:Mission:

One year before the harrowing battle of the Silver Millenium four princesses vanished from their Kingdoms without a trace. One month after Usagi battled Queen Beryl and resurrected all she loved with the power of the Silver Crystal, one of the lost has awoken.

Shina, newly moved from America to Japan, has found herself the target of a new enemy. Elder Bocuk, claims he is the chosen one to unite the Effigy of Seasons and bring on the Endless Night. He has brainwashed Sailor Io, Callisto and Ganymede, and all he needs is Sailor Europa’s phenomenal winter powers to snuff out the sun’s light.

With the help of Sailor Moon and her team, Sailor Europa must track down the Galilean Scout’s civilian identities, win back their Talisman and remind them of who they really are, all before Winter Solstice.

Because even while Shina’s powers grow, so does that of her enemy. As the seasons change, time is running out for everyone.

:Name & Meaning:

Akiko means Autumn’s Child, Tsukimi means Looking at the Moon. It reminds others of harvest time and the Autumn Moon Festival.

:Age & Birthday:

Akiko is fifteen, a year above Shina and born October 3rd.

:Appearance:

Small and slender, she is the shortest of the Galilean Guardians at 5’2. From her mother she inherited her mocha skin and rich chocolate coloured hair which she began to grow out as soon as she started to outwardly transition. She has two braids that circle her crown and bind at the nape of her neck into a loose ponytail with an rose-peach bow.

After she’s been purified, she spends her free time in her garden with big overalls, loose floral blouses and an enormous straw hat with a sunflower stuck on it. She’s still gaining confidence through her transition and hides her boyish figure under oversized woollen sweaters. Shina ways encourages her to express herself and in their bedrooms dress up in floral sundresses to match her straw hat.

:Personality:

Rejoining the team, Akiko has fallen into habits from a lifetime ago. While Shina has always been blue sky ideas, it was Prince Maple’s job to make them happen. Obsessively methodical and attentive to small details, she nitpicks every step of the way with her face pinched in concentration as she worries about every step.

Tactics, lists and research are all part of her arsenal and her greatest lament in her transition is girl’s don’t have pockets. Instead she isn’t without her backpack, stuffing to the brim with notepad, pens, string, screwdrivers, tissues and extra paper, always paper. She loves to plan, but her fussy personality means a plan is never quite finished and she needs others to give her the push to start.

This hesitation to start also trickles into her life as a Guardian as she internalises her small stature. She’s not cowardly, but she overthinks her weakness could put others in danger. Instead she will linger back, attack from a distance and strategise. She’s excellent at seeing the big picture and great at putting everyone’s specialties together into amazing battle strategies.

However Shina is the one exception. She spent all of the Silver Millenium being protected by Princess Frost; she knows it’s her turn to protect Sailor Europa.

:Likes:

Akiko loves spending time in her garden, planning her planting year, dressing up in fancy clothes, and cooking her favourite foods with her home grown ingredients. She also loves Halloween! She’s a total wallflower until halloween where she plans a giant party where she prepares all the party treats, games and plans her costume months in advance.

:Dislikes:

Animals eating her hard work, aphids, things not going according to plan, people judging her for her life choices.

:Hobbies:

Akiko loves the peace of her garden, the feel of the soil she helped enrich under her fingers and the pride of seeing her plants flourish under her care.

:Orientation:

Although born male, Akiko always felt unsure in her body. Fortunately her mother and her stepfather saw her struggle and accepted her. When her grandmother invited her to Japan, it was a chance to transition fully with a fresh start. She legally changed her name and gender in the Philippines, and began her new life across the world.

:Background:

Akiko was born when a Japanese businessman named Osamu abandoned a young woman in the Philippines.

However Kuri was strong, resilient and loving; giving birth to a small baby boy and remarried a kind and compassionate man. Bayani was the only father they knew. Both recognised as the child grew they preferred dresses and makeup and allowed them the freedom to explore.

When they turned twelve, her wealthy Japanese grandmother tracked down the child her arrogant son abandoned and offered her a life in Japan. Kuri encouraged her to follow this opportunity.

Her grandmother, Eri, was a woman who may also have been fluid in her youth if not for society’s expectations. She accepted her new grandchild with all her heart, helping Akiko choose her new name and hired a tutor to teach her Japanese ways.

However her father never acknowledged her existence, especially as the timelines become morally blurry. He married and fathered a child a mere seven months older than Akiko, a stepsister named Kamiko.

When Akiko was adopted, Osamu questioned his inheritance and encouraged his daughter to build a relationship with Obaasan Eri as well. Kamiko was competitive, a bully and a snob, alway jeering at Akiko when Obaasan wasn’t looking, and not wanting to cause trouble Akiko kept quiet.

Newly transitioned, settled into her new school, Shiba Koen Public Middle School. Everything was going well, until one day she blacked out… awakening as Dark Knight Ganymede.

Relationships

:Family:

Osamu was the reckless, egotistical son of a businessman, living a hedonistic life and never expected ‘boyish mistakes’ to catch up with him. Instead his father’s death revealed not only the 50/50 split of the Satsuki Inc with his mother, but also the lovechild he left behind. Furious and thwarted, he’s never recognised Akiko as his child, only as another rival for his inheritence.

