Fal's consciousness returned to him with a metallic "sping" as the aetheryte winked him back into existence. He'd enjoyed the split second trip through the aetherial sea, and he now deeply resented the fact that he had to be back in the company of his overtaxed brain and exhausted body.

But at least he was home, and it appeared to be a quiet night. Pushing open the door to his cottage, he was met with a wall of dense, hot air - the consequence of having a well-lit home in Thanalan and leaving it closed up all day. And today it had the added stink of the leather he'd been tanning the day before. It was like stepping into Ifrit's armpit.

With a sigh somewhere between annoyance and despair, he threw his "grimoire," hat and outer robe inside. Not waiting to see where or how they'd landed, he about-faced and slammed the door behind him. And, on tired legs that felt like pudding, started to walk.

Past his neighbor's wisteria tree, he reached up and undid the tie in his hair and shook it loose, letting it fall free over his shoulders… which didn't make much difference since most of it had already escaped the bounds of his ponytail and was sticking up in ten different directions amidst the humidity of the night.

As he entered the tunnel that lead to the Brimming Heart subdistrict, he peeled his shirt off over his head, briefly re-experiencing the various unpleasant smells and textures of a day of adventuring as they slid up and past his face and through the air to land on the ground behind him.

Next, he deftly undid his belt and stepped out of his longkilt, which was muddy and bloodied enough to nearly stand up under its own power. His boots came next, although the effort of unlacing them while he was still walking nearly sent him face-first into the cobblestones. Undaunted, he strove ever forward, latching onto the sound of a low, soothing roar that definitely wasn't the waters of the Rhotano, but was close enough.

Had he brought someone along for this trip, he might have turned his undressing into some kind of erotic striptease, but it had been such a long day and he was such a gods-damned mess that he felt more like a matted sheep shedding layer after layer of hot, smelly wool. And so, off came the smallclothes with very little ceremony or pretense.

Now fully in the altogether, he stepped out of the tunnel, into the heart of the Goblet. Not a single other soul was around, although he honestly wouldn't have even cared if there was. He nearly fell down for the second time as he failed to catch sight of an opulent sandstone planter before tripping over it, but he couldn't even be bothered to swear, because his mind was already where it wanted to be. His body just needed to catch up.

In weary silence, he raised his head like a supplicant to look adoringly at the sky. Though the yellow of the streetlights muddied the view a bit, the stars were still quite magnificent, the two sources of light harmonizing serenely on the shifting pool that lay at his feet. He about-faced towards the tunnel and spread his arms wide as he gazed to the heavens, leaning further and further back to take in more and more of the stars, closing his eyes serenely.

As he hit the water, the only thing louder than the splash was his sigh of relief.

((This dumb, self-indulgent idea hit me while standing in a long line at the grocery store after standing in a long line at a drugstore after a long day at work and taking a long test about veterinary pharmacy labels that I probably failed… all I wanted to be at that time was naked and underwater, so I write this…. Actually I went to bed and then wrote it the next morning because I was too tired.))

The part of me that couldn't stop laughing at the game's name and the concept of "Edgelord Pinnochio Bloodborne Clone" can no longer fathom thinking of the game as anything other than "AMAZING!!!!!!! SO GOOD!!!!!!!! THAT TEAM SHOULD BE SO PROUD!!!! WHAT AN ASTONISHING CREATIVE ACHIEVEMENT!!!" I already knew I was on the "i'd recommend this to anyone who likes these types of games or wants to try them" team, but now that is 10000% And even better, it has filled me with so much art inspiration after exploring its world and collecting beautifully designed costumes. The world building/world design is so, so so so very actualized and charming.

#yackin #my favorite way to describe the story/writing of this game is #that it vibes like one of those fanfics that is written by an exceptionally talented 17 year old #because it's full to the brim with nothing but earnest whimsy and heart on its sleeve cringe #as in the type of cringe that wraps back around to being endearing due to how honest it is #because the cold hard world and bitter critics haven't stomped it out of them yet #so it's a real treat to see a polished game that plays smooth as butter have that sort of story #it's shocking how good the experience is with such a tiny team #it's just nice to get to read/experience a story with great gameplay that feels very Untampered With by moneybag CEOs #it might be my favorite souls style game now #anyway hi I woke up at 3 am today

Been really into gardening, so what about Nikolai and König with a gardener s/o? Would they be interested in helping out, or have a specific favorite type of plant?

(I love love LOVE rambling about plants, they're so cool once you get to know them!! I blame my mom entirely since she has a green thumb)

(Also, do you have a fav kind of flower? I personally love hydrangeas)

Plants are really cool, though! Hydrangeas are very pretty, I think I've seen some here and there! I personally adore lisianthus, though! They're absolutely gorgeous! Now I can't help but wonder if I could grow some someday when I move out, haha!

