EDIT: So I totally forgot about the line where Vox is like "And hey, you still have him under contract" Sooo this entire idea is false. But the idea of Vox saying Angel quit is still an interesting one, since it implies there is a possibility sinners can "quit" in some way from a contract

So two things real quick: I know I've been talking about Hazbin a lot, but tbh If I were to do anything with that fandom it would be with my OC's/NG's, I'm still not crazy over the main cast (besides the potential dynamic between Vox and Angel, and Fizz x Ozzie from Helluva Boss, the characters don't grab me as much as characters in other fandoms do)

And second thing is I do wanna bring up an interesting point I don't think anyone else has mentioned yet

Vox specifically says "Oh Angel quit?". Obviously this happens in ep 2, but by ep 4 we know Valentino has Angel under contract, Valentino even says "I own you (Angel)". While we don't know a great deal of lore about how contracts work in Hell, I think it's a given to assume they're a big deal. More so, they're not something you can just "quit" and move on from

I just find it really interesting how Vox asks if Angel "quit" rather than saying something like "Oh you fired him?" to Val.

Is Vox even aware that Valentino has Angel under contract?? His brighter mood when he asks if Angel "quit" could be because, for all he knows, Angel is somebody who causes Val to loose his cool, somebody Val chooses to keep around, which causes problems that he ultimately has to sort out. Indirectly, Angel causes problems for Vox (I assume the reason Vox pulls out his phone while Valentino is ranting is because it's likely he's done this song and dance a hundred dozen times and doesn't take it all that seriously anymore).

And if Vox doesn't know about Angel's contract, he's left to believe that Angel is causing problems on purpose. It's probably likely Vox knows Angel is important to Val because of the money he makes him, but he also probably knows that Valentino is a literal tyrant and employs dozens of people who, all together, make him a lot of money

I think the idea of Vox perhaps not being aware of Angel's contract is further supported when he turns to Val later in the episode, when the V's are discussing about having somebody infiltrate the hotel, and asks "Do you think Angel would do it?". He phrases the question casually, like there's a chance Angel could say no, phrasing it a way that makes Angel the one who decides

Alternatively, he could have said "Can you (Valentino) get Angel to do it?" or "Can't you (Valentino) make Angel do it?"

It's very possible that this is just me thinking too deeply into stuff. While I do want this show to do good for the animation world overall, praying it'll draw more attention to other Indie Animated projects (cuz god knows Disney isn't pushing out good movies like it used to-) the writing in some episodes - looking at episode 3 and parts of episode 1 - isn't brilliant. Plus with how some of the writing is in Helluva Boss also I don't have a lot of hope that THIS much thought went into the script for the show.

It's very likely that Vox isn't written this deeply, but if it turns out I'm right and some of what I've discussed does end up being true though trust me I have my doubts, I'll be surprised

I decided to watch helluva boss and imma do 2 separate posts for seasons 1 and two (why did I write it like that…?)

Season one

God I love this show. The writing is way more my speed than Hazbin hotel on Amazon, I enjoyed the writing in the pilot, but once Amazon took over the humor just didn’t really land for me, and tbh the plot took over and I started focusing more on that, and in general I’m more partial to the rapid fire YouTube dry comedy and this sentence is a friggin mess- I found HB SO FREAKIN FUNNY

Dude when he goes “FUCK, a new hole” I lost it

“Just try and sue us”

“We’re rich and we’re hot”

“I can just buy all the things!”

“You should commit die”

“Hehe, Trumpet!”

These are just my kinda lines, I don’t know how to explain it, I was wheezing all throughout the season

The music OH LORD when I say I’ve listened to stolas’s lullabye, lulu land, cotton candy, and house of ozmodius like 100000 times I’m… exaggerating but like you get the point the music here is friggin fantastic I also really like how a lot of the music is diegetic, I think that’s a fun touch. I don’t remember whether this is the case in Hazbin, but in this one it was like… I don’t know, it made sense that they were singing when they were singing… am I articulating myself well? I don’t care, iykyk if not, no prob

The animation is great, Viv loves them spinny shots and I am here for it. The amount of genuinely amazing action scenes is super impressive, and even the chill scenes have a ton of personality

The voice acting might be what steals the show for me, idrk anyone’s names cept Alex Brightman but BLITZS VA NEEDS AN AWARD, also slight tangent but I don’t know what it is with stolas’s va but he sounds a lot like a bird in the same sense that Gary Oldman sounded a lot like a bird in Kung Fu Panda 2, what is it that casting directors recognize in actors that screams bird?! Because both of these men are just SO BIRD DOES ANYONE GET WHAT I MEAN moving on, Ozzie’s voice was also effing PERFECT it slid silkily over me like… silk butter or smtg it was the perfect lust voice, I loved it. Everyone else was also great, but they were extra great.

