Space Jam 2 Headcanons

Focusing on the filming here. [Also did you realise it's 25 minutes in until Bugs first makes an appearance!?]

For the scene when Lebron slams into a painted-on tunnel the real LeBron slammed into a sheet of glass to create the desired effect. A team took a picture of the result and drew him in toon form after that.

When Bugs and Lebron were first acting the barber scene, Bugs did actually put him in a chair and manoeuvre the chair. [Obviously he didn't make it break Lebron's spine though.] He did throw a hot towel on him [it was cold though, Lebron had to act like it was hot.]and he did give him a legitimate trim. [LeBron was thrilled and will go about telling anyone he has had his hair cut by Bugs Bunny.]

The scene were the Tunes Squads picture [in Marvin's spaceship] were malfunctioning was actually ad-libbed. Of course Bugs and Lebron weren't actually in Marvin's spaceship, it was a set, but Marvin generously loaned them the controls of his old spaceship. In hindsight Bugs should have asked what the issue was. It malfunctioned and kept duplicating information. Unplugging it was the only way to stop it. [What you can't see is an off-screen Marvin holding up a sign that says 'Unplug it, you damn rabbit!']. Lebron [who was on the set] also did notice, but when they were animating it the crew decided it was funnier if he was oblivious.

The train scene with the Tunes was filmed in one take. Lebron added in after. The only other thing missing was the orphanage [just in case...].

First of all - the Mad Max scene? I didn't realise Nasty Canasta was there as well as Wile.E + Roadrunner! Also that Segway Wile.E was riding afterwards was totally nicked from the set.

There was a debate about the Austin Powers scene with Elmer and Sylvester. They were going to show Bugs trying to recruit the two. Sylvester would have been only to happy to leave, Elmer would have needed a bit more persuading. It was dropped for time reasons.

Rick and Morty were adlibbed. They had a protective screen above the scene of Marvin's spaceship which they threw Taz onto.

The Matrix scene with Granny and Speedy was cleverly planned. The human actor was a professional stunt man, and Granny really did kick him through a few walls. And of course Speedy really did outrun a speeding bullet. [He had to do it a few times actually cos he kept going SO fast they couldn't film it.]

After the above scene Lebron was scripted to make another disparaging remark about Granny and Speedy, but found himself unable to, so he just ended up saying Hi to them instead. What can he say? It's Granny!

'Sam, shoot the ball!' Perfectly improvised as was the following training montage. Again they used the set of Marvin's ship with Lebron actually on set. So his 'Where did she get the ramp?' [In regards to Granny's epic stunt] was genuine. The only rule was 'Don't touch Lebron.' [Warner Bros 'Trust us - we can't afford the lawsuit!']

You can see that Sylvesters lips don't move when he says [Come back here you!] after Tweety threw the yarn. His voice actor dubbed it in after. [Another reason why the tunes have voice actors]

Foghorn hitting Elmer was planned and the hunter had time to brace himself. [Needed to do Toon stunts.]

As was the door to Marvin's spaceship falling over and hitting Marvin himself on the head.

When they were back in Toon World, the toons were back to acting the whole 'Square splitting open' scene. They acted like they thought they would in such a situation. So yes, Wile.E and Roadrunner hugged, Foghorn picked up Granny [She's designed to be old and Foggy simply didn't want to risk it.] Speedy saved Tweety [who was genuinely paralysed.] There were a few more like Gossamer picking up Elmer [A similar situation as with Tweet, he froze up.] and Sylvester had a brief moment of looking for his son before he remembered he was acting. [Cut both because it didn't make sense and it was a bit disturbing.]

The bit when the rest of the WarnerBros properties ran to watch the game was achieved by a mix of CGI'ing the CGI characters in afterwards and getting some of the paint-and-ink toons to really run in. It was chaos to film, took no less than 100 shots to get all the characters they wanted and overwhelmed several of the LT's.

The Goon Squad were CGI when playing in the game, so all the Toons were acting against thin air. So when Sylvester was trapped in the spiders web, he was actually suspending himself in mid air, with the web added in later.

The scene where Cronus messes with Lebron by putting a pirate hat on him ext was subbed by Daffy Duck. So Daffy was putting the pirate hat on him. Cronus was CGI, so wasn't actually there, but they needed someone to mess around with Lebron in real time. A few of the toons were hesitant because it's Lebron James, but Daffy? He didn't care.

Yes, Michael B Jordan did get to meet the Looney Tunes and his bit was also improvised. He was wondering about Warner Bros in connection to something unrelated and Sylvester found him and came up with the gag. So Lebron's, Daffy and Elmer's reaction was genuine.

