I love the 2016-2017 Disney Princesses comics because they are very cute, quite funny and pretty, add a few cute good lore elements, and have characters bond

Notably it has Merida and her ex suitors having become friends after the movie's events which is adorable. None wanted marriage and she didn't want to put aside her tomboyish personalities they were allowed to have, so they all bonded over those as the clans made peace. That's adorable

I also love the balance of consistency (Wee Dingwall is not stupid. He just has a resting high face especially when he is not happy to be there or doing that. And these strips understood that) and evolution (none used to understand Young MacGuffin now they do and just "translate" for us readers, they all used to be shocked and embarrassed Merida was superior to them now they gladly accept it and try to better themselves and show off to her not an unfriendly way, Wee Dingwall speaks more and even though Young MacIntosh is still proud and boasts a lot and still tries to impress the archery expert as if he would teach her anything, it no longer, he no longer seems to fit as many tantrums as before, mock or look down on others, seeing teens his age and a girl who not only is not a trophy for once in his life but a genuine friend as well as someone who had him and the others open their eyes about this arranged marriage thing, he became slightly more humble and seems to still be working on it and heading towards the right way. As for Merida herself, who used to roast and mock them with her dad, now she is more at peace now that they no longer pose a threat to her future and so became helpful, supporting and even when she makes fun it is more light hearted than anything and she aknowledges when they do good (such as no matter how shitty his desmonstration had been Young MacIntosh DID do a bullseye) and is no longer annoyed but amused or concerned about their antic

But my favorite strip is this one for everything is implies and the lore details and potential it gives, especially for how much the movie is about parent-child relationships

The fact they all agreed to camp together and their parents agreed implying the clans are closer than ever and them, future clan leaders, will be closer than ever for having hunted together, fought together and camped around a fire in the middle of nowhere together in their youth

The confirmation Merida isn't/wasn't (it seems to take place after the movie but I guess even if the bond was mended and Elinor now accepts her daughter's tastes and opinions she still must expect her to keep practicing stuff essential for a Lady's future, or a compromise Merida accepts to do now they understand each other even if she doesn't like it) the only one to have to follow strict royal lessons but they all did which puts even more into perspective their roles in the movie and why they approved her choice

The implication that either the Lords are like Elinor at home being more up to the rules, serious and strict than Fergus and just being feral once together as men OR it has to do with gender and the mothers have to be like that to their daughters and so do the fathers to their sons

And the most boring tasks the dads give them have to do with their (dads' and/or sons') traits : Lord MacIntosh is very proud of his lineage and genes (he prides themselves in having the most beautiful hair) so he demands for his proud son to be proud for something useful for once such as about his own family heritage, Lord MacGuffin tries (enhance tries, that's not really how you help but he tries) to have his son more confident and more eloquent as a future leader who will have to be heard and understood by his people in his court or in battle, and then you have Lord Dingwall who just has his son do chores for him, which works with how bossy he is and how it must be his definition of making someone responsible, as well as how the Dingwalls seem to be more practical than show since whereas they are mocked for jist having a rock as sigil, it is a much better weapon than a caldron or a lyre and goes straight to the point without needless symbolism therefore chores must be more important for him in life for a leader than anything else

I am obviously overanalyzing some points, but these go perfectly with my HCs

so in wave!verse im assuming (from the vague cass and damian mentions) that everyone gets involved in batfam shenanigans one way or another, but since the age order seems to be intact, what do you imagine dick is up to in this universe? is he living his best circus life? was he unceremoniously blasted to another dimension? does he simply not exist?

jklsjdf so Cass was always in this verse for me as StephCass endgame, and I came really close to having the epilogue be told from a modern day Duke's POV (2023 We Are Robin reporting for duty o7). I decided on Damian after realizing how incredibly funny it would be. He probably makes a ~2006 debut, and either he ruins Jason's life or Jason ruins his life. Those were all designed individually. I liked the idea of having the story focus around the "Outsider Robins" (Jason, Steph, and Damian), and put the spotlight on the characters who are just a little less palatable. And for the more straight laced characters to have their opportunity to go bugfuck. So a) it would be mean not to fit Dick in, and b) this is an opportunity to go really weird with Dick.

