Tomstar's AU

Don't get me wrong 'cause I still more foucs on Violetverse. But this is an AU I came up with all of a sudden. So I guess I can do some artwork for this AU. And here're some of my thoughts.

Unlike the show, after the coronation of Eclipsa, Star says goodbye to Marco and goes on a tour with Tom. But later, Eclipsa feels that she need family instead of power, so she returns the throne to the family of Moon and Star. After Moon became queen for a while, the throne is passed to Star. So without Moon's spell, Mina doesn't become a BOSS. Meanwhile, in Earth, Marco and Janna's relationship begins to change.

Diavola Butterfly:

Star and Tom's only child. "Diavola" means "demon".

Looks like a sweet teenager girl, but not as energetic as her mother when she was young. She likes cute and beautiful things. Knowing that she is cute, especially confident that Kale thinks she's cute", acting like a perfect princess to the outside world, and actually a little swanky. Her parents often work in different places (Butterfly Castle and Underworld), so she wants the family to spend more time together. Although she will not show it to the outside world, she is actually worried about whether she is not strong or lacks personality as a princess.

Kale Diaz:

Marco and Janna's only child. In this AU, Marco is a PE teacher and janna is a hypnotist.

He wears the same clothes every day, just like his parents, except for special occasions. When he was a little kid, he met Diavola on a trip to Mewni with his parents. Currently he is her boyfriend. He always open his eyes half open, and almost always has a smooth smile. He likes to joke, fond of strange things like his mother, and has a bit of a bad boy vibe. He often makes Diavola blush. It's hard to tell his true feelings because he has so few facial changes. However, He is actually the type that makes Diavola happy in their romantic relationship, and she sometimes wonder how he can be so skilled.

Ok, I know She-ra reboot wasn't your fandom, but you allowed allows to rant about it in your ask box, which I thank you for.

So, we all come from different cultures and have different beliefs. We can't all collectively agree on what Adora and Catra are to each other. But we will take some facts. So, they were two orphans that grew up in a foster home environment and had the same foster mother, but we all know they saw Shadow Weaver was a literal mother, they just never explicitly called her mom. Now, one thing was is that Catra and Adora were very close as children and growing up, that Adora being the sweetheart she was always tried to include Catra even when Catra pushed her away. Catra is a cat girl so she slept by Adora's feet, they apparently even showered together? (Idk how true that is, I think someone who worked on the show said that, I don't remember it being in or mentioned in the show, if anyone wants to come enlighten me) ok, so we get it. They were very close growing up.

Ok, now here's my gripe with the trope. So ND Stevenson revealed early on that Catradora would be end game. A lot of people had their beef with that, especially since some felt the show didn't show any character growth for their romance. So they end up together at the end, they kiss and credits roll.

So, I looked it up. The trope doesn't exactly have a name? But it's "we were very close as children, got separated for a bit, but we reunited to date now", yeah a mouth full. I wouldn't call it childhood romance tbh. I've seen this trope used in other shows and media. I don't like that trope. More examples are star vs the forces of evil, but you know, we'd had to watch Star and Marco be with other people first. But it's different since they met at 14 and 15 and were roommates for a bit before Star returned to Mewni for a bit and they kissed before the finale.

There's a lot of animes with this trope too. Kizaiver, Your Lie in April, Blue Spring Ride, A Silent Voice. Sorry, just tried naming some popular animes from the top of my head.

Ok, I don't understand this trope. I'm sorry, I just don't find it realistic. When I've seen "real life" examples, turns out they just had history together in 8th grade and sat at different tables never speaking to each other, but met at 26 and got married later. Ok sorry, this is weirdly specific. Just I feel like this trope isn't real or applicable to real life. I feel like some people just want to emphasize and put importance to their relationship in a way that's not true or wasn't there.

So here's how it applies to HB. So Viv really saw some cute fanart and incorporated and changed the story up for it????

Ok???? But like....the ship is still so bad....

It just feels so forced and feels like she went this way cause she saw it a few times in other works.

Ok, sorry for the rant. I just truly feel like some creators pull stuff out of their ass to try making us ship bad ships.

Thanks for the insight into Catradora. I think regardless of how two characters meet, whether they knew each other as kids or not, it's not going to be a good ship if the writing isn't there.