It was also just so fun? Like in hazbin there’s very little just… shenanigans to enjoy, nothing wrong with that because it’s not that type of show, whereas this season is jam packed with them. Like I’ve heard that everyone hated episode 4, but like I don’t know I loved it😆 I just found it to be good old fashioned chicanery, and I liked the chaos and stupidity of it, made for some entertaining TV. This story engine is just mad entertaining for me.

I also enjoyed the writing of most of the characters (Millie, Moxxie, Loona, and Octavia still leave a bit to be desired imo, but whatever, they can’t all be winners and there’s nothing wrong with them) Blitz kinda reminds me of a Barney Stinson type character, which I really enjoy, and I also really like how his boss persona kinda infects everything he does while simultaneously being what’s screwing him over, his nature is kinda like a snake swallowing its own tail, which is tragic and beautiful, and Stolas compliments him well by being, not an enabler, but… I don’t know a clever way to say this… Stolas is a wreck in the best way and he just works. He’s short sighted, like extremely so, like how he thinks sleeping with Blitz will fill his emotional void so he does it but it just drives them further apart so it’s like he’s in a hole and in order to get out he’s gonna dig to pile up dirt so he can climb out but he’s an idiot and that’s a stupid idea and I loved his whole arc. Very enjoyable stuff drama.

Kinda random but whoever Viv’s foli artist is also deserves an award, the sound effects in this show are pristine and it’s incredible (yes I’ve seen the scene where the gun sounds go off a few seconds too late, and yeah, mistakes happen, but every bone crunch sounds and other stuff like that being so enunciated in an indie show is extremely impressive)

Anyhoo, very fun, very emotional, nice to look at, very funny, yada yada- altogether great season 1.

GUYS I'VE OFFICIALLY LOST IT-

So. Awhile ago, I saw this post, right? Basically it just said that Sera and Sir Pentious' cards have very similar compositions, and that Seraphim, which is what Sera is, are often associated with serpents. Interesting, but could still be a coincidence, right?

So anyways I checked the reblogs and saw somebody say they should kiss. And now I'm insane.

Because like... the only thing we know really about Sir Pentious' potential story arc in the show is that he's gonna have a crush on one of the other characters. And the only thing confirmed about his sexuality(to my knowledge) is that he is attracted to women. We don't really have any way to know who his crush is, because there are a lot of women in Hazbin Hotel, but could still be noteworthy, right? And like... okay this is gonna sound like the most "trust me, bro" evidence I could possibly pull out of my ass at first but I just need you to hear me out here, okay? Sera's crown and Sir Pentious' hat have a lot of visual similarities. Here's a helpful diagram :)

Which like. Okay. Could literally be nothing, right? Except for two small things that I can't let go of: One, Sir Pentious' goggles + the v-shaped brim on his hat were added to his design AFTER he was given a more prominent role in the show-

(Pilot design, back when he was meant to be a one-off villain of the week vs current design as a member of the main cast)

And two, the Hellaverse shows kind of have a tendancy to use visuals in order to signify characters' relationships to eachother. It's also just a pretty popular form of symbolism as a whole tbh, but the Hellaverse has a lot of really good examples. Like, for instance, how Vaggie's new outfit is a lot closer to Charlie's color pallette than any of her previous designs, or this really good breakdown by @/raeynbowboi about the symbolism of hearts in Hazbin Hotel and how they pertain to Angel Dust/his relationships! It's from awhile ago so some of the info is a tad outdated, but overall I do think the analysis holds up. Meanwhile, in Helluva Boss, Moxxie and Millie have basically the same color pallette and they were the most functional relationship in the entire show before before Fizzmodeus came along. Which, speaking of those two...

