sfw. warnings: one mention of titans, but that’s about it! there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

author’s note: the reader is gender neutral and the pronouns that are used are you/your.

you, eren yeager, levi ackerman, and the rest of squad levi had just finished an old scout base where they will prepare for the upcoming scouting mission. but that wasn’t important now. what was important was that you— along with many of the others— were exhausted from a hard day’s work of cleaning and captain levi’s strict demands for the place to be spotless didn’t necessarily make things easier.

“hey, y/n…” petra spoke up, tearing you away from your thoughts. “you don’t look so good, is everything okay?” she asked which prompted the others to stop eating and stare at you for some sort of response. levi was at the far end of the table, lifting his cup to his lips to drink some of his tea, and once he heard that you weren’t up to par, he stopped.

“yeah.” you let out a small yawn. “i just think i overworked myself,” you reached over and messaged one of your shoulders, groaning. “that and i feel a headache coming on.” you wished that you were back home and have someone like doctor yeager to give you proper treatment, so you didn’t have to suck it up.

“oh, boohoo!” oluo said, suddenly. “we faced man-eating creatures and you’re worried about a little ol’ headache?” oluo bozado has a reputation for trying to copy their dear captain levi, such as his rough speech and confident attitude, which caused him to be at slight odds with petra. but you know what they say: imitating is the best form of flattery. despite knowing this, it didn’t make his comment any less humiliating.

you decided now to bite your tongue. for now.

“that’s enough.” levi bowed his head. your undivided attention snapped toward the captain and watched as he, slowly, stood up which caused the wooden legs of the object to slightly scrape against the ground, the noise echoing in the rather empty place. “y/n,” his cold and unreadable fell on you. you tensed. “i suggest you go to bed. i’ll make some tea for you in the meantime.”

the room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop if it did. the only sound that accompanied the main hall was the heels of levi’s boots clicking against the ground which only grew quieter when he left the table before he opened the door with a loud crrrk and then left to prepare your tea.

“what was that all about?” eren mumbled under his breath, looking around innocently once there was no sight of the captain.

“i think it’s pretty damn obvious what it was.” gunther smirked mischievously before suddenly pressing his weight against you, resting his side and head on you, in dramatic fashion. “looks like y/n’s got themself a little admirer. better watch out, petra. you got some major competition.” the blond joked.

“you jerk!” petra scowled once her devotion to the captain was brought up.

because of gunther’s little comment, a small spat broke out between him and petra. he tried to reassure it that he didn’t mean anything by it by raising his hands whilst petra continued to take it personally. while this was happening, you couldn’t help but wonder if there was some truth in the whole ‘levi having a soft spot for you’.

but there was one thing you knew for sure: the raised voices of petra and gunther sure as hell weren’t helping out your headache. if anything, it just caused it to worsen. making you seethe and wince at the pain. “hey, uh, guys?” you spoke up. “i think i’m going to head to bed. i’ll see you all tomorrow, yeah?”

“oh…goodnight then, y/n!”

“sleep well.”

“cya.” oluo dismissed your goodbye. again: he tries too hard to be like captain levi.

“see you later!” petra shouted, trying to be louder than the rest of the boys.

“yeah…get better soon.” eren said.

letting out a small huff, you hurried out of the dining hall and made a beeline toward the barracks. once inside your room, you stripped off your day clothes and slipped into your more comfortable night ones. sinking onto your bed, you sighed in relief as the tension slowly ebbed away.

but before you could find any solace, a knock at the door startled them.

"come in," you called, your voice a little groggy from the pounding headache. the door creaked open, and there stood levi, his usual stoic demeanor intact. he held a steaming cup of tea in his hand, and without a word, he approached and handed it to you, being cautious not to spill a drop. “oh…thank you.”

you accepted the tea but hesitated to drink it. gunther's earlier comment about levi still lingered in their mind, casting doubt on the situation and your relationship as a whole with the captain. it’s no doubt that you had grown to have feelings for the man, but you always thought that you were good at hiding it…

levi noticed your reluctance and broke the silence, his voice crisp and unreadable, "what’s the matter? you don't want it or something?"

quickly shaking your head, you took a few tentative sips of the tea to please him. it was soothing, the warmth spreading through Your body and providing a momentary respite from your headache. after seeing that you at least had something to help your headache, levi, almost begrudgingly, turned to leave the room.