Despite her start in life, Akiko could not have asked for more loving parents; Kuri and Bayani. Well off after some tidy investments, she was raised middle class in loud, crowded Manilla but more than anything they let her know it was okay to be true to herself.

Obaasan Eri is kind, loving but very shrewd. She’s excellent at reading people and there is nothing Akiko can hide from her to the point she wonders if the old woman can read her mind. She believes in honesty, and so was always disappointed with how her son turned out who has avoided consequences all his life. She protects her granddaughter from his cold, cutting insults and promised Akiko would always be family. It was Eri who introduced Akiko to the joys of the garden, although her arthritis stops her from joining.

Akiko has no contact with her stepmother other than a cold look from a limousine when her stepsister, Kamiko is dropped off.

:Friends:

Akiko, cautious about opening up to others, has always tended to prefer her own company. After being purified she falls back into her old friendships with the other Galilean Senshi.

Shina has always been her best friend despite their yin and yang personalities. After their reunion, each morning before parting ways for school they braid each other’s hair and gossip. They meet after school to hangout around Akihabara. While Shina prefers to ‘patrol for the criminal element’, Akiko is on the lookout for a cute new outfit.

Akiko’s friendship with Chinatsu and Momoka have always had clique-ish views on life. There are hierarchies in life, outsiders and an in-crowd of which they, the Galilean Guardian, are high class.

Chinatsu constantly tried to style herself leader of the Galilean Guardian; the logical, sensible but also bossy one. Her strictness on rules and honour appeals to Akiko but she is constantly expected to follow along rather than form her own opinions.

Momoko is sweet, dreamy and loves to cheer everyone up. She’s always telling her ‘don’t worry about it!’ This carelessness sends Akiko’s anxiety skyrocketing because although she’s a yes-man to a tee and absently follows along with whatever everyone else is doing at the time it will only last as long as you can keep her attention.

Outside of the Guardians, Akiko is also friends with Setsuna who recognised her attention to detail and offered her a junior assistant position in her research laboratory after school where she keeps inventory and records reference materials.

:Rivals:

Akiko tries to be understanding and welcoming of everyone because of her own feelings as an outsider. That is put to the test in the face of Kamiko, her prim, extravagant stepsister.

Kamiko’s disdain for Akiko is always beneath the surface, hidden to keep Obaasan happy but conversations are laced with insincere smiles, backhanded compliments and attempts to prove who is the better granddaughter.

She doesn’t know Akiko is trans, but she would definitely use it against her. A daddy’s girl at heart, she’s inherited her fathers smug temperament and refusal to face her mistakes.

Akiko trusts Shina with her life and shyly wonders if there could be more because no one wants her to love herself more than Shina.

Sailor Ganymede, Guardian of Autumn’s Change

:Guardian Starseed:

Sailor Ganymede treasures her true starseed of the moon Ganymede. During the Silver Millennium it was often described as its cornucopia because of its rich soil and agriculture. The Autumn Palace was a sprawling plaza open to its citizens and known for its mouthwatering festival days.

:Realm of Influence:

Sailor Ganymede’s influence is a reflection of autumn’s transition. She both reflects its ripening harvest and abundance, but also time’s passage and decay.

:Awakening:

Prince Maple is able to break through Eldar Bocuk’s brainwashing when Sailor Europa presents him with a photograph taken at last year’s Harvest Festival. It featured Akiko, her mother and father who flew over for a visit, her obaasan and a pumpkin overflowing the cart they dragged it in.

It reminded her she could be true to herself and for the first time transformed from Dark Knight Ganymede to Sailor Ganymede in a rush of chilling wind and leaves. However Akiko, with her willpower restored, knows the truth. A splinter of Eldar Bocuk’s corrupting ice remains embedded in her heart and she knows it, and Dark Knight Ganymede, could awaken any time.

:Past Life:

Once she was Prince Maple, the dutiful son of the Court of Ganymede who was constantly in the shadow of the loud, impulsive Princess of Europa. Already he felt judged by his parents for his lithe and petite build compared to other Knights of the Sol System. He shied away from the harsh weaponcraft of Eldar Calydon, choosing a softer life and academic pursuits. His interests led him to be good friends with the Galilean tutor, Eldar Bocuk who shared his love of Sol System history.

On Europa’s winter solstice, Eldar Bocuk took the opportunity to introduce them to the Ice Crystal Ruins. When the children scattered Maple tried to follow after the excitable Princess Frost, only to lose himself in the icy labyrinthine walls. Unknown to him, the corrupted teacher tracked and knocked out each child one by one and Prince Maple never knew what hit him.

To everyone, the children vanished in a mysterious blizzard, but for more than a year he and his friends were trapped in the deep dungeons of the ruins, undetected by the best of the Sol System. His once kind teacher was now his brutal and unforgiving master, enamoured by an ancient prophecy that he thought could make the royalty of Europa the new sovereigns of Sol.