Wile.E had to be careful when setting up the train gag. It couldn't hit Tweety or any other Tunes. Again he had a toon stand in for the CGI player, which in this case was Roady. This was because Roady was the only Toon who could be relied upon to outrun a speeding train. [Ok, maybe Speedy could have as well, but Roady was easier to see.]

It might seen odd that within the movie Lebron asked Porky to rap, and believe me he had his doubts, but the producers had already cleared it. Porky wrote the rap himself, mainly so he knew he'd be able to say it.

The Wile.E cloned bit was a mistake [it was just meant to be the balls going through the net, not the coyote] but [of course!] it went wrong and it was decided it was such a Wile.E/Toon thing that it was to good not to keep in.

When it was Granny's turn to go against Cronus she couldn't resist using the walker for effect. In this bit Cronus was also portrayed by Speedy [It wasn't Daffy because he had a bit of dialogue at the beginning of Granny's scene.]Speedy [and Roadrunner] were the main two who could play Cronus's game-play style convincingly. Also, what with Speedy being incredibly short, she could leap over him with hardly any effort. When the animators saw how high Granny could jump, they animated Cronus around it. Also when Granny 'aged-up' Cronus, Speedy had no issue acting as if he was 132.

After that when they were celebrating all the hugging and stuff was improvised based on how they felt in the moment. Hey, if you've got to hug someone you've got to hug them! [or elbow-bump them in Bugs and Elmer's case.]

Don Cheadle just stood in the middle of the court while he was transforming. They had to act terrified. [or at least vaguely unnerved.]

The entire slow motion thing was filmed using toon powers. Daffy subbed in as Dom and Wile.E as Lebron. Dom played himself, but of course had nothing to throw as that was added in after.

I think I already headcannoned about Bugs's deleting step, so I'll leave that alone for now.

The after credits were fun to film. Yes, the tunes visited LeBrons house. [That's where the pool scene is from.]Sylvester and Tweety did try out skateboarding [the scene shown is shot just before Sly crashed] Tax and Gossamer managed to ride the bikes for a bit, but ended up over-balancing and falling off. They couldn't resist having a golfing pick as a call-back to the first film. Yes, Yosemite and Elmer tried Yoga. Elmer was better at it than Yosemite. Sam couldn't get his mind in the zone enough.

a couple of Marvin headcanons I thought of

-due to a day on mars is 24 hours,37 minutes and 22 seconds. Marvin always has severe jet lag and very weird sleeping patterns compared to earthings.

-Marvin is also surprisingly allergic to a lot of earth foods or get stomach issues whenever he eats any. His safe earth foods are potato salad and peanut butter.

-he also used to break out in random hives when he first started visiting earth.

Looney Tunes headcanon time!

I've been thinking about this for a while so now I gotta share it on here!

Bugs Bunny doesn't get mad easily. That's just how he's wired. Calm, collected, level-headed, usually pretty relaxed, lazily strolling down the street while humming a merry melody (eh?), he prefers to chill and doesn't really take anything seriouslly.

A Warner Bros. intern messed something up, be it accidentaly or because he was a careless idot? Bugs doesn't even flinch and immediately finds a way to fix whatever it is.

A student at Acme Looniversity is goofing around way too much during a lesson? All Bugs has to do is give him a look and the child stops at once, but he never raises his voice or loses his temper.

One of his enemy messes with him? Pfff, are you kidding? That's the most fun he's gonna have all week!

Even when he gets irritated by one of them, he doesn't actually get mad mad and he certainly doesn't hate them (he's too cool for that). It's more of an "oh, he interrupted my peaceful afternoon? now i'll have to fuck his entire shit up" kind of thing. He might be mildly annoyed in the beginning but by the time he starts plotting the poor soul's demise, his irritation is long gone. His motivation is rather the principle of "don't mess with me" rather than anger.

Sometimes Bugs will fake being mad to get his point across (to scare people, usually a nemesis or a student), but again, he's not really angry, he's just exaggerating.

However, and this is where my headcanon comes in, this doesn't mean that sometimes Bugs Bunny doesn't get pretty fucking MAD.

Like I said, it's very hard to get him at that point. But when he gets there oh, Lord have mercy! And it's not what people (who have obviously never seen him in that state) might think.

He doesn't shout. He doesn't get physical. He doesn't throw a tantrum. If he does any of those then again, he's not really mad. He either does it for comedic effect or to intimidate. No. It's much more unsettling than that.

Instead, he just goes quiet. And not the usual relaxed, watching-shit-go-down-from-the-sidelines quiet. Oh, no. He's rigid as a statue. His upbeat expression is replaced by one of pure coldness. No condecending smirk, no smug look, no playfullness in his eyes. Just a motionless face with an icy stare.

