Despite living through the idiocy of every excruciating moment of the Trump Era, I somehow still find myself amazed at how fucking stupid these crimes are after reading the unsealed indictment. They are reckless and dangerous and serious violations of national security, but also just straight-up dumb. So goddamn dumb. I’m actually surprised that I am still finding ways to be shocked at the stupidity of this one supremely ignorant person. And at the fact that, after four years of having HIM as President of the United States, nearly 75 million Americans voted for him again.

China is NOT Our Friend: The Cox Report
James F. Gauss, Ph.D. April 1, 2024 In 2002, I wrote an unpublished three-part series, Red Star Rising: But is Anyone Watching? In the third part, I highlighted the dangers of the Clinton China Most Favored Nation decision on national security by summarizing parts of The Cox Report  of January 3, 1999 or otherwise known as The Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial…

Everything you want in a president.
Tumblr media
March 25, 2024
In a side-by-side comparison of the two national party candidates for president, it's not even close. One of them is an adjudicated rapist, a convicted fraudster, a verified insurrectionist, an avowed racist, an unrepentant grifter and a pathological liar. While the other embodies literally everything the American people say they want to see in a president.
For example, in a USA Today/Suffolk University poll, Americans responded 57% to 34% that they favored having a president who was willing to compromise in order to get things done. As a senator, Joe Biden was famous for being willing to work across the aisle. And as president, his latest achievement at finding the middle ground was the bipartisan border security bill hammered out earlier this year and then scuttled by House Republicans for partisan reasons at Donald Trump's command.
The Pew Research Center reports that nearly all US adults believe it's important to have a president who lives a moral and ethical life, and almost half say the president should have strong religious beliefs. In contrast to the serial philanderer and lifelong crook who hasn't seen the inside of a church in years, Biden is faithful to his wife, Jill, and attends Mass every Sunday. In February, he told the congregation at the African-American Saint John Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, "In my life, I've tried to walk my faith."
Moreover, in nearly 50 years in public life — and despite the best efforts of House Republicans to manufacture dirt about him — there has never been so much as a whiff of scandal or corruption attaching to Biden. While many other senators were using their positions to enrich themselves via the largesse of lobbyists or through insider stock trading, Senator Biden quietly worked to craft bipartisan legislation and then took the train home to Delaware every night to be with his children.
Americans have consistently indicated they prefer a president who honors our service members in both word and deed, is loyal to our allies, supports democracy around the world and cares for the welfare of our nation. Biden has a well-earned reputation for being firmly committed to every one of these ideals. Trump has clearly shown he is not.
Time and again, Joe Biden has proven himself highly empathetic, effective at getting laws passed, skilled at finding bipartisan solutions, firm in dealing with our adversaries and willing to change his mind on issues when situations change. But, as the media constantly remind us, Biden is 81. Which apparently means we're supposed to vote for the 78-year-old fascist.

It’s time for my quadrennial plea: before we start measuring candidates of the two main political parties for nomination to run for President, May we please discuss reasonably what we want from the Executive Branch starting in January of 2025?
What, not who do we want?

The Law for Thee
Twenty years after the invasion of Iraq, an American ex-president is being charged with crimes and a world leader has been indicted for war crimes. These things are not related. George W Bush, like his father before him, will never face legal consequences for the hundreds of thousands of people killed or who saw their lives ruined by his militarism, his oversight of torture and indefinite…

You’d think that some of Trump’s opponents for the 2024 GOP nomination would take this opportunity to immediately point out that their biggest obstacle to the nomination not only is the only President to be impeached twice and now indicted on federal charges, but is being charged with violating the ESPIONAGE ACT.
But you can’t upset the party’s political base, right? Nobody wants to stir up the folks at Sedition HQ.

