Serana Reference
//click for better image quality … Time: 7hrs — 7hrs//
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Serana is a 4000-year-old vampiric Nord (physically in her mid-twenties). She is a spell-archer specializing in vampiric destruction, draining, illusion, and necromancy spells. She is part of Clan Volkihar, though has since broken ties with her family. As a Daughter of Coldharbour, she is able to turn into a Vampire Lord, which takes a were-bat type of form.
She was trapped in a stone sarcophagus until 4E 201, where she was freed by Dawnguard, who attempted to re-imprison her. After escaping the tomb, she was found wounded in her Lord form by Ego and Erandur, who helped her back on her feet and took her to Castle Volkihar. Feeling unwelcome in her home, she becomes independent from Volkihar and travels with Ego and Erandur, becoming an older sister figure to Ego and a daughter figure to Erandur.

Hot goth girlfriend finished! 3/6 for the Masquerade, woop woop! Next up is Miraak.
I’m not entirely sure how the Masquerade will side with the Dawnguard just get, but I do know that Serana will have Dawnguard armor, whether it’s gifted to her or she steals it lol

Confession: I don't get the hype about Serana and Aela. They seem boring to me and barely worth the time of day. I'd much rather marry Eola (or whatever her name is, the mage who betrays her coven of witches because enough is enough) than a crusty old vamp or a lycan. Nothing against those, but damn.

Drabble 110/366 - Skyrim
“How dare you come back here after being infected-” Isran never finishes that sentence. Dark-Water’s fist hooks the buckle of his vest.
“You won’t speak to me that way,” he says, low and blunt. “You won’t speak to Serana that way.” Isran’s hand is on an undrawn dagger as surely as lightning crackles between Serana’s fingers. Dark-Water’s grip loosens. “You came to me, Isran. This is how I fight your war.”
There’s no apology when Isran relents. Serana expects a bolt in the back. Instead: a cure. A crueler torment.
“To Morthal, then?”
“No. I will bear this with you.”