If Bugs speaks when he's like this he doesn't raise his voice. He doesn't need to. Instead, his tone is serious but surprisingly... calm. Not relaxed like it usually is, but more like... even. Controlled. Firm. There is a slight strain in his voice as if he's doing his best to hold back the greatest rage someone has ever seen (because he is).

If he does this to anyone then that person/toon will most likley shit their pants. Because they know, oh, they know they fucked up big time if Bugs Bunny acts that way towards them.

Whenever he's like this literally everyone is scared of him. Toon or human, doesn't matter, if Bugs is this angry YOU STAY OUT OF HIS WAY.

No one messes with him, not Elmer, not Sam, not Wile, not Marvin, not any of his enemies, no Acme Loo student, no WB intern, even the executives are nervous around him if he's like this. Even Daffy, who gets a kick out of pushing Bugs' buttons every time, is nope-ing himself out of that situation so hard. Like nope. Not today. Nuh-uh. He wants to live, thank you very much.

I feel like I should mention that Bugs isn't cold hearted though. Even if he is in this state he will not be a prick to people who have done nothing wrong or to the ones he cares about. He realizes it's not their fault.

He might be a little distant but it's just because he wants to be left alone to calm down. The others know and understand and will leave him to cool off.

Again, though, he doesn't get this angry that often. In all his life he's probably been like this like three or four times (which is very rare given that he's been around since like what? the 40s? but even if it's happened only a few times it was enough to earn him the reputation of being really damn scary when pushed to far).

Also, he's never ever like that because of a Looney Tune or an Acme Loo student or anyone he cares about. If you are part of the aforementioned categories then it's damn near impossible to get Bugs to be that mad at you. Annoyed? Sure. Angry? Sometimes, yeah. But never mad like that.

No. This type of rage is reserved for a special breed of people. The ones that have crossed Bugs big time, that have done something really messed up.

What makes this so scary for the others witnessing it, even if it's not aimed at them, is the fact that it's so different compared to the way Bugs usually acts. Like, he's almost unrecognizable. Besides, the rabbit is pretty powerful given his whole WB mascot gig thing. He can rock your entire world with just a snap of his fingers.

How does teleportation work for the toons off-camera? Are there limits to it?

Hi! Sorry for taking forever to answer this - I've had a really bad bout of writers block recently. I'm even struggling to finish my fanfictions. Maybe one shots are the way forward.

Anyway, your ask:

Yes, there are limitations to it...depending where you are. So in Toontown as well as the Disney and Warner Bro's buildings, no limits. A toon can move in a flash from one end of the town to another [even to a country if they really wanted], and it's frequent in Toontown to see people just...appear in front of you.

Quite a lot of conflicts happen because of that though - toons appearing in front of one another and causing collisions - so there's police patrolling through the Towns to break fights up.

I should point out they don't teleport all the time though. It requires a lot of concentration/effort on behalf of the toon [A bit like running for us] so if they can get a bus or drive, so toons do that. Also if you're a Toon who has wings or an invention that is basically flying, then they tend to use those.

In the buildings, the Toons need to be a bit more aware - there's more Humans walking around and they tend to get startled by Toons suddenly appearing in front of them, so if the toons are going to teleport they tend to either do it in Toon-heavy places like the lunch-hall, or to get to a filming session quickly are where Humans tend to expect teleporting a bit more. [The directors are especially resigned to the fact at least one of the toons will appear in front of them , wearing a directors outfit and yelling 'Action!' as a joke.]

Away from Toontown and the buildings, Teleportation is a bit frowned-upon because you'll startle people. The toons understand this to a degree, most of them don't want to harm people so the idea of popping up in front of a old Human lady and giving her a heart attack tends to put them off teleporting, but there are some toons who resent it.

This is mitigated by the fact that most toons DON'T wonder around outside of Warner Bros/Disney because of the risk of either getting kidnapped [this applies especially to the more popular toons, sure they could easily teleport away, but that requires effort and really in this case, prevention is bettor than the cure.] or into some sort of situation and expected to use their toons powers to help out. [Toon powers tend to take concentration or at least a relatively calm mind. The more stressed out a toon is, the more chance their is of something going wrong.]

Aside from the social side though, they can only really go about ten football fields away from wherever they are, they can't teleport from England to Ireland for instance. [Or from Florida to Georgia.] This is why if the toons go abroad outside of toontown, they have to use Human transportation. [Unless they're lucky enough to have super-speed like Speedy, Roadrunner or The Flash, or wings.] And no, Bugs can't burrow through non-Toon soil. It's to tough.

Welcome to the club, Marvin.

