Amazon resorting to deleting negative reviews of Rings of Power on IMDB just cause they own it is super fucking humiliating for them but also demonstrates the problem that if like 4 companies own most of the internet that means they own both the media and all the sites that critique said media and you can say goodbye to any reliable consumer reviews of products on the internet

Maja hi! I have some thoughts about marriage stunt but nobody agrees with me because other mods never posted my ask. I just believe it was selling her show (wn) just before its end date of selling. I mean they tried to get a better buyer of it but they couldn’t and gave up. I thought it was because of his tiff movie but yesterday its trailer was released however they didn’t do any stunt. I also want to remind that he never used this stunt to sell his works(tgm, ghosted…) ghosted had bad reviews as well. He didn’t try to cover them. Every actor can have bad reviews, these movies are not his dream jobs. We all know this. Also remember how they tried to wrap up on june. He did alone sightings. He did podcast. But then suddenly they went to bermuda. Just before Simon’s timer and netflix is releasing wn’s rights news. And the marriage rumors, only bad pr to him. But it brought more fame to her. It only works for her again. I think it was last push before wn selling got wrapped up they tried to find a better producer but they couldn’t. If you noticed, after simon’s statement, she deleted her promo post. And we never got any sightings, or even trolling from them. Which we all know it was busy three weeks, sightings, trollings, articles. Actually when there were rumors, Gully was in canada, and justin will be at there too. They made justin posted from pt. L&D rumors debunked by releasing the location by l&d. he also got gene kelly, after these happened. They deleted her from his imdb. Red pill article is deleted as well. It looks like they wrapped up to me. He got what he wanted (GK movie). I feelike we are out of the wood finally.
I'm going to share your ask, but share my thoughts with you.
I really love how positive you're, but I don't know if it's that easy. Talking about his projects, she was at the Ghosted premiere; however, I agree that if this is PR for him, it's definitely not about selling his projects or covering up bad reviews, but more about getting projects or maybe that Gene Kelly project out of it. It's weird she deleted the WN post; I don't really see the point of it, even if they don't want her in the movies (I think there was an article about WN getting 3 movies). I'm actually interested in the fact that if they actually don't want her in it, it is because of the things people found out about her, and because even though more people have gotten to know her because of Chris, most of them don't really like her?
It definitely seemed like in the summer that this whole thing (if this is PR) had come to an end; he deactivated his social media accounts; there were no birthday posts or the whole podcast; but then the whole wedding thing happened.
I wouldn't necessarily say that him having that Gene Kelly project in IMDb Pro and them removing Alba as his wife from it means too much. That Gene Kelly project appears from time to time, or maybe never even leaves, so I wouldn't really put too much hope into that. I'd rather say don't put too much hope into anything they do or say. The only thing we can do is wait and see how this whole thing ends.
The problem here is that if this was only for PR reasons and there wasn't even a wedding, that doesn't really help the situation right now. They either need to fake a divorce or say that there was only a party in MA and they went on a vacation with friends in PT. Acting like nothing happened won't really help. Prior to the whole wedding thing, they could've just simply broken up and gone on with their lives, but that won't be that easy anymore.
These are obviously only plays if this whole thing is PR.

Favorite Horror movie Eliza is in?
I personally love Wrong Turn and Soul Survivors.
Thank you for the ask and excellent question! Those are my favorite Eliza horror movies too, with the addition of Open Graves. I think the idea / plot of both Soul Survivors and Open Graves is better but the overall execution is better in Wrong Turn. And since I've seen everything Eliza's been in, I'm gonna go nuts below the cut. Almost all of them have a twist!
Spoiler free ranking and mini-reviews of all of Eliza's scary movies below!
Using a loose definition of scary movie, the contenders in chronological order are: Soul Survivors (2001), Wrong Turn (2003), The Alphabet Killer (2008), The Coverup (2008), Open Graves (2009), Locked In (2010), The Scribbler (2014), and Eloise (2016).
Here's my ranking of all of these movies! Categories below are from IMDB, bold are the only ones that are really Horror movies. Links go to the pages for these from Eliza Dushku Daily. Some gifs may have spoilers.