but just as he reached the door, you couldn't bear the uncertainty any longer. “captain?” you called out his name, stopping him in his tracks, but he didn't turn around to fully face you. he simply wanted to hear if you had any departing words before he too turns in for the night. you, however, had other plans since you decided to confront the unspoken question that had been hanging in the air. "what do you think of me?" you asked, your voice trembling ever so slightly.

the captain, at first, didn’t do a thing. just stood there. was he trying to think of the right words? what if the thought of your relationship hadn’t crossed his mind? after a moment of silence, levi shifted his body, turning to face you. his expression, as always, remained inscrutable.

you felt almost stupid for asking such a thing. “you know what? just forget i said anything…” you trailed off, looking away bashfully.

without a word, levi stepped forward and leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. it was a brief, soft touch, but it conveyed a depth of emotion that words often failed to express. he whispered, "get some rest," before straightening up and leaving the room, leaving you with a mix of emotions and a much lighter heart.

Hi again!

I love the OG Levi Squad, haha. It's just sad that we really don't get to spend much time with them before they're killed. So it's a little hard to form an opinion on most of their personalities. Really, I think Petra and Oluo are the only ones we get any, real look at in terms of personality, and it's funny, because they're both obviously enamored with Levi.

But Oluo is especially kind of funny, because he practically idolizes Levi and tries to actually pattern himself after him, but he's completely different from Levi in terms of personality, so it doesn't really work, lol. He's very outwardly emotional and a little silly, and he kind of focuses on making himself into an efficient titan killer to try and emulate Levi, trying to make it a contest between him and the other squad members for who's "most like Levi". One of the funnier moments in the story is when Petra calls him out on it and tells him he acts nothing like Levi, because Levi doesn't brag and doesn't need to brag about his prowess in killing titans. Everyone knows he's the best. So calling him the first Levi fangirl seems accurate, haha.

What's really interesting is that Levi isn't someone I would call charismatic. He's not the sort of person that draws you in and gains ones admiration through his winning personality, lol. He's so blunt and honest that, in fact, it tends to have the opposite effect, and turns people away. So his squad's admiration of him, we have to assume, can only come from getting to really know him, and coming to respect him for who he is. And I think that's sort of the case with everyone who gets to know Levi. He isn't going to charm you, but once you spend real time around him, you realize what a good man he really is, and how much he genuinely cares about others. And I think Oluo's desire to be like Levi really comes from that. He wants to be a hero, and he sees Levi as a real hero, so he tries to pattern his behavior and even his look off of him. I think it must be weird for Levi too, because he probably thinks he's the last person anyone should try to be like, even as we know Levi's actually an extremely admirable, even idyllic man. But it's kind of testament to Levi's authenticity, that once you really get to know him, that's when people start to really respect him and even want to be like him. We see it happen with the 104th too. They're all a bit iffy about Levi at first, but by the end of the story, they trust and respect him more than just about anybody else.

I think Petra must be the same. She has that exchange with Eren early on about Levi not being what people expect him to be. He's known to the public as "Humanity's Strongest", but when you meet him, he's this short little guy with a seemingly bad attitude. People hear his title and probably expect someone like Erwin. This idealized image of a real man, tall and shining and perfect. But then, you don't really see anyone trying to be like Erwin within the actual SC. I think, after a while, it's Erwin who maybe comes across as more unreachable and on a pedestal than Levi, and it's Levi who people begin to connect with and feel closer too. Even Erwin felt that way, opening up to Levi and revealing his true self to him when he couldn't with anyone else. I think people appreciate Levi's sincerity after a while, because they realize it means they can trust him. Charming people are often charming because they're liars and manipulators. Levi's the opposite of that.

So, yeah, I think the OG squad really admired Levi and wanted to be like him because they'd spent probably more time around him than anyone else, and came to know him well as a result. They knew they could trust him and rely on him, and understood that, despite his stoic demeanor, he's actually incredibly compassionate.

Crack poll time.....

Captain Levi Motherfucking Ackerman.

Maybe not my personal favorite, but a character we all love and respect. And barring Armin Arlert, the only consistent good in the series from start to finish.

So my question today is this:

As far as I'm concerned, neither ending cuts it. I'm not even going to mince words on that one.