I mean, he's very relatable to me as an autistic and aroace boy. I even run like him due to being hyperactive, when I'm just walking then I just start running, I used to say that I ran like a Peanuts' character

I got to know him better while developing my hyperfixation in Looney Tunes, starting with The Looney Tunes Show. I loved how Bugs and Lola has a "love song", Daffy sings a song about how it feels to be in love using Tina as his reference (as talking about giant sirens and giant robots but even so), Speedy has a song trying to advice Porky to have a girlfriend and, meanwhile, Marvin has a song about how his heart is crumbling to pieces for feeling betrayed about his laser beam not turning on anymore. He even says that he never felt closer to anyone in his life; I know this song was supposed to be funny or something like that but I did relate because I feel more and more distant from people and the feeling is that I bond more with fictional characters or objects (mainly books), I was ashamed of admitting that but Marvin just got me the feeling that it's alright and it isn't something to be ashamed off. And it warmed my heart. By the way, when I was younger I remember saying as a joke that I was an alien because it was my way of comforting myself for feeling wrong and out of place with people in general, btw I even had an oc based on me that was an alien as well to comfort me even more. And Marvin is a martian-

I'm obsessing over Marvin and the massive comfort he is currently bringing to me; as more as I'm searching and founding out more stuff about him, the more relatable he feels to me and this is a wonderful feeling. I felt out of place for a huge part of my life, and he makes me feel that it's okay to be different and that we can be different together

I started noticing this stuff yesterday, and yesterday was my birthday so it was a very meaningful birthday gift from the universe to me to my mind. It made this whole stuff even more significant.

(By the way we both are intjs 5w6 choleric-melancholic, I grew out of thinking mbti is a big deal but I will definitely make this specific fact the biggest deal ever, i mean it has to be a sign!)

I'm currently in my flop era but I'm so comfortable with this post which I wrote with my heart so open that I won't even mind if it flops tbh

Edit/PS.: another happy coincidence is that here in Brazil where I'm from he's voiced by my FAVORITE brazilian voice actor. The one that made me realize that I liked doing different voices when I was still a child, helping me figuring out my dream of being a voice actor someday. Yay. Marvin is almost too good to actually exist as a character

Here are a few bugs bunny headcanons bc why the hell not I love him with my life .

This is so random but I hc that bugs' "real" full name is Benjamin Eike Warner.

And uh, the reason for that is, Benjamin was the name of one of his first directors and apparently, they jotted down the name as "Bugs' bunny" (bc he didn't have a name, and bugs was a shortening for the name Benjamin back then) and people just interpreted that as bugs bunny and it stuck.

I think he's a good bit German (for ltrly no rsn, it just makes sense in my head for some reason) and Eike is a German name that means powerful or cunning. So yeah.

And Warner, because he's the mascot of warner brothers and I interpret that as warner brothers being like his parents. Ig??

I think the name bugs bunny is the persona he made up for tv and overtime everyone including the people he's close to started calling him bugs instead of Benjamin. Think of it as everyone believing his made up mask to be his real true self to the point of forgetting who 'Benjamin' was.

(and ofc tie in the headcanon that daffy calls bugs Ben or Benjamin sometimes. Maybe even... Take that as a symbolism.. for daffy being the only one..to you know see through his ruse..I don't know......maybee??)

Another headcanon that he was a pianist, as in, a performer at one point. And that he still is, like, really good at piano.

speaking on that, there's a shelf with books on the far right so yeah. i think he'd also read manga bc of his anime complex. he may also keep some sort of CDs ? maybe vinyls ???

i had to include all four shots bc he is a sleepwalker/runner LOOK AT HOW CUTE HE IS ;U;

it looks like he sleeps in a casket-like bed (hence, the lid is open top centre) I believe he only has this open when he's awake so idk who forgot to close it. it needs to be closed so that when rev does actually get up and sleepwalks, he's contained. the last thing the loonatics want to wake up to is the house completely trashed bc rev had a dream he was running from something. so casket bed it was.

that's also why. he doesn't sleep with sheets. if he trips and falls oh lord. therefore he wears super warm pjs in the winter to not freeze to death

he's got a ton of books, rightfully so, I think he and tech would share this bookcase because it would have different manuals, blueprints and miscellaneous mechanical guides. robot guides. that too. i also think rev would be that person who re-reads his childhood books over and over again and not get sick of them ever

there is also a treadmill in this room I just know it

I kind looked forward into the ep and there's a smidge of the bedroom in a frame but idk what the other shit could be

but I know his room is very clean. it's SPOTLESS. everything is organized and well put together.

he shares it with lexi since she's the only lady in the house :) ain't no way she shares with the boys.

the others share the other bathroom. one more gets installed later but the other four are SOL