Wrong Turn (Horror / Thriller)
Open Graves (Horror / Thriller)
Soul Survivors (Horror / Mystery / Thriller)
Locked In (Drama / Thriller)
The Alphabet Killer (Crime / Mystery / Thriller)
Eloise (Horror / Mystery / Sci-Fi)
The Coverup (aka The Thacker Case) (Crime / Drama / Mystery)
The Scribbler (Mystery / Sci-Fi / Thriller)
I prefer regular Horror to Crime / Mystery movies, so YMMV. Also Eloise squicked me out a little bit, so the horror got too intense for me. (I can still rewatch it.) I think Wrong Turn is alot better than any of the others. Please do your own check for content / gore / etc.
Spoiler free mini-reviews for each of these BELOW. I'll include a note if it's streaming for free in the USA (as of Oct 2023), but also check your library!
Wrong Turn - rated R - a classic! I like that they don't push Jessie (Eliza) and the main dude into being a couple / kiss. (They kiss in a deleted scene.) They work better as friends. I like the way the movie brings the group together. Warning: lots of gore. (reminds me of 2008 The Strangers a little bit) Bonus: the Albanian flag white tank top!
Tumblr media
Open Graves - rated R - I like the twist OK, but the execution of the movie is so-so. The main dude and Erica (Eliza) have decent chemistry. Eliza is charming and gets lots of screen time. The ending was a little bit of a let-down, because it focuses on the main dude. Streaming free on TUBI and others.
(semi-spoiler: if you like Final Destination you might like this.)
Tumblr media
Soul Survivors - rated PG-13 and R - I like the twist (another twist!) but the plot wanders. Annabel (Eliza) is friends with the main girl Cassie and they even dance together but Bad Girls at the Bronze it is not. I am not as harsh, but agree with alot of this reviewer's thoughts on Soul Survivors (esp the kissing scene) - not spoiler free review HERE. A great quote from it:
"An early scene of Cassie and Annabel dancing together is a clear attempt to recapture the Fuffy energy, but all it does is definitively disprove the theory that you can put Eliza Dushku onscreen with any wholesome blonde girl and sparks will fly. They have no chemistry. None." It's true. Annabel is not straight in this movie but Cassie definitely is. Cassie forgot to Bring It!
(PG-13 version streaming free on TUBI and others. R version streaming free on Pluto and others.)
Tumblr media
Locked In - rated R - Renee (Eliza) is not in this very much, despite being prominently featured in the poster. She's definitely a side character. I like the twist, but it's not as good as Soul Survivors because Renee is in it so little. (But when she is! <redacted> ahem.) The guy is blah. (Random shout-out to the lighting in the bar scene, Renee looks amazing. See below.)
Tumblr media
The Alphabet Killer - rated R - Inspired by a true story, Megan (Eliza) investigates missing girls and on paper the plot is good. I think the movie was afraid to commit and kept waffling. There's also minimal romance / sexual tension. And there's a lot of characters to keep track of. If you've always wanted to see Eliza in a cop uniform, this movie delivers. Streaming free on TUBI and others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eloise - rated R - Pia (Eliza) is in this a fair amount, and she has some backstory. She and a group of people (including her adult younger brother) go explore an abandoned mental institution. As you do. It's decent for a horror movie. Streaming free on Plex and others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Coverup (aka The Thacker Case) - rated R - Monica (Eliza) is an assistant to a personal injury lawyer. He takes on a police brutality case based on a true story. (ACAB! There is no twist in this movie.) Monica is not in the movie very much, and they give her the worst hair Eliza has ever had. They somehow make Eliza look almost plain, well as much as you can to Eliza. I applaud the topic but as a movie it's not great. Streaming free on Amazon Prime if you are a subscriber.
Tumblr media
The Scribbler - rated R - (BTVS fans this movie also stars Michelle Trachtenberg in a larger role than Eliza's.) It's based on a graphic novel. Jennifer (Eliza) has a few scenes as a criminal psychologist interviewing the main character, along with a cop detective. The plot stumbles around.

A Little Goncharov for Thanksgiving
Tumblr media
I learned about Goncharov the way I learn about most memes and pop culture, from my teenagers. In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, we had a group chat spring up on Discord that included two family friends who were going to be joining us for the holiday from out of town. One of the topics of conversation turned to Goncharov, the imaginary film around which an active Tumblr fan community had sprung up, as if it had been a real, little-known cult classic from 1973 made by Martin Scorsese.
