sunday six

another monday sunday six! (barely monday cause it's 2am right now and a little earthquake woke me up). i was tagged by @overdevelopedglasses this week, thank you! i saw some of you already posted so i will tag two other usual suspects @c-cw-f-saeko and @passthroughtime and anyone else who wants to share!

i was busy this long weekend TT but i'll share what i have written since last sunday six :)

(lost judgement spoilers) this is a continuation of the post-LJ au with kuwana and mitsuru, who are living together in ehime after reiko's arrest. you can read more of it in my sunday six or fic tag!

“I used to swim!” Mitsuru cries with a mouthful of fabric.

Kuwana hangs over him like wet laundry. "Things change," he offers simply.

His words stain him with sympathy over consolation. He states it like a fact, though, Mitsuru's little heart remained the same--perhaps nostalgic for a time when he could trip over his own feet. He sobs, grieving a life he fantasized about having. Marriage, children, retirement by the beach, swimming with no destination--those impossible things used to be important to Kuwana, too. But they witnessed a miracle, the two of them, and it was held in the atom-small grasp between their hands. Crying--a sure-fire sign of a natural, thinking life--had returned the strength to his voice. Mitsuru is alive. The more he cried the more alive he must have felt. The nerves in his hands could feel and know the shapes in front of him. Kuwana wipes his tears and snot again, and the shape of Mitsuru's face prints itself on the rind of his sweatshirt sleeve. He would hang it dry in the evening, and the print would disappear.

"It's my fault," Mitsuru whimpers quietly. "I can't swim. It's my fault."

Kuwana stands up and extends his reach, releasing Mitsuru’s misty red hands in favor of a spot under his arms. “You can still swim,” he says.

“No,” he musters childishly.

"Here. It’s okay. It’s okay, let’s go." He lifts. Mitsuru slumps forward a bit, then all the way. “Let’s go swimming.”

sugar pie, honey bunch (chapter two)

“I still think this is a terrible idea,” Bucky says into the phone. In the house behind him, the rest of the contestants are getting their mic packs hooked up; Bucky figures he’s got a few more minutes before a PA comes looking for him. For now, there’s enough chaos inside that nobody should notice that he’s missing.

He’s ducked behind a hideous water fountain where a weirdly buff Cupid aims an arrow toward the grounds, almost directly at the white tent in the distance.

“You’re gonna be great, Buck,” Steve is saying, all warmth and conviction, and something loosens in Bucky’s shoulders in spite of his determination to stay grumpy. “You’ve already done this once before, and I don’t care what you say; I know you had fun last time.”

He tries to figure out a way to say that this time around, he won’t have his best friend with him, but every version in his head just comes out petulant. 

It doesn’t matter. Like he somehow managed to hear Bucky anyway, Steve continues: “Sam will be there, too, you know. It’s not like you’re walking into a room full of strangers.”

Bucky scoffs. “I’ve talked to Sam Wilson maybe twice in the past four years, Steve.”

Saturday Six (Stuff - but on Sunday)

I went to the coast for my Bff's mom's funeral service & memorial. It was not good times.

My Bff's brother seems like a good guy, to everyone else, but a long while back, my brother said some bs to him, and I've been persona non grata, for no good reason, ever since.

I went through so many damned old photos. So many shitty photos lol.

Please, I beg you, have your parents and grandparents LABLE YOUR FAMILY PHOTOS. I went through so many photos of people that my friend had NO IDEA who they were. Just some ancestors.

Also, have your parents and grandparents make wills that clearly designate their final wishes about everything. All their burial wishes, money, and THINGS. Fighting over stuff is so stupid after a death.

Being made to feel like you're not valuable is really shitty. Please don't make your friends and family feel that way. Also, transactional relationships are bullshit.

And seven because - As you can probably tell I had a shite time this week. Please tell those you love, whether they're real or chosen family, that you love them, and mean it.

Summary:

It's been almost a year since Jack Frost thawed and things are looking...well, not so great. Jack's powers are seemingly gone. Without them, the Dome that keeps the North Pole safe from the cold and its magic controlled, is melting, putting everything and everyone at risk.

Unable to hide his power shortage any longer, Jack is forced to admit the truth. Thankfully, there is a solution: enacting the Legate Law, bringing Jack and the sister that he hurt so many centuries ago back together again.

But when Jacqueline starts experiencing destructive blackouts, the pair are forced to head back home to Crystal Springs, bringing Jack face to face with the rest of the family.

Needless to say, between getting his powers back, helping his sister figure out what in the FROST those blackouts even were, reconciling with his parents, meeting the two even younger siblings he didn't even KNOW he had, NOT TO MENTION the ancient threat that's had it out for the ENTIRE Frost family finally making a move?

Saving Christmas (regrettably) is looking to be a little bit...complicated.

Welll... it's only taken me three days shy of 4 years and 2 months since I asked for 5+ headcanon prompts and probably at least 4 years since you made this request, Anon (if you, by any chance, happen to still be out there, lol), but I am finally getting around to fulfilling that prompt! (And thank God, it is the last of its kind! ...And yes, I realize that I made this way harder on myself than it was supposed to be, but I'm still allowed to feel the great relief! Ha!).
