jinx and the firelights

every few months when I get arcane brainrot again I eventually ponder one problem which keeps bugging me.

Why is after the firelight raid on the blimp only the red haired firelight grieved when jinx apparently killed four other ones. Why does ekko only get upset when she is killed?

So the boring explanation is that the red haired firelight is a symbol for the others and we are supposed to infer that the others are also remembered.

BUT I have another headcanon. We see later that jinx has non lethal bombs who only produce a pink cloud. And in dynasties and dystopia there is the line: enemies all around me but I only count them 180.

And so I'm thinking. What if only the pink haired firelight died? And the others were just defeated? Silco says later that most of the firelights died on the bridge but he might be wrong? In the scene he is clearly trying to defend jinx from Sevika.

I like that headcanon because from ekkos perspective jinx killing the red haired firelight would mark another low, another betrayal, while from jinx's side it would mark another loss of control. It would just make the blimp scene more tragic and dramatic imo. And it would open the plot for some timebomb shenanigans later down the line.

okay this is very out of the blue but i stumbled across your ao3 the other day (good shit btw 10/10) and i really wanna hear more about seviktor if you have any spare thoughts? bc they make for a very interesting and unexpected pairing and i'm totally here for it

Hello darling! I'm very glad you've enjoyed my little collection of works! I'm working on so more seviktor peices, as they've taken turns with meljay and are now giving me brainrot.

The amazing @eddawrites was the one who introduced me to this ship and converted me into seviktorism. I'll share the post again after I post this.

My thoughts on Seviktor are this: they seem like opposites, but they are not. At first glance, Sevika is everything Viktor is not. Calculating, street smart, ruthless, outspoken. Viktor is oblivious for the most part, too focused on his research to live in the real world, and he shies away from the spotlight.

Now let's look at the ways they are alike. Both from Zaun, they share the mark of the city on their bodies. Their disabilities exist, and they have modded their bodies to meet the challenges. They both use shimmer (i have a hippie Seviktor au that i am messing around with), and they are both very loyal to those who they choose to follow. They have strong love for their city and long to see it improved.

There is so much potential in the ways they can empower one another. Sevika is a follower, seems unable to act on her own without a leader, and when, inevitably, Viktor descends into Zaun for good, she could operate as his right hand in an effort to better their city. Viktor as the leadership (revolutionary), Sevika as the enforcement of his vision. They have the potential to be the best team, binary stars, tunnel-visioned in their purpose. I want them to meet and immediately be fixated on each other.

In a time of loss and what seems to be betrayal, Viktor uses Sevika to replace Jayce, and Sevika uses Viktor to replace Silco. Why? It's easy to fall back into familiar patterns, even with different people. The connection that they had with people from their past will not be perfectly replicated, but that's not what important, it's about filling a void.

I can see them having such an effect on each other that they change the way the other sees the world and see themselves. I want them to appreciate each other in a way others have failed to, I want them to survive together. I want some codependency between them, where they aren't able to function properly without each other.

And if Arcane s2 doesn't give it to me? I'll have to give it to myself :)

I would love to play with the idea of having a procrastination piece to work on when I get too bored/uninterested in my current writing projects. but like....more deliberately. the OW fic I'm working on now exists because of OW brainrot and also because I've started the second chapter of the long voidstrike piece (and ADHD too lol).

I am slowly getting some Arcane brainrot with how many Sevika fics I've read over the last many days and I have an idea kicking around my head for her.

but yeah...procrastination pieces. I wonder if I can better recognize when a fic is becoming stale would I be better able to either push past it or pick up something else while the brain spins ideas around in the background

sevika is my muse. and it's so much fun.

According to the Oxford dictionary definition, a muse is:

"A person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist".

Additionally, the verb, to muse, is defined as

"Being absorbed in a thought".

I know that we all love to joke around about "Arcane brainrot" xD

But I feel like my hyperfixation on Sevika isn't rotting my brain.

It's revitalizing it, actually.

I feel like so many other people in the Arcane fandom feel the same way.. like we latch onto a character and they bring out the best parts of ourselves: our creativity, our humor, our enthusiasm.

It makes me so excited to come here and also see what everyone else is writing, drawing, and saying about her.

I love daydreaming and thinking up all sorts of different scenarios about Sevika in my mind.

I'm almost always brainstorming, jotting down an idea, drafting a fic, blocking out a scene.

I haven't felt the inspiration to write for so many years. It's only recently (like literally in the past few months) that I started to again.

And I'm having the time of my life.

Words flow so freely from my fingertips and onto the keyboard.

Writer's block is a rare occurrence, and sometimes even practically non-existent.

So, thank you Sevika.

I have been sick with a fever for multiple days, and this has led my silco brainrot to float around in my head

I'm completely dazed and sweaty and all I think is "Silco taking care of sick SI reader"

Truly my mind is an enigma

I hope you feel better anon! <3 And it's a good suggestion, we've seen a little bit of him taking care of her while she's sick with hypothermia and when she was injuried.

But with a fever/cold it's similar but also a little different. He totally make her the crappy canned soup. That's all she gets, has to beg Sevika when she comes during visiting hours for some crackers. Sevika knows better than to give them to her, as Silco is already on edge from reader being sick. Short-tempered with near everyone, and knows his wrath is a lot worse than sick former nanny.

Silco is just probably stressed the fuck out while she's sick. He's forgotten how hard it is taking care of Jinx on his own for a few days, while running everything and also making sure Reader is cared for.

When he does have the time, he will cuddle her in bed. Maybe read to her, and switching out cold compresses for her forehead if she has a fever. While he's usually a lot more stressed, the second they're alone together, he's melted and fully relaxed once more.

Despite it all, I also think Silco enjoys being depended on. He's realized how dependent he is on her for basic day to day stuff, but seeing how he's her biggest comfort does something to his heart. Makes it go all pitter patter.

(He also totally gets a little sick by the end of it too, but he also takes shimmer regularly so it's not as bad. He just wants to smooch a little while she's looking so cute sometimes.)