Really any chance Levi had at a truly satisfying ending went out the window with Hange's death. His last surviving best friend and the last person you could argue he might've settled down with in peacetime.

In my opinion, not even Attack on Titan's most popular character received any due justice for the crap he endured. Both endings are totally half-assed, and his connection with these characters is superficial and surface-level. I've always said before he has NOTHING with Gabi or Falco, and I stand by that. The anime ending I think suggests somebody else felt the same way. But saddling him with Yelena, who essentially boils down to a terrorist who actively aided the man who left him horribly maimed......Think about that. Very much a similar case of how he never punished Annie for the loss of his squad.

We never even got a clarification on his connection to Mikasa. Once again, NO RIVAMIKA FANS, you are not allowed to bring your bizarre shipping fantasies on that front here.

I'd like you all to be honest with yourselves........You can't be happy with Levi's treatment in this last season. I sure as hell am not. Nothing about this ending works, and his apparent outcome is no exception as far as I'm concerned.

Would Levi let these people babysit your kid?

Erwin: He would but only for a few hours, he trusts Erwin with a lot of things but his kid? Not so much. Erwin never held a baby, he wouldn't be able to handle a toddler and Levi is afraid thay Erwin would forget about your kids since he is busy with work.

Hange: He trusts them too just not with his kid, even if his kid has fun anytime they babysit them, he has to explain to them that they can't experiment anywhere near his kid.

Nanaba: Yes and surprisingly she is good with kids. Although it takes her a bit to get comfortable around the kid, she manages. You have to ask her twice, it is kind of hard to convince her.

Miche: So so, unlike Nanaba, Miche isn't good with kids, he would be like a silent guardian watching over the kid like a hwak.

Moblit: Out of everyone, Levi would definitely let Moblit babysit. He knows how caring Moblit can be, he still warns him not to drink around your child tho.

His squad: Yes, they don't let him down in anything so he has no problem leaving them to look after his child. Petra is especially sweet with the kid.

Eren: Actually he would but would check up every 15 minutes to make sure that Eren's dumb ass isn't messing up.

Mikasa: He would, she would care and be careful with his kid more than anyone in that squad. She is also has a soft spot for the kid despite denying so.

Connie, Jean: You have to beg him for this if there is no other option. Levi explains to them 300 times what they can and can't do. Connie is also good with kids, he has siblings too so he can handle the little Ackerman, most of the time at least.

Sasha: Yes, she knows how to handle kids because she has younger siblings and is funny so your kid would have fun. Levi isn't surprised that the lunch box from his kid is empty for once.

Historia: He would, she is sweet and besides, she can use it as training when she has her own.

Ymir: Nope. She said "Fuck them kids" and Levi doesn't even try asking.

Kenny: Absolutely not. Do I even need to explain why not?

Happy Birthday to Best Girl, Petra Ral!

A big shoutout to one of Attack on Titan’s best girls on her special day, and one of my top favorites in the series. 

Petra I think definitely holds a special place in a lot of our hearts, and it’s no wonder why she’s the fan favorite in the Special Operations Squad. There’s just so much to love in the small but fiery package that is Petra. 

She can be meek, but her strength is only matched by the size of her heart. She is fierce and hot blooded but compassionate, and is the glue that holds the squad together in the worst of times. And one of the few that can get through to icy characters like Captain Levi. To me, she has a very Sasha-like appeal to her, and it’s a presence like that that Attack on Titan, and its creator, should never have taken for granted. 

Petra is such a fascinating girl and easily could’ve been the hero of her own story. She certainly earns that chance in my book. Still so much to learn about her character, and so much to love in trying to gleam what we are able through the time we had with her. Petra’s the kind of gal who deserves the world, for which she always has given her heart. 

In our world, Petra Ral would be a Sagittarius, which corresponds to the element of fire on the Zodiac. Petra’s spirit is definitely one that has always shone fiercely and brightly. And while Sagittarius, represented by a bow and arrow sounds like something more befitting of Sasha, it still stands as a testament to Petra’s strength and determination. Optimistic, wise, and always looking at the bigger picture, for those she truly lives up to her sign. 

Lots of love to Levi’s best girl! Petra should’ve been one of the heroes of Titan. This is a protection blog for Petra Ral, she’ll always have a home here as she does with so many longtime fans. 

There is no Attack on Titan without Petra Ral.
