WIP game
Rules: post the last line from your current wip and tag as many people as you want.
Thanks for tagging me @darlin-djarin
I'm currently modeling Vader's castle hallway on Mustafar based on early concept by Phil Szostak, which I like very much. I wanna keep it simple and minimalistic but still have to finish some parts and work with the textures and etc.
I tried playing with different lighting scenarios and decided to stick with combination of red and blue light for now to emphasize the inner conflict of the main character and make it more dramatic.
Tagging @vanishedangels in case you feel like it (I'm longing to read another wip or new chapter from you)

Favorite color: Black, pthalo blue and green
Last song: The TRON: Legacy soundtrack
Last movie: Willow
Currently watching: Nothing’s really captured my interest right now!
Other stuff I watched this year: As far as as new (or new to me) movies and shows are concerned, here are the good ones: Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Amongst Thieves, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, The Martian, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. I’ve also seen a loooooot of terrible movies this year XD
Shows I dropped this year/didn’t finish: The Mandalorian season 3. I finished out the season but I’m mad enough about it that I’m not touching anything that comes after it with a ten foot pole 😒
Currently reading: Secrets of Soulford, Rose Tide Rising, and Blacksmith on Webtoons, Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina edited by Kevin J. Anderson, The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian by Phil Szostak, a bunch of other Star Wars reference books
Currently listening to: A lot of movie soundtracks!
Currently working on: Halloween costume for this year (I’m going as Zorro), Christmas shopping, and transcribing a lot of scrap notes to one of my nice notebooks.
Current obsession: Secrets of Soulford and Rose Tide Rising have been recent loves as of this year, and Star Wars has consumed me the last four-ish years. I wasn’t a Star Wars fan until the first season of Mando came out and now I’ve got stacks of reference books and behind the scenes art books taking up a bookcase.

listen to me: carlando in star wars
okay okay so i am returning to my annual star wars phase and i saw this concept art (the first image you see) for solo by phil szostak and reminded me SO MUCH of carlos that i was struck with an idea.
so i've already been on about how obi-wan reminds me so much of seb and that would mean that charles is anakin BUT this art got me thinking about carlando in star wars and. let me tell you. it's such a concept.
this is what i'm thinking: carlos is a padawan, his master is killed in a qui-gon and obi-wan situation and carlos becomes a jedi knight perhaps earlier than he is really supposed to be. i think it would be interesting to have seb step into a sort of mentor role--not as strict as a master/padawan relationship but still guiding, and maybe they meditate together and are sent on missions together--but either way, carlos is really having to figure things out on his own, improve his skills, navigate life as a knight alone pretty much. he's really suffering from the loss of that training bond and his grief strengthens his tendencies to avoid any sort of attachment at all. like, he's really trying to be this perfect jedi but can't understand why he's struggling with the force or with his saber skills etc., even if to everyone else he's doing really well.
enter lando, who i imagine as a reluctant ambassador or senator or some important republic person's son, but all he really wants to do is fly. like, he's a great pilot. but this means that he keeps going missing, going offworld, and his father or whoever is quite worried about preexisting security threats plus this tendency, and so the council decides that someone should keep an eye on him. they're a bit reluctant about it but carlos isn't really doning anything else--maybe he's recovering from an injury or something like that--so they put him on lando babysitting duty. except as we know they blossom together.
cue carlos's emotional torture about attachments and duty and whatever plus lando's insecurities and rebellious tendencies and then this forbidden but beautiful relationship with each other. but then carlos is sent off on some mission, going undercover somewhere, and lando is so bored without him, but then the council loses contact. carlos is totally missing. even the jedi that were closest to him have no idea where he is (charles and seb and fernando, i imagine). and lando is like fuck it, i'm going, and he abandons coruscant, abandons his duties, and goes after carlos when the council won't.
also i imagine carlos using a reverse grip on dual sabers, ahsoka style. entirely because of how carlos holds his hands already.

STAR WARS EPISODE I: The Phantom Menace 00:52:12
The unidentified podracer on the left beside Ody Mandrell's can be seen behind Doug Chiang in this photo tweeted by Phil Szostak a few years ago. Looks like a pretty interesting model!
Tumblr media
Just picked up Creating the Worlds of Star Wars 365 Days by John Knoll and on page 155, there's a photo that most clearly shows the mystery white podracer (albeit a pretty small photo).

Star Wars: Andor Recycled a Deleted Snoke Scene from The Last Jedi
Tumblr media
Star Wars enthusiasts all throughout the world are interested in Andor. The most recent Disney+ series is being praised by critics as being the finest of the lot, even if it may not have the same enormous following as shows like Obi-Wan or The Mandalorian.
Many were undoubtedly surprised by it considering that the show's lead character didn't even play the lead in his first film. Nevertheless, he is now in charge of some of the franchise's strongest narratives Although it has been stated that the series is largely telling its own contained plot, there are still many Easter Eggs for fans to find. After all, the program will need to relate to some topics because it is about the beginning of the Rebellion. But now a shocking link between the series and a popular film has been made public, and it has to do with the divisive movie The Last Jedi. Abandoned Last Jedi Idea Is Passed Down to Andor A surprising connection between Star Wars: Andor and The Last Jedi has been uncovered, according to Star Wars YouTuber Kyle Katarn. The most recent episode of Andor has Syril Karn, played by Kyle Soller, wandering through the Bureau of Standards until finding employment there towards the conclusion of the episode. Evidently, Snoke's Supremacy ship from The Last Jedi was intended to be a component of the design for that office. In Episode 8's production designer Todd Cherniawsky's words, "Rian Johnson initially had the concept" for a Snoke scene in The Last Jed, Katarn disclosed in a video. "The concept to add this enormous bullpen aboard Snoke's ship, filled with bookkeepers and pencil pushers, was first conceived by Rian Johnson. Later, a new version of the concept was developed for the Andor Bureau of Standards." The YouTuber claims that they recently chatted on the phone, which might be how Katarn obtained the quotation. Lucasfilm's Phil Szostak appears to have confirmed the information, pointing out that a deleted version of The Last Jedi is indeed available on Disney+: The "Mega Destroyer Incursion" deleted scene from The Last Jedi, which is detailed below, may be found in Disney+'s Extras section or as concept art on page 171 of my book "The Art of The Last Jedi." What may have happened Fans frequently learn about potential plot elements for The Rise of Skywalker. Less and less often, audiences find out about The Last Jedi's deleted scenes. As Szostak noted, the deleted scene from The Last Jedi that takes place in an office setting is available to view in the movie's Extras section on Disney+. Although it is significantly smaller in the one that was shot there than it is in Andor, Finn and Roses' expedition into the Supremacy would have included it. The likelihood of the ship appearing again is remote because it was obliterated in the Sequel Trilogy. There is still a chance that Palpatine's cloning technology may appear at some point in that previous timeframe, though, considering the possible allusions to it in The Mandalorian. Now available on Disney+ for streaming are Andor and The Last Jedi. More movie news is available here Read the full article
