack. The paint hissed and fizzled on contact, a growl leaving Nightmare as he jumped to another nearby rock to escape the barrage.
“Night, are you okay?!” You look up to see him trying to hide his pain, showing you that those paints are far more than something to be smeared on a piece of paper. While you’d heard stories from the others about the chaotic creator, you’d never met him in person or seen him fight. Seeing that paint flying towards you was way scarier than the guys’ stories had led you to believe.
“I’ll be fine,” Nightmare insisted as he set you down, even if you knew that attack hurt. “Look, you need to remain here where you’ll be safe. I don’t care what kind of training you’ve been partaking in with the others; I refuse to let you endanger yourself by fighting them. Ink especially is dangerous, keep away from him at all costs. If you cannot dodge his attacks, make sure to shield your face. His paint can burn like acid if he wishes, and while liquid negativity protects my body, you have no such defenses. Give me your word that you will remain safe while I deal with these pests.”
As much as you wanted to argue that you could help, even you couldn’t muster the confidence to speak against him with such a stern glare directed at you. It was clear that Nightmare wouldn’t take no for an answer on this one, so you had no choice but to nod your head meekly. “I-I’ll stay here,” you promised, glancing up to see him seemingly satisfied. Without another word, he rushed off, preventing Blue from getting any closer with his large hammer.
Watching Nightmare take on all three of the Star Sanses by himself was both awe-inspiring and terrifying, much like the first times you’d joined sparring sessions with the guys. But there wasn’t the assurance in the back of your mind that nobody would be out to kill you. While it might not be the goals of all of the Stars, there was very much mortal danger in this fight for both you and the one you loved. Staying on the sidelines like this was painful, leaving you feeling useless as Nightmare struggled to hold off the onslaught.
Were they not essentially your enemies, you’d be impressed by the coordination and teamwork the Stars possessed. All three of them were capable of both melee and ranged attacks, and wordlessly organized themselves so that one of their own was never in danger of being hit by their own attacks. Dream’s precision with his arrows allowed him to stay primarily a ranged fighter, while Blue’s blasters and Ink’s attacks were a bit too widespread to risk while one of them fought in close combat. Nightmare was the only one without a specific ranged attack, which probably explained why the others rarely got close to attack. Your lover’s tentacles gave him reach though, and the ability to hit multiple targets at once, so he was somehow able to hold his own against all three.
The battle looked to be a stalemate… until one of the Stars suddenly switched tactics. While Blue rushed in with a hammer and bones at his side, Ink actually turned his back on the fight. He seemed a little lost, like he was trying to remember something, only for his eyes to light up as he locked gazes with you. Instant panic seized you as the one skeleton that Nightmare warned you about came straight for you, manic glee plastered over his face as he quickly crossed the distance between the two of you. A glance back at the battle proved that Nightmare had seen what was going on, but Blue was keeping him from coming to your aid. So it was up to you to think fast and avoid the creator, hope bubbling in you that this might actually make things easier. If you could keep Ink busy by dodging his attacks, then Nightmare might be able to take on the remaining two with better success before coming after Ink.
With this admittedly crazy plan in your head, you began a game of cat and mouse with Ink, jumping from one place to the next. If you didn’t have a splash-happy maniac chasing you, it would’ve been cool to enjoy the low gravity of Outertale. For now though, it was all that was allowing you to escape most of the attacks directed at you. You were far from unscathed though, small splashes of paint eating away at your arms and legs. It burned, but was nothing you couldn’t deal with as you continued to dodge and weave the bulk of the attacks. So long as none of it touched your face, you would be fine.
Glancing back at the main battle going on, your hopes of Nightmare doing better against two targets instead of three were steadily being crushed. He seemed distracted, constantly looking up to watch you kite Ink around the area. Instead of focusing on the two he had to deal with, he was so worried about you and Ink that he was now losing. It wouldn’t be so bad if he was facing off against Ink and Blue, because there was little the two could do beyond superficial damage. Dream on the other hand was still very much a threat, his arrows of pure positivity being about the only thing that could seriously hurt. And you could see several piercing the ground, coated in the black negativity that Nightmare relied on for protection. It was a surefire way to see when he’d been hit, and the staggering amount of these soiled arrows made it clear that your partner wasn’t holding his own anymore. Guilt welled up in you, because you were the reason he was now losing this fight. While there wasn’t much you could honestly do to shake Ink from your trail, reason did little to quell the negativity rising inside you. All you could hope for was that your own despair could give Nightmare just a bit more power, enough to keep himself safe at least.
