It's the end of another Broadway touring season for Playhouse Square so I thought I'd post my current collection of all the shows I've seen at Playhouse since 2017 😊

I've been privileged enough to be able to get season tickets for the past two years and it's been amazing. Some day I'd love to be able to afford to see a show in New York but I love going to Playhouse. The tours are always incredible.

Here's to adding more and more! New season start soon!

note: I'm currently trying to weed out my collection a bit, so if there are any playbills you're on the hunt for from recent years (say, past 10ish?) feel free to ask me if I have it -- pricing is donation-based, but appreciated as I cover all shipping costs out of pocket <3 *the findings listed below are Not For Sale*

Raffle Tickets: 2 tickets to Aladdin 2 tickets to Friends, the parody musical 2 tickets to Titanique much more successful at the TDF table than in years past; I will have a fun time at any of these shows. Originally got tickets for Jaja's African Hairbraiding, which upon further research sounds like it could be an interesting/enjoyable play; but I offered them back because I'm kinda in London the date the tickets were for; and the lovely lady gave me another set (wound up being the aladdin ones) to replace them, which i was Not Expecting at All, I just didn't want the tickets to go to waste! <333

Vinyls: The Pirates of Penzance Film Soundtrack The HMS Pinafore* Cats OLC (the superior recording, in my opinion) Follies OBC Gigi Film Soundtrack Candide (1982) *Pinafore is supposed to be a multi-disk set but it only came with one, which I'm a bit miffed about because they were still selling it at the same price as other stand-alones; but considering how much records usually cost $25 for 6 isn't too shabby

Playbills: The Woman in White OBC (did NOT think I would actually find this, have been on the hunt for years !!) Dracula (wasn't even looking for it, but I had to nab it) Assassins 2004* Lestat* Othello (1982 bway revival with some GOATS in the cast) The Scarlet Pimpernel (I might own one already, I wasn't sure; but it was $1 so I figured why not) Brigadoon (Encores! Revival because come ON) The Frogs OBC KPOP the musical (because I was sad I didn't get to see it) *since Chris Peluso just passed away, I really wanted to get a playbill with him in it (if you didn't know, I saw him as Glyde in the Woman in White revival in 2018) -- and I accidentally found two, so that made me really happy <3

All in all I was very satisfied with my haul, and proud of myself for staying well within my $100 budget yay!

I forgot I had Rex in a playbill that I have and every time I see his face in it I gasp 😂💀 I actually had this before I watched 1776 which was months ago and at the time I had no idea who he was but then I was going through my a billion playbills after I watched 1776 a few times to see if I had anybody from the movie in any of the playbills I own and I do have quite a few but when I saw Rex I just balled because he’s one of the only 2 actors who I have headshots in a playbill for, the other being John Cullum who I DID see in Waitress a few years ago but at the time I didn’t know who the fuck he was so 😭💔 but it’s so surreal thinking I saw someone from 1776 PHYSICALLY LIVE.

The other actors who I have in playbills are Charles Rule, William Duell, William Hansen and Gary Beach.

I also have a few from the ‘97 revival.

Musicals We Didn’t Know We Needed

In the hit musical PARADISE SQUAREPANTS Sponge Bob owns a hangout called Paradise Square in Lower Bikini Bottom. He's created an underwater paradise where free Sponges and cultists Sardines can harmoniously sing, dance, and debate. But when a deadly volcano is threatening to erupt, and the Tidal Basin Riots break out, tensions spill over. Things are further complicated when Patchy the Pirate is ejected from Paradise Square claiming he is being persecuted due to pirate stereotypes. He is supported in song (“Poor Pirates”) by a rowdy band he met at a diver bar in nearby Hell's Kitchen.

FUNNY GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY is set in Duluth, Minnesota during the bleak winter of 1934. Nicky Lainstein is proprietor of a rundown guest house where vaudeville star Fanny Brice is stranded during her penultimate farewell tour. During one snow-swept night, Fanny tells Nicky of her tumultuous career in the limelight – all to the music of Bob Dylan.

THE MUSIC MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE is the story of Alfie Byrne, who finds that there's trouble in Dublin City. The cause? Dirty books! The last thing he expects is to fall in love with Salome Peru, the local librarian and her dance of the 76 veils.

THE PHANTOM OF THE THREEPENNY OPERA ~ MacHeath (aka Mack the Knife) lives deep in the catacombs under the Paris Opera House, hiding his disfigured face from the world after a horrible chandelier accident. He falls in love with Polly, a young soprano and part-time slut, and vows he will marry her. This angers her father, Peacham, the manager of the Opera, who will stop at nothing to save his daughter from MacHeath's wretched clutches.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN-CAN is the musical story of Franc, a con-man who pretends to be a pilot for Air France, but is haunted by his mysterious childhood. His mother Claudine was a can-can dancer in Montmartre who was harassed by a judge who may or may not be his real father. While passing fake travelers cheques at Charles De Gaulle airport, he is pursued by both the law and his past, while singing the show's big number “Catch Me If You Can-Can”

In MY FAIR LADY IN THE DARK magazine editor Liza finds herself plagued by indecision. She is courted by two men: Higgins, a grammar-fixated speech teacher; and Freddy, a romantic street surveyor. When seeing a psychologist, she delves into her dreams of being put on trial for her indecision in a circus setting, with her father Alfie acting as prosecutor, Higgins as chief witness, and Freddy as her defense attorney. She defends her refusal to make up her mind in the searing "Saga of Jenny". Will she fetch his slippers, or go to the races? As the curtain falls, Liza finally makes up her mind.

MR. SATURDAY NIGHT MOTHER is the heart-breaking yet hysterical story of Buddy Young Jr. (Billy Crystal), a washed-up comic who comes home to care for his terminally ill mother. Little does he know that she wants him to help her die - laughing!

I have 18 Broadway Playbills and I am going to brag about that fact whenever I add to that collection.

Out of the 18, I've seen 10 and met the cast and crew of 8. I only paid to see 2.

My company gets hired on by the theatre Broadway rents out on Main St. (Not in NYC). It's fun. I collect the Playbills for every show I work there.

As I have always said, the cast and crew for theatre productions are the best people.

(Pumba called me a queen because I wore a circlet to work one time. He's awesome)

I could go on, but I won't. I'll come back when I've added to my collection.

I spent so much time working on ornaments these past couple of months that we were super late putting the ornaments on our own tree. 😆 Better late than never I guess!
