Okay, so listening to Jamie Muscato’s versions of Freeze Your Brain and Meant to be Yours and here’s what I think
Maybe slightly biased based on the fact that I adore Jamie Muscato and am very indifferent about Ryan McCartan but I digress
(Not going to say who I think is the best JD because I really can’t decide but just some things I noticed)
To start, both performances are VERY SIMILAR. If you queued Ryan and Jamie’s versions of Freeze Your Brain for someone who had never heard the song before I doubt they’d be able to tell much of a difference
That being said, I think Jamie has the better voice objectively speaking. It’s sharper, cleaner and has better technique. Additionally, Jamie’s very obviously a better actor. Just listening to the “Veronica, oh my God, no” kinda stuff is enough to tell you that. Ryan sounds like he’s acting, which isn’t to say that he’s bad per se, Jamie’s just better
However, it doesn’t really matter who’s the better actor/singer because Ryan’s performance is somehow more…deranged in a way that really fits the character. Jamie’s more polished voice doesn’t have the same effect that Ryan’s does.
That’s just my two cents anyway.

Jason doesn’t know why he did it.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol in his system or maybe it was his subconscious still being salty about his family’s comments about him not having many hobbies.
He reads!
What’s wrong with reading!?
Sure, it was mainly about work now a days but that’s besides the point!
Apparently it wasn’t good enough to be counted as a ‘hobby’ by the others.
So when he was walking back from a bar on his night off and got hit in the face with flyer about auditions for the local theater group Mixed up Manhattan he stuffed it in his pocket and said “fuck it”.
Needless to say he was mildly confused when he woke up the next day to a call back for JD from Heathers the musical.
He was more confused when he found out his “Veronica” was being played by a dude.
Turns out Mixed up Manhattan was a group who did not care about gender as long as you could bring a character to life.
Now he was in too deep to back out, if he was going to act out a scene with someone. Than he was going to put his whole dick and balls into it.
It was only fair for “Veronica” after all.
~~~~~
Danny was slightly surprised when he went back to callbacks and saw Drunk Dude in the group.
Danny found him silly and charming in the waiting room the other night but he was clearly intoxicated when he auditioned. Danny thought that the chances of seeing him again was very slim.
But there he was, looking a little bit out of his comfort zone.
Did he even remember auditioning?
As they were called up for a scene he flashed the other a smile and felt his core loosen with the other guy’s shoulders.
Turns out, Jason had some good singing chops.
~~~~~~~~
Jason Todd lands a lead in a musical.
The musical about death and sex.
His family must never know.
The second one of them finds out his life is over again.
They will go out of their way to embarrass Jason in front of Danny and there will go the whole dark and mysterious thing he has been trying to do.

Heathers canon-divergence AU where Veronica and JD still give Heather Chandler a good-morning cup of Drano and fake her suicide note, but when Veronica gets to school the next morning, Heather is there like nothing ever happened. And continues to act - almost - like nothing ever happened, while Veronica's walking around with the sword of Damocles dangling over her head - did she dream the whole thing? She couldn't have, because JD remembers it too. Was Heather not really dead? But she didn't have a pulse. Nobody's talking about her having to go to the hospital, nobody's talking about finding her suicide note, she doesn't seem hurt or sick or anything. Veronica would almost think that nothing did happen, or at least that Heather doesn't remember anything happening -
Except for the way Heather keeps looking at her.
And the potentially-(and-then-actually-)deadly 'accidents' happening to people around Veronica, that are starting to seem less and less like accidents.