As time dragged on, both you and Nightmare were running out of stamina. Your legs cried for rest as you continued to run away from the creator, while your lover’s movements were growing noticeably sluggish. More arrows seemed to connect than not at this point, and he had barely any time to recover from one attack before dealing with another. The two of you were badly losing, and it was quite clear now why Nightmare rarely let anyone from the castle venture out on their own.
The Stars seemed to sense this sudden weakness in their target, Dream finally stopping his barrage to call out to the one going after you. “Ink! Stop playing around, I need your help!” Help? What help could Ink possibly be? Even his corrosive paints couldn’t breach the surface of Nightmare’s negativity, the only thing that could was Dream’s… oh… oh no.
As the realization hit you, Ink finally gave up his pursuit. “Woo! Looks like my plan actually worked… at least I think this was my plan. Whatever, let’s do this!” Laughing at some untold joke, Ink hopped away from you to return to the large rock that most of the battle had been on. At the same moment though, you felt your legs moving as the horrific reality of their plan hit you. Ink purposefully went after you to distract Nightmare, allowing the others to weaken him enough so that their special attack would hit. The creator might not be able to damage the surface, but if Dream’s arrow ripped through first, then there’d be a narrow window where Nightmare’s greatest defense would be gone. In a single spot he’d be vulnerable, which is why they needed to slow him down enough to ensure their hit would work.
You weren’t going to let that happen. Promise be damned, your soul was screaming at you to protect the one you loved, and you were going to heed its call. The ache in your legs went completely ignored, adrenaline pushing you forward with more speed than you thought you could muster. You needed to be faster though; Ink was already there, and Blue had set about corralling Nightmare to keep him still.
Only a few floating chunks of rock were between you and your beloved now, but you still weren’t fast enough. Panic rose once again as you watched Dream draw back his bowstring, the arrow glimmering faintly in the surrounding darkness. Ink stood ready beside him, the paint coating his brush a dangerous shade of red. That same paint had left such horrible burns along your limbs, and you could only imagine the damage it might do to the weakened god of negativity. With Blue running interference and drawing Nightmare’s attention, it was only a matter of time now.
As your feet touched down on the large space rock, several feet from everyone else, you knew that you were out of time. Nightmare was too absorbed in his fight to hear your warning calls, and it would only alert the two and likely cause them to reset before trying again. This attack would only work once though, because once Nightmare knew of their plan, he wouldn’t let it work a second time. That meant that you had one chance to stop them, especially when you saw that Dream was aiming towards his twin’s soul.
Courage and determination welled within your soul, driving you forward despite the risk you were running straight into. Any number of things could go seriously wrong, but… you couldn’t risk them killing him. Nightmare was the bane of the multiverse to many, but he was everything to you. Gritting your teeth, you timed your steps so that you’d only enter Dream’s field of vision after he fired, preventing them from stopping you and trying again. The second he saw you, the god of positivity’s expression changed from one of grim determination to one of shock and horror, his hand reaching out as if he could stop his attack or stop you. His hesitance once again wasn’t present in Ink, the creator wasting no time in flinging the red paint directly after the arrow.
With mere seconds to spare, your outstretched hands made contact with the cool goop that covered Nightmare’s body. All of your momentum and might went into a push, knocking the deity away from the incoming attack. Your lover turned back to look at you the second you made contact, his eye conveying the same shock and horror as Dream’s had when he saw you. All you could do was smile, knowing that you’d managed to save him no matter what danger you’d put yourself in. Nightmare reached out for you just as the arrow whizzed past, its trajectory leaving it slicing past your eyes. Pain bloomed as the minor cuts scratched the outsides of your eyes, but it was nothing compared to what came next. You’d been so concerned about the arrow that you temporarily forgot about Ink. His attack followed as per the Stars’ plan, splattering over the both of you with its acidic effect. The scratches to your eyes had left you temporarily blind, so you weren’t able to see that red paint as it splashed all over your face. The last thing you saw was instead Nightmare, reaching out to you as if to save you from this pain.