Nikolai and König with a Gardener!S/O

Nikolai: I do believe that he has a garden somewhere near his house only he knows about, where he grows vegetables. He loves having his own little garden, just that little bit of space that no one can take away from him with which he can do just about whatever is nice. He especially likes tomatoes, they’re nutritious, healthy and very delicious, as well as easy to cook. Nikolai is a pretty good cook, so he knows how to utilize tomatoes to their full potential. He has tried to grow flowers as well, though. He’s made some good success with sunflowers, in fact he still has some in his secret garden. So he absolutely knows how to take care of a garden, he finds it relaxing even and would love to help you out a bit, if you let him. Do let him plant some plants of his own, though, he loves watching them grow. Although he’s never been able to do so, he’d love to cultivate some melons at some point as well. Watermelons, cantaloupes, honey melons, he’d love to eat his own ones someday as well, especially with you. He thinks it’s so cool that you’re a gardener because, in another life where he wasn’t a soldier and or leader of a PMC, he, too, would be a gardener. Has always dreamed of having a garden with you and would love to plant some trees as well. Apple trees, cherry trees, maybe even some orange trees, as long as he gets some delicious fruit out of it, he’s down. Besides, what’s more domestic than working at your shared garden together? He’ll even plant some flowers as well. He can’t particularly surprise you well with them, but he can look at your surprised face when they first start sprouting. While he won’t pluck or cut them unless he needs to, he will cherish the moments he gets to spend with you and your shared plants. And if you’re the type of person to name your plants then I can assure you he remembers each and every single name.

König: He’s never really been into gardening. He had a small succulent as a kid once so he had something to take care of that would help him with feeling down, but it didn’t survive very long. He loved the little plant a little too much and gave it too much water every day. To this day he feels guilty about it. He named it “Luisa”. Ever since then he’s not very confident in his plant keeping abilities, thinking he has the worst green thumb imaginable. He would love to help you, don’t get me wrong, but he’s afraid of killing your plants and making you mad about it. No, he’d much rather watch you and encourage you with your endeavors. He’ll buy fertilizer, if needed, or some new seeds or saplings if you want some, but he won’t really do much with your plants, aside from moving them to the sunlight if you want him to. Although, it should be added that he could still learn how to take good care of a plant. With some guidance, and another small succulent that’s hard to kill, it’s not too late. Just show him the ropes, tell him what to do and he’ll do it. He might get nervous about having overdone it again from time to time, and will come up to you, the succulent tiny in his hands, asking you if his plant will make it. Reassure him and give him some good tips, he’ll appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. König feels very accomplished when the plant has survived over two months. As time goes on, he’ll grow more comfortable with plants and ask you if he could maybe help you water some more plants. He may still need to get a feeling for it all, but he’s very eager to help you. Again, this is all very domestic for him, so he quite likes it. Just watering some plants with you, harvesting some parsley, maybe picking some apples from the tree. He can get most fruits from the tree due to his height as well, which is great. König’s more into the practical side of gardening, so he prefers fruit and vegetables over flowers. His favorite plant would be a pumpkin, but only because he loves pumpkin seed oil.

the more i rewatch the scene with sora and kairi exchanging paopu fruit in kh3, the more im baffled by how many fans cite it as the ultimate proof s/k is now canon

right off the bat sora wonders about riku

and then looks confused/concerned when kairi suggests the idea

its only after kairi clarifies that she just wants to be a part of his life ‘no matter what’ that he agrees

no matter what? what is the ‘no matter what’? if he finds someone else? 

to me it reads more like her wanting them to have some kind of relationship, regardless of the choices sora makes in the future. even if that relationship isnt romantic

her adding on ‘that’s all’ further indicates she notices soras concern, and wants him to know what she really meant by exchanging the fruits. which is that she just wanted them to remain in each others lives.

and of couse, the original japanese dialogue for this scene is even more blatantly platonic:

“This charm is to keep us from getting separated again.”

(its also been stated they recorded two versions of the scene: one where they exchange the fruit, and one where they dont. and didnt tell the VAs which they were gonna use. which seems weird if its suppose to be a pivotal scene IRT a s/k romance?)

like??? as a whole the scene feels not like the beginning of a sora and kairi romance, but as a cap on their relationship and wrapping it up, so to speak.

theyve finally recreated their childhood cave drawing, and now they can move on from it. its like. idk. a bookend. not a new start.

if anything, it almost feels like a red herring, to draw you away from the idea of soriku endgame

and of course, theres the fact they didnt share just one, like in the legend that has been stated multiple times:

note the use of ‘one’, ‘it’, and ‘a paopu’

plus, the combined keyblade?

it doesnt have the paopu charm until they combine the two halves

after unknown; i find myself immersed in a pit of sadness. nonetheless the most whole and fulfilling kind from consuming any media i think. i sincerely thank Kurt and Chris for giving their darndest to embody Wei Qian and Wei Zhiyuan, i believe they'll stick with me for long. i'm grateful and relieved that till the very end, the 'we' was pronounced in every discussion with and about lili. They're a family. yuan and qian assuming romantic partnership does not change that. Lili is still both of their little sister and Da Ge still Da Ge.