It became a fun creative exercise—in the middle of the day, one of the kids would send a question about Goncharov: “What do you think about the relationship between Katya and Sofia?” or “What did you make of the clock tower imagery?” or “Goncharov… iphone or android guy?” To which someone else would playfully answer.
This same kind of thing was happening on a massive scale on Tumblr, where artists created movie posters and promotional materials, composers posted songs and soundtracks, people posted deleted scenes and script fragments. There are reviews and academic papers, fictitious Wikipedia and IMDb listings, and A LOT of fan art.
Tumblr media
Lynda Carter posted a photo on her Tumblr with Henry Winkler that she captioned, “Me and ‘The Fonz’ at the premiere of Goncharov (1973) at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.”
Discussions popped up about the characters and who would play them in the reboot. Posts were shared hundreds, then thousands of times. A Goncharov (1973) Lore Google Doc and Discord server were created to help keep the content organized.
Our family’s fan-favorite character was Ice-Pick Joe, so I wrote “Musings on Ice-Pick Joe” in between chopping veggies for stuffing and waiting for the sweet potatoes to roast, complete with some AI-generated art. That was four days ago, and the post has been liked and shared more than I anticipated, and I keep thinking about why that is.
Tumblr media
Conversations around Goncharov have continued, and I find myself wondering what it is about this moment in time and this type of activity that continues to capture so many people’s imagination and engagement?
Tumblr is a hub for public fandom culture and community in a way that the other social media platforms are not. It’s where you can find discourse and fanfiction/fanart for almost anything.
Still, this is a little different and on a much larger scale. At a time when people are looking for Twitter alternatives, with the stress and joy of holidays approaching, what is drawing so many people in?
We talked about this over Thanksgiving: the way Goncharov allowed people low-stakes permission to create, to play to their particular strengths, to connect with other people, to escape reality for a moment, to build a new community. We talked about the shortcomings and challenges we saw: power dynamics, issues of race, etc.
It’s an evolving experiment, and as such, it has been shaped by the many variables involved and course-corrected each time someone notices a gap or opportunity: What would a musical look like? What if some of the actors had gone on Sesame Street or the Muppet Show? What if Gonzo played Goncharov and Miss Piggy played Katya? What would the remake look like set in 1980s NYC? What recipes might be created for the Goncharov cookbook? (I remember how much fun we had making the Forking Good cookbook.) There really is no end to what people can come up with. I’m waiting to see if Goncharov gets a Tom Gauld comic or a mention on Saturday Night Live.
Tumblr media
It seems relevant that role-playing games, both online and tabletop, have recently increased in popularity. Dungeons and Dragons was the cornerstone of Stranger Things, and 50,000 people attended Gen Con (tabletop game convention) in 2022. It’s not my world, although I’ve watched the joy my kids take in it. My energy goes into writing, but I can absolutely appreciate the fun of playing together.
As a writer, I walk around with worlds in my head, but I don’t get to share them until they get published. Something like Goncharov, which was not an intellectual property “owned” by anyone, gives people permission to imagine and play.
I think it speaks to a need we have an human beings to experience connection, joy, wonder, and hope. We've always had those needs. People have been gathering around fires or tables, telling stories, for thousands of years.
Today, the hearth may be a computer or a phone, but the desire is not that different. My November began with the publication of Mother Christmas, my graphic novel, the secret origin of the Santa Claus story which is rooted in the ancient Muses, whose gifts inspire humanity. One of the questions my story attempts to answer is: Where does inspiration come from?
Tumblr media
If we look at Goncharov we can see that inspiration comes from so many places. So much is possible when people given themselves permission to play, to shrug off the inner critics and outer trolls, and to imagine for a moment a different world that they have a part in creating. That is such a powerful and compelling idea.
Stories remind us that we are not alone, that we share struggles, and that we can overcome obstacles. There are so many challenges in the world right now.
Maybe Goncharov is a lens through which people are seeing themselves and each other, reminding us how much fun it is to make-believe and how powerful it can be to have a shared image of the world.
The first step in creation is imagining. Exercising that muscle, allowing ourselves to play and tell stories and make art is a worthwhile one, and I think it's one that we need to survive.  The Goncharov phenomenon gives me hope, because if we can have this many people put their energy into creating a whole world around Goncharov, just imagine what else is possible?