We Are Robin is a comics plotline/event/thing that's really good, it's about Duke leading an army of random teenagers to all take up the mantle of Robin and lead organized action against the forces of evil/grown-ups/gentrification. I think Dick is a natural born leader, is very frustrated from being barred from his superhero dreams (he is nine), and needs to garner as much attention and cause as much trouble as physically possible. One thing leads to another.

So: Dick does exist. I don't think he becomes Robin (he is nine, and by the time he's old enough he's already mobilized an army of Robins and the whole thing seems a little moot). I do think he starts the #WeAreRobin hashtag and increases Gotham teen delinquency/activism rates by 500%. I do think Dick is both an openly Rich Kids of Instagram influencer and a stealth #Robin influencer who organizes masses of delinquent children around Gotham to take up arms and fight for their homeland. He picks up a truly impressive and increasingly improbable graffiti habit, conducts stealth warfare against the ruling class (hypocritically), and annoys the Riddler to death. He is intensely likable and uses this power exclusively for evil. He gets kidnapped a truly impressive number of times and makes everybody regret it. Damian is, somehow, always put in charge of babysitting him. Damian would have assumed that it would be easier to prevent a nine year old from conducting civil disobedience and some light domestic terrorism. He would be wrong. Dick protests that he only held the mayor hostage a little. Bruce is terrified of Dick. Damian wonders why he is the only one who doesn't scare Bruce.

I think at some point people need to realize there vilifying a disorder in general rather than reacting to past abuse. I notice a lot of people will say they get super uncomfortable with specific diagnoses. But like, I feel like there's a point to where it becomes a witch hunt or inability to see any "grey". I know if I reblog anything and the url has borderline mentioned somewheres I'll generally get an anon, a person requesting I tag anything about bpd because they have trauma and the person who gave them trauma has bpd, so seeing any mentions of bpd highly triggers them / makes them recall there trauma. & again I would understand this if the posts were tough, or specifically mentioned borderline. (Meaning I'd understand the request but I still won't tag) But I've noticed its to the point if the url just mentions bpd. & The post itself doesn't even mention mental health. Like "Cats are the sweetest creatures on the planet" because OP's url mentions bpd now its about borderline personality disorder and said anon is triggered & upset (Which again I do understand. being triggered into an emotional state isn't fun. Its distressing. But please, Log out / get off your phone. Do grounding. Do something to cope so you can come back and unfollow/block.) and is requesting a tag because the url mentions a disorder they have discomfort in / unprocessed trauma with. (I also don't reply to these cause I do recognize people are in high emotions when upset. & there is no point in fueling a back and forth. So I do ignore, but it doesn't mean I don't see these messages and feel confused by them. Cause I don't often look at urls when I reblog from people.) I just really wish people would realize there is a point to where they are vilifying people with a already really stigmatized diagnose. (Still) & a really complex diagnose that often times have trauma coupled with it too. But yeah this general messages really do irk me/ make me feel uncomfortable. & I do feel like there is this generalized vilification of bpd. & it makes me really sad.

IT LITERALLY WAS A TORTURE FOR HOW MUCH THEY PULLED OUT PLOT TWISTS AND PLOT TOOLS OUT OF THEIR ASS AND HOW THE NEW GELFLING CHARACTERS WERE WASTED AND BORING AND USELESS, REALLY ONLY THE FIRELING ARC WAS DECENT AND EVEN IT WAS BORING BUT NOT TO THE POINT OF NEEDING MUCH FANON CHANGES, BUT THE GELFLING PARR HOLY HELL WAS IT CLICHÉ AND BAD, WHILE POTDC IS NOT THAT GOOD I KINDA LIKE IT BECAUSE I STILL HAVE A SENSE OF NOSTALGIA FROM THE MOVIE AND IT REMINDS ME A SPECIFIC HAPPY PERIOD OF MY LIFE BUT THIS ?
