Das Team: Lamine Cisse, Jan Velkoborsky, Michael Zepek, Darko Anic, Musemestre Bamba, Christian Mikolajczak, Stefan Fengler, Petar Djenic, Petar Vasiljevic, Everaldo Batista, Gledson, Sebastian Bönig, Zeljko Sopic, Reinhold Daschner, Marc Arnold, Patrick Dama, Krystian Prymula, Cyrille Bella, Marcus Feinbier, Marcel Rath, Samuel Ipoua, Ferhat Cerci, Maikel Renfurm, Tim Gorschlüter, Michael Rösele und Chiquinho.

Dmitry Aliyev - 98.98 The 4Lz+3T was so solid it was amazing. The jumps along with the music work well. He’s really got the character of the music down.
Patrick Chan - you are more than dust in the wind! 3A his mortal enemy. But the edges were so buttery smooth. And his opening 4T was gorgeous.
Keiji Tanaka - 80.05 - 4S bad fall sliding into the boards. He landed the 3Lz+3T, and landed the 3A. No pops, so I’ll take it!
Alexei Bychenko - 84.13 - 3A was beautiful, 4T was a bit off on the landing but held on well, 3Lz+3T good. It was such a spirited program.
Deniss Vasiljevs- 79.52 - 3Lz+3T, 3A rough fall. That last spin is such a trip I love the positions so much.

I'm my book "This is Achillean" I wanted to make sure that the main characters are very flawed, but you still want to root for them.
For example, Patrick is Entitled and Snobbish. This makes sense as he comes from money and fame. However, he is still nice to others and is a good boyfriend to Ambrose. Balancing out his flaws.
Ambrose on the other hand is nice, talented and has humility. However, he can be a little insensitive by always cracking jokes, he uses his immense power to get what he wants, and has bad anger issues (which will be explored in later chapters).
This applies to secondary characters to a lesser degree, such as Dimitri and Shinsuke.
A MODERN ADAPTATION OF THE ILLIAD!

Hi! Thank you for running this blog; I greatly enjoy your commentary. I'm trying to get my friend into figure skating, and I was wondering if you have any favorite programs that you think I should show her. Thank you :)
Whee, this is going to be an extremely very long list if you let me run completely wild and free, so let’s first make sure I set down some perimeters. So, I’m going to list only single programs, and I’m going to focus on programs which I think are easily accessible, i.e., the ones you can enjoy regardless of your level of comfort with the technical details, and I’m going to limit my picks to performances from the last Olympic cycle, though I will be sneaky and include Sochi / WC14 in the mix, because I consider it my constitutional right to recommend:
Carolina Kostner’s SP Ave Maria || Olympic Winter Games 2014
Tumblr media
Mao Asada’s FS Piano Concerto No.2 || Olympic Winter Games 2014
Tumblr media
and
Mao Asada’s SP Nocturne in E-flat major || World Championships 2014
Tumblr media
Moving on, in chronological order:
Yuzuru Hanyu’s FS Seimei || Grand Prix Final 2015 (duh)
Tumblr media
Satoko Miyahara’s SP Firedance II World Championships 2016
Tumblr media
Javier Fernández’s FS Guys and Dolls || World Championships 2016
Tumblr media
Patrick Chan’s SP Dear Prudence / Blackbird || World Championships 2017
Tumblr media
Yuzuru Hanyu’s SP Ballade No.1 in G minor || Olympic Winter Games 2018
Tumblr media
Evgenia Medvedeva’s FS Anna Karenina || Olympic Winter Games 2018
Tumblr media
Carolina Kostner’s SP Ne Me Quitte Pas || World Championships 2018
Tumblr media
That’s from the veterans (I’m not implying Satton and Yuzu and Zhenya are that old but, well, you guys know what I mean). From the new generation, I’d nominate, from last season:
Polina Tsurskaya’s SP Light of the Seven || NHK Trophy 2017
Boyang Jin’s SP Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon || Four Continents Championships 2018
Kaori Sakamoto’s FS Amélie || Four Continents Championships 2018
Deniss Vasiljevs’ FS Put the Blame on Mame / Anyone to Love / Sway || World Championships 2018 (to make sure we end this list on an absolute pick-me-up of a program)

Which do you think are the best artistic male skaters right now? Patrick chan is my favorite skater ever, but hs retiring and i have a void to fill. My favorites to watch right now are Rippon (maybe hes retiring as well :c), Vasiljevs and Aliev, but id like to hear what do you have to say.
Thanks for asking!
For me Jason Brown is one of the most artistic skaters in the world, and certainly the most artistic man the US currently has (unless…*looks longingly for a Joshua comeback*).
Vasiljevs certainly has lots of promise. If you’re looking for the future, I think Donovan Carrillo (Mexico) could become quite the artist - obviously he’s still very young. And Kazuki Tomono from Japan has a really special quality about his skating that I enjoy.

The men of figure skating: heading into the 2017-2018 season
Once upon a time, in a frosty February day in 2010, Evgeni Plushenko was standing unimpressed on the second step of the podium. He had come to win his second consecutive Olympic gold and become the first figure skater to do so since Dick Button. But as he was standing on the second step of the podium, an orange bro whose name was Evan came and sh00k his hand and climbed on the highest step. Little did the orange bro know that his stunt at that competition (not attempting any quads at all due to a stress fracture sustained in the previous season) would give birth to what we call today the quad generation. Evgeni would have probably sold his soul to Putin the devil just so he could finally play with the kids he’s been looking for all his life. So here we are in the eve of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, the top 6 men can execute at least two different types of quads and Yuzuru Hanyu will probably never retire unless he lands the 4A in competition, the only quad (4 and a half revolutions) that has never been landed before and will probably never continue to be landed on a regular basis due to the difficulty and increased injury risk. Unlike the ladies field, the men have the “big 6″ who are very likely to lock the first 6 positions at the Olympics and then there’s the rest. I will focus on these 6 skaters under the cut and make a list of other skaters to look out for because ice is slippery and you never know.