See, I made this diagram because, after I pointed out the similarities between Sera and Sir Pentious' headgear to my dad and asked him if those kinds of similarities were a valid form of analysis(because I am but a humble highschooler that doesn't know everything about media analysis, and also I felt like I was losing my mind-), my dad said that I should look at the creator's(Vivziepop's) other works to see if couples having similar motifs was a recurring theme. So obviously, I picked my favorite couple in either show and disected their designs for every little detail that could maybe possibly be an intentional parallel. And while some of it is kind of iffy, like Fizz's limbs being the same kind of blue as Ozzie's tufts could just be a way to show that Ozzie made them, or both of them having uh, two things sticking off of their head(that one's definitely a reach-), I think stuff like both of them having hearts as a recurring detail in their designs or having lITERALLY THE SAME EYE COLOR??? Are pretty good evidence that Viv/the Hellaverse design team tend to use visuals to signify characters relationships.

ALSO!!!! If the Fallen Angel Vaggie theory ends up being true, there could be some interesting parallels to draw between Chaggie and Sera/Sir Pentious! Something about like... demon royalty/random angel vs angel royalty/random demon. Could be used to draw parallels between how the two societies treat that kind of thing idk.

So, now that all the meta evidence is out of the way, we can get down to what really matters: would these two work as a couple? Do their personalities mesh well togther? And the answer to that is!

But in all seriousness, I don't actually know. We just... haven't seen enough of Sera to know for sure. In fact, this whole theory is based off of small details that definitely add up to SOMETHING, but could very well be pieces to some very different puzzles that I'm trying to shove together because somebody jokingly suggested that they would fit. Like, the parallels really COULD mean something, and it COULD have something to do with Sir Pentious having a crush on another character, but like. There could also be a million other answers to both of those questions, y'know? I also have a tendancy to make wild conspiracy theories about genuinely inconsequential details... I almost never talk about them publically, but still. Though I will say, based off of Sera's description in the leaks, I could definitely see a world where she bounces off of Sir Pentious pretty well. Her description in the leaks very much gave me uh... Isabela cover of Surface Pressure vibes, y'know? Shit that is- that is a weird way to describe that but most people on here have seen Encanto right? Y'all get it? And Sir Pentious is both a Victorian Gentleman Type and completely unhinged. Like... idk there's something there. I could maybe see it working. But at the end of the day, it's just too early to tell.

That being said I WILL be trying to pump out some fanart of these two before the actual show comes out and crushes my crackshipping dreams. Also their ship name is either SeraPentious or PentSera I can't decide.

lol at your tags, I've been enjoying hazbin -- and helluva boss for that matter -- too, i don't think their reputations as edgelord are that warranted (not saying you're saying that, it's just a reason I don't post about it because it seems to have A ReputationTM so I'm just enjoying it without the drama). ive seen more swearing, more sexual content, and more casual violence in other adult cartoons. one of the main reasons I enjoy them actually is I think a lot of the heart and soul of these two shows is very obviously signposted, and not hidden under miles of cynicism, but I feel like a lot of people think the narrative is edgier than it is? + alex brightman appearing in THREE roles. keith david. stephanie beatriz. it's not for edgy audiences, it's for gay theatre kids who liked gravity falls back in the day is what it is

Thoughts on various Hazbin Hotel characters under the read more

Charlie - She's very cute, naive, and uber optimistic. Genuinely I'd call her a sweet little cinnamon roll. Though, that being said, so far she's felt like a pretty one dimensional character in the four episodes we've seen her. I really do hope she gets a little more characterization as the show goes on and that she doesn't end up with the same issue Millie from the sister Helluva Boss show has.

Vaggie - I really like her new design tbh! Characterization wise though I really wish we knew? Literally anything about her? The most we get is a hint that okay she died in 2014, she's Charlies gf, and has been involved in war / battles thanks to the classic group bonding episode. The only real interesting thing she might have going for her is? That she could POTENTIALLY be some fallen angel / ex exterminator, as per old hazbin headcanons claim, or that she might be one of Carmilla's daughters. Again I'm hoping she ends up getting more characterization soon and doesn't end up another Millie. Also why the hell does Husk and Angel Dust have more chemistry after episode 4 than Vaggie and her already established gf do? I'm??