It should have been a joy when Princess Frost escaped, but corrupted with hate, Prince Maple was sent to recapture her. The other Galilean Guardians failed, and were reincarnated in the next life with the splinter of ice still piercing their heart.

:Enemy:

Once the loyal head priest of Europa’s temples, Eldar Bocuk was one of the Galilean Guardians' many teachers. Kind, friendly but easily lost in academic interests, he thought it would be an excellent history lesson to see the Ice Crystal Ruins, once home to the royal family before a forgotten war.

Once defiled by the corruption trapped under the ancient palace, he became obsessed with the idea of Europa ruling the Sol System and used an ancient prophecy, Scourge of Seasons, which uses the Four Talisman of the Galilean Senshi to extinguish the light of the Sun.

:Guardian Animal:

Yuto was a young man from the exo-planet of Tytos and training under Dia. Its citizens are known for their owl-like shape. His natural form is that of a barn owl with glossy fawn and white feathers. His human form is a short, dapper boy in rich green Georgian era attire, both a little undersized even for Tytonians. This small size pushed him to be bright and full of energy, especially disliking when people try to tell him he can’t do something.

Yuto feels incredibly guilty because he snuck in behind Dia and as she freed Princess Frost, he tried to free Prince Maple but was too loud and attracted the attention of the guards. If he hadn’t been so impatient, maybe they could have rescued all the children…

:Allies/Team Mates:

Shina Yukime Tsukimi aka Princess Frost aka Sailor Europa aka the Winter Guardian She looks up to her best friend as the unofficial leader of the Galilean Guardians by her sheer charismatic optimism alone. Everything is possible if you believe! However, when the glitter wears off it often leaves Sailor Ganymede in the unenviable position of making it a reality. It leaves her exasperated and panicky of disappointing Shina because it’s clearly such a good idea!

Momoka Harukaze aka Princess Kiran aka Sailor Io aka the Spring Guardian Sailor Ganymede and Sailor Io are often sandwiched between the opposing personalities of Sailor Europa and Sailor Callisto. Io will agree to any plan with a cheerful smile but Ganymede also knows that any plan with Sailor Io as the lynchpin is likely to go astray as she loses focus easily.

Chinatsu Akino aka Princess Saki aka Sailor Callisto aka the Summer Guardian

Bossy and strict, Callisto puts a lot of faith in Ganymede’s plans, and doesn’t believe in taking chances. In theory they should get on well, both preferably choosing sensible plans but Ganymede doesn’t like the other girl’s condescending tone as she tells others what she wants.

:Henshin Token:

Usually Ganymede transforms with her Effigy, the Pentacle of Ganymede but without it Luna had to improvise their transformation tokens. With Dia’s help they were able to convert Akiko’s phone into her power focus. It’s a modern flip phone with a twist. Its outer case is peach, with an embossed vine motif around its edge and inside both screens are touch compatible.

:Henshin Phrase:

“Ganymede Moon Power, Makeup!”

:Henshin Sequence: Ganymede quickly punches in her code, 1031 (Halloween!), and clutches the phone to her breast, murmuring her phrase, “Ganymede Moon Power, Makeup!” and throws it above her head. As she does, leaves pour from the screen. First fresh green leaves billow around her body and cling to her arms forming gloves. As the wind carries the leaves they turn a crisp golden yellow and form her knee high boots. The wind springs up in a whirlwind around her body and the leaves continue to change into a burnt orange to form her skirt and collar. Finally the beautiful leaves ruffled her auburn hair with a final beautiful red maple leaf crumpled and decayed between her eyes revealing the symbol of Ganymede.

Finally, Sailor Ganymede the Fall Guardian is prepared to fight!

:Guardian Fuku:

Clad in the Sol fuku with the unique flutter sleeves of the Galilean senshi. Her primary colour is a slightly pastel pumpkin orange for her collar and skirt with a rich emerald green for her bows. She wears knee high boots with a split down the outer hem and embroidered with leaves and vines. She also has pumpkin shaped earrings dangling from their vines.

:Starseed Talisman:

It is only with Sailor Europa’s help and encouragement could she boost her powers and summon her Starseed Talisman. The Ganymede’s Brambling Lash is a whip that grows thorns on command to both bind and slash at the enemy.

:Attacks:

Ganymede Autumn Chorus

Sailor Ganymede twirls her finger conjuring an autumn wind that blows masses of colourful leaves to blind and distract the enemy.

Gothic Spirit Scare

Ganymede appears to meditate, going deathly still and staring blankly at the enemy. As she does misty forms take shape, looming spectres that stills the enemy’s heart and paralyses them with fear.

Hallowtide Razor Wind

Ganymede spins and windmills her arms, calling icy gusts sprinkled with the first autumn frosts to tear and slash the enemy.

Ganymede Seasonal Decay

This attack requires physical touch and accelerates ageing as Ganymede knows that everything has its time to live and die. She mostly uses it to decay inanimate objects such as weapons, rusting metal and rotting wood to weaken an enemy but this is actually her ultimate attack, one she refuses to use unless pushed to the brink and watch a creature whither and turn to dust before her eyes.