debacle rewritten. | chapter i
Pairing: Gaster x Reader
Summary: Things changed when you were the first Special Agent to ever be partnered with a monster. History was made the day you shook hands with W.D. Gaster, the reclusive Royal Scientist of King Asgore. Despite his coarse exterior, the two of you grow to be a good team.
When a national threat emerges, you two are the first to be assigned to its investigation. It's a complex mystery - foreign to you in that it involves the use of magic to thwart evidence analysis. With your partner by your side, the two of you learn to navigate this new territory together.
Warnings: This fic will eventually contain large amounts of blood and gore. PTSD will be mentioned. Explicit language. Eventual smut.
A/N: Hello all! I just want to quickly establish a few things.
So, I got the opportunity to actually visit an FBI field office over the summer, and that's the inspiration for this story. I'd like to point out that the field office here and people on this branch are all fictional. I did my best to keep everything modern and realistic, but that will probably slip in some areas for the sake of the story.
Secondly, no political comments, please. I hear enough of it IRL and don't want it leaking here.
I think that's about all for now. I hope you enjoy! (Sorry the intro is so long, it's the last time it'll be this long!)
...
This is it.
A lengthy sigh escapes your lips as you straighten the cuffs of your suit for what must be the millionth time today. Nervousness bubbles within your stomach as you fiddle with your hands. The only noise present is the ticking of the clock mounted on the wall behind you. The chair you’re seated in fails to aid in your relaxation as your eyes flit about the office, eagerly awaiting the arrival of someone. Anyone at this rate. You aren’t sure how much longer you can just sit here.
A few moments pass before your anxiety grows too great for you to remain sitting. You stand, rubbing your face as you take a moment to breathe. Panicking won’t help anything. You have to give yourself credit, too – out of all your coworkers, your boss selected you to be the first human ever to be partnered with a monster for a federally-assigned task. This is a historic moment marking the unification of human and monsterkind alike ever since they escaped the Undergroud. As a result, you’re here – about to be partnered with one of King Asgore’s most trusted scientists.
Why me?
Your thoughts are interrupted when you hear the door swinging open with a slight creak. You immediately turn to see who has joined you.
There stands your boss, Special Agent in Charge Warner Boothe. He’s a man in his thirties with hair done up more neatly than normal. You swallow, ceasing your fidgeting as you face him.
“Hey,” he greets, a taut smile on his face. You can tell he’s nervous too, which simultaneously comforts and scares you.
“Hi,” you reply. “Is it time?”
“Just about. I came here a bit early because I wanted to talk to you.” He steps inside, closing the door gently. He adjusts his tie as he faces you. “Look, I’m not going to lie. There are a lot of people out there. Paparazzi, reporters, news cast, security…it’s a lot. More than what we’ve dealt with in the past. It’s intimidating as hell, but you’re going to be great. Just be yourself.”
You grasp your forehead, sucking in a deep breath. “I’m…I’m about to be on national news. That thought alone is scarier than any job I’ve worked before.”
How are things going to change after this?
Warner chuckles, patting your shoulder. “In the time that I’ve known you, you’ve navigated even the most complex of challenges with a level mind and clear conscious. That’s part of the reason I chose you for this. You’re going to be fine. It’s just a matter of believing that yourself.”
You exhale shakily, nodding. Yeah. They’re just people who want to see what’s going on. And yeah, they may be broadcasting it for the whole nation to see…but hey. It’s a historic day, and you’re here for it firsthand.
“Okay. Thank you. I think I’m ready now.”
Warner smiles. “Good. I’ll show you where you’ll be waiting until I give the cue, which will just be me announcing your name towards the end of my spiel.”
“Noted.”
With that, you follow him out of the waiting room. The place is relatively empty, which makes sense considering the event today. King Asgore is here, along with Queen Toriel. They would be making a speech alongside your boss, presenting you and your new partner.