Angel Dust - An interesting character for sure, and I'm very curious to see how his story plays out. Could do without him making everything sexual 24/7 but given the situation the character is in and how he tries to cope with it, it's whatever.

Alastor - Idk I actually don't really have a whole lot to say about him? Sure he's interesting, I want to know his motivations as to why an overlord like him is helping Charlie and why both he and Lilith were gone for 7 years but??? Idk I'm sort of indifferent to him at the current moment? He's kind of just the one note silly wacky chaos character with mysterious motives. I do really like his voice though!

Nifty - I thought I'd like her more than I do but? Honestly I don't really care for her at the moment. She's the typical yandere character but, again like most of the female characters in the Hellaverse, is kinda one note and ultimately forgettable. Nor do we know anything about her (yet).

Husk - Gonna be honest, this grumpy kitty had my heart from the pilot. He's def one of my favorite characters in the show, and personally I think his backstory of being, for lack of better terms, a fallen overlord is really interesting. For having been a gambling con man magician in his human life, I do have to wonder why he was chosen to be a cat rather than a rabbit? or perhaps a snake? Though I suppose the magician aspect of what originally went into his character had since been dropped, since they seem to have leaned more into him being just a gambler. His budding relationship with Angel Dust, whether be it as friends or eventual lovers, is very cute and very genuine tbh. Still questioning why they have more chemistry than Vaggie and Charlie but here we are. I also really adore his singing voice ough it's very smooth and very pleasant to listen to.

Velvette - oh lord I do NOT like this character, but then again, I don't really like any character that has the typical Bitchy Influencer tm type personality... Or any of those irl influencer type folks in general. Though I do want to know why? she was made english? I mean I understand a good portion of it is probably so that the three V's are unique in some way with Vox being the american one and Valentino the latino. Making her english certainly gives her that distinction from the other two, I suppose I'm just surprised they didn't go with the California valley girl type accent for her.

Valentino - vile, sleezy, disgusting, I love him. He's absolutely everything a villain like him should be. I'm personally super glad that his big red coat isn't? actually JUST a coat tbh? I think it's a super neat idea that it's actually his wings folded over his body and held together with either some sort of clamps (like the decorative enamel pins you'd find connecting both sides of the lapel on a leather jacket) or some kind of piercing.

Vox - oh no why is he my type.

sorry to drama dump here, but it's kinda relevant to the stuff talked about? So Hbomb made a new video about cases of plagiarism and what surprised me was that the majority of it wasn't about Illuminaughtii as the initial patreon buzz suggested, but James Somerton. If you haven't heard of Somerton, he makes (made?) videos about queer content on YT. Some of it was better than others (his Helluva Boss video was so bad I never rewatched it) but I liked some of his stuff for helping me understand LGBT history and media better.

turns out he's a massive plagiarist, liar and was looking like he was implicating his co-writer who may or may not have known about this in order to preserve his own image. tbh I feel so dumb for having watched him for so long and not picked up on it - looking back it seems so obvious that the stuff I liked in his vids likely all came from various other books & articles and the judgemental, catty bits were very likely his own invention. what's worse is he complained about a lack of support before to the extent it threatened the continuation of the channel - either losing patrons or Youtube hiding his stuff due to its LGBT content and I believed him because it sounded plausible. but now I just don't know. I feel awful knowing how close I got to becoming his patreon a couple of times because I wanted to support what he was doing and I gave him the benefit of the doubt when I'd heard passing references to plagiarism before, assuming it was a small mistake anyone could make like forgetting to add a source - and not just reading huge passages nearly unchanged for minutes on end!

It just struck me watching Hbomb talk that Viv and James are kinda alike - they prop themselves up like pillars of the LBGT community for the services/art they provide while actively minimizing and ignoring other people working in the field or who came before them, then they make up shit when people call them out and just lie on the people taking them to task as harrassers & etc. I would hope someday there's an article or video that lays out the timeline of everyone Viv has hurt the way Hbomb does with JS here, but I think between Hazbin dropping and probably not getting critical acclaim and NDAs expiring next year, plus all the actually talented writers leaving or pulling away from her projects, it won't be the sharp decline suffered by Illuminaughtii or JS but a slow attrition into only her most dedicated fans still supporting her (assuming she doesn't get into yet more Twitter drama that derails whatever good will remains)

I was wondering why everyone was crossing their fingers for Hbomb to make a video about Vivzie.