Honestly I think Stolitz was never going to feel natural or sincere -- why none of her canon ships ever really do -- because Vivzie doesn't seem to get why one human being loves another. Her understanding of it stalled early on in her yaoi fic days and never went anywhere beyond that. They're gay, that's enough for Viv.

🦋 The blonde butterfly and her human boyfriend were both at the Diaz household, happily watching an all-day marathon of their favorite TV show while snacking on slices of strawberry shortcake. 🍰

Since Earth and Mewni were now merged into one, it meant that the two teens could be together forever, and being together meant more indoor dates like these.

Star ate the last cake crumb on her plate, but her sweet tooth was still craving for more.

Turning to Marco, she instantly switches her puppy dog eyes on. “Oh Marco, could you pretty please get me another slice of cake?” Star asked, holding her empty plate at him, frosting smeared on her face.

Marco chuckled at Star.

He found her childlike nature adorable.

“Uh, Star, you got a bit of frosting there on your face.” He points to his own face to emphasize.

"I do?” she asked. Her blue eyes gaze down and she sees white icing smeared on her mouth.

“Oh, I do!" Star giggled. "Hold on, I got this.” Wiping her lips with her arm only makes things worse as a frosting mustache was now apparent on her lips. Star smiles. “There! Better?”

Marco chuckles a second time.

“Hold on," he said, taking her plate as he stood up. "I’ll get you something to wipe your face off with.” Star smiles at him. “Okay, boo!” she beams brightly.

Marco takes off into the kitchen.

As soon as he was gone, Star quickly reaches into her dress pocket and pulls out a cheesecake-flavored and scented lip gloss.

She, Jackie, Chloe, Janna, Pony Head, and Starfan13 spent some girl time together in the mall the other day.

As the girls passed by a few stores, Star's eyes sparkled when she saw a store that sold the lip gloss.

She knew it would be a sweet and shiny treat for her lips.

After purchasing and testing it on her lips, she became extremely fond of it.

Twisting the small white cap off of the yellow container that was decorated with the same cakes as the product was named after, Star begins to spread the sweet and glossy goodness all across her top and bottom lips.

Adjusting the lid back on, Star puts the tube back in her pocket and rubs her lips together.

She then licks them.

A hum of delight came from the artificial cakey flavor. “Mmm, cheesecake.”

“I’m back!” Marco happily announced as he returned with the slice of cake for Star and a small napkin for her face. “A cake and napkin for the lady,” he spoke in a gentlemanly tone as handed the two items to Star.

“Why thank you, Mr. Diaz,” she giggled, wiping the sugar paste off her face.

“I have a surprise for you.”

“A surprise?! What is it?”

“Close your eyes. It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you, ya silly goose!”

“Oh, right.”

Shutting his eyes, Marco smiles, eager to receive his girlfriend’s gift.

Star slowly leans in to kiss her boy.

As she does so, Marco’ s nose detects a sweet scent.

“Mmm, something smells good! Is my surprise something sweet?”

“Maaaaybe,” Star tee-hees before pressing her lips to his and pulling away in three seconds. “Sooo," she playfully began. "What did you think? Can you guess the flavor?”

Marco opens his eyes and licks his lips. “Hmm…is it…cheesecake?”

Star imitates an over the top announcer. “Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner, folks!”

The former squire snickered before leaning in to place a peck on his girlfriend’s cheek as they continued their marathon and cake eating.

You could say Star had a sweet tooth for two things: one being the slice of shortcake and two Marco’s lips. 🦋

Passing the Wand Back

Summary: Skywynne has a female heir. Her son needs to return the wand. These are facts. Still, that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

Notes: So, a while back, @the-time-lord-of-gallifrey-1963 requested that I write something about Skywynne Butterfly because of the lack of fanfic about her. I decided to write the moment Jushtin had to hand the wand back. This was a touch hard since we don't know a lot of her personality, and I don't have the Book of Spells on hand, but I do know that Jushtin loved Solaria, even if she took his place as heir, so I decided to write them as a loving family. Skywynne probably had some thoughts about Jushtin's sense of responsibility, and probably wasn't forced to have another kid, as pointed out by @darkmasterofcupcakes, but she did probably love her son and see hints of him being a good king.