A rough timeline of the Snow Elf/Falmer history that we know of
While working on a fanfiction, I tried to figure out a rough order of events and when they happened for what we know about the Snow Elves and Falmer since they are pretty foggy in terms of dates. I mainly tried to figure out 1) when did the Night of Tears (and the start of the Snow Elf/Atmoran conflict) happen, 2) how long did the Snow Elf genocide last, 3) when did the Falmer evolve into the Falmer we know them as, 4) when was the Chantry of Auri-El built, 5) when did Vyrthur create the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy, and when (and how) did Harkon hear about it?
So here's roughly what I put together:
ME = Merethic Era (dates function like BCE), 1E = 1st Era
ME 1000-800 – First human settlements in Tamriel
ME 500s-100s - Atmorans land at Hsaarik Head and settle Saarthal
ME 100s – Night of Tears, war between Nords and Snow elves
ME 100s – Battle of Moesring (death of the Snow Prince)
ME 100s – Dwemer make deal with Snow elves
ME late 100s-0 – Dragon War
Early 1E – Construction of the Chantry of Auri-El
1E 200s – last of Snow Elves thought to be driven away/killed
1E 600s – War of the Crag
1E 700 – Dwemer disappear
1E 800s-??? – Chantry of Auri-El is attacked
1E ???-2300s - Vyrthur creates the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy
1E 2300s-2700 – Harkon discovers the prophecy and Valerica hides Serana away
4E 201 – Events of Dawnguard
Bolded = concrete canon dates directly stated somewhere Normal = dates with canon evidence, but never concretely mentioned Italics = dates I made up based on being between/before and after canon events
Now let's go through that timeline again but with my evidence and reasoning (under the cut for space):
ME 1000-800 – First human settlements in Tamriel
Frontier, Conquest, and Accommodation: A Social History of Cyrodiil cites the first human settlements on Tamriel having been dated to ME 1000-800 (Late Merethic Era) outside of Skyrim, which was colonized later.
PGE3 claims that settlers from Atmora sailed to Tamriel for hundreds of years in the Merethic, but that these included the Nedes as well, and it is implied they came over and settled south and potentially in High Rock first as the interbreeding that would lead to Bretons also begin occurring in the Late Merethic. My conclusion is that the Atmoran ancestors of the Nedes came to Tamriel and settled farther south several hundred years before the Atmoran ancestors of the Nords (according to legend) such as Ysgramor settled in Skyrim.
ME 500s-100s - Atmorans land at Hsaarik Head and settle Saarthal
Before the Ages of Man places the settlement of Saarthal in the Late Merethic Era, but as mentioned above, it was likely after several other Atmoran migrations had occurred earlier.
The UESP page on the Merethic Era puts forward two theories for when the settling of the Atmorans in Skyrim/Saarthal occured. To summarize, Kodlack Whitemane claims the Companions are "nearly 5,000 years old" dating them to at latest ME 550 (it has be 4,450 years since the start of the 1st Era). Alternatively, King Harald is said to be the 13th in the direct line of Ysgramor, and UESP thinks, assuming it is referring to generations, that would put Ysgramor as being alive in the ME 100s.
ME 100s – Night of Tears, war between Nords and Snow elves
The Snow Elves attack and raze Saarthal for reasons that have been lost to time, (supposedly) after having had peace with each other. Ysgramor returns to Atmora with his two sons and returns with the Five Hundred Companions.
This one has to have taken part not too long after the settling of Saarthal; Ysgramor is still alive and will live on for awhile after this, and for the sake of caution I'm putting this at the end of the range established in the previous point because it's one of the last things that we know of happening in the Merethic Era.
ME 100s – Battle of Moesring (death of the Snow Prince)
The Fall of the Snow Prince is the one source for the battle itself.
The Nords view this battle as sort of the final stand of Snow Elves, and took place on Solstheim.
Ysgramor led the Atmorans/Nords in this battle (according to the above), so he was still alive for this to take place, which is why I placed it in the same century as the start of the Snow Elf-Atmoran conflict/genocide.
ME 100s – Dwemer make deal with Snow elves
This journal from a Snow Elf in hiding suggests that the Battle of Moesring and the death of the Snow Prince was a major catalyst in deciding to seek out the Dwemer for aid, so whatever deal or alliance was made likely happened fairly soon after that battle.
ME late 100s-0 – Dragon War
Not necessarily relevant to the Snow Elves, but I was curious if the dragons could've been invovled in the conflict with them (and it's relevant to a scene from that fanfic I mentioned earlier)
Skorm Snow-Strider's Journal implies that the Dragon War had already occurred by 1E 139, and was long enough ago that finding dragon cultists was surprising.
UESP consistently lists the Dragon War as one of the last major events of the Merethic Era. It seems like once the Snow Elf population was significantly eliminated/driven out and the Atmorans/Nords began to significantly settle across the land that the Dragon Cult began to take off and become more tyrannical, inciting the Dragon War.
Personal headcanon: The method of Merethic dating originated with King Harald's Nordic scholars, but the event considered to mark the start of the 1st Era is the Founding of the Camoran Dynasty. I like to think that the original 1st Era Nordic event that marked the beginning of the 1st Era was the end of the Dragon War, but when this method of dating was adopted by Tamriel at large the founding of the Camoran Dynasty was adopted as the official start of the 1st Era.
