the hashira are fun but shinobu is my favorite bc she consistently kept up her level of crazy from her introduction to her death. like all the other hashira are introduced as incredibly eccentric but calm down considerably by the time they exit the story, or their behavior is explained as a byproduct of their unique life experiences, humanizing them. not shinobu. she goes from tormenting demons psychologically before killing them to nearly stabbing giyuu (who at this point is probably the hashira she's closest to, going by sheer amount of canon interaction) in the face with a spring loaded knife she keeps in her shoe to injecting herself with lethal chemicals just so she can kill the guy that eats her. tanjirou says she literally smells like flowers and pure concentrated anger can you fucking imagine? like there was never a moment where shinobu half-assed the shenanigans and people will still remember her as a calm healer archetype. i will die mad about it tho.

Detco really needs to focus on cases and basic character development and stir away from nuanced topics. My friends and I are watching this goofy Japanese spy show called Game of Spy where the bad guys are Filipino terrorists clearly being played by white guys who have the worst Tagalog I've ever heard and this is the funniest evening I've had in years.

It's got fucking everything. The ridiculous spy gadgets, over the top violence right out of Yakuza, a James Bond theme ripoff and plagiarized Mission Impossible dialogue, kooky Japanese nationalism, and SO much casual racism towards Filipinos (down to clips of Manila getting the same yellow filter Hollywood uses for Mexico) that it ends up just being so fucking funny to me. The Filipino terrorist mastermind is a goddamn bootleg Chuck Norris (yes it's a white guy) called Vince. Holy shit.

The best part though? It's got Long Long Man as one of the spies.
