I love your Benrey design! Can you tell me more about his desing and about yours headcanon about him ?

Hi hi hi! My first ask! :3 I'll gladly explain my design for Benny boy.

Sorry if this goes off as a tangent, btw.

------ BENREY DESIGN ------

So, the way I draw Benrey took a little trial and error. My style shifts and changes a lot sometimes, and with certain characters it can be harder for me to find a way to draw them that I really like.

Personally, little, round headed man? pointy lil ears? I love it.

His hair has also gone through some changes in my style. When I started drawing him it was usually right at the neck/shoulders, then I started drawing him with just a mass of short lil spikey hair, and now currently we're in the 'hair almost to the bottom of the spine" length. I will always draw it as just pitch black darkness, and as scruffy as possible.

I dunno why but I absolutely love the designs of him where the shadow of his face is part of his hair, so that's what I stick with.

In his.. 'hair', are multiples of eyes and teeth, and the eyes often have their own expressions and emotions to them. Sometimes they just pop up somewhere and he ruffles his hair to make em go away.

I personally like drawing him as thin as a twig, but thicc boy benny is a very good hc as well.

When it comes to the Final Boss Benrey, my personal design for him is just this giant, vaguely human-esque inky mass of goopy flesh and eyes and limbs.

------ PERSONAL HEADCANONS ------

I don't have any full listing of my personal headcanons, but i guess now is a good time to start ^^

Please keep in mind these are just my personal headcanons, I like most hcs i find online but these are just my favorites to work with for art/rps

Benrey is an alien from Xen

Not only an alien from Xen but he also was practically raised in Black Mesa

He escaped confinement but didn't know how to get out so he just took a guard uniform to try and go undercover until he could maneuver his way out.

Heard about Gordon from other guards and scientists, so when they met he just decided to try and follow him in hopes he could lead him to the way out. The rest is history.

He struggles with speaking when he gets upset, and bonds with Joshua over this.

He loves Joshua to death, and bonds very well with the kid. They both like to harass Gordon endlessly.

He's pretty close with Tommy, they're pretty much best friends.

Personal clothing hcs for him is very much like he came straight out of Hot Topic or Spencers. I like to imagine him in shirts with psychedelia or mushroom themes. Otherwise, gaming merch.

He doesn't need to eat, sleep, nothing. But he likes doing everything human's do. He thinks its funny.

He doesn't feel pain much either, and can just regenerate/respawn or whatever when he dies. He ends up realizing that Gordon's hand won't ever regenerate, and that it was excruciatingly painful and feels extremely guilty about it.

Ship wise, I like putting him with Gordon (as i think like 70% of the fandom does), but I have grown a small interest in him and Tommy, or all three together.

any jason headcanons you enjoy?

some of these are going to be more widely accepted fanon, i think, but! ^^;

smallest robin turned largest robin. (i actually think for size it goes jason > dick > tim > damian > steph. i also like the idea that as red hood he's taller than bruce, but bruce is broader/heavier.)

ik canonically he didn't join the school's theater/drama club bc of robin commitments, but in my head he was still part of a group <3 maybe they had a city one during the summer? idk

i also think he was starting to get involved with the martha wayne foundation before he died.

alfred & he are close. ik canonically alfred tends to be a lot more victim blame-y with jason (as all of them are) but i think that entire retcon was stupid so <3

he can cook and cook well!

related: he also stress bakes. and cooks, too. also a stress cleaner. actually, just in general, i think he responds to stress with action. anything that feels "useful" or "helpful"--so feeding people, maintaining weapons/armor, cleaning up a space, etc.

very neat, and meticulous about his space. like, he might have a few things lying around that are "in use" but for the most part everything has a spot.

phobia of needles! it was worse when he was robin, but as an adult he's worked on it & learned how to manage it. however, in times of high stress it shows back up. and he's not good with any kind of unexpected need for shots.

i saw something somewhere about jason having multiple copies of books--not necessarily editions (though def that too) but like... one to put on display & one he can annotate/dog-ear/mark up/etc as h pleases. which i like a lot!

also inspired by something else--this time a piece of art, i think for something set in the batman beyond universe--but. i think he develops hearing problems, and maybe even already has? (actually; on that subject, i think he probably has tinnitus now, and maybe develops hearing loss as he gets older.) [updating with a link to the art]

good with kids. that one might just be canon xD

does a lot of volunteer work when he's not vigilante-ing. he does work with various places, but i think one of his favorites is like, storytime with kids at a library, or something.

i go back & forth between "jason is warmer" and "jason is colder" post-resurrection, and i think i like to stick with somewhere in the middle---he gives off a lot of heat, but has a harder time retaining. so even tho he feels warm to everyone else, he's still cold.

not really a headcanon, but. white streak + autopsy scar is peak jason design~

ASKS FOR MY WEIRD TREE!!

break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

Cen has lost everything before! Classic case of amnesia with patchy memories of 'I was happy once. I had a community once'. They woke up from something similar to petrification on the deck of a Spelljamming ship, with nothing but loss and emptiness in them and it made them hollow. They moved like a ghost through life for a while, slowly rebuilding themself with a new community. I think it would take losing that new community again to really break Cen. And the aftermath of that would be wrath and fury and trying to fix it, but I think if it became clear it was unfixable, it would probably kill them.

desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

The sweet answer to this is that more than anything Cen wants a community back. They know they can't ever have what they had, but they're determined to build something new. They're not secretive about this, but don't really overtly explain it. Cen gathers people who are important to them, and puts effort into watching over them and learning about them over time. The slightly scary answer is that Cen woke up with power. Cen keeps finding friends with power. They have an unshakable belief that the power exists for a reason; that one day they are going to be in a situation that requires something extraordinary. They are very open about wanting to build their skills, and are... very enthusiastic about the destructive abilities of their companions.

fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?

Cen's greatest fear is a blank space in their memory where something cataclysmic destroyed their previous life. Very deep down, they fear the reappearance of that force more than anything. If confronted with it... well until recently it would've been a no-hold-barred fight to the death. Cen is vengeful and can be cruel, and has strong emotions that drive quick-draw reactions. But the more they travel with current company, I think it might instill a critical hesitation of stand and fight vs. protect and flee. Cen hasn't told anyone about this. They might, if asked though.

secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

Y'know that's a good fucking question and I'm not sure I know the answer. I think, for now, the closest Cen comes to having a secret is maybe just being a bit shameful about how deeply anger lives in their blood. How easily they throw their wisdom to the wind in favor of indulging that anger.

what r ur thoughts on Jason dying his hair? either that idea that he's a natural red head who dyes it black for whatever reason. or maybe thoughts on dying it post resurrection?

So, originally in the old comics when they introduced Jason and basically tried to copycat Dick's story, but kept this in when they rewrote his story, Jason DID (have to) dye his hair black to look like Dick's hair.

I support that he is a natural red head who dyes his hair black cause he looked up to Dick when he was Robin.

I also believe that the white tuff is just from either bein resurrected by the Lazarus Pit or the insane amount of stress he was under (either that (the stress) be from crawlin out from his grave or Lazarus Pit).

We need more red head and black with white tuff Jason Todd.