Early 1E – Construction of the Chantry of Auri-El
Gelebor directly states it was built near the beginning of the 1st Era. This is sort of odd because it implies that there was enough of a presence and culture of the Snow Elves in the early 1st Era to put in the resources to build it. Additionally, Gelebor says, "The Chantry is quite isolated, so it took some time for word of the dwarves' offer to reach us here," an offer that almsot certainly happened before the 1st Era. (if I were to rewrite this timeline I would put it much earlier, pre-Atmoran involvement, but for the sake of consistency we will stick with canon for this post)
1E 200s – last of Snow Elves thought to be driven away/killed
In 1E 139, Skorm Snow-Strider's Journal details Lord Harald attempting to root out left over Snow Elves and Snow Elf "stronghold[s]". They are met with significant resistance and reports of attacks on local Nord settlements, however, the presence of Snow Elves is not treated as surprising, implying that this effort to wipe them out has been ongoing since the Merethic Era.
Meanwhile, PGE1 claims that the Snow Elves were considered "driven out" by reign of King Harald. He reigned form 1E 143 to 1E 221.
Given they were still present in 1E 139, but considered wiped out by at latest 1E 221, I concluded that this must've occurred over Harald's reign.
1E 600s – War of the Crag
The Falmer: A Study is the only evidence of this occurring, but it claims that at some point the Falmer under the control of the Dwemer, having already become the Betrayed, started a rebellion, eventually leaving the control of the Dwemer and settling into the deeper reaches of Blackreach. There, they continued in a conflict with the Dwemer called the War of the Crag.
According to the author of this paper, this conflict lasted for several decades and ended when the Dwemer disappeared, leaving the Falmer to freely spread throughout the underground of Skyrim. For this reason, it must've taken place in the 1E 600s.
1E 700 – Dwemer disappear
Kagrenac bonks the Heart of Lorkhan at the end of the War of the First Council. Rest in pieces, Dwemer. The entirety of the Falmer now have the freedom to spread and create their own communities.
1E 800s-2000s – Chantry of Auri-El is attacked
At some point, the modern Falmer invaded the Chantry of Auri-El and presumably killed everyone there except Vyrthur and Gelebor. Given that the Falmer had access to the Forgotten Vale to do so, and were organized and dangerous enough to do that sort of damage, this probably happened a significant amount of time after the disappearance of the Dwemer.
There are no other indications of a date when this happened, so basically all we have to go off of is "after the Dwemer disappeared" and "before Vyrthur created the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy", which itself doesn't have a date.
1E ???-2300s - Vyrthur creates the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy
So Vyrthur creates a prophecy for the sake of getting a Daughter of Coldharbour to him so he can use her blood to block out the sun to get revenge on Auri-El. How did he do that? How did it get out of the Forgotten Vale for Harkon to find out about? How did it end up on Elder Scrolls? Doesn't matter for the purpose of this timeline. We can presume it was after the Chantry of Auri-El was attacked (although we don't even know that for sure, but it's what I'm going with), but obviously before Harkon learned about it.
1E 2300s-2700 – Harkon discovers the prophecy and Valerica hides Serana away
This might not be relevant to the Snow Elves or Falmer as a whole, but it's relevant to Vyrthur's prophecy (in helping me work backwards to figure out when the attack on the Chantry happened) and the Dawguard quest, and many people have brought up before the context of Serana's "Cyrodiil is the seat of an empire?" comment so I thought I'd look into it out of curiosity.
Serana's empire comment is the only indication we have (that I'm aware of) of when Serana was sealed away (and therefore when Harkon learned of the prophecy), so let's look at Cyrodiil's empires:
The Ayleid empire ruled from sometime in the Merethic Era to the Alessian Slave Rebellion and the beginning of the Alessian empire in 1E 243. Obviously it was after this since there was no break between these empires.
In 1E 2321 the War of Righteousness would break out, leading to the dissolution of the Alessian Empire at its conclusion in 1E 2331.
The Second Empire started with the Reman Dynasty in 1E 2703 after the battle of Pale Pass. The 1st Era would end with the end of the Reman Dynasty and the beginning of the Akaviri Potentate, which would last until 2E 430. There wouldn't be another empire until Tiber Septim at the start of the 3rd Era. So there was a break in empires from 1E 2321 to 1E 2703 and from 2E 430 to 2E 854.
Harkon's UESP page claims he ruled over the Volkihar Clan after Serana's disappearance "for millennia" with a citation to the Skyrim Prima Official Guide, which I don't have, so I'll take the wiki's word on it. Knowing that, and acknowledging that by the time of Skyrim it has only been 634 years since the beginning of the Septim Empire, I assume that the mostly likely break in Cyrodiil empires for Serana to have been born and hidden away during was between the Alessian and Second Empires.
Did this matter? Only to help figure out a very minor detail in Gelebor and Vyrthur's timelines. Did I have fun trying to figure it out? yes!
4E 201 – Events of Dawnguard
-
I believe that's it! If anyone knows of anything I missed (or messed up) feel free to add or speculate on that as well!