Dagmara Dominczyk Filmography Review w/ Links Dag has had a great career! I think you can see her shift towards more interesting and prestige projects as she gets older, especially in the past 5-ish years, which is really interesting. Movies w/ her Polish accent have a ★ in the title, ♡ denote my favorites. If a movie isn't included, then I didn't want to watch it or couldn't find it lol. Additionally, I watched most of these projects on soap2day or flixxer!
Keeping the Faith - I could not find her in this? I think she might be improperly labeled on IMDb. Please send reinforcements and watch this Ben Stiller/Edward Norton/Jenna Elfman religious romcom.
Third Watch - Accessible on Tubi Procedural about first responders - Dag plays a morally dubious counselor that one of the EMTs gets the hots for. I actually beg everyone to watch this for a gorgeous shot of Dag over a voiceover "this chick is hot. if liz hurley and that other european chick who was in that one bond movie had a love child, this chick would be it" fair description! Rock Star ★ - Musical drama where Dag plays Tania, PR for a rock band and their resident hot girl. She's not in it a ton, but she's got a great scene where she gets to make out with Jennifer Aniston. Spoilers + transphobia CW - it's revealed midway that Tania is a trans woman, and while not really played for laughs, Mark Wahlberg's character is uncomfortable around her afterwards and she's effectively removed from the plot. The Count of Monte Cristo ♡ - Free on Youtube hell yeah! Dag plays Mercedes, the primarily love interest. She appears in the beginning scenes and after the 2/3 mark, but is pivotal to the plot. she's in some really gorgeous dresses and i assume the crew loved her because she looks fantastic the entire time. also, super great deleted scene here @ the 7 minute mark. They - On youtube! Unfortunately dull horror movie. Dag plays Terry, one of the adults experiencing night terrors based on childhood events. She only appears in a handful of scenes, but has a solo scene around the halfway point. It's alright? SVU ★ - On Hulu and Peacock. TW for CSA and graphic depictions of murder (its SVU). we all know SVU. if you don't im sorry you've missed out on the epic highs and lows of watching people get the shit knocked out of them and for a detective to connect it back to some random man they knew in high school. Dag has a prominent guest episode role as Kate, appearing at the halfway mark as a Europol agent who helps one of the characters track down a child trafficker. A lot of her walking around gorgeously and what's frankly, a great performance! She plays sensitive but firm detective very well. On Hulu and Peacock. CSA tw- suggestive images are shown of an actress who was 19 at the time, but portrayed at 14.
Tough Luck ★ - On Tubi. Please watch it. Honestly, I think worth the watch just for how weird it is. Dag plays Divana, the female lead and wife of a circus. owner. you read that right! there's a plot twist and i won't tell you what it is, but just know. i did not see it coming. On Tubi. Please watch it.
Bad Apple - I'm not even sure what to say about this movie? Dag plays Gina in a crime (?) thriller. She's sprinkled throughout the movie and is the main love interest for some guy. I genuinely enjoyed this movie but I'd suggest watching it under the influence of something to maximize the viewing experience. The Five People You Meet in Heaven - on vimeo Religious made for TV movie set in the 1940s/50s. Dag plays Marguerite, the main character's wife and oh my god she is so pretty. she's so gorgeous and talented. what was i saying? its set in a boardwalk? okay. i'll even ignore the weird racist subplot with like. a genie. sometimes we have to pay the fucking bills okay. 24 - on Hulu. Who the hell made this show up? 24 is a drama series where every season takes place in 24 hours and every episode is one hour of the day. Insane concept. Dag appears briefly as an evil lady - she's got a gun and looks great and wears some gorgeous earrings. Trust the Man - 2000s romcom! Dag has a brief role as Pamela and goes on a date with one of the male leads, there's a follow up scene where they talk briefly. Not a lot of screen time, but you know. If you're in a bad romcom mood. Mentor - on youtube Dag has the lead female role as Julia, a graduate assistant who's romantically involved with an older writing professor. She is great in this, injecting a bunch of charisma into a fairly bland film. Lonely Hearts - Warning for Jared Leto and moderate violence. Drama based on the real life murderers Martha Beck and Ray Fernandez - Dag plays Delphine, one of their victims. Dag is once again, a real talent and can truly transform what's on the page. She's got a brutal scene where she confesses her pregnancy to Salma Hayek that she executes perfectly. Also, she looks absolutely stellar in the 1940s styling. She appears around the 2/3 mark, which I recommend skipping to to minimize your Leto exposure. Helena from the Wedding - On Pluto Tangent time! My friends on discord and I made this horrific little fake movie universe called Going Down with all of our favorite middle aged actresses (including Dag and Melanie Lynskey). and who is in this? Melanie and Dag! They're paired together and have nice chemistry in this indie drama. It's pretty slow and they're scattered throughout the film, but I still recommend watching for Dag's microbangs.
