and how small is your small fandom? is it less than 100 fics? maybe even...less than 20 fics?

welp, then it's time to make peace with that god and either open up a text document or learn how to ship everything, because it's swim or drown babey! and your ship is sinking fast

anyway all of this is to say that after hanging out in small fandoms and shipping less-common pairings for a while, going back into a Big Huge Fandom™ is wild because suddenly it's like...wait, why didn't I ship these people again? Summer headcanons in honour of me buying sunscreen for my poor dad who is already sunburnt (Irish white man genes </3)

Abigail skulks around at night and in dark places, she avoids the sunlight like she’s Nosferatu and her body will burn into ash if it hits her skin. Hates the sweating, hates the memories of fever and priests. Actually wears white so she can avoid fucking boiling in her usual all black. She gets sleepy and irritable because the heat makes her tired. Autumn can’t come any sooner.

Max gets a really patchy tan from all the clothes he wears at his job. Never wears shorts so he looks like a milk bottle, all white on the bottom. Tries to get a BBQ going with his neighbours (or the ones closest to him anyway) and chugs beer and coke like his life depends on it bc he read it was bad to get dehydrated once. Has to go cool off in a nearby lake, then shakes off like a dog.

Zach hangs his usual trenchcoat over his car seat and just starts wearing tank tops instead. His complexion gets this shiny glow to it like he’s revitalised by the sun. Has those tinted aviator sunglasses to help him see through the brightness. Drinks a lot more bc he gets thirsty, mostly Diet Pepsi when he’s driving and can’t drink. Hates the Summer bugs the most.

Jude’s freckles explode. Goes red in the face, but a healthy red, like an apple. Loves the late evenings when the sun is still up and shining and how the lakes and rivers they pass shimmer. Wishes things could’ve been different and that her parents could still be here to see it too, that kind of thing. The only thing that annoys her in Summer is feeling the pressure to shave her legs bc she’s wearing her shorts now.

Ciarán appears less often because the nights are shorter and the days are longer, but he seems happy. Lingers around meadows and rivers, letting Gormlaith graze and lap at the water. Fascinated by how different mortal fashion is through the decades. He remembers a time when the swimsuit wasn’t allowed at all.

Adam’s skin is brown and cracked from hours baking under the sun. The flowers seem extra eager to be around him, bouncing up and down happily. Big fat bumblebees come to drink their fill and buzz around him as he plays guitar. When night comes he dances around the bonfire with his brothers and sisters of the Green.
