It's honestly frustrating that I've seen non-Russian queer people almost bragging about how they would be illegal in Russia, labeled an extremist or terrorist. Russian queers are in danger, their government has made it clear where it stands, and it's made this effort for the better part of a decade (even longer, perhaps). This will kill people, don't mistake this for a quirky little proclamation from a government, akin to somebody saying the sky is pink. Russian queer people were already expressing their fear, and the least we can do now is express our love for them, and advocate with them.

Russian queer people, I love you. I love you all so much. I am so sorry, I cannot begin to express the grief that I feel, and I hope that you are safe. Words cannot encapsulate how I feel as a non-Russian, and I cannot hope to comprehend how it feels to actually be in this situation.

Call your congress people and demand that they vote for the Ukraine aid bill.

It's been almost 500 days since congress last approved aid to Ukraine. 🇺🇦 forces are severely lacking in ammunition there, which means they cannot protect their cities and energy infrastructure and have to leave soldiers at the frontline without cover because they need to ration their firepower. Civilians are dying, soldiers defending freedom and democracy are dying. Ukraine will lose and cease to exist if they run out of weapons.

Russia is 100% responsible for the war, but inaction makes the USA complicit and will lead to a bigger war in Europe that is very likely going to include NATO directly, meaning your fellow countrypeople will actually have to come here and fight. Don't want that? Then fucking support Ukraine NOW! It's the morally right and logical thing to do and serves your own interests!!

I found this fascinating post about Russian short names a long time ago and NOW I CAN FINALLY DO SOMETHING WITH IT basically Russian names can take different forms depending on how close you are to who you’re talking to. Heavy’s name is Mikhail (we don’t know his last name), and this is how Spy refers to him in the comics, while Heavy’s short name is Misha, which is used by his family. But the name forms can get even fluffier or more tender than that! I asked some Russian speakers on Twitter for options and they gave me a wide variety, so I just threw a bunch in here. |D Other options could be Mishutka, Mishula...

I’d imagine anything fluffier than Misha would be embarrassing for him, but Heavy appreciates the effort anyway. <3

I went with Nadya, Svetlana, and Alessandra to one of their craft shows (it makes money and they like making jewelry) and this is what I learned.

The Eastern European crafting community is fucking ruthless.

Try to avoid all-nighters before a craft show. You will need to be aware of your surroundings in order to stay safe.

Don't insult Olga's borscht. She will stab.

If you steal, ensure you have no hands; otherwise you will lose them.

Candles and homemade spray-on conditioner make a good flamethrower substitute.

Jana will throw spices into the eyes of men that hit on her.

It's the most terrifying environment on Earth (this coming from someone that's been to juvie).

Old lady Pavlova can tie a bow with her feet.

There is such a thing as decorative crossbows.

Decorated bullets are very popular.

Fyodora sells embarrassing fake tattoos to put on a friend after a drunk night out to freak them out.

Fucking hell

Russians blew up the Kakhovka Dam and basically destroyed the entire hydroelectric power plant.

Some regions in southern Ukraine are being flooded right now, others are going to lose access to fresh water. Even after the war ends, it will take years to rebuild the destroyed structures, and it will take decades (and enormous amount of resources) to reverse the ecological damage. Some things are going to be irreversible.

This will change the face of Ukrainian south for decades to come.

For myself

Yesterday and today i spent all night and morning at the basement of my house because it's was huge missile and drones attack at all Ukraine and who know if this night they will do it again

I just want to live peaceful life, draw what i want, be happy, find a job,but all this impossible when russia try to kill you. every.single.day.

All i think right know that i scared for that night and i don't know if i survive if they again attack us with rockets