(Flame Emoji) Worst Fandoms to write in and why? Worst characters and why?

//Hoo, I would not click the readmore for fandoms further below if you don't wanna hear my takes. A lot of graphic content warnings. Remember, blacklist 'spicy goopy' as I'm not gonna tag everything as I will be talking about pedophilia/r*pe and other really graphic things.

Worst Characters: Stella from Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss: you could replace her with a cardboard cutout for an abusive wife and you couldn't tell the difference. She's incredibly one-dimensional so far and is just a plot device for Stolas at this point. A shame bc she has a banger aesthetic and possible personality, she's an unfinished character, however, so my opinion may change overtime, but I'm honestly not impressed with her direction. The Designs of the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss Characters: a good portion of them look like sticks or their limbs, make them thicker. I just feel like... this is worth mentioning as I really do dislike the paper-thin style at times, as there is some 'thicker' designed characters but to me they just look normal otherwise than just paperthin which is a shame. As the characters do have good design concepts but are just so bad looking lol. Lapis Lazuli: Oddly enough, I did rp this character as well, but I just disliked how weird the fandom was with her at times or the writer for Peridot and Lapis Lazuli clung onto them and fueled the fire (Not Sugar, it was... someone else p controversial at the time but I forget who). I've considered taking her back up at times tbh, but eh, fandom dead and I don't think anyone would be interested at this time. Elder Maxson: Literally the worst character in the Fallout series that Bethesda ever conceived before Obsidian/Black Island Studios lost control. It is everything that is awful in another villain that Obsidian wrote and it was on purpose in contrast, as Elder Maxson was not intentionally a villain and that's what makes it so much worse, as he's so much dumber than his Counter Part Elijah who was just so good as a villain. So even if Maxson was meant to be a villain, he just feels like a copy of Elijah and... for some reason was portrayed as a hero. Ayano Aishi and her Mother: Written by a man who does not know how to write mental illness even if fictional and created a fandom that made them think they know what mental illness is/demonize or sexualize people with ASPD or ASPD-like qualities. David from Camp Camp: He was funny but often written in the way of being stupid enough for certain things to push a narrative or plot along, then smart at other times. Just inconsistent as a character but had a good concept. Daniel from Camp Camp: One-Off idiot that had a lot of potential squandered to put it bluntly. Alistar from Dragon Age: I think his emotionally charged actions make him such a wimp that after everything you go through together? As yes, you can keep him if you spare Loghain or w/e his name is, he gets pissy and leaves even when your teacher Duncan probably would've converted Loghain as a political move. I actually like him at first, but it kind of came out of left field for me that I couldn't convince him/explain my reasoning to spare Loghain. Garterbelt from Panty and Stocking: Weird dynamic, was a pedo and subtly... hrm, possibly racist at times with how he was portrayed? I wasn't too sure. I really hope he's different for the apparent s2 that's coming.

Worst Fandoms: Southpark: Edgy af, drama galore. Rick and Morty Pre-Smut Tumblr Ban: Yeah, the things I saw with people shipping Rick x Morty made me blacklist that tag and the most of the people with it altogether for how many pedos it had. Camp Camp: Also suffered the same problems as above for Rick and Morty but not as bad though also was a breeding ground of really toxic behavior. Warhammer 40k (Not Fantasy): These guys are literally 4ch*n neckbeards half the time, but they're a dying breed thankfully. Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss: I'd say it's probably where a lot of pedos, rape apologists and toxicity is rn in the RPC. Thankfully, anything pedophilic is mostly confined to discord servers I've noticed, but it does exist on here... at times. Dark Souls/Souls-Like Games: I've had some good experiences but a lot of the RPC in it aren't the type of peeps I'd hang around usually, v elitist. Some are cool tho. League of Legends: YEAH I WROTE IN THIS FANDOM, but god. One of the worst but also first experiences I had for rping. I was... an edgelord (granted I mucked it up even then as a joke) but people loved me and fed my ego in it for a good while which it really was bad for me as I was considered 'THE CHARACTER' rper of that time period which was really bad to fall into that mindset, granted I was 18 compared to being 29 at the time. It was probably my most successful blog right next to this one where I sat at around 1.2k followers before I finally moved in. I grew a lot from League and I no longer play it or write for it anymore... but I've considered maybe a few characters from it. I just have a lot of GOOD and BAD memories with it.

