Today I went on my first-ever date with another lady!

We met on the dating site H.E.R after chatting for over a month and though I was terrified of my 1st date as a bisexual woman, I'm also so, so very proud of myself for going thru with it.

Overall, my date was so very kind, attentive, funny, and pretty! She gave me a warm, tight hug when we met outside the burger joint; we chatted casually as we waited in line (she thought I was shy at first...and I was!!); she insisted I order first; she likes her iced tea sweet like I do.

She likes vanilla milkshakes with whipped cream and I like cheer-wine floats; she shared chicken wings with me and I shared french fries with her; when I teased her that she's nasty for liking bleu cheese dip, she unironically bought me hot pleasantly mild sauce for my fries and insisted it was mine; we both made each other burst out laughing with personal stories and anecdotes; we shared some minor pain with respect; she likes red and sportswear and I like pink and Barbie; she gave me an even bigger, tighter hug at the end of the date...the kind that makes my ribs hurt a little and makes my back feel squished.

Just the kind of hug I like.

She thinks I'm adorable as anything.

I'm not too sure where it's all going to go yet, but I cannot wait for our 2nd date to a movie next week! Gah!

just finished interviewing bellini for one of my finals in my comedy class and i'm losing my mind over bellini going on a tangent about how if he were grading my comedy over the past year he would give me an A+. like i didn't ask him to say that and it wasn't related to any of the questions i asked but you better believe i'm leaving that in to be like see professor? BELLINI gave me an A+!!!

#it was very sweet lmao and a great conversation over all #last time i was in town i told bellini a one-liner i came up with about the 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym having the exact qualifications #for a strong password (8 letters a number and a special character) and he said he's repeated it to several people #and it's always gotten a big laugh!! which is so cool!!! i'm not typically a ''joke'' writer my stuff is usually character-driven #so that's awesome that both bellini AND scott really loved that line!!#bellini in particular has been such a fan of my comedy since we first met (across multiple eras now)#like we met while i was working on my musical ''other girls'' and he was so excited to hear about it when i first mentioned it #and had me send him the recording as soon as i got it #and he's been so helpful in developing aubrey as a solo sketch character too #it's so cool having a professional comedian (especially one with such a meticulously good ear for comedy like bellini)#be as excited about my work as i am and be able to help me refine it into something even better #and especially as a queer comedian today who's finding it difficult to navigate this landscape of being ''bad representation''#bellini having been an openly gay comedy writer for almost double my lifetime is such a great resource to have!!#of course a lot of this is true for scott too (tho scott hasn't actually *seen* any of my comedy yet. he's just heard me tell jokes from it #but bellini is such a special mentor for me and i'm so happy we randomly connected over mouth congress over a year ago

i see why you’ve all been going feral over that interview with the vampire series now

#just watched the first episode and hoo boy i am into it #interview with the vampire #the performances are incredibly good #and oh it's so toxic #and i am so here for it #i know the book it's based on is very queer coded but #i experience such a joy at seeing tv series now which are so unapologetically queer. like it makes me realise how much far we've come #even from like. ten years ago #it's clearly a story about toxic predatory love and it also happens to be queer and i'm so glad we can have that #that we can have that without it feeling like a villainisation of queerness #i'm sure some people won't like that aspect but i love it. i like seeing stories about fucked up queer relationships #because the world is FULL of stories about fucked up het relationships without it ever being a condemnation of heterosexuality #i like that gay narratives get to be complex and messy #also like. the vampirism symbolism ties to well to queerness and also other forms of marginalisation #it also lends itself really well to a story about power imbalance in relationships #i'm just very excited to see where all this goes

@mure-sauvage This is the WIP with the most progress, so I'll post a little snippet below the cut! Fun fact, it was inspired in part by an off-hand comment that @academicblorbo made in the discord server.

Dream did not often find himself at such leisure, unattended as he was. He turned his attention to the other bar-goers. There were women looking to drink, and men looking to dance. The air rippled with silver-edged imaginings, half-thought fantasies that shimmered once before dissolving into the ether. Dream contented himself with skimming the surface of these daydreams. He luxuriated in their mindless ebb-and-flow while Hob tended to the guests of the Inn.

It wasn’t long until a young man with pink hair let himself behind the bartop. Hob exchanged a few words with him, then handed off the glass he was holding to the young man. Hob met Dream’s eyes again, tilting his head towards the back exit as he let himself out from behind the bar. Dream met him halfway to the door.

“I hope you weren’t too bored,” Hob said over his shoulder as he held the door open for Dream. They started up the stairs that led to the upper floor of the Inn, the second level where Hob made his home. “Normally I would have just skived off, but as busy as it was tonight I couldn’t bring myself to abandon Janet to the horde.”

“It was… interesting. I do not often find myself among so many people.”

“So, you hated it?”

“Quite the opposite,” Dream assured him, pausing beside the door to Hob’s flat. He watched his friend fumble for the keys in his pocket, watching the furrow between his brows as he worked to fit the key into the door. Hob swung it open and flicked the light switch in the entryway. “I enjoyed watching you work.”

#tag games #i'm really excited for this one! I'm only about a third of the way through writing it #like none of my fics are conceptually groundbreaking we ALL know i'm going to make them kiss and the kiss is going to be predictable #from about 100 miles away. but i'm bad at making characters kiss so it's still exciting to me when i'm able to conceptualize writing #a story where it happens lol #*throws my hands in the air in exasperation* i'm used to writing navel gazing existential angst i'm BAD AT PLOT #so this is just me teaching myself how to set a plot for a story and follow through with it lol #teaching myself how to write one gay little scene at a time
