So a lot of people are confused as to how Epic Mickey Rebrushed meaning Disney probably isn't getting profits works, so let me explain real quick:

What's the Sitch?

If you go to the Steam Page, Disney is not publishing EM Rebrushed themselves like they did with the original EM games, another company ,THQ Nordic, whom Disney does not own is.

This likely means they sold the licensing rights to that company rather than accepting profit cuts.

How this works

Copyright holders often do this if they think the product would make less profits than what they sold the licensing rights for. For example, this happened with the author of the Witcher books, who thought the games would flop and sold the licensing rights instead of accepting a percentage of the profits. He later acted like the victim when the games actually ended up being wildly successful. This also happened to the writer of the American Pokemon Theme Song, who didn't know the Pokemon franchise was going to go on for decades and remain popular, though he was more chill about it and worked something out.

Basically, Disney likely had so little faith in the game, they chose to sell instead of accept profits, which would mean whether you buy or pirate the game wouldn't affect them, since they would have already gotten the agreed upon amount, and they'd probably piss themselves if the profits Purple Lamp gets is more than what they sold it for.

Would they actually do that?

For anyone who questions if Disney would really be dumb enough to do this, REMEMBER THIS IS THE COMPANY WHO:

SHUT DOWN AND ENTIRE VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT COMPANY JUST BECAUSE EPIC MICKEY 2 DIDN'T MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS EPIC MICKEY 1

THOUGHT PEOPLE WOULD ABANDON CONSOLE GAMING IN FAVOR OF MOBILE GAMING

THOUGHT KINGDOM HEARTS COULDN'T POSSIBLY HAVE SEQUELS

HAD A CEO WHO THOUGHT ADULTS DON'T ENJOY CARTOONS

AND THE MOST RECENT BLUNDER OF ALL, THOUGHT DISNEY FANS WOULD PREFER A LUMA KNOCKOFF OVER STARBOY IN WISH, BECAUSE THEY WANTED A MARKETABLE PLUSHIE

Yeah, I think they're that dumb.

Bottom Line

For those participating in the Disney boycott, it is probably safe to get the game, and will not be a breach of your boycott. Buying the game would instead show support to those who actually care about the game while not benefitting the company that abandoned it.

That being said, this is not guaranteed to be completely correct. Keep an eye on things as it develops, and make your own decisions on the matter.

I have to admit I never even imagined witches to be evil until I came here on tumblr and read some of y'alls analysis of literature and other media. The whole evil laugh and brewing potions did not connect to being evil in my mind ever. I was just raised with everyone around me thinking witches were cool as hell.

#my grandmother used to tell me that she was a witch and that her daughters and also me were ones too #and tbh i believed that bc she used to take the pain away with her magic #which was just her hovering her hand above the painful place #and istg it worked every time be it placebo or the #im not going to explain the neural pathways that make thermal and tactile sensations lessen the pain #but its a thing #and all my aunts liked witchy stuff #they made runes on pebbles by painting the sigil with a nailpolish on them #my grandmother also told the future by regular playing cards #i was taught the thing where you hold a necklace and ask a question and if it swings one way its yes the other - no #both my mom and grandmother have had at some point protective spells in their wallets #my grandmother always made a protective spell on us when we were leaving #i was taught to always greet and thank the mother of forest when going mushroompicking/collecting berries #me and my younger aunts (i had 5 year difference with the youngest) were always up to some weird stuff #like you know lighting a candle by the window and repearing a phrase to see how your fated one will look like #a lot of things in midsummer with flower crowns were done for luck or once again to predict the future #oh and the whole holding a metal object that started turning in your hand when you went above underground water junction #there were. a lot of things.#oh and we even collaborated with ghosts #and we had two completely black cats when i was little #and i remember i once found a part of an animal skull on the ground and i felt overjoyed #so yeah thats how i never even imagined witches could be evil #until late teens

If you feel up to it, care to ramble about things you like about Epic Mickey? Idk anything about it but you've gotten me intrigued 👀

YES ID LOVE TOO!!!

So Epic Mickey is a wii game, from around 2010i think? You use the wiimote and nunchuck to paint/thinner things in your way. Paint restores certain things made out of 'toon' (brightly colored) and thinner gets rid of it. You can thin or paint your enemies too, and there's also the three paths you can take

Thinner path is basically the evil path while Paint is the good path. There's littke side things in each 'level'. Quests, hidden chests, and secrets like concept art.

SPEAKIN OF THE ART

JUST. LOOK AT THIS!!!! ITS SO SO COOL! And seriously, if you're ok with melted creepy things I'd recommend looking up the concept art. It's just. Mwah!

The grimy dark atmosphere is perfect with the story. I dont want to spoil much, incase you want to check it out yourself. So. The Wasteland is a place where forgotten toons live, created by Yen Sid and ruled by Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. Oswald is Mickeys brother, created by Walt Disney (irl too! Oswald was one of Disney's first characters that he gave up before creating Mickey Mouse).

Mickey is pulled into the Wasteland after a Series of Unfortunate Events that he may or may not be at the fault of. After the Wasteland had a Thinner Disaster its been mostly reduced to rubble and broken theme parks. Mickey is determined to get home and fix the Wasteland as much as he can along the way, and maybe reunite with his brother.

There'd a LOT MORE I left out but seriously. It's great. It has a really good sequel too, Power of Two. (Its on steam/ps3. Epic Mickey is only on wii but it can be emulated I believe)

And last bit that I utterly ADORE is the MUSIC!! THE SOUNDTRACK!

JUST LISTEN TO THE OPENING THEME !!!! and the rest of the game has littke musical keys that go along with older Disney movies, it's incredible.

Seriously, check out the ost. It's haunting and well. Epic

Unfortunately Disney shut down Junction Point Studio after Epic Mickey Two didn't have the same sales as the first game, but there were plans to make a third. To bad Disney is a greedy moneysucking leech

Writing update for What We May Mend ✍🏽

We will be seeing Rhaenys, Corlys, and the rest of the Velaryon gang including my salty fave Ser Vaemond(and his sons) in the upcoming chapter🙌🏽

Alas, depending on where I spilt this chapter we may or may not see the Targtowers(I’ve got a lot planned for Alicent) and Rhaenyra(she doesn’t do much in this chapter whichever way I spilt it), and the boys 😬

i SO wish salmon run would give even a scrap of the catalogue levels that turf war and ranked. it takes like 3 times as long to complete a match on average assuming i even complete it its sooooooo unfair. let me have fun