Eventually, you make it to the hallway leading outside to the patio, where you hear muffled voices. The door has been propped open by a weight. You step to the side, nodding at Warner as he smiles and exits.
You close your eyes for a moment, trying to gather yourself. It’s going to be okay. It’s going to be okay. You repeat that over and over as you stare at the carpeted floor and dim hall. Pictures of previous Special Agents in Charge line the wall, and a lounging sofa has been pushed against the wall you’re leaning against. You can’t bring yourself to sit again, though. You’re far too jittery now.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are ready to start,” comes a familiar voice. You recognize it as King Asgore’s.
You hear Warner’s voice come on next: “I agree. First of all, allow us to officially welcome everyone to the Ebott Field Office. Today is a landmark event that will further aid in the advancement of human and monster unification.”
“We have decided it is time we merge our resources, manpower, and intelligence in order to create a safer nation,” Asgore adds.
“And in doing so, we are creating a partnership. A very special partnership, at that – the first official monster-human team.”
“The formation of this team signifies the Federal Bureau of Investigaton’s alliance with monsterkind.”
“And it is now I introduce the Special Agent selected for this opportunity…” Warner says your name, which almost makes you lightheaded for some reason. Even so, you narrow your stare before taking a deep breath and stepping outside.
It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust to the sun’s brightness, but soon you see both Warner and Asgore smiling at you kindly. Asgore is dressed in golden armor, donning his massive trident. Despite his large stature, you can see the kindness embedded within his stare.
The crowd applauds, so you smile and do your best to relax as you step towards the center, where two podiums stand side-by-side. You wait behind it with your hands folded in front of you, noting that there is a pen on top of both podiums.
“And it is now I introduce the Royal Scientist selected for this opportunity… Mister W.D. Gaster.”
The audience applauds again as a tall skeleton walks out. He’s much more graceful than you are, and by the looks of it, way prettier.
He’s dressed in a white, long-sleeved button up covered by a pinstriped waistcoat colored black and grey. He dons a pair of matching black trousers and tie to complete the look. Two scars run in opposite vertical directions from his…eye sockets? In any case, there’s a pair of white pinpoints there too. And they seem to be focused on you.
Gaster stops when he’s directly in front of his podium, remaining silent as your superiors continue their speech.
“With the signing of the agreement, we mark the first partnership between the FBI and monsterkind,” Warner says as another Special Agent hands him the agreement. He signs one line before handing it to Asgore, who signs another line. He proceeds to give it to Gaster to sign. You watch as he signs his name with a few elegant flicks of his wrist before sliding the paper to your podium.
On this day:
September 5th, 20XX
An alliance was established between the FBI and King Asgore.
Signed,
Warner Boothe
Asgore Dreemurr
W.D. Gaster
And there, you sign your name, heart racing as you watch the ink form your name. Wow. This…this really is huge. You will yourself not to shake as you set the paper down, turning to Gaster with a determined stare.
Your mind seems to be on autopilot as you slowly raise your arm, offering your hand. He studies your gaze for a moment before smiling smally and encasing your hand in his, firmly shaking it.
That small gesture elicits a cheer and a round of applause from everyone around you. You smile, picking up the paper before handing it to Warner and looking out at the crowd one last time before you’re escorted back inside.
I think this is where I’m meant to be.

Family therapy
“Tell me about your family.”
“They s-s-suck, I hope they all f-f-fucking go directly to Hell, end of story.”
His therapist frowns. Bad answer. Honesty won’t be winning the day here.
“It says here that your brother Philip helped sign the papers admitting you when you had your first stay here. He must care about you.”
He can’t keep the anger from rising to his face. No, fuck him specifically. Bastard.
He clenches his fists to keep from an outburst. Outbursts are bad for getting out. Outbursts come with surprise injections and restraints and waking up in the empty cell on lockdown.
“Yeah?”
Let the therapist do the talking. Less likely to have anything slip he shouldn’t say.
“Seems like you have a lot of pent up frustration about him. Can you tell me why that is?”
Shit. He’s being too obvious.
“No, he’s. He’s just great,” What do they want to hear, what do they want to hear? Something about healing or touchy feely shit, probably. Always a fair bet. “He’s so thoughtful, making sure to get me help for my-my-my…condition.”
