Hello! I see you like Ozpin! 👀 What's your opinion on dadpin?
I'm personally not the biggest fan of it honestly 😅. I understand why people latch on to it and like the idea, but Oscar and Oz's relationship never felt that way to me. It felt less like father and son and more so "eccentric uncle and exasperated nephew."
Additionally, I feel like the fandom was ignoring what Oscar and Oz's actual relationship was like in favor of fanon. Again, I get why people love the concept so much but I remember seeing so many posts and fanfiction playing with the idea that Oscar missed Oz but I could never really get behind because they didn't have that strong of a relationship. Even before Oz locked himself away in Oscar's mind, he and Oz weren't that close yet. At best Oscar has started tolerating Oz but they weren't all buddy-buddy. I honestly felt incredibly validated when Oscar told Oz that he didn't miss him because that actually checks out with how their relationship had been illustrated by that point.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though now because of the events of volume 8, it seems like Oscar and Oz are starting to form an actual friendship with each other, which I do like.

So how do you interpret Willow reaction to Hunter taste in fashion? Does she not realize that the fashion is bad or when it comes to Hunter, everything just looks good on him to her?
oh she is irredeemable, she finds his awful fashion charming and cute

I feel like Callum or Rayla go to move if they ever see the other getting hit on is to go their partner and act very romantic to get the point across that they're already taken.
You’re absolutely right. Complete with a well-placed withering glare at the would-be suitor as they swoop their beloved into a passionately romantic kiss.

Miraculous Ladybug really has a major problem of giving the illusion that things are progressing. Like they'll do things to make it seem like the show status quo is changing only for in the long run, not a lot of things change.
The heroes get power ups? Barely uses them.
A bunch of Miraculous Heroes are choosen? The show doesn't even bother exploring these new heroes having to struggle balancing a double life like Adrien and Marinette nor do we see them form bonds with their kwamis (seriously, having the heroes be temporary is frankly dumb since you think you would want as many heroes as possible given how many Akuma attacks there are).
Alya learns that Marinette is Ladybug? it changes thing slightly but not enough to have a lasting impact (and makes moments such as Alya falling for Lila lies at the end of season 4 even more fustrating).
Adrien learns that Nino, his best friend is Carapace? Nothing is done with that.
And that's not even getting started on the snail pace progression of the love square.
Very long ask so I'll be hiding my reply under the cut so this isn't too much to scroll by
Yeah, most development in mlb is either walked back on, forgotten, or purposefully ignored. And it's not like this is some sort of intentional in-universe reason to show character regression. It's moreso the show trying to force specific narratives, even if it doesn't line up with where the characters should be, knowledge and development-wise.
For example, an episode like Animaestro, with its plot of Marinette teaming up with Chloe to sabotage Kagami, shouldn't have occurred after an episode like Frozer, where Marinette decides to put aside her feelings to help Adrien on his date with Kagami. Or another example where specific characters are left out of plotlines because the knowledge they hold could break their desired narrative into pieces (absence of Alya and Su-han in Kuro Neko, absence of Viperion in Strike Back).
Miraculous Ladybug is... well pardon the pun... miraculously amazing at acting like things are changing, that there's drama, that there's stakes. But you look at the show in its entirety and all its really been doing is going around the same circle. The LS still can't move past shallow affection, no progress has been made towards finding the villain (despite the fact that they HAVE information that could easily lead them to the villains identity) and he's only become more powerful, any other character that isn't the main duo or HM eventually find themselves getting screwed over writing-wise for the Love Square. (Though the main duo and HM are screwed over in that department too, it's just more painful with the rest of the cast)
If the cast of this show was ALLOWED to change and grow, to not be puppeteered into specific instances that don't line up what we previously have seen of them, then yes I'd believe there is development in this show. But there's none; you're right in calling it an illusion, because any possible development, even the SMIDGES of it, are eventually erased, as though it was imaginary to begin with. And somehow people eat that up, probably because this show just gives you nothing that you'll take the scraps. That's just sad 😮‍💨
As an aside: I always HATED the temporary hero rule. For me, it was one of the greatest upholders of this status quo yo bs mlb is stuck in. Because, since they're not permanent, they can only exist for a fleeting moment, and then continue on not affecting the plot. I get it I get that this show is gonna be Ladybug and Chat Noir, but maybe don't introduce the idea of other heroes if you wanna be oh so focused on your main two heroes. Then again, I personally wish there was a third permanent hero (the Alya stuff in s4 was poorly executed it could've been neater in an earlier season, not after s3 where she devolved to only shill for the LS) because it would've been a neat way to shake up the status quo in the long run and not be walked back on.