Senu's Serana Volkihar Headcanons
I was enabled. Hehe. You will regret this
♛ Serana is right-handed. For reference, Vigdis is left-handed. I don't know I think it's cute--
♛ Because of her vampirism, she's cold to the touch.
♛ Serana doesn't even know how old she is exactly, so she just guesses that she was locked up in Dimhollow for over a millennia. However, she was turned around the age of 27.
♛ And, because of all that time spent in Dimhollow and her vampirism, Serana cannot sleep, which makes her perfect for keeping an eye out for danger during the night. [Vigdis would never tell her she appreciates it]
♛ In game she has an elven dagger, but I personally [in my fanfiction] gave her an ebony one. She later obtains Mehrunes' Razor.
♛ Due to her deep involvement with Daedric cults, she's actually quite knowledgeable on all of the Princes and their artefacts.
♛ She finds the sound of ocean waves and the smell of the salty sea comforting. And also that old, musty, dusty library smell. Ancient pages in leatherbound books and such and so forth.
♛ Her handwriting is elegant and slanted. It was imperative that she had neat handwriting when growing up.
♛ Serana really enjoys painting. She's not very good at sketching or people; rather, she has an eye for dramatic landscapes.
♛ She's very interested in architecture. Living in a really cool castle has always given her appreciation for complex structures.
♛ She frequented the library at Volkihar Keep often. Most of the books in the library actually have handwritten notes and doodles in the margins, showing just how much time she spent reading books.
♛ As a Daughter of Coldharbour, her Vampire Lord form is unique to her, and therefore she and her mother are ranked above Harkon, who did not have to suffer the same ritual as them.
♛ Referring to the last bullet, Serana has been a Daughter of Coldharbour for over a millennia. She can never fully purge the vampirism from her body--thus, when she is cured, she can still cast vampiric-esque spells . . . and flecks of glowing persimmon are still persistent in her irises.
♛ Because of her mother, Serana is really good at alchemy, but she prefers to focus her skills and talents on necromancy--which she can, on occasion, be cocky about.
♛ Although the Volkihar Clan owns dogs, she's actually more of a cat person.
♛ As a vampire, she can't really eat. She can handle small pieces of meat, but otherwise her diet is purely blood-based until she's human again.
♛ Serana is capable of blushing--it's just a lot more subtle compared to a human. When she's cured, of course, her blush will be more noticeable.
♛ The Forgotten Vale was her favourite place to visit, followed closely by Ancestor Glade.
♛ As a free-spirited person, Serana was never interested in taking over the Volkihar Clan, or being in any kind of leadership role. She prefers the freedom of travelling across Tamriel and exploring the world.
♛ She's a lesbian. To me. I'm not sorry. Vampires have NEVER been heterosexual EVER. They have been GAY since their INCEPTION and I intend to keep it that way goddamnit