Dumped him here. Threw him away like garbage. Worthless garbage, just like Mike always calls him.
He can almost hear Mike if he listens carefully enough. Mike knows the truth, speaking with the Lord’s voice.
“I’m dangerous and evil. He just made sure I wasn’t going to be a danger to-” All that money, down the drain, wasted, just because he can’t figure out how to run a business like a goddamn real member of the Addison family. “To our family.”
Not his family. Never his family again.
“Hmm…” He temples his fingers, putting down his pen. Bad? “So you feel like he was protecting the rest of your family from you. Do you believe you’re a danger to them?”
“I t-t-think it’s best I’m alone now.” And that’s true enough. It might even be the right answer. “I’m not like them. Not now, not before. Never was.”
Pen’s back in his hand, scribbling something down. No way of knowing if that’s a bad thing or not. Guess he’ll find out come meds time.
“Do you miss your siblings?”
Sure, but his aim is getting better. Hah. Fuck ‘em. He doesn’t need anyone.
He lets the silence get comfortable, leaning back in the barely-padded wooden chair and listening to the analog clock tick down until he can get released to lunch.
He’s probably supposed to miss them, but he’s not telling that lie.
“You don’t receive any visitors. It must be lonely.”
It’s lonely because the doctors medicated Mike and Dr. Gaster away, not because he’s not being pity visited by people who don’t care if he’s alive.
He’s not willing to budge on that truth, either. The clock brings him closer towards meatloaf and Jevil’s extra brownie with each tick.
“What about your other family?”
Might as well kill that line of questioning. Maybe he’ll start asking about Mike again. They love asking about Mike. He loves talking about him, too.
“No other family. Just the five of us.”
There had been parents at some point, but they had died when he was a child. His siblings had done all the heavy lifting raising him. He wonders if that’s why he came out so fucked up. Not aloud, though. He’s trying to close this channel of interrogation, not open it for additional debate.
Mentally, he’s already making puppy dog eyes at Jevil’s goodies.
“You’re not being very cooperative today, Spamton.”
That’s the second worst phrase that can come out of a therapist’s mouth. The worst, of course, being “You’re not being very cooperative today, Samantha.”
“Uh- look, they’re n-not coming back for me, no matter how I feel about them. Can we just talk about something else?”
“Hnm. How can you be so sure?”
Phil is screaming at him at the top of his lungs, banging on the door of his office.
“Let me in, you lunatic! You’re going to cost us everything just because you can’t get your shit together!”
Mike is much more convincing. His voice is even, calm, well-polished, clear as day despite the banging happening around them.
“He hates your success. He thinks you’re a fake. He’s going to slit your throat if you open that door.”
He doubles over behind his desk. No one is coming to kill him.
“F-f-fuck off, I’m a goddamn big shot. The goddamn big shot. The greatest salesman who ever f-f-fucking lived.” He’s laughing, or crying, or screaming. He can’t be sure. “I earned this!”
“You think you can just do this and keep getting away with it? It’s not my job to clean up after you! I’m sick of it, and I’m sick of you!”
The clock ticks by. Ten minutes until he’s as free as he’s liable to get in this place.
“I’m s-s-sure. And it’s my fault.”
Lorenzo’s hands are on his hips. The bags under his eyes are as dark as they’ve ever been.
“Phil’s an ass, but he’s right about this one. You’ll be safer in there; it’s for troubled people like you.”
What he only says with his eyes is ‘And not for people like me.’. People who can have their shitty days and still make enough to stay in the green get to live outside, and people who can’t get locked away.
Frieda didn’t even come to see him away. She had a company meeting she couldn’t afford to miss. If the merger didn’t go smoothly, she’d lose so much right at the end of the financial quarter.
“My fault.” he growls through clenched teeth.
The clock strikes eleven. They're gone. All he needs right now is that goddamn brownie.