Favorite Ash ship?
I used to be a huuuge Pokeshipper back in the day! I don't feel as strongly about it as I did back then, but I'd say it's still my favorite haha
Though I'm not a Big Shipper overall, so my shippy braincells only rotate between 1-2 ships that I actively ship at a time (by which I mean I think about them constantly and/or draw them), but I do appreciate a lot of ships! There are many interesting dynamics in the Pokémon anime, and of course many of them include Ash too (Palletshipping and ZRingshipping come to mind! Very fun ships with equally as fun fanworks)

OMG. Lightbulb idea. Imagine Randy and the Narrator interacting. Like Randy completely misinterprets the lesson of the Ninjanomicon like normal, but then the Narrator interrupts and go "Um actually, I think the book was trying to tell you-" Randy just ignores him.
Oh that is hilarious. Later the Narrator and Nomicon start talking about Randy's poor ability to listen the first time until he is literally smacked in the face with the realization. I also picture the hilarious interactions between Randy and Wordgirl's villains. He is shocked that they don't actively try to kill her like his own and they get along with each other and are genuinely horrified to hear what happened to her. Randy is just blown back by their care of their enemy.

KYLE CROUSE: PedantiCat has a question. "Since female lemurs are called Princess, how would Tangle's friends react to her casually revealing that she's royalty out of the blue? And would Tangle call herself & Blaze 'Princess Pals?'" [chuckles]
youtube
IAN FLYNN: [cackling] She absolutely would! KYLE: Uh-huh! IAN: [as Blaze] "Why didn't you bring this up before?" [as Tangle] "It never comes up! Like, y'know, the Kingdom of Spiral Hill has like, a holding of all of 30 acres! It's never been a big deal!" KYLE: [chuckling] IAN: Like, her whole title is technically on a piece of paper hidden in a file cabinet in the back of the Mineral Museum somewhere. You go up to Jewel, "Is she just makin' this up? Is this, like, another little fantasy trip of hers?" And she's like, "Oh! I forgot about that, hold on!" Climbs up the filing cabinet, digs through the papers. [as Jewel] "Yeah, here it is! Official and everything. Princess Tangle." KYLE: Wow! [chuckles] IAN: Everybody's kinda staring at her, like, "y-you're a blue blood!" And she's like, "eh, it's still me! ...Although..." KYLE: Oh no. Uh oh. IAN: [continuing as Tangle] "...It would be kinda fun to wear a tiara!" KYLE: [laughing] Oh, she's gonna hang out with Blaze, and then Elise is gonna show up. IAN: [chuckles] Tangle just struttin' into the Sol Palace on a "Diplomatic Mission" in the biggest quotation marks you can manage. KYLE: Tangle's going mad with power! [laughs] IAN: Heh, only because it lets her go even more cool places! KYLE: Yeah, that's true. That's true. [chuckles] It works out, 'cause Whisper is her knight, really, so... IAN: Hm! KYLE: [chuckles]

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic blorbo?
Once again gonna do em all :0
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Not to be a basic burnt out GT kid but Twilight Sparkle dhfhhs.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): FLUTTERSHY she’s easily the cutest of the mane 6
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Tbh I don’t think rarity gets enough credit/love as some of the others but I could be wrong
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): I used to Love Octavia when I first got into the fandom and I would constantly be looking for her in official episodes. Her fan works/ fan videos n stuff were so good
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Discord!! (I’m howling at the moon) love him causing problems on purpose <3
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): lmao I love her but Twilight. She already freaks out so much
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): Applejack for gay crimes