So, there are a few ingredients that can be used, but some are not readily available for the average Wood Elf, such as a Daedra Heart. But others you can find solely off foraging. If you crush up a blue dart wing, combine with the shell of a Rock Warbler egg, and mix in Ash Hopper Jelly, you’ll get a concoction that will not only heal your wounds, but also grant you a resistance to shock damage, all while staying well in the bounds of the Greenpact!

A shot of all of Callum’s companions taking a well-deserved break browsing the collection at The Arcaneum.
Lucien (the one writing at the table) really wanted to visit the College of Winterhold to browse their large library. He managed to impress the College guard with his magic skill and gain access inside.
This took much longer than I would’ve liked ahh. Perspective and indoor scenes in general aren’t my forte but I’m going to practice slowly. I admit I traced a screenshot I took from Skyrim but changed some aspects of it. I also lost said screenshot for reference after I lined it so I did the lighting/etc,. mostly by memory.
From left to right the characters are (if you’re curious): Kaiden, Callum, Ma’kara, Serana, and Lucien. Everyone except Serana are from follower mods.
Yes, Callum has a pretty big party xD but it was nice to finally draw them all together.

My hot take? I fucking hate Isran.
It takes every fibre of my being to not side with the Volkihar vampires simply because he’s so fucking insufferable, and I have two OCs that - despite their massive differences - would agree on this.
First up is Edward Van Blagden. His entire family was murdered by vampires, and he only survived because he hid well enough. In the middle of nowhere, having never left the monastery, he had to resort to eating the monks who raised him before he could find his way to Riften. He heard of the dawnguard while he was there, and signed up immediately. Initially , he admired Isran’s stoic exterior and dedication… until he realised that Isran is ruled by his anger and is just content to sit in his little fort and stew in it. Isran doesn’t do shit, so Eddie takes matters into his own hands. He goes to Castle Volkihar, acts like a naive young man who has a secret lust for power, accepts Harkon’s gift and makes a beeline for Vingalmo because he knows he can appeal to him. Why? Because the only way he’s going to get shit done is if he tears apart Harkon’s court from the inside. He gets cosy with Vingalmo because it generates tension and chaos (and also because Vingalmo’s sexy, and Eddie knows he can get through to Vingalmo by method of wriggling into his coffin - “we’re both men, we understand our desires”). He helps Ronthil out and gains the boot-licking boy’s trust. He makes friends with Garan Marethi and keeps him close because out of everyone in Harkon’s court, he is the most weary of Garan (because Garan knows how politics works). He keeps Serana in his pocket. He sucks up to Harkon and plays the part of his perfect “pet vampire” so that he’s none the wiser. He becomes respected in the court, and without him really even exerting any sort of power, he becomes - as Vingalmo so eloquently puts it “the Darling of the Court”.
Only when he has the court in the palm of his hand does he finally unleash hell on Harkon. Eddie thinks that Isran’s a coward, too chicken to do this shit himself.
On the other hand, we have Melauriel aep Maedhgildur. He’s not as smart as Eddie, not as ambitious, but what he does have is buckets more empathy than him. And the empathy is how he comes to hate Isran. Melauriel and his childhood friend Erik both get turned into vampires after Erik gets attacked, and - against his kind nature - turns on and attacks Melauriel, traumatising him and infecting him. Mel was timid anyway, but his toxic levels of empathy for Erik stops him from putting himself first, and he joins the Dawnguard specifically to seek a cure for him, while his own disease is still spreading.
He runs around after Isran, doing all the dirty work while Isran twiddles his thumbs, growing more and more annoyed because he feels like he’s being used. Being a devotee and champion of Meridia, he’s becoming more and more subconsciously nervous of his condition, worried that his deity will abandon him, and when it finally turns him, it only half ravages him, turning him into a Dhampir because Meridia attempted to save him.
And only then does Isran just casually mention Falion in Morthal.
Melauriel is furious, but says nothing. The damage has been done. He takes Erik to Falion, and - since he has only one filled black soul gem - there isn’t enough for him to be cured too. With Erik cured, Melauriel storms back to Fort Dawnguard, finally ready to give Isran a mouthful… and then he sees Serana. Serana is being berated by Isran, he’s being a complete dick to her, and when he dehumanises her by consistently referring to her as an ‘it’, Melauriel snaps, and lets Isran know exactly what he thinks of him.
Melauriel takes Serana and Erik and leaves Fort Dawnguard to set up their HQ in another old Dawnguard tower. He only returns to the fort periodically now, to coldly converse with Isran simply to get his strategies, and that is it.

MIRAAK REFERENCE
//click for better image quality … Time: WAY TOO LONG (14hrs collectively)//
Tumblr media
Miraak is a 4000-year-old Atmoran (physically appearing in his late twenties). He is first a spellsword specializing in shock destruction, but later is classed as a battlemage. He was part of the Dragon Cult before leaving the cult and becoming the Champion of Hermaeus Mora, where he remained in Apocrypha for thousands of years, being preserved in an undead state.
He remained in Apocrypha until 4E 201, where he faced opposition from Ego, Erandur, and Serana before his subsequent jailbreak from Oblivion. With very little memories or concept of time, he stays with the Masquerade in an effort to regain is senses, though it will be a long time coming for him.
———
AAAAAAAA IT’S DONE. Finally JEEZ this one has been sitting in the WIP pile for WAY TOO LONG. 4/6 done for the Masquerade (with a bonus Rakell and Velehk likely coming after I’m done with the group). Sam is next!