How's ralsei's home life in Cybershuffle? Berdly's loneliness in canon isn't quite as extreme as Ralsei's, so I hope it's a least a little better in that regard. (Feel free to just use this ask to talk about Kris and Ralsei's relationship in Cybershuffle, I'm also intrigued what would make lightner!Ralsei turn against the party in the Cybershuffle equivalent of chapter 2)
ralsei's parents are well-off/upper middle class at Least like the holliday-kaards, and like... support their son, in their way. admittedly that means a lot of nanny (goats lol) parenting instead of much direct interaction, and a lot of pressure for ralsei to perform to the right standards. that's kind of infected how he treats others - he's still a naturally kind and helpful person, just his idea of "help" involves passing on the pressure to Do Things Right. kris who is already under a lot of pressure to Do Things Right mostly just tunes him out as best they can,
as for why he ends up helping gaster, well, gaster has a clear plan to go forward and is the adult in charge of the cyber world! ralsei has been raised to respect authority and to listen what adults say and he doesn't think gaster seems so unreasonable with his "know and understand everything about the light world" plan. adults know best!

Deltarune Chapter 2, Just finished and here are some thoughts:
Tumblr media
Ralsei isn't a Darkner, but he's not able to exist in the Lightner World.
Darkners are reinterpretations, reimaginings, and dreams of things that exist in the Lightner World. They turn to stone in other Fountains (the concept solidifies and becomes unchanging) or they turn into mundane objects (like cards and junk) because outside of the theme of their own recontextualization they don't exist. The Dark is a form of exegis, a way of recreating the 'game' world.
This raises the question: Why can they exist in Ralsei's fountain? What is his fountain reinterpreting? -- My theory is his fountain is aware of and a recontextualization of the Game "Undertale 2" - so anything within the game, including the reinterpretations it creates, can persist there.
Each fountain, each Chapter is just the same game being retold, replayed again - because the world is still Undertale and is just presenting itself with the same themes, the same structure, and the same 'choices' like Pacifist/Genocide because it is expected to - because it was originally built to before the changes.
Whatever Kris is, whatever is using the fountains is doing so to keep the Lightner world from progressing forward. We the player have a game menu, interactions, choices - all of that in the Lightner world - but the plot in the Lightner world is allowed to progress according to its script only with minimal change. The times we would be interacting with and changing the plot, we're always pulled into the Dark Worlds - to solve a crisis that repeats, always with the same outcomes.
The only one telling us we have to close the fountain, and the only one telling us the world will end if we don't - is Ralsei.
Most of the more powerful characters in the game...like Jevil, Seam, and now Spamton - are aware of their realities being rewritten and of what happened in the time of ROARING that Ralsei promised would happen if the Dark takes over. All of these characters are outliers who couldn't be fully rewritten - whatever process is keeping the world stagnant and reset has failed on them.
Jevil is in an infinite loop, and the Dark has him quarantined.
Seam was torn apart and recompiled.
Spamton seems to be two beings, corrupted as one copied over the other. He's the Spambot from the Lightner world, and the Car Salesman from the Dark - and as a program, as either form, he's aware of his STRINGS - the lines of code that bind him to the Game.
These are things that happen when a program fails to execute, or glitches out.
All of these 'error' characters seem aware of 'Chaos', and of existing before the current iteration of their game loop.
I think Ralsei is still Asriel -- I think he's still the Asriel that was Flowey, actually. I think he or someone inadvertently helping him (like Gaster) - has rewritten the actual Undertale 2 into the world of 'Deltarune' (anagrams as a theme, remixing existing components) - a world where Asriel is away for college and not trapped forever in the Dark. A world where everyone loves and remembers him fondly - waiting for his return at the end of the week for the Festival.
Asriel is supposed to be the older brother, but Ralsei seems to be the same age as Asriel had 'died' in Undertale - the same child we see in the field of flowers. Does an older version of Asriel actually exist? I think Ralsei, or possibly someone else, has created a story where he gets to keep a looping world where his death and Flowey never happened - but maybe he can't return at the end of the 7 days?
De-termination. Undoing Death. Maybe the process here is incomplete or corruptible?
I think whatever is modifying the world - they used the 'Dark' to rewrite the world and reinterpret its components, to Re-Determine what's going to happen. I think every time a Player/SOUL shows up to affect their choices on the world and progress the plot, they sideline them with the worlds created in the Dark as a sort of treadmill, to keep them from playing the game that originally existed in the Lightner World and actually 'completing' the 7 day story.