Your review of Salem vs Ozpin?
https://pedanticat.tumblr.com/post/674649832435171328/of-all-the-salem-scenes-we-have-gotten-so-far
Fantastic really.
I would love to see if you have any reviews explaining Hazel's choice to work with Oscar...because I think it was clear he still wasn't trusting Ozpin, but he was willing to believe in Oscar.
Firstly, sorry for taking so long to respond, I've just been busy/kept forgetting 😅.
I'm also glad that you enjoyed my analysis of how Salem can't seem to comprehend why Ozpin is working so hard to stop her.
As for why Hazel choose to work with Oscar instead of Oz, it was all a matter of trust. Unlike some other characters within the show, Hazel actually saw Oscar and Oz as two separate people instead of Oscar just being the next Oz. So while he has a personal vendetta against Oz and takes joy in punishing him, he takes no joy in punishing Oscar. Granted, he was still pummeling the same body regardless of who was in the driver's seat but again, when Oscar was in the driver's seat, he was holding back since Oscar himself didn't wrong
Tumblr media
So because he has no grievances with Oscar, he was a lot more willing to believe him instead of Oz. Oscar himself realized this as well since instead of having Ozpin tell Hazel the password for the lamp, Oscar himself choose to tell Hazel the password. I also believe that while Ozpin himself didn't want to risk telling Hazel the password, Oscar knew it was a risk they had to take.

If the WG villains (or characters in general) were to become stanked, I have a pretty good idea of what object would possess the stank:
Victoria recorder, Tobey remote control, Chuck condiment ray and Scoops hat are a few that comes to mind.
Oh yeah I also thought about that idea a bit. The twist is here that Randy comes to Norrisville and McFist unleashes a whole lot of stank onto the villains in hoping to help the Sorcerer escape in Norrisville. He ends up working with Wordgirl to stop him and save the trapped citizens from the stank villains. At one point when trying to destank Dr. Two Brains, Randy becomes visibly frustrated because nothing that Two Brains has seems to be working. Wordgirl then accidentally gets knocked out by a giant robot by McFist which, to Randy's confusion, causes stanked Two Brains to become enraged. He destroys the robot and takes unconscious Wordgirl away before Randy can rescue her. Randy finds her again at TB's hideout where it is discovered Wordgirl is not trapped like other citizens but is placed on cozy pillows and blankets while she recuperates. Randy then discovers that Wordgirl is somehow what Dr. Two Brains holds most dear. He doesn't yet know why though.

Just read your idea for a Randy Cunningham x WordGirl crossover and its pretty neat! Becky would be driven insane by all the slang and lingo they use. Though I could see DTB liking the idea of using "Cheese" as a compliment
Oh yeah he would like that. I sort of had this crazy crossover idea headcanon that Steven was originally from Norrisville before he moved to Fair City. I'm glad you like it. Because the only way to destank Wordgirl is to have Dr. Two Brains talk to her.
Wordgirl would definitely be driven insane by the lingo from there. But it is not what causes the Sorcerer to stank her. 😈

Heh, I'm just picturing Viceroy meeting DTB years later with Viceroy realizing that this mouse brain villain used to be his old pal Steven. Though he isn't too surprised that Steven ended up becoming a supervillain by accident due to being distracted when in the midst of an experiment. It happened all the time when the two worked together on projects back in school with Viceroy always needing to make sure the device didn't go hardwired since while Steven was brilliant, he was easily distractable.
Yeah. I can imagine Viceroy lightly teasing Two Brains about his clumsy accident.

Okay, you suggested the idea of Mr. Big Hanibal being old college buddies, but imagine the same for Viceroy and Steven. Sure he may have been an evil scientist, but I could see the two still being buds back then.
Also, I'm guessing during the midst of this crossover adventure, Howard and Huggy would be on their own misadventure.
Oh yeah, a youtuber named Mr. Multiverse mentioned this when he proposed a fanfiction idea on his channel about Wordgirl vs Randy like Batman vs Superman, but with out all the death and gritty stuff. He also talked about Mr. Big and Hannibal McFist being old friends and it was funny how Leslie and Viceroy interacted. But yeah I can picture Steven and Viceroy being old college buddies. Steven probably needed to take a few classes at Mad Science University (MSU) where he met Viceroy there as he needed those course for a degree or something. Oh yes, Howard and Huggy would be straight up bonding.
here is the link to Mr. Multiverse's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7h9oHZ5m6I
Angst thing to mention - it was seeing Randy's bond with Howard which contributed to Wordgirl getting stanked in my original idea.

Since you paired Ash and Angie together in your movie fanart, what do you think of that ship?
It's okay! I don't have a strong opinion about it one way or another, haha. I just figured that was where Angie would like to sit :>