China IS NOT Our Friend
James F. Gauss, Ph.D. March 27, 2024 Many years ago, during the Bill Clinton presidency, my wife stopped at a local convenience store. Behind the counter was a high school student. As the student waited on my wife, somehow the casual conversation turned to China and all the Chinese products that were showing up in local stores. The student gleefully declared that her teacher told his class the…

US folks living in New York, Wisconsin, Connecticut, or Rhode Island:
today (April 2, 2024) is the Democratic primary election! please please go vote against genocide!
the Vote Uncommitted campaign is sending Biden a message that voters demand a permanent ceasefire now! How it works is people vote uncommitted or undecided or other in large numbers, which will show the democrats that they WILL NOT win the general election in the Fall and Trump will become president unless Biden and the rest of the Dems immediately change their policy on Israel and Gaza. Michigan already turned out over 100,000 people voting uncommitted, which is MORE than the margin Biden won MI by last election and more than the margin Trump won MI by in 2016. Voting Uncommitted matters! So if you’re a US citizen who’s able to vote, make sure you do!!
each state has a different ballot option so please refer to this graphic to see how you should vote in your state!

Kash Patel: “I think in November… there is going be to a cataclysmic implosion in Washington, DC, the likes of which we have not seen. And the deep state, once it’s sunk, cannot be raised… and we are going to see a new day in Washington, where people are held accountable internally in government for their criminal conduct.” 💥
Kash also proposed a full fledged investigation into everyone in Congress who aided & abetted the J6 Committee 👀
“Let’s see who broke the law.”
The next few years should be fun! 🇺🇸

On July 18th, 2015, I realized that the Republican Party had left me behind. On this day, while seeking the Republican nomination for president, Donald Trump had the following to say about an Annapolis graduate who was shot down, captured and tortured as a POW by the communist North Vietnam regime:
“He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."
This verbal diarrhea came out of the mouth of a man who used his father’s wealth and privilege to dodge the draft five different times due to his “bone spurs”. Donald Trump is a traitor, a repeated draft dodger and the largest fraud in the history of our country.

Listen.
If you can vote, you need to get out and vote. You cannot boycott an election. Refusing to vote does not send the message you think it does. In fact, it sends the exact opposite message. If you refuse to vote, you're telling politicians that you are a demographic not worth appealing to.
If you care about reproductive rights and don't vote, politicians will not try to appeal to you.
If you care about LGBT protections and don't vote, politicians will not try to appeal to you.
If you care about a free Palestine and don't vote, politicians will not try to appeal to you.
If you care about police and prison reform and don't vote, politicians will not try to appeal to you.
If you care about immigrants and don't vote, politicians will not try to appeal to you.
Politicians will act to appeal to the greatest number of voters. If you do not vote, they will appeal to the people who will. And the people who want to take away birth control, and criminalize trans people, and support Israel's genocidal campaign, and want to militarize the police, and want to exile every non-white person WILL VOTE.
In November, there are only two choices that matter. You either vote for Joe Biden or you do not. Any vote not cast for him or a vote withheld is support for Donald Trump.
Joe Biden is a politician and an imperialist. He may support Israel, but as we've been seeing, he can be made to back down. If you are loud and you put pressure on him, he can be made to do what is right. And he knows that if he wins, it will be because the people didn't want Trump. So he will be more inclined to listen to the people.
Donald Trump is a dictator and a fascist. He does not respect the rule of law. He does not respect the will of the people. He does not respect anyone or anything. If he comes into power again, he plans on seizing permanent power, deporting people en-masse and stripping away everyone's rights.
And we have seen his response to protests. He has had protestors shot at. He will never yield to any amount of force. He will only respond with violence.
Fascism doesn't use tanks and armed forces to seize power. It seizes power through deception. Fascism uses the tanks and armed forces to keep its power after seizing it.
The majority of people DO NOT want what the Republicans are offering. The Republicans only have power because they have lied and cheated and manipulated everything. And we need to come out in a force great enough that no amount of foul-play can overcome.
All the Republicans have to offer is hatred. All they can do is divide us against each other. And they can only win by stripping the rights from the people they dehumanize.
No amount of moral conviction matters if you will not commit even the barest minimum effort.
No amount of protest or demonstration or internet posting matters if you do not vote.
If you refuse to vote because no candidate is the purest morally right choice that would solve everything, then you can take your WORTHLESS moral superiority and FUCK OFF!
Taking no sides is siding with whoever DOESN'T NEED YOUR HELP. And Trump and his fascist cronies DO NOT need your help.
I meanwhile am going to add what little strength I can to moving the US in the right direction.