Well, I'm getting to the point in RangerCamp where I have to start writing dialogue for the Rangers. And as every time I start trying to think of things for them to say my brain freezes up and I've never heard of these characters before in my life, I'm going to have to try to crowdsource.
The Rangers involved in the mod are Candaith, Radanir, Lothrandir, Corunir, and Golodir. Please let me know if you can think of random comments they might make to the player as you play!
For reference, here's a sampling of the kinds of things Skyrim AI is able to react to:
Player health
Player race
Vampire/werewolf status
What kind of clothes the player is wearing (light armor, heavy armor, mage robes, etc.)
Specific articles of clothing
What kind of weapon the player has equipped (both in the sense of daggers vs. warhammers and to a limited extent details like whether it's Daedric, what it's made of, etc.)
Player skill level (I.E. if you have a high pickpocket skill -- "Hands to yourself, sneak thief," etc. etc.)
Location types (like bandit camps, towns, Nord or Dwemer ruins, military camps, etc. etc)
Specific locations
Items the player has in their inventory
Enemy races
Enemy weapon/magic types
Player faction/crime rankings
Most of these things in combination
Probably other things I've forgotten about right now! Bethesda built a really involved system that they could have used to make followers interact with the player and then....... only used it for Serana......
Note #1: Getting followers in Skyrim to follow you is harder than it sounds (and probably should be). In order to avoid common glitches and in porting the player/ranger relationship over from LotRO (and to allow for basic debugging that I have found necessary to Skyrim gameplay in general), I have made it so that they will tolerate any crime committed by the player. In intention, this is to allow for them generally trusting the player and assuming that you have a good reason for doing illegal things like breaking and entering. (And to prevent them from randomly becoming hostile if you ask them to pick things up, and then hunting you across the entire map trying to murder you after you dismiss them. UTHGERD.)
In practice, you can attempt to murder a child in front of them and they will cheerfully join in. I would say that obviously I would never do this, but, I mean. I'm learning. I needed to understand how the NPC morality system worked.
Please don't do this.
More to the point of this discussion, there is no possibility of them ever saying, "No I'm not going to do that," or, "Maybe you shouldn't do that." They are 100% on board with literally anything you care to do or to ask them to do.
Note #2: I'm not really trying to work the Rangers into the lore of Tamriel at all. I don't think I could do that in a way that satisfied me and didn't bastardize both worlds' lore. So. No trying to tie them into the specifics of Tamriel's worldspace or explain how they got there please.
I also may not be able to include any given suggestion on account of the system to get NPCs to say things is real finnicky. Mostly it's a matter of loading an NPC with a line, pointing it in the right general direction, and hoping it hits your target, and sometimes it doesn't. See: guards in vanilla Skyrim commiserating with me on how stupid and unwieldy warhammers are while I actively have one equipped, I believe because I also had a high one-handed on that character? Anyhow. If the line interacts badly with the backend or doesn't hold up while testing then I won't use it, unfortunately.

For the Skyrim ask meme
Dog, Hagraven Claws & Windhelm ☺️💙
Hey! 👋🏻
Dog: Do you have any hobbies?
Writing, for one! 😆 I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, and playing Skyrim. I also enjoy painting! I use an iPad and procreate most of the time, but I used to do lineart traditionally. Should probably go back to that because I don't like making it digitally. I don't create art as much as I want to, but I do a lot of graphic design and that's fun!
Hagraven Claws: Favorite Daedra quest/weapon?
So I may have already put The Only Cure in the random category — it was purely for stealth archer reasons, you understand, so as far as Daedric quests go, it's not my favorite. Does the Thieves Guild questline count as one long Nocturnal quest? Just kidding! I like The Mind of Madness: even if that's watered-down Sheogorath, he's still funny. Plus he mentions Martin! Not that I count the references to Martin in Skyrim or anything. But my favorite weapon is definitely Dawnbreaker. Even if ESO apparently made it depressing.
Windhelm: Which follower does (OC's name) have?
Hmm, I'm going to assume you're asking about Leara since she's our current starlet. Does Leara have a follower (who, presumably, isn't the guy in my fic)? Not usually, no. Well, in-universe, she and my Dunmer thief, Jolinar Aren have done a lot of work together: Leara is the hero, but Jolinar is the one who knows Skyrim. In-game, on the other hand . . .
So fun story: I've made Leara four times: Original Leara as my first Skyrim character on an Xbox 360, PC Leara when I played Skyrim for five whole minutes on desktop, New Leara when OG Leara's savefile got corrupted and I missed her, and Switch Leara on my sister's Nintendo. OG Leara was all about followers! She got Lydia killed on the Throat of the World. She spared Cicero and took him to Fort Dawnguard, but Serana didn't like him. She then somehow lost Serana on Solthiem? Frea didn't seem to care, so that was sus. She also murdered Marcurio for Boethiah BUT SHE DIDN"T KILL ERANDUR OKAY
I guess, uh, Leara doesn't have a follower because they have a habit of dying around her.

