L'attrice di Game of Thrones Nathalie Emmanuel interpreta Evie, una ristoratrice di New York senza genitori con una passione per la ceramica che usa un test del DNA a casa per individuare e connettersi con il suo cugino di secondo grado inglese, il parente Oliver Alexander (Hugh Skinner). Insiste che si incontrino mentre lui è in visita a New York per lavoro, poi le chiede di accompagnarlo nella loro terra natale per un elaborato matrimonio in campagna come un'opportunità per incontrare i suoi parenti taciti. Evie è d'accordo, si reca in prima classe in una villa supervisionata da lord Walter (Thomas Doherty) ed è viziata dal suo clan Alexander. Anche se ci sono regole come gli alloggi proibiti e non vagare fuori dalle camere da letto dopo il tramonto: bandiere rosse per qualsiasi fan dell'horror. Le ambizioni per The Invitation di Thompson - nessun collegamento con l'omonimo film omicida della cena di Karyn Kusama - sono come lanciare freccette contro un mood board horror PG-13. L'anonimato nasconde mostruose figure di vampiri che si nutrono di camerieri sacrificali dietro ombre nere come la mezzanotte, per non rivelare mai disegni di creature più cattivi. L'attrazione di Evie per Walter strappato e regale ha lo scopo di scusare il pericoloso avanzamento nella sceneggiatura di Blair Butler. The Invitation rimbalza tra sessioni di alimentazione nel seminterrato intrise di ombre alla James Wan e cavalleria romantica, mentre Walter si sdraia su un corpo miliardario più spesso del bisquit, senza mai raggiungere il massimo equilibrio come, ad esempio, il modo in cui The Boy Next Door offre brividi erotici. In PG-13, c'è solo così tanto di ogni Thompson che può comunque eseguire.

Fortunatamente, tutti gli attori sembrano capire i loro incarichi, da Sean Pertwee nei panni del burbero maggiordomo Mr. Fields a Stephanie Corneliussen nei panni dell'immediata rivale mondana di Evie, Viktoria. Emmanuel e Thomas Doherty sono bollenti, svenuti e così, così sexy in un modo molto fanfiction di Dracula per adolescenti che funziona, con un richiamo speciale a Doherty che si sente come il rubacuori. L'invito non sta riscrivendo fantasie sui vampiri o esplorazioni indulgenti di dannazione eterna, ma gli attori spesso masticano a pezzi gli scenari di "Maniero Spettrale". Hugh Skinner nei panni dell'inquietante e generoso "bravo ragazzo", Alana Boden nei panni dell'unica compagna di Evie con una fissazione curiosa: stanno tutti abbellindo l'ovvio abbastanza da elevare ove possibile.

I remember the first time I read a fic that had Sirius grovelling for Remus' forgiveness post-POA and I was SO CONFUSED??? And now that seems to be the popular take on the situation. The fandom consensus is that Remus was the ultimate victim and Sirius is the one that should feel guilty.

And I feel like this displays a fundamental misunderstanding of Remus as a character.

Remus doesn't hold grudges. He doesn't even feel that he deserves to be angry. About anything. He has too much self-hatred and internalized prejudice to ever be so entitled to his own emotions. In reality, Remus was probably wracked by self-loathsome guilt; for believing that Sirius could ever be guilty, for being directly responsible for Peter escaping after Sirius finally had him cornered, and for grievously wounding Sirius and putting students & everyone else at Hogwarts in mortal danger when he forgot to take his Wolfsbane.

Remus doesn't award himself the grace this fandom is determined to believe he does. He thought he deserved to be publicly outed and sacked, for fuck's sake. He was almost certainly the one down on his knees begging Sirius for forgiveness after the events in POA.

Oh my god people whine about everything Jesus Christ. Like maybe there is a reason your driver wasn’t asked such as them having a contract to another team or maybe team redline didn’t want them there. Why in the hell do people need to make something that is for fun into a literal issue when there isn’t one.

They never said f1 drivers would join except for Max and you aren’t being forced to turn into the he stream if you do not wish to. If your driver wanted to do a stream they would but they don’t. Team redline is in partnership with Red Bull and Max and I’m sure that might add to some issues but Jesus Christ the abuse they are getting is literally mind blowing.
