I feel like an Arthurian adaptation of Gannibal (the drama and the manga) with Lancelot and Gawain would work.

Lancelot is a cop with a troubled history, assigned to a rural village with its dark secrets. He's also a single dad who's struggling to raise Galahad. Thankfully, he has the support of his friendly, elderly neighbor Faye and superior Bedivere (who's married to a grumpy but helpful Kay)

Bedivere tells Lancelot to steer clear of the Orkneys, the town's oldest clan and rumored cannibals. And yet, Lancelot can't help but be drawn to the Orkney's eldest son -the mesmerizing, green-eyed Gawain.

Basically Lancelot smooches people he's not supposed to. And there's also dead people. Lots and lots of dead people.

Bonus: paranoid Pellinore whose son went missing years ago, and Mordred befriending Galahad at school. Also, creepy twins Gaheris and Gareth

Those tumultuous thoughts were ended soon enough when he’d realised he’d followed Ari and Gawain into the crowded valley. Fey lined all up the grassy verges, and the Ash were gathered in the trough.

He had not needed to hand over his blood this time. In fact he had said very little.

Causing a mumbled reaction, Ari announced him as leader of the Ash, and then his people came forwards with various flora from the forest in their hands. A little girl, one of only two, placed a daisy in his hair. In another life he would have shrunk with humiliation, but his lips had twitched and he'd smiled at her. She didn’t recoil or run from him. Her crimson fingertips reached up, not a great distance since he was kneeling, and poked at his tears before her mother drew her away.

That was the first moment when Lancelot recognised that no others bore the same marks as he did.

For the sole purpose of annoying his brother, Hector too placed something in Lancelot’s hair while smirking. Not a flower, but the ugliest leaf that he’d found on the forest floor. Squirrel snickered at that before Hanna tapped him upside the head.

Although Mertyl's transformation was a bit short to my taste, this was still a very heartwarming chapter and I'm glad to see the family issues being resolved .

This chapter has made one thing clear, King and Diane are amazing parents and Mertyl is a very good kid ( sorry for bashing you in the past 🤣💀 )

But I think the cat is outta the bag for Nasiens lol, look at his impassive face and the way Tioreh is staring at him . I think the boy is putting two and two together .

“Lancelot?” The man who had called him by his father’s name shuffled forwards, his brow pinching as he viewed him.

Lancelot swallowed convulsively. The patches of deep crimson beneath the man’s aged eyes were like Hector’s. It wasn’t possible. No others had survived. His throat went uncomfortably dry.

“By gods!" The man was overcome with recognition. "Lancelot, you are a man!”

The greying elder rushed forwards to him with his arms wide and welcoming but Lancelot stepped back, thrusting his hand out between them. The other palm ghosted over his sword instinctively in warning.

His eyes stung and his nose was stuffy. He did not know these people. All forty or so of them standing behind the one who’d called his name. But their discoloured fingertips and dark under-eyes said that he did. He had to.

They were Ash.