I know Suzy is from Oblivion but I would kill for her and Serana to interact someday
i think if Minnie pulled some strings with their dad, she could bring Serana into New Sheoth and meet Suzy there. i definitely like to think she brings her husband Argis there for family dinners on special occasions, so what's the harm of another plus-one?
the thing is, Serana is frankly way too undersocialized to notice that Minnie, as the current Demiprince of Shenanigans, is too off-the-wall banana bonkers for most folks to handle. Serana has very little frame of reference for how "friends" and "normal people" are supposed to act, so she finds Minnie's odd combination of feverish mania and complete aversion to most forms of socialization to be fun and interesting without too much pressure to make chitchat. with other folks, including Argis, Serana has to navigate minefields of social cues and cultural context.
...which is why i think Serana would be completely unprepared to handle Suzy. where Minnie is happy to do parallel play, and likes to spend quality time by intently eating bees and dragonflies near you without talking, Suzy is a relentless busybody who cannot shut up and will never, ever mind her own damn business. i think Serana would just grab Suzy by the 24-inch waist and throw her noodly ass like a javelin. easier than asking her to Please Be Quiet.

1, 10 and 23 for The Elder Scrolls (any game, any part of the lore, etc)
Choose Violence Ask Game
Heck yeeee, moreeee! Ok!
1: The character everyone gets wrong Oh goshhhh, I have a few of these. Namira, Mehrunes Dagon, Sheo (in a bad way), Meridia (also in a bad way), Mannimarco (to varying levels), Hannibal Traven... gonna go with Dagon though because he is my bestest boy, Daedric Prince #1. I see a lot of him as a dumb, destructive, senseless, brute. And a satan stand in, besides, (as if that wasn't Molag Bal's job. Bah!) just for his general hellish aesthetics. But I feel what doesn't get talked about enough are all his positive aspects. He is Hope. He is Revolution. He is the downfall of tyrants and despots. His destruction is a means to an end (change) not solely an ends in and of themselves. He just makes a really easy threat because his prime thing is fucking with the status quo and often heroes are working within said status of quo. Beyond that, I think he's a lot cleverer than folk give him credit for. He can be cunning. He can manipulate. He's penned at least one big world altering book, which is normally a Mora thing. And I've always headcanon'ed that his title of 'Lord of Razors' isn't just a literal title referring to blades. That it also refers to philosophical razors. But that's going into my little blorby headcanon depiction of Dagon so I'll stop there xD
10: Worst part of fanon As a whole? How gung-ho some parts of it can be to accept out-of-game texts as primary sources. DO NOT GET ME WRONG, out of game texts can be super interesting and contain a lot of interesting stuff in them, and can often tie into actual confirmed canon down the line... but also they should be treated as a secondary, or even tertiary, sources at best. They can support a theory/idea/argument but they cannot stand as the base of it. For a more specific thing, though? The one thing that riles me up like NOTHING else? How eagerly certain parts of the fandom gobble up 'Notes on Racial Phylonegy' as gospel. It is clearly a super biased text and has been disproven multiple times. I think the thing about it that irks me the most is how almost the entire ESO RP community has taken it as gold standard of proof that 'khajiit cannot interbreed with other species'. My guys, if khajiit are incapable of interbreeding with the other races of Nirn then so are dunmer, bosmer, and orsimer. They share the EXACT same origin as the bosmer. They both came from the same primordial shapeless beings. They were given altered forms by a daedra, as were dunmer and orsimer. Just because they can (depending on moon cycle) look a bit funkier doesn't mean, in my strong opinion, they should be discounted. It just... aghhh. I won't ramble about it it always frustrates and angers me no end. It is my pet peeve.
23: Ship you've unwillingly come around to Dragonborn x Serana. I mean, there are a few others, but that is the main one. Honestly its mostly because I just... really dislike serana actually? IDK. She gets on my nerves a lot and I'd rather not deal with her. But beyond that, she is almost certainly heavily traumatized and she needs a lot of time to work through that and get some help before throwing her in any ships IMO. She does not strike me as in a good mental headspace.

