Jennifer “Jenny” Foxworth is a sweet rich girl in Foxworth family, becomes adoptive sister of Oliver. When she was born, she was under care of butler Winston and nanny Georgette as her parents were busy with their business. Because of being alone in house, she wished for a friend or younger sibling in home until she was told by parents that her maternal aunt has a child who could be her cousin and asked if she would want the cousin being part of the family, which she happily agreed.

One time, she was riding home by Winston pass the Central Park, she spotted Oliver and Fagin’s gang busking. Drawn to the boy’s singing, she asked when would he sing again and promised to watch him performing, thus beginning a friendship. Another day, when she saw him escaping from police, she let him in a car and asked if he could stay for a while to sing for her Birthday. Oliver reluctantly agreed as both become close friends. Noticing striking resemblance Oliver has with her aunt Agnes, Jenny asked her parents if the boy could be her cousin. Later, she was elated to learn that Oliver IS aunt Agnes’ son her family was looking for and become brother and sister, attending same school starting 1st grade helping him make friends as well.

As Jenny was still in after school curriculum, Oliver was first to take ride home but was taken back to Fagin’s barge. When returning home, she was alarmed to see no sign of Oliver at home, distressed as she decided to find him with help of Georgette. When she was kidnapped along with Oliver, she and Oliver were held hostage in different room as Sykes was on a phone with Winston in order to send message to Jenny’s parents about the children so they would see no choice but giving up their business to Edward “Monks” Leeford and pay the ransom for the children’s lives. Realizing that Edward plans to kill Oliver after the ransom was paid, Jenny and Fagin’s gang successfully gets Oliver out, but sadden to see Nancy severely injured at the stairway by Bill Sykes. Learning Fagin called police in attempt to apprehend the criminals, they take off from the warehouse but were chased after by Bill Sykes and his men. During the chase, Bill Sykes was killed in brutal traffic accident as Fagin successfully gets Oliver and Jenny in time to go to their parents who was about to give up their fortune and business to Edward. As Dodger and others exposed Edward’s crimes, the Foxworth Family decided to cut off any connections with him. She was frightened for Oliver’s life when Edward attempts to kill the boy, but surprised to see Mr. Leeford alive and stopped Edward from killing Oliver. Jenny was seen angrily glaring at Edward who’s till curses at Oliver while being arrested.

Along with Oliver, Jenny felt bad of Minerva who was shunned for her father Roscoe being a criminal, both decided to remain friends with her. Fortunately, Jenny invited her friends, Fagin and his gang, and other acquaintances in her birthday party. Later, she was seen clapping for Fagin and the gang who had just received a news that Mr. Leeford decided to recruit them all in his mansion to be used as boarding house for children who were in same underground orphanage as Oliver.

Were there any specific inspirations behind Mina (and your other Descendants OCs if you want to talk about them?) Any particular face-claims or actors you'd imagine cast as them?

No, I didn’t look at any actors or real people. I don’t think about that with any my OCs, I just picture how they look in my head like a character in a book and try to get that across through description. My process starts with a concept of their personality or backstory or role in canon or dynamics with other characters and I build their appearance from scratch to best suit the character. Face-claims just can’t capture the character as well to me. Picking one out would only be an extra step. I do imagine Mina having somewhat similar facial features to her father, like the strong jawline. It’s not perfect, but you can see the resemblance if you’re looking.

Mina’s concept actually takes a lot of inspiration from Oliver himself. Child has to survive in lonely, miserable circumstances without proper parenting or protection and many threats from their cramped urban environment and other inhabitants of it > child meets the leader of a lovable, sympathetic, underdog criminal gang, befriends them, joins the gang and earns their respect, finding new senses of belonging, pride and agency as they learn better how to make the best of having nothing > child is lifted out of these bad circumstances and taken in by Jenny Foxworth and also forms a close found family bond with her, ultimately choosing to live with her while maintaining their bond with their friends. Yeah. I thought that would be a fitting narrative for a character in a franchise so interested in legacy and history repeating and a nice affirmation that Mina truly is a Foxworth, not a Sykes, so she is following in the footsteps of her family - just not the family that those prejudiced against VKs would have thought. That irony is present in canon characters too: Jay has parallels to Aladdin, Evie to Snow White, Dizzy to Cinderella, Carlos to… a dog. To drive home that they’re good and their parents’ victims, not their parents. And from how she takes care of and plays with Oliver, Jenny would make such a good mother.

Minerva Pinscher, eventually Minerva Feathers, is a daughter and only child of Roscoe and Beatrice. Also, she is DeSoto’s uncle. Later, she become friends with Oliver and Jenny, attending same school. A year after Roscoe and Beatrice met through blind date, Minerva was born. As the marriage and forming a family was to cover the tracks of Roscoe’s criminal activities ordered by Sykes, Roscoe’s bliss of becoming a father was interrupted when Sykes sent them gifts of brand clothes for the baby as it was a figurative reminder to Roscoe to never let his guard down. And as additional “bonus” to celebrate Roscoe, Sykes took Roscoe to the bar where he could meet Rita who was a prostitute back then. Unbeknownst of these, Beatrice happily raised their daughter as Roscoe would be out working.

Though, there were many occasions Roscoe pampers Minerva with expensive gifts and would be taking his role as husband and father well, as a way to feel fulfilled with what he has gained; becoming wealthy, marrying attractive wife and have a lovely child. Turning five, Minerva was excited to be in first grade and was elated with new presents from her father as she wishes to be successful like him. Although Roscoe insists to raise her to be on top, Minerva’s kindness and gentle personality remains the same as she befriended Oliver and Jenny. She was confused of Roscoe’s behavior after introducing him her first friend Oliver. When her father asked if someone hit her or bullied her, she said no and added whoever done should be punished, causing her father to go speechless. However, as Roscoe recently spent more time with his family, he has become more genuine in caring for his wife and daughter, beginning to understand true abundance in life.

When Oliver and Jenny were absent, Minerva expressed concern as she wanted to visit Foxworth family, hoping to know if they were sick. Later, she overheard Nancy and the mothers’ conversation about their whereabouts and her father’s involvement in crimes, becoming disappointed and ashamed of her father. Before the trial as Roscoe asked to see his family one last time, Minerva sees him. She told him she heard everything, especially his abuse towards children round her age and said everyone in school hates or fears her because of him. When Roscoe attempted to explain, Minerva claimed she doesn’t want to be like him and doesn’t feel proud of him anymore—upset of how he truly felt of her and her mother, mistreating Oliver, and ruining their lives as she renounced him, breaking his heart even more.

Experiencing as social outcast, Minerva has become less cheerful as kids avoid her as the parents pitied her. However, Oliver and other friends remained friendly towards her, keeping their friendship intact. Witnessing her pain as outcast, Oliver felt angry for the first time towards Roscoe he lied to the imprisoned man and his brother that Minerva and her mother would be moving out of New York, devastating the abandoned man. Lately, Minerva has formed a new dream of becoming a hero to kids and people who suffer from any form of abuse and socially impaired environment.