I can't write a comment in tumblr for some reason but I wanted to say that I loved your post about Stella and his brother and "it's all about Stolas". I'm a big stella fan and I'm so tired of her being so 2D dimensional and so unappreciated :/... The bias is real and I bet there will be so many fan arts of him to the point of being more than Stella.... I am so done. I love her so much but her character is just "Stolas' wife" ergh... Why waste her beautiful character design??

Helluva Boss fr has a problem with pushing its female characters to the wayside so the men get all the attention and character development. You could outright remove Loona from the show and it would barely change and Millie's entire character is basically "Moxxie's wife". I love Millie but she barely ever gets to do anything that doesn't revolve around protecting Moxxie - even the episode where we meet Millie's family focuses more on Moxxie, Striker and Blitzo than Millie. I know Vivzie came up with Blitzo and Moxxie first and they were originally meant to be in Hazbin Hotel, so it makes sense they get the initial focus, but it's not a good enough reason to give Millie no identity outside of being Moxxie's wife or Loona just being Blitzo's adopted daughter.

And you also have Octavia, Stella and Verosika, who are also all solely identified with their relationship with a man. Octavia doesn't seem close to Stella at all and admits to Stolas her worst fear is her dad abandoning her for Blitzo, yet she's conveniently written out of "Ozzie's" because it's Stella's turn with Octavia, even though we never see mother and daughter interacting or know if Octavia realises that Stolas is the reason Stella has been so angry. Stella is painted as nothing but Stolas' vengeful wife and she's consistently depicted negatively even though...you know, Stolas has been cheating on her for whoever knows how long, but everybody goes out of their way to pile sympathy onto Stolas while demonising Stella, even before Stella is revealed to have hired Striker. (And tbh I still can see why she'd do that since Stolas is still seeing Blitzo even after she find out and the family seem to now be something of a laughingstock in Hell because Stolas cheated on Stella with an imp. Yes, it's classist and extreme, but it's not like Stella is the only person in Hell who considers imps to be a lower class - even Stolas seems to partly think that since he hid his face when Asmodeus recognised him at the restaurant and Blitzo was clearly hurt by that. Even Striker points out this discrepancy and comments that Stolas treats Blitzo like a plaything and Stolas word-for-word calls Blitzo that in "Truthseekers".) And Verosika is also defined by being Blitzo's bitter ex girlfriend and Blitzo spends the entirety of her debut calling her a "slut", "whore," etc, even though the show make it clear he was a shitty boyfriend and hurt Verosika quite badly when they were together. It seems like Blitzo is the one who's bitter that Verosika is a famous pop star now, but she's still mostly known as "Blitzo's ex." I'm hoping Season 2 does more to rectify these issues and I feel like the female characters all do have potential (except for Loona, I really don't like her), but they are clearly of secondary importance compared to Blitzo, Moxxie or Stolas, which is pretty unfortunate.

I think part of why most people I've talked to like Hazbin Hotel better then Helluva Boss, and why most of the writing problems in Helluva aren't as present in Hazbin, are because Hazbin is an ensemble show that treats all it's characters as EQUALLY IMPORTANT, while Helluva Boss is an ensemble show that just. Really wants to be the Blitzø and Stolas show.