Skyrim headcannon pt.2- Antagonists
Aye we got the antagonists now!!! I have three rn. I say antagonist cus they're not villains per say? Idk. Redemption arc and shit except for one. So let's get into it huh?
Azrael- Harkon's Protégé
Not to be confused with Azireth, the dunmer... He is a Daywalker vampire lord (race is redguard) even more powerful than Harkon himself. He's 6ft exactly and he's muscular due to the vampiric ways. He charmed the ladies of Dibella in Markarth, and met his now wife, anwen there.
Azrael was different from birth... He had known something made him special. More powerful than many. He actively searched for power. Drawn to Skyrim, He kept under the radar but something still called to him. He wasn't like the Nords anyway. Walking the coast that lined the Sea Of Ghosts... He felt it draw closer and more powerful. Then spotted the castle on the horizon. Was this his next source of power? Taking the boat he made his way... There he was met by the gate keeper who asked his purpose. There he said he sought the power calling to him. He was directed to Harkon, where the gift was given to him. A vampire lord was born. He kept his head low.... He had already sensed jealousy in orthjolf and vingalmo. years went on... Civil war erupted and new whispers of vampire hunters came up. Azrael continued his work. One day someone had brought back Harkons daughter, serana... Unknown to him it was Tiberius. He watched from the balcony. Something was off... But he couldn't put his finger on it. He just continued to work towards what he was to do. Finding the blood chalice and ways to make it more powerful. However on one fateful day he came back to the slaughter of his people. Stunned, he looked for Harkon. Both orthjolf and vingalmo clung to life, begging for azreals help.. but no. Azreal stabbed vingalmo and crushed in orthjolfs head as punishment to them. After he found Harkon in the chapel... Dying. Azreal promised to carry on his legacy. And in his last breath, Harkon gave azreal his heart for the Blood challace to make it powerful and to drink. There he mixed it and drank from it... Becoming a more powerful vampire than what he was... A new vampiric threat... Making new breeds of vampires that Skyrim has never seen.

Cadhlah- Vigilant gone Mad
Name is pronounced Kai-lah. Name derives from Ireland and means beautiful/graceful. She is a Breton. Height is 5'5, and is much shorter than the other entries.
Ah Skyrim... The place of the Daedra worshippers... Or of course that's what Cadhlah saw. A student at the winterhold college (during Savos Arens time) turned Vigilant of Stendarr... She spent years cultivating her craft and her strong held belief. What many do not know is her dark secret... The fact she was a necromancer previously, before turning to a vigilant. She kept it hidden... Until the post she knew was wiped by vampires. She hated them with a burning passion. She watched families be torn apart by them. She didn't stand back idlely. Before the raid though, she was appointed as an enforcer, armed heavily with Stendarrs might. After the attack tho, she had a short stint with the dawnguard... But she felt that they didn't do enough. Especially since they didn't have the source of where it was. She left, still searching. She saw herself as pure even with her necromantic ways. After the second wave of vampire breaks... She had it. Armed as the Paladin of light (or what she referred to herself as), she and her two enforcers traveled to cyrodiil and confronted Tiberius on his handling. Accusing him of letting it happen for too long and accusing him of outrageous things. She wouldn't have it... She went back and went on a rampage, killing those who she saw as "unholy". But that would be her eventual downfall....

Eivor Wolftooth- the wolf of the storm
Yea this is literally a name homage to AC-Valhallas Eivor wolfkissed. She's 5'9 and is one of the only female captains in the stormcloak rebellion. She serves beside Ulfric. This one is a bit short so I apologize
The rebellion was her calling. She was one of the ones captured during the ambush that saw her in helgen. That day she thought she would have died, but by Talos hand, she lived to fight on. Before she joined, she was a companion and a part of the inner circle... A werewolf. She could smell blood and track things for miles. As the war went on, she became battle hardened and ruthless to the Imperial Bastards. Her unit was known as "the Wolf Unit". She had gained the favor of Ulfric like Fenrir did... But unlike him, she stayed by Ulfrics side after the war. After catching word of a "new rebellion" she was ready to wipe it out by any means necessary.

Anyway that's that. Feel free to ask about any of them. I'll do my best to answer about them. Pretty much no limits to what u can ask 👀