We're told repeatedly by the metastructure of the game, and by presumably GASTER at the Survey_Program opening - that choices don't matter in this world. Every time we are given one, it's either discarded immediately, or affects nothing permanent in the Light World - only the Dark.
I think this is our antagonist, convincing us that the SOUL can't have an affect on the outcome because they don't want it to - they want this reality to continue, for the Dark to consume the world at the end, and for their reality to rewrite itself again so as to draw energy from it, from all the SOULS that run through the program/universe when they play the game again.
I presume it may be Gaster (or whoever narrated the Survey Program, but we're pretty sure that's Gaster, right?) as the 'behind the curtain villain' - I think Ralsei/Asriel may be playing into this loop or helping them, not realizing what's really happening or now unwilling to stop it after the first rewrite - because they don't want to be alone in the dark anymore like they were at the end of Undertale. I think Ralsei is sincere in his desire to close the other fountains, but I think he's unaware that the force creating them wants the ROARING to happen.
I think Kris, once it was determined he was the Vessel, was modified in the 'bunker' to be pliable, to be able to remove the SOUL. It's either the character of Kris (who, if you act out of character or pick dialogues that are kind, is called out by other characters for being different after the player takes over) - or whatever is controlling that vessel other than the Player/SOUL, that is creating the Dark Fountains and sidelining the progression and keeping the SOUL from modifying anything in the Lightner world. I think this process traumatized the real Kris, the character he was before we step in - because it seems clear from other characters he is terrified of that bunker.
A bunker which is a mystery to every character in the town so far.
By his character, I believe there is a second SOUL inside Kris, or something very similar (possibly an artificial version of a SOUL) that is the source of the Roaring Knight. It may also be that he was rewritten to be 'controlled' in this way - hence the underlying personality being so quiet, reclusive, and traumatized/repressed.
My guess is the titles here, like Knight, and Roaring, are phonetic plays on what is actually happening. Kris is the Knight, or the Night - periods of time when the SOUL can be sidelined and whatever our antagonist is can affect change and create the fountains. I think the Roaring is the Rearranging or Reordering, maybe? I'm not as certain on that one.
What Ralsei describes as the Roaring is an opening of too many fountains - the light world enveloped in total Darkness (full reinterpretation or system collapse) - and the emerging of TITANS from these fountains that devastate the world, shaped by their own fountains - leaving the Lightners alone in darkness and solidifying the darkners. I think the ROARING is a form of program crash, or total rewrite.
I think Ralsei may be disingenuous here - he doesn't want too many fountains to open - but he will never close his own. I think he is aware of what was before Deltarune, since he knows about the ROARING - and is trying this time to keep his favorable world going maybe?
It's hard to tell if he's working with or against the Roaring Knight (or their controller) - I think he wants to keep his world of friends and heroism, his Role-Reinterpretation from Undertale 2. I think he sincerely wants to close the other fountains, because the result he describes is what he had originally as Asriel, and Asriel could not have a role in Undertale 2 without this rewrite - as Asriel Dreemur he would've been Lost eternally in an endless night...
I love this interpretation because it plays into the nature of Dreamer/Dreemur (the Dark is the dream of the world that could be, and he is it's Prince), the nature of sequels in general (what we want and expect as an audience vs what would be organic to the characters), and a sort of meta-text about what an artist can do with a sequel (you can reinterpret, but not by much, never in a way that is unrecognizable and thus enchained to the original).
Undertale was a game with characters aware they were in a game.
Deltarune is a game so far where it seems characters are aware they are in a sequel.
Phenomenal, Mr. Fox!

This is a bit rambling but I had a lot I wanted to write down and it's super late. I might revise this later.

Candles (for the writing meme)
Good Knight
Word count: 791
Characters: Rouxls, Knight!Gaster
Genre: Romance
Read here on AO3!
By silent candlelight the Rules Card wrote, dipping his quill in royal blue ink. Mountains of paperwork to look over, all dumped unto him by the terror of His Majesty. How long had it been since he'd put Lancer down to sleep? He didn't know. Hours ago probably. Hardly important now, he figured, with so many deadlines to meet.