Higher Ground ★ ♡ - on Roku. Do not. ask me about this film. don't even bring it in my vicinity. Dag plays Annika, the best friend to Vera Farmiga's religious main character. Dag is fantastic, she's witty and charming to Vera's more demure character and they are super homoerotic. Like Tough Luck, I actually beg you to watch this. The Good Wife ♡- On Amazon for free. Lawyer procedural - Dag has a prominent guest role as a lawyer(?) for a South American company. Honestly she's not given much, but I love her suit. I mean, its the good wife, it's like pretty good. Suits - On Netflix and Peacock Dude this is the show Megan Markle is in? Huh? Anyways - Dag has a brief role as a woman who faced sexual discrimination in her workplace. She's only got 2 scenes, but she's like...there! Felix the Painter -On Vimeo A short film about a struggling artist, but more importantly, Dagmara looking stunning and speaking french. Go girls! On Vimeo Person of Interest - Free on Amazon - TW for domestic violence Dag plays a woman helped by the main characters in escaping her abusive husband. Not the most creative role ever, but Dag does well with the stuff she's given, especially in a really short timeframe. The Immigrant ★ - On Pluto - TW for domestic violence and nudity. Dag has a minor role as Belva, one of the burlesque performers working for Joaquin Pheonix's character. She's only got three scenes, two in the beginning and one closer to the 2/3 mark, so not much to say, but a good film overall. Jack Strong - On Tubi A Polish drama featuring her husband Patrick Wilson, Dag plays a FBI agent going undercover in Poland during the Cold War. While Dag's role is fairly minor, her real life history as a Polish immigrant who fled to the US due to her father's political ties makes it worth the watch. It is, however, NUTS that she didn't actually get to play a pole. what the hell guys.
Boardwalk Empire - On HBO Dag has a guest role as a drunk bar patron. She's engaging to watch and I mean, it's Boardwalk Empire. Worth the watch. Let's Kill Ward's Wife - On Youtube A dark comedy film made with some of her friends and husband, Dag plays Ward's wife and does. guess what. get murdered! She's insufferable (but ngl I was on her character's side), which means she did her job well, but jesus. I could not stand this film.
The Deuce - On HBO Dag's got a brief role as a. adult film consultant? and wears a pretty turtleneck and has curly hair in this 70s drama. This is where she met Maggie Gyllenhaal, who would go on to cast her in The Lost Daughter! Also, apparently Dag's scenes were heavily cut down in this episode :(
Abe - On Youtube Dag plays ARIAN MOAYED's wife. It's a drama about a half Israeli, half Palestinian family. Unfortunatley, in light of Noah Schnapp's actions surrounding the genocide occuring in Palestine, I would suggest you not watch.
Prodigal Son ★- Free on the CW Drama series! Dag has a small guest spot as an assassin called the Nightingale. She looks great and gets a fun fight sequence! The Assistant - On HBO Maybe this film was good? I don't know. I was hunting for Dag and she got ONE LINE at the VERY END. Mattmac jumpscare halfway in and his big sad horse eyes.
The Lost Daughter ♡ - On Netflix Drama featuring the Olivia Colman! Dag plays Callie, pregnant sister in law to Dakota Johnson's character. I watched this movie when it came out and did not recognize Dag at all! She's scattered throughout and I barely understood this film, but, oh Dag. Her Jersey(?) accent was a beacon of light to my confusion.