If she had the freedom to, Skywynne Butterfly would've reversed time to change her decision to get pregnant again.

Her first time with Jushtin had been agony. She wasn't sure why labor hurt so much, her mother said she had been easy, but she was certain that somebody knew why, based on how the doctors shook their heads and fiddled their hands. It had taken over fifteen years for her to have another baby.

The pain wasn't the cause of her distress, however.

"It's just...it's tradition," she managed out. Her mouth felt very dry. Gem-robin had taken Solaria- only two weeks old but surprisingly active- to walk around Mewni, stating he wanted to spend time with his daughter before time was lost in the rush to prepare her to become queen. Right now, it felt like he was abandoning Skywynne to this moment. "We've always had a queen. And now that Solaria is here-"

"Mother," Jushtin smiled at her, even though tears were clearly beading up in his eyes. He had clearly gotten attached to the wand, even though Subtraction the Alligator Head had bitten more people than she could count. "I understand. I swore a promise to give up any claim to the throne when Solaria was born, and I will keep that promise." He held out the wand. "She will make a great queen and I will be honored to serve her."

Skywynne took it. It felt enormously heavy in her hands, even as it shifted and changed back to her clock. Tears beaded up in her eyes.

"...you would've made a wonderful king too." He was a party man, a bit untrustworthy with magical artifacts (she still wasn't over how he had just left the Book of Spells in the warnicorn waste bin), and sometimes too focused on math, but she knew he had a good heart and a good brain. Skywynne leaned forward and, in a rare moment, kissed her son's forehead. "I love you."

Jushtin leaned forward. "I love you too, Mother." Arms wrapped around her and squeezed tight. "And I love Solaria too."

...never mind. Skywynne would never reverse time for this.

You know what bothers me about Toffee's goop body in season 4? Even after he came back, he basically "recreated" his own body with green goop, which is something monsters Dont consist of.

And after Star melted him away, his "flesh" turned out to be green goop and skeleton again.

That made me think that Toffee technically consisted of magic (at least when he returned in battle for mewni). He may have been just a regualr monster but after being in the wand and coming back, his body was made of magic.

The unicorns in magic realm also turned to green goop and skeletons when Star and co destroyed magic.

And..that made me realize. Even if Toffee hadn't been killed by Star and had been spared, he still would have perished at the end. Because his body is made of magic.

And also the fact that he could walk away, implied that magic hasnt been destroyed. Toffee sure didnt think this through (no thought akin to "If i destroyed magic and my body was rebuild with magic, then why am i still alive?")

thinking about the magic genocide and while the destruction of magic itself was sucky, there was a really really obvious way to make the destruction of dimensional travel and the resolution of the "they can't see each other ever again :(" plot work a little better.

make the mewmans return to earth. they were humans, after all. they're originally from earth. yes, some logistics would be weird, especially with meteora and her family, but i'm just spitballing. like, if they had to destroy the magic, it would make far more sense for the mewmans to be returned to "where they belong" ie earth. we wouldn't have to worry about the great monster massacre 2: guns boogaloo, the love disaster would be neatly solved, maybe eclipsa and her family stay in mewni because they feel they belong there, and there's a tearful goodbye that doesn't involve jamming two dimensions together with no regard for the problems it would cause. tada. fixed it.

Have a MoonToffee Fankid here in the year of our Lord 2022

I’m still kind of playing around with his story a bit, but some of the basics. Moon and Toffee had a relationship, bearing a hybrid son Gravitas. Shit happened and Toffee had to take their child and go into hiding, raising him alone back in Septarsis. Moon eventually marries River and has Star as the heir to the kingdom. When Star comes of age, events play out as they do in canon up until the wand is cleaved. Ludo still picks up the other half of the wand, but it is is stolen from him by a Septarian youth. Gravitas then goes to Earth and attacks Star at the party, which is what prompts her to return to Mewni, rather than Moon coming to get her. 

Details from here on out is where I’m still playing around with things, but a few notes: Toffee did not kill Comet, Gravitas hates magic like his dad and blames Star for his father’s apparent death, and upon Toffee’s resurrection it’s revealed Moon still has feelings for him. Despite some extreme sibling rivalry in the beginning, Gravitas and Star eventually warm up to each other and he’s very protective of his little sister.