Another paper in the finished pile, another paper plucked from the work yet to be finished.
Ugh. Another new puzzle architecture plan to look over. Rouxls swore he could feel his brain oozing out of his ears from the sheer monotony of it all. Allowing himself an annoyed groan, the Duke rubbed at his eyes which were drowning in sleep, hoping to massage them to life renewed. A deafening clank soon arose from outside Rouxls's quarters, however, waking the Duke up far faster than even the strongest espresso coffee.
The clanking only continued. It almost sounded like armor.
Roused from his chair, Rouxls took the white candle by the silver handle of the home it made in the extravagant candleholder befitting the rest of the royal's decor and crossed the floor quickly to make it to his door. He knew what the night patrol sounded like as countless nights up working made him very familiar to jingling footsteps ambling in the dark but this... This certainly was not any one of them. With a quiet creak, Rouxls opened the door to peek through the widening sliver, hoping to see whatever fiend may have lain past it.
There was a heavily armored figure there, in the dark, just beyond his candle's light. Rouxls's eyes widened, unfamiliar with this knight hidden in shadow. Had the Spade King somehow forgotten to clue him in on this strange Sir? Or did the King think such information beneath the Duke's station...
Rouxls was inspired to investigate regardless.
"HALT!" Rouxls called after the figure, soon stepping out of the safety of his room and holding his candle before him to light the space betwixt the two.
There was a man there. Tall and lanky, Rouxls could tell, even in shining platinum armor that broadened the silhoutte. And the man looked back at him from behind the shade of his helmet's visor. A pinprick of white in darkness.
Rouxls felt like he was sweating under the other man's odd gaze.
"Wh-who art thee? What be thine business h're?" Rouxls pressed on, despite his voice's faltering.
"I AM- YOUR KING'S KNIGHT," a surprisingly mechanical voice greeted Rouxls's query. Something akin to that one program that Rouxls vaguely remembered read text aloud. The Knight stepped toward the royal, causing Rouxls to jump just slightly. "CARRYING OUT ROYAL DUTIES. MAY I ASK WHAT YOU ARE DOING UP SO LATE YOURSELF, DUKE?"
"I-I, er- Uh... I'ms't carryinge out royal duties mineself?" Rouxls sputtered. How did this Knight know him already? Did his reputation as the new Duke of Puzzles really exceed him so much? "Lookingeth over puzzle plans and approvings't budgets and such..."
A strange silence hung over the air.
"I REMEMBER A TIME WHEN I HAD SIMILAR DUTIES. THAT TIME IS... GONE NOW. REGARDLESS OF THAT, IT IS VERY LATE. I SINCERELY HOPE THAT YOU ARE NOT OVERWORKING YOURSELF."
"'Tis... difficult not to, Sir Knight," Rouxls offered with a hesitant and awkward smile. "So many deadlines to meeteth..."
"AND SO LITTLE LIFE YET TO LIVE. IT IS BEST TO ENJOY YOUR TIME ON THIS MORTAL COIL, DUKE."
Ruminating on this thought, Rouxls looked at the man with a raised brow.
"...A fan of the great classics thyself, art thou, Sir Knight?"
"PERHAPS."
Rouxls felt like he was hearing things, but that robotic voice almost sounded to have a smile in it. Was it strange for Rouxls to be smiling wider because of it, he questioned himself.
"I MUST LEAVE NOW," The Knight began as he closed that space between he and Rouxls. "DO TRY TO NOT OVEREXERT YOURSELF, THY GRACE."
And with that, a gauntlet shining white slid forth from the dark to pinch the candle's wick and leave Rouxls alone there in the sudden dark. So many emotions roiled within the Kaard as he wandered back to his room over the interaction with that strange Knight, it was safe to say he knew he wouldn't be sleeping for another good few hours.
Still, he skipped past the awaiting paperwork upon his desk and made himself ready for bed regardless of the feelings that arose from the oddly... nice encounter. Perhaps the Knight's advice was useful, Rouxls thought to himself as he clambered his worldweary bones into bed. Platinum hair met silken pillow and in but a few moments the world was covered in darkness. A darkness that felt just a hint less lonely.