We Own this City ♡ - On HBO- Warning for graphic violence and police brutality. Biopic about the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force and the horrific corruption that took place. Dag has a supporting role as Erika, a FBI agent investigating the Task Force. Not a super prominent role since the show balances between flash backs and the investigation, but a well made show that's very worth the watch. She gets to play a flute. The Accidental Wolf ★- I did not see this but Arian Moayed wrote and directed this? Succ supporting cast I love you! You can find Dag presenting Arian an AAM award here. My Love Affair with Marriage ♡ ★ Dag plays the lead in this funky animated film about womanhood and marriage. Honestly on first watch it wasn't my favorite, but I've really come to love it's weird musical numbers and plot. Dag has a great vocal performance as Zelma, she really has some magnetic quality to her voice. Succession ♡ ★- On HBO Dag plays Karolina Novotney, head of Communications in this drama series. The show is a little slow and honestly not for me-- can you imagine. No, Succession is the series of all time and she plays THE Karolina Novotney, hot lesbian and resident man hater. Give me a scene where she isn't glaring Tom down. Go shivlina, go girls, I'm a fan. She delivers a fantastic and subtle performance, particularly in the fourth season. I love you Karolina Novotney. Bottoms ♡♡♡♡♡- BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dag plays a milf Priscilla ♡ - On HBO. Dag plays Ann Beaulieu, Priscilla's mom. She's pretty wonderful in this as well and gets to show off such a wide range of emotions. I love anything period piecey and Priscilla is a greattt film that actually engages with the crazy power dynamic between Elvis and Priscilla. Love Miller's Girl - On Netflix This movie was nottt for me, BUT. I loveee Dag's character in this. She's a mean horny lady named Beatrice and I swear to god my mind was REWIRED hearing Dag say "Or are some cunts....remarkable?" Honestly blows everyone else out of the water since they're doing these godawful Tennessee accents.
Congrats if you made it to the end of this review! Feel free to message me or send an ask if you watch any of these.

you do know you're assuming stuff... AGAIN?
You're assuming the imdb rating was review bombed by the buddies, do you know the people who watch this show mostly do not belong to fandoms? I just saw the people who reviewed this episode was 30+ years old, yeah we do have people in this fandom that check out that age box... But it's not every one.
you're assuming Oliver posted those emojis on IG because of that rating. We literally do not know that. We know sometimes he posts things for a certain person or persons and when they see it he deletes it. Or maybe he just saw the rating (audience) for the episode, which was pretty low.
Can you please think for a second before throwing MORE hate? Why are the Eddie girlies always fighting for their life in here or over on twitter? Calm. Down. It's not that deep.

me leaving a 1 star for amelia’s movie on imdb (and you should too) especially because i saw there was like 20 written reviews and 1 negative one where someone talks about how as an abuse survivor they see some issues with it and it was mysteriously deleted a few days later like hmm ok! so anyways here’s 1 star to bring that average score down

So as far as I can tell with IMDB, they seem to be only flagging, deleting, delaying and otherwise messing with reviews of brand new films and shows, whereas they don’t appear to give a damn about anything older. I submitted two reviews of two current TV shows 3 days ago and though they were approved, they’re still not appearing, whereas I did a review today for an old film from the 1950s and it was up within the hour.
Trying to figure out the causes of all this: when it happened with the Rings of Power, it was unquestionably to do with IMDB being owned by Amazon and wanting to protect their investment, but it’s not nearly as clear why they would be doing the same for Netflix and Apple+ shows. Are they taking money from the big studios to remove negative reviews? Can studios purchase chunks of positive ratings, the way people can buy YouTube views and Facebook interactions?

My phone is cluttered with random screenshots I've taken. Half of them are from IMDb (because my boredom inspired in me a love of looking up bad reviews and screenshotting them, apparently). I should really just share them all onto here, if I can. Then I can have proof I did it while still removing their awful clutter from my phone.
When I say bad, I mean I have a bunch of 1-5 star reviews for films I've mostly never seen, but that I once (or still) thought I wouldn't like. Here's a few of them (I'll add them here and then delete them off my phone). Note: Not all of these are still my opinion, and the ones that are aren't always even fully formed opinions, so they may not be permanent:
Edit: Nope, I can't. Not because I don't want to, but because it crashed my phone just trying to load all of them. there's at least 100+ screenshots, dozens of downloads and Things to read if we're out somewhere, and a couple of images. I need to clean it all out. I know that much.