Like oh my god that show wants to be about only Blitzø and Stolas so bad. It's why Moxxie gets more focus then Millie(he's closer to Blitzø), it's why the Stolitz drama gets dragged out the way it does, it's why Fizz has been getting more attention then the rest of the supposed main cast lately. Viv and Brandon(who doesn't get brought up very often when discussing the writing in Helluva Boss despite being the main cowriter?) CLEARLY just wanna focus on Blitzø and Stolas' backstories and relationship, despite marketing Helluva as an ensemble show. Moxxie gets some time as an individual, but I think that's more of a biproduct of him being around for longer then the other side characters tbh. Like they were initially concieved FOR Hazbin, and I'm not really sure where production went from there, but I believe they were originally just supposed to be an assassin duo that showed up in Hazbin a couple times? Idk details are fuzzy so if anybody knows more and feels like sharing feel free to rb/comment with your knowledge. Anyways Moxxie has more depth because he's been in development for longer, and as season 2 progresses it really feels like they're running out of shit to talk about with him. Everybody else is secondary to those two, which would be FINE if the show was PRESENTED as being about Stolitz, but it's kinda. Not. The show, especially if your going off of the pilot, is presented more like "the Office but in Hell". That is the concept most people are drawn in by. So when the people who signed up for a funny ensemble show in Hell start watching and end up with just a bunch of relationship drama and some occasional focus on like 1 or 2 other characters, they get confused and put off. It's like trying to watch the Office but getting Bojack Horseman(I think. I don't know much abt BJH-) instead.

Meanwhile Hazbin is advertised as an ensemble show and, so far, has fulfilled that promise. All 4 of the episodes we've gotten so far have focused on different characters and, between them, given an equal amount of focus to everyone except maybe Niffty. Episode 1 had Charlie and Vaggie leading the subplots, episode 2 had weirdly Vox and Sir Pentious as the focuses?, episode 3 was about. Pretty much everyone really but Velvette, Carmilla and Vaggie got especially highlighted because of their songs, and episode 4 was focused entirely on Angel and his relationships with the rest of the cast. Like. That's how ensemble shows are supposed to work. And while Charlie is still the main focus of the show, and I'm sure we'll see her get highlighted a whole lot more in coming episodes, Hazbin is still at it's core about EVERYBODY. Even characters that aren't even close to mains are getting attention! And aside from some uh. Very obvious pacing issues, the show handles the ensemble cast surprisingly well! And like, I think the main complaint I've seen(that isn't a straight up controversy) is that the Hotel isn't the main focus of the show? Which like. To be fair we're only like four episodes in? And also fits into my false advertising argument about Helluva but honestly this post is getting long and my brain is kinda melting and it's almost 2am and I have school tomorrow so I'm gonna cut this off here.

In conclusion Hazbin Hotel is generally more well liked than Helluva Boss because it's a true ensemble show, while Helluva is actually the Blitzø show PRETENDING to be an ensemble show. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk :)

also to grow you need to accept not everyone will like or love you. angel irl and in fiction seems mostly adored whether its shallow or not. making a character that dislikes him be his lover is a shit cop out and bad writing just like helluva. we get it, he hates rejection. dont we all. but no one grows without it. hell angel wold benefit from a guy telling him no and sticking to that for him to just accept.

because media shows that fandoms and celebs are now littered full of spoilt folks getting their own ways, seeing any critique or disinterest as 'hate' and being the most entitled buncha twats going. not everyones going to love you or care and that doesnt mean theyre a hater. if viv actually wants a likeable character with flaws to grow, she'd actually show angel's bad as not just him being a fucking victim as its just a mix of victim blaming and entitlement to get what he wants for being a victim when life aint fair. show him with traits more widely despicable thatll shock fans. actually show him accepting people not liking him and being ok rather than forcing himself on them until they do. fucking disgusting. though everyone thinks thats cute. bloody weird-

IMPORTANT PSA FOLLOWERS PLEASE READ

Hiya everyone, Feli here! So this is a really important PSA that I really need you all to read. I’ve rewritten and reworded this like a million times over the last few months so oof I hope this goes over well but here we go-