Okay did anyone discuss Henry Cavill’s latest post about his new project that his girlfriend just so happened to produce//
She didn’t produce it, it’s the company she works for (Vertigo) who “secured the IP” of Warhammer before taking it to Amazon. So remember when I sent in an anon that she or Henry and his people lied that she was *the* VP of Legendary and then Legendary named the hiring of the actual VP? Yeah, Henry’s GF got sacked or left and then made a post that she now works at Vertigo (and her LinkedIn suspiciously got deleted at the same time as well. Not even went private, but deleted perhaps to cover when she left Legendary?) Which the head of vertigo sounds like an awful guy with super questionable ethics.
Anyway, Henry swears she’s the reason the new project is getting made. On IMDb it shows the project is going to be animated. It sounds like a snooze fest unless you’re part of the super niche fandom. I doubt it will even get made.
But funny enough, there’s a lot of questions about Henry’s GF’s visa status because she’s from the US and has seemed to be living and working in the UK for the better part of ‘21 and ‘22. Which is almost impossible if done correctly because even though people WFH now, you still aren’t supposed to do so from a different country unless you have the proper visa. So people think she either hasn’t actually been in the UK as often as she seems (due to PR purposes) or has been and WFH but doing so without the proper visa. It’s apparently quite difficult to get the proper work visa in the UK, that’s why people don’t think she has it. 🌶️ (I’ll use this as my emoji if I ever send in another ask).
Thanks for all of the info! It all sounds…interesting to say the least.
Also I know I’ve been spending too much time on BookTok and Bookstagram lately because I saw your pepper and my brain was immediately ready to a spicy review of something 😂🦎

huh. my friend is watching rings of power and says its really good, it doesnt look that cheap and the plot holes can be overlooked. another chimed in that amazon deleting imdb reviews is okay since the reviews were hate from before the show even came out. honestly its all so opposite to what everyone on my dash has been saying i wonder if i should reevaluate my feelings towards the show (then again ive never read or watched lord of the rings so i didnt really give a shit to begin with lol)
besides, if shes having fun then why would i stop her yknow? she likes it and thats what matters

Also made a poster for the fake movie from “Ransom” LOL
Tumblr media
Headcanons for The Eighth Passenger:
Andres and Martin bribed their way into at least 3 festival premieres, and used a completely out of context quote from Nairobi’s review
The total movie is 2 hours 56 minutes, credits included
After the whole kidnapping thing, they think it’s a good idea to release the director’s cut of the movie, which is 4 hours long, nobody watched it
This has a 12% fresh critics score on rotten tomatoes and a 31% audience score, 2.1 on letterboxd (which then went up to 3.1 after the kidnapping because some people felt sorry for Andres and more people thought the kidnapping, and all that followed, was the funniest thing ever), 4.5/10 on IMDB
Nacho is nominated for a Goya for best supporting actor
Andres’ character has no arc whatsoever, just suffers and cries for 4 hours to the point where audiences wonder if this is a snuff film
A scene was deleted because test audiences hated it so much that people broke into physical fights right there in the theater

For anyone who believes fan reactions to Lucy (and the Buck/Lucy kiss) actually had an impact on where the story is today, just browse @911bts and take a look what was filmed when.
For example, they filmed at least parts of May Day in February already, more than a month before 5x11 even aired.
That would require some time travel shenanigans for the show runners and writers to change the course of half a season due to some bad reactions.
And even just cutting scenes due to those reactions doesn’t work. While the final edit does only get finished shortly before the episode airs and there can be last minute cuts and changes, removing an entire storyline that was filmed would mean having to replace it with something else to fill the time that was allocated for said storyline. That would mean either dragging existing scenes out or reshooting others and making them longer, and that would mess with the entire composition of episodes, and the flow of story arcs throughout the season. Do you honestly believe the show runners would go through such an utter hassle, just because a handful of people on twitter are shouting at them angrily and leaving bad reviews on IMDB? Come on.
There’s no “deleted Buck/Lucy romance” or love triangle, or anything of the sort. Some of Arielle’s scenes were cut because they didn’t fit into the final edit for whatever reason (flow, time, etc). But that’s it.