So this blog is a side blog that is mostly for Hetalia and where the main fandom I interact with in this blog is Hetalia it’s not the only one, and that’s gonna be an important factor. You see, about a year ago I made this side blog because I got back into Hetalia and wanted to post about it online. However, I knew of the discourse and I knew of the drama and I just didn’t want to be apart of it. I also knew that Hetalia made a lot of people uncomfortable (for valid reasons of course) and I decided I didn’t want that on my main blog. Ultimately it is not my job to be concerned with other people’s internet experience (things like blocking tags and following certain blogs is all up to the individual) but I do like to at least do what I can to make it easier on everyone and myself. So I made this one. However this blog was never really meant to be just Hetalia. Mainly Hetalia, yes, but not just Hetalia. If you remember I have actually posted stuff like South Park on this blog and an anime called Rosario + Vampire (SP needing no introduction but R+V is an anime where there’s no discourse mainly because there’s no fanbase it’s still a,,,, not very good show,,,,,) but of course neither of these ever stuck around long enough in my brain to make much of an impact on this blog so I never addressed it. (South Park might continue to pop up here and there it’s a very old hyperfixation and though I dislike the show these days I still like the characters and just have momentary brain rot ig.) Ultimately this was always meant to be what I call my ‘Discourse Blog’. A blog where I could quietly like content I know has major issues with it and is not well liked while both making sure others on my main blog don’t have to see it unless they want to and keeping any discourse off my main blog all together. (Still not sure if I wanna keep Homestuck stuff on this blog or my main tbh.) The reason I’m bringing this up is because lately I’ve been getting into some stuff that might start being on this blog a bit more often and I wanted to acknowledge it before just randomly doing it that way everyone is prepared and not confused. Please know this blog is still MOSTLY going to be Hetalia so you don’t have to worry about that. I’m still a nasty little Italy kinnie who only thinks about Germany’s hot man tits a good 85% of the day(/hj). 

One of the things that might start popping up a bit more is Danganronpa. I’ll be real honest I don’t know why Tumblr’s purity police has such a vendetta against this game there is WAY worse anime out there that I rarely ever see people bitch about. But I started playing it and I like it (wish Kokichi was in the first game but apparently he’s not). I can see some of the issues people might have with it which is understandable so yeah if you wanna keep Danganronpa off your dash just block the tag. 

The other thing (and arguably the one that makes me way more nervous and is why I kept putting off talking about it) is Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. Before you go get your pitch forks and shit let me just talk about this for a second. Yes Vivzie and the shows have very big obvious issues with them but, much like Hetalia, I don’t think it’s actually as bad as people make it out to be. I spent hours in the anti tags and just like Hetalia antis its just people making out things to be a lot worse than they are and throwing around words that really don’t need to be used in this situation. My honest opinion on Vivzie is she’s a woman who never grew out of her 2012 shock humor phase that came with watching too much South Park and she’s too prideful for her own good. She made dumb mistakes and did dumb shit and she did apologize for it all. Of course her apology post kinda sucked and when people bring stuff up she’s not exactly very graceful in her responses. But never the less she’s not the pedo transphobic satan spawn everyone makes her out to be (for more info on this drama and why I think what I think I highly recommend this video, he actively does his research and looks into everything really well and I agree with most of his points). And even if she was I’ve personally never been the kinda person to let people who work on or have made stuff stop me from liking it. I hate JK Rowling but still like Harry Potter, I don’t like Tony Anselmo but I still love Donald Duck. Letting others’ shitty mistakes and bad personalities dictate what I watch and how I live my life has never been the way I lived and I’m really not gonna start today. As for the shows themselves, yeah they got issues. Some of them, again, a bit drug out of proportion by the antis, but still issues none the less. Giving Alastor Voodoo is a big one (it leans into the constant negative connotation that Voodoo is always strapped with despite being a real world religion that actual people follow), Vaggie is very much a bad stereotype and even though Vivzie wasn’t trying to be racist (openly stating that as a Latina she wanted more firey Latina representation) it still has the potential to harm and upset Latino viewers, and then Angel Dust who is kinda a mess and honestly a big way she could have fixed him was just to keep him by his original version instead of changing so much about him (that honestly would need a whole separate post to explain). 

So, yes, I acknowledge the issues and stuff in all this content and I’m very open and vocal about the issues just as I am with Hetalia. Liking these things doesn’t change that and I mostly made this post to make sure everyone knows that. But like I said before, your internet experience is up to you. If any of these things make you uncomfortable please do yourself a favor and block the tags. I promise I always keep things perfectly tagged on my blog down to the characters and ships. This isn’t gonna change. I’m pretty confident that no one here will take much issue with this. After all, if you like one of these things you know what it’s like to like things critically. If you have issues with anything on this post or me or anything I say or do come talk to me about it respectfully so no one is left thinking I’m some asshole for liking some dumb cartoon. 

TL;DR This blog is gonna stay mostly Hetalia but it’s ultimately a blog for any content I don’t want on my main and if there’s anything you don’t like or that makes you uncomfortable please just block the tags and keep about your day happily
